I'm asking for BBB Luke lore 🤲

I'm so eeped about this because!!! Aroorororororo omg???? AAAAA thank you, you total legend.

Here is the bit I wrote a while back about Tatooine Lore, plus how he survived with weaker skin, and here is a little about how I worked around the traditional aspect of a vampire and how their creation might carefully slot into the gffa!

I think I'd really like to freaking talk about his mental state, loneliness, longing, self-loathing etc, sooo this is slightly heavier? But you write like the most doomed-to-fail angst-ridden stories, so I think you're alright with it. (I won't go into triggering territory as that stuff is barely mentioned in the story fr, I just wanna spill somewhere yk??)

I wanna preface this by saying that I have not completely rewritten Luke's character to be apathetic or depressing, and that his soft and cheerful demeanour and sweet behaviours naturally shine through his Jedi Master veil (pun unintended). But, when you're a vampire, and when vampires are notoriously whispered about in the far corners of your galaxy to be thieves, murderers, blood-drinkers etc, it becomes very difficult to make and maintain healthy relationships with those around you. And, as we know that in the actual OT, Luke's relationship with his friends, father, Master, sister, and his trust in all of them, is what guides him and leads him to conquer the darkness in the galaxy, when Luke loses that trust, he begins to lose faith in everything else he knows.

Not only that, but that darkness begins to return. (We don't talk about that yet. 🤫)

Anyway, I think anyone who has experienced a kind of betrayal and loneliness like he has is unready to actually place themselves in a situation where they might face the same ordeal. (You read more about that betrayal, hurt and anguish in chapter 9!)

That's where Din comes in. Aaaand also why Luke is so determined to know whether Din plans to leave him or not in the future. He's been left behind numerous times in his life. If Din leaves, especially with Grogu, he won't be able to continue living knowing that he's failed.

At least Grogu will be safe, right?

This leads him down a very very dark, repetitive mindset once he begins to develop feelings for Din. This loop looks something like this. 👇

I am a Jedi -> no attachments -> I am attached to Din -> therefore Din must leave Yavin, as he is a detriment to my training -> if he leaves Yavin, I won't be able to cope alone, as he will take Grogu and my purpose will be stripped from me -> if Din leaves Yavin, I will die -> I don't want to die, as I haven't completely my training, and the Force will not accept me -> but I am a Jedi -> Jedi have no attachments -> I am attached to Din.

And so on and so forth.

As well as, I love Din -> Din could not possibly love me -> if I tell him I love him, he will leave me, because he doesn't love me -> if he leaves me, I will die -> I don't want to die -> but living with Din when he's outside my reach hurts me -> which means Din has to leave -> if he leaves I will die -> I don't want to die -> I don't want to die because I have Din -> I love Din

As you can see, it's viscious. (I'm viscious. Me. The author. I'm not always mean to Luke I swear-)

Sooo... its a bit of a predicament, as you can see, but I won't explain how I solve it, as that's for my readers to live in fear about.

I also love believing that Luke has ADHD, PTSD and other anxiety disorders, hallucinative tendencies — because, as a vampire, he is particularly intuned to the Force, and can see things that many people can not.

I'll leave it at the last idea that, when he sees things that others can't, it bothers him, because often it is an irregularity, a shift from his comfortable zone in spacetime, or the demons rapping at his door, and he can't change it because it is out of his dimension :3

I want to hear more about the scars!

How would she act around other people mentioning them?

BBB!Luke wears a veil because he's embarrassed and finds himself ugly after Palpatine scarred him, but we know Grim doesn't so that.

I'd love to see how much more they have in common (our OCs) and/or how they react differently to a similar situation.

Leia was the first to see Luke's scars, so, another one! Who was the first to see her this way and what was their reaction?

Did it differ from her own?

OUGH this is such a good question!!

I'm going to answer these for each of her scars in the order she got them. Also this is under a cut because this is over 1.5k words. You got an essay. I am so sorry.

Back Scars - Grim gained these on Zygerria / Kadavo during that one mission. She was with Obi-Wan at the time, so it really did not go well for her.

Grim hopes people don't notice these scars. She doesn't like to be asked about them. These scars are not proof of surviving anything to her. Grim's entire experience on Zygerria / Kadavo was very traumatizing for her. It was also the first time she was ever tortured or captured. (She's did better than Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka at this point lol). Grim kind of pushes down the whole event. She only discusses it soon after the fact with Obi-Wan and Ahsoka. After that if she has anything she needs to get off her chest she will just write it down. So if anybody asked about them or brought them up Grim would be caught off guard and it would take her a moment to collect herself before she can say anything. And when she does it's mainly a response that tries to avoid saying anything.

As I mentioned she was with Obi-Wan at the time, so Obi-Wan was the first one to see these scars, as the dress she was wearing for her undercover disguise didn't have a full back. On top of that her tank top doesn't fully cover her scars. When Obi-Wan saw them he was so sorry Grim had to go through it. As he was there when she got these scars. This is their conversation right after they've been tortured:

Grim didn’t even notice when her shackles were undone and she was dragged back to Obi-Wan. She didn’t notice the slavers leave the cell, and the two Jedi alone in the dark.

Not until she felt Obi-Wan’s warmth, how he was holding her, careful about her back.

“M-master?” she asked weakly.

“I’m so sorry, little one,” he whispered.

It was too dark to see, but she could hear the tears.

She closed her eyes and moved closer to him, resting her head on his shoulder. “It’s alright, Obi-Wan, it’s not your fault,” she told him. “I’m here.”

“You shouldn’t be,” he said quietly.

“I chose to be. I choose every time.”

Obi-Wan smiled, although the padawan didn’t see. “This was never your war.”

“Maybe not, but I made it my war.”

“I’m sorry this happened to you, Grim.”

“I made the choice.”

“I meant the torture.”

“Oh, well I knew that was bound to happen at some point. I still made the choice didn’t I?”

Obi-Wan made a gentle sound that turned pained. Both of them suffering from their injuries of the torture they had gone through.

-The Clone Wars Gets A New Victim, Part II: The Clouds, Chapter 18: Compassion Breaks

Face Scar - Grim got this scar during her second battle with Sidious. Which was a week after the first one, and also a week after Obi-Wan returned from faking his death and being undercover as Hardeen.

If Grim's face scar is brought up she will straight up lie about it. She doesn't want anyone to know she's fought Darth Sidious so she keeps it a secret. Her reaction is almost defensive because it reminds her of that fight (which not only was she scarred from it she got tortured to! She has so much trauma!) She claims it was a lightsaber training accident. Because she realized her first excuse of jumping out a window will not convince anyone when she lives at the Jedi Temple during The Clone Wars. People notice lightsaber wounds Grim-

Once again the first person to notice this scar was Obi-Wan. Grim was trying to sneak back to her room and avoid going to the healers, but she ran into Obi-Wan. Who she was pretending was still "dead" at the time. Got to love that angst! I'll just share another snippet of TCWGANV for Obi-Wan's reaction.

Of course Grim wasn't having a very lucky day, and she walked right into Obi-Wan who noticed her injuries instantly. "Grim, what happened?" he asked her.

Grim tried to shrug him off, and continued to go to her room.

Obi-Wan stood in front of her and crossed his arms. "You can't keep acting like I'm dead, Grim. And now you're injured, you're bleeding even, so tell me, what happened?"

She was bleeding? Grim hadn't noticed any blood. Oh, perhaps jumping out a window was even dumber than she had thought. "I jumped out a window?" she sounded unsure of herself.

"You jumped out a window?" Obi-Wan repeated slowly. "Why were you jumping out a window?"

"Umm…" Grim hadn't thought this through.

That was when the realization hit her. She had told Sidious the truth. That she was from another universe. Suddenly, without warning she started crying.

This took Obi-Wan by surprise. "Grim?" he asked worriedly.

It was then he noticed the scar on her face. His eyes widened in instant recognition. That was a lightsaber scar. What happened? Something told him it wasn't a training accident.

He hugged Grim. At first she tensed at the contact. Still in fight or flight. Then, she melted into it and hugged him back, sobbing into his chest. "I'm so sorry Master, I've been so petty, acting like you were dead, and now I've been such an idiot," she sobbed.

"Shh," Obi-Wan said gently, soothing his padawan. "It's alright Grim, I forgive you. What happened?"

She looked up at him, her emerald eyes shimmered with tears, her hair was a mess, and her face was covered in small cuts, and there was that scar on her face. It was impossible to miss. "I was an idiot, I should listen to you more often," she told him.

Obi-Wan could tell she wouldn't say more. "We should get you to the healers."

"Do I have to?" She whined.

"Yes," he told her. Gentle yet firm.

-The Clone Wars Gets A New Victim, Part III: The Rain, Chapter 21: Scars and Ghosts

Shoulder Scar / X Scar - Gotten from Savage after she saved Adi Galia. Perfect timing for this one too, I just posted this chapter yesterday!

Oh yeah this one is fun. This is one scar Grim is proud of from the start. She got it, not from losing but from winning. Grim changed things and she saved someone. So right away if someone asked she would proudly tell them how she got it. Not too pridefully of course, that wouldn't be fitting for a Jedi. But this is not something she is ashamed of.

As for the first person to see it, well it was Obi-Wan again because when Grim screamed he looked and saw what happened. His response was to attack Savage. Adi noticed too of course but I forgot to write about her reaction. She was shocked. Both Obi-Wan and Adi protected Grim after this encounter because the fight hadn't stopped and Grim is super stubborn as we all know. Also shout out to this interaction for when Hondo noticed:

He noticed the newest injury on the padawan. “What happened to you, Little Kenobi?” He asked her concerned.

“I angered a Sith,” she replied. “But I’ll be fine, I can still fight.”

“Not that well in your condition,” Hondo replied.

“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I agree with Hondo,” said Obi-Wan.

“As do I,” said Adi.

Metal Arm - From after she lost her arm to Anakin on Mustafar.

Does Grim's metal arm count as a scar? I'm counting it as a scar here.

Grim isn't really sure how to feel about it at first. She even refuses to hold Luke with it. And while in hiding Grim keeps it fully covered. She stops wearing fingerless gloves, but gloves to cover her whole hand. Along with long sleeves just to cover that arm. But after her armor in the Rebellion is damaged by Vader she doesn't cover it up. If anyone mentioned her arm to her she would tell them she survived a battle with Darth Vader. As long as it wasn't her being undercover of course!

With the first person to notice, well the missing arm was Anakin because it was his fault. But if we're not including that then it was Obi-Wan. Which his reaction was this:

"Grim!" Obi-Wan gasped. "Your arm-"

"Isn't going to stop me, I couldn't save the Jedi but I can still stop the Sith. Shall we take him together this time?"

"Grim, you're far too injured-"

"I don't care, are we fighting Skywalker together or not?"

Obi-Wan saw the fire of determination in her eyes, burning just as much as the fires that littered this world.

He had seen this look before, but then it had been when she had declared she would stay until she could save this universe.

Now the fires were the ones of a girl who had lost everything, but still refused to give up.

He detected some anger within her words and though he might warn against this, there was neither the time nor the place.

They would discuss this, and more, once they had dealt with Anakin.

And when she got her new metal arm it was again Obi-Wan who saw it first, but Grim, Obi-Wan, and Yoda had all agreed about Grim getting a new arm so it wasn't really a shock. It was more of Grim's reaction instead. Which was more to waking up in a hospital rather than her metal arm.

I haven't read your fic yet (although I need to get around to it) but what do you think would happen if BBB Luke met Rebel Grim / Master Kennet?

OOOOOO I wonder!!!

Lemme drop a couple personality traits that I think they have in common!

If Luke met Master Kennet, they might connect on the fact that they're both deeply troubled, sad, but incredibly hopeful — although, Luke's hope was beginning to slowly fade until he met Din.

I think he'd like Rebel Grim for her attitude. He'd see a lot of his sister in her at first, and then start realising why (hint! She knew Obi-wan)

Because Luke is a vampire as well as a Jedi, his senses are super attuned into the finer parts of the Force — basically, he sees in all dimensions and it freaks him out at times. Perhaps he would recognise that in another lifetime Grim had adopted him and trained him? A lifetime where he was human. If Grim can remember this lifetime and she came from her universe INSTEAD of just existing in BBB, he'd probably ask her what it was like.

He'd also love to hear about the clone wars, his father specifically, and I think Grim would melt at how much he and Leia look and act like Anakin and Padmé.

Plus! As she is sort of like a sister, and not technically from his world, he may let her see him beneath his veil (he only ever lets Leia and sometimes Ahsoka do that)

Hes incredibly embarrassed about his lightning scars, which cross his face and his entire body, plus his metal hand and wrist, so he never takes off the veil unless he's alone, let alone any other part of his clothing. But Grim has a metal arm, I think she'd soothe him over that. She doesn't seem to be the type of person to judge someone for war scars, when she has plenty of her own.

Anyway! This was an epic question :D I love this!!! Thank youuuuu. I just woke up so this is a nice morning so far. Feel free to disagree or add on!!! :D (I could add you to the taglist if ya wanted but no pressure :3 ♡)

BBB’s Tag Guide

I use a lot of acronyms or specific tags in my posts. They are for my convenience when searching through my blog so that I can more quickly find specific information, specifically character interactions - NOTE: these are not ship tags.

The tags should follow the this format: #character1.character2. The order of the characters is usually by age (oldest to youngest), but sometimes by the prevalence of the character within the post, or by their general popularity. If a character is interacting with a group as a whole, the tag format will be #character.groupabbreviation.

Below is a list of abbreviations that I use for specific characters/groups. Their corresponding hero names and alter-egos are what they will most commonly be found in my tags. This is not a comprehensive list of all characters that are mentioned on this blog, for specific characters, search them by their full name.

B - Batman (Bruce Wayne)

NW - Nightwing (Dick Grayson)

RH - Red Hood (Jason Todd)

RR - Red Robin (Tim Drake)

R - Robin (Damian Wayne)

the description of the character comes before their full name. Example - #bi!tim drake, #emo!bruce Wayne
