I'm looking at the Zora May prompts and wanna write stuff, and now my brain's just giggling with ideas LOL like--
Imagine, after Age of Calamity, that Link and Mipha get together. That has its whole set of fun and drama - a Hylian/Zora marriage would mean a lot anyway, but particularly when it's the Zora princess and the Hero of Hyrule. Link and Mipha start to have a family, Zelda is settling into being queen, and they all have their own set of stressors and joys and the three are still besties and it would be just so funny to see y'all. Like... Link takes his oath as a knight seriously, so he still assists Hyrule often, and just this scenario in my head came and--
Zelda, sighing: I hardly slept last night. I was up late researching the latest Zonai discoveries and almost forgot I had a meeting with the Rito delegation this morning. I'm so tired.
Link, hair a mess, on his third cup of coffee after dealing with one of his kids having a meltdown while the other kept everyone up crying all night, dealing with Mipha also trying to do royal duties, having just teleported over here via Sheikah towers: .....That sounds rough.

i still think the funniest possible answer to “where did all the divine beasts go in tears of the kingdom” would have been “purah and robbie were in the middle of dismantling guardians and ancient sheikah tech for parts and they were like “oh, the champions’ ghosts are still here? well divine beasts are really big, we can repurpose some bits and pieces to give you new bodies if you want” and then we get unstoppable sheikah-tech cyborg ghost champions just, hanging out with their descendants and shit

I've become one of those fanfic authors who doesn't have any kind of schedule and just writes when inspiration strikes 😅 for better or for worse
Though at least those sessions tend to be very productive lol

“Well now,” he hummed. “You’re late. I expected you to seek my aid sooner, little Hero.”
“I-I’m sorry,” Link stammered, caught off guard. He'd expected Link? “I wanted to ask…”
“About your Epona,” Malanya interrupted. He waved a glittering hand and, for a moment, Link’s heart sank. Malanya sounded and looked so casual, so dismissive, that Link expected an instant no.
“It has been one hundred years,” Malanya said, waving a finger in Link’s face. Sparkles landed in his hair. “Yet your Epona still demands I send her back to you. She worries for you, little Hero. Ah, Heroes and their steeds…I admit, I am always impressed by the strength of your dedication to each other. Not many mortals care for their steeds as much as you and your past incarnations have. Why, the Hero of Time was never without his own Epona, and the Hero of Twilight took pity on Ganondorf’s mare, claiming her as his own…Ah, but it is not them we need to speak of.” Malanya drew himself back up, stretching. “Reviving horses takes energy, little Hero. It requires much of my power and energy. To revive a horse that’s been gone for so long…Well, it will exhaust me.”
“Do you need more endura carrots?” Link asked. But, really, when were things ever so easy?
“Ha! I would not say no to such a treat. But no. No, no. If I am to use so much of my power, I want to ensure it will be worth it. She died for you once, little Hero. Can you protect her this time?”
*
During the siege of Highland Stable, the giant stallion comes to Link and Yuki's aid. After the battle, the duo go in search of Malanya.
But if Malanya is going to even consider resurrecting a horse that's been dead for one hundred years, he's going to need some incentive.

I think botw would be x100 better if link just gave the champions a bear hug after defeating the blight ganons and seeing their spirits. Tears optional.

do y’all ever get like SUPER fixated on stuff???
well when i saved up and got my first musical instrument (a harp) in sky cotl i was DETERMINED to practice the Mipha theme from Zelda botw (because she is my absolute fav).
i did the entire quest for harmony hall and spent DAYS perfecting the melody and trying to match the tune to the theme as good as I was able to.
i finally got it how i wanted to so i could fit it in one of the music memories things and went to Valley to play it in the castle area thing with the manta spirit and the microwaves, and spent hours to get it just right.
so today i log on and as im trying to get my sister to play with me (by bribing her) one of my first ever sky kid friends who i haven’t talked to in a while cause of time zones comes up to me and tells me about how they saw my song and they LOVED IT!
when i tell you that it literally made my day im not exaggerating
it was also so nice to connect with them after not playing together for while, even if it was only for a few minutes.
lesson learned: don’t be afraid to tell people you like their art, writing, music, anything, because it makes people feel good about something that they spent a lot of time on, or maybe they didn’t like how it turned out. it makes people feel good about their work when you like it, so don’t be afraid to tell them!!

Mipha meeting her predecessor Ruta
I don’t often talk about my ancient au here but I want to change that! Each champion in botw has key traits that their predecessor held; Ruta/Mipha share a certain- bloodthirstiness, shall we say.
Ruta’s design has changed a lot and many times, but I think I’m finally narrowing her down the way I like! She is very very tall and slightly over twice Mipha’s age (the youngest champion in her time) and though I didn’t draw it here, she has bioluminescent spots across her face, tail, arms and chest

@vigilantdesert liked for a starter!

¯`°¤.¸.¤ ¯`°¤.-- ♕ II "Urbosa. I fear I may pass out..." She stumbled as her words faltered, sweat dripping from the scales of her forehead. Her Lightscale Trident slipped from her fingertips, her grip too weak to continue holding it. The weapon clattered to the floor, drawing the attention of the Gerudo warriors training with her when she started to lose her balance. With her arms outstretched, she tried to catch herself, but it was too late. She crashed to the warm stone floor, her body falling limp as soon as she tumbled to the ground.
Her ears were ringing and everything went black. The only sound she could hear were the worried shouts and sounds of the Gerudo warrior's muffled running as they came to her side, yet she couldn't comprehend anything else happening around her. She couldn't see and couldn't feel her body, yet she knew the hot rays of the sun was unrelentingly burning her scales.
She needed water. Fast.
The desert climate proved too treacherous for a Zora, no matter how powerful or stubborn one was. Perhaps Mipha had overexerted herself. Or perhaps she overestimated just how unforgiving the desert could be for someone used to wetter climates.
But it was that stubbornness that was her undoing. The Gerudo warriors were tough. Strong. The most powerful soldiers outside of Hyrule's army. She wanted to be like them. Like Lady Urbosa. So she thought it best to train with them in an environment she was not used to. She thought that would make her stronger too.
Oh, how wrong she'd been.

@graceful-mipha - Not Yet
"And," Mipha frowned as she looked up at her taller brother. "You aren't ready for that sort of task yet, Sidon." The pair had been in a small argument over wether Sidon was old enough to take on a band of monsters that were getting closer and closer. She wanted her brother to remain in the Domain to train longer. If he got hurt, there was no way in Hylia Mipha would ever forgice herself.
She'd told him stay put when she left. Then he made her tell him to go back when he'd followed her to the end of the first bridge. She told him again to go back when he did not do this, and followed her to the second bridge. And then across it, towards the wooden spiked barricades set high along the path in preparation. Far ahead of them, a knot of monsters seethed in a hissing and growling cacophony a mile down the road.
The watch party had given their report (and Sidon, in his adolescence, had been only recently allowed to attend these meetings); they'd been biding their time in their slipshod encampment of twine and driftwood, but they could surge on toward the Domain at any hour. They would stop them as they would soon repel all evil and malice—Prince Sidon and Princess Mipha, together in a glorious harmony of their combined arts, indomitable. Surely, destiny started today.
Now, if only destiny had told Mipha that.
"You see, you're doing it again! You doubt me!" Sidon strode ahead to cut insistently into Mipha's path, blocking her route to the barricade. His impassioned eyes burned like golden fires, if frustrated, if exasperated. "You praise my progress, note my skill to anyone who asks, but you doubt the moment it matters! Why?"
