I am not sure why, but I like the idea that the bishops low key ship the lamb and Shamura once they learn they like each other.
I think it’s a cute idea!
I imagine that Leshy and Kallamar definitely seem like the two to tease the two about it.
Narinder is not that into it but he does occasionally join in.
Heket actually tries to give dating advice to both of them, as she’s fallen in love with a rabbit follower (more info on her later btw), though she’s not the best at it.
The “advice” goes something like:
Lamb: “How do I confess my love to someone?”
Heket: “Piece of cake! All you have to do is….is….”
Lamb: “Heket…?”
Heket:
(Wanted to draw a few shenanigans but I currently don’t have it in me, though I hope to do some in the future)
One here, for example, is that once in the definitive and most divine form they can change that form at will. Preferring to stay in their firts form because well
“Narinder.” They call his name, slow and slurred with sleep. “Come.” @bamsara this oneshot was spectacular, and I knew as soon as I read this scene I had to draw it.
So 1. I need to see Shamura showing Lamb said baby photos while the rest of the Bishops scream in embarrassment, and 2. The fact that Shamura has (at least) 5091 of these books make it even funnier.
Could I get kallamar x reader(who's a friend) where he learns reader is sick and blames himself but reader was just born sickly and tends to get sick super easy and it wasn't his fault?
“..and we give thanks to Darkwood for the camellia that grants us good health all year round. With petals red like fervor, this flora nourishes and strengthens us in our time of need. May our farms allow them to grow in abundance this winter season and...”
As everyone in the temple listened to Lamb’s daily sermon, Kallamar stood in the midst of the crowd, towards the back. Although he did his best to pay attention and keep his gaze strictly to the podium, every so often it would shift over to you in worry.
Much like everybody else, your arms were raised in admiration of your great leader, but your face told him a completely different story:
You seemed dazed and exhausted. Being the closest one to you, he could see how labored your breaths were. Shallow and uneven, yet you tried your hardest to keep them quiet.
Over all, you didn’t appear to be in good health whatsoever. And this made the ex-bishop gravely concerned that he had something to do with it.
Ever since he befriended you, he noticed you’ve been sick more often. Almost every other day, you were resting in the healing bay or in a shelter, unable to do much work around the cult besides leaving offerings or giving devotion at the shrines.
Because of that, you missed quite a few sermons..though Lamb didn’t seem to mind it at all. Of course, they’ve taken in sick devotees before--ones much like yourself.
But while they’ve gotten better with time and only rarely fell ill from there on, it was a daily occurrence with you.
It was..like you were cursed.
‘Were you?’ Kallamar wondered--a question that kept him up at night, yet he was too afraid to ask you about.
It couldn’t be a coincidence that when he arrived to the cult..you started showing symptoms almost immediately. Even though you had a relatively healthy bowl of food while he was being indoctrinated, you felt sick and started the friendship off on the wrong foot.
“..mar..did you hear me?”
Feeling a nudge, the squid nearly yelped in surprise as he looked to his other side, seeing Leshy tilt his head. “I said those flowers are only growing because of me.” He huffed. “This place wouldn’t even have half of them if it weren’t for my powers..”
‘He..still has his divine powers?’ Kallamar was starting to get a bad feeling.
Maybe his hunch was right. Maybe deep inside, he could still somehow have an influence over health and sickness..just like how Leshy could influence flower growth.
They’ve had these powers all along--their crowns simply amplified them and allowed them to spread an even greater influence among their followers.
Now? These abilities were more subtle. Not as widespread as they once were, but Kallamar feared that he unknowingly caused you all this suffering.
He didn’t mean to hurt you. Did you hate him for it? You surely must.
“D-Don’t speak in the middle of the sermon..” He whispered back to his younger brother. “We’ll be in trouble.”
Leshy just scoffed quietly, but otherwise stayed silent.
Kallamar had almost calmed down, though he was startled yet again as a quiet gagging noise came from you. He looked over in alarm as you sneakily ducked out of the crowd, exiting the temple in a hurry before anyone else noticed.
Feeling guilt twisting his heart, he refused to stay here anymore and followed you outside.
You were sitting near a tree that was a fair distance away from the temple, wiping your mouth with your sleeve. Fortunately, you still had this morning’s breakfast in your stomach, but you had to sit down somewhere before the nausea became too overwhelming.
“H-Hi..are you okay?”
You saw the ex-bishop standing there, looking down at you with a worried gaze.
“Yeah,” you nodded, offering him a reassuring smile. “I’m alright. It’s just-”
“I-I’m so sorry..” His voice broke as he sat down, too--practically collapsing to his knees in front of you.
Tilting your head, your eyebrows furrowed upon seeing the tears sliding down his turquoise face. “Sorry for what?”
“It’s my fault you are constantly plagued with sickness. I just..I-I don’t know why or how but...I can still curse people apparently..” He sniffled, trying to wipe the tears away but failing miserably. It was useless, just like his inability to cure you.
“I didn’t mean to..y-you must forgive me-”
“Wait, did..Leader not tell you?”
“..tell me what?” Kallamar looked at you in confusion.
“I was born sickly.” You explained gently. “My immune system..never caught up to speed with the rest of my body. So I catch the flu and stuff easier than most people. It sucks but..I learn to live with it. Leader understands. They say giving devotion is enough for them, so they’re okay with it.”
“Th-That’s..that’s all?”
“Yep.” You chuckled, though you fell silent as he still frowned, and you shifted closer to him. “You could have asked me about it and save yourself the worry.”
“I didn’t want to be rude..” He muttered. “A-Are you sure it’s not my fault?”
“No. Not at all.”
“...you don’t hate me?”
“Of course not.”
At those reassurances, Kallamar felt a huge weight being lifted off his shoulders. He was so relieved to learn the truth--though knowing it sooner could’ve spared him from so much stress and anxiety.
“Thank you..” He smiled in gratitude, before seeing you stand up. “Oh! Where are you going?”
“To pray for a better abundance of camelia this winter.” You looked at him with a smile. “Care to join me?”
you mentioned in the tags of your prankster Leshy post of a "little evil Lamb idea".
It's not yet another "the Lamb tortures the bishops for eternity" au, right? /gen
Welllllll, while I havent thought too much of how they’d treat the bishops too much yet…
Meet little Indulgence!Lamb!!!
In all honesty, i was originally gonna just have this version of lamb for like a little comic idea i had. But then, broski kinda just started growing on me, so here we are!
The summarized lore of this lamb is that they were originally part of a herd that was in Anura. But, as soon as famine hit cuz of the bishops trying to weed them out, lamb kinda had to resort to extreme measures to survive ( aka cannibalism).
When they got sent to the axe though, they were still starving and died hungry. Now they’re just using this second chance as a way to satiate their endless hunger, be it the enemies in their way, or the followers at their mercy.
TLDR for those who don’t wanna read my wall of text: Leshy feels out of place among the old faith and believes the other bishops fear his power and don’t respect him so he makes his own cult. The others don’t like that and try to stop Leshy. Big fight ensues, four bishops injured, Leshy gets imprisoned, and the green crown gets lost in Darkwood.
Leshy, the youngest of bishops and newest edition to the Old Faith had always felt out of place- No. He KNEW he was the odd one out.
War, Pestilence, Death and Famine. They were the four horseman of the Apocalypses. They were a team. Just the four of them.
Originally, Leshy had thought the older bishops simply feared change. That they were stuck in their ways and with his domain being that of chaos, it had disrupted the balance the Old Faith had grown comfortable in .
But it was HIM they feared. They clearly feared the unpredictable powers of the green crown. They couldn't control him and it SCRAED them.
Shamura couldn't teach Leshy their traditions. Tradition was boring and Leshy wasn't one for the strict routine Shamura tried to enforce.
Narinder and Heket couldn't scare him into submission. Leshy had laughed at the idea of his older siblings trying to boss him around like he was one of their followers.
And Kallamar… We'll Kallamar had always been a coward through and through. The pathetic squid god would say what the others were too proud to admit.
There was no place for Leshy in their faith.
Since there was no place for him in the old faith, Leshy would just make his own faith! With a following of those who respected his domain. Then when his siblings saw how powerful he was they would HAVE to respect him.
Leshy isolated himself from his older siblings without warning and focused all of his efforts on making his own cult grow. The older bishops didn't pay any attention to this as they thought Leshy had finally gotten the message and was taking the teaching of the Old Faith seriously. Oh how wrong they were.
His following has always been much larger than his sibling's as Leshy was rather lax with the rules and his followers could usually do as they pleased. This made him more favorable among the mortals.
And as his following grew, so did his power.
It was only when followers started leaving the old faith to join Leshy did the other bishops realize what their youngest brother had been doing. They needed to put a stop to this before Leshy took his "New Faith" too far.
Attempting to confront Leshy was a horrible mistake. A horrible, horrible mistake.
This would be the first and hopefully last time any of the bishops would ever seen raw chaos magic in action as they witness the power of the green crown and for the first time see Leshy's eldritch form.
~~~ BATTLE AND AFTERMATH ~~~
-Kallamar was the first to be attacked by Leshy. Kali's ear's were permanently damaged by being too close to Leshy screaming while he transformed into his eldritch horror form. Kali was left deafened immediately after the attack. Leshy then flung Kali through the forest with his tail and chased a panicked Kallamar until their other siblings arrived. Kali chained the tail shortly after Heket managed to restrain Leshy for long enough.
After the battle, Kali's paranoia only grows as he believes Leshy is still watching him from the shadows. Now unable to hear, Kali is constantly looking over his shoulder and hold his weapons at the ready, much to the dismay of his followers who might get a blade pointed in their face. He does suffer from auditory hallucinations which only make the paranoia worse
-While attempting to muzzle Leshy, he grabbed Shamura in his mouth and burrowed violently through the ground until Narinder captured him. Shamura experience permanent head trauma from the attack which had also left them severely traumatized. They chained the upper body.
Shamura was left a shell of their former self. Not only from the brain damage but from the grief they feel over failing their youngest sibling. It was Shamura's job as the oldest and wisest bishop to teach their ways and they failed to reach Leshy. If they had only tried harder. Tried to understand how the chaos god saw their world. Shamura had the powers to stop any of this from happening and yet they still failed them all.
-Heket's throat was slashed open by one of Leshy's antlers while putting the collar shackle on him. This was the only attack from Leshy which was purely accidental. Heket was the first to successfully chain Leshy. She chained his neck.
Heket now has to speaks telepathically through her crown as she was muted by the attack and it pains her to try and speak. She was the sibling Leshy was closest too and his betrayal hit her hard. Was she too hard on the young god? Was she not hard enough? For the first time in her long life, Heket questions her choices. Her uncertainty manifests itself as unbridle rage as her iron grip over her cult only tightens.
-Narinder was the last bishop to arrive shortly after Shamura, he had gotten his left arm bitten off while attempting to restrain Leshy and rescue Shamura from the jaws of the rampaging worm. He chained the lower body.
After almost dying at the hands (mouth?) of Leshy, Nari has been struggling with the concept of his own mortality. The god of death himself being afraid of dying? How painfully ironic. Despite all this, Nari is the one to visit Leshy the most out of all of the siblings. The two of them, were never that close by any means but Nari will occasionally check in on the youngest god...
