timeline: tragedy of binding
The 11th Herrscher incident, known as "Tragedy of Binding" among the surviving MOTHs, is one of the deadliest attacks on humanity by the Honkai. From a total of 200+ MANTIS soldiers, they were left with only 13 after the incident. Humanity also lost all but three cities (Kevin, Cast in Gold).
Most MANTISes died as soon as they stepped on the barrier. Human soldiers suffered before eventually dying. The herrscher took out a large number of forces and reduced the MOTHs to several hundreds. Vill-V, Kalpas, Hua, Kevin, and Elysia have participated in the frontlines. As of writing, I have yet to track down Eden, Sakura, and Kosma.
As for the noncombatants, Aponia was in the Deep End (Kevin, Cast in Gold) while Su's only known role during the Tragedy was he unintentionally lifted Kalpas's restraints (Kevin, Cast in Gold) while Mobius was said to have operated on Kalpas (Kalpas, Heartsbane). The key players of the incident seemed to be Kalpas, Hua, and Kevin.
I will be attempting to retrace the sequence of events starting from the earliest known recollection. Any additional information will be edited at a later date. As a usual disclaimer, please do not repost to other sites without permission.
Many thanks to the Elysian Realm archives document provided by the Honkai Impact Discord server and to the lovely people at the #honkai-lore channel.
Pardofelis is downed with food poisoning before the awakening of the herrscher Later on she would come out to an empty base (Pardofelis, After Sundown)
Aponia is locked in the Deep End (Kevin, Cast in Gold)
11th Herrscher is awakened and forces were deployed. MANTIS soldiers who stepped on the Grace Field died instantly while the humans suffered. Kalpas was knocked out when he touched the barrier (
Hua carried the unconscious Kalpas to Mobius (Hua, Psychotherapy). Later on, Kalpas would allow Mobius to perform a surgey on him (Kalpas, Heartsbane)
Su also unintentionally broke Kalpas's restraints (Kevin, Cast in Gold)
Hua activates Fenghuang Down's First Output (Hua, Break from Binding; Psychotherapy). She immediately passes out after (Kevin, Crimson Ice)
Kevin activates Shamash's 0th power and nukes the battlefield, leaving behind only 13 surviving MANTISes (Kevin, Crimson Ice)
After the incident, Hua passed out for 120 hours. She would later recall the events right before she activated the First Output (Hua, Psychotherapy)
Mobius finds and injured Vill-V among a pile of useless tech (Vill-V, Remnants)
Author's Notes
- Griseo is a non-combat MANTIS due to her age.
- Eden, Sakura, and Kosma are presumed to have participated in the Tragedy of Binding. As of writing, I have not found any recollections that included them.
- Vill-V survived the Tragedy by using her Partitions as a shield. The original would later on wake up to silence.
- Elysia was holding Hua (Kevin, Crimson Ice) after she activated FHD's 1st Output
- Any changes to the order will be edited at a later date.

Silent and serene, forgetting words, bright clarity appears before you. When you reflect it you become vast, where you embody it you are spiritually uplifted. Spiritually solitary and shining, inner illumination restores wonder, Dew in the moonlight, a river of stars, snow-covered pines, clouds enveloping the peaks. In darkness it is most bright, while hidden all the more manifest. The crane dreams in the wintery mists. The autumn waters flow far in the distance. Endless kalpas are totally empty, all things are completely the same. When wonder exists in serenity, all achievement is forgotten in illumination. What is this wonder? Alertly seeing through confusion Is the way of silent illumination and the origin of subtle radiance. Vision penetrating into subtle radiance is weaving gold on a jade loom. Upright and inclined yield to each other; light and dark are interdependent. Not depending on sense faculty and object, at the right time they interact. Drink the medicine of good views. Beat the poison-smeared drum. When they interact, killing and giving life are up to you. Through the gate the self emerges and the branches bear fruit. Only silence is the supreme speech, only illumination the universal response. Responding without falling into achievement, speaking without involving listeners. The ten thousand forms majestically glisten and expound the dharma.

elaborate "elysia proving mei's red eyeliner wasn't makeup" please
Pristine Memory 7 - 5.6 ver.
Elysia: Oh wow. Amazing. Elysia was pinching something with three fingers. She raised her head a little and studied the object to the light. Mei: What are you doing? Elysia: Mei, check this out! I’ve never seen a treasure this beautiful! Mei: …? Mei paused a moment and then leaned closer. But before she could catch a glimpse of anything, she heard the girl chuckle. Elysia quickly opened her hand and brushed past the corner of Mei’s eye. Elysia: I did it. This is what I called “a beautiful treasure.” Her hand had been empty since the beginning. Mei: Elysia, you… Mei: (I… couldn’t dodge it?) Elysia: But I was right all along. You’re not wearing makeup - this gorgy eye shadow comes from your Herrscher powers. Even I envy your natural-born beauty. Mei: Envy? Are you trying to say you, a sim, draw eyeliner daily? Elysia: Oof, never bring that up in front of Dr. Mobius. Elysia: But if you wanna see me wear makeup, try harder, okay? Elysia: I’ve only showed up with makeup on once in real life. Elysia: I was so pretty back then.
Notes:
Seems like on top of hair and eye changes, Herrschers just get cool tattoos, too. Mei has the red "eyeliner" in HoT and Danzai battlesuits, same ones as those where her eye color has changed. Kind of hard to say on APHO Mei, she doesn't SEEM to have the red, but she has a reddish cloudy shadow around her eye so... either that's just the shader and it went away, or she is covering the red marks with makeup. Her eyes never turned back to normal so I'm not sure her skin would...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
APHO Mei getting caught hiding that red stuff would honestly be a cool fic concept. She's embarrassed about her rebellious phase
In that last line, Elysia is referring to the day she turned into a Herrscher. She was also wearing a wedding dress. Stylish!
Regarding Mei being unable to dodge, Elysia fools around but Kalpas couldn't hit her at all when they sparred. Kalpas beat Mei. Do the math...
Poor Mobius
Oppressed. She is oppressed by Herrscher privilege
This scene may also be a hint about the physicality of the sims; they can't just change their appearance to what they want it to be, it seems. They can also sleep and consume food... Hm.
Ely you dork ily
Mei doesn't wear makeup, but when's the last time she got to take a bath? Mei? Mei answer me

There is no manifestation of the Buddha that is not inseparably one with Guru Rinpoché, and so to pray to him is the same as praying to all the buddhas.
If we can pray with real fervor to Guru Rinpoche, he will remove all obstacles and enable us to progress along the path. All buddhas have the same compassion and the same love for sentient beings, but Guru Rinpoché has for countless kalpas [eons] made powerful prayers to benefit the beings of this difficult, degenerate age, who are victims of so much torment. If we pray fervently to him, he will look on us as his only child, and he will come at once, from the land of the rakshasas [cannibal demons] in the south-west, to appear before us.
Whenever we pray to Guru Rinpoché, we should not just mouth the words, but pray one-pointedly from the core of our heart, from the marrow of our bones, and with a devotion that consumes our mind.
To attain the omniscient state of buddhahood, it is necessary to realize the empty nature of all phenomena, through which the wisdom inherent in our fundamental buddha nature is unveiled. In the Root Vehicle of Characteristics, it takes three great kalpas of accumulating merit to achieve such realization. But through the path of devotion to the teacher, even an ordinary individual will achieve realization in one lifetime, thanks to the power of devotion and the blessing of the guru. On the other hand, to expect realization without faith and devotion is the same as hoping that the sun will rise on a cave that faces north.
We should constantly keep in mind that Guru Rinpoché is our sole refuge, whether in happiness or in sorrow, whether in the higher realms of samsara or in the lower.
Without any second thoughts, we should give our whole mind to him, like throwing a pebble into a lake.
~ Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche in his book, Guru Yoga

important warnings i couldn't fit into the masterpost.
. sometimes at specific points in the story, the perspective shifts from kabukimono's to the reader's.
. while i did say there are spoilers, they are heavy spoilers so please, in case you haven't read the husk of opulent dreams artifact set or haven't done dreams, emptiness, deception, akasha pulses, the kalpa flame rises & inversion of genesis quests — don't read the series. i would much prefer it if you read and experience his character story firsthand before reading the series.
. the name used for the child is not his canon name. it's a name i chose for him ( because he deserves a fanon name and also to make it easier )
. this was something that i mentioned in the masterpost as well but there are two major character deaths, not just one. am i sorry for it? no :)
. a minor heads up; the reader is passively mentioned to be gender neutral. but that's only in the "all about my sibling" chapter.
. following the first warning, there are chapters in which it's a completely different perspective — wanderer kuni has the prologue and last chapter from his perspective while the sixth and fifteenth chapter are from fatui kuni's perspective.
these are all i have to add for now, more will potentially be added as the story progresses but for now these are the more important ones to note.

The Chef in the Shitty Kitchen
Kitchen Grade: F
A Kalpas x Reader fic requested on AO3, Chapter 1 below!
“Thank you again for watching Rin.”
“Yeah! It's no problem!” You waved to your neighbor Sakura as she left, her sister Rin mirroring your actions.
“So,” you spoke once Sakura was out of sight.” What are we making?”
“Lava cake!” Rin jumped up and grabbed your hand to drag you into your kitchen. The girl spent just as much time at your apartment as her own, and it showed. When she came over the first time, she looked ready to cry, but now she was as comfortable with the space as you were.
“I think that's a little out of my skill range,” you laughed awkwardly as the girl pouted. “How about brown wishes? Those look like lava.” The pout was replaced with a happy nod and you got to work.
“So does your uncle study volcanoes?” you asked while melting down the chocolate. Handling hot sugar was probably more than you should entrust to a ten year old, so it was mostly up to you to both make the cookies, and keep her entertained.
“Nope! He works in a restaurant. Sakura and I visited him once and he's got the best pizza!” Rin was getting herself excited with the mention of pizza, her pink hair coming loose from her ponytail.
“I sure hope he likes these cookies then--”
“I'll eat them!”
“Thanks,” you laughed at the abrupt response to your worries. “We can set some aside just for you and give the rest to your uncle to try.” Rin readily agreed with your plan while you stirred in the oats. “These get really hot, so you can't touch them until they're ready, okay?” A serious nod came in response to your request, and you started pouring.
Rin was a surprisingly responsible and respectful child; though, given how diligent Sakura was, you probably should've expected her sister to be much the same. After emptying the pot, you placed it back on the stove and turned around with your hands on your hips.
“Alright. What movie are we watching?”
One movie later, Rin was asleep with her head on your lap. You let the credits roll across the screen, not wanting to move. The girl was a light sleeper, and any movement from you would wake her. Unfortunately, you couldn't stop the doorbell and she woke up anyway. With a gasp, she was up and darting for the door before you even stood. She waited by the door, hopping from one foot to the other while you made your way over.
All the times you'd imagined Rin's uncle, you expected some old guy, and you knew he wasn't going to be wearing his chef's hat, but you weren't prepared to see...this. 'Uncle Kalpas,' as Rin had just shouted, was close in age to you and Sakura, had an absurd amount of muscle for a chef, and wore clothes that did very little to hide it. He also was holding his niece—who you were beginning to doubt was biologically related—and giving you a very noticeable stink eye.
“Kalpas,” Sakura spoke in a warning tone to get the man's attention. “This is our neighbor, Rin spends a lot of time over here.” So play nice, her glare told him.
“We made you cookies!” Rin's little jump drew the glare away from you finally.
“Oh?” This man looked, sounded, and acted just like the over-dramatic evil villain in the movie you'd just watched; but if Sakura trusted him, you were willing to...still give him the cookies. But he wasn't coming inside.
“Let me go pack them up for you!” Giving the same painfully polite smile a cashier gives to a rude customer, you headed into your kitchen. Rin could still be heard talking in an extra excited tone while you split the cookies into two containers. With a couple of smiles—possibly grimaces—and neighborly words, you handed over the brown wishes, and your guests left.
The moment the door closed, you let out a sigh. Looking at Kalpas made you shudder under the angry look he gave you, but it was hard not to stare. Everything about him was eye-catching, and you wanted to know more, though you had a feeling he wasn't very open to sharing, and there was no way in hell you were going to ask.
Still thinking about the strange interaction you'd just had, you made yourself some tea and moved to your “office.” Really, it was just the second bedroom, but you'd been using it to get work done ever since you'd moved in. Technically, you were only a consultant for the company you worked for, so technically, they didn't have to provide you with any office space. The compromise to them forcing you to work at home was that you set your own hours; it didn't matter when the work was done, so long as it was done.
Sakura usually gave you some warning before bringing Rin over, but with your schedule being more open, you regularly looked after the girl when her sister was busy. If you had to do work while she was over, you'd take extra breaks, and Rin enjoyed the walks just as much as you.
The next day, you were invited over for dinner, and you really couldn't say 'no' with how happy Rin looked. Sakura told you not to bring anything—Kalpas was cooking and had everything planned. Between phone calls, you gossiped a little with your neighbors in the laundry room, sent way too many emails, and made yourself a nice lunch as a treat for dealing with your idiot co-workers.
No specific time had been given for dinner, so you were a little startled when there was a knock at your door. “Food's almost ready,” Sakura announced with a small smile once you'd opened the door. “You can come over whenever you're free.”
“I can come over now, let me just grab my keys.” Not even a minute later, you both were across the hall at her place. Already, you could smell the food cooking, and if that was anything to go by, putting up with Kalpas' glare would be well worth it so long as you got to eat whatever he was making.
Once inside, the scent of good food was even stronger, and if that didn't have you grinning, then Rin's enthusiastic greeting sure did. Within a second of the door opening, she was in front of you, telling you how much she had helped with the food, and how much she liked the cookies you'd made. Kalpas seemed deaf to her ramblings, continuing to put the finishing touches on the dishes while you and Sakura sat down at the table to wait.
“And I got to use the big knife to cut carrots, and uncle Kalpas said I could use the stove once I'm taller!” Rin took a gasp of air and Sakura was quick to take the opportunity to cut in.
“You helped a lot with the food! I can't wait to try it all.” She spoke with the same quiet enthusiasm she always held for Rin. Seeing the sisters together never failed to make you smile. 'Wholesome' doesn't begin to cover the affection and care they show for each other, and the happiness they felt was infectious.
Before the conversation could start up again, Kalpas placed the first dish in the center of the table. Another followed right after, and two more after that. You would have offered to help, but when Sakura's attempt was shot down, you decided not to bother. In less than a minute the table was covered in so much food, you couldn't even begin to name it all. Not that it mattered; you didn't need to know the name to have your mouth water at the sight in front of you.
When he was done going from kitchen to table, Kalpas stood in front of you all with his arms crossed and a scowl on his face like you'd somehow offended him. “Well?” He wasn't outright mad, but his voice held an undertone that told you he was one step away from pissed. “Start eating before it gets cold!”
“Aren't you going to sit with us?” Sakura looked between her friend and the last empty chair. There was a tense look shared between the two like they were having an unspoken argument.
An argument Sakura won apparently, because Kalpas was soon sitting across from you with Rin already starting to break the silence. Without a word, he took her plate and started putting food on it until you were worried it all might fall off. Taking that as the sign to start, you and Sakura began serving yourselves as well. The moment her hand touched a second spoon, however, she was getting told off for trying to put two things next to each other that obviously don't go together.
Her pout had you laughing under your breath until you got the same lecture. By the time you each had a Kalpas-approved plate, Rin had made a sizable dent in her own. In a quarter of that time, Kalpas had his own plate that look like it came straight from a restaurant you could never afford. Sakura didn't looked shocked like you did, but she sure was sending little jealous glances like you were.
“Uncle Kalpas, how long are you staying? Can we make dinner every night?” Rin was halfway through her plate by now and you were honestly impressed she could eat so much. The conversation between yourself and Sakura stopped as you both listened. Trying to be discrete, you glanced from her to Kalpas—who was already fixing you with a glare—and then back to the safety of your plate, suddenly extra interested in your food.
While you were busy pretending you weren't listening in on the conversation, even though you were apart of it, the other two adults shared a look. Sakura was the one to answer in the end, when it became clear that Kalpas wasn't going to do so. “He's staying for a week--” Rin immediately perked up, but you could hear the 'however' soon to follow.
“But,” there it was, “he's thinking of moving nearby, so he'll be able to visit more.” The little girl's mouth gaped in shock and your eyes widened to match. You could feel your heart beat a little faster; though whether it was out of fear having to face that glare on a regular basis, or getting another chance to admire his...him, you were unsure.
Over the course of dinner, you learned that the reason Kalpas would be moving nearby was to start a new restaurant in town. You also learned that his scowl was mostly reserved for you, and that he actually was happy to laugh along with Rin. Hearing the light cheery laughter from the girl paired with the deep, almost intimidating laugh from Kalpas made you want to give an awkward laugh yourself with how much the two clashed.
When Kalpas stood, you assumed dinner was over, and offered to help clean up. “Don't worry about it,” Sakura shook her head. “But you should stay for dessert.” Your eyebrows pinched together, and almost as though answering your unspoken question, a slice of cheesecake was set down in front of both you and Rin. Kalpas returned soon after with pieces for himself and Sakura, and Rin was showering her uncle with praise before he even sat down.
Taking a bite yourself, you couldn't help but agree. The crust was hard enough to contrast the smoothness of the cake, but not so brittle it broke before you could eat it. The strawberry filling of the cheesecake matched Rin's hair in color, but didn't taste artificial at all. At the same time, comparing the sweet strawberry taste to fresh jam would be an injustice.
“It's amazing,” you add to Rin's—still growing—list of compliments about the dessert. This time, Kalpas' glare was followed by a quiet grunt and nod, and if you really, really squinted, he didn't look quite as angry as he normally did.
I wrote "Griseo" instead of "Rin" an embarrassing number of times, and started this story like 3 separate times, I am so sorry. I'm also using a different word processor than usual, so if the formatting seems a little off, please let me know!

✝ + elysia ( xia )
Tumblr media
After the Herrscher of binding. Only 13 of the original Flame-chasers had remained. It was a horrific incident. One that stated, maybe they would lose the battle against the Honkai after all. Xia, remembered this incident. She was a shadow. Protected by the brightly lit flames of her family. It didn't matter. She had her family in the shadows as well. SAKURA, her honorary older sister. Kalpas, her honorary older brother. Xia was an equal to her teammates. Then the 12th Herrscher was found in a girl not much older than her. Rin was Sakura's sister too.. Rin was innocent and not a theat. She, Elysia and Sakura all agreed on this and planned to take the child away. Only a select few knew of Xia's traitorous actions to try and free the Herrscher. It failed. Rin was brutally murdered by drunken MOTH members because of the S.W.A.R.A. The Herrscher of Corruption had wiped out remaining civilizations. It failed. She failed. She fucking failed and SAKURA had to pay the price of it all. Her sister was dead. She had fallen into a depression because of it. There wasn't too much that could make her feel worse right...? Wrong. So very wrong. Elysia... No. A Herrscher? Elysia... No. Dead? At the banquet she had held today. A shaky breath escaped the young girl in remembrance, clutching the crystal flower in her hand, her knees pulling closer to her chest. Curling closer to the shadowy corner of the bedroom she shared with her older sister, tears running down her cheeks. 'Why..Why.. WHY? Not her... She was so sweet and kind and bright...' Xia couldn't understand it at all. Elysia was a member of her family. The Flame-chasers were her family. How could this happen? Was it her fault? Was it because she once questioned if Herrschers could help humanity to Elysia on that faithful full moon before disaster struck? Would that cheerful elf still be around if Xia hadn't questioned anything. ❝ My fault... All my fault.. I'm so sorry... Elysia. ❞ Her voice choked out to no one in this empty space. The child continued to cry. When her sister Hua would return the battle would have to continue.. for now, the girl allowed her emotions to consume her, in the shadows where no one would know.

The Time Before and The Birth of Now
A speculative work of fan-fiction
Before the Mundus was home to “Nirn”, but after the et’Ada were born from Anu and Padomay, the original spirits worked in harmony in an attempt to create a solid reality from the empty Mundus. A world of shape and form, math and color, a place where the et’Ada may counsel and create endlessly, a Paradise indeed. However grand the Infinite Spirits’ visions were, none would come to fruition, as the Mundus was bound by natural laws of limitation; the infinite ambition and the countless et’Ada were confined to a finite plane, and as the et’Ada grew familiar with one another their desire for power grew tenfold, and endless war ensued…
Alliances were born between the spirits, united by aligned visions for what Paradise should have been. These alliances were innumerable, but there are few that can be identified.
Of the known Anuic spirits: Magnus-Sun accrued followers, his Magna Ge, hoping to cease the conflict and unite under one goal. Anui-El the Time spirit persuaded the counsel of others, hoping to conquer the opposing et’Ada to prove their vision of an orderly world, under their watch where new finite lives of their own creations, ”mortals”, can be born, flourish and grow, to be the supreme Paradise.
Of the known Padomaic spirits: Stone-Fire, assisted by spirits he deceived into servitude, rose whole civilizations just to serve himself and to keep Anui-El at bay. the sorcerer Sload and brutal Dreugh were made in Stone-Fire’s image of what Paradise should have been: raw power, all under his command. The three sisters: Azura, Boethiah, and Mephala, differed from Stone-Fire’s crude designs, and found intrigue in Anui-El’s concept of mortal subjects, but disagreed with his almost authoritarian design. They would follow in Time’s wake to see and aid in the destruction of Stone-Fire’s armies, but ultimately coveted their own seat of power away from Time’s regime, but still comfortably within Paradise’s domain, and with their own mortals under their guidance. Within Magnus-Sun’s followers, there were some who began to doubt Sun’s ability to tame such unruly chaos, and stole away into the bowels of Paradise. It was there, led by Merid-Nunda, that many martyr-angels willingly gave their lives and forms to the creation of The Razor and its wielder, Mehrunes Dagon. Dagon and his Razor were designed to be the ultimate engine of change, with the power to fell any spirit and cast them back into the primordial void. Merid-Nunda and her martyrs hoped a display of such terrible power would scare the et’Ada into a ceasefire, so they would speak with each other and build Paradise in peace. Rhe birth of the destroyer did not bring peace, however, and would mark the beginning of the end for the et’Ada’s Paradise, and countless of the first spirits would fall along with it.
Anui-El, over the course of the conflict, underwent a series of changes, a divine metamorphosis that changed his perspective as the Mundas changed form. In the beginning of the creation of Paradise he was Auri-El, the enterprising, adventurous spirit who sought to bring about stability and development, to create a world of order and peace. As the conflict arose, Auri-El felt himself change both inside and out. He became Akatosh, the half-drake of conquest. Akatosh sought to use his power as needed to bring about an end to war, no matter the cost, and settle the world as intended. Now the half-drake feels another change, as the Prince of Destruction wreaks havoc on all parties, razing civilizations of underlings created by et’Ada to supplement their waning power. Akatosh was consumed by grief and despair at his failure, and his shape and purpose changed yet again. Al Du In was born from Akatosh’s desperation, and as the first spirits’ Paradise fell into total chaos, the Kalpa reached its end, and the Mundus was returned to darkness. In the wake of End-Of-Cycles’ consumption of Paradise, there was a mournful silence, as the spirits who survived the war and the End were left in the hollow Mundus to grieve for what they lost, and ponder what they did wrong…
Among the mourning spirits, there was one who shed no tears. This was Lorkh, a naïve, young et’Ada if such a thing is even possible. The impressionable Lorkh watched from the skies above Paradise through its entire kalpa, the creation, the war, and the consumption, but never intervened, simply observed. Lorkh didn’t see why this had to be the end, if they could make one world, why not make another, and avoid making the same mistakes as before. When Lorkh cried out this suggestion to the mourning spirits, a few splintered off, crawling back into the void to mourn in peace, disheartened and uninspired. Anui-El the Time spirit, returned to his basic state after Al Du In’s rampage, held forth an Egg. He decreed, touched by Lorkh’s hope, that the Egg of the old world would be the start of the New, and that any remaining et’Ada who wish to be a part of its creation may stay.
The sisters, Azura, Boethiah, and Mephala, joined the other splinter-spirits in the void. They mourned the potential that was lost in the Paradise, but still sought to watch what the others create, so they settled on the edge of the void, staking their domains there so they could still be within reach of Mundas.
Stone-Fire spat at the feet of the others, and stole away to oblivion with the rest to found his own personal Paradise, but despite his bold display, found himself uninspired after the fall of the first Paradise, and ended up stood silently on the edge of Mundas, bitterly awaiting the actions of the other spirits, scheming about how he may be able to seize it from them.
Magnus-Sun and the Magna Ge stepped forward to join Time to be the architects of the new world, a handful of Anui-El’s original followers stepped up as well, and Lorkh joined Auri-El as the Egg hatched.
The Et’Ada found themselves just where they left, a ruined sliver of what was supposed to be their Paradise, and a horrible revelation struck as they discovered that Stone-Fire’s abominations and the Prince of Destruction still stood, unscathed by the End, and just as terrible as before. One of Auri-El’s followers, Trinimac-The-Righteous rushed forth and struck a Sload sorcerer through the chest with a mighty blow and cried out a battle-roar that managed to strike fear into the very hearts of these cold-blooded fiends, and the Dreugh and Sload scattered into the empty waters at the edge between worlds, and were the first to cross the barrier between Paradise-Turned-Lyg, and into the virgin seas of Nirn.
As Trinimac scattered the water fiends, the rest of the et’Ada braced themselves for another potential conflict with Dagon. But before a single blow could be struck, Merid-Nunda stepped forth and cast a brilliant light, and the Destroyer was brought to his knees before his creator. The et’Ada gasped as Nunda laid her hands on the leg of the beast, and sung a gentle, resonant tune that put Dagon to rest. Magnus saw a resemblance between Merid and Dagon, like that of a mother and child, and knew just then that it was his own follower who wrought this destructive force on what was once Paradise. As he readied himself to chide her for her actions, he was caught off guard by the sound of wailing cries, as Merid-Nunda turned to her kin, prismatic tears streaming from her eyes.
She wept for Lyg, for the world lost,
For the spirits slain, the uncountable cost,
She only sought peace, an end to the war,
She knew she would be banished, forevermore.
Magnus nodded solemnly, and bid his child a silent parting as Merid-Nunda, face wet with tears, hoisted the slumbering Dagon, and left for the waters of Oblivion with the other mourning et’Ada.
Following these events, the spirits set off away from the ruined Lyg, and into the skies of Nirn.
Magnus and his followers darted across the new world, pulling earth from the water, constructing new lands for their future creations to explorer. Mother-Mara, one of Auri-El’s followers in the very creation of Paradise, graced the land with her love, making plants grow and blossom. As Nirn took form, the et’Ada reached the point where they must discuss the creatures they would populate the land with, and after much discourse invented the early design of the Ehlnofey, creatures with infinite potential, but limited lifespan. The would be borne from the blood of each spirit, and free to develop and change over the millennia as they spread across the world the spirits built for them.
Lorkh, listening to this preachy drone of the other spirits, began to wonder about what existence would feel like for these creatures. Their lives would be immeasurably short compared to his, and he can only imagine how boring it would be living with a bunch of people exactly like him for such a short amount of time. It would be excruciating. Lorkh looked among his fellow et’Ada to find one just as bored as him and his eyes landed on Kyne. Kyne was one of Akatosh’s warriors during the war of Paradise, and joined the Magne Ge and Mother-Mara in shaping and populating the lands. Lorkh approached Kyne and asked her if she wanted to join him on an adventure, since she knew the lands so well she’d be a fantastic guide. Kyne was charmed by the spirit of Hope, and agreed to show him around the world, for a brief escape from the bothersome lecturing from Auri-El and Julianos about how the future mortals should be built. They departed the isle of Aldmeris, where the first Ehlnofay were to be seeded, and headed across sky and sea, to a scattered archipelago of sands and jungles. Lorkh pondered the ecosystem, so different from Aldmeris. He was already in awe of the diversity of Nirn. If the lands and the plants could be so different, why must the mortals all be so similar? He discussed with with Kyne, and she too wondered about the potential for more mortals, beyond the Ehlnofay of Aldmeris. Kyne and Lorkh shared only a glance of eye contact before they began recreating the process described in Auri-El’s designs, and Lorkh bled into the earth of this far away isle. Within moments, the divine ichor took shape, and became the seed of the first Ehlnofay borne of Lorkh’s blood. It was exciting, exhilarating even. Kyne, differing from Auri-El’s teachings, whispered to the seed skills for surviving in this climate, instead of Aldmeris. As the unborn Ehlnofay dreamt their new purpose, Kyne and Lorkh took to the sky to look upon the freshly planted seed of a new world, and gave this archipelago a name, just as they did Aldmeris. This land would be Yokuda, and it’s people would eventually become Yokudans, once the creation age has ended and the seeds takes root.
Fueled with still more inspiration, Kyne and Lorkh set off again, laughing and grinning all the while. They named and seeded Atmora of the far north, Akavir to the distant east, and just reached the large, center-most continent, when their creation-high flight was suddenly cut short by a surprise arrow flying at high speeds, that grazed Kyne’s wings, knocking her from the sky. As Lorkh and Kyne tumbled to the earth, they looked to see the source of the arrow, and saw Auri-El, looking down upon them with fire in his eyes. Kyne stood to shield Lorkh, demand that they were only trying to have fun, and improve upon the et’Ada’s designs. That wasn’t enough for Auri-El. He looses another arrow, this one pierced the ground just at Lorkh’s feet, a warning shot. Auri-El exclaimed that what they just did would be the start of so much conflict in the Ehlnofay’s future, wars to rival the one that brought down Lyg. He demanded that Lorkh banish himself to Oblivion, just as Merid-Nunda did, but the Hope spirit refused, he insisted that he only improved upon the design, creating more diverse mortals to fit the equally diverse ecosystems would far improve their short lives. Auri-El would not have it. He couldn’t believe one of his kin would go out of his way to do something potentially ruining his original design, creating the the same circumstance that ruined their Paradise. Lorkh walked past Kyne’s shield and faced Auri-El directly. After giving so much of his own blood to plant the seeds of future civilizations, he was weaker than all other et’Ada, definitely weaker than Auri-El, there’s no way he could survive trying to fight him, and Kyne, though defending Lorkh, would never raise a blade against Auri-El, not after serving him in Paradise and the creation of Nirn. Lorkh smiled back at his dear friend, and offered himself before Auri-El. In a moment of pity for his kin, rendered so feeble in his act of generosity, Auri-El offered Lorkh a means to be put to rest, but where he could still watch over mortalkind. Lorkh earnestly agreed, to continue to exist in his exhausted state would not be long or comfortable, and banishment to Oblivion would keep him so far from what he’s worked so hard to create. Auri-El lowered his bow, and Kyne lifted Lorkh into her arms, and they took off to join the rest of the et’Ada.
When they arrived at Tower Zero, a meeting place Magnus devised to be where they would watch the mortals grow and spread, they found that the Sun and his Stars were not present. Julianos explained that Magnus saw what Lorkh had done, and in fear that this realm would end just as Paradise did, he and his followers departed for the heavens. As a parting gift, however, they opened up the darkness of the void so that the light of Aetherius may give the mortals guidance and magic to aid in their growth. Coming to terms with how the et’Ada’s numbers have dwindled so far, Auri-El explained the circumstances of Lorkh’s state, and what they shall do to give him rest. Trinimac offered to handle the sundering, to spare the other et’Ada the pain. And so Lorkh’s weakened form was laid to rest at Tower Zero, where Trinimac rended his body.
His head and flesh were suspended into the sky above Nirn, where he may watch and guide the Ehlnofay as moons, just as he watched over Paradise. His bones were driven deep into the earth at various key points and towers erected at those sites, to give the land stability, and to give the Mundas support. Lastly they came upon his heart, which despite Trinimac’s best efforts, mysteriously could not be sundered, and kept beating despite Lorkh’s passing. The et’Ada were unsure the effect a heart living without a body may have, and feared that it would be unwise to let it fall into the unprepared hands of mortals. Doubt crawled up in the back of Auri-El’s mind of Lorkh’s true intentions. if he was truly so weakened, why has his heart persisted? If he was truly laid to rest in the sky and beneath the earth, why does the heart seem to whisper and laugh? Without hesitation, Auri-El took the cackling heart and attached it to an arrow, and sent it flying towards the horizon, away from the established mortal lands…
And with that, Auri-El could feel a familiar, uneasy sensation in his chest, as his form changed yet again. Just as before, he is no longer Auri-El the creator. He has become Akatosh the guide. The seeds have taken root. Creation has ended, and the Merithic Era has dawned.

3RD PERIOD
Lukko came in STROOOOONG. (Pretty sure my neighbours heard me yell about that near goal.)
KalPa coach Miettinen calls for timeout 4 minutes into the first period noticing the momentum has shifted to Lukko and needing to wake up his team before the first TV break or setback goal.
The confusion in KalPa’s play at the moment shows off, when Aapeli Räsänen is going to the box again for hooking.
Eetu Luostarinen trips a guy and Lukko gets a 5 on 3 power play for nearly a minute.
5 on 3 doesn’t pay off for Lukko.
Holy shit what a steal by Samu Perhonen 😍😍😍
No goals on the power play.
KalPa goalie Perhonen definitely is the reason his team is still in the lead.
As of now, I’m totally turning into Samu Perhonen stan blog. Geez.
Lukko is still going on strong, but coach Virta calls for timeout to go on some game plan for the remaining 3 minutes.
Lukko takes goalie off with 1.45 left.
SAMU PERHONEN, ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME. I'M GOING TO NEED A DAMN HIGHLIGHT REEL.
KalPa’s Tommi Jokinen scored empty netter, but the refs had already called offside.
Game ends in KalPa’s 3-2 win.

Celebrating Lord Venkateshwara’s Grand Festival-Srivari Brahmotsavam 2020
Srivari Brahmotsavasam is celebrated in the month of September and October every year, praising the fame of Lord Venkateshwara, and Goddess Padmavathi on the eve of Dussehra festival. Do you know that Lord Venkateshwara is the only God who enjoys more than 450 festivals celebrated in a year? Among all festivals, Brahmotsavams are the most popular ones.
Significance and history behind Tirumala Brahmotsavams
Brahmotsavam by the name has Brahma, the creator, and Utsavam means celebration, i.e., celebrations initiated by the creator Brahma for Lord Venkateshwara. History says that Brahma comes to earth to conduct the festival for Lord Venkateshwara by chanting Sri Venkateshwara Sahasranama Stotra. The festival was signified by a small, empty wooden chariot called Brahmarathnam, which moves ahead of the processions of Lord Venkateshwara.
What to know about Tirumala Brahmotsavams 2020?
It is a 9-day festival celebration of Lord Venkateshwara, which starts on the 19th of September, 2020, that falls on Saturday.
The first day (19-09-2020)
The morning begins with Dwajarohana, raising the Garuda Flag, which signifies the beginning of the festival. The same day night, we can see Lord Venkateshwara taking processions on a large seven-headed Adisesha Vahana.
The second day (20-09-2020)
In the morning, Swami appears on a small five-headed Adisesha Vahana and takes processions. Similarly, in the night, it is Hamsa Vahana in which you can see Lord Venkateshwara sitting on Hamsa, the swan, and taking processions.
The third day (21-09-2020)
The third morning begins with the Lord Venkateshwara appearing as gigantic and courageous in Simha Vahana, the Lion, and takes processions. The day ends with the Swami appearing on Muthyapu Pandiri Vahana, decorated with colorful and fragrant flowers.
The fourth day (22-09-2020)
The morning starts with the Swami taking processions in the amazing Kalpa Vriksha Vahana. Kalpa Vriksham is a tree that is believed to give unlimited money. You should definitely have more than two eyes to see the shine of both Vahana and Swami. Now at the end of the day, we can see the Lord in Sarva Bhoopala Vahana. In this Vahana, the chariot appears like the decoration inside the Garbagudi of the main idol.
The fifth day (23-09-2020)
Now we move to the fifth day morning to see Swami in Mohini Avataram. Mohini is the Hindu Goddess and the only female avatar of Lord Vishnu. Therefore, Lord Venkateshwara takes processions in this avatar for devotees. The same day ends with the Swami taking processions in Garuda Vahana, which has a giant Garudas carrying Swami in front of the chariot.
The sixth day (24-09-2020)
On the sixth day morning, it is Hanumantha Vahana, Swarna Ratha. On this day, Swami takes processions in Anjaneya swami Vahana on a Golden chariot, and in the night time, he takes caravans in Gaja (Elephant) Vahana in front.
The seventh day (25-09-2020)
Here comes the seventh day morning where you can see Utsava Swami in Surya Prabha Vahana. This Vahana resembles the shape of the Sun in the front, and the sun rays are decorated with long clothes at the back. Since in the day he was traveling on the Sun, in the night, he takes processions in Chandra Prabha Vahana, i.e., the Moon.
The eighth day (26-09-2020)
On the eighth day morning, we have Rathotsavam. This day is celebrated grandly since Lord Venkateshwara sits on top of the gigantic chariot. Devotees pull the chariot with all their strength and devotion for taking God to processions. The same day night, Swami takes caravans in Aswa (horse) Vahanam, which looks delightful.
The ninth day (27-09-2020)
On the final day of Brahmotsavams, we can see Lord Venkateshwara in Pallaki Utsavam; Swami goes for processions in a wooden chariot decorated with all flowers like how a king/queen takes processions to temples or any place in their country. The Brahmotsavams for Swami ends with Chakrasnanam (Dwajarohanam), the same day night. Swami is taken to Pushkarani, the temple pond, for a bath and returns to the temple in his original condition how he was, before carrying him out for processions.
Conclusion
This is how Brahmotsavams happen in Tirumala every year, which also has Dussehra Brahmotsavams in parallel for Goddess Padamvathi. Hope this blog was informative and useful to you. Keep reading our blogs for more info about Tirumala and its fame.

angel info post
Tumblr media
its been soooooooooooooo long since i’ve made one of these...i really didnt think i’d make another but the comic gives...and i must preach the good word...
Angels are....a subject I have at least a moderate amount of knowledge on in this comic since we’ve not seen a lot about them . There are 6 types of angels (known as Aeons) starting with Plasma, Vapor, Liquid, Solid (Metamorphic, Igneous), Crystal, and Neutron (in order of youngest to oldest) as they age . Apparently Liquid angels like our 82 White Chain Born In Emptiness Returns To Subdue Evil are relatively young as far as angels go . Angels belong to the Protectors section of the Inheritors while Devils belong to the Destroyers .
Angels are born from a cold rigid flame / A mirror to the Devils hot black flame .They are imprinted with the knowledge of all laws and have a strong sense of honor . Though many angels , after the fall of the primes and due to the general chaotic nature of throne have become almost mercenaries for hire . These rogue angels can mostly only defeated by another angel as all angels are masters of a certain type of martial art . They have tens of thousands of years to reflect on these arts and perfect them .
Each angel has a number before their obtuse name which is the number of times they’ve reincarnated .
Tumblr media
(here is 82 white chain , a liquid angel in their armor which allows them to exist in the material plane)
Tumblr media
(here is 6 juggernaut star scours the universe , an igneous angel . outside of their thorn armor .)
above angels , the closest thing to yisun and his descendant gods were Prime Angels . These angels had grown to monstrous heights and swollen after the gods they attended to perished and were the greatest of the angels . They guarded throne for 30 cycles of 4.32 billion years , or 30 Kalpa . Unlike the void bound angels they had never died until the Conquering King Zoss had killed them all , giving their first incarnation an exceptionally long time .
HERE is a picture of one of the dead gods corpses being used as a guild house with smaller but still massive prime angel corpses around them .
HERE is a picture of some more of the prime angels and a little story about what happened for the story to be where it is.

The Merits of The Diamond Sutra and Dedication
Original Discourse By Venerable Jing Yuan; Translation by Studying The Dharma
The Buddha’s teaching – the prajna wisdom behind the teachings, guides all beings to destruct ignorance and be free from life and death.
The Mahā-prajñāpāramitā Sūtra translated by Master Xuan Zang can be counted as the sovereign sutra when we talk about wisdom of the dharma. There are immeasurable merits accumulated regardless of whether the sutra is being copied by hand, printed, recited, contemplated upon, applied by practice and so on.
The treatise, Fundamental Verses on the Middle Way, written by Master Nagarjuna from India, gives a straight explanation of the wisdom of emptiness as presented in the Mahā-prajñāpāramitā Sūtra. The Fundamental Verses on the Middle Way treatise holds an extremely important position in the history of Chinese Buddhism.
The treatise Ornament of Clear Realization by Master Asangha explains the stages of the path to Buddhahood as presented in the Mahā-prajñāpāramitā Sūtra. This treatise has also been translated.
The treatise, Golden Garland of Eloquence, by Master Tsong-kha-pa, explains in detail in on the emptiness taught in the Fundamental Verses on the Middle Way.
We have the honor and privilege to receive the detailed explanation of the Golden Garland of Eloquence, written by a great Geshe, which the sangha community and lay devotees have been joyously learning. The Diamond Sutra comes from a part of the Mahā-prajñāpāramitā Sūtra. When the Great Master Hui Neng, the Sixth Patriarch of Chan Buddhism, was young, he first learnt from The Diamond Sutra that there should be no attachment to the secular world before one can fully practice the dharma in depth. He was deeply inspired and gained great insight to become a great master that propagates Chan Buddhism. The Diamond Sutra thus gained recognition widely.
When I first studied Buddhism 30 years ago, the first sutra that I copied was The Diamond Sutra. There will be two great Geshes that will be giving discourse on The Diamond Sutra these two days, the sangha community and lay devotees will be receiving this great teaching with rejoice. Personally, I like The Diamond Sutra very much, and will definitely listen to the discourses with great focus.
As The Diamond Sutra has said, “Subhuti, I remember that countless kalpas ago, before the time of Dipankara Buddha, I have encountered 84,000 billion nayutas of buddhas, made offerings to, and served all of them without fail. However, if someone in the Dharma-ending age can recite, remember, comprehend, and follow this sutra, this person’s virtue will be one hundred times, even a hundred trillion times greater than mine when I made offerings to all these buddhas. In fact, no such comparison either by calculation or analogy is possible.“
After receiving the discourses from the Geshes, I will solemnly make dedications for all supporters.

There is no manifestation of the Buddha that is not inseparably one with Guru Rinpoché, and so to pray to him is the same as praying to all the buddhas.
If we can pray with real fervor to Guru Rinpoché, he will remove all obstacles and enable us to progress along the path.
Whenever we pray to Guru Rinpoche, we should not just mouth the words, but pray one-pointedly from the core of our heart, from the marrow of our bones, and with a devotion that consumes our mind.
~ Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche in his book, Guru Yoga:

Petition to the most eminent lord muthsera Redoran Tedor Hadril Releth
In the light of the Three Everlasting, Most Merciful, Master of the Wheel, the Hidden Hierophant, at Blacklight, the calend of bold Felms under the Atronach in the 2984th year of the Tribunal, glory to the ever-victorious ALMSIVI, may They be exalted!
Ignorant and worthless as the ashworm that the slave tramples underfoot Redoran Alendryl Verdras Kena prostrates himself most humbly before the most eminent lord muthsera Redoran Tedor Hadril Releth, honoured councillor of the Red, may his wisdom and might be the pride of his house for ten thousand kalpas, greetings.
Having considered by what means I your most humble slave should dare address your lordship's benevolent presence, it occurred to me that your lordship values nothing so much as the divine virtues of fortrightness, boldness and honesty, which have ever been the mantle of this house; wherefore I at once resolved to subdue the awe and love I feel towards the diamond-like dust touched by your lordship's feet and submit to your lordship's benevolent presence the plea of a worm in the form of a common letter; for I, being a man of letters and frail of body in my advanced age, have not the strength nor cunning by which I might with martial feats earn your lordship's favour, must resort to what little is known to me; that is, the arts of fine-lettering and right-talking, or rather the shadow of a shadow thereof as laid out in the teachings of our sublime lady who rules the middle air, thrice-blessed be Her sacred name.
As your lordship surely recalls, I have been employed in your lordship's household for five years now, as before you in that of your lordship's dearly-beloved mother the late most eminent lady muthsera Redoran Almse Belosi Releth, may her wisdom serve and defend her house forever more. In that time, I have come to love and adore your lordship as though you were my own father for your grace and wisdom, and have sought to repay the boons your lordship has granted to me in whatever slight way an old bookish mer such as myself may by devoting myself to the education of your lordship's daughter and heir, the noble lady muthsera Redoran Almse Vorani Releth. But alas, what evil fates have punished me! Alas, what woes torment me!
For though your lordship's daughter is dear to me as the child of my very own blood and your lordship has shown me nought but kindness, I yet find myself beset by challenges. Of late, the noble lady Almse has been most discourteous to this frail old mer, as many of her age become, her noble blood no doubt tainted by the foul influence of the common knaves, whores, rogues and other verminous lizard-like mer that prowl the bowels of this city; and I, lacking the strength I possessed in my youth and too fond of the noble lady to be severe with her, have found myself unable to fulfil my duties to your lordship.
Because "all language is based on meat" as our beloved Lady of Whispers instructs us, and your lordship is far too cunning to be fooled by sweetened lies, let me offer an example to strengthen my case. Just yesterday, as Azura's rosy hour approached, I was engaged as usual in the instruction of the noble lady Almse, having elected to make good use of the pleasant weather to take my lesson to the roof and lecture on the mystery of dusk and the principles of three-cornered holy geometry which are best revealed in the fading light, I found my noble disciple distracted and inattentive. At first I supposed the lady might have fallen ill, and inquired whether she was unwell, which she denied.
After I sternly reminded her of the sacred nature of that lesson, I continued to elaborate on the meanings of the angles and the three-fold magics of the bow, the bowstring, and the arrow, when the noble lady Almse spied one of her degenerate companions in the street below, a dusty scoundrel who I am ashamed to tell moved and held himself like an n'wah, and at once she stepped up to the railing and engaged the foul mer in indecorious conversation, shouting so loudly all the neighbours must have witnessed the dishonour she brought upon your lordship and her poor tutor, and using base and odious language. When I, filled with righteous fury at this unworthy display from a scion of House Redoran, admonished her, the noble lady Almse merely laughed in my face, calling me an "old fool" and a "withered slave" and other cruelties with which I shall not sully your lordship's ears. Whereupon she wiped out the circles and figures I had drawn in the ash of the roof to instruct her with her foot before descending from the roof and absconding with the mongrel fiend.
As your lordship knows too well, I am not unaccustomed to restraining and educating rowdy youths on the principles of proper action, and would not be addressing your lordship's exalted presence with my unworthy complaints were it not for the distress in which I presently find myself, which fills my heart with worry and strips me of the dignity that should imbue the disciple with worthy love and respect for her wizened master. For though your lordship has treated me with great generosity, granting me a chamber within your household and a place at your retainers' table, I find myself once more in need of your lordship's mercy. For are not my robes so threadbare women avert their eyes as I walk past, my shoes so thin I feel every cobblestone and pebble like a needle in my skin, and my cloak so worn my teeth chatter whenever the frozen Skyrim winds come down from the Velothis? Is not my purse so empty that I cannot afford coals for my fire, but must heat my chamber with odorous guar dung? Have I not been forced to pawn some of my dearest and most prized books to procure ink and paper?
Having thus described my present situation, and the distress to which your lordship's most noble, wise and beautiful daughter has driven me, I must once again throw myself before your lordship's feet and entrust my fate to your boundless mercy which is without equal in any mortal. I humbly beseech your lordship for a raise.
Again.
Nothing remains but to assure your most magnificent lordship of my continued love and loyalty. I would loathe having to seek employment elsewhere, but whatever your noble mind thinks, that is the best.
May you always walk in the radiant light of the Three Ever-Victorious, Most Merciful, Master of the Wheel, the Hidden Hierophant; may Their Anticipations keep and reward you and the Corners turn away.
I am and remain your most humble and obedient slave, Redoran Alendryl Verdras Kena

Sengo Soulmate
Kalpas
A Kalpas x reader Soulmate AU, chapter 6, the final chapter below!
As much as you needed to mourn the pain in your heart, the destructive force of Honkai was not known for its compassion. Within a day, you had been given another assignment, and within three, you found yourself on a dropship. Through the entire mission, you were a bit distracted.
On the way there, you were distracted by thoughts of Kalpas. Even though you knew the only difference in your tattoo was visible, your mind kept telling you otherwise. There was a lack of weight on your arm that you had never noticed before. Not even a weight so much as a pressure. Now that it was gone, you felt exposed, as though you had a lost a layer of protection.
Given the blank look you had the entire way there, your teammates were hesitant to let you into the field. Once you got into the motion of fighting, however, adrenaline cleared any lingering thoughts, and you appreciated the distraction. It was a chance for you to let go of all the emotion you had pent up without putting a hole in the wall. Statistically, it was your best mission yet. When you got back to the ship, there were pats on your back, and you even found yourself smiling for a few minutes. Slowly, the conversation died down, however, and you were left again with thoughts of Kalpas.
If you two were still talking, would you have come back to base and told him how it went? Would he congratulate you? Probably not, but the thought made you give a bittersweet laugh. Would he tell you about some crazy adventure he went on where he did twice what you had done in your whole career in one week? Maybe, you decided, if he was in the mood.
Eventually you figured he would say nothing. You’d be talking at him, as usual, but…at least you’d get to see him. To sit by him and share stories, and maybe catch a glimpse at the sliver of his face that wasn’t covered by his mask. Feel his flames grow dangerously close if someone tried to sit at your table; or hear him rumble deep in his chest to show he was still listening.
Back in your room, you ended up crying again. You had gotten home late that night and slept in the next morning. If Hua hadn’t come into your room, you probably would have skipped lunch and hidden away all day. She calmly walked in as if she owned the place—even though she had never visited before. Then she pulled the covers completely off the bed and started tugging you out. Both of you knew she could easily carry you all the way to the dining hall, but that wasn’t her goal.
Allowing you to continue being a lump, just in a different location, would not help you at all. Her aim was to get you up and wanting to eat again. It wouldn’t happen overnight, she knew that, but she was on base, and she was going to help you while she could. Kalpas would be out for a while, and it would be best if you could heal while he was away.
It took a bit of coddling, and at one point you had to duck into an empty lab to cry a bit more, but Hua held your hand the whole way—literally at some points. Within an hour of her impromptu visit, you were in the canteen eating lunch with her and making small talk. It was mostly Hua speaking, which you were thankful for, her calming voice helped both to distract and ground you.
After lunch, she offered to train with you, but you declined. It was nice seeing her and knowing she was concerned for you, but you were drained, and your bed sounded way too appealing to turn down.
One quick nap later, you wrote up the report for your most recent mission, thew away some of the stray tissues by your bed and managed to make cup noodles before you had a brief cry. With that out of your system, and seemingly replaced with exhaustion, you fell asleep for the night.
It took time, but between the high number of deployments and low amount of energy you had, the tears slowly dwindled. Looking at your arm was still a huge source of every type of emotion, however. Pain at what was essentially the loss of your soulmate, anger at how Kalpas had treated you, longing for the relationship you didn’t and might never have, and a sort of bitterness at the universe for putting you in this mess.
Several weeks had gone by since you last saw Kalpas—your schedules not lining up—not that you were complaining. Where you had previously wrapped your mark to hide it from others, you now wrapped it to hide it from yourself. Unfortunately, there was a meeting being held that required all Flame Chasers attend. Meaning Kalpas would be back on base.
When Eden told you, you originally thought she was suggesting you take the opportunity to approach Kalpas again. She was quick to clarify and say she was only trying to warn you, so you could avoid him if you wanted. No matter what you decided to do, she would be supportive; even going so far as to ask if you wanted her to keep him away from you.
Lying a little, you said you didn’t want to trouble her. In truth, you didn’t think it would matter. Kalpas had made it clear how he felt about you. If he didn’t want to see you, that was his problem, you weren’t going to alter your schedule for him. He was pretty straight forward too, if you told him to fuck off, you were sure he would.
Nothing ever seems to go how you expect.
The first day Kalpas was back on base, he found you before he even checked in. Suddenly being pulled down a rarely-used side hall would startle anyone, so your reaction of punching your attacker was completely understandable. Though punching a brick wall probably hurt you more than the wall. Turning to land a hit, you saw that it was Kalpas holding your arm. For a fraction of a second, there was a flash of recognition on your face, and then rage.
There was absolutely time for you to hold your punch, but instead, you took that opportunity to change your target. You knew hitting him anywhere wouldn’t hurt him at all, but it sure as hell would make you feel better. So, rather than punching his mask—which seemed a bit more painful—you punched him in the ribs. All that got you was a chuckle, but Kalpas did allow you to have your arm back.
Wrenching your arm back to your side, you spun around and left without a second glance. Surprisingly, he didn’t follow you, and you were able to go about your day as usual, for the most part. At least until lunch.
The table you sat at now was easily overlooked, and you ate quickly so the chance of anyone recognizing you was lower. You weren’t completely isolated, your teammates would join you occasionally, though that left you feeling like a third wheel. Most lunches, if you were eating in the canteen, were spent alone doing work, or just letting your mind rest after a long day.
Despite all your planning, Kalpas found you on his first glance around the room. Almost as if you two had a sort of bond or something, you scoffed at yourself and looked away as he sat down across from you. Normally, you were the one to start conversations between you two. Since it was clear you wanted to be anywhere else, there were a few strained seconds before Kalpas spoke.
“Why are you sitting here?” it was a question you were expected to answer, but it was phrased as if the answer was obvious.
“Why do you go to lunch when you never eat?” You were trying to put him but, you did want to know why he just sat in the canteen. Kalpas refused to take his mask off, so he couldn’t actually eat. Most days he just sat there brooding with an untouched plate of food in front of him; the days he wasn’t doing that, he was brooding without the plate of food. Before, you recognized that asking about the mask might be a touchy subject, so you never brough it up. Now, you hoped it would piss him off so you could leave.
“I sit with you,” he spoke as if it were obvious.
“You hated my guts when I tried to sit with you. You still hate my guts!” you laughed as if in disbelief. “If you want nothing to do with me, like you said, then you’re going to get nothing.” All the hatred you’d been holding must have reached a breaking point. Starting a fight with Kalpas—or even just yelling at him—was never, under any circumstances, a good idea. Yet, here you are, practically spitting in his face.
Deciding it would be best if you left before something worse came out of your mouth, you pushed off from the table, and exited the canteen in a rush. Partly to burn off steam, and partly to hopefully lose Kalpas if he decided to follow and kill you.
He did follow you, but there was no killing.
You quickly realized he was trailing you, and suddenly having had enough, you turned around and shoved at his chest until he buckled into one of the empty training rooms. “What! What do you want?!” you waited for the doors to close behind you, but you doubted they hid how angry you were. Kalpas scoffing at you did not help.
“You spent all that time trying to talk to me and now you’re telling me to get lost?”
“Get lost, piss off, kick rocks, I don’t care! If you don’t want me as a soulmate, I don’t want to be around you! I will never be able to see you as anything else, and I will always resent you for never letting us have the relationship we could have. Just let me go be miserable on my own. Don’t get my hopes up that something more might happen.”
What had started as a passionate and aggressive speech had dwindled until you were speaking in a soft tone and had your arms pulled up around you. Kalpas didn’t look at you while he spoke, instead, he held up his arm and observed it while flexing his hand. Distantly you realized it was his right arm, the same arm that held your tattoo.
“The mark I had,” he started slowly, his voice so deep you felt it before your brain processed the words. “It’s been gone for years. I don’t need it.” A sharp stab of pain went through your heart as your thoughts ran wild without your permission.
He doesn’t need his mark. He doesn’t need his soulmate. He doesn’t need me—
“I can still feel the bond I have with my soulmate,” Kalpas continued, not noticing your distress. “Some stupid tattoo doesn’t determine the relationship I have with them.” He finally looked over to you, “go find your soulmate. Quit trying to be mine. I already have one.” Rather than angry, he sounded more irritated, like he was telling a child not to run in the road for the millionth time. Unfortunately for him, you were just as irritated.
“I know you have a soulmate, you jackass. It’s me!”
“No.”
“Will you just-!” In one motion, you pulled up your sleeve, you lunged forward and grabbed his hand. Almost instantly, your mark bloomed and the familiar outline of a mask, along with the weight you felt before returned. Kalpas just stared at you, but despite your growing nervousness, you remained steady and held on to his hand. “I’ve been trying to tell you—”
You didn’t even see it happen, everything moved so fast. You heard Kalpas’ mask clatter to the floor and felt his lips against your own as your eyes slid closed. He completely surrounded you, both physically with his arms and mentally with his overwhelming presence. Once again, your relationship changed in a way you weren’t expecting, but there was no way in hell you would have it any other way. The kiss was urgent and filled with so much more emotion than you ever could have expected.
Maybe Elysia was right about Kalpas being passionate, you thought in a haze as you both pulled apart for air. Your head was still up in the clouds, but Kalpas pulled you down when he pulled your arm away and turned it over so you both could see the mark. Again, it was rapidly growing.
Though still incomplete, the outline of a mask had become as detailed as the one laying on the ground now, including scratches and dents from battles. The lines you couldn’t recognize before formed the distinct shape of the pistols you fought with. The pistols were crossed under the mask and the pieces blended together perfectly.
There was no color, and some areas were empty and clearly not finished, but it was obvious your relationship had made a large jump, and just as obvious who your soulmate was. Kalpas hadn’t picked his mask up off the floor, so you took those few seconds to admire him.
With how often you heard him chuckle or give the most threating laugh you’d ever heard, it wasn’t surprising to see him grinning at you now. The scars that covered his face almost looked like freckles in places and you silently dreamed of the day he trusted you enough to let you kiss all of them.
Kalpas pulled you into another fierce kiss before you could stare for too long. You nearly missed the way his hand found your soulmate mark and started rubbing over it almost soothingly. It was one of the most touching gestures he had ever shown you and it sent your heart fluttering—more than it already was—and made you smile into the kiss.
Your free hand wound its way into his hair to finally touch the singed edges you had spent every lunch together staring at. Despite the hair being clearly burnt, it was surprisingly soft in the places it wasn’t damaged. Those places may be few and far between, but you could happily spend all day with your hands in his hair.
Kosma ended up finding you both a few minutes later. Out of the three people in the room, you seemed to be the only one embarrassed by the situation. Kalpas refused to turn around and show his face, so he was just looking down at you while Kosma spoke to his back. When the other Flame Chaser left, Kalpas laughed at the blush covering your face, but he let you keep holding onto his arm while he settled his mask back onto his face with his other hand.
You placed a quick kiss to the mask, and then sent him off to the meeting, both of you holding secret smiles for the rest of the day. Looking down at the mark on your arm that had caused you so much trouble, you ran a hand over it admiring the art. That stupid tattoo had been a pain in the ass for most of your life, but if it brought you Kalpas, you’d take it any day of the week.
