So I heard that Elizanne is starting to get a teeny tiny bit of traction, which is incredibly exciting! I'm very grateful for anyone sharing my art and my vision!
So please take this very excited future marquis and the educated noble girl, that has taken his interest as a gift of gratitude.

Joanna Johannesen aka JoJo
Tumblr media
She is a countess who owns a prominent fashion company that is influenced by various cultures. She met Ciel when she requested to collaborate with his toy company. After that, she became closer to the boy to the point he saw her as a mother figure. She often helps Ciel with cases as she has two retired grim reapers working for her.

Ch189, The living are calling him back: spoiler
This image became available, thanks to discussions on that previous post.
Tumblr media
Those ghostly images are actually Lau, Ada, Nicholas, and Conny.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sebastian is blocking Baldo's path to join his dead wife and son, while Ada and the others are trying to save his life. He really has no choice but to live... for now. Though it remains to be seen when he will come-to again... or how he will then feel about life and death.

UK radfems, I urge you to spend time in second hand book shops looking for works published by "The Women's Press".
Tumblr media
"Established in 1978, The Women's Press is dedicated to publishing incisive feminist fiction and non-fiction by outstanding women writers from all round the world.
Literary and crime fiction, biography and autobiography, books on psychology, health, race and disability, women's studies and cultural, sexual and political history all have a place within the inclusive and unique publishing space that is The Women's Press."
It's looks like they dissolved in 2013, and it's hard to find a timeline of what happened after the mid 90s. I get the impression that after the wave of publishing new works in the 70s and 80s, they resorted to republishing their catalogue and then eventually folding. Personally, I only have books from the 70s and 80s in my collection.
Works by Andrea Dworkin (Pornography: Men Possessing Women), Joanna Russ (The Female Man), Alice Walker (The Colour Purple), Octavia Butler (Kindred) have all been published by TWP, but the other exciting thing is when you find a book by an author you've never heard of before.
To spot them, looks for the "iron" logo and the striped spines - the Iron being a play on words and the stripes representing the irons cord.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Their Sci Fi collection uses a different cover style - a grey gradient on all sides, and a picture on the centre front, and I also have a brown cover with yellow font, I'm not sure if that was a limited cover style because I only have one and haven't found any more. I have also seen black spines so look out for those too. But even these styles repeat the iron logo on the spine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Women from around the world could order from the Women's Press, so you may find these books in other countries too.
Due to their sometimes limited run, I have found some of them to be more expensive in second hand shops than other books - I remember that "A Wicked Old Woman" cost me £7 - but I have found that they are always worth it.
One of their mission statements was consciousness raising, and they continue to do so. I have felt very connected to other women by reading their words and having them resonant with me 30 or 40 years later.

relationship hcs ; baldroy
Tumblr media
requested by ; mod / self indulgent
fandom(s) ; black butler
fandom masterlist(s) ; hub | specific
character(s) ; baldroy
outline ; “dating headcanons for baldroy”
warning(s) ; none, just fluff!
baldroy is, as far as it goes, a very traditionally masculine person and that very much so extends to how he acts as your partner — he wholeheartedly believes it’s his responsibility to keep you safe and provided for and he will brush you off if you say anything to the contrary (this is partially due to the social expectations of the time and place he grew up, and partially because of what happened to his first family)
he’s extremely physically affectionate with you in private and amongst friends, but he tends to limit that affection to the type that fits his ideal of the ‘perfect boyfriend/husband’ — an arm around the waist, kisses on the cheek/neck, picking you up to kiss you when you’ve been apart for a while, and other things along those lines
he leans towards pet names like ‘babe’ (maybe even ‘doll’ if you’re comfortable with it), but otherwise he’ll just call you by your first name — with it sounding especially romantic when it’s early in the morning and he’s reaching across the bed to pull you close for just ‘five more minutes’
bard loves to joke around with you and gives as good as he gets when it comes to lighthearted roasting, happily taking any jokes about his cooking (burning, really) and then lovingly making fun of you for any absurd mistake you make — sometimes you end up exchanging jokes for hours in bed until your sides and cheeks are aching and the sun is starting to rise (and— oh god mr sebastian is going to kill you both for this…)
it’s difficult for him to talk about his past, about joanna and junior and their murder, but he tries not to hide or shy away from it — if you ask he’ll tell you about them, about his previous life on the farm and how they fell in love and started a family, but he makes it clear that he loves you no less than he did them (you all have a place in his heart, and whilst he’ll never stop loving them he’ll never feel less for you because of his losses)
he makes no attempt to hide his physical attraction to you, only shutting up about it when he’s meant to be working (or after sebastian scolds him for being inappropriate) — but make no mistake, he’s going to be ogling you and making flirty remarks and gestures to you whenever you cross paths during the day, and even more so when you retire for the evening (only getting more blatant about it if it flusters you because he enjoys being a bit of an ass)
he can get a bit heated during arguments, to put it lightly, and has been known to raise his voice — but he’d never lay a hand on you and usually ends up storming off somewhere to cool down before awkwardly seeking you out and muttering an apology for going too far

do you still take made up titles? "the lion, the witch, and the audacity of this bitch"
This story is about Cersei and her dad. More specifically, after she gets That Prophecy from the witch in the woods about her future children and crowns of gold, she goes running back to Casterly Rock, screaming for Sebastian.
Yes, Sebastian. The Sebastian from Black Butler.
You see, when Tywin was young and raging about his father's incompetency, in a bout of silliness and absurdity, he decided to try one of the maesters' hogwash of a book on the occults. He summoned a demon - Sebastian the demon to be more exact.
So in this AU, Sebastian did ensure that Joanna survived childbed, but Tywin's relationship with Joanna is dead. Joanna hates Sebastian. Not only as a loyal follower of the Seven, Joanna also believes, with all her heart, that Sebastian is a mistress. The first and last thing Tywin sees is Sebastian; all the servants that report to Joanna say that Sebastian never sleeps in his own bedroom; Tywin considers Sebastian his most loyal confidante and advisor, even more so than Kevan his own brother!
What better confidante and advisor than one own's lover, hm?
As for Cersei, she ignores her mother's unhappy words about Sebastian. In this world, as Joanna didn't die in childbirth, Cersei doesn't put her (not dead) mother on a pedestal as someone who can do no wrong. If anything, she favors Sebastian who helps her get what she (and Jaime) wants.
Sebastian, after all, convinced Tywin to let her have her own (unladylike) lessons on swordfighting. If it happens to be with Sebastian (so no one else in the castle will learn about it and her unladylike hobbies), then so it be. It's a bonus if anything. Sebastian also personally teaches Jaime his letters, proving just how much better he is than the stupid maesters who can't teach at all! (Or so Cersei's child POV says.)
Cersei, if anything, might just consider Sebastian as another parental figure...
Which is why she is plotting that stupid red-headed chit's death. Who this fuck does this Grell bitch think they are, calling for Tywin's death and Sebastian's hand in marriage!?!?!? And this Grell has the audacity to pick this day, of all days, to make a ruckus when Cersei wants Sebastian to deal with the Witch in the Woods for her!

What are your headcanons of Joanna if she lived ?
GET READY FOR SOME ANGST
Tumblr media
Worked as a chef in the Phantomhive manor along side Baldroy
Suffers from very bad trauma from the whole town being attacked, her possible Sexual Assault which is implied, and losing her first child so for the longest time it took so much to even help her eat or go outside
Think Hamliton's song Quiet Uptown with the two and just cry with me
Here
But like in the song she slowly grew to accepting that life will go on and began to follow the ways of a Phantomhive Servant
She started doting on Ciel as if she's his mother which he kind of likes
As soon as she meets Doll she clings to her telling her she's perfect the way she is after a night of crying
Bakes the fucking BEST pies
She learned to shoot pretty well before but now she knows how to shoot along side Mey-Rin

Joanna Headcanons
Joanna is known as JoJo to those close to her
She is a famous fashion designer whose clothes and jewelry are known worldwide
She enjoys art of any kind and loves to learn about other cultures
She works closely with the Ciel Phantomhive as her lesser know profession is being the anonymous head of a notorious mercenary group
She stays anonymous by using figureheads and her two butlers Jude and Matthew who act as hitmen that dispose of unwanted people
She is known to be ladylike in public but in private she is quite the opposite
She is a generally kind and compassionate person, as she tries not to harm people and despises collateral damage
She has no problem being ruthless when it comes to vile people
In fact, she will plan out personalized executions for people who have crossed her
If she can't kill the person there will be a freak accident that will occur that leaves them injured but alive
She is very close to Ciel the boy even sees her as a mother figure
She is often at the Phantomhive manor as she works closely with Ciel on many of his cases due to her own sense of justice
She is morally grey and very manipulative
She has to have at least a little control at all times and the way she does this is befriending those around her so she can learn everything she can about them
She cares about very few people and has trouble forming emotional attachments to anything, but when she does her loyalty is unmatched

Ch189, Sunflower Wheat Fields: spoilers
Snagged a bunch of random spoiler images, and all I can say is that I agree with @pain-in-the-butler that there are some serious Mother3 vibes going on in this chapter.
Just like I say (in a huge timeline comparison post that's still in draft!) about Mey-Rin in her assignment with Ran-Mao, Baldo is acting as a stand-in for our earl here (and Lau for Sebastian), so we have a pretty clear parallel to "ch6: Sunflower Fields" in Mother3, where Lucas and Boney kind of pass out from falling, and when they "come-to", they are in a field of sunflowers dedicated to Hinawa, the mother of the mirror twins. Hinawa's ghost shows up but remains elusive. Lucas is trying to cope with the death of his mother, as well as all the survivor's guilt over her death. Lucas and Boney try to catch up to her but end up falling again, this time landing in a haystack, where they are found by Hinawa's father, Alec, and Duster's father, Wess.
In this case, we have Baldo (standing in for our earl) passing out and finding himself in a wheat field where he sees images of his dead wife and son. He wants to come to terms with their deaths, and maybe he wants to be with (join) them, but it's not to be. An image of Sebastian seems to be telling him he has to live (or something along those lines).
Except when he finally wakes up, he will probably be with Ada, Lau, and possibly Ronald. Looks like he's probably being operated on by Ada. Idk if the order is right, but this might at least be close:

I've also heard it's a super short chapter, maybe only 11 regular pages of panels. I hope that's not including the cover page and title page....
