WARNING: SPOILERS FOR @loudclan-clangen

Finally caught up with the sixth generation of my dynasty challenge! Moonstar’s leadership was…stressful. For me specifically, Loudclan was fine. As a reminder, a dynasty challenge ends when there are no more descendants to pass the position of leadership onto. Moonstar had her 1st litter of Hornetkit, who was killed by an eagle at 5 moons old, and Stingfeather, who was killed by rouges at 14 moons old, and then just decided she was done having babies. (Which is great if you’re a human person, but not so much when the game I have poured months into rests in the balance.) The only thing keeping my sanity intact was the polyamory update coming out, allowing Moonstar and her mate Blueberrythroat to form a throuple with Honeysmoke, who had a longtime crush on both of them. Despite being paralyzed since birth, Honeysmoke had no problem having many many adorable babies, which was great!

…Until 150 moon old Moonstar decided to get pregnant and have not 1, but 2 kits! 😀 so now there’s a succession crisis, which is much more intense a situation than I signed up for when I decided to start playing the cute little pixel kitty game. “That’s fine,” says Moonstar, “I can fix this,” and so she declares that Birchpaw will replace Wormfur as the deputy once she comes of age. This wildly upsets her daughter Ladybugstep, so Moonstar says “don’t worry, I can still fix this”, and declares that Honeysmoke is now the mediator, and her biological kits will inherit the role of mediator instead of leader. This satiates most everyone, except for Ladybugstep, who is still upset, so Moonstar says “okay fine, you all figure it out” and she FREAKING DIES. At 167 moons old. While Birchpaw is only 9 moons old. Now, I’m not sure if you fine folks have ever played the drama simulator that is clangen, but apprentices cannot become leader. So poor Wormfur, against her will, becomes Wormstar at 36 moons old. And Birchpaw, an emo teenager, decides that this is a personal slight against her and her brother. It’s not until Pinefrost dies 32 moons later that Birchfeather finally forgives Wormstar for just… being alive? Things finally settle down after the death of Ladybugstep. Wormstar never has kits of her own, fearing setting off another divide within the clan, so when she was killed by rouges at 102 moons old, Birchstar took over the clan, finally fulfilling Moonstar’s wishes and maintaining the more strict rules of the dynasty. And with that we’re caught up! …Mostly. Birchstar already has some baby daddy drama happening, but that’s a story for another post.

Story: 

"I can't believe that Chasmjoy did that!" Breezepaw snarled, his tail lashing.

"I know." Glaremouse responded. "Don't worry, I'm sure Cinderstar will let you become a warrior eventually. Chasmjoy was just dumb, and so is Cinderstar for listening to him."

"What?" Breezepaw asked, all anger gone from his posture. "....Glaremouse....Chasmjoy...he killed Tangleivy."

That was unexpected. "Oh." Glaremouse responded, trying to process the information and failing. "That's....good."

Seeing Breezepaw unsheathe his claws, Glaremouse quickly elaborated. "It's good because I killed him already. I was...unhappy about what he said, and it just happened." 

A horrible screech came from the entrance to camp. Cinderstar, the leader, pushed past a crowd that neither of the brothers had noticed forming.

Breaking through the sound of scuffling was Birchfeather's wails, burying his head into the body of...Nighteagle. 

As a small pitch-black rabbit sprung out from around the corner, Glaremouse and Breezepaw exchanged a look.

"Kits....there's something I need to tell you. About your other father, Silentbrook. One day, I....I encountered them standing over the body of Goatcinder."

Peaklight let out a sob at that, Goatcinder was her own kit. But that wasn't all Flightcry had to say.

"He didn't see me. But I told the medicine cat what I had seen, and....Silentbrook contracted greencough soon after."

After that, it was like darkness itself broke loose, as Glaremouse leapt at his father and tore his throat out.

As you can imagine, the others there didn't take well to that. Glaremouse regretted nothing, except...

Midnightstar exiled him, and Breezefleck could only watch. He failed his brother.

Soon after, his injuries caught up to him, and a cat he hadn't seen for a good while came to comfort him in his final moments.

"Little mouse of rage, what event are you trying to stage?" 

Glaremouse could barely look up, coughing so badly it was impossible to even stand. Rabbithollow gave him a concerned look.

"Gonna die anyway. Don't wanna suffer too long," Glaremouse croaked out, weakly gesturing to the deathberry seeds that he had gathered before it got this bad.

Rabbithollow nodded in understanding, and curled up next to him.

He muttered reassurances to Glaremouse as he died.

not a huge fan of -pelt and -fur type names tbh. like imagine, let’s say, graypaw was so excited to become a warrior and have an awesome cool name only to be called grayfur. it’s just kind of… boringish and neutral and imo kinda degrading, especially if you have a grayfur in the same clan as birchfeather and sparrowsong and daisyflight and blueshine..

so, finding certain names boring is valid, and I guess I can understand to a degree

however

calling the names degrading seems to be pushing it a bit far imo??

cause like, there's nothing wrong with names that aren't flashy or a mouthful to say

I picture names like Grayfur, Robinwing, and Whitetail to be comparable to names like James Smith, Robert Johnson, Jessica Miller and other such super common name combinations

so saying it's degrading that a character doesn't have a super fancy name comes off as kinda shitty to me

which, again, just my opinion

you can feel however you want about Warrior Cats cause in the end it's a fictional serious about a bunch of feral cats who worship stars and heal each other with random leaves off the ground

but if you feel it's offensive to give a character a common/basic name, maybe take a step back for a moment /gen

Branchstar (Branchspark) - long haired orange tom with tabby stripes

As a young tom he fell for a younger shecat, and they had a beautiful litter of kits. Mentoring one of his kits to warriorhood, Branchstar started to be referenced as a senior warrior. When he was given the title of deputy after Kestrelflight, his father in law, retired, Branchstar had been surprised. He did his best to do his job well, and when Linnetstar died he was heartbroken. He lost his mate to a strange lump in her belly before he became deputy, and unlike most fathers in that position, he made sure not to baby his kits.  He can often be seen as a paternal figure, warm and inviting. His warm big heart is why his warrior name had been Branchspark. Branchstar has only lost one life to yellow cough, thankfully, and is as strong as ever. Regal and charming, Branchstar is a forest favorite. Happy to help when needed, he would never stop his medicine cats from aiding another clan. He will use the justification “if my enemy is weak, how can my warriors become stronger?”  Branchstar admittedly leads with his heart a lot, so when he named Tansysprig his deputy, none were too surprised. She is a great option, and helps keep her leads thinking reasonably. Ideal Partner: replace tansy, or gimme someone for him to fall in love with again, maybe someone who mentored his other kits? When Elmfrost died, Snailstep had also been sick, but recovered. He became friends with Wildshine, his sisters apprentice, and discovered his faith when his mother visiting him in a dream the night after her death. Snailstep still remembers falling asleep with a pained chest from his illness, and then seeing his beautiful mother in Starclan.  Since then, Snailstep has seemed to become more wise, although he’s never questioned the warrior code, now he doesn’t due to his loyalty to Starclan. Snailstep hopes to be invited to the Crystal cave to share dreams with his mother again.  Ideal Partner: an apprentice of his mother, or a kit who grew up with him, or that cute young shecat who thinks he’s the bees knees Position | Clan: Warrior | Whisperclan

okeye SO i would draw this but i do not rly feel like drawing rn so insteade i will jus give a name and a description for him ! if that is okay,

i actaully kinda made my cat into a warrior already, his name's thunderstep (i wanted to name him heavystep. because he is. yknow. Very Larg. but then i remembered heavystep is already a canon wc name so <3 thunderstep it is <33) n he's just a black cat with yellow eyes, maybe like a few lighter gray markings here n there or something,,, also he is very larg and chumby (just like my irl cat SKJDHJDSKHKJ)

but ALSO! i made my sister's cat into a warrior too, since her cat is taller and thinner and is a lighter brown tabby i named him birchfeather i think,,,? i gave him the prefix birch cause he reminds me of another canon cat with the same appearance n stuff (birchfall, both him n my sisters cat are both light brown tabbies) and i gave him the suffix -feather because idk i jus kinda thought it sounded cute, n also -feather makes me think of a Cat Who Runs Fast or is, like, as Light As A Feather or smth. SO i named him birchfeather because he light brown and he run fast KSJDDJKJKGJK

Yoyoyo waddup its the Tigerpaw Anon TM off anon. Since i started talking a bit about Hawkpaw im probababky forced to explain her life story. Here we go. She was born in the middle of leafbare in ThunderClan, her sister, Maplekit, was born stillborn. Her father is a murderous RiverClan cat named Sharpheart, and her mother, Owlfire, has a girlfriend named Frostleaf, who is 3 moons younger than her. She always wanted to become a medicine cat and was jealous of (☆1/idk how many oops)

(☆2/2 ya) Brindlepaw (Brindleflurry) and would hiss whenever she saw her because she was the med app. Eventually her best friend, a tom named Birchfeather, one of the med cats who was like over 50 moons old died. Luckily, unlike the time she panicked bc she almost drowned and attempted to poison herself, she ran off to RIDGECLAN (a fanclan) and became their med cat, as their old one was dead for 2 seasons. Now, she quietly sits around solving other cats problems, and is trained by Birch's ghost.

This was a wild ride and a lot of information 2 process holy shit. I hope she has a gud time in ridgecan
