So you know your post where you discussed the possibility of Dragon being the one to give Croc one of his signature injuries? Well, I was reading another post about Luffy's haki being the final flag for Crocodile to realize the boy was his. And then I had a thought.
Let's indulge in a little angst, shall we?
Crocodile immediately recognizing Luffy's haki from the time Dragon attacked him with it. He'd recognize it anywhere. He saw it up close and personal, after all...
I'm so sorry I am going to go on a side tangent but. The brainworms must be released
So it's never been really discussed in canon whether or not family members can have like... similar Haki Vibes, or if (Conqueror's) Haki can even be inherited from family members. Like all we know is that very few people in the world are born with Conqueror's Haki in particular. Garp wasn't particularly surprised to find out Luffy had been "born with it too", and Luffy seemed to recognize Shanks' Haki at the end of Wano-- meaning Haki can have a unique vibe to it?? That allows people to tell whose Haki it is??
Garp's comment is interesting though because like. Was Garp unsurprised because he himself has Conqueror's? Or was it because Ace had also Conqueror's?? Does Dragon have Conqueror's??? Or because all of them have Conqueror's????? We don't know as of yet, point is, we don't even know if Dragon has Conqueror's. Like if Garp has it and Luffy has it then sure, you could assume Dragon also has Conqueror's, but to be fair, for all we know the Conqueror's could've skipped a generation and Dragon might NOT have it. As I mentioned, we don't actually know if you can inherit Conqueror's at all, like I'm sure having family members with it might make it more likely for you to get it too (epigenetics and all) but it might not be a quarantee, just an increased chance?? And it might be worth considdering that... what if Luffy didn't inherit Conqueror's from the Monkey family at all, but from Crocodile? Because there is an argument to be made for Croc having Conqueror's mayhaps (speculation starts right before the manga pages)
Regardless of who has Conqueror's and who doesn't, if a person's Overall Haki Vibes can be inherited from their parents, shouldn't Luffy's Haki be a mixture of both Dragon AND Crocodile's Haki, together?
Point being; if Luffy inherited his Conqueror's Haki Vibes from Dragon and Dragon alone (and if the Dragodile Divorce was (accidentally) violent), then yeah, experiencing That Haki Blast in Marineford could've been quite emotionally painful for Crocodile. Very much a Blast from The Past that would confirm the twerp was Dragon's kid. And that's just some great angst right there. (You know, on top of the pre-existing angst of "what do you mean the idiot I stabbed is my child") But. If Luffy's Haki Vibes came from Crocodile (either partially or fully)... Wouldn't that be kind of... nice? Precious? Because who cares if Luffy is Dragon's or not, what really matters is if Luffy is Crocodile's. And while I'm sure there'd be no doubt about it (surely Dragon wouldnt be the type to sleep around etc) in his mind, having that confirmed without a fraction of a doubt could be so important for Crocodile, emotionally speaking. Because that changes everything.
Regardless, Luffy's Haki Blast does seem to be The Thing that caused Crocodile to spring into action and actively help Luffy (buying some extra time for Ace aside) by defending him from Mihawk. And indeed, no average rookie pirate would just HAVE Conqueror's like that. Luffy displaying his would make him having some insane heritage far more plausible and not just some mistake on Sengoku's part. And yeah. That would confirm that the idiot in flipflops Crocodile stabbed through the gut and left bleeding in the desert, mummified and poisoned was in fact his own son. Really does explain why he's in such a sour mood when defending Luffy from Mihawk, doesn't it.

easy explaination of why most if not all the characters have ended up flanderized in FEH: it started as a gacha game for FE fans and now is a FE game for gacha fans. That's why Alphonse won over Sigurd or why Gullveig won last year's cyl with only 2 lines of dialogue too.
This is why I don't want the jugdral remakes to happen, bc look at engage, using FEH's mechanic and FEH using its ring mechanic in order to sell more lyn, camilla and marth alts. I don't want jugdral to end up with another silly gimmick that isn't necessary on the game or the story but can be sold as another gatcha powercreep thingy. As long as FEH is on service, the main franchise is going to be directyl affected by it.
2 lines of dialogue? You're charitable anon!
But... yeah, with time, FEH became its own thing and is apparently even considered a main FE Title given how Vero was added, albeit through a DLC, to Engage and I mean -
If Vero's writing is supposed to represent FEH, I have to inform you I found my new least liked FE game lol - which brings the main question : what is an FE game?
TBH, to me, FEH OCs are barely characters (Vero needed heavy retcons and ignoring elephants in the room which were there since book 1 to become remotely close to one) which makes me completely baffled at how they can even be "picked" for events like CYL, but if we are talking about popularity contests, then people will vote for their faves... aka the most recent characters they like or have seen - sure it doesn't help that Siggy'n'Leif are from jp only games, but CYL1 saw Roy being picked, even when his Smash Bros popularity dwindled. Can you imagine, in 2024 if Roy wasn't picked for CYL1, him competing with the non-entity that is Alfonse as "the most beloved FE characters voted in by the fans?".
I mean, I can get liking OCs in gacha/crossover games (I'm not pointing at someone in particular about Crestoria lol even if i prefered kanana to vicious) but I can bet you 2 kebabs that if a Tales gacha organised the equivalent of CYL, Leon and Yuri would be picked before any Male OC, and I'd bet 1 kebab about Alicia or even Milla being added before the Kanonos.
In FEH, Book 2 Vero (or was it 3?) was picked over... Elincia. Recency bias is a thing but... yep, it has been a long time now since FEH stopped being a gacha game for fans of FE, but became its own thing with sometimes FE characters being referenced.
I agree with your last remark though, as long as FEH exists, evil will - I mean, as long as FEH exists, it will have some sort of influence in the main games - even if I reiterate, FE15 managed to dodge its influence, only to fall in some other pitfalls.
Jugdral remakes can play like SoV, "additional" characters will be in a DLC and not have any relevance to the story, I mean, even if you can roll for Sharena on a NG+, she might not even have one line.
But, tbh, it's not the gacha aspects that worry me the most about Jugdral remakes, it's the state of the franchise/fandom post FE15 and especially post FE16, but I'll make a separate post about it.

ok at the point now where looking at an image of dennis makes me want to smash my head through a wall
#ada speaks#idk how ppl exist in this fandom who don't feel bad for him tbh#which is the last thing den wants bc being perceived as weak and pitiable is devastating to him but#chasing this mfer down to give him a hug#he is so. fucked up. he has been fucked up by every adult in his life.#i think the fandom perceives him as this spoiled rich kid who had it better than most of the gang but the reality is#he was failed just like the rest of them and it's almost worse because he doesn't – and almost CAN'T – recognize this#letting the protective ego-boosting and boasting drop leads to him having to confront SO much baggage and i don't think he is mentally able#i think he DOES know deep down that everything is a lie and he has been hurt because we see that self awareness in ptsdee and tends bar#but his relationship with everyone in the gang is so strained that i don't think he would be able to have a moment like charlie did in s15#even in tends bar there's a moment where they all recognize something is going on with him but immediately place him at the center#because he's the problem with him. anything done to him is his fault. it's not only something he reinforces. the gang does too#this must be because *dennis* has no feelings and he hates valentines day because everyone else is unlike him which makes *him* mad#the entire gang has an issue placing blame on themselves but to not even be able to conceive of dennis being hurt by them is. telling#because he's inhuman to them. it's how he's propped himself up and yet simultaneously hopes that they will see through that act#the way he reworks things in his mind so that everything is a consequence of his grand plan#means that he is always at fault regardless of whether he brushes the blame off#so he is not a *victim* of anyone else. because this was all under his control. he wasn't raped because he was initiating it.#klinsky was His Conquest. he was fourteen and she was in her fifties but he forced himself on her so that makes it His Fault.#it was a two way road. he's fourteen. and he 'entered' her. he's fourteen. but she was uncomfortable with his advances. but he was fourteen#cw csa mention

I cannot believe I have to ask this of people (nobody here that I know of, otherwise you'd be contacted personally, but I've seen enough). Please don't trivialize this war by bringing fandom attitudes into them.
This is serious. I can speak for the Jewish Israeli side of things, that the foundations of everything everyone here ever believed are being tested in a degree unseen in our country's entire existence. I cannot tell you what I believe and what I don't anymore - this is existential to degrees I cannot compare to any event other than 9/11 and many of you are too young to remember that. Life as we knew it doesn't exist anymore. I will not pretend to speak for the Palestinian people because I'm not Palestinian, but I know them to be facing horrors beyond most people's understanding, particularly in Gaza.
This is no joke, and no talking point. This is an ongoing conflict that radically challenges the status quo for every involved side; too many of the chips have yet to fall, and personally I don't believe anything I'm told beyond the barest irrefutable facts. Misinformation and propaganda are rampant on both sides, and that's an insult to the truth and each and every victim. It gets worse when people with zero stakes in the matter get involved and turn our suffering into yet another point of debate to virtue-signal and boost their ego and pretend they're better than the person they're talking to.
I've had to see people with my own two eyes treat this as a shipping war or as another partisan issue to fight with your uncle over on Christmas dinner. Attempts to "pick" aside or to "help me convince [relative]" or "how can I rebuke [point]?", basically twisting reality into knots to make it fit your Western little heads.
Major yikes. It's bizarre and invasive and borderline appropriative, to think of our issues on your terms, and try to shape cherry-pick these narratives to suit your set of morals. These are Middle Eastern peoples (check Israeli demographics and my Ashkie DNA if you think I'm pulling that out of my ass) with our own cultures and sets of beliefs, and a conflict with an incredibly unique history and reason to be.
(For example, something I wish people understood is how diametrically opposed the notions of pikuach nefesh and jihad are. Pikuach Nefesh is Judaism's most important tenet - human life comes before everything and anything and it is our duty to do whatever it takes to save a life. Jihad is, as explained to me by several Muslim people, is a pillar of Islam and encompasses the idea of martyrdom, or basically that there are things worth dying for, and things one must die for. These principles factor on how both sides deal with warfare and it's a fascinating thing to talk about - but you'd never know if you only care about this war to boost your ego).
So what I'm about to say below goes tenfold if you're from the wealthy Anglosphere or the seat of a former European empire, because the state of the Middle East is your leadership's fault and you, yes you, have been doing absolutely nothing to hold your elected officials accountable. You also benefit directly from the instability in the region your countries caused (by keeping us powerless, yours are more powerful) and you have the privilege to sleep safe and sound and know war never will come to you. So here it goes:
Bringing selfish and trivial attitudes into a very real issue that affects real people that isn't you is a complete moral wrong. If you don't have a direct stake in the issue (ie. Israeli, Palestinian, or descendent of either) and have the absolute privilege of not having experienced war yourself (ie. lived in an active war zone for real personally in unequivocal terms) please take several steps back and a goddamn seat. This is not about you, your need to virtue-signal, and your feelings.

Okay so here's the take.
I don't trust people who hate kids, but I also don't trust people who refuse to believe that you can be bad with kids or incompatible with parents.
I don't trust people who hate kids, but I understand that on a root societal level people don't properly respect childcare as anything that can be difficult or kids as something you're allowed to not want to have or spend time with.
I don't trust people who hate kids, but I have patience and forgiveness for people who come to the point of saying they hate kids because they're not allowed to say "kids are fine, but not for me" because unless they turn this answer uglier and uglier people will keep trying to talk them out of it because having children is treated much like romance- nobody is allowed to think "that hard" about it or practice it in any sort of """aberrant""" manner but also everyone has to always do it because otherwise we'd have to independently negotiate our relationship with it and that's scary, so it gets turned into a norm that its most enthusiastic defenders all joke about hating anyway.
Kids cannot help but need you. They are not monsters. They're just humans at their most vulnerable. I think everybody should work to gain the skills to make cohabitation with children as mutually painless as possible. That's the baseline I think you can reasonably require as other people. Kids are in society, that's where they should be, and if you are driven to fury by this notion you may be exhibiting an intolerance of vulnerability that probably bleeds over into other areas of your life, maybe examine that.
Nobody is ever obligated to have kids, nobody is ever obligated to like being around kids, nobody is ever obligated to want kids. If someone doesn't think they'd be a good parent it is not your job to talk over this.
Producing a child isn't a badge that you're a real grown-up. (also, holy hell, fathers should have a meaningful stake in their kids' lives, but that's a different issue)
Nobody should have kids unless they earnestly and wholeheartedly commit to it and nobody should take it upon themselves to get on their friends', neighbors', relatives', acquaintances' case about So When Are You Gonna Change Your Mind And Have Kids
but don't take that out on the kids themselves, guys? Kids live in the same reality as adults but they have less experience, less control over where they're going or what they experience, and less ability to separate what's happening right now from what is true of all reality forever. This can be super frustrating to deal with from the outside but I guarantee it is worse from the inside.
