[Muffled city sounds as movers walk around and shift boxes around]
Leon/Lilly:   [Humming or whistling a part of the song "Two Beds, Two Baths and a Ghost" by Bug Hunter, ghostly sounding voice effect as they talk]  Hate to see you boys go….but I guess I'll see you in a few months when the new tenants come in
[Doors shut as the last mover leaves the apartment]
Leon/Lilly:  Maybe Jay-Jay and I should place bets this time; bet I can scare this new guy in half the amount it took those old coots from before.  [Pause]  Old people are just a drag to haunt  [In a mocking old tone]  Oh, what a drafty window we have…Those kids upstairs better stop with that noise, or I'm calling the cops!.... When did I spill red paint in the bathtub?  [Back to their normal voice]  It's like, get a clue!
[Door opening]
Leon/Lilly:  Oh! That must be them.
[Dogs come running in along with some human footsteps. The dog starts to bark]
Leon/Lilly:  Well, well, it's been a while since a dog has been in here  [Pause ,  then talking to the dog while it is still barking at them]  Yes pup…keep barking away at me~ All your owner will see is nothing but air! Haha.  [More barking]  Now, now…come on, you little dummy, your owner is going to think you've gone crazy! You are a sweet-looking pup, I'll give you that, and that vest you got on makes you look pretty dapper. Wish I could pet you...but I doubt my ghost fingers would feel good for an ear scratch.  [Pause]  I don't think it would feel like anything really...
[Doggo walks away as Listener starts walking around]
Lilly/Leon:   [Confused]  Did the new tenant just laugh? That was... weird. Maybe they just remembered a funny joke? Or do they think their dog going crazy over a lamp is funny [Disgruntled ]  Don't tell me they're one of those nuts that want their butt to be haunted! If that's the case, then try this on for size!
[Lilly/Leon makes a box slide across the floor, the dog barks, and the Listener trips over the box and lands on the floor with a thud ]
Lilly/Leon:   [Sharp intake of air]  Ooo, that looked like it hurt. Why didn't they avoid that box? They didn't even try to step out of the way. It was right in front of them, and they literally walked toward it!  [Pause]  Oh yeah, that's going to bruise  [Pause]  Wait... a dog with a vest, one of those white walking sticks...clearly lacking in awareness of their surroundings.  [Realizing their horror and shame]  Oh my god, they're blind  [Pause]  I am such a freaking asshole.
[Listener speaks]
Lilly/Leon:   [Softly repeating]  Yes...you...are...  [Confused]  Did...did they just say yes?  [Pause]  They...they just said yes. Their faces suddenly pale, and they looked over at  [Pause]  Me?... Wait, wait, wait! You can see me!? You can hear me!?
[Listener starts to walk away]
Lilly/Leon:  They turned away way too fast.  [Starts to follow Listener]  Hey! Hey!! I got something to ask you!  [Listener ignores]  Wait! You can see me! I just...I just want to know why? Or how!?  [Still being ignored]  Can you just look at me, please? Please!  [Getting desperate]  It's been years since I died, and you're the first person I've met who can see me, so please just look at me. Please!!  [Angery]  STOP IGNORING ME; IM HERE! I'M RIGHT HERE!!!
[Something breaks and shatters, and the dog starts barking and howling up a storm before stopping after a bit]
Lilly/Leon:   [Sounding a little regretful]  Well...I scared them really good this time.  [Sighing and taking a beat]  I'm sorry...okay? I'm sorry. I just got a little excited and-
[Listener speaks]
Lilly/Leon:  Uh... angry?... Yeah, I'm sorry I got mad at you, and I'm sorry I...uh, broke some of your stuff.
[Listener speaks]
Lilly/Leon:  Okay, yes! I'm sorry that I chucked that box at you! But in my defense, I didn't know you were blind!
[Listener speaks before they start walking away]
Lilly/Leon:  I…Wait!! Wait!  [Desperate and truthfully]  I'm sorry, Okay? It's just…when you're dead, there isn't much to do. It's boring, and sometimes you just want to have some fun. But I know that doesn't excuse… I'm sorry, I don't hurt people on purpose  [In a softer voice but lower voice],  unlike some ghosts.  [Pause]  Most of the time, living people don't even know we're here; if they subsect, they'll try to get in contact. But after a while, they all just forget and move on . [In an amazed tone]  But you know, you know, and you can see me! How is that even possible? I heard about it while alive but didn't even think it was real. Hell, I didn't even think ghosts were real, either. Were you born with it? Or did you get it when you became blind? Did you become blind? I assume so because of the scarring around your eyes-
[Listener cuts them off and starts to walk away again with their doggo]
Lilly/Leon:  You don't want to talk about it? Hey! Hold on! We don't have to talk about it! We can talk about anything, ask me anything! Please, I just want to pretend that I'm alive and just … speak to someone.
[Listener asks if there aren't other ghosts to talk to?]
Lilly/Leon:  Aren't there other ghosts? Oh, this apartment is full of them. Jay-Jay is a few doors down; she's pretty fun! A speakeasy owner during the 1920s, there's a secret door to her underground bar in her old apartment, but no one's found it yet. Just don't place bets with her; I think she cheats. Then there's Mr. Courtae, some old landlord from the 50s. He's okay, but he still keeps asking us ghosts for rent… it's kinda annoying.  [Pause for thinking]  Humm… there's also Marigold, and I hope you aren't afraid of little ghost girls because she is one. The apartment was a manor house back in the 1800s, believe it or not.
[Listener speaks]
Lilly/Leon:  Yeah, this apartment is like a time capsule filled with dead people from every era!  [Laugh]  But they don't make good conversation.
[Listener asks why]
Lilly/Leon:  Why? Uhh…how can I explain this…uhhmm...Us ghosts are like memories; we "live" in our past, for lack of a better term. Some more than others. How we see the world of the living is like through a blurry window. We see shapes moving, but we can never make it out; I know the world is changing, but I can't grasp it. Every time I try to…it just slips by. So we just stick to what we know…and what we know is the past.  [Pause]  There are only so many times you can hear a story about a shootout with 1920s gangsters until it gets boring.
[Listener says it sounds like how they see the world]
Lilly/Leon:  That's…how  [Pause]  You say that's how you see the world? Why would you say that? Don't tell me you're an old emo kid. I had my fill of that lifestyle in middle school [ Laughs for a second]
[Doggo Barks]
Lilly/Leon:   [Then remembers that Listener is blind]  Oh…shit… .[Starts to be very apologetic]  Sorry, Sorry! I forgot that…I am so sorry! I'm acting like such a jackwagon right now!
[Listener says it's okay]
Lilly/Leon:  It's okay? So we are cool?  [Laughing a little, before it slowly dies off]  Good...good  [Pause]  Before I forget, there is another ghost I should warn you about…We call them  [Tone drops a little]  The Attic One….
[Listener laughs]
Lilly/Leon:  Why are you laughing?  [Starts to laugh a little, too]  Okay, the name is super dramatic, but we have no idea who or what they are. Marigold knows more about them than any of us, but she doesn't like to talk about it. What I do know is that they are the oldest ghost here, and they stay up in the attic, never leaves that place, and HATEs it when we enter their space….they hate it even more, when someone living goes up there; I'm talking full-on scratching, pushing, and wanting to hurt you kinda temper.
[Listener asks a question]
Lilly/Leon:  Have I been up there before?  [Unsure]  I think so … when I was alive, but when I try to think about it...I feel sick…which is something we ghosts aren't supposed to feel. We don't feel pain or anything for that matter.  [Stressed sounding]  But every time I try to remember the attic or how I died, I just get this….awful feeling, and things get so fuzzy to the point where these feelings somehow force me into the Fade.
[Listener asks a question]
Lilly/Leon:  Oh, the Fade is where ghosts who can't pass on go every once in a while. You could say it's like we are sleeping, but we aren't. You fade from the living realm and just go somewhere where you don't even know you're dead because you aren't anywhere. We kinda stop existing… [Bitter joy/sadness tone of voice]  it's nice…  [Pause, then speaks in a sadder tone]  Could…uhm, Could we talk about something else? It can be about anything….just not about….death… [Bitter]  I'm sick of death, and we ghost aren't supposed to feel sick,  [Weak chuckle]  Ya know? We aren't supposed to feel anything…
[Doggo gives a soft, sad whine. The Listener says yes]
Lilly/Leon:  Thanks…
[Listener asks for Lilly/Leon's name]
Lilly/Leon:  Ah…right; since you'll be living with a ghost that you can see and talk to, I guess that makes me a roommate who you won't be able to count on when it comes to paying half the rent…but a roommate nonetheless. Lilly/Leon, that's my name. What's yours…and what's your furry helper's name too? They are technically a roommate as well, you know.
[Listener answers and doggo gives a happy bark]
Lilly/Leon:  Nice to meet you, properly...I guess?  [To the doggo]  And nice to meet you too, Gingersnap.
[Listener asks a question]
Lilly/Leon:  You want me to help you with something? Uh..sure, I mean, I can try…I guess
[Listener asks them to move some boxes, tables, and chairs]
Lilly/Leon:  You want me to use my spooky ghost powers to- hang on!  [Sounding a little offended]  It's not just "Spooky Ghost Powers"! It takes a lot of energy to perform what we Ghosts can do, and you can't even comprehend how hard it is to control! Get too emotional while a living person is nearby, and BOOM! Guess who joined the dead people club! Use too much energy, and you force yourself into the Fade! It is a very high form of telekinesis that-
[Listener cuts them off and responds]
Lilly/Leon:   [Repeating what Listener said]  That… I've used to mess with people… [Trying to come up with a comeback]  Okay…the thing is….you know… it's not like…what I meant by it  [Pause]  FINE!! I'll move your stupid table!!
[Sound Effect of furniture being moved around]
Lilly/Leon:  [Mumbling to themselves as they move stuff around: improve if ya like]  … I'm a ghost…. I'm dead….and now I'm a housekeeper? I can't even get paid for this...I don't even care that they're blind…I throw another box at their stupid smug face…. it's not spooky ghost powers…
[Doggo Barks are something falls in the kitchen]
Lilly/Leon:  Are you okay?!?
[Listener says yes, they are just trying to find mugs]
Lilly/Leon:  Do you want my help finding your mugs? No offense, but your backing system is kinda a mess…
[Listener says no, they are good]
Lilly/Leon:  Okay, I'll just wait here then…I finished moving your table and stuff; it should be easier to get around now.
[After a moment, the Listener and doggo come back into the room]
Lilly/Leon:   [Trying to gently guide Listener in]  Yup, careful…just…just take a step to your left…nope other-yeah! There ya go, perfect.  [Pause]  Whatcha make? Coffee? Having a friend coming over or something? Want me to freak them out?! Ha…. kidding.
[Listener says the other mug is for Lilly/Leon, as they set the cups down on the table]
Lilly/Leon:   [A little unsure]  That mug is for me? Uh…ha, yeah…Remember that whole conversation where I mentioned I was a ghost?
[Listener says to pretend]
Lilly/Leon:  Well, yeah, I did say I just wanted to pretend I was alive for a little bit  [Pause, then a little more cheerful sounding]  Alright then; let's pretend.  [Softer]  Thank you.
[Listener asks a question]
Lilly/Leon:  How was my day?  [Pause]  My day was  [Pause]  good…yeah, my day was pretty good!
The End

Jiro Kyouka x Y/N ~ Backstage Conversation
Jiro was helping the rest of the band prepare for the show.
“Geez, this is tiring. Setting up mics, carrying amps and whatnot. I might not even have energy for the show after this.”
Jiro thought, rather sweaty from all the heavy-lifting she was doing. She then started feeling some guilt.
“Nah, I shouldn’t think that, me and the rest of the band always dreamed of being able to play for a crowd. And NOW we finally have the chance to do so! I should be GRATEFUL not selfish” Jiro told herself. She took a look around and saw Y/N.
“Hm? Oh, It’s the new bassist. They joined about a month ago. Maybe I could go say hi”
She walked across the stage toward Y/N. Who was attempting to pick up a rather large amp.
“Uh...Hey! That’s a pretty heavy amp you’re about to pick up. Do you want me to help?”
Y/N nodded yes.
“Yeah? Alright, on three. 1...2...3!”
Jiro grunted as she and Y/N carried the amp to it’s assigned spot. The amp made a small thud when the two placed it down.
“There, that should do it. So, you ready for the show? I hope you are! You’re a bassist after all. The role of the bassist in a band is the sonic link between the rhythmical and melodic elements of any band. With drums, it provides the backbone. In addition, the traditional function of the bass guitar is to flesh out any bands' sound. You and I, we’re what keeps the band operating smoothly .” She told her with a smile.
 “Alright everyone, in your places! Show’s starting in five minutes” Ida, the band manager shouted.
“You got it Ida!” Jiro shouted back
Jiro gave Y/N a pat on the back and whispered...
“Good luck newbie!”
And so the show began...
Y/N did her part, plucking the strings and defending the flow of the rhythm. Bakugou, played the drums, applying the heartbeat and keeping the song alive. Kaminari and Tokoyami, working the guitar, creating the foundation. Momo on the keys powerfully supporting the vocalist. That vocalist being Jiro. Bringing the prominent melody to this heroic symphony. But, as all things do, the show ended and the band left to the backstage.
Y/N sat on the floor, wiping the sweat off of her forehead. Jiro walked over to them, holding bottled water in both hands.
“Hey, good job during the show! You were absolutely fantastic. You perform like an expert, how long have you been playing bass?” Jiro asked.
Y/N held up her fingers. Five in their left, and four in their right.
“Nine years! For real?” Jiro questioned in shock.
Y/N nodded her head yes.
“Woah... So this isn’t the first band you’ve been in”
Y/N shook their head no. All of a sudden they positioned themself up close to Jiro. Jiro’s face started to grow a scarlet red.
“Wha- W-What are you doing?” she shrieked with embarrassment.
“I want to ask you a question.” Y/N whispered with a slight pink on their face.
“Alright, what! What is it?!?” Jiro shouted.
“Someday, would you like to play bass together? Just the two of us?” they asked, the pink on their face intensifying,
“Play bass? The two of us?... Sure, sure we can.” Jiro answered.
Y/N gave Jiro a soft smile.
A few minutes of silence pass.
Jiro backs away, her face as red as ever. She held out one of her plastic water bottles. “Here. T-Take this.” Jiro stuttered a bit, she had never been this close to Y/N before.
“Hey, there are other bands getting ready to perform. We should probably get going.”
Jiro and Y/N packed their things and got ready to leave.
“And hey, about that bass thing. Does 4p.m, next Friday sound good to you?.” Jiro asked.
Y/N said yes.
“Alright, good. Let’s go.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[In the foggy streets of London, the night is quiet as two pairs of footsteps echo on the cobblestones]
Onna/Oris: [Deep sigh] I don't know…It doesn't feel right. Are you sure the Order of the Golden Moon hasn't caught on to this little feast of yours?
Vamp. Friend: Come now! Those hunters are too busy with that ghoul outbreak to worry about some patients at a hospital looking slightly paler than usual.  Besides, It's been like…what? Thousands of years since you were turned?
Onna/Oris: 1044 years, if I must be precise.
Vamp. Friend: Exactly, and you haven't gotten drunk since!
Onna/Oris: [Sounding a little more cheerful] Need I remind you I grew up in a village of Vikings… I've had enough mead to last me this cursed lifetime and then some.
Vamp. Friend: And need I remind you, rotten honey is not the same as glorious ale…, and it's nothing like the feeling of drugged blood in your stomach!
Onna/Oris: [Trying to sound excited, but their heart just isn't in it]  If you say so…
[Silent for a moment as the two near the hospital]
Vamp. Friend: [Trying to make themselves sound sympathetic, as they care for Onna/Oris] I was getting worried about you, Onna/Oris. It's…uh… it's been a decade you know…since…since they passed.
Onna/Oris:  [Sounds as if they have been telling themselves that every single day] Ten years, three months, and a day…
Vamp. Friend: And you just stayed inside your manor, all that time. Your servants told me just kept feasting on little rodents and sleeping in their crypt most days and by night you just stayed in the manor's attic …it wasn't healthy! Us vampires, we move one! That's what we do best!
Onna/Oris : But how can I move on, after…after all the dreams we had!? [Seems to be happy for a split second while remembering] We were going to start a family…and I saw it all, little feet running through the hallways, readings stories before they slept [Back to sad thoughts] Now the hallways are empty…and quiet…and there's nothing but a broken crib in a half-painted room to remember any of them by…
Vamp. Friend: Onna/Oris…you…you can still start a family, you still deserve to be happy even if they are gone. You wouldn't be doing anything wrong… [Starts to sound a little nervous] I'm… I'm sorry, this was an awful idea. You haven't had human blood in years and…and I shouldn't have said- [cut themselves off] if you wish to go home, I won't stop you.
Onna/Oris: [Doesn't want to upset their friend] Oh no, no! I'm grateful for the invitation, honestly! It's been a while since we've had a good hunt together.
Vamp. Friend: [Sounding relieved that Onna/Oris is not upset, and happily moves on] Oh, I wouldn't call it a hunt, more like a buffet if I'm being honest. But you'll love it either way!
[The footsteps stop as the two arrive at the hospital]
Vamp. Friend: [Voice a little darker, and hungry] Speaking of which, here we are. I'll see you inside; bon appetit my friend~
[The friend seems to dart and climb up the hospital wall, disappearing into an open window]
Onna/Oris: [To themselves] Well, let's see…That window seems to be slightly open, could be an excellent place to start.
[Onna/Oris climb up the hospital wall, and opens a window to a cold, and dark room]
Onna/Oris: [To themselves, holding back from having to throw up] That stench! Rot…and decay? What kind of room is this? Surely it's not the morgue…no…no there are beds here, but the bodies in them…they are so small…are these children?
[Footsteps slowly walking on the old wooden floors. Onna/Oris bends down to check the pulse of a figure on one of the beds]
Onna/Oris: [To themselves] Dead… you poor thing. I don't drink living children's blood at the best of times, but to drink dead blood? [Disgusted at the thought] No. It is bitter and thick…and so… [growling slightly] vile. Hum, this room has nothing for me, it's best I move on-
[A small cough and voice from the Listener catches Onna/Oris's attention, who stumbles back in surprise]
Onna/Oris: [ Surprised and a little awkward] A-ah! Good, good evening, little one; I didn't mean to wake you…I uhm, I was only-
[Listener cuts in and says they know who they are]
Onna/Oris: [Nerves] Y-you know who I am? Little one…please, don't be frightened of me, I-
[Listener cuts in and says that Onna/Oris is an angel]
Onna/Oris: [Confused] A-an angel?
[Onna/Oris walks over to the Listener, then sits at the foot of their bed]
Onna/Oris: You think I am an angel?  Why- [The Listener tries to sit up] Oh no! Please, little one, please do not strain yourself, lay back down, ple-
[The Listener is taken with a coughing fit]
Onna/Oris: [Concerned] Ah! Please, lay down, lay down! Th-that's it, nice and slow…I wish I had some water I could offer…maybe, maybe I could go find some for you-
[Listener says no, they are frightened]
Onna/Oris : You…you don't want me to leave?
Onna/Oris: [To themselves] They look so frightened…and the blood coming from their mouth…it smells so rotten. [Sad tone] Please…I can't go through this again. I'm sorry child, but please, don't make me stay! I-I need to leave…
[ Listener says something, reaching out and grabbing onto Onna/Ori's sleeve]
Onna/Oris: Ah!...you?…why are you holding my sleeve?
[Listener speaks]
Onna/Oris: You wanted to make sure I was real? [Soft chuckle ] Y-yes, I am real, see, you can feel my hand on yours, can't you?
[Listener speaks]
Onna/Oris: Why am I so cold you ask? Well, I'm… I'm an angel like you said, and where I'm from it is very cold because we are so high up! But you don't feel cold, you know!
[Listener speaks]
Onna/Oris: Why? because we….uhm…we wear very big and warm coats with scarves…
[Listener speaks]
Onna/Oris: Yes, like the one I'm wearing right now.
Onna/Oris: [To themselves] They look so at ease now…
Onna/Oris: [Short pause, before sounding more confident] Do you still wish for me to stay? I'll stay here with you if you promise to stay in bed.
[Listener agrees]
Onna/Oris: Good, here
[Sound soft-spoken and gentle, fabric sound effects as covers are being pulled up]
Onna/Oris: Let me wipe some of that blood from your mouth, and get you tucked back in…oh, these blankets are very thin. [Thinking for a moment before removing their Scarf] I'm going to wrap my scarf around you, okay? No no, it's alright! ...
[Onna/Oris wraps the Listener up in their scarf]
Onna/Oris: Oh!  [Soft chuckle] it's a little big on you, I can barely see your face! Where did you go~?
[Fabric sound]
Onna/Oris: There you are!
[Fabric sound, and the Listener giggles]
Onna/Oris: [To themselves] You poor little thing, your heartbeat is so fragile. You are too young to understand what is happening to you, and yet you seem so content to quietly go into the night, it's… it's not fair
[Onna/Oris begins to brush Listener's hair]
Onna/Oris: You are very brave you know, and so very strong…I know you don't feel like that but you are. There is a great pain within you, but you have taken it with such soundness, and for so long you have held on and I am…I am proud of you.
[Listener speaks]
Onna/Oris: [Reassuring] I know, I know you are scared, but I'm not going anywhere, I'm an angel after all, and that's our job…to watch over people.
[Listener speaks]
Onna/Oris: You don't feel cold anymore? [Sympathetic] Se-see, it's that scarf of mine, I told you it keeps us nice and warm up there.
[Listener speaks]
Onna/Oris: Of course, you can keep it, you are going to need it once I take you where the other angels are.
[Listener speaks, saying they "knew it"]
Onna/Oris: You…knew it? You know what?
Onna/Oris: That I was here to take you to [Pause slightly] heaven… [Trying to stay cheerful] You are a clever little thing, I wanted it to be a surprise but I guess… I'm not very good at that.
[Listener speaks, saying they can't wait but, are just so tired]
Onna/Oris: [Gently] It's okay, I know you are tired, you can take a little nap before we go. I'll wake you up when it's time, I won't leave without you, I promise… that's it, it's okay to close your eyes, just sleep.
[Listener slowly falls asleep, but Onna/Oris can hear their dying heart beat]
Onna/Oris: [To themselves] I can't stand their heartbeat…the Sound it just…it hurts, it hurts to listen to. [Getting slightly angry] This isn't fair…why would they just leave this child here to die…The city trades their lives as if they are lambs in the market, forcing them to work in the factories till their bodies become so broken. With life so miserable, a good peaceful death would be well enough fair, but they aren't even allowed that!
Onna/Oris: [To themselves, as an idea starts to form in their mind] Don't they deserve a second chance…yes, yes they do! I'm sorry little one, but this will hurt for just a moment. I'm just going to take your wrist and-by the Dark Mother, you are like ice, but…your blood still flows. Just a little bite-
[Onna/Oris bites into Listener's wrist, which causes them to wake up slightly, and they start to struggle for a moment]
Onna/Oris: [To themselves, as they drink the blood] I'm sorry, I'm sorry, please stop struggling…they are too weak to even cry out for help… I'm so sorry…
[Onna/Oris gasped and let's go, spitting out the bitter blood]
Onna/Oris: [Disgusted] Rotting blood! Awful…vile [Noticed that the Listener's heartbeat has stopped] Little one? Can?-…no…no you can't hear me, your heart has stopped. There isn't much time-
[Onna/Oris stops themselves]
Onna/Oris : Wait…they are free from their pain now…free from this world. If I bring them back…what will the high council think? Creating fledglings is forbidden without their permission..and I-... [Demertimed] No, to hell with the council. [Bites their own wrist, and grunts in pain then offers their blood to the Listener. Whispering softly] As we drank from the Elder Father's wrist, and granting us life beneath her shadows embrace. So may you drink from my wrist and be blessed by the Dark Mother…
[Pause, as Onna/Oris try to see if the Listener is "alive"]
Onna/Oris : Little one?...are you… [Waits for a heartbeat, they sound heartbroken when there is none] I-I waited too long… you're gone. I am sorry…so, so sorry.
[Onna/Oris stands up after laying  the Listener back down, fabric sounds]
Onna/Oris: [Taking deep breaths, trying not to cry] There you are, tucked back into bed, nice and warm. [Weak chuckle] I-I almost envy you…sleep well.
[Onna/Oris leaves the wing through the door. If any, the ambient sounds fade out for a short while to indicate time passing. Then they fade in as Onna/Oris is walking slowly through the hospital's hallway]
Onna/Oris: [To themselves] As much as I would rather not stay here another second, I would be such a horrible friend if I leave without telling him/her/them…if I can find him/her/them that is…It feels like I've been searching this place for hours! Probably would go by faster if I didn't have to hide every time of nurse or doctor-
[There is a blood-curdling scream that stops Onna/Oris in their tracks, then they start to run towards the Sound]
Onna/Oris: [To themselves] W-what? No!...no, tha-that couldn't be because of him/her/them! he/she/they would never be that careless when trying to feed in a place like this!
[Onna/Oris slow down as they approach what sounds to be a vampire trying to drink blood from one of the nurses]
Onna/Oris: [To themselves] I can smell the blood…there is just so much, like something out of a frenzy…It should be coming from around this coroner-Uh?
[Onna/Oris noticed something on the floor]
Onna/Oris: [To themselves] That's my scarf…why is it on the floor? How…did it…
[Onna/Oris rounds the corner and stops at the sight of a small figure trying to drink blood from a nurse]
Onna/Oris: [Shocked] The…child…they…you, [Slowly becoming happy] You have returned! It worked! Praise the Dark Mother it worked! Come here you beautiful little raven!
[The newly turned Listener stops feasting on hisses at Onna/Oris]
Onna/Oris: [Taken aback by that] Are you frightened of me? It's alright, it's alright, here, I'm going to crouch down… I'm not here to hurt you. Do you not remember me? I was the angel,
[Listener hisses again]
Onna/Oris: [To themselves] Something is wrong, their eyes look off…is this supposed to happen to fledglings? [Getting lost in thought] Well, I never made a fledgling before…in fact, I don't think I know any vampire that has made one in recent time [Cuts themselves off] are they running towards me?
[ Listener runs towards Onna/Oris]
Onna/Oris: [Slight relieved] Don't scare me like that child! I thought for a moment you didn't know who I was- [Listener bites Onna/Oris, who yelled out in pain] AHH!
Onna/Oris: [To themselves, in pain and confusion] They are biting me! Wh-what do I do?! It's not like I'm going to punch a child! Damn it Onna/Oris, why do you never think things through! [Trying to calm down] Okay, okay .... Deep breath and calm down…attacking won't do any good, nor would yelling. They are confused and frightened…like…like you were when you were turned. Just show them that you are someone they can trust.
[ Listener seems to stop]
Onna/Oris: [To themselves] They are stopping, and they seem to be relaxing as well, this is good, this is very good. Oh, they look so tired…I don't blame them.
Onna/Oris: [Winces in pain] Despite your fangs not coming in yet, your bite is very strong for such a little fledgling [Chuckles in good spirits] But I'll take that as a good sign, [Gently spoken] Can you understand me? Do you know who I am?
[ Listener speaks]
Onna/Oris: [Relieved and excited] Y-yes, angel…well, not quite. My name is Onna/Oris, I'm…well, there is a lot I need to explain but right now we don't have time. Here-
[Fabric sounds]
Onna/Oris : Yes, it's your scarf, remember it's going to keep you warm. I'm going to lift you up now, wrap your arms around my neck, and hold on tight okay?... Good, ready, 1,2,3, and up!
[Onna/Oris stands up, Listener speaks]
Onna/Oris : Hum? Oh, the nurse… don't worry, she'll be okay
Onna/Oris: [To themselves] But we won't be if they find us with her…
[Hurried footsteps as Onna/Oris rush from the hospital, Listener speaks]
Onna/Oris : Yes my little one, we are going home.
[They go through a door or window, and out into the foggy London dawn]
[Sounds of a busy hospital, people talking, footsteps running around, and a baby crying somewhere. The noise is then muffled after the door to the room is shut, letting the sounds of the room be more in the forefront; Heart monitor and respirator]
Speaker:  [Shakey deep breath] He-hey darling …things are getting a little crazy outside, but look at you, still sleeping away. If I'm being honest, I'm a little jealous . [Nervous Chuckle]
[Speaker slowly walks over and sits on the Listener's bed. Ruffling the sheets and making the bed creak a little]
Speaker:  But that's okay; you just keep dreaming. I don't mind looking after you.  [Pause]  I don't mind waiting with you…
[Speaker begins to brush the Listener's hair]
Speaker:  Your hair has gotten so long; I remember you wanted to cut it for the summer because you knew I liked it when it's short  [Soft Laugh]  under the condition that I grow mine out… [Pause]  I haven't cut it yet, just like I promised. I'm even starting to think I look good in this style. You might be onto something!
[Behind the room's door, muffled, there comes a sound of things crashing or falling, and a lady screams]
Speaker:  [Taking a breath as they try to keep their composure]  I've been trying to take care of those pigeons of yours; they missed you…you know, after the… [Clears throat]  …after the accident.  [Sounding a little hopeful]  But I think they were finally warming up to me; they aren't too bad for rats with wings  [nervous chuckle that goes quiet]  I just haven't seen them in a while; they all just flew off one day… I'm sorry, sweetheart. I guess Hollywood got it right when it comes to animals being the first to leave when things start to go wrong. Some of their nests in the coop had eggs, so I brought them into the house, trying to save them.  [Pause]  You would have done a better job than me…
[Silent beside the hospital room noise and muffled noises behind the door. Outside, the noise is muffled, and an ambulance siren can be heard passing very fast]
Speaker:  I…uhm…I brought you something.
[Rustling of fabric as Speaker pulls something out of their pocket]
Speaker:  Your parents asked me to bring this to you…they wanted to come  [Pause, sounding sad]  They tried, they really tried, sweetheart, but traffic going in and out of the city it's… [Pause]  it's not looking good, I'm sorry. But they wanted me to tell you that they love you and to bring you your old music box.
[Music box is wound up and plays "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"]
Speaker:   [Soft, surprised voice]  Hey, this is from your favorite movie…you only ever made me watch it a thousand times, do you remember-
[Speaker is cut off by an explosion outside that shakes the building, and panic erupts in the hospital, the music box breaks]
Speaker:   [Startled]  Oh Shit…holy Shit!
[Speaker stands up and pulls some curtains closed before walking back, making the chaos noise muffled]
Speaker:   [Trying so hard not to freak out]  It-its fine, everything is just fine…I think uhm… [Notice the music box is broken]  Oh…oh no no no, sweetheart I'm so sorry your music box… [Starts to pick up the broken pieces]  it must have fallen over when the explosion- [Starts to break down]  Shit! I don't know what to do anymore; I'm just so fucking scared! Things just went downhill so fast! And…and fuck!  [Trying to calm down with some deep breaths ] The last thing you ever heard from me was that I never wanted to see you again. Sweetheart, I am so sorry! Me and my fucking drunk mouth! I saw your text the night of the crash, and…God, if I had just responded then…then maybe-  [Cuts themselves off]
[There's a pause for a while, just the muffled chaos noise in the background]
Speaker:   [Calmed down a little]  Who am I kidding? The world would still be ending; the only thing that would be different is this time, we both would be scared shitless…. [Nervous chuckle]  Oh crap, I shouldn't be cursing; I-I know how much you hate it when I do that.
[Speaker sits back on the bed]
Speaker:  I love you, I know you can hear me, and if I could say it forever, I would. I love you. I love you. I love you.
[Fabric and bed shift as Speaker lays down on the bed next to Listener just as air raid sirens turn on]
Speaker:  [Content with what is going to happen]  It's alright, babe; I'm going to be laying right next to you; I'm not going anywhere. Okay?... [softer]  okay. You keep dreaming; I don't mind. I'm going to be dreaming with you soon.  [Speaker kisses Listener]  I love you, I love you, I lov-
[While the Speaker says, "I love you," a nuclear bomb could be heard dropping before exploding. After the explosion ends, the is nothing but silence]
The End
[ Night forest sounds, walking down a forest path ]
Witch: [ To himself ] It’s autumn now...almost time for those mortals to celebrate their harvest festival; you always enjoyed going to those village celebrations. I never understood your love for those magicless fools. It must have hurt you so much to see them turn on you. Your heart was too big for your own good...soon it will beat again.
[ A cat meows, startling the witch ]
Witch: Ah! … oh, hello feline, what is a little beast like you doing all the way out here? Looking for your master? [ The cat meows again ] strange… you want me to follow you, don’t you [ Cat meows, then footsteps walking deeper into the woods ] Slow down! Wait! [ Footsteps quicken ] Wait! [ The witch trips and falls with a thud ] oof….damn cat.
Witch: [ Hears a soft voice calling for help ] What was that? A voice? … there it is again!
Witch: [ Slow footsteps, to himself ] A girl? What is she doing out here? It must be a mortal; only they would do something so idiotic like wandering around the forest at night without a lantern...Damn it! She saw me.
Witch: [ Somewhat cold, but trying to hide it ]… Hello there …
Witch: [ To himself ] Well, isn't she a polite thing… not to mention very trusting, asking a stranger in the woods for help.
Witch: Are you alright, miss? Why are you on the ground?… you can't get back up? Let me see if I can help you. [ Tries to pull her back up, but the girl cries out in pain ] Wait! Hold on; I’m going to set you back down, nice and easy, there … you say your leg hurts? Hmmm …
Witch: [ To Himself ] It’s most definitely broken. Now what? … I could just leave her here and wash my hands of this whole affair.
Witch: Huh? … I’m sorry, what did you say? … That’s your name? Why does it sound familiar … Oh, now I know; Your father is that witch hunter from the city of Sown; I heard he is one of the [ Pause as he starts to realize ] …best, [ Trying to keep a steady voice, but anger is boiling within him ] It's been said that your family tree is filled with nothing but witch hunters. Is that what you are doing here, alone in the woods? Hunting for witches? … No? You aren't a hunter. I suppose I can believe that. You definitely don't look the part…[ Shocked ] What? You-you love magic? [ Laughs ] Well, it seems this little apple fell pretty far from the tree.
Witch: [ To himself ] Did...she just giggled at that? … It sounds, just how yours did, my love…and that smile...it really brings out those eyes of hers- Ah! snap out of it you fool, this is no time to get distracted.
Witch: I hope you don't mind me asking, but what are you doing in the woods this late at night? … You thought you heard someone in trouble? And just didn't have time to grab a lantern, eh?… seems like a great risk, but the thought behind it all was very kind of you…
Witch: [ To himself, with a mixed feeling of bitter and sweet tone ] Yes, very kind indeed…
Witch: Here, I’m going to carry you to my home. I have a few things there that can fix that leg of yours…[ Listener starts to argue ] No, no! I won’t hear it! The village is too far away, and I can’t leave you here for the wolves to find you. It's no problem really; I’m happy to help. Alright, hold onto my shoulders, on the count of three; one, two, three [ Picks the girl up ] There we go! ….you are welcome, we will be there soon, so just hang on.
Witch: [ To himself ] I wonder, girl, was your father the one that wrapped the rope around my beloved’s neck? Was he the one that strung them up in the willow trees and burned our home to ash? If he only knew that his child was being carried away to suffer the same fate he had placed on others...
[ Footsteps through the woods ]
Witch: [ The listener snaps him out of his thoughts ] Hum, what was that? Ah! I’m sorry, I never told you my name, that was very rude of me. I’m Lucas…. Yes, it is nice to meet you as well. What was I doing in the woods? I … uhm … I was just taking a walk. I quite enjoy the autumn air at night….you do as well? … Yes, I know about the harvest festival. Am I going? N-no...Oh, it's not that I don't enjoy going, I used to go all the time with-with someone ... but they aren’t here anymore, so what's the point of going by oneself...Are-are you inviting me to go with you? [ Laughs softly ] No, no, it’s not a dumb question… I think that is a very generous offer, I suppose I will think about it, but right now let's concern ourselves with that leg of yours.
Witch: [ To Himself ] The way she talks about the festival, that...light in her eyes I-I....stop thinking about this stupid human girl... Are you going to betray your beloved? That light in her eyes, she doesn’t deserve it; it doesn’t belong to her. Once the ritual is complete, it will be our beloved in your arms, not this magicless harlot...
[ The footsteps leave the grassy path and turn into a gravel footpath ]
Witch: Ahh, here we are! Welcome to my home
[ Door opens and the two-step into the cozy little cottage. A fire is crackling and stew is bubbling ]
Witch: Here, I’m going to place you on this chair, rest your leg on the footrest [ sets the listener down on the plush chair, and lefts the broken leg up so it could rest on the footrest ] I know, I know it hurts, but I need to lay straight so I can make a splint.
[ The sound of fabric being wrapped around the leg ]
Witch: There, that should do, for now, you must be hungry yes? I thought so, the stew should be ready by now anyways…Please there is no need to apologize, I…I've a bad habit of making too much anyways.
[ The witch goes to the bubbling pot, and begins to fill a wooden bowl for the listener ]
Witch: [ To Himself ] Now, where my lavender nightshade mix
[ The sound of glass being clink together as the witch looks through his dried herbs ]
Witch: [ To Himself ] There you are, not enough to kill, just a little to put her to sleep. I can’t risk her wandering around this cottage…I can’t risk her finding out what I am…there, mix it in the rest of the stew should cancel out the nightshades taste
Witch: Here you my- [ there comes a meow ]
Witch: [ To Himself ] That cat for the forest!? What on earth? How did it get in here?
Witch: [ Listener is petting the cat and it begins to purr ] I-no, that is not my cat, I am not quite sure where that little one even came from…but, it seems to like you very much. [ Hands listener the stew ] here you are my dear, careful now, it hot
[ The listener behind to eat the stew ]
Witch: I am glad you enjoy it, the recipe is not mine I'm afraid that honor belongs to someone far more talented than I, haha. [ Listener tries to stand ] Oh no, please! Stay settled. Here, I’ll take your bowl, you just relax. [ The witch goes over to the indoor water pump and began to wash the bowl ]
Witch: [ To Himself ] Well, well, the herbs are taking effect faster than I thought, her eyes look so..so heavy, it’s oddly adorable…
Witch: You feel tired? That is alright my dear, you had such a long night, just rest [ begins to run his fingers through the listener's hair, and speaks softly ] just go to sleep, it will be silly to fight it, you are safe here I’ll look after you just rest…yes…very good. I will take good care of you, after all, there are only a few more days until the new moon…I can’t lose you until then. [ Dark chuckle ] sleep well.
