I watched Scott’s Real Life video first because he and Joel are the main two I watch, which is ironic because of their ongoing in-game feud and very different personalities, video styles, general vibes, etc., but I digress.

My first thought when I saw the title was “Yay, another life series!” My second thought, upon seeing Joel standing in the circle, was “Oh my gosh, Joel, three SMPs at the same time? Why does he do this to himself?” Then, after watching for a bit, I was like, “Okay, never mind, this an April Fools video, still fun though.” And then I proceeded to enjoy the silliness and binge everybody else’s videos.

Let me tell you, watching Martyn’s video before Scar’s and hearing Scar yell that he’d fallen out of his wheelchair, I was really worried, and I immediately searched for Scar’s video to make sure he was okay. I’m glad he’s alright, I bet that was scary.

On another note, do y’all consider Cleo’s win cannon? Cause I do! Go Cleo, she deserved this.

I’m kinda sad it wasn’t Joel or Jimmy though, I got really excited when I realized how well Jimmy was doing. He got, what, 7th place? The canary curse has officially been broken!

This post has gotten way longer than I intended. Oh well.

Art piece that came to me in a dream

Grian with the imagery of being forced to the ground his arms and wings in chains

each chain being held by the different people he's loved and hurt

Scars chain is old and worn down, but in the crack are lilacs and poppies pushed in between, trying to mend to chain or break it more who knows, the handle itself is gripped tight, and Scars knuckles are scraped and bruised, but still he holds tight, the chain itself hangs loose, but its cutting into scar, hurting him, its at Grians neck, never to forget what he's done

Mumbos chain is new and shines brightly it holds grians wings down. Mumbo's back is turned away, and his grip on the chain is slipping. Mumbo's hands are clean. Grians wings are torn and frayed feathers falling away

BigB’s chain is one of gold, different from the others, one forged on promises and gifts one formed not on trust or love but on mutual deceit. BigB holds the handle of the chain in the air. It covers Grian's mouth, punishment for the lies he's told

Jimmy and Joel share one chain, which wraps around Grian's legs, not tightly they loosely lay there. They are not new, but they are not damaged Jimmy and Joel's hands hold each other as well the chain is wrapped around their hands as well with no handle to hold

and finally Cleo and Etho hold separate chains, holding his arms tight, the chains link to each other but are still wholly different, a mother and a father protecting their son, Cleo and Etho are linked by a chain too, it feels more light and airy than the rest, but the chain is still there. And Grian is not free

“Scar, you chose the wrong team,” Scott called, holding his shield up. “Scar, why did you team with Pearl?”

“It’s just who was- who I was with at that minute!” he protested, the two of them circling each other slowly.

“Why would you team with the people after everything I did for you?” Scott asked, looking betrayed.

“Oh, inventory’s full — got it!”

“No, dude, no—”

Desperate laughter bubbled up in Scar’s throat as he swung his sword again.

“You turned on me, after all we’ve been through—”

Scar spluttered, blocking an arrow as he fumbled to turn the narrative around.

Not again, I’m not a traitor, I’m not—

“I- it was a- you, you’re the one who turned on me!” he yelled. “I was just chillin’ with the boys!”

“No I wasn’t,” Scott threw back, turning away.

“Hey, Pearl?” he asked desperately, still clutching at his shield to look for his remaining ally.

“Why’re you running, mate?” Pearl shouted, chasing after Scott. She slowed as Scar ran up.

“Where’d he go?”

“How are you doing, Scar?” she asked, concerned. “How’s your heart situation?”

He glanced down at his wrist — seventeen. “Really bad. But it’s… but I’m hanging in there. Let’s get — we’ve gotta get Scott.

“Really bad?”

“We’ve gotta get Scott, Pearl.”

She sighed, catching up with him. “Look, Scar, at the end of the day — I want you to kill me, you get an extra ten hearts, right?”

“Betrayer!” Grian yelled from behind him — when did he get back?? “Betrayer!”

“I’m not gonna kill you, Pearl. I’ve wronged you too many times this season!”

“Traitor! Traitor Scar!” Grian’s eyes were wild, sword glittering as he raised it up again.

Stuck at a red light and I could count 16 cranes all making new condos and apartments. Maybe a few of them are offices but they looked like apartments.

Filled me with a new sense of dread

I’ve been here my whole life and it has never been this horrible here. traffic. #there was definitely more than 16 that’s just what I was able to see #Yes just keep building luxury apartments and making an already horribly planned out and overcrowded city even more crowded 👍 #if this shit was actually planned out it wouldn’t be so bad #but it was not. intended. to have this many people. #what I want to know is who the fuck is actually living in them #yeah we got a lot of people from high wage states working remotely here in the past 3 years #but surely it can’t be THAT MANY????? #like. this is a city with no industry outside of money laundering and being a servant to rich ppl and tourists #wages are in the dirt here. even with a degree most jobs will refuse to pay a living wage #you will make more in pretty much any other state fl wages are abysmal #who is renting these #edit: I should mention that building more housing is not a bad thing it’s just that. these aren’t for normal people. these are for the rich #the regular ppl are getting absolutely eaten alive here. I would know I’m one of them. #and the roads just can’t support this many people. my commute has gotten 10-15 mins longer #just this year. distance hasn’t changed. there’s just that many more cars

Trope life: everyone is given a randomly chosen character trope from tvtropes and failure to conform results in death

They get a new trope when they die or their trope becomes obsolete (ex: the archnemesis' nemesis dies)

Everyone can act as destructively as their trope allows

the most destructive tropes are reserved for the red lives, though greens and yellows can also get evil tropes

If a red gets a trope that has a "built in endgame" that isnt kill everyone (ex: conquer and rule the world) then that can be used as an alternative wincon, which means certain tropes can also win together

I haven't visited tvtropes in a while... I imagine there would be some interesting implications there

So, I have an idea for the next instalment of the 'Life Series'

What if the number of lives was dependent on what class you were given. Kinda like DnD so it impacts how you play the game.

Wizards - 3 lives: can use all tools but only up to gold (no diamonds as that’s use for enchanting) they’re also the only ones able to use and enchanting table.

Builders - 2 lives: can only use axe, pickaxe, shovel and hoe but no sword or shield. Can wear up to diamond but can’t wield netherite tools.

Fighters - 1 life: can only use a sword, axe and shield but not a shovel or hoe can wear up to netherite and wear netherite tools. Could potentially have the ability to toggle a strength affect when in battle.

The more lives you have the less protected you are. That was the original vibe. So as you come closer to death the more powerful you become. 

But by adding the classes like dnd it can make the dynamics more interesting. They’re assigned the same way the lives were in Last Life: Season 2, they’re randomised so it can be really chaotic. It also stops each person from choosing the class they want just because they're good at it, and gets them out of their comfort zone.

There are some rules that I want to stress though so that the game can be somewhat balanced.

There’s only one or two Wizards, so that way the server can split into two factions for the drama. It's kinda like dodgeball where you have to kill the king to get the whole team out. They’re the strategist, getting the best enchantments and crafting the potions for pranks and battle. 

The rest of the server is split between Fighters and Builders. 

The Fighters have the best gear and more fighting stamina. So, you have to be strategic as they only have one life so battles have to be planned out and it also gives each side a target.

Builders would have access to Shulkers and Red Stone for building a fort for each side. This way they can also be in charge of pranks. they can also fight as builders have access to axe's but it only gives half the damage it normally would ( 2 hearts instead of the 4 they normally do)

this ain't a new idea in the fandom but im veeeery interested in a fanfic where our grian meets grumbot prime's grian via him coming out of the rift. especially with the new stuff we know--grumbot prime is from a timeline where mumbo won, but doesn't appear to be on good terms with his grian. we can theorize about what happened. but the other grian would be like...not an evil!grian, just worse. made worse decisions. treated grumbot worse. perhaps treated his friends worse. just someone who makes our grian suddenly very, very aware of his own flaws....

#i love all grians as a character but i am specifically interested in him flawed character #especially. especially with traffic series taken into account. grians like....hes not bad but he isnt always GOOD #AND THATS FASCINATING!!! #i like this plotline because ah. i like the idea of him facing these consequences of his own decisions
