Gettin’ hot & steamy in the garden 😏 . Usually when I flip the pile—& sift a couple wheelbarrowfulls of black gold—I don’t have enough new greens & browns to really get it going. More like a bigass vermicompost pile 🪱 . But after Spring weeding, & with hella bags of coffee & a pile of redwood chips, I got this cube o’ compost really cookin’! . Don’t worry—the worms will wiggle to the edges & then dive back in after it cools down 🤓👍 . Here’s a cool one on the difference between EM and Activated EM. #Repost @masaaki.sdn.bhd with @make_repost ・・・ What is the difference between EM1 and EMAS? . • EM1 is the solution required for the production of EMAS (EM Activated Solution). • EM1 is activated so that you can make approximately 20 times the original amount and is often done purely for economical reasons. • Activation does not change how EMAS performs in any way. However, EMAS cannot store as long as EM1. Nor can it act as a solution to make endless generation. • EMAS should be used within 30 to 60 days after it is made. • To activate the microorganisms, the concentrated solution needs to be diluted with water, and further activation is performed by adding molasses (sugar cane), which acts as a food source. • Basically, EMAS is a mixture of molasses and EM1, in non-chlorinated water or rice rinse water (which provides the minerals for the multiplication of the microorganisms). • The product is kept in a warm place of 20Ԩ to 35Ԩ.
