I Need You

Prompt: Beverly Sherman is a young girl who had a military family that was forced to move all over the country. When her Father is sent to Germany for work, her and her family follows along. There she meets Elvis Presley who takes a liking to her. From there the rest is history.

A/N: Chapter 2!!! I wanted to get at least two parts out on the same day since I have most of this fic written. I hope you guys enjoy it!  Also forgive any errors, it's late :)

Chapter 2: All Shook Up 

I feel every single muscle in my body tense up. All the girls in school would gossip about him. Who’s father allegedly worked on base with him and who had caught a glimpse of him leaving the base. If he was dating anyone or who’s mother let them stand outside of his home to get an autograph. Here he was. Looking straight up at me. I could hardly believe it. 

“Hello Miss Sherman, It’s a pleasure to meet you.” I took his hand in mine that he had extended out to me, shaking it. 

“The pleasures all mine Mr. Presley.” I tried to act normal even though I felt like a glowing red target was on my back as my cheeks heated up. 

I was a fan of his, that’s for sure. He was just as handsome as his pictures and the films I had seen him in. I had a few of his records in my collection back home. 

“Please, call me Elvis.” He smiled at me. That sent butterflies through my stomach and straight to my heart. I began to think of all the girls from school who would kill to be in my shoes. They would never believe a word I said if I ever told them I met the biggest idol in our generation. “Take a seat Miss, get comfortable.” He scooted over to make room for me to take a seat next to him. 

I nervously sat and felt my hands become sweaty. I looked at Judy with my eyes wide as she took a seat next to one of the other men dressed in uniform. 

“How do you like Germany, Miss Beverly?” Elvis looked my way with sincerity in his eyes. His gaze was so strong it felt like I would crumble if I looked into his eyes long enough. 

“Oh it,” I clear my throat to make room for my small voice to escape “it’s nice here. A little different than back home that’s for sure. It’s really nothing to complain about.” He looked at me with a smile as he rested his hand on his face, looking at me. “How do you like it Mr.- I’m sorry, Elvis?” 

“Oh it’s fine here, little chilly, especially right now but I agree it is nice here. I do miss home quite a bit though.” 

I nodded at his statement. I couldn’t agree more. Although I never truly had a proper hometown, I did miss being back in the states. Things were just different here and anywhere in the U.S. felt like a real home to me. 

“ Oh I bet, especially for you, you’re away from work, that must be no good.” I wondered if he missed working like recording albums or even making more movies. 

“I do miss it a lot. But ‘s alright ‘specially since I have a few friends around me and I live off base. I have the freedom to do more of what I want to when I get off of work at the base.” 

“That must be nice, living off base and all. I live off base too and it’s interesting to see the town more. How far off the base are you?” My cheeks instantly heat up as I ask where he lived. Nice one Bev, way to not sound like a creep. 

“Oh not too far, ‘bout 15 minutes or so.” He replied as if it was nothing to him. I silently pat myself on the back for making it through without sounding like a crazed fan. “How about you come visit me sometime at my home? It’s always nice having more people around, especially having a pretty girl like you around, Miss Beverly.” 

I couldn’t believe it! Elvis Presley was inviting me over to his house to hang out with him. 

Someone needs to pinch me. This can’t be real. 

Blushing, I look at him. “You mean it? I would love to visit sometime!” 

“Say how old are ya anyway Miss? That is if you don’t mind my asking.” 

I looked to the floor as he gave me a curious smirk. Gulping, I look back up at him. 

“Uh, 14 but I turn 15 in April.” 

A hearty laugh escaped his mouth. Oh god. This is the moment that I got rejected from Elvis Presley. I brace myself for what he says next. Here goes nothing. 

Elvis turns to the man that is talking to Judy. “Ya hearing this Jerry?! We got a couple of babies in here!” 

I glanced at Judy giving her a sorrowful look that said ‘I’m sorry, please don’t kill me even though I ruined our chances with handsome soldiers.’ 

“These girls are barely even 15!” Elvis laughed again and my face grew even more red. Judy also began to turn red. I was plotting our escape the more the two men began to laugh. Elvis nudged my arm as his laughs died down. “Don’t worry darlin, just pullin’ your leg a little, don’t bother me none.” I smiled back confused and unsure what to say. 

After our little incident, the rest of the night was like something you would dream about. Elvis and I spent the rest of the night talking. We talked about everything. I told him about the constant travel that my family had been through due to my father and he asked how school was and my favorite subjects. He told me stories of being on a movie set and the crazy things he’s seen. It felt as if we were the only two in the whole room. 

It wasn’t until I heard Judy call out my name that we finally broke free from each other's gazes.

“Beverly, your mother is looking for you!”

Turning to Elvis, I stood up from my seat. “I guess that’s my cue.” 

He followed my actions standing with me. “ I guess so, it was very nice talking to you Beverly. I would really like to see you again sometime.” 

I want more than anything to have more time with him. The connection between us was instant. It was intoxicating talking to him and being in his presence. 

“ I would love that.” 

“Here’s my number” he picked up a notepad from the coffee table in front of us and scribbled on it “ call that number when you’re available. I can even arrange for one of my friends to come pick you up if you need.” 

I nod agreeing, more than excited to spend time with him. Then it hits me. 

“Oh well I just remembered I would need to ask my parents for permission.” 

My parents were pretty strict as most military parents were. I would definitely need their approval before going over to the home of a man practically 10 years older than I am. I could barely go over to a boy my ages home. 

“Of course darlin.” My heart flutters at the nickname he gives me. “I’m looking forward to seeing you again.” He grabs my hand and kisses it smiling at me. 

My face heats up and I laugh at the gesture. I shove the paper he handed me in my hand as I hear my name get called again. 

“I have to go, but I’ll see you soon!” I turn to see Judy waiting for me. He smiles as I walk away with her. 

“You are the luckiest girl on this entire continent!” She squeals, grabbing my hand. 

“I guess I am.” I chuckle. I laugh at Judy’s comical excitement, afraid that Elvis’ crew can see us fangirling over him. I walk away trying to be as calm and collected as I physically can. 

I see my family at the front of the house pulling their coats out of the closet close to the door. I grab mine from my father’s hands. My mother turns to see me. 

“Where have you been! I didn’t think you’d be gone the entire party. Did you have fun at least?” 

The look on her face is one of curiosity. I was never one to really leave my parents or Judy’s side at these parties. “I noticed you weren’t with Judy, I just got worried for a moment. She said you made a few friends, I’m happy for you!” 

I nod as my mother rambles. The hosts come to greet us at the door to wish us a safe journey home. My father is laughing with Officer Jackson about some faux paux a younger Officer had made while they were playing their card game. I turned back to what was left of the party. A pair of blue eyes pierced through me. 

He was leaning against the door frame to the family room, staring at me like I was the prettiest thing he had ever laid his two eyes on. I blushed and heard my mom call my name. He grinned at me as I turned to walk away. 

The entire car ride home I looked out the window replaying our entire conversation. As I lay in bed trying to sleep, my mind was filled with thoughts of the fantasy I would have of my future. This time the soldier walking through the door to my family looked very similar to Elvis.

Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) CEO Elon Musk has said that the electric car manufacturer’s long-waited trucking vehicles will commence as early as this year through into 2023. Musk indicated in a tweet that deliveries for the company’s 500-mile range semi-truck will commence this year, five years after its unveiling. Tesla to introduce Cybertruck and 500-mile range semi-truck in 2023 The CEO earlier stated that the vehicle and Tesla's pickup truck, the Cybertruck, would hit the road in 2023. According to Musk, the anticipated shipping date for the Cybertruck is still 2023. Musk's confirmation on the plans was in response to a tweet Musk had made linking the company's Master Plan, Part Dueux, which was a report published in 2016 that, among other things, indicated that a passenger bus and electric semi-truck were being built by the electric carmaker. Despite numerous production setbacks over the past three years, Tesla introduced the Cybertruck in 2019. With the company's new production facility in Austin, Texas, in which the Cybertruck the company will build, officially opened, that is expected to ramp up. The launch date has been postponed at least three times over the previous three years as legacy OEMs such as Paccar, Volvo, Mack, and Freightliner provide clients with various electric trucks. However, none have the 500-mile range anticipated by Tesla and Musk. BEV newcomer Nikola has also produced and shipped more than 50 vehicles; by year's end, it hopes to have 500 on the market. Prompt: Beverly Sherman is a young girl who had a military family that was forced to move all over the country. When her Father is sent to Germany for work, her and her family follows along. There she meets Elvis Presley who takes a liking to her. From there the rest is history. 

TW: Age gap relations between minor and adult. Angst. 

A/N: Hey y’all. As some have seen in my last post I wanted to bring attention to the age gap relationship. As this is the main factor for the angst between the two main characters, I have said that this is based off of Priscilla’s life story. I understand the uncomfy-ness of it all but I can assure everyone it moves on quickly from the relationship to a jump in time when she is older. Unfortunately, my own family has a similar age gap from the same period so this whole age gap doesn’t shock me as much since my grandma had my dad when she was 17. Hope everyone understands the miscommunication on my part. 

Chapter 3: Little Sister 

“But dad please!” 

“Beverly, no! Your mother and I have made it very clear to you. What does a grown man want to do with a 14 year old girl anyway!” 

I had asked my parents permission to go see Elvis again the next day. 

Clearly, it wasn’t going well. 

I broke the ice when my mother was recapping the night before. 

“Debbie just made such a good casserole! Remind me the next time we’re over to ask for her recipe! Bev sweetie, who was it that you were with last night? You seemed to have had a good time.” Really my mother had asked, and I was just telling the truth. 

My parents hadn’t formally banned us from supporting Elvis like many of my friends' parents did back in Texas. It was in Austin that he burst onto our radars. Like everyone else, me and all my friends listened to his records and swooned at his dreamy voice. That was until, he made controversy for shaking his hips and having outrageous hair on live television. 

Once we moved to Germany, Elvis was the talk of the town. My parents found him a little more respectable after he too came to Germany. They saw him as fulfilling his patriotic duty. Still, this wasn’t to say they were his biggest fan. Definitely at this moment, they were Anti-Elvis. 

“Well we just talk daddy! I’m lonely! He’s lonely! It really is nothing more than that. I just need a friend and we both understand each other! You guys know how I’ve struggled to keep friendships since moving, well, my whole life really and now you’re holding me back from making any friends at all!” 

“Honey, you only met him once, how do you know his intentions at all? Logistically this seems a little strange.” My mother said, looking at me as if I had ten heads. 

“Look,” my father sighs “we just don’t want you getting hurt. You’ve been doing so well in school recently, I just don’t want you throwing that all away for a boy you just met, let alone a famous one. Who knows what you’re getting into, there could be so much that goes wrong.” 

I understand where they are coming from, I really do. But at this point I made such a good connection with Elvis, I really want to see him again. It was innocent. Plus, I wish they could see my side. It would be any girl's dream to go to Elvis’ house and spend even an hour with him. 

My father sighed once again, taking a sip of his cocktail he would make himself after work. 

“Alright, you can go” my ears perked up “under one condition.” I’ll take anything at this point to go see him, I don’t care about any condition. “You complete your schoolwork for the day and you come home no later than 10 P.M.” 

I squealed in delight and shot up out of my seat. I hugged my parents. “I won’t let you guys down, I promise!

Shortly after, my parents went to bed. I snuck into the kitchen and grabbed the paper that Elvis had given me with his number written down on it. I pick up the phone dialing and hear the tone ring. 

“Hello?” A voice I don’t recognize says on the other side of the phone. 

“Um, hi? This is Beverly Sherman. Elvis gave me this number last night.” 

“Oh, Just give me one moment.” The voice then became slightly muffled. “E, the girl from last night is on the line waiting for you!” 

My heart skipped a beat. The thought of Elvis coming to the phone and possibly even talking about me to his friends. 

“Beverly?” His warm drawl said across the telephone. 

“Hi Elvis.” 

“Hi.” He said back as a chuckle came following. “I’m happy you called me. I’ve been thinking about you all day today.” I felt my heart skip a beat. He was thinking of me? This has to be a dream. I half wanted to wake my mother and ask her to pinch me. 

“Me too Elvis, I talked to my parents today. They said yes! I can see you.”

“That’s great darlin’! When is that going to be? I can’t wait to see your pretty little face again. I told ya I can’t stop thinking about you.” 

Every word he said had my stomach twisting into a thousand butterflies. I wrapped the telephone line around my fingers and told him about the conditions my parents gave for me to see him. Talking to him just was so easy. It felt as though we had known each other for years. 

“Well I’m just glad they said yes. I can’t wait to see you. It’s getting late though little one, I wouldn’t want you getting in trouble for staying up too late.” 

I glanced at the clock, noticing the time. How could an entire hour have gone by? Guess that shows how talking just comes easy between the two of us. 

“You’re right. I’ll see you tomorrow then, right?” 

“Of course darlin’, I can’t wait.”

We said our goodbyes and I went into my room. How am I going to sleep tonight? I’m just too excited for what tomorrow brings. 

At Elvis’ house only about 10 minutes away from the young girls, he smiled as he put the phone down. Taking a seat next to his father on the couch of their German home. 

“Are you sure about all of this Elvis? You know how this looks right? Especially if it gets out to any of the press.” His father warned him. Elvis just nodded. He knew what he was doing was not one that was of the best taste, especially since he was under the public’s watchful eye. 

“I know daddy, I don’t know, she’s a nice girl is all and well, it’s refreshing talking to her.” 

Vernon nodded, unsure of what to say. 

“Just… be careful is all I have to say. You have a lot on your shoulders. You don’t need something like this to ruin your career.” 

Elvis was left sat on the couch where he had started to think about if he was doing something he shouldn’t have.

1990 - Beverly Hills, 90210 - 1x02 - The Green Room

Brandon (Jason Priestley) meets and befriends surfer Dylan McKay (Luke Perry), a mysterious loner who lives in a fancy hotel suite and hangs out at the beach with his surfer friends that include teenage alcoholic Betty (Heather McAdam). As they continue to spend time together, Brandon learns that Dylan's bad-boy act masks a hidden life that few people ever see.

Meanwhile, Brenda (Shannen Doherty) feels she's living in poverty when she gets to know Kelly (Jennie Garth), and her insecure friend Donna Martin (Tori Spelling). The beach is the place to be at for the West Bev students and also where Brenda sees Kelly's true colors.
