Title: Two Goats for Ransom
Fandom: Mass Effect Andromeda
Warnings: crack.  Absolutely crack. All @radio-chatter‘s fault for making me find daily jay hernandez pictures for her. I would never have followed him on instagram otherwise.
Scott is glaring balefully at Reyes, still rubbing his wrists to get feeling back into them from being restrained.  “Is two goats all I’m worth to you?” He mutters pettily.
Reyes throws an exasperated look over his shoulder at Scott while still guiding the shuttle to cruising altitude. “Do you have any idea how expensive it is to get goats? I just set our breeding program back years. You are very expensive my vida let me assure you.”
Thinking about how this is probably accurate, Scott is somewhat mollified.

So from a fic I’ll never write…. Inspired by the above song which has been stuck in my head for daaaaaays.
From: untitled snippet fic I’ll prolly never write
Fandom: Mass Effect Andromeda
Pairings: Scott’s with Gil…. But the focus is MReyder.
Warnings: Scott has misread things. Jealousy. Are things unrequited?  *whistles innocently* Reyes thinks Scott should dump Gil. Reyes is not nice about Gil. I can’t decide if Reyes looks like Danny pino or Jay Hernandez (damnit @radio-chatter i’m starting to picture Reyes as Jay now too…) using a Danny gif because i can’t find an appropriate Jay one.
Other tags: first rough draft. Snippet. Post game.

Reyes slammed his glass down on the wet bar, scowling and hunching his shoulders as he turned away to present his back to Scott who was sitting on the couch in the back room of Tartarus.  “What do you want me to say Scott?” He almost growled.
Scott looked at him dumbly, aware that Reyes was actually upset.  He hadn’t expected this reaction.  They were friends.  Just friends.  Close friends. Reyes was the person outside of his crew and Gil that he could talk to about anything.  They had the unspoken rule that whatever they told each other in confidence wasn’t used against the other or to get ahead.
He thought Reyes would agree with him that Gil’s jealousy was unwarranted. “I thought…I thought you’d tell me that Gil was seeing things that weren’t there. That he was being ridiculous.”
Reyes chuckle was bitter. Scott had never heard a sound like that coming from Reyes.
When Reyes turned to face him, his eyes seemed to burn into Scott they were so intense and a shiver went down his spine and his skin broke out in goosebumps. Reyes’ grip on the bartop was anchoring otherwise Scott was convinced he’d be stalking towards him. “You want me to say that I don’t… that I don’t want you.”
“I thought…. I thought that’s what you’d say,” Scott’s voice trailed off as his brain processed… Did he?  Did he want Reyes to say…he’d said want. “I want…”
“What do you want Scott?” The question was quiet in the silence of the room. “Do you want me to say that I don’t want you?  That I haven’t wanted you since I first laid eyes on you? That I don’t want to tell that whiney bastard to fuck off because he’s not good enough for you?  That you deserve someone who can match you?  That doesn’t use you as a way of getting status? What do you want me to say, Scott?”
“Reyes… I…” It occurred to Scott that he might have completely missed something. “Gil’s… he’s not…”
“He uses you.  I know he, as he told me, got there first and I was trying to respect your relationship with him but if,” Reyes took a step towards Scott, whole body leaning forward and eyes fastened on his.  So intently focused on Scott. “If you want me to say I don’t want you I don’t think I can do that.”
“You want me?”
There was this high pitched ringing noise that was all he could hear.
He’d always known that Reyes was out of his league.  Sophisticated. Smart. One of the hottest men he’d ever laid eyes in two galaxies. The only reason Reyes had even given him the time of day when they’d first met had been because he was the Pathfinder…. Right?

Storybible Day 2
Tumblr media
Today’s Prompt:
Landscape.
What kind of terrain has your world? What do your characters notice about the world?
Bonus: Come up with a special place.
Kadara is a mountainous world.  The habitable portions have several large mountain ranges that actually from above the atmosphere where there are breaks in the cloud cover you can see almost make a broken spiral shape out from the tightest cluster of ancient alien structures (of which there are only a few on Kadara compared to other planets in Heleus) that you can only see a minuscule portion of where they break through the surface to form broken pyramids.  There is no obvious pattern to these strange structures—they do not correspond to any known angaran constellation. No fractal patterns. Nothing in the databases and no obvious mathematical or even logistical reason.
The other prominent feature that most visitors comment on is both new and old.   Sulfur.  If you drill rock cores it is very obvious that the sulfur and sulfuric acid that is commonly found on the surface is a relatively new phenomenon for the planet.  There are fossil records of older species of organisms from the simple to the complex that have been discovered but many are thought to be extinct.
However, as noted before, Kadara has changed with the resetting of the alien vault structures and the sulfur is receding.  It is estimated that within one standard Kadaran year or less the waters of the mountain lakes will no longer require filtration to be potable in the regions closes to the center of the spiral and Kadara Port.
The mountains around Kadara Port are craggy and new, not yet worn down by weather and wind—of which is suspiciously mild compared to the rest of the planet although scientists have noted drastic changes in the weather patterns with vault activation.
Reyes Vidal, the human smuggler, has claimed a portion in a dead end valley not too far from the port.  This valley is notable for early studies suggesting that the topsoil will be suitable for earth crops including stone fruit trees and other cereal grains. There is also a spring system that causes a natural waterfall at the far end that produces potable water which is collected in a small lake that has been created by a dam over the river that follows along the pass that connects the valley to another which then leads to the main land passage in the Kadaran highlands.
At the far end, near the waterfall, there is a ledge built into the rock with a natural ramp to one side that leads to the valley floor.  This is the place that Reyes intends to build his home with the solid rock face at the back and an entrance to an extensive cave system with access to more water and, if necessary for defense, storage and additional living spaces. There are beautiful views of both sunrise to the east and sunset to the west from this point as well as enough space to land a small transport if needed. The stone is a pleasing tan and grey with streaks of pink and blue quartz that glows warmly in the dying light of day.
It will make a beautiful new home for the new ruler of Kadara.

Also from the random snippet ideas section of my drive…. More snippy Reyes for @radio-chatter
Tumblr media
From untitled snippet
Cora sat down in the extra chair with a thunk as the chair legs jumped against the floor, startling the unidentified man and Scott out of their passionate lip lock.  Sara just stared at the scene, uncertain if she should take the sole unoccupied chair or stay standing in case she needed to escape—Cora’s swearing upon seeing Scott and the man had been impressive from the moment she’d spotted them and dragged Sara over to their table. The studied frown with aggressive crossing of arms across Cora’s chest as she glared without amusement at the two men was just this side of mean and Sara wondered what she’d gotten herself into by coming to the Tavetaan for a “drink”.
“Vidal,” Cora drawled out the name, elongating the vowels. “I thought you and I had negotiated an agreement. Scott is mine when we’re not on Kadara and I let you do whatever it is you want when we’re actually on Kadara.”
The darkly handsome man hadn’t released Scott who had buried his face in the man’s throat and he didn’t appear amused by Cora’s statement given the glower he threw her way. Scott, however,  had turned just enough to glare back at Cora before his gaze flickered to the man—Vidal—and softened slightly but still contained a lot of anger. “Agreement?  You actually negotiated an agreement?” He asked, a dangerous edge seeping into her brother’s voice that raised the hairs on Sara’s neck.  Scottie was pissed.
Craning his neck to meet Scott’s gaze, the man seemed nonplused by Scott’s question and the slight upwards tick of one brow and slight pout of the lips made Scott’s back visibly relax as his weight was supported by the arms wrapped around her brother’s waist. When the man spoke, his voice was velvety with an accent that purred as he addressed her brother. “Agreement implies I actually agreed,” he slid his eyes away from Scott and glared back at Cora with coldness, “which I did not.  You just assumed.”
Scott, not looking away from the man, cupped the side of Vidal’s face allowing the man to drop a quick kiss into the palm that appeared automatic yet affectionate. “Assuming is dangerous,” Scott idly commented, the quietness of his voice belaying the hostile vibes her brother was emanating at Cora.
Cocking his head, there was something in Scott’s expression that Sara couldn’t read but whatever it was, Vidal’s hands moved soothingly up her brother’s back and shifted to cradle Scott more firmly. “And I did not abide by her terms,” was the whispered response that Sara could barely make out without SAM’s assistance.
“I suppose you didn’t....” Scott held Vidal’s gaze, his hand still curled around the man’s face in a tender caress as he responded just as quietly.  Sara found herself goggling at them, the level of silent communication between her brother and this man seemed to be on another level—moreso than hers with Scott and Scott was her twin. They’d had their own secret way of communicating since birth and she could tell that this connection her brother had with this strange man was pretty deep.
“Cora,” Scott said in a louder, more commanding voice, “fuck off and leave us alone.  I’ll talk to you tomorrow.  Sara—you can stay if you play nice.”
“I’ll play nice,” Sara spoke up, voice high pitched and tight which just made everyone at the table stare at her. She gulped. “Really.”
The rumbling chuckle that erupted from Vidal had her brother looking at him in mock affront before Scott began laughing himself, face ducking into the other man’s chest, shoulders shaking in mirth.

Playing around with mood boards again…..for this snippet:
From: Whatta Man
Fandom: Mass Effect Andromeda
Pairing: MReyder
Warnings: second-ish draft. Unfinished.
Sara pounded on the door in frustration before pausing to yell. “Scott!  I know you’re in there! Scott~!”
Cursing under her breath, she resumed pounding her fist on the locked and closed door. SAM had informed her that her brother was inside the pathfinder quarters—their father’s rooms that he’d inherited with the job. How dare Scott leave her to the tender mercies of the infirmary for so long.  It’d been hours before the docs had finally cleared her to leave, just telling her to take it easy while they tended to the more severely injured patients that were flooding in as they had bigger fish to fry than one exhausted woman who just needed a quiet corner to nap in after she read her wayward younger twin brother the riot act for abandoning her.
It had been embarrassing how long it’d taken her to make her way three sections over to her Dad’s—now Scott’s—rooms. Her brain kept stuttering every time she thought about her Dad being dead. She knew he was gone... but not being there made it hard to process and remember. The few exchanges she’d had with Scott had been short and she hadn’t wanted to try and have emotional conversations over vidcall.
And then there was that whole hostile alien kidnapping thing that she was going to block out for now as that seemed a healthier and more productive response than sitting in the corner and crying.
Either which way—her little brother should have been a good little brother and stayed by her bedside. Instead he’d been drug away to have conversations with the Director of the Initiative—Jarun Tann—with a look on his face that made her want to poke Scott until he stopped twitching so violently. The look on Scott’s face had said a million words when he’d frozen at the request for a report and had to leave her.
Scott shouldn’t look like that—it had been the weirdest combination of both pain and annoyance that had been quickly masked by a fake professionalism that was... she couldn’t even begin to know where to start it was so wrong.
But then again, she’d had time to think while stuck in the infirmary before the kidnapping. The things she’d heard about her brother and his exploits had sounded like a stranger—not her kid brother Scottie.
Her lip trembled a bit as a wave of emotional fatigue swept over her.  She just needed to know Scott was all right. Visual confirmation and then maybe a good hug.
She pounded again on the door and gave it a kick for good measure then began swearing when pain blossomed in her foot. What was that door made out of? Reaching out to put her hand against the door and take a look at her poor foot, it opened before she could put her weight onto it and she stumbled inside.
Scott’s “oof” as she bodily shoved into him on accident was comical but, ever the gentleman, he caught her before she could face plant on the floor.
“Sara?”
Cheeks heating with embarrassment, Sara pushed against her brother’s stupidly muscled and rock hard chest to stand upright. “I hurt my toes....”
Scott looked at her feet, not releasing her.  “That’s what you get for kicking in a door?” He said, voice rising in question as he met her gaze.  Her brother’s face was tired, several days worth of stubble on his cheeks and his hair was mused like he’d been running his hands through it but his eyes were bright with amusement. He was only wearing a set of sweatpants but there were numerous bandages across his torso that covered most of it and a large bandage that covered his right shoulder reached almost to his wrist. At lest Scott had gotten himself taken care of since she’d last seen him.
“You wouldn’t answer—you left me in the infirmary!” She accused him, pushing past him and into the small apartment.  Looking around, she could see that there was clothing scattered around on the floor like her brother had been too tired to clean up after himself and the bed was unmade.  The coffee pot on the counter made noise as it finished brewing, a set of cups sitting next to it. “I was told you had coffee.”
Scott made some sort of impolite noise in the back of his throat and tried to stop her but she headed straight for the caffeine source. Inhaling the scent of fresh brewed coffee, Sara moaned in appreciation. “Ah. Finally. The good stuff.”
Scott trailed after her, letting the door close. “Sara—“
“Don’t you start,” she cut him off, pulling the carafe out of it’s slot and pouring herself a cup.  The aroma of the coffee was heavenly as it splashed into the plain white ceramic mug, warming her face and fingers as she blew on it to cool it slightly and gestured to ask Scott if he wanted a cup.  “I knew you’d taken a few hits and if I had to suffer through being checked out by medical then you should have too.”
Scowling, Scott crossed his arms over his naked chest and leaned one hip into the counter a few feet from her. “I’m fine.  And it was nothing major anyway.”
“Now that is a lie,” an accented voice chided Scott, startling her.
She almost dropped the glass coffee pot when she laid eyes on Scott’s unexpected guest and her brain short circuited and she openly gaped.  Time slowed down and an old Terran song that she and her school girlfriends had liked to listen to seemed to be playing in the background of her brain.
What a man, what a man, what a man,
What a mighty good man
Gotta say it again now
What a man, what a man, what a man,
What a mighty good man
He's a mighty mighty good man
Her brother’s guest was, quite possibly, the hottest man she’d seen in quite some time.  The idle thought that Scottie had traded up since his last school boyfriend was an understatement. Leaning casually against the door to the bathroom, tanned skin stretched over lean muscles and a set of arms that had enough muscle definition to make her want to lick them. Broad shoulders with a hint of a tattoo on the right that contrasted starkly with the wet skin. A trail of dark colored hair trailed down a six pack to disappear beneath the white bath towel that was knotted securely around a trim waist.
The towel didn’t cover much and thick muscular thighs tapered down to a delicate set of ankles above neatly kept feet that  made her swallow and to try and convince her suddenly dry tongue to unglue itself from the roof of her mouth.
Eyes up Sara, her inner mom-voice said.
Not that looking into the man’s face was much better.
Wet hair had been finger combed and the longer forelock had some curl to it as it fell across the man’s forehead. High cheekbones and a strong jawline that was covered by a five o’clock shadow. Dark eyes danced as they met Sara’s and she immediately knew that this man gave her brother a run for his money.
He was absolutely perfect for Scott.
“Um… hi?” She asked, clutching her coffee cup to her chest with both hands.
“Hello,” the man’s accent made a shiver go down her spine it was so purring and sexual but she could also tell he wasn’t hitting on her. He held out his hand to her to shake. “Where is my manners—I’m Reyes.”
Scott made a choking sound that had both of them looking at him.  Her brother’s face was slightly pink in embarrassment and suddenly she knew there was something about Reyes that Scott didn’t want her to know.
Recovering, Scott grumbled under his breath an angaran word—Shena. SAM’s offered translation of mouth made no sense so Sara juggled the coffee cup in her hands and reached out to take the offered hand, giving it a single pump. Reyes turned back to her and one of those dark eyebrows inched upwards in a perfect arch.
Oh god this man.
Clearing her throat, she let Reyes hand drop.  “I’m Sara, Scott’s sister but I’m sure he’s mentioned me.”
Reyes cocked his head in acknowledgment. “Yes he has.  He failed to mention how beautiful you were though.”

Morning writing output
I have no idea where to end this fic—it just keeps going on and on... and I really want a jealous Scott meeting Zia scene... cause yeah.  It’s going to end up being a speed run through the entirety of MEA at this point.
From Seguir, Mass Effect Andromeda, MReyder. Pre-Andromeda meeting.
Warnings: first draft—it’s rough people. Jealous Scott.
Summary: Andromeda was never Scott’s dream—he’d left his dreams along with his poor shattered heart back in the Milky Way.
Tumblr media
Reyes was on a call, but waved Scott over as he continued to talk. “...I know that the shipment was important,” he placated whoever was on the other end, face pinched and tired looking. “I’ll find out where it went and retrieve it for you.... I understand that there will be a late delivery fee.... Of course.”
This went on for another two minutes before Reyes finished the call, gesturing with finality to hang up and slumping back on the couch, neck extended as he closed his eyes. Scott slid over until he was pressed against his lover, arm wrapping around Reyes to hold him close. “Hi.”
Reyes curled into Scott’s side, eyes open a sliver. “Hi. How was your day.”
Scott leaned in to place a soft kiss on Reyes’ lips. “Successful.  I’m hoping your water problem is fixed.”
“Really? That... that is sorely needed good news.”  The muscles in Reyes’ face relaxed, tone gone liquid as his hand found Scott’s.
“Hm.  What was that all about?” Scott asked, curious as to what was stressing Reyes out.
Reyes sighed. “A former business partner hijacked one of my shipments.  It’s causing problems.”
“Hijacked?”
“Stolen,” Reyes confirmed. “I’m going to have to steal it back.  Some of it is too hard to re-source and well... expensive.”
“How can I help?”
Reyes looked at him a bit closer, biting his lower lip between his teeth. “I don’t know....”
“Reyes,” Scott pled. “Let me help you.”
There was a pause before Reyes gave a small nod. “All right.  Zia Cordier is who stole the shipment. She... she may not like me very much.”
“Why?  What did you ever do to her?”
An uncomfortable look crossed Reyes’ face and his hand tightened on Scott’s, thumb rubbing circles.  “I.. Ah... may have used her previously and given her the wrong impression.”
“Wrong impression?” What was Reyes implying?
A blush crept up Reyes’ neck and onto his cheeks. “A honey pot trap.  For information and I needed her help with this job at the time.”
Wait. “What?”
Reyes pulled back, reaching for the water pitcher on his table and pouring himself a glass before taking a sip.  Scott hadn’t moved, waiting for an explanation. Not looking at Scott, Reyes stared at his hands which clutched the glass tight. “I... I wasn’t doing well when I thought you were dead. It... it seemed expedient at the time and I... I couldn’t go through with it completely but I may have led her on. I led her on pretty far.”
“Did you sleep with her?”  Scott couldn’t decide if he was mad or not. Reyes had thought him dead.  He thought he’d made peace with the idea that Reyes might have moved on after he left the Milky Way... was this so different?  On the other hand, a possessive sense of jealously curled up in his belly at the thought of Reyes so much as touching someone else. Reyes was his.
“No.  A few kisses and some over the clothes fondling but I couldn’t...” Reyes eyes slid closed and pain became etched across his face as he took a deep breath in through his nose.  “I couldn’t mi vida. I just couldn’t.”
Scott went to him then, pulling Reyes into his arms until he had Reyes half sitting in his lap. Hand cupping the sharp jawline, Scott nuzzled his nose against Reyes. “Babe...” Reyes’ eyes opened to meet his, fear and old pain in them. “I’m not mad at you,” he insisted.
Reyes pulled his face out of Scott’s hands but didn’t move further. “You should be.  I kissed her and you were... you weren’t dead.”
“But you thought I was.  I...” Scott swallowed heavily, voice hoarse. “I... when I thought I left you back in the Milky Way I wanted you to be happy—even if that meant finding someone else.  We hadn’t made any promises to each other and—“
“We may not but I did to myself—to you,” Reyes cut off, hands tugging at the chain around his neck to pull the dog tags out and hold them up between them. “This... this was my promise to you.  I couldn’t tell you but it was my promise.... I promised I’d follow you wherever you went. I... I was not in a good place...”
Scott tried to understand what Reyes was saying, what he was implying he felt. “Reyes—I didn’t expect you to mourn me forever if I was... if I died.  I’d want you to be happy.”
“Maybe I didn’t want to be,” Reyes shot back, eyes going distant. “I just... it was just surviving. It was money and information....”
Suddenly Scott got it—he should have known better. Reyes had always done his best to stay busy, frustrated with idleness and always with at least several things going on at any one time. He could remember Reyes making an offhand comment about picking up another degree in his downtime prior to Andromeda in order to qualify for his next promotion. Reyes was the type of person who would have needed work to deal with Scott’s absence or he would go mad.
Using his own body to further his work would have just been numbing to Reyes if he thought Scott was dead. This Zia had meant nothing like what they had together.
Scott pulled Reyes closer and firmly kissed his lover on the mouth, tongue darting out to lick at the seam which opened to him as he let his hands begin to rove. Reyes melted into him, arms wrapping around Scott’s neck as he dropped his weight into Scott’s lap.  Breaking just enough to speak, Scott made sure Reyes understood his position. “Let me make this clear—I am yours Reyes and you are mine.  Whatever happened before we both thought the other was dead or gone doesn’t matter. Mine.”
Reyes kissed him this time, an edge of desperation to it. Scott tried to gentle it, reassure his lover who stubbornly pressed against him even more firmly and hands beginning to fumble with the latches of his armor. “Off,” was the frustrated growl.
Laughing, Scott reclaimed Reyes’ mouth and pulled his shirt loose, letting his hands find the warm skin underneath. Reyes broke off swearing when his hand slipped below the belt to cup an asscheek, hips rolling to meet Scott’s. They’d always had a physicality to their relationship that was strong and the urge to reclaim each inch of golden skin spurred Scott on.
Mine mine mine mine his mind chanted as he latched onto Reyes’ neck, his armor plates loosened and beginning to fall away, clattering as they hit the floor.  This didn’t bother Scott as he interrupted to pull Reyes’ shirt off and flung it towards the door.

So yeah.  Giving into the Seguir Sequel plotbunny that’s probably rabid?  That would be me.
Still Untitled Sequel/Alternative Perspective to Seguir, Mass Effect/Mass Effect Andromeda, MReyder, MShenko. Pre Andromeda Meeting.
Warnings: first draft. As always Reyes POV and he’s looking at Scott.
Tumblr media
He slept a few hours despite his intentions. Waking up, he edged out of the bed and used the en-suite.  It was almost 0300... he should go back to his ship but he made the mistake of glancing over at Scott.
Scott was dead to the world, deeply asleep and face smashed into the pillow that Reyes had vacated, hair arrayed like a halo on the pillow and the fine mahogany strands glinting gold in the amber light. The same light from the bathroom draped over naked skin to define the musculature that Reyes had earlier outlined with his tongue and fingers, curves creating shadows that painted the landscape on display.  The sheets had slipped down to rest around his hips, hiding almost nothing from Reyes’ appreciative gaze as he noted the marks he’d left behind—the mark he’d sucked into the curve of the hip and the faint marks from his hands where he’d gripped during their coupling on thighs and ass.
He wanted to remember this night so he took several photos with his omnitool, saving them automatically under heavy encryption.  This was for his eyes only—he didn’t want anyone else to see Scott like this.
Naked.
Vulnerable.
Beautiful.
Finishing his last photo, his feet didn’t seem to want to take him to collect his clothing that was scattered on the floor around the bed. The warm, inviting bed that had Scott in it who’d curled up so trustingly against him like he was seeking shelter from the universe.
Swallowing heavily, Reyes didn’t get dressed. Instead he climbed back onto his side of the bed. As if he sensed Reyes’ body heat, Scott shifted and turned into him as soon as he started to lift the covers to pull them up as their legs tangled.  Scott finally settled with his nose tucked into the juncture of neck and shoulder, one leg and arm wrapped around Reyes even as he wrapped his arm around Scott, hand resting in the curve of spine.
Drawing his fingers up and down the spine in a caress, Reyes closed his eyes. The weight of Scott against him and the shared body heat lulled him rapidly back to sleep.

Snippet Sunday
Inspired today by all the jokes @radio-chatter @interstellar-chaos @quietborderline have made about Jay Hernandez (Thomas Magnum in Magnum PI) and the idea of Reyes Vidal in the loudest Aloha shirt ever.
Specifically inspired by this picture.
Tumblr media
Untitled Snippet, MReyder, Mass Effect Andromeda
Warnings: unfinished snippet. Scott sets a land speed record for being affronted to jealous to aroused.
Scott couldn’t believe what he was seeing. His eyes felt like they were bleeding so garish was the picture in front of him.
Where had his boyfriend found such an ugly shirt?
“Reyes…. Where did you…”
Nonchalantly looking up from his tea that he’d been sharing with Keema, he tugged at the button down shirt that was an alarming shade of red, pink, green, and blue in the wildest pattern Scott had ever seen.  SAM’s assessment of it being an Angaran pattern wasn’t appreciated as it was objectively quite ugly despite the fact that his boyfriend’s tan skin still somehow managed to glow next to the affront to Scott’s retinas.
“It was a gift,” Reyes commented, distracted by something Keema said under her breath to him which made him snort into his tea at the shared joke.
Scott’s eyebrow may have twitched. Who was giving his boyfriend presents? “Who?” He asked, trying to hide his sudden jealousy attack.
Reyes eyes slid to meet his, lips quirking upwards as did his brow.  His boyfriend had noticed the green eyed monster creeping into his tone. “Why do you want to know?”
Blushing, Scott fidgeted before firmly stopping himself—he had no reason to be embarrassed for wanting to know who was making overtures towards Reyes. “You’re my lover,” he meant to be firm but suspected he missed his target and sounded plaintive.
Hearing Scott, Reyes put down his tea and turned to him, arms reaching out for Scott. “Mi vida,” he purred as he pulled Scott to him to sit in his lap, rearranging them so Scott was curled into his chest, nose tucked under Reyes’ chin as a soft kiss was pressed to his forehead. “It does not matter who it came from.”
Scott nuzzled closer into Reyes neck, closing his eyes. He could hear Keema leaving to give them privacy. “Scott,” Reyes asked hand threading through his hair to cup his head. “Mi vida?”
Twisting one hand in the offensive fabric that covered his lover’s chest, Scott tugged. “I don’t like you wearing something that someone else gave you,” he admitted. Insecurity was a constant problem—there were days he didn’t get why Reyes put up with him and all his problems. They could only spend a precious handful of hours together every few weeks and sometimes it was months in between his visits to Kadara or they would meet up somewhere like Aya.
“I got that,” Reyes spoke gently, fingers finding the spot behind Scott’s ear that made him melt further into his lover’s embrace and his groin began to predictably react making him squirm slightly to adjust. Just the scent of his lover’s cologne was enough to make him want Reyes so badly.

A second, longer MReyder wip update for my MReyder stans.
From Seguir, MReyder, Mass Effect Andromeda. Milky Way Meeting AU.
Warnings: first draft.
Tumblr media
Summary: Andromeda was never Scott’s dream—he’d left his dreams along with his poor shattered heart back in the Milky Way.
When he woke in the morning, Reyes was still in bed with him.  The soft way he smiled as Scott awoke wrapped in his embrace made him tingle as he stretched, enjoying the way their bodies rubbed together underneath the covers.  Blinking shyly, Scott smiled at Reyes. “Good morning,” Scott whispered, unwilling to leave the comfort of the bed.
“Good morning,” Reyes agreed, hand cradling Scott’s face to run up over his jaw and through his hair in a caress. “Would you like to join me for breakfast?”
Chest expanding in hope, Scott couldn’t agree fast enough. “Yes.”
“Good,” Reyes leaned forward and kissed him tenderly on the mouth causing Scott’s eyes to slide shut in ecstasy.
God—Reyes could kiss.
It took another ten or twenty minutes for them to stop rolling around in the tangle of sheets and leave the bed and Scott found himself reaching for Reyes and his hand being caught, body pulled back in to touch and remain close.  They showered together, taking their time and re-exploring each other’s body to learn the curve of hip and shoulder, the bulk of muscle, the silky texture of skin and the rough brush of an unshaven cheek against Scott’s inner thighs as Reyes suckled him down to the root as fingers rode deep within where he’d been just hours earlier.
Breathing became labored in the dense heat of the sauna-like shower as he braced himself against the cool tiled wall. Scott could barely hold onto the broad shoulders to anchor himself to reality as Reyes pleasured him and his eyes rolled back hard in his skull as his vision whited out in pleasure. When he fumbled and reached for Reyes to return the favor, it took only a handful of strokes before Reyes came, mouth on Scott’s as he sagged boneless into him relying on Scott to catch him.
They lingered in the cascade of water, just breathing into each other’s mouths, unwilling to separate.
Finally making it to a no name cafe for breakfast on the Presidium, Scott couldn’t take his eyes off his dining companion. Reyes was as beautiful in the light of day as he had been in the neon lights of the dance floor. He was relaxed as he lounged across the table giving Scott his full attention that never wavered. The dewy bronze skin glowed as he smiled back at Scott with a flash of white teeth that weren’t completely straight below whiskey colored eyes that blazed with good humor. Offering his hand, Scott took it and laced their fingers together on top of the table. Their hands just seemed to fit together as if they’d been reaching for each other all of their lives.
Scott was enchanted.  They talked for hours about everything and nothing.  If asked, Scott couldn’t have told you what they ate but remembered it as the best meal he’d had in ages.
As the meal wound down, they parted with reluctance. Scott didn’t want to leave but he did need to do a few errands before reporting tomorrow morning first thing at the end of his leave.
“Do you... would you like to get dinner tonight?” Reyes asked him as he stood to leave.
Delight sprouted in his chest.
“Yes. Where and when?”  He’d have to cancel his plans with his friends but they’d understand.
“1800?  At Apollo’s?”  Reyes stood and swayed closer to him, hand rubbing along Scott’s as he leaned close to speak.
“I’ll meet you there,” Scott promised.
“It’s a date then.” Leaning in further, Reyes kissed him softly goodbye. “Until then cariño.”

And it’s done? Well as done as anything ever gets before i hit publish.  I’m sure I’ll have to go back and fix typos and grammar mistakes tomorrow.

Tumblr media
Summary: Andromeda was never Scott’s dream—he’d left his dreams along with his poor shattered heart back in the Milky Way.

Special thanks to @radio-chatter and @interstellar-chaos for being my cheerleaders while writing this.  It wouldn’t have gotten done so quickly without you guys!

Also #2! I'm curious what your answer will be. :)
#2: Favorite character?
Oh god. You would ask. I mean… Reyes Vidal lives rent free in my brain at all times but sometimes I really have other characters flit about. I would say a fair version of this question would ask favorite character per fandom.  I mean Reyes is Reyes right?  If you were to (for instance) tell me he’s now a biotic I would probably just be like, game over.  He’s my favorite.
I don’t particularly love Miguel Galindo from Mayans but (as you know @radio-chatter) I picture his actor Danny Pino as an older version of Reyes. The Miguel from The Outlaw and the Cartel Boss occasionally likes to rant in my brain when I’m tired and had a frustrating day at work (which really makes me wonder about spirit animals and inner voices).  Miguel isn’t a nice guy but he’s got reasons for why he does things which is probably why I find him so interesting—which is the same as Reyes. He’s kinda the villain but not the villain?  I should probably actually watch more of Mayans to answer this question…
Maybe I just have a thing for Reyes-like men. (I could even be brought around to your prefered version of Reyes @radio-chatter 😏)
I do love my living in the shadows, morally shades of grey characters.

Fashion and the Green Eyed Monster
Mass Effect Andromeda, MReyder, Oneshot.
Summary: Scott couldn’t believe what he was seeing. His eyes felt like they were bleeding so garish was the picture in front of him. Where had his boyfriend found such an ugly shirt?

A Soul’s Weight
Mass Effect Andromeda AU, MReyder, Egyptian Mythology borrowing
Summary: The futures he had seen taunted him, drew him, seduced him. The possibilities that Scott Ryder presented were... intriguing.  The cry of the ibis called across the sands, chased by the howls of the golden wolves of Anubis that hunted this night.
So little interested him any more.

Alternative summary: Someone had to write a fic about that code name...and take it literally
