i don’t remember if ive said it before or if it’s deep in my drafts — i think i did say it already but i’ll say it again — but lol im so tired of seeing blonde white martin with a fucking... upturned snub nose and blue eyes like no offense to people who draw him like that i love a lot of their art im just. tired of that depiction. and it’s not like it’s whitewashing (and... “western washing”) canon bc he doesn’t have a description (i mean people who draw skinny martin is a whole different thing) but. hrrng.

it’s just like azcr*w all over again with the monster/demon trying to be good and human drawn as brown or at least noticeably darker, and the Good Soft Angel Savior Tea And Love Sweater Boy all blonde and blue eyed and small-nosed and very white

which also goes into a bunch of fandom mischaracterization of both of them but which i’ve seen less with martin (or maybe i’m just being better about who i’m following for this hyperfixation so i’ve more successfully avoided those parts of the fandom this time) but it’s. there. and even when the characterization isn’t that extreme it’s like. hmm but why draw them like that. you’re not drawing in a vacuum. what made you associate those appearances with those respective characters. why did you choose to draw each of them like that. why.
