Schumacher's attitude a 'positive surprise', says WEC team-mate Lapierre
Sportscar racing veteran Nicolas Lapierre says he was "positively surprised" by Alpine team-mate Mick Schumachers attitude from the first day the German stepped into a World Endurance Championship hypercar.
Former Haas Formula 1 racer and current Mercedes reserve Schumacher showed a desire to adjust himself to the multi-driver format of sportscar racing instead of going out for individual glory, according to four-time Le Mans 24 Hours class winner Lapierre. "When Mick came to his first test, it was in Jerez," said Schumacher’s Alpine teammate, Lapierre. "For me, when drivers come in from single-seaters, even more Formula 1, there are two options. Either he wants to be a real sportscar driver, share the car and work with his teammates, or he just wants to shine. I was very positively surprised with Mick since day one. He really wanted to work as a team, and it suits him quite good, as well. And his pace was straight away very fast. This we knew [already]; we had no doubt about this. The only thing now is to have a little bit of traffic management and this kind of stuff, because this is very new [to him]." Schumacher first got a chance to test the Alpine A424 LMDh last October and impressed the French manufacturer enough to earn a seat in its line-up for the 2024 season, joining team stalwarts Lapierre and Matthieu Vaxiviere aboard the #36 car. Prior to his Hypercar move, the German driver spent two seasons competing in F1 with Haas from 2021-22, scoring a best finish of sixth on his second visit to the Red Bull Ring for the Austrian Grand Prix. He remains on Mercedes' books in a reserve role in 2024 and, if required, can be called in by the Brackley-based squad even on WEC race weekends. Lapierre believes Schumacher's experience of working with the title-winning Mercedes F1 squad helps bring a new perspective to the Signatech-run Alpine team. "He is bringing some good stuff from Formula 1 because he is working with one of the best teams on the Formula 1 grid," he said, "so this brings us some fresh ideas, some new feedback, which has also been very helpful in this project." Schumacher spent the 2023 season on the sidelines after being dropped by Haas in 2023 in favour of countryman Nico Hulkenberg, electing not to compete in any other category during his first year out of F1. The German driver reiterated that he is looking for comeback opportunities in grand prix racing, but made it clear his current focus is on his Hypercar programme with Alpine. "I'm here now. What the future holds is quite difficult to predict and foresee," said the 24-year-old. "Obviously my focus for now is WEC, but I would be lying if I would say that I don't have an eye on Formula 1. There are a lot of things happening right now. Who knows what opportunities are presented to myself in a couple of months' time. I will deal with that when it's time." Schumacher, Lapierre and Vaxiviere finished twelfth overall in Saturday's opening round of WEC in Qatar, three laps down on the winning #6 Porsche Penske LMDh of Laurens Vanthoor, Kevin Estre and Andre Lotterer. Alpine stable-mates Paul-Loup Chatin, Ferdinand Habsburg and Charles Milesi scored points in eighth place aboard the #5 Alpine A424 to lead a successful return to Hypercar for the French manufacturer. "We had the pace to fight for the points, which was a bit unexpected, so we can be happy about it and proud of ourselves," said Schumacher. "It’s great the sister car managed to score."

Close to 500 jets ordered, Dassault decides to increase Rafale's production rate
With 211 Rafale jets still needing to be delivered and more potential orders, Dassault wants to increase the rate to be able to fulfill its deliveries.
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 10/03/2024 - 18:40in Military
With Rafale's sales increasing, Dassault now needs to increase the production rate, as the deliveries of the French fighter were below the planned for 2023. And that's what the French manufacturer announced for this year.
The French manufacturer received 60 new orders for its fighter only last year, with 42 of them for the French Air Force, with deliveries ?? between 2027 and 2032. Another 18 jets came from an order from Indonesia this year, as a final part of a contract signed in 2022 for a total of 42 Rafales.
With these orders, the total number of Rafale orders is approaching the 500 mark. In 2022 alone, Dassault won 92 orders.
Tumblr media
Even with the number of orders increasing, the number of deliveries is currently short of these market successes. Dassault wanted to deliver 15 Rafales to customers in 2023, but only 13 were delivered. According to the head of the company, Eric Trappier, this will change soon. “We are working for Phase 2,” the managing director of Dassault said on March 6 at the annual press conference. This means production should increase to almost two jets per month, with an initial goal of 20 deliveries for 2024.
In the medium term, according to Trappier, the annual production rate is expected to continue to increase and stabilize by at least 23 copies from 2025. However, the "challenges" in the supply chain must first be overcome, the head of Dassault emphasized in his statement. It's "a bit like the egg and the chicken," says Trappier: "If you had told me five years ago that we were moving on to the next phase, I would have said that we couldn't predict this, we should sell first. Therefore, there is a limit to increasing the production chains, but we actually need some time." However, the final assembly in Mérignac offers enough space for new advances.

Rafale from the Indian Air Force.
"We are making the transition to the production of 3 aircraft per month, from a rate that was lower in units in 2020, when production was stagnant," explained Eric Trappier.
Of a total of 495 Rafales ordered - 234 for France and 261 for export, not including used jets ?? - 211 would still need to be produced at the end of 2023, 141 for exports and 70 for France. On the one hand, this delay guarantees the future of the program for at least ten years, but on the other hand, Dassault is still committed to making customers more enthusiastic about Rafale.

Rafale from the Hellenic Air Force.
According to Trappier, discussions continue with Saudi Arabia, which may order 54 Rafales. However, here you are competing with the Eurofighter and the Boeing F-15EX.
The French Air and Space Force is currently preparing for the planned Rafale F5 standard. Dassault expects to receive its first French order later this year.

On This Day in F1: March 2nd
Present: Bahrain Grand Prix
History: 2010 Team US F1 Shuts Down
On March 2nd, the first of 24 races for the 2024 season happened. The Bahrain Grand Prix kicked off the season just as anyone could have expected.
Max Verstappen ahead of the field by approx. 22 seconds, a Red Bull 1-2, and everyone except Red Bull having issues with their cars. We got almost an exact repeat of the Bahrain 2023 podium with Max in P1, Checo in P2, and a Spanish driver in P3 (Fernando last year, Carlos this year). Though the gap between P1 and P2 doubled since last year’s 11.987 seconds.

14 years ago, on March 2nd, it was announced that Team US F1 would be shutting down.
Tumblr media
In 2009, Team US F1 had found a place on the 2010 F1 entry list. However, by the 2010 preseason, things were looking dim for the American team.
Tumblr media
(Team US F1 Type 1 design with major components revealed)
The team had been struggling to get their car ready for the season and had asked for an allowance to not race during the first four races of the season. But with financial problems, primary investor — YouTube cofounder Chad Hurley — linked to discussions with other teams, and the team higher ups being accused of mismanagement, the team informed its employees on March 2nd that they were no longer required. This effectively shut down the American outfit twelve days before the first race of the season.
The team principal, Ken Anderson, and sporting director, Peter Windsor, were reportedly not present when employees were informed of operations shutting down. Additionally, calls to the factory had gone unanswered as the phone number temporarily not working.
The withdrawal of Team US F1 allowed the Serbian Formula One team — Stefan GP — to make another attempt at entering for the 2010 season. The team had been rejected during the application process in 2009. And in 2010, the FIA rejected them once more due to how soon the season would be starting. Despite its many attempts over the years, Stefan GP never made it on to the entry list for Formula One.
The Team US F1 factory was based in Charlotte, North Carolina approximately 30 minutes (or 26.6 miles/42.8 kilometers) away from the Haas F1 factory in Kannapolis, North Caroline.

GPIC - Gulf Petrochemical Complex - Sitra Island, Bahrain
The winter between December 1984 and January 1985 was particularly harsh in Italy, characterized by increasingly lower temperatures. Between 13 and 17 January 1985, a depression centered on the Corsican Sea caused what is still remembered in Milan today as the snowfall of the century or the snowfall of '85, constituting the heaviest snowfall recorded in Milan in the 20th century. The snowfall caused serious damage. After four days of real storm, January 17th 1985 the Sports Hall collapsed in Milan due to the excessive weight of the snow that had accumulated on the roof. In this certainly not festive atmosphere, I received a call from an engineering company in Milan, INTECH, an already a supplier of services to SNAMPROGETTI, with whom I soon agreed to leave for Bahrain.
From the SNAMPROGETTI office in San Donato, the Head of HR office Mr. Cincotta reassured me:  ''It's a temporary destination, just a few months, waiting that construction of new Agadir International Airport will start … don't worry…'' I stayed there for 4 years…….
Mind you, not that I minded: Bahrain was a liveable place (drinkable, in the language of shipbuilders) especially because it also allowed families to reach the employees involved in the project. I then left at the beginning of March 1984, with a flight via Kuwait. I arrived at Manama airport and believe it or not there was someone waiting for me! A local guy holding a board with my name written on it almost correctly: Brino Sirino….
Bahrain is a small Emirate in the Persian Gulf (Kaleejj el Arabi) made up of a main island and a myriad of uninhabited islets. It is the ''poorest'' Gulf state, relative to its surrounding neighbors. Above all, Saudi Arabia provides the Emirate with considerable economic aid as the ruling house of Bahrain, like the Al Saud, is of the Sunni faith, in spite to a majority Shiite population The Saudis would never allow a Shiite regime to be established 25 km from the Saudi coast with the approval of the ''Great Enemy'' Iran. And then Bahrain was a sort of ''playground'' for Saudis looking for entertainment just outside their front door. This therefore explains the reason for the economic support to Bahrain by the Saudis. For instance, one of the largest oil well in Saudi waters has always been exploited for free by the Bahraini oil industry. The construction of the 23 km long bridge that connects Saudi Arabia to the island of Bahrain was financed by the Saudis. The free sale of alcohol in Manama by shops managed by a company belonging to the ruling Bahraini family is another concession aimed at helping the Emir Al Khalifa's coffers. In 1986, shortly before the opening of the Dahran – Manama bridge to traffic, King Fahad proposed to the Emir Sheik Eissa the prohibition of alcohol sale, promising to compensate the Emir for the lost earnings: an offer returned to the sender. On top of all this, about 50% of the Southern territory of the island of Bahrain is off limits, due to the largest naval base leased to the US in the Gulf. However, Manama has since then been a modern city, full of skyscrapers, luxury hotels and shopping centres.
AWALI I was housed in Awali, a village of wooden houses built by the Americans of Caltex in 1939, when the first refinery in Bahrain (and the entire Persian Gulf) was built. Someone later told me that around 1942 some Italian planes departing from a base in Egypt tried to bomb the refinery, which produced fuel for the English army. Not having enough fuel to guarantee the return, the planes dropped their bombs into the sea just before the island of Bahrain, and aborted the mission. The village of Awali is located almost in the center of the main island of Bahrain, and its wooden houses are reminiscent of those from the Lassie TV series in every way, including anti-mosquito doors. The houses are 2 and 4 bedrooms, with a large living-dining room, kitchen and two bathrooms. I was assigned to a small 4 bedroom house, but when I got there I was the only occupant. The village also had a club with a partially covered swimming pool (to prevent the summer sun from making the water too hot) and tennis courts, to which we had free access.
RONCI ATHOS A few days after my arrival, around 3.00 AM, I heard some noises: the sound of a car stopping, doors slamming, and than someone throwing something (I than saw that it was suitcases…) inside the house. , on the wooden floor. Then the door of my room suddenly open, and someone said:  Are you asleep?  Before you arrived I was asleep…….  However...... - says the guy - I'm not going to stay here…….tomorrow I'll talk to the HR and then I'll see .....  Okay…. I say…. do as you like but let me sleep now….
For the record, Mr. Ronci Athos – Umbrian from Narni – was still there in 1993, in the place that 8 years earlier he had said he would leave as soon as possible….
THE PROJECT Our client was called GPIC - Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company - a mixed Bahraini, Saudi and Kuwaiti capital company - and was part of the economic aid package from the rich Gulf countries to the ''poor'' relative of Bahrain. Later, at the time of the commissioning and start up of the plants - we would have transformed the acronym into Gruppo Pensionati Italiani Comerint, given the average age of the people that the then company 'ENI had sent to proceed with the commissioning of the plants. The project was in its final phase, and was directed by none other than the P.I. Manoli Benito Italo. Bahrain would be his last construction site personally managing, before becoming Director of the CSO Service of SNAMPROGETTI. The works were even ahead of schedule, so SNAMPROGETTI enjoyed a lot of credit with the Client. Upon delivery of the plant, the Client gifted an extra bonus of 4 million dollars to SNAMPROGETTI for its performance. The credit was than canceled in 1990, during the first Gulf War. GPIC invited SNAMPROGETTI, BECHTEL and UHUDE to provide an initial feasibility study for a urea plant to be built alongside the existing ammonia and methanol plants. BECHTEL replied that she was not interested, SNAMPROGETTI sent a fax requesting an advance of 11,000 USD for the preliminary study. The Germans from HUDE, sensing the deal, in the midst of the Gulf War, sent a representative to Bahrain to discuss the possibility of building the urea plant. In 1992 the belated SANMPROGETTI envoy to Manama was detained at the entrance gate of the plant for a couple of hours, only to be informed that GPIC had officially commissioned UHUDE with the preliminary study.
COMMISSIONING & START UP The long phase of pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up of the plants soon began. Which were built on a so-called reclaimed land (an artificial island) created by dredging the shallow seabed, characteristic of the Bahraini island. The artificial island - equipped for safety reasons with an outer gate and an inner gate - was connected to the mainland by a causeaway approximately 3 kilometers long, and a second causeaway joined the island to the loading arms of the products, 10 kilometers further into the sea. This is to allow ships to carry out loading operations in complete safety, without the risk of running aground in the shallow seabed. There were many wrecks of ships stranded along the channel dug by the open sea up to the port of Manama - this much to the happiness of the divers, given that the wrecks had been transformed into sanctuaries of Persian Gulf tropical fish. However, I must say a word to describe the characters who are part of the commissioning – start up. These particular people, who believe they are a sort of ''NASA scientists'' intent on launching the SPACE SHUTTLE into space. As soon as they arrived at site their aim was: ''Okay, get rid of Construction people, we're here now''. The fact is that, apart from 3 or 4 of them who really knew what they were doing and were experts in the difficult process of putting the plants into operation (very dangerous indeed) all the others followed suit: ''they claimed to know'' and the less they knew, the more they pretended they were knewing. I met someone who, as soon as they heard someone approaching, started to talk about chemical formulas, operating pressures, and so on, just to put on airs. In any case, within 3 months the start up team had managed to get the two plants up and running, even if the (rhetorical) question that was circulating was - Did you make the methanol?'' ''no…I didn't…So who did it?? No one knows.... ''
Tawfeeq Mohammed Rasul Almansoor - GPIC President The President of GPIC, however, did not seem entirely satisfied, and he demonstrated it with a series of actions that were surprising to say the least. One day Mr. Tawfiq arrived at high speed at the outer gate driving his metallic blue Rolls Royce. The presence of smat guy on the guard post prevented him from ending up against the bars at the outer check point.
Mr Tawfiq continued on the causeway at full speed and the inner gate guard, warned by radio by his colleague at the outer gate, promptly raised the bars. The President's Rolls entered the area of the Administrative offices, where he finally stopped. Tawfiq got out of the car in a rage, and ordered the Security Chief who met him to organize a meeting within 15 minutes. Participants in addition to him were the Security Chef, the Director of COMERINT and the Security Advisor. We mortals later learned that the Security Chef – an British guy, former officer in Hes Majesty's army, had been fired on the spot – Reason given by Mr. Tawifiq:
''Two gates were opened for me and I was able to drive my car into the plant – and this was because at the sight of my Rolls Royce the guards thought I was driving the car. What if he was a terrorist? What if I suddenly went crazy and wanted to attack the plant? What if I had been kidnapped by terrorists who were hiding in the car filled with explosives??'' (I remember that the Rolls Royce was equipped with tinted mirror windows which did not allow anyone to see who was driving the car.) A few days later, a second episode, again with Mr. Tawifiq as absolute protagonist. He had gone between the Main Control Room and Plant Laboratory, in a fairly hidden corner of the plant, and had broken the glass of one of the fire alarms that send a signal to the Fire Department control room. He than set off the stopwatch on his Rolex Platinum Diamond Pearlmaster to see how long it would take for the firefighters to arrive. After 11 interminable minutes - I would like to point out that the Fire Station was about 700 meters from the place where Mr. Tawfiq was stationed - the firefighters arrived to find that it was a false alarm. Again an urgent meeting was called, where this time the HSE manager lost his job. The reason for such a delay – which according to Tawfiq could have led to a disaster in the event of a real fire – was that on the synoptic panel of the fire brigade control room it was not possible to identify precisely where the alarm had went off. Just a week after the episode of the false fire, the start-up of the plants had been successfuly done. The plant was even proding more ammonia and methanol than expected, around 1,200 tons per day per product, instead of the 1,000 tons expected. But many of the ''COMERINT Pensioners'' who had participated in the commissioning were still circulating in the plant. As they say in Southern Italy, ''they were mugging''. Obviously COMERINT was looking for all the plausible excuses to keep them in service, given the daily rates with which they were invoiced to the Customer. (an average of $1,200/day per person). The situation between COMERINT and GPIC had become very tense, with daily requests from the latter to demobilize the technicians. One day Tawfiq lost patience, and went to the Main Control Room - still dressed in the traditional white disdasha, ghutra on his head, he surprised a swarm of Italians having coffee, talking about football, playing on the computer. Tawfiq, who had been taken like an ordinary local, turned to the bystanders waving his arms in the Arab manner and said:  ''What is this? Coffee shop''?  The shift manager, at that moment sitting on the desk with a cup of coffee in his hand and his legs dangling, stood up and in a benevolent manner, took Tawfiq by the arm (a very serious mistake as per Arab habits) pointed to a door at the end of the corridor and told him :  Shouff (look) coffee shop for Arab is there, at the end of corridor – accompanying it all with a laugh. Tawifiq, according to bystanders, didn't show any sign of upset - he left the Control Room, called the Italian Director on the phone. Mr Fiorentino, COMERINT top manager. Mr Tawfiq ordered that all those present at the unfortunate episode were boarded on the first plane to Italy. The offices in the North wing of the Control Room were closed until further notice. But where the President of GPIC gave his best was at the final meeting with Construction Director Benito Italo Manoli and the entire SAMPROGETTI staff present. During the meeting, numbers of questions were raised which mainly concerned the safety of the systems. At a certain point Mr. Tawfiq turned directly to the Italian Doctor Mr. Busonero asking :  Doctor, in case of explosion of one or more tanks of ammonia or methanol, either due to a terrorist attack, or due to an accident, what could be the consequences?
Dead silence in the meeting room… gazes of all those present frantically crossing each other… Mr. Manoli trying to communicate via brain waves with Doct. Busonero, while coughs and noises of chairs moving rang out in the room…. ..and finally the Doctor, red in the face and with drops of sweat running down his forehead (despite the air conditioning being set to 19 degrees C – Tawfiq's favorite temperature) Doct. Busonero replied: - Well…Mr. Tawifiq…with a prevailing wind from the South-East to the North-West, the inhabitants of Manama would have from 7 to 10 minutes to recommend each one's soul to God…''
It was freezing in the meeting room, no one said a word, everyone was waiting for the President's counter-reply. Tawfiq stood up and nodded to Mr. Manoli who followed him into President's private office. The next day there was no trace of Doct. Busonero. We learned that he had been put on a plane to Rome before midnight, the deadline that Tawfiq had indicated to Mr. Manoli. Contrary, Doct. Busonero would have been arrested for telling the truth.

ferrari driver! eren jaeger x mechanic/engineer! mikasa ackerman
description: “Welcome to the 2024 Formula One Saudi Arabia Grand Prix. For those who are just joining in, what we are currently watching is the new lead mechanic at Ferrari physically signing the scarlet chassis of their newest and youngest driver, Eren Jaeger.”
“For the second time this season too, Martin, and based on those extraordinary results from Bahrain, if I were a betting man, I’d bet we will see that MKA signature paired with that driver number 139 racing for every podium this season.”
tag/disclaimer(s): written as camera angles and commentary between radio hosts (Alex and Martin); eremika (Ferrari driver! eren x mechanic! mikasa); friends to lovers dynamic
**Race Day, Saudi Arabia Grand Prix**
“It is a gorgeous night all the way from Jeddah. The camera showcasing a beautiful view of the four year old circuit under the flood lights as we prepare for the final event of the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix.”
“Quite right about it being gorgeous conditions, Martin, the track’s not too hot, there’s no forecast of rain, lots of space for DRS. I think we are about to have one of the best races for the young circuit.”
*all cars are undergoing the formation lap. the driver lineup and the grid are shown to the side of the live view*
“It was a tight qualifying yesterday for the top ten, all those drivers are very eager and hungry for some points during today’s race. In tenth place there we have the young Armin Arlet in his second season in the Williams, his best ever qualifying position in Formula One. Right in ninth is his more experienced teammate Connie Springer in the other Williams.”
“Jean Kirstein is having a tough time in that Mercedes this season, pulling a qualifying position of eighth. The worst starting position for his career. And right in hand with Kirstein, we have Erwin Smith starting seventh in the McLaren after facing a gearbox penalty, his worst start in about a decade.”
“Smith is going to have to push hard during this race to skate past that the row in front. On that row we have Bertoldt Hoover in the RB Honda in sixth, the best starting position of his career and for RB Honda this season.”
“It’s almost a shame, Martin, that timid Hoover is sandwiched between Smith and Porco Galliard in that scarlet Ferrari in fifth.”
“It’ll make for an epic start, Alex. To add to the excitement, we have a driver returning to Formula One after an off-season sitting in the other McLaren this Grand Prix: Zeke Jaeger, in fourth. Substituting in for Flock as he’s out for an undetermined amount of time with a pretty severe appendicitis infection.”
“That’s tough for Flock, can only hope for the speediest of recoveries—but, man, is it good to see Zeke back in a seat for this season. And even more, it’ll make for an interesting race today as we have his very own younger and arguably more successful brother in the fiery Ferrari in third.”
“I wonder if it was indeed his brother’s success in winning the first Grand Prix of the season that really inspired Zeke to come back into the sport. The orange McLaren no less. I believe he mentioned a soft retirement, but there’s nothing soft about him in that McLaren on those hard compact tires, that’s for sure.”
“It’ll be a family reunion to remember as Eren Jaeger starts in the same row. An elegant start to this race weekend after shocking the world and winning his first Grand Prix in Bahrain.”
**camera zooms in on the front of the Ferrari car 139, the MKA circled signature neatly displayed. camera zooms in on helmeted Eren Jaeger in the seat, pulling his visor down and waving. the crowd cheers**
“I mean, listen to that loud Ferrari cheer. Possibly the most dedicated fan base in the sport.”
Alex laughs. “Well, Martin, are they Ferrari fans or Jaeger fans? With third on the grid today, I’m assuming he’s looking for a repeat victory.” He pauses and returns to the grid order. “Topping off the grid we’ve got another Redbull 1, 2, with Reiner Braun in first and Levi Ackerman in second.”
**cars lining into position after the formation lap. camera focuses on safety car lining up behind. lights turn on in ascending order**
“You can see the sweat on that Redbull team principal’s brow as you just know Ackerman is itching to beat his teammate this season—2023 world champion Reiner Braun—when perhaps the real competition is in his rear-view mirror.”
**five lights go out. cars start down the straight towards the first corner**
“That’s lights out as we have now begun the first lap as Braun maintains the lead with yet another brilliant start. Ackerman and the Jaeger brothers extremely close behind with great starts themselves.”
“This’ll be really quite thrilling, Martin, having two brothers racing against each other for opposite teams in the paddock. I’m not sure that’s ever happened before.”
“If my formula two, three, and four history is correct, these brothers have never professionally raced each other outside of karts.”
“Honestly, Martin, I’m just glad to see Zeke back in a seat after being replaced by veteran Miche Zacharius, who started and is currently keeping that Mercedes in fifteenth position.”
*drones follow the group of four cars (Smith, Hoover, Galliard, and Zeke) as they clump around the corner. Zeke pulls away from Galliard, but Smith passes Hoover).
“From all appearances, so he is. Look at the way Zeke is defending that fourth position from Galliard in the second Ferrari. An excellent defense from the older driver, who is now leading off into the first DRS zone.”
“And what a great maneuver by Smith back at turn 4, going around the inside of Hoover who just hasn’t felt out that RB Honda enough to defend that sixth place position.”
“Look at how that McLaren speeds down those straights even without DRS enabled, Alex. You can see it with Smith, and you can see it again with Zeke as the camera brings us back to the driver entering his first Grand Prix with McLaren after a successful two seasons with Mercedes.”
*drones follow Zeke in the orange McLaren. Porco is close behind in the other Ferrari.*
“I wonder if he’s starting to sweat, sandwiched between two Ferrari’s. One of them Eren Jaeger, no less, who’s off to a brilliant start for the race.”
*camera cuts to eagle-eye view of Eren Jaeger in Ferrari car 139, close to the Redbull in front.”
“And what’s remarkable, Alex, is the sight of that MKA from up above.”
“It’s like I’m pavlov-trained, Martin, I get excited just seeing it! A visual confirmation of a podium-worthy car. A competitive, championship-worthy chassis.”
Martin chuckles. “Assuming no one bumps or crashes into him. Let’s check in with his radio:”
*Ferrari radio to Eren Jaeger goes off.*
“Eren, Zeke in the McLaren is 1 second behind. 1 second behind,” the race engineer informs.
“I don’t give a fuck about Zeke. What about the redbull?” Eren’s voice is still audible despite the static and helmet.
“We are 0.5 seconds behind Ackerman, 2.5 seconds behind Braun.”
*camera follows Ferrari car number 139 around the track as it heads down the straight, into a DRS zone*
Martin’s laughing. “What we just heard is Ferrari’s race engineer telling Jaeger, ‘look, our battle is with the McLaren behind us that’s about to barrel down that straight.’ With Jaeger saying, ‘No. My pace is good, this car is good. My race is with the Redbulls ahead.’”
“You have to admire the tenacity of the young drivers now, Martin, they grew up in these faster karts, racing each other, chasing for these podiums. It’s especially true for these two brothers.”
“Well, Alex, I do wonder if perhaps it is because that McLaren is operated by his brother that Eren dismissed the team’s strategy so openly.”
*lap 35. drones follow Ferrari car 139 as it chases behind the Ackerman in the Redbull. The orange McLaren is extremely close behind the Ferrari*
“We are about to see the battle for third podium position as the Jaeger brothers exit turn 23 into the third DRS zone.”
“That McLaren is doing surprisingly well on those old tires keeping up with that MKA Ferrari. Eren cuts the corner slightly early to defend from Zeke, and ends up oversteering maybe a tad too much into turn 24.”
“McLaren fans everywhere hoping the younger driver left an opening for the veteran to slip through. Both cars are enabling DRS as Zeke tilts to the outside to go the long way around the scarlet chassis.”
*the orange and red cars barrel down the straight towards turn 26. The nose of the McLaren is starting to inch ahead*
“There’s something no team has been able to match this season or last season, Martin, and that is McLaren’s ability to reduce that drag and speed down a straight. Look at how that orange McLaren is nosing ahead.”
“Eren Jaeger is pushing that Ferrari hard to keep that space between the McLaren and the edge of the track and—oh!”
*Zeke cuts the corner early, tries to force Eren onto the brakes to convince him to back down and fall back into fourth position.*
*Eren doesn’t brake or turn in time. The Ferrari drives over the top of the McLaren halo. The bottom of the Ferrari gets caught on the front of the McLaren chassis. Both cars skid off the track into the barrier. Both cars are DNF (did not finish) and are retired from the race*
“With Zeke’s sudden turn there, that Ferrari had a front wheel lockup and ran right over the top of that McLaren. With only 15 laps to go, Eren and Zeke Jaeger are out of the race!”
*Ferrari car radio:*
“Eren, are you okay?” It’s Mikasa asking instead of his race engineer.
“For fucks sake!” Eren groans and hits the steering wheel in frustration. “He pushed me off the track! Left me no fucking room!”
“Yeah, I agree. Vasseur is talking to the stewards now.”
Eren scoffs at the situation. “Sorry about the car.”
She chortles. “Don’t worry about it. We’ll make a new one.”
*camera focuses on Eren hopping out of the car and walking over to the McLaren. Zeke makes his way out of the car around the same time Eren stalked over to the McLaren driver’s seat.*
*McLaren car radio:*
“Zeke, you okay?” the race engineer asks.
Zeke ignores the race engineer and shouts to Eren instead. Pointing aggressively. “You fucking asshole! Were you even thinking?!”
*Zeke shoves Eren on the side of the track. Both still have their helmets on. Eren reciprocates the shove*
*Heard over Eren’s microphone.*
“That’s what fucking happens when you don’t make room!”
*Heard over Zeke’s microphone*
“Learn to fucking drive!”
*drones pan out over the wreckage*
“For those of us listening in, what we just witnessed was— Well, what exactly did we just witness, Martin?”
“While we await to hear an official verdict from the stewards, but from up here it seems like Zeke tried to push his younger brother off the track. A move that resulted in both of them being out of the second Grand Prix of the year.”
“Thank goodness they’ve both walked away just from that accident, Martin.”
Martin chuckles. “Yes, it’s great they walked away from the crash but now the two brothers are being pulled apart off the track. Look at how Eren Jaeger is being dragged and sent walking back to the paddock.”
“Definitely needed a cool-off lap. I’m sure he was intent on winning this Grand Prix too and now that opportunity has been lost. Stolen from him one could say, along with all those championship points he could’ve scored.”
“As if tensions weren’t high enough in the family, with Zeke being dropped by Mercedes the same year Eren is picked up by Ferrari. now the two have crashed into each other and prevented both from finishing the race.”
“Well, Martin, a shame for those two drivers but you can practically hear the smile and wave from Smith and Galliard as they now pass the wreckage and have that chance to fight for that podium.”

*winks at your from across the continent, very mysteriously and anonymously* rank all the GPs from sexiest to least sexy ;)
I hope you meant the sexiest to least sexy GPs of this season, because they're all I know here they are.
Tumblr media
Sexiest — Singapore GP. Why?
Ferrari radio: “Lando 0.8 behind with DRS.” Carlos: “Yeah, it’s on purpose.”
Hands down the SEXIEST team radio of this season, and the most entertaining GP I’ve watched until now. “We know about the bromance, Martin. Sainz and Norris, what a double act they’ve been.” Two former teammates and close friends working together without any prior planning to come out in P1 and P2? And did you see the post-race celebrations? Their embrace against the fireworks and the sea of fans cheering? That image lives rent free in my mind. Singapore GP 2023 will forever live rent free in my mind. My heart was bursting with love for them.
2. Sexiest / Lando Norris leads the British GP — Lando’s home race and my second favorite race of this season. I tuned in just in time to watch Lando’s overtake of Max at the beginning of the race and I’ll never forget the sound of the crowd cheering for him. Then there’s the Budapest (Lando-broke-Max’s-porcelain-trophy-with-his-champagne-popping) GP and Austin.
Suzuka is somewhere between the second tier and “Okay, what damage do you have? Talent.” (these are all Lando catchphrases btw!) because he. did. not. kiss. his. trophy. and neither did Oscar. Ugh! Had he kissed it, Japan would have easily been in the second tier, but now it has been demoted to the third tier.
3. In Mexico, Lando climbed 12 positions from P17 to P5, which in my book is incredibly sexy. Apart from his collision with Checo, which puts Abu Dhabi in the “Chaos? Chaos.” tier, I’d say that P5 is a pretty sexy result.
4. Oh Qatar…Qatar was a rollercoaster of emotions. McLaren won a double podium in the end, but we’ll never forget how HARD Lando was on himself after he got his lap time deleted during qualifying. It broke my heart to see him so down. It's a good thing that he recovered quickly after that.
5. And the least sexy title goes to Las Vegas, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. Lando’s DNF in LV after that terrible crash was a real heart stopper. Also, he had to pit six times in Bahrain.
Lando and Oscar went from finishing P17 and P20 in the first race of the season to P2 (and P1 for Oscar after the Qatari Sprint). Final result: 10 / 10 sexy season, will root for the same outcome or an even better one in 2024.

Why?
Published on: August 12, 2023 by  :Daymond Duck
On Aug. 2, 2023, Anne Graham Lotz (daughter of Billy Graham) wrote: “If I believe what He (Jesus) said about sin, salvation, forgiveness, the love of God the Father, eternal life, His own identity, and all the other big truths (John 3:16–17; 5:17–21; 11:25–26.), then it stands to reason that what He said about His return is equally true. Jesus is coming! The glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, is imminent! (Titus 2:13).
Ann’s statement is right on target, but it triggers questions in my mind:
If Christians believe the Bible is the Word of God, why do so many doubt or ignore what it says about the return of Jesus?
If Jesus is coming back to make this world better (establish peace, justice, and righteousness on earth), why aren’t more Christians excited about it?
If the return of Jesus is our blessed hope, why are so many Christians living without hope today?
If the Rapture of the Church is near, why aren’t more Christians talking about the dangers of being left behind, taking the Mark of the Beast, etc.?
I suppose there are many reasons why (unbelief; complicated subject; scary, etc.), but make no mistake about it, Jesus is coming back ready or not, and the number of people that think we are getting close is rapidly growing.
Anyway, here are some recent current events that seem to indicate that we are getting close to the return of Jesus for His church (Rapture).
One, concerning war between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon: on Aug. 1, 2023, Israeli Prime Min. Netanyahu met with Israeli military and security officials to discuss Hezbollah’s actions on Israel’s northern border with Lebanon.
They concluded that the threat of war is the greatest it has been in the last 17 years (since the end of the Second Lebanon War in 2006).
Southern Lebanon is part of the Land that God said Israel will get at the end of the age.
Put another way: Hezbollah is occupying part of the Promised Land and will lose it if it starts a third war with Israel.
(More: On Aug. 3, 2023, Israel notified the UN Security Council that the situation on its border with Lebanon is a powder keg. This writer is not aware of the UN doing anything to calm the situation.)
(More: On Aug. 8, 2023, Israel’s Defense Min. warned Hezbollah and Lebanon that Israel is prepared to strike all of Hezbollah’s assets and return Lebanon to the stone age if Israel is attacked.)
(More: On Aug. 8, 2023, it was reported that Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and other nations are warning their citizens to leave Lebanon. It was also reported that Israel is trying to prepare for casualties and damage in the event that they are struck by thousands of rockets in the next few days.)
Two, concerning the coming global famine: on Aug. 2, 2023, Ukraine’s Pres. Zelensky accused Russia of trying to create a global catastrophe by disrupting the global food supply and collapsing global food markets.
Zelensky was referring to the fact that Russia is preventing the shipment of Ukrainian food exports to other nations, causing the price of food to rise and increasing hunger and famine in Africa.
Three, concerning the 2024 elections: on Aug. 3, 2023, it was reported that a man known for shady dealings, George Soros, has given more than $750,000 and created a political action committee (PAC) to convert the state of Texas from Republican to Democrat.
Large contributions like this one are one reason why many politicians do the bidding of globalists instead of the voters.
The politicians have been bought and paid for.
Four, concerning wickedness (as in the days of Noah): on Aug. 4, 2023, it was reported that crime in Washington D.C. has gotten so bad that the Mexican government (home of the drug cartels) is warning its citizens to avoid going there.
Five, concerning the coming economic collapse: on Aug. 4, 2023, Michael Hartnett, a strategist at the Bank of America (based on Congressional Budget Office data), predicted that America’s national debt will rise $5.2 billion a day every day for the next ten years.
(More: On Aug. 7, 2023, Moody’s cut the ratings of ten small to mid-size banks in the U.S. and said it may soon have to downgrade some of America’s largest banks.)
(More: On Aug. 8, 2023, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York reported that in the second quarter of 2023, credit card debt in the U.S. reached $1.03 trillion.)
(More: On Aug. 8, 2023, at the time this is being written, all the oil being used in the world is being sold in U.S. dollars. On Aug. 22, 2023, the BRICS nations plan to announce that 60% of the oil being used in the world will be sold in their new gold-backed currency. Many experts say this will eventually cause the value of the dollar to drop significantly.)
Six, concerning an Israeli normalization agreement with Saudi Arabia that would be a big step toward peace: on Aug. 7, 2023, Israeli Prime Min. Netanyahu said he believes the two nations could achieve some form of normalization in the coming months.
Time will tell.
Seven, concerning the ashes of a red heifer and a rebuilt Temple: on Aug. 8, 2023, it was reported that the Jews are only months away from having a red heifer that is old enough to sacrifice.
It has also been reported that the Israeli government has discretely shifted some funds to prepare for purification services and possibly the construction of a third Temple.
According to the report, very little is being said about this because it is an explosive issue.
Eight, concerning the coming cashless society and tracking all buying and selling: the opponent of Chancellor Karl Nehammer in Austria’s upcoming election accused Nehammer of planning to ban cash and track Austria’s citizens.
Nehammer has responded by announcing plans to push a law that guarantees Austrian citizens the right to make purchases with cash.
FYI: God does not send anyone to Hell (all of us are born with a sin nature and destined to go to Hell because we sin), but God has provided a way (Jesus) for everyone to go to Heaven (and He is the only way to get there; John 14:6).
Finally, are you Rapture Ready?
If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.

Suzukas F1 race will move to spring date in 2024 Japanese politician claims | 2024 F1 season
The Japanese Grand Prix will move from its regular late-season slot to a new date in spring in the future, a local politician has claimed. Keiji Furuya, a member of Japan’s house of representatives, claimed on social media next year’s Japanese Grand Prix will take place the week after Formula E’s new round in Tokyo. The FIA announced yesterday the inaugural Tokyo EPrix will take place on March 30th, indicating the Japanese Grand Prix will be held on April 7th. A spokesperson for F1 declined to comment on the claimed date change for the race, which will be held in September this year. Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah Corniche Circuit is expected to take over from Bahrain as the opening round on the 2024 F1 calendar. The promoters of the two Middle Eastern races wish to hold their events outside of the Ramadan religious period, which occurs between March 10th and April 9th next year. F1 is also working to rearrange races in order to reduce the amount of travel to ease the strain on teams and reduce emissions, in line with its target of becoming a net zero emitter of carbon by 2030. Moving the Japanese round from the latter half of the year may allow it to be twinned with other flyaway races at the beginning of the season, such as the Australian Grand Prix. Next year’s Japanese GP is the last on the Suzuka circuit’s current contract. However the Mobilityland company which runs Suzuka is owned by Honda, which is likely to continue supporting the race while it participates in the championship. Honda resumed its branding of Red Bull’s power units after its departure at the end of 2021, and will supply its motors to Aston Martin from 2026. The Suzuka area sees average temperatures of 10-19C in April, with average monthly rainfall of 142mm. This year’s race will take place in September, which on average is wetter, seeing 213mm of rain, but also warmer, with temperatures of 21-28C. Taiwan Industrial Valve Market: Forthcoming Trends and Share Analysis by 2030
Tumblr media
The Industrial Valve is Expected to Grow at a Significant Growth Rate, and the Forecast Period is 2023-2030, Considering the Base Year as 2022.
The manufacturing and infrastructure sectors of Taiwan rely heavily on the industrial valve market. Industrial valves are crucial components that regulate the flow of liquids, gases, and other materials in a variety of industrial processes, such as water treatment, oil and gas production, petrochemical, and more.
Industrial valve demand is rising steadily as a result of Taiwan's robust economic expansion and thriving manufacturing sector. Local producers of valves contribute significantly to satisfying this demand by offering a vast array of valves for diverse industrial uses. Furthermore, Taiwan's strategic location and role in global trade made it a desirable hub for valve exports, which fueled the market's expansion even more.
There is fierce competition in the market for market share between local and foreign producers. Taiwan's industrial valve market is anticipated to increase and contribute to the nation's overall industrial development as global industries modernize and adapt to meet the changing needs of different industries.
