Tum Pukaar Lo | Khamoshi | Covered By Karthik Mohan
Tum Pukaar Lo is a wonderful song from the movie Khamoshi. The song has a melancholic vibe but its all about hope. A hope that wounds will heal and those strained relationships, those strained friendships will come back to how they used to be. The protagonist is saying that I hope against all odds that you will come back and we will be the way we used to be... Tumhaara Intezaar Hai.

Just got done recording this classic song called Tere Bina Jiya Nahi Jaye. It is wonderful song originally composed by Fuzon. Its a beautiful and soulful love song. Hope you all enjoy my rendition of this song.

Propaganda
Madhubala (Mughal-e-Azam, Barsaat Ki Raat, Mr. & Mrs. '55)—The Venus of India; heart-throb of all who saw her; responsible for the sexual awakening of every single desi lesbian I know (including me!) And my god, she is breathtakingly beautiful. Look at the subtle grace with which she moves, and that smile - the kind of radiant smile that can make you laugh with sheer delight, or cry because of its hidden pain. Those wild curls! That Cupid's bow! The way she tilts back her head and smiles at you with mischief dancing in her eyes! She has a way of looking at the camera that makes you feel she's sharing a private joke just with you; it's something about that quizzical twist of the lips and eyebrows. As an actress, she is inimitable; she seems to effortlessly inhabit roles ranging from a heart-broken courtesan to a laughter-loving socialite. Fun fact : she's had quite the fan following in Greece! Stelios Kazantidis even wrote a song as a tribute to her.
Ingrid Bergman (Gaslight, Casablanca, Notorious)—Where do I even begin with Ingrid Bergman? I fell in love with her with her astounding performance in the 1956 version of Anastasia -- the best Anastasia movie in large part due to her wonderful and touching performance. She's got this amazing, fascinating intensity to her in whatever role she's in. She commits 100%, and she's got this light in whatever she's in that's stunning. She's utterly convincing no matter what she plays, from an amnesiac possible lost princess, from a nun, from a woman taking her revenge on the town that wronged her, to light romantic comedy. She's never missed in any role I've seen her in! Also she became quite the MILF.
This is round 5 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.
[additional propaganda submitted under the cut.]
Madhubala:
Tumblr media
An icon of Bollywood, who was well known for her beauty and has continued to inspire performances and songs into the 21st century. She was at times described as "the number one beauty of the Indian screen" and "the biggest star in the world".
SHE IS EVERYTHING AHHH. JUST LOOK AT HER SMILE-
Tumblr media
She's been nicknamed the Marilyn Monroe of India and was one of the highest paid actresses in the Hindi film industry (the term Bollywood did not exist yet) during the 1950s. Also an extremely talented dancer and singer
Tumblr media
SHE'S JUST SO STUNNING, like seeing her eyes IMMEDIATELY CAPTIVATES YOU, THE DANCING, THE BEAUTY!!!!!!!!! She worked in Bollywood for over 20 years and passed away at a sad early age of 36, BUT THE IMPACT SHE HAD WAS UNMATCHED!!!!!
Tumblr media
That sassy sideways glance she does always has me WEAK AT THE KNEES. And when she's making silly faces at the camera to mimic someone ahhhh my gay little heart <3
Tumblr media
Ingrid Bergman:
Tumblr media
God, she's fantastic. She's both beautiful and a compelling actor who's more than capable of putting the whole movie on her shoulders if necessary. It's worth noting that while her beauty is conventional, she was seen as refreshingly "natural" with more eyebrows and less makeup than many other leading ladies of the time. She's well known for her role in Casablanca, but in Notorious, Spellbound, (both available on archive.org ) and Gaslight (1944) she shows how immensely capable she is.
Tumblr media
I mean...she's Ingrid Bergman. I feel like that should be enough, you know? She's physically beautiful (her eyes!) but watching her is like a transcendent experience. Her voice, her expressions... beautiful woman, beautiful actor.
I'm a gay man but even I understand her appeal. I'll watch any movie she shows up in. Gorgeous woman.
Just try and watch her movies without sighing wistfully, then get back to me!
Tumblr media
Choosing 1-3 movies where Bergman was at her hottest was agony because, of course, she was always at her hottest. Not just because she was beautiful but because she was absolutely willing to go up against the bs women in Hollywood were constantly dealing with. When exiled from Hollywood for having an affair with Roberto Rossellini, not only did she refuse to apologize at any point, but she went on to say that Hollywood's films had grown stagnant and boring to her. Though she said she appreciated her time working there, she wanted to try new, different techniques (hence starring in Italian neorealist films, working on stage, and acting under directors like Ingmar Bergman). She was not afraid to chase after her artistic ideals and go outside the box regardless of what society had to say about it. From her first movie to her last she killed it. There's so much more to say about Bergman's career and life, but I've already written five million words so I'll stop at that.
ion words so I'll stop at that.
Tumblr media
One of the most incredible actors I've ever seen on film. Her facial expressions are so intricate and poignant that I cannot look away. I'm either ace or straight, but damn she made me question that.
Tumblr media
SEVEN TIME OSCAR NOMINEE QUEEN. Girl also PULLED, having affairs with famously hot men Gary Cooper and Gregory Peck IN ADDITION to her three marriages...sexy
Tumblr media
She has a very natural beauty to her, and she's from Sweden!
She left Hollywood and only became more beautiful. You could drown in her eyes. She can look innocent AND like she's seen it all. She is effortlessly elegant. She's played Joan of Arc (automatically hot) AND was in the movie that coined gaslight as a term. And where would we be without that!
Tumblr media
She was known for being a breath of fresh air on the movie scene at the time with her windswept hair, dreamy smile and soulful eyes. I have loved her in every movie I have seen her in - she was just magnetic!
Where do I even start. There's a neighborly quality to this beautiful, talented actress that makes her hotness one of a kind and her looks impossible to forget
Tumblr media
With a career spanning five decades, Bergman is often regarded as one of the most influential screen figures in cinematic history. Known for her naturally luminous beauty, Bergman spoke five languages – Swedish, English, German, Italian and French – and acted in each.
She's hot, don't get me wrong, but I've always found her very approachable, like she could easily be a member of my friend group
Tumblr media
A lot of the time hotness in a movie is just about words and framing. "You're the most beautiful person here" [vaseline lens] well I sure hope so because that's who you cast. But when, in Casablanca, they call Ingrid Bergman the most beautiful woman in the world... they were not fucking lying. And such a dynamite actor too!! I'd only seen Casablanca up until last year, and there she's confined to love interest. But in Gaslight she was maybe one of the most incredible actors I've ever seen!!!! Goddddd shes so fucking hot and cool.

──── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ────
Your love story with them as the songs
Featuring: Kaeya, Diluc, Albedo, Zhongli, Xiao, Childe, Kazuha, Thoma, Itto, Ayato, Tighnari, Cyno, Alhaitham, Kaveh
Tumblr media
Kaeya:
Now playing: Uhaw (Tayong Lahat)- Dilaw
- Let me guess, you thought it was gonna be Beer by Itchyworms at first didn't you?
- As much that fits our favorite drunkards style, I wanted something different
- At first, he was questioning the feelings he had for you because, why specifically you? Why do you make him feel these things? (Bakit uhaw sa'yong sayaw, bakit ikaw?)
- But now here we are, he's in love with you and will do anything for you he's smitten ('Di bibitaw sa'yong sayo palagi ikaw)
- The regulars at Angel's Share and even Diluc tease him about how he's always longing for you when he's drunk
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
Diluc:
Now playing: Unang Sayaw- NOBITA
- Similar to his brother, he thought no one would really try and pursue him but here he is
- He loves you so much he always thinks about you whenever he's out doing some work of his (be it terrorizing the fatui or just managing the winery his first thought is always you)
- Whenever he's staring at you when you're doing something, he has the most lovesick expression on, and when you stare back, he's as red as his face (Sa titig pa lang, ikaw na)
- If he has free time, he loves to dance with you, and he keeps falling for you whenever you guys do it (Isasayaw ka nang dahan-dahan hanggang 'di mo mamalayang ako na pala ang 'yong kailangan at gusto mong pakasalan)
- In conclusion, he's deeply in love your honor
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
Albedo:
Now playing: Mabagal- Moira Dela Torre & Daniel Padilla
- It was that one cover that sounded like him that made me give him this song
- But hey it fits him well hello?
- Klee told him about how lovers dance together so he wanted to do it with you, even though he isn't the best, he wants to learn it with you
- Everytime you two get to dance, he loves holding you close to him, he just loves it (Hawak-kamay, pikit-mata sumasabay sa musika)
- Your little dances together is so calming and relaxing, both of you love embracing each other, he even sings to you the lyrics of the song while holding you close (Pag natapos na, ating kanta at wala nang musika kakantahan ka ng a cappella sa 'yong tainga)
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
Zhongli:
Now playing: Kahit Maputi na ang Buhok ko- Rey Valera
- He listens to old Filipino songs it's canon/j
- I picked this song purely because it fits his vibes
- He isn't the archon of eternity but he doesn't want his relationship with you to change but he's fine with marriage (Kung tayo'y matanda na sana'y hindi tayo magbago)
- Even though he's old, he knows how to show his love and affection towards you. He loves showering you with love and whenever Hu Tao sees you too, she jokingly gags (Ang aking pangako na ang pag-ibig ko'y laging sa'yo kahit maputi na ang buhok ko)
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
Xiao:
Now playing: When I met you- APO Hiking Society
- This FITS HIM SO WELL
- He likes old but gold bands thanks to Zhongli
- He never liked human interaction but everything changed when he met you (hehe song title)
- You helped him stop thinking his karmic debt will harm everyone, slowly but surely making him not allergic to human interaction (There I was an empty piece of a shell just minding my own world without knowing what love and life were all about, then you came)
- He's thankful for your persistence in helping him, but what is this fuzzy thing he's feeling? He keeps getting it whenever you talk to him, perhaps he has grown to care about you? (You gave me a meaning to my life yes, I've gone beyond existing and it all began when I met you)
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
Childe:
Now playing: Mr. Kupido- Rachel Alejandro
- Ah yes, he knows he's handsome so he takes advantage of it (not in a bad way ofc)
- Thanks to his friendly comments, he always leaves you with a slight blush on your cheeks (Minsan siya ay nakausap ako ay parang nasa ulap)
- You don't even know how you ended up liking this idiot, he wasn't even your type but now you're dating him (Di naman siya sobrang guwapo ngunit siya ang type na type ko bakit ba ganito ang nadarama ng puso ko)
- Don't worry, this is definitely a he fell harder situation ;)
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
Kazuha:
Now playing: Pasilyo- SunKissed Lola
- The way the song is written just screams Kazuha to me
- It just poetically flows well for me (If that makes sense)
- Even though he travels with Beidou at sea, he always manages to come back to you, why would he ever let go of his muse? (Hahagkan na't 'di ka bibitawan wala na 'kong mahihiling pa)
- He wants to grow old with you, praying to every single archon for it. He even imagines reciting poems to you even when you two are already grandparents, and your grandkids are even jokingly acting disgusted at you two (Araw-araw 'kong dala-dala paboritong panalangin ko'y makasama ka sa pagtanda)
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
Thoma:
Now playing: Panalangin- APO Hiking Society
- Everyone's favorite retainer
- I imagine he wants to have the love that old couples do, he wants to grow old with his beloved but his love for them stays sweet just like honey (well that's obvious)
- So when both of you started dating, he prayed and made a wish at the Narukami Shrine wishing the both of you to stay strong (Panalangin ko sa habang-buhay makapiling ka, makasama ka 'yan ang panalangin ko)
- He's clingy (not to a possessive extent no) he enjoys your company because he's often busy, he loves it whenever he has a day off so he can spend time with you (At hindi papayag ang pusong ito mawala ka sa 'king piling mahal ko, iyong dinggin)
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
Itto:
Now playing: Akin Ka Na Lang- The Itchyworms
- He is the definition of stubborn (or in Tagalog, matigas ang ulo nya)
- He and the gang sing outside your house hoping to woo you (y'know the Harana tradition? Yup) singing about how he can be the best boyfriend you'll only have (Akin ka na lang iingatan ko ang puso mo akin ka na lang wala nang hihigit pa sa'yo)
- This harana thing will continue until you agree that he takes you out on a date you had to agree because your parents were getting annoyed by his antics. On said date, he promises to never and I mean NEVER leave you and will treat you like royalty ('Wag ka dapat sa'kin magduda hinding hindi kita pababayaan)
- He keeps his promises so now you're in a happy relationship with him yay!
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
Ayato:
Now playing: Mundo- IV of Spades
- Choosing a song for this guy was hard for some reason
- Anyways, you never really thought you'd have a relationship with the Yashiro Commissioner because of the status differences, but now you're happily married to him
- Although it's difficult to spend time with his schedule, but when he's finally free from his clan duties, he's with you, his home (Aking sinta, ikaw na ang tahanan at mundo)
- His words to you during these times are about how he'll always love you, you're his entire world, he'll always be by your side no matter what (Sa pagbalik, mananatili na sa piling mo)
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
Tighnari:
Now playing: Habang Buhay- Zack Tabudlo
- Fennec foxes mate for life, that's a well-known fact in this fandom because of him
- Collei keeps on teasing him about how he looks like whenever he sees you poor guy is just lovestruck
- Back to the mate-for-life thing, yes he's protective of you. There's a forest ranger slacking off who's weirdly looking at you? He is scolding them so bad they look like they're about to cry (Tingnan mo lang ang aking mga mata 'wag kang titingin na sa iba akin ka na, wala nang iba)
- Just one thing to remember, you're forever his and he's forever yours (Andito 'ko hanggang sa 'ting pagtanda mamahalin kita basta't 'pag nahulog nakahawak ako, 'wag ka lang bibitaw habang-buhay na ako'y iyo)
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
Cyno:
Now playing: Lintik- Brownman Revival
- Lintik is slang for lighting, and lighting = electro, what's Cyno's vision? ELECTRO. I'm sorry I just wanted to make a joke since this guy's a joker himself
- Anyways, when he got feelings for you it was like he got struck by lightning, sudden and shocking (Lintik na pag-ibig parang kidlat puso kong tahimik na naghihintay bigla mong ginulat)
- He fell first and fell HARD. He says the most corniest pickup lines known to mankind but they somehow make you laugh thanks to his serious face while delivering it. Tighnari side eyes him and apologizes for the things he's saying whenever he's with the two of you (Nananaginip ba ako ng gising? Nadali mo ang puso ko ng iyong kidlat)
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
Alhaitham:
Now playing: Yakap- Zack Tabudlo
- Now this is an interesting song choice considering he doesn't show his emotions and hates physical affection (this is more of a headcannon I have)
- But, whenever he sees you walking around, his heart is beating like crazy. He would try to rationalize his feelings towards you but it gets thrown out the window each time you two interact (Bakit ba ako nanghihina tuwing nababanggit ka? Ang puso'y nagwawala)
- When you get to know him more, you realize he actually likes physical touches but only from people he's comfortable enough with. Hold on he considers you as one of his closest friends? Kaveh immediately interrogates you about your relationship with him.
- When one of you finally confesses, everyone is shocked that the quiet, reserved scribe is dating someone. Let alone allow them to touch him in public too. A little secret Alhaitham has is that he actually likes, no loves it when you shower him with physical affection. He looks like he's pissed but deep inside he's enjoying every single hug or kiss from you. (Yakapin mo ako ng mahigpit wag ka nang bibitaw kahit saglit ikaw na lang mahal naghintay ng matagal)
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
Kaveh:
Now playing: Fallen- Lola Amour
- Oh this man is deeply in love with you. He loves everything about you. Your voice, hobbies, looks, everything, Alhaitham is getting very pissed at the number of times Kaveh has mentioned you in his hopeless romantic rant. (What if I told you that I've fallen and I like the way you say my name? My heart skips a beat when I hear you calling and I like that it won't go away)
- Kaveh wasn't honest with his feelings at first, thinking he might just be a burden to you, so he didn't confess at first. (But never mind, don't wanna give you any trouble never mind, never mind I'm OK with being by your side for as long as I can hide)
- But after a few threats of being kicked out by you-know-who, and advice from the mom friend, he finally decided it was better to confess for closure than hope for something that wasn't likely happening.
- Oh but when you accepted his feelings, he was over the moon. The relationship started off a bit rocky because of him thinking he wasn't enough, but you were there to assure him that you'll always be there to love him, no matter what happens to you two, you'll be with him, even if his problem is something trivial, you'll be there to help him with whatever he needs (I'll make your breakfast every morning and pick you up when you're a mess)
────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────
a/n: I had this idea rotting in my mind for months now I only got to write it last week because of our exams (I feel like I poured my heart out for Kaveh's and Xiao's)

5 songs from QLs (queer movies and shows)
Thank you for tagging me @dummerjan 💚
🎶They do not have to be custom-made for the series.
🎶Non-western tracks only. Let's support Asian music and languages! 🎶Feel free to tag anyone who may be interested in participating. 🎶Add #5qls tag to your post for others to find the new favourites!
So, I'll start the list with some Hindi songs as that's my beloved mother-tongue 😍 I'll basically list the queer movie/show name first and then its OST.
1. Maja Ma - Buniyaad by The Yellow Diary
This movie left me stunned. It was the first indian queer film I watched centred around a middle aged lesbian woman and it left me feeling so much.. the acting by Madhuri and Simone is stellar. I'm only sad we didn't get more scenes between them.
This is the reprised version. The original version is also on YouTube and both are lovely 💚
youtube
2. Shubh Mangal Zada Savdhaan - Raakh by Arjit Singh
I think this entire playlist is just going to be of songs that make me ache. Please do read the English translation of Raakh if possible. The lyrics are pure love and pain and really showcase the pain queer couples go through and how they have to fight tooth and nail for their love.
youtube
3. Couple of mirrors - Immortality by Zhang Nan
This song makes my heart ache. It is soft like a lullaby yet there's such pain. Simply heavenly PLUS it's sung by the very actress who plays the lead role of You Yi! And the show? Amazing! The whole old era vibe and the bond between our two ladies was killer (given that one of them is a literal killer lol) Love you Yan Wei and You Yi 💚
youtube
4. KinnPorsche The Series - Contradict by Season Five
Another song that reduces me to tears. It's stuck with me for so long and yet I couldn't bear myself to listen to it for a while there. That's how much it made me hurt.
youtube
5. We Best Love - Blue Lover by YU and Unbreakable love by Eric
Don't ask me to choose. I love both these songs. Just.. Just go listen to them 😢😍
youtube
youtube
Well here comes an end to the literal cry fest. Hope you all check out the movies and shows. Enjoooyyyy and don't forget to carry some tissues 😙😙😙
Tagging @fanshipper1412 @therealblessedaffliction @vvitcherys and anyone else who wants to take this up 😄💚

Ri. Ri. Ri the rizz master. Meron akong brainrot ulit 😭
beh, u should def watch maria clara at ibarra. Its so good like man 😩
but imagine… miguel/noir in a noli au. The clothes???? The plot??? The tagalog OMGGG, like imagine miguel using really old tagalog, as in, the days where ppl still used señor/señorita. Words like maharlika and the like. (Sana tama yung spelling ko hahahsj)
i could go on and on about imagining them in old filipino literature. I can’t. Im so far gone.
-leonara <3
NAKO ATE ARE YOU TRYNA KILL ME????????? man i found ibarra hot there though HE'S THE STANDARD YOU CAN'T BLAME MEEEEE
anyway, so imagine,
miguel o'hara in a noli au
ok so we were both colonized by the spanish right, so i think that YES, YOU BOTH WOULD'VE UNDERSTOOD EACH OTHER IN SPANISH KUNG MESTIZO/A KAYO; but if not, bc from what i remember, the indios weren't taught spanish, you'd kind of just..... listen to him, and if he says a word you understand in tagalog, you'd answer him in tagalog and JUST--
i think if you really didn't understand him bc of how malalim tagalog was back then, which was way more common than how my conyo ass speaks, you two probably wouldn't come to an understanding, you'd probably resort to using your body language to tell him LMAO
also am i the only one who thinks filipino/filipina beauty, doesn't matter if you're moreno/morena or pale or darker than that, really captivates miggy? like even if you didn't look like mestiza women at the time and were a pure-blooded filipino/filipina, HE WOULD BE ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH HOW YOU LOOKED EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T GO ALL OUT FOR HIM (he knows you're perfect :>)
he would try to impress you with his spanish, but honestly, you couldn't care less bc YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HALF THE SHIT HE'S SAYING, so you just... nod... and... leave.......
when you're waiting out by your window, or nagpapahangin lang ykyk kasi mas malamig noon, he'd call out to you and say you look lovely tonight in the MOST FANCY OLD TAGALOG WAY (fuck di ko alam kung paano, BUT LEMME TRY SOMETHING HUHU)
"aba'y binibini/ginoo... ikaw ay punong-puno ng kagandahan ngayong gabi; ang mga tala sa langit ay daig pa sa iyong ning-ning."
then he fuckin winks and you're dead
if you knew him ever since you were younger, he would write those letters ibarra sends maria clara, AND HE'D GAZE OVER AT YOU SO LOVINGLY AS YOU READ THEM OUT LOUD, AND WHEN HE CATCHES YOU BLUSHING HE'D SAY IT, HE'D CALL YOU OUT
"aking binibini, ika'y... namumula. kay ganda ng pula sa iyong mukha, ika'y tilang isang rosas na namumukadkad."
(((oh the urge to kiss him right then and there fuckkk)))
he would harana you. that is FINAL. he would sing in spanish because that's how he expresses himself best, and because he's more familiar with them. but i think he'd compose his own songs in spanish AND TAGALOG FOR U
IF YOU FR DON'T GET THE HINT HE LIKES YOU, HE WILL STRAIGHT UP ASK YOU ONE DAY IF YOU'D WANT TO RUN AWAY WITH HIM AND LET HIM TAKE CARE OF YOU
HE WANTS A FUCKING FUTURE WITH YOU AWAY FROM THE COLONIZERS AND BULLSHIT THAT'S HAPPENING IN THE NOLI AND WANTS TO SEE YOU SAFE AND SOUND. HE WILL KICK THE SHIT OUT OF THE GUARDIA CIVIL IF THEY FUCKING HURT YOU !!!!!!
"aking sinta, ipinapangako ko. hindi kita pakakawalan, hindi kita iiwanan sa impyernong ito, sapagkat ikaw ang natatanging liwanang sa aking buhay, ang tanging minamahal at mamahalin ko hanggang ako'y yumao't mawala sa mundo. nais kong maramdaman at maranasan mo na ikaw lang ang mundo ko. tu eres mi unico mundo." (shit sana tama AAAAAAA)
a/n: BIG THANK YOU TO ATE @binibinileonara FOR THE REQ AND INSPO, LOVE YOU PO ATEEE /platonically <333

MOD'S CHOICE POLL
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mod's own propaganda under the cut:
Sasha as Red Riding Hood:
During submissions, I became so absolutely excited when I saw this pop up. I don't know who decided to submit it, but they unlocked some childhood memories for me. Back when I was a child, my family visited Pakistan (my parent's country of origin) for the entire summer. One day I, bored, asked for some movies to watched and my parents and uncle brought back some clearly bootlegged DVDs dubbed in Hindi/Urdu, and Bratz Kids Fairy Tales was one of them. I watched it so many times, you have no idea- I think that I might have wrecked the whole DVD with how much I watched it. (A similar thing happened later on when I obtained a clearly bootlegged copy of Bratz Fashion Pixie too but that's another, non-Red Riding Hood related story.) I wasn't surprised that it was eliminated right off the bat, but my childhood nostalgia dictated I put it here, or else I would be betraying the 7-year-old in me.
Shang, Tao, and Paotze:
Another childhood favorite of mine. This picture book has such beautiful art and I remember being very surprised by the story as a child. I found a PDF of it online to reread when the contest started and honestly it still holds up. The three sisters that are the Red Riding Hood in the story I feel are genuinely very clever. And for nothing else, look this one up solely for it's beautiful art which is just breath-taking whether you're a child or an adult!
Lamb:
Not going to lie I never played this game. My good friend who I adore submitted this to the poll and it immediately got eliminated and I just felt bad lol. But it does look cool & I trust their taste so I do think that this game is great. I want to play it but I am really bad at getting myself to play games.
Aku:
Samurai Jack is a CLASSIC and I dare you to not watch this clip and crack up. Mako was a gift of voice acting and I miss him so much. Also this episode is just pretty amusing.
Amy Lee:
My sister was actually the one to submit this and I will use her own propaganda here: "Evanescence was a voice of a generation." Honestly this song is kind of just okay, there are better Evanescence songs, but got to respect the effort they put into the music video. Who can resist to choose Amy Lee anyway?
The Path sisters:
Like many people who know this game, I know it through Izzzyzzz's two video essays on it. I didn't play the game afterwards, but I did watch some play-throughs since I don't play many games + it seemed mostly like a walking simulator anyway so I felt like I got the same effect. It is AMAZING and has so much story and analysis and I love shit like that... In particular, Scarlet, Ruby, and Rose are my favorites whose stories really resonated with me, even if I haven't exactly gone through their life experiences. Ginger too. And there's some really horrific imagery in Robin's...I would recommend everyone find a way to experience this game-- whether that's playing it, watching Izzzyzzz's videos, or finding a walk-through/analysis of it, it's worth it!
Lisette:
So this manga is sort of obscure but it is also sort of nostalgic to me. Well, nostalgic by proxy. My sister read it when I was younger and told me some details about it and for some reason it stuck with me. Like??? For no reason. It's not even that good lmao. The first chapter right off the bat is pretty edgy & handles sensitive topics very badly. But goddamn if I do not think about random elements of the story for no reason. I don't really remember shit about Lisette but hey this picture of her looks really cool.
Red:
If you notice a theme among these being "nostalgia" you would be right, as this was another nostalgic offering from my childhood that I would watch semi-annually. I was also fond of the sequel, though I thought it felt like a different series than the first one. (Which isn't unusual with animated sequels to popular movies, but the fact that the sequel was set-up by the ending of the first one implies it was planned? Weird). But anyway Red is iconic and funny and voiced by Anne Hathaway and also her sad emo song "Red is Blue" sometimes still gets stuck in my head, so take that as you will.
Chacha:
I know absolutely nothing about this series. But it looks very cute so I like it. I love cute magical girls they deserve the world. Also I looked it up and apparently the Studio who did the Akazukin Chacha anime would later do the Yu-Gi-Oh animes from the 2000s and 2010s, so there's the obligatory mention of nostalgia.

✨I ranked all the indian stuff I watched in 2023✨
For context, this July I finally gave in to my decade-old urge and dove head first into indian culture. It's been nothing short of phenomenal. The more people I meet, the more foods I try, the more music I listen to, the more Hindi I learn, the more I fall in love with India.
Although I became more of a TV serial person, eventually, I gave in to the movies as well.
So here's everything I watched, ranked from worst to best.
(I'm sorry in advance)
Tumblr media
10. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani
This movie is useless, I'm so sorry. Somehow, it fooled me into thinking Naina was the main character, then the whole thing became about Bunny and I was so confused, who was I supposed to care about anyway? Can't complain though, Naina is a boring and uncharismatic cliché, I couldn't care less about her, had she disappeared midway into the story, I would've been thankful. Avi, Bunny, and Aditi, on the other hand, are loveable characters that deserved to be in a better movie — especially Aditi, I liked her so much. Too bad the movie seems to be about absolutely nothing. There was a message, I think, but it felt so shallow it didn't even matter to me, there was no actual relevance, no lesson, no impact, nothing. Maybe I'm stupid, but this movie is a drag. And the soundtrack SUCKS, Ilahi is the only good song in it.
2.8/10
Tumblr media
9. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2
The very first Bollywood movie I've ever watched. I wanted to like it so bad, it makes me sad that I didn't. Is it a comedy? A horror story? A dramatic murder mystery? Somehow, it's all of these and none at the same time, it can't decide on a tone to save its life, not even the humor can decide on what exactly it wants to be (most of it is just bad). The main couple has negative chemistry, their romance is so bland it's almost funny. Ruhan carries the whole movie on his back and is the only character with enough charisma to make me care, I honestly love this guy. His scene where he pretends to be possessed is incredible, and Tabu as Anjulika was great too. The plot twist was really nice, possibly the only good thing about the whole story, but then the movie ends so abruptly and on such a heavy note that it almost made me sick when the upbeat theme song started playing immediately after. This movie could not read the room, everything about it throws me off.
4/10
Tumblr media
8. Jab We Met
Aditya is a dream, Geet is kind of a nightmare. I have nothing against characters that are lively, optimistic, and cheery, but they have to be bearable, she was just way too much for me. I loved Aditya's character development, it was fun and endearing to watch. The movie itself is not bad, just overrated. Nagada Nagada slaps though.
6/10
Tumblr media
7. War
I wanted to love this movie just as much as it wanted to have a good twist. We both failed. Underestimating the audience's intelligence is one thing, but toying with us and making us feel like fools for the sake of a “big reveal” is something else. And no, it wasn't worth it. It wanted to be surprising, but it was just frustrating, shocking for all the wrong reasons. The action was fire though, no complaints there, and I loved the relationship dynamic between Kabir and Khalid, I would watch 11 seasons of those two going on missions with their team and fighting together, their chemistry is so good, I enjoyed every second of their scenes.
6.4/10
Tumblr media
6. Arjun: The Warrior Prince
As a Mahabharat fan, I had hopes, but that's on me. Loved the way the story was presented to the audience, simple but brilliant. Shaheer Sheikh's Brihannala altered my brain chemistry, and I was elated to see her again. The animation was gorgeous, that goes without saying. I just hated how it ended right before the war, right where Arjun has some of his best moments, and hated even more how they practically erased Krishna from the story. At least they made him dark skinned this time.
6.7/10
Tumblr media
5. My Name is Khan
Had this been based on a true story, I would've been the biggest fan of this movie to ever exist, I am a sucker for movies based on real life stories. Still, despite the disappointment of finding out this whole thing — as good as it was — was fictional, I see it as a touching, lovely, honest, and relevant story that kept me interested and broadened my horizons. Say whatever you want about allistic actors playing autistic characters, Shah Rukh Khan sold the heck out of this character and I bought it like the big neurodivergent fool that I am. I see a neurodivergent character onscreen, I am immediately on-board and loving them despite all their scripted flaws because “they're just like me fr”. "Marry me", indeed.
7/10
Tumblr media
4. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani
Is it innovative and groundbreaking? No, but it is so much fun. It's deep and honest enough, charismatic and funny enough, it's just good entertainment with a good message. I expected nothing to be honest, either way, the story just kept getting better? The dynamics kept getting deeper and more complex? Wait a minute, this was actually good! I went in for the soundtrack — I'm obssessed with Dhindhora Baje Re — but I stayed for everything else. I laughed out loud many times, I shed some tears, I rooted, man, this movie made me feel actual things! What a lovely surprise.
7.9/10
Tumblr media
3. The Railway Men
I went into it with such high hopes. Some of them were met, but part of me was left unsatisfied. As I said before, real stories are my favorite, but the way this show was presented feels too much like fiction. Good fiction, but still. And I know it’s not fiction. I am aware that many creative liberties were taken, and I'm not against them, at all, but the thing is: I could see them, I knew they were there. When I watched HBO’s Chernobyl, I was fully convinced that everything that was presented in the show was reality, exactly how it had happened, and I doubted nothing. I was shocked when they revealed that Ulana Khomyuk was a character created to represent many scientists that were involved in the incident. I had eaten her up, and I still can't believe she wasn't a real person. The Railway Men feels like the opposite of this, most of it feels like a creative liberty, very little reads as a real event, a real interaction, or a real person. I doubted a lot of what I saw, and had to do some research to fully understand what exactly had been real. But like I said, it was still good. I found myself caring deeply for each and every character, no matter how minor, I deeply empathized with their pain, rooted for them, cried with them, cried for them. It's heartbreaking, gut wrenching, revolting, yet it still manages to be inspiring. Why I never learned about Bhopal before watching this show is beyond me, but at any rate, I will be recommending this show to everyone I know.
8.1/10
Tumblr media
2. Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva
I will defend this movie's honor, I don't even care. I loved it so much that I made my mom watch it with me the next day, and she loved it. The dialogue is cringy, yes, unbearably so, some lines make my skin crawl. But COME ON, the plot is great, the concept is creative, the visual effects are wonderful, the soundtrack is divine —Mohan is dreamy— hear me out, I was hooked, on board, immersed, you name it. This movie made me feel so excited, I felt like a 7-year-old watching a super hero movie and wanting to have cool powers just like those, I honestly can't remember the last time a movie made me feel this energetic. Do I understand why Shiva and Isha were so deeply in love despite having met each other a week ago? No, but I was still rooting for them. Do I understand why sometimes people yell out the Astra’s powers in order to activate them like the Power Rangers? No, neither do I vibe with it, but do you think it mattered? The next moments were so freaking cool that I completely forgot what I wanted to complain about. (Oh, and Saurav Gurjar was in it! I gasped so loud when I saw him on screen, and playing a villain no less!) I was genuinely sad when it ended, I would've watched three more hours of that, despite the terribly written lines. I will fight for this movie and forgive every bad line of dialogue if it kills me.
8.7/10
Tumblr media
1. Mahabharat (2013)
In case you haven't noticed, I am absolutely obssessed with Mahabharat. Initially, I’d decided to face the 267 episodes of this show because watching stuff in your target language is a good way to learn (also, that Krishna guy was very easy on the eyes, looking at him a bit more surely wouldn't hurt). It took me a few episodes to really get into the story, but once I did, oh boy, I was so hooked on the plot I even forgot about the language (although I did learn some words from it). The thing about this show, other than the freaking superb plot and phenomenal cast, are the characters. They all made me feel something. And that's the thing with characters, I believe, they don't necessarily have to be good or bad, morally speaking, they have to be well-written and entertaining, they have to make you feel things, positive or negative. Shakuni, a villain, was freaking great because of how good he was at being bad. And the good guys, like the Pandavas, weren't just good, that'd be boring, they were also charismatic, unique, funny, inspiring, and sometimes morally grey, which made them even more interesting, even more human. Watching them get in conflict with their morals when things got dark was insane. Even when they messed up —I'm looking at you Dharmraj— I still wanted to see them win. They felt like family, I watched them grow, I felt so close to them that their struggles and victories felt like my own. “My boys”, I call them. Mahabharat is my Roman Empire, man, I could talk about this show for HOURS. Anyway, this became my favorite show of all time and I'm so glad I didn't let the number of episodes scare me away. (And yes, I am still very much in love with Saurabh Raaj’s Krishna, he is probably one of my favorite characters ever, my heart raced when I first saw him and it still does to this day, BYE)
9/10
Oh, this ended up being a Top 10. Nice.
I both thank you and applaud you for reaching the end of this ramble that is ultimately just a result of my obsession with making lists and ranking literally everything. And also my admiration for indian culture.
I would've included Porus and Chandragupta Maurya but I'm not yet finished watching them, but I thought I should say: I am liking them a lot.
What do you people think I should watch next year? Recommendations are welcome!

A Symphony of Seasons: Exploring the Best of Nature in Bollywood Music
As th seasons change, so too does the landscape of nature. From the vibrant colors of spring to the chilly embrace of winter, each season brings with it a unique beauty that captivates us all. And what better way to celebrate this symphony of seasons than through music? In Bollywood, nature has long been a muse for musicians and composers alike, inspiring some truly unforgettable melodies that evoke everything from romance to melancholy. Join us as we explore some of the best examples in Bollywood music where nature takes center stage, taking you on a journey through lush forests, rolling hills, and rain-soaked streets – all set to an unforgettable soundtrack that will leave you breathless.
Introduction to Bollywood Music and Nature
In India, the movie industry based in Mumbai is commonly referred to as “Bollywood.” Bollywood films are typically musicals, and often feature lavish song-and-dance production numbers. The music of Bollywood has been influenced by a variety of Indian classical and folk traditions, as well as by popular Western styles. Many Bollywood songs celebrate the natural world, from the beauty of the countryside to the changing seasons. In this article, we’ll explore some of the best examples of Bollywood songs that feature nature themes. We hope you enjoy these selections!
Types of Nature Themed Songs
There are a few different types of songs that Bollywood has to offer when it comes to the nature theme. Some songs are more light-hearted and upbeat, while others are more reflective and somber. Here are a few examples of each:
1. Upbeat and Light-Hearted: These types of songs are typically about the beauty of nature, and how it makes us feel happy and free. They often have an optimistic message, and make us want to get up and dance along. Examples include ‘Aankh Marey’ from the movie Simmba, ‘Saree Ke Fall Sa’ from the movie R… Rajkumar, and ‘Dil Chori’ from the movie Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. 2. Reflective and Sombre: These types of songs tend to be about the fragility of life, and how we must cherish every moment we have. They often have a more mellow sound, and make us reflect on the deeper meaning of life. Examples include ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ from the movie Kal Ho Naa Ho, ‘Kya Hua Tera Wada’ from the movie Hum Kisise Kum Nahin, and ‘Agar Tum Saath Ho’ from the movie Tamasha.
Popular Bollywood Songs Featuring Nature
In India, Bollywood films are known for their colorful song and dance sequences. They often feature beautiful landscapes and scenery, which provide the perfect backdrop for the characters to express themselves. Many popular Bollywood songs feature nature prominently, using it as a metaphor for love, loss, or other emotions.
Some of the most popular Bollywood songs featuring nature include ‘Barso Re’ from the movie Guru,’ Socho ke jheelon ka shaher ho from Mission Kashmir, and ‘Yeh Haseen Wadiyan Yeh Khula Aasman’ from Roja. Each of these songs uses nature in a different way to create a unique mood and atmosphere.
‘Barso Re’ – It describes the monsoon season in India, which brings relief from the scorching heat of summer and rejuvenates nature. The lyrics are filled with metaphors and imagery, portraying the raindrops as a lover’s embrace, and the thunder as the sound of the divine. The song also talks about the joy and celebration that comes with the arrival of the monsoon,as people dance and sing in the rain.
‘Socho ke jheelon ka ‘ -The lyrics talk about a city that is surrounded by lakes and gardens, where the air is filled with the fragrance of flowers and the sound of birds singing. The song paints a picture of a serene and peaceful place, where one can lose themselves in the beauty of nature. The melody of the song is soothing, and the lyrics are filled with metaphors that compare the different aspects of nature to things like jewels, pearls, and dream
“Yeh Haseen Wadiyan Yeh Khula Aasman” -The lyrics describe the breathtaking valleys and mountains, the flowing rivers and streams, and the clear blue skies. The melody of the song is soothing, and the instrumentation includes traditional Indian instruments such as the flute and Tabla, which enhance the beauty and tranquility of the Kashmiri landscape. The song has become an anthem of sorts for the natural beauty of Kashmir, and it continues to inspire people to visit this picturesque region of India.
Different Seasons in India and their Representation in Music
India is a vast and varied country, with a rich tapestry of cultures and traditions. This diversity is reflected in the music of the country, which has been influenced by a variety of factors over the centuries. One of the most important elements in Indian music is the concept of seasonality. The changing seasons have always been a source of inspiration for Indian musicians, who have used them as a way to capture the essence of nature in their compositions. The four main seasons in India are summer, monsoon, winter, and spring. Each season has its own distinct characteristics, which are reflected in the music composed for that time of year. Summer is the hottest season in India, and is often associated with feelings of heat and thirst. Monsoon is the rainy season, which brings relief from the heat and helps to cool things down. Winter is the coldest season, when people huddle around fires to keep warm. Spring is the time when new life begins to sprout forth after the dormancy of winter.
Each season has its own unique flavor, which is captured in the music composed for that time of year. Summertime songs often have a playful quality, with lively rhythms that reflect the energy and vitality of this season. Monsoon songs tend to be more reflective and introspective, as people take shelter from the rain and reflect on their lives. Winter songs are often melancholy and contemplative, as people contemplate the long months ahead without sunlight or warmth. Springtime songs are often joyous and celebratory, as people rejoice in the return of warmer weather and longer days.
The changing of the seasons has always been an important part of Indian culture, and this is reflected in its music. By creating beautiful compositions to honor each season, Indian musicians have created a unique musical tradition that captures the essence of each time of year.
The Impact of Nature on Human Emotion as Portrayed in Music
As anyone who’s ever been moved by a beautiful sunset or the sound of waves crashing against the shore can attest, there’s something about nature that has a profound effect on human emotion. And this is something that Bollywood filmmakers have long understood, using the power of nature to heighten the emotional impact of their music.
Whether it’s the breathtaking mountain vistas of Kashmir in ‘”Yeh Haseen Wadiyan Yeh Khula Aasman” ‘ or the idyllic beaches in ‘Blue Hai Pani Pani Sunny Sunny’, Bollywood has always had a way of transporting us to another world through its music. And in recent years, filmmakers have become even more ambitious in their use of nature, with songs set in stunning locations all over India and beyond. From the snow-capped Himalayas of ‘Behti Hawa Sa Tha Woh’ to the sun-drenched streets of Lisbon in ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, Bollywood music has taken us on a journey through some of the most beautiful places on earth. And along the way, we’ve experienced all kinds of emotions, from joy and excitement to sadness and longing.
So whether you’re looking for a song to make you feel happy, sad, romantic or anything in between, there’s sure to be a Bollywood tune that will hit the spot. So put on your headphones and take a musical trip around the world with some of our favorite nature-inspired Bollywood songs. The Significance of Natural Beauty in Bollywood Music Bollywood music has long been inspired by the beauty of nature. From the early days of Hindi cinema, songs have celebrated the seasons, the landscapes, and the flora and fauna of India. In recent years, Bollywood films have increasingly been shot in exotic locations around the world, giving audiences a taste of different cultures and natural environments.
The significance of natural beauty in Bollywood music is twofold. First, nature provides a backdrop against which the characters and stories of films are played out. Second, nature is often used as a metaphor for the emotions and experiences of the characters.
In many ways, nature is like another character in Bollywood films. The changing seasons are used to mark the passage of time in a story, or to signify changes in the lives of the characters. The stunning landscapes often provide a contrast to the turmoil or drama taking place within the film. And just as nature can be both calm and serene or wild and chaotic, so too can the lives of those on screen. Many Bollywood songs make use of natural imagery to convey emotions that are difficult to put into words. Love is often described as being like a flower blossoming or a river flowing; heartbreak is likened to withering leaves or stormy weather. The beauty of nature provides an evocative way to connect with audiences on an emotional level. So next time you watch a Bollywood film, take a moment to appreciate the role that nature plays in enhancing the story, and the emotions that come with it.

Conclusion
From wild, monsoon-inspired soundtracks to crisp winter melodies, Bollywood music has certainly given us a wide variety of amazing compositions that capture the beauty of nature. Whether you’re looking for some soulful tunes to listen to as you take in the sights and sounds of spring or if you need some chill vibes to get through those cold winter nights, there’s something out there for everyone. So don’t wait any longer – go explore the best nature-themed songs from Indian cinema today!

Tore Bina | Kahaani Songs | Covered by Karthik Mohan
Tore Bina is a semi classical song from the movie Kahaani. The song has a wonderful base which allows for transposition across many genres. I am exploring the rock genre with this song. It is a an experiment of sorts, hope you all like it.

do you have any songs that remind you of fosterson?
i have many songs that i associate with them but they're all in my language. there's so much gifset-worthy beautiful hindi/urdu poetry in them that i. just. can't. share. with y'all!!!! :/
i don't listen to english songs that much. but the title of one of my fics comes from taylor swift's song 'exile'.
here are 3 songs from my collection. all vids have english translation, tho i don't think hindi/urdu poetry can be aptly translated.
1. Laal Ishq, meaning 'red love' (red symbolising passion here) - i think i've shared this before but this is the most important thorjane song for me. i'll just copy paste what i said to Vi (@uniiiquehecrt ) when i shared it with her:
youtube
It starts with the sound of bells in a temple, giving it a spiritual touch. The man talks about how he collided with the woman (their separate worlds collided) and now he's changed forever. She changed his old ways. But since they are from different opposing worlds, no one will let them be together. He will do whatever he can to be with her/sneak moments with her. Run away, hide, destroy everything.
This song is based on Romeo Juliet, hence the ref to the line 'call me but love'. Patty Jenkins saw Thor Jane as Romeo Juliet. So, there's that connection. And the singer's vocals are simply out of this world, even if you don't understand the language.
2. O Bedardeya, meaning calling the other person 'heartless/merciless':
youtube
(not the best translation)
the breakup song where the guy says how much she hurt him, how heartless she is, how it ruined him. he asks her to hurt him some more. and demands her to do him justice this one time if she ever did love him.
really cathartic. here's the vid, btw, because it's worth looking at how angry the guy is at her. this doesn't have the extended verse where he says she should tell everyone how horrible he was because he wants to hear it and hate himself some more.
3. Hasi, meaning 'smile' - the female pov song:
youtube
she talks abt having nothing and no one and how he gave her everything. the line of the song for me roughly translates to - he gave her everything by giving everything of his up in his mad love for her.

Lion (2016, Garth Davis)
20/11/2023
Lion is a 2016 film directed by Garth Davis.
Based on the memoir A Long Way Home, the film tells the true story of Saroo Brierley who is played by Dev Patel. The cast also includes Rooney Mara, David Wenham and Nicole Kidman. The film had its world premiere at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival, taking 2nd place in the Audience Award.
Khandwa, central India, 1986 - Saroo, five years old, second son of a very poor family, who survives with his older brother Guddu by collecting waste metals, asks the other to be able to work at night in a station near their home village. In search of his brother, the child mistakenly boards a deserted train that leaves and does not stop, taking him to Calcutta, about 1600 kilometers away.
Lost in the chaotic metropolis, not speaking the local Bengali language, Saroo survives on the streets. Hosted by people of ill repute, he manages to escape, only to be noticed by a young employee who speaks his Hindi language and who takes him to a police station so that, by publishing his photo in the newspapers, someone can recognize him. Saroo leaves for Hobart in Tasmania, where he grows up and becomes an adult.
At the age of 27, Saroo is a university student in Melbourne, with numerous Indian friends and loved ones, but he has not forgotten his roots and his family, for which he feels a sense of guilt due to his disappearance. At his girlfriend's insistence, the young man begins researching through Google Earth, desperately searching for his home village based on his fading memories, until he recognizes from a satellite image what appears to be the starting station.
Filming began in January 2015 in Calcutta, India, and continued in mid-April, in Australia, in the cities of Melbourne and Hobart.
The film had its world premiere on 10 September 2016 at the Toronto International Film Festival and subsequently at the London Film Festival and the Rome Film Festival. It was released in US cinemas on 25 November 2016 by The Weinstein Company, while distribution began in Australia on 19 January 2017, and in Italy it was released on 22 December 2016.
For the film Sia composed the song Never Give Up, released as a promotional single.
The score was composed by Dustin O'Happellon and Hauschka and was nominated for Best Original Score at the 2017 Oscars.

Where is the 50k (minimum) miscommunication crack fic where Crowley basically goes through all 6 stages of grief when he sees Michael naked in his husbands bookshop?? I need it like I need air to breathe.
Like just imagine him just driving around the car playing pop music (I don’t know much about old English music, so just deal with the modern stuff).
Denial - How to disappear completely, Better than me
Anger - Bad Blood, 10 things I hate about you,
Bargaining - Blue
Depression - Somebady I fucked once, Missing you,
Acceptance - Getaway car, we are never getting back together, Since you’ve been gone, What doesn’t kill you,
And the best of all
Revenge - Vigilante shit, Fuck you,
Uncategorised but they have to be there: Drivers License, Mr. Perfectly Fine, I can’t decide, Lo maan liya (I tried not including Hindi songs but damn it would fit!),
I can’t think of more rn, you can make that your job.
