I decided to check out the Mountain Pass entrance to Shadowlands to see Kar'niss and the reactions from companions which made me chuckle

Astarion

By the gods. One of Lolth's abominations.

Then again, you'd have to be mad to spend your days marching through this gloom.

Our new friend with the myriad limbs seem to know this route well. I just hope we can keep the ruse up once we reach our destination...

I love my drider man and he deserves more attention. Head full of Kar’niss.

(thoughts that aren’t proofread)

When you first met him, you thought of him unhinged. He spoke in almost a manic way. Every word fast and nearly stuttered- his patience worn thin at anything that inconvenienced him. It wasn’t until you reached Moonrise did he ease. You managed to find him roaming the area and eventually built a sort of… relationship.

His hands are cold and his nails are sharp. Whenever he smiles at you it’s all fangs and razor teeth. The way his many eyes land and gawk at you should be eery. You should be unsettled by his eight legs and his drow counterpart prickling with spider fur. It’s anything but that, quite honestly. The way he’s so fiercely protective and worships you swells your heart and you plant a kiss on his forehead as he holds you bridal style. Drider were outcasts- ashamed for who they are. You’re as beautiful as his queen, he says, and evermore his. He would never let you go. He’d never let you’d be corrupted by the darkness of the forest or any other.

As he cradles your face, you know he speaks the truth. He bares his heart to you as much as he bares his fangs in every smile.
