returning to my little project of making a fake neopet out of my fursona for the Third time, because I keep changing their design before I can finish it.
on the second attempt, I decided to stop being lazy and actually make larger vectors instead of drawing directly on a 150x150 canvas - which, surprise, is a hell of a lot easier. this time around, I'm also using the flash colour palette to make everything a bit more authentic. and I made one of those pet info pages you could see by going to the species list.
I've almost completed the basic recolour/minor lineart adjustment paintbrush colours. gonna post a bigger collection of them later when they're all finished, then move on to the unique poses, but these are my favourites so far. I was actually keeping so rigid to the official styles for a few of them (proportions & anatomy, consistent colours & shading, etc.), before straying away enough from desert to realise, wait, I can just have fun w/ it lol.
when i was 13 making an oc and having people literally at school vote on a name they chose bolt over striker for obvious reasons bc striker sounds kinda stupid but i didnt like that i preferred striker then because bolt to me is. the dog. from movie. but its still bolt years later but now that hes trans its like ok yeah . that. yeah. of course. because of the small meme of some trans people choosing kinda lame names (affectionate) just makes it make sense to me. like dave as a birth name to me kinda weird but oh wait youre trans and you chose that name ? hell yes. salute our troops 🫡
trying to use that one method of solving a problem by thinking of it as if you were explaining it to someone else to sorta force a new perspective on it and going crazier and madder each iteration until im so devoid of any mental capacity i just stare blankly into the dark of my drawing tablet and die of spontaneous combustion and rising from the ashes like an integer overflow time and time again for as long as theres a fuel to change the variables
