it's been a year since the limited life finale so here's an animatic i was gonna make, as a little treat :]

#my art #limited life #inthelittlewood #animatic #started this immediately after the strangers animatic and did everything here in like a day #was gonna do a lot more with it but i couldn't survive another animatic after the last one lol #and now I'm at the point where I'm just not thinking about mcyt so much anymore so it isn't getting finished #but i still really like this concept and i think it gets across well enough with my roughs #i know the fandom sort of settled on mars for his celestial imagery. but i always liked the meteor a lot more #that's where this animatic came from mostly. also in the voices at the start of the song there's one that always makes me think of scott #would've found a way to keep that in if i finished this. would've made the intro sort of hazy limited life memories up until the finale #which would have fit bc the 2nd half of this is also martyn reflecting on events in the 30 minutes before his death #as the world ends symbolised by the meteors which are also martyn. martyn is the meteors. you get it

So.. Grian is doing a bureaucracy now?

i unironically love it tbh. we have a mayoral office with ministries. we have a post office. now we have the annoying to deal with government agency for like, the hermitcraft equivalent of filing business paperwork. we have like... so much mundane and kind of inane government infrastructure this season and i adore it. i really REALLY hope they build another courthouse to go with all of this tbh please if anytime is ready for that it is CLEARLY NOW. i want this to be the season of doing so much stupid paperwork. unironically. i want that SO BADLY. i am SO READY.

i think my favorite thing about Pearl is the way her arcs always come back to simplicity. over and over she rejects glory in favor of just living her life. she ends HC8 by losing everything she has, diving into the void with nothing but her friends to accompany her. in Empires her kingdom was defined by farming - the very symbol of a peaceful life. in HC9's Empires crossover she actively rejects being referred to as Santa Perla, saying how absurd it would be for her, a simple cleaning lady, to be a god. even when she does remember, she doesnt make a scene out of it. theres no dramatic shouting to the room or swearing vengeance for her kingdom having been burnt - the only outward sign she gives of her memory returning is her telling Sausage, a soft word to an old friend from across the room. then she goes right back to her simple job keeping the server clean. and then there's Decked Out - she doesn't win, and she doesn't get any recognition in the final day ceremony except for a brief sentence, but she's okay with that - because she knows, and the Dungeon knows, and Tango knows, that she's the one who really understood the Dungeon. in Double Life, her entire motivation is to not be lonely - something she only manages at the very end, when she, Cleo, Martyn, and Scott are a real team, and she ends her season with the act of forgiveness as her final words. in Limited Life and Secret Life, she states outright that she doesn't want to win - she makes her goal to have good friends and to get one of them to win. over and over and over again all Pearl wants is a nice life and a few friends to share it with.
