I think a cool thing therians should start promoting is donating to conservation centers related to their theriotype. I think it would be a really good way to feel a connection to your theirotype, knowing that you contributed to the safety and nurturing of your species.

therian tip? kinda? if possible, learning to move your ears is SO nice if you can do it i learned to do it when i was like 14

and yeah. it slaps

unsure how you teach yourself? youre not actually moving the ears themselves, its basically your whole scalp! i just sorta practiced moving above my eyebrows, which i dont know how i learned to do. but yeah my human ears actually instinctively move like animal ones

i seriously do not understand why some see quadrobics as a necessary aspect of being alterhuman. part of it being that i’m disabled — but even when i was abled and dabbled in it, it kind of just made me feel worse

even when my body moved in the ‘correct’ ways, i was hyperaware of how incorrect my muscular/bone structure felt — more so than when i was just idling or walking bipedally

i don’t know. i feel just as nonhuman walking, running, jumping, moving as a human… even sitting, resting, sleeping. it’s the nuances and intent that make me feel animal, not the posture.

i feel just as nonhuman sauntering out in public — because even though it isn’t the case, i feel four legs, my head feels the right shape, i can feel my tail behind me… i can just be without having to think so much about it. i think that brings me more joy than being able to run faster or jump higher or whatever.

i’m sure it can be fun and validating for some to do quadrobics, and i know people say over and over again that it’s okay to not do quadrobics — but remember WHY it’s okay. if you’re disabled or don’t have the resources, time, privacy, try and look for things in your day to day life that make you feel animal. reinforce the idea in your head that you’re a wonderful beast hidden among human people

i’m surprised i haven't seen more therians talking about kemono friends?

i can see why the “(thing) but cute anime girl” formula would drive people away, but it’s a really sweet and surprisingly educational show with a lot of love and passion poured into it. also basically 0 fanservice…? crazy!

it takes place in an abandoned safari park after the fall of mankind where most animals have mutated into humanoids with animal traits due to a weird substance that rains down from the sky after volcanic explosions. i dunno i’m just so charmed by the eerie beauty amidst decay and the whole prospect of nature reclaiming its domain, especially in a zoo/wildlife park setting

all of the characters still act and think more animal than human and talk a lot about their past lives as regular animals, and since they don’t have to worry about predation anymore they all just hang out together in their respective biomes. a lot of the interactions feel very reminiscent of the alterhuman community. like chevrotain will gush about how she loves the smell of wet grass and fog, or african elephant is eager to be a leader because she wants to be like the matriarch of the herd she was in when she was an animal..

they also have segments in every episode where they interview a random zoo about a character featured in the episode and i’m obsessed with it. and if you figure they probably won't feature your 'type, the franchise has at LEAST 500 animals in total. all around overwhelmingly charming series, surprisingly underrated. 10/10 would recommend for any and all animals. it’s kind of a shame it hasn’t gained more attention in the community
