the shot of nate being stopped in his tracks seeing ted and trent talk is making me mental because we as an audience know that nate leaked ted's mental health to trent. nate wanted to be an anonymous source so he probably didn't piece together that ted knows what he did because ted hasn't really confronted nate about it and not many people know the full story of what went down so it hasn't spread around (the team just now know about the sign being torn in half). nate couldn't make amends for his accidental slight in not shaking ted's hand because he couldn't face the deeper hurt he has caused to the man he looked up to, who was one of the first to see his potential

My hot take is I don't think Essek realized he had any kind of attraction Caleb until the Traveller Con arc, and even then I don't think he necessarily would have thought of it as romantic. I think this because Essek hanging around the ship in episodes 98-99 does not react in any specific way with Caleb, but by the time we see him again at the outpost he can't make eye contact with Caleb.

I think part of his processing between those times was developing a sense of shame and a desire to be better-- other people have talked about how much Essek shifted between those two appearances-- and part of those realizations was also the realization that Caleb did something remarkable in reaching out to him that day. Remarkable in a way that enhances the shame, hence no eye contact next time they meet, but also made him realize that Caleb was special to him.

being okay with tedtrent going canon without an onscreen kiss. either it is an ambiguous open ending type thing where they allude to these two starting something new, OR it is not that ambiguous at all and they confess to each other how they feel. either would work for me because sometimes a story doesn't require explicit physical depiction of a romance in order to convey that the romance is there. also a bisexual character is still bisexual even if there isn't onscreen "proof" of them swinging both ways

really needing wanting an onscreen tedtrent kiss also implied sex scene because it would be a huge release of whatever homoerotic tension is going on between them. also ted has only ever kissed sassy onscreen & i think the juxtaposition of a passionless kiss with someone who doesn't view him romantically vs a passionate kiss with someone who does would go stupid, go crazy. trent has expressed wanting to kiss his fella after a won match, too, and i think he should get the chance to have his Big Gay Smooch. it would also be fun to watch conservatives have a meltdown that their favorite fictional coach is bisexual in a way they cannot erase or dismiss. out and proud baybee. moreover, in a show about romcommunism, the main lead should get an iconic romcom kiss
