My sibling has questions on the ethical implications of romantically/sexually pursuing a relationship with Astarion from BG3. They have asked me to relay this question:

What are the ethics of pursuing astarion romantically given he says at some point that he doesnt feel comfortable being viewed sexually—and although that doesnt exclude romantically it’s been proven that you get higher approval ratings from him by being his friend than his lover, so it’s like.

Does he actually consent to a romantic relationship or is he doing so because he feels like that’s the only way he can be useful/loved by Tav?

And in addition, his confession scenes seem like he does want a relationship? But then does that mean the line of “you need a friend, not a lover” means Tav isn’t interested in a relationship without sex? Or?
