so i just started writing a new kylux fic...it’s going pretty well, I’ll probably have the first part up pretty soon......but this specific story has quite a bit of significant person meaning to me and it has been a very interesting experience for me writing even just the first couple thousand words...i’m really curious to see how people react to this one

I lived on a tiny remote island for four months with a crew of nine people that was 1000 miles from other civilization and could only be reached by either a week-long sail or a three hour chartered flight that lands on a rubble runway that's leftover from WWII. 6° N of the equator. what you need to know about this is that there is only one flightpath that passes over this island, and it's a weekly flight from Samoa to Hawai'i, and that the plane is visible to the southwest of base station at roughly 11 PM on saturday nights. I need you to know that at this time every week there are people on this island that stay awake to see this alien bird and ask each other if anyone on that plane knows that they're there. that they wonder if anyone can see the lantern at the end of the crumbling boat dock that they turn on after dark to watch the manta rays make circles under the light.

my favorite game to play is when Monty texts me with a vague animal or plant or insect description and asks if I know what he saw. and then I do know what he saw 👍

In contrast to the eyeball leeches, what is your favorite unusual animal that you get to interact with regularly where you are and why?

LOVE THIS QUESTION ❤️ I could give many answers but I think my favorite animal I see almost daily are the manta rays. I could write sonnets about them! They are so big and beautiful and intelligent and the insides of their mouths glimmer like mother of pearl. I know many of the mantas individually and they are very dear to me 🥲
