Alright guys, I’ve got something to talk about cuz the dream I had last night reminded me of it and made me nostalgic for being a kid
When I was little, around 9-14-ish, I was really, really obsessed with this cute little book series written by the Geronimo Stilton author, the Chronicles of the Kingdom of Fantasy, and as you guys know, I’m very Dutch, so I read all of the books plus the sequel series in Dutch. And let me tell you, it shaped so much of my early teenage years personality and my love for fantasy and I never even dared to talk about that part of my life cuz it seemed “cringe”.
I’ll give a summary of the series here, cuz I don’t really think any of my followers have read it due to it not being translated to their language or just... not knowing it existed.
The Chronicles of the Kingdom of Fantasy (de Kronieken van Fantasia in Dutch and Cronache del Regno Della Fantasia in its original language, which is Italian) is a sweet, Lord of the Rings-escue series about a young elf, Ombroso (which is his Italian name, he’s called Saturno in the Dutch version), a 15-year-old refugee from the Land of the Woodelves who had been stranded in the Land of the Star-elves when he was just four years old after a devastating war in his own country. He has grown up as the adoptive son of astrologist Eridanus, who himself had two kids with his now-deceased wife, Mizram - currently 16-year-old Regulus and 13-year-old Spica.
In an effort to save his people and find the birth parents he can’t remember, Ombroso, after receiving a few items from Eridanus which had been stowed away for years until the boy was ready, travels into the Land of the Woodelves through a magical gate linking the two countries together (it’s a whole thing), taking Regulus with him cuz the power of bros is vast enough to do anything. Spica wanted to come, but apparently misogyny is still a thing in this medieval fantasy kingdom (and she’s. literally 13), so the boys leave her at home.
Pretty scarring shenanigans ensue, Ombroso and Reg find the Land of the Woodelves rotten, overtaken by evil creatures serving the Queen of Witches, who, unbeknownst to them, is currently trying to overtake the entire Kingdom of Fantasy. Ombroso learns his mother, Acacia, died while giving birth to him and his father, a mysterious man named Cuortenace (Sterkhart in Dutch, I honestly don’t know if they reveal his past right away in the first book. Every detail from this has melted together in my brain), hasn’t been seen for years. Few think he’s actually still alive. Ombroso also learns (or remembers, I don’t know) his real name is Audace (Dappart in Dutch) and that the name he usually goes by is just a nickname.
The boys meet Robinia, the former princess of the Woodelves whose older brother had actually sold her and her people to the Queen of Witches for a reason I can’t remember. Probably cuz of money or power. She’s 14 years old and really salty her people are suffering, so she doesn’t really like Ombroso and Regulus, but eventually warms up to them.
In the meantime, Spica also does shenanigans. She does a dreamily lovesick dreaming about Ombroso cuz she like-likes him and decides to go against his wishes and help him, cuz he’s totally lost without her. Girlboss, I actually looked up to Spica so much as a kid. Now I just think, “who let a 13 year old kid do war crimes???”.
She meets Stellarius, a grumpy old Gandalf-y wizard who goes by many names. He had actually come for Ombroso, to guide him through his journey, but takes one look at this kid and decides she probably has more braincells than a 15-year-old boy he’s never met before, so he decides she’ll come with him to the Land of the Woodelves to assist Ombroso in his hero’s journey. He informs her that, before they can go, they first need to do their own little thing and defeat the evil bats that have come through the magical gate into the Land of the Star elves - he enchants Spica’s bow and they go do the murder of bats.
I honestly don’t really... remember what happens next. I know Ombroso gets an enchanted sword and finds out about a prophesy in which a Sword, a Bow, a Goose and a Dragon would defeat the Evil Witch and do things, which is super obvious to everyone, even the main characters. He also meets a Hunter, who calls himself Hunter, cuz he’s a Hunter. I don’t think he’s really that creative as we meet him again later and he changes his name to Knight, cuz he’s... a Knight. Um. Yeah.
Ombroso nearly dies at some point, but don’t worry, he does that a lot. He and his new and old friends get the Land of Woodelves back and Ombroso and Spica, reunited and all, decide to fulfill the prophecy and journey through the realms to find a magic Goose and a Dragon to complete the quartet and defeat the Queen of Witches. Regulus and Robinia join them, same with Stellarius and Robinia’s little pet dragon(?), whose name I unfortunately forgot.
They travel to the kingdom of dwarfs through another magical gate in the second book, where they do a liberation of the people and need to find the next magical gate. Also, Ombroso had this really hot moment in this book which was kinda Little Mona’s first introduction to dominant fictional characters ever, which, um. Yeah. You see where I’m going with this. They also find the Goose in this one, a dwarf girl named Favilla (Spranka in Dutch) who got enchanted into a goose after escaping the Queen of Witches, who thought she was to bring her doom because of another prophesy. They take her with them through the gate!
In the third book, they go to a sorta swamp realm, which isn’t really fun for anyone. This one is my favorite, but apparently I don’t own the book, which absolutely sucks. They also get seperated from Stellarius in this one and for the first time ever, the teens have to rely on themselves. This one has a lot of inner conflict and some character development, mainly for Ombroso and Spica, and completes the prophecy quartet in the form on Codamozza (Halvestaart in Dutch, which means Half-Tail), a locked up Dragon Ombroso frees and befriends. At the end, Spica, Regulus, and Robinia get captured by the evil minions of the Queen of Witches and brought to her, seperating them from from Ombroso, Codamozza and Favilla. I don’t remember what Stellarius is doing, ngl.
The fourth book features the wrap up of the series, in which the prophecy comes to life and this part of the adventure ends. Spica, who is a storyteller and inspires herself and the other captured creatures in the Land of the Witches, gets taken before the Queen and drugged (um, yeah, they drug a 13-year-old. It gets really dark in this part) for them to tell them her stories, I don’t remember why. Robinia and Regulus lead a rebellion and meet up with the Hunter/the Knight and Stellarius, while Ombroso and Favilla go into the castle, where they reunite with Spica (who had been saved by a mysterious woman named Anguilla (Aaltje in Dutch), who Favilla had grown up with and lost contact with. She’s distant, however, and only interested in taking the Queen down.
In the final battle the Hunter/the Knight steps into the scene, breaking into the throneroom through the glass window on Codamozza’s back. He reveals himself to be a Knight of the Old Order of Knights of the Rose and Ombroso’s long lost father, Cuortenace. However, he sacrifices himself to save Spica and gets turned to stone by the Queen.
I don’t remember how, but the quartet defeats the Queen in one last effort to succeed. The kingdom celebrates and Ombroso, upset about the loss of his father, asks the Fairy Queen, the one who had chosen him to defeat the Queen of Witches so many years ago, his patron, to please turn him back to flesh and blood. The Fairy Queen doesn’t have that power however, and tells him he has to go to his father’s place of origin, the abandoned Island of the Knights, to restore it in its honor and place its crest back in its right place. Only then, his father and all the other people who had been turned to stone on the Island itself (cuz that happened but I totally forgot about it) would return to their former selves.
This brings us to the last two books of the series, 5 and 6, which shows how Ombroso, Spica and Codamozza, one year after the events of the final book, travel to the Island of the Knights and restore it in its former glory. It’s a bit weaker than the first four books, but it wraps the series up well enough so almost no loose ends are left around.
It does have a sequel series made up of four books, in which a new set of characters, who are the next generation of Knights from the new order Ombroso had build after the events of the first series. We see some small snippets of the old characters, who are around ten to fifteen years older than they were in the original, but it doesn’t tell us much about what happened to them except from what type of job they did. It’s a fun series, but I really would’ve preferred the older characters to be a bit more inserted into the plot.
As I said before, I read this series as a kid, from when I was around 9, up until I was around 14. The first book had been published in 2008, when I was 5, which - holy shit. That’s 15 years ago. This book is old. I mean, no wonder it meant so much to me as a kid. By the time I had started reading them, the final one had just been released and it was one of my first introductions into my beloved fantasy-hero’s journey type of story.
Ombroso was a great hero for something like this and kinda defied the odds of the usual “chosen ones” in other media. He was a bit broody, shy, couldn’t act well around people for a good portion of his life, and moody, so, so moody. His nickname by the Star Elves had been chosen because he just. Refused to smile as a kid. And it just concerned the other elves he lived with. He had his badass moments, really, and his personality made for a great dynamic with the siblings Regulus and Spica. They were so bubbly, so friendly, and while Ombroso wasn’t actively the voice of reason between them, he was the one who strutted behind them with his hands in his pockets and head in the clouds.
Regulus was more of a voice of reason, in typical older brother behaviour. He and Ombroso had this really sweet understanding with each other, and Ombroso viewed him more as a sibling, while viewing Spica as more of a friend, despite growing up with her. The three of them got along so well and looking back on it as an adult, I just feel so protective over these three. They’re so dear to my heart, partly due to them being so young and due to them being the characters who I’ve literally aged out of after having had them be older than me for years. They go through so much and honestly, if this series had been marketed differently, it would’ve passed as a YA-fantasy series. Don’t tell me I’m wrong, cuz I know I’m not.
When I was a kid, Spica had always been my favorite character, with her being so spunky, a storyteller, and someone who actively stood up for themselves. She had a huge impact on my development as a young teen, but as I got older and reviewed the series having grown past her age, Regulus became much more dear to my heart. He was a bookworm, so, so friendly, if not a bit loud and outspoken, not having a great filter, and he just felt so... real. Like a real older brother, a real 16-17 year old finding his way in the world and growing away from his home, venturing out into the world. His character was always so grounded and as a more reserved older sister to a rambunctious twin brother, I felt so connected to that. Also, he’s a himbo. He’s such a himbo.
I’m not really gonna focus on Robinia, I didn’t really connect with her character a whole lot during the series as she was pushed into the background most often during the main series and just,,, completely cut out of the last books, save for a bit in the start and end of the fifth and sixth respectively.
However, what really kept me into this series, was the way my friends from that time reacted to it. Most of us were little girls with a little too much imagination, and my best friend at the time got just as obsessed with it as I did. We played out the books with playmobile figures, talked about everything in it, made original characters and thought about fanfictions we didn’t even know was fanfiction. We made an oc who was Ombroso and Spica’s daughter, gave them all families, fantasized about all the wacky things they would get into as adults. It was just fun, that’s all I can say about it. I’ve lost contact with that friend, we grew apart, but sometimes I see her give a like to my posts on instagram, which reminds me of the fun we used to have as kids.
When I went into middle school, I had another friend who was into the series. We wrote down fanfiction and I sometimes wrote stories on the playmobile plays me and my other friend had made a year prior. I made a full-fledged character out of the kid we gave Ombroso and Spica, whom I named Acacia. She was one heck of a fun character and I absolutely loved writing about her, her siblings, her love interest, and of course, her parents. In total, over the years, I wrote around 100,000 words of fanfiction for this series. These books shaped me so heavily, but as it was so unknown and the author behind Geronimo Stilton is known for their more... childish stories, I wasn’t taken seriously when I talked about it in school. I remember having done a presentation about the first book in my first year of middle school, totally enthusiastic, and hearing how the Dutch teacher had banned Geronimo Stilton books from being presented from the next year and on. I already was the “weird kid” in my class, ahead on the curve, having a bit too much knowledge for my little brain to contain.
Of course a little fantasy series about elves, dragons, a chosen one who was just as much of an outcast as I was and another character I aspired to be more like was gonna be my escape, but as the years passed and I grew up bit by bit, it felt... strange, to be so invested in something that everyone deemed so childish. At the tender age of 14, you do mostly what others expect of you - so I put the books down, stowed them away in a corner of my room where I still knew they were close and could grab onto them any minute, but still far away enough to not realize they were there.
And now I’m 19. It’s been ten years since I first picked up one of the books. They’re still in that little corner in my room and I feel like I’m finally in a place where I won’t be ashamed or embarrassed if I picked them up again. And really, what harm can it do? What harm can liking a book series made for kids really do me? All it can do, is bring me the joy it brought me when I was a kid myself and take me back to the time where I didn’t have college to worry about, where I had a more functional family, where I didn’t worry about who I would offend if I spoke too loudly or what my place in the world would be as a woman and an artist.
I’m at the point in my life where I no longer cringe at my former self and her interests; in fact, she was probably a lot bolder than me for liking something that was so dear to her heart so openly.
Maybe it’s time I start doing that again.

1. yes!! he’s her brother, and in my story, after the death of their father by the hands of drago they separate, with nikora swaying to the side of the trappers and calder finding a calling in saving trapped dragons. xanthous, his windwalker, is the first dragon he rescued. he was like a vigilante before he joined the riders, not knowing that there were other dragon riding communities out there. nikora is actually more relevant in my story because i think she’s a great character and deserved to be in rtte somehow :)
2. calder and nikora are from the mongrel tribe - which doesn’t have much lore as they are only present in the games, so i made a document on how i perceive the tribe and their practices, so it’s fanmade! his tattoos symbolise boldness and daring. they also match with nikora’s, and form a line across the face if they are joined.
and here is my fanmade snippet about the tattoos:
3. the most interesting part of his lore would be his relationships with nikora, his sister. in the games, she is described as belonging to the “evil” faction which i interpret to be the trappers, drago, and so on. however i feel like she is quite a morally grey person who does things for her own good and her tribe’s good.
since it’s canonically stated that king stormheart (nikora and calder’s father) lost his life to drago bludvist, i took a twist in my writings and stated that it was nikora who planned her father’s assassination with drago. as she was the firstborn and grew up thinking she would be the heir to the throne, calder being promised the title instead proved to be a heavy blow to her as she was largely neglected after his birth. in my story, this caused a lot of jealousy which in turn resulted in the resentment of her brother and her father. when she grew up, she would have very little familial feelings remaining for them, and as drago proposed a new arrangement that could make her queen and give more trading opportunities to her tribe, she took the opportunity even if it meant the death of her father.
but here comes the twist - drago wanted to destroy her village as well, as he knew that she and her tribe would not need him after her father was dead. though their initial arrangements were for drago to assassinate king stormheart and set a few fires around the village to distract the villagers, he ended up burning the village to the ground and desecrating it completely, save for some of the king’s guard who became nikora’s soldiers. so in my story, there is no more mongrel tribe other than calder, nikora and her forces.
calder overheard their plan - and wanted to stop the destruction with newly tamed xanthous, but did not expect drago to go that far. he was caught up in a blaze while trying to save some villagers, causing the scar you see on his right shoulder.
so even though nikora never meant for their entire village to die, calder still thought that she planned it all along and resents her for it.
i think their relationship is interesting because of that. she regretted her actions, but decided to turn to evil once and for all so that calder would not have to bear the burden of her actions.

Another cute GusSiri post (because I have no impulse control);
Siri surprised Gustav with a small, handmade Fanghook plushie a few months after the Dragons had left for the Hidden World. She had spend a while working on it, too, wanting every detail to be just perfect, as she knew how much her friend missed his Dragon. Gustav pretty much sobbed his eyes out at that little gesture and Siri was more than happy to comfort him
They did racing with their Dragons during their teens and when Siri picked up on Astrid's little trick to make Stormfly fly faster by using chicken and started using it with her own Dragon, they started winning against Gustav and Fanghook more and more. Gustav became pretty competitive and kept trying to sabotage Siri (in a non-harmful way) by making her flustered or distracting her. They're both having their fun :')
Siri sometimes talks in her sleep, mainly when she's dreaming or having a nightmare. Gustav absolutely hates it, as she often wakes him up with her mumblings, but after decoding what she's actually saying he starts to think it's pretty funny. Pulling her in for cuddles usually does the trick of making her shut up as well :)
Siri can't pronounce Gustav's name correctly because of her childhood speech difficulties and Norse accent. She, after literally having known him since she was eight, still doesn't know on what syllable to put the emphasis, even tho she tries so hard - she either mispronounces the beginning of his name or lengthens the "-av" part
Since Siri is into flowers, Gustav often gets her the prettiest flowers he can find do decorate her room with. He isn't exactly sure what each flower means, but he does know Hiccup brings Astrid roses a lot, and they are super in love, so hey, than it must be a good way to show love
During Siri's first pregnancy, Gus just got very... Protective and careful with her, panicking over every little pain she had. Siri really enjoyed the attention and care he gave her and secretly took a bit advantage of this - all in good nature and nothing very serious. When Gustav found out she had been doing that, his panic did subside, cuz it was just too damn funny
When Seer was carrying Niv, she of course gained quite a bit of weight and was pretty bothered by it, feeling heavy and not liking looking at her body. While Gustav couldn't really take that away, she did feel comforted by his flustered staring every time she changed into her pajamas

Things I've been thinking about in regards to Siri, GusSiri, Niv, the Dragons, etc that I need to write down and need some input on please I don't know what to do with them
What if Siri helped around a bit as a midwife besides taking care of the littlest kids in the village (read; kindergarten teacher)? Like, it would make sense, she's got a lot of experience with both pregnancy and giving birth and she knows a lot about miscarriages, stillbirths and birth defects. She could be called upon during particular difficult births to help!
Blacksmith apprentice Gustav??? Idk it feels very fitting for baby boi to do that for some reason, apart from being A-Team captain and teaching the next generation like Siri. He feels like a quick learner so he would probably be pretty good at it after starting to get the hang of it, helping Gobber around and being an annoying nuisance 24/7
Funnet needs a new name. I don't make the rules but she does, only i do not have any idea for a name. Siri would probably wanna name her smt really pretty and fitting to her publish purple and golden yellow highlights. Anyone have any ideas?
GusSiri between HTTYD2 and THW is such a mystery to me as of right now. All we canonically know for the Guster is that he overcame puberty and became pretty (plus, like a dragon training prodigy apparently) and that the A-Team still exists. So, I would assume that being pretty and being good at training dragons would get Gustav more friends than he had before, while Siri (if we go by the midwife and teacher idea) is studying more and doesn't have a lot of time for Gustav and his friends' shenanigans. I guess it would kinda drift them apart and leave them missing each other more and more. This would also give a very clear pathway to them realising their crush on the other and to them coming together again to seek for comfort after THW.
Anyways, that's it for now! I'll come back to this post once I know more. Lemme know what you think about these ideas cuz really i have no idea if they're any good lmao

Guys, im in a ✨pickle✨ and I need help to decide smt
So @beebooca and I were talking about GusSiri's kiddos and we kinda came to the conclusion that Helene, their third child and second daughter is just... There.
She doesn't do anything and I don't know anything about her, not like I know about, say, Niv and Sunniva. Those two have likes, dislikes, and most of all, a story. Niv, of course, has Starchaser, and Sunni has a more personal character arc involving her way of processing things and learning how to make friendships.
Helene is a symbol for Niv's return to his family and has honestly never been more than that. I have never been able to connect with her and attach to her like I have with other characters - even with minor characters in Of Thrones and Heirs I've been able to connect with more and she's supposed to be a more center staged character.
However, when I think about removing her, it feels like a betrayal to the symbolism I have brought to the story with putting her birth in the same timeframe as Niv's return. It also feels like hurting Siri by taking her child away from her, even tho they're literally fictional characters - my brain just registers it as hurting someone because they mean so much to me.
So, to all my ✨writing mutuals✨, a question I suppose; if you were, y'know, in this spot, what would you do? Would you keep Helene in the story for the sake of symbolism I could easily replace, or remove her?
Or a secret third option lmao. Idk i just need another person's opinion on this

Okay okay okay I wanna hear all about that next gen thing bc that is crazy dude how did that even happen omg
OH YES alright! This is gonna be another full-on Mona-rants-moment so strap in bestie!
I don’t know exactly when I started thinking about a HTTYD next gen, but it must’ve been somewhere around 2014, after I had watched both movies almost right after each other. Gotta confess, before watching HTTYD1 on a vacation to Germany as a little 10-almost-11-year-old, I thought it was a horror movie. Oops. I thought the same about Shrek, but now I unapologetically adore both of them.
So as little kids, me and my twin brother (let the record state, he’s younger than me. By four minutes. It’s a real thing) were absolutely obsessed with HTTYD. So much, that we would roleplay as dragons and – wheeze – HiccStrid’s potential twin kids. Oh, yeah, we were deep into it. We were so deep. We played out adventures and pretended to fly on our pretend dragons, whom we named Fly Fly and Toe Toe and they were, you are allowed to laugh, the kids of Toothless and a Whispering Death. My brother’s favorite dragons were the Whispering Deaths, and we were great at biology. Nope.
After that whole shabang, we went to middle/high school, my brother grew past his Dragons-phase, I stayed right where I was cuz ofc I did, and after meeting some new friends who were just as much into HTTYD as I was (one of them was the friend who gave my the nickname Mona and helped me with Of Thrones and Heirs!), we kinda created a new next gen based of what we thought was cool lmao. I couldn’t find a lot of information on that on my laptop, since most of it was handwritten or only spoken to each other – and tbh, I’m not really feeling up to checking my chats about it with one of those friends cuz I’m not friends with them anymore. But that’s okay, we have a lot more information for what came next!
I developed the next gen a bit on my own, I remember, still with some influences from the friends I had created the last version with. And for this one I still got a lot of details, so let me grab them for ya.
In this next gen, HiccStrid had five kids. Yeah, they be being busy. Zephyr and Nuffink got added a bit later, after I had seen THW, before that they only had the oc children I created as a lil 14-year-old. They had, in order, Zephyr Stormfly (20 y.o.), Nuffink Toothless (18 y.o.), Alischa Valka (14 y.o., aka, the main character), Stoick Finn (13 y.o.) and Lunette Ansfrid (3 y.o.). Oh yeah, that’s a mouthful.
Next to HiccStrid, back then I also shipped Heather and Fishlegs. Not sure if I still do now, but back then they had the following kids; Helen Windshear (19 y.o., she was Zephyr’s best friend), Fay Heather (16 y.o.), Veena Astrid (16 y.o., she and her twin sister were created by my friend I think), Beril/Hugo Oswald (13 y.o., not sure which of the two names. All I know is that he was Stoick’s bestie).
To the more… complicated part, young me put some drama into this next gen by making a divorce plot. So what I thought was cool (and because I didn’t really like Snotlout back then. Very stupid, he’s the kingest of kings), was the idea that Snotlout and Ruffnut had a son right after THW after a one-night-stand (Thorvald Hookfang, 21 y.o., all I know is that he had a huge crush on Zephyr). After that, they tried to make things work, but they didn’t, and they did a divorce thing. After that, Ruff went with Eret and had twins, Audun Eret (19 y.o., he’s the guy I wrote down as the Gustav of the next gen lmao) and Hialti Ruffnut (19 y.o., I don’t think she had a very good life). Meanwhile, Snotlout had a daughter with Minden, Ylva (13 y.o., she had a crush on Stoick).
Tuffnut had two kids with some chick, Annika Macey (19 y.o., she and Nuffink were in love or something) and Kjell Lloyd (19 y.o., I don’t know shit about him).
For the rest, I only had kids for Dagur and Mala cuz oh yeah they were a thing. Don’t think I really shipped them, but they were fun to include. Their kids were Ingrid Heather (16 y.o., I literally don’t know anything about her), Oswald Dagur (5 y.o.) and Siri Mala (3 y.o., the first Siri! I don’t know anything about her).
So that was that next gen. Alischa was the main character, she later got a whole fledged out story involving Grimmel’s grandkid, Arcum (who she got a crush on ofc, I basically redid the whole “enemies to lovers” thing I loved doing in Of Thrones and Heirs), while trying to prove herself to her overprotective dad Hiccup, finding the Hidden World and the Night Lights in the process. She bonded with Toothless’ daughter, Safire, which would’ve been pretty cute.
That whole thing was pushed aside in favor of Siri in December 2019, unfortunately. While I did try to recreate the next gen several times (I am still figuring out what the actual fuck I wanna do with ships in the original cast and who would have kids and who wouldn’t. All I know is HiccStrid has Zephyr and Nuffink cuz that’s canon and Tuffnut is aroace and the cool uncle. For the rest… man, I don’t know. I love FishLout, I love RuffLegs, I love the idea of Minden and Snotlout, I wanna see Snotlout with a daughter, etc etc. I just don’t know anything lmao), things never really stuck, as I was in the height of creating Siri’s story, and in addition, Niv’s story. Now I primarily wanna think about the next gen cuz I wanna give gussiri’s kids some friends pff
Like, at some point I tried to change up the entire next gen; I paired up Tuffnut and Heather (some weird idea from the friend I’m no longer friends with. I don’t know why), they had four whole kids (Dagny, Kyll, and Lloyd, who were triplets born in 1018, and Oswald Loki Chicken Sverd, yes, who was born in 1028). It was a weird move. I also cut down on Dagur and Mala’s kids, giving them only a daughter, named Hedvig, born in 1022. Zephyr (1018) and Nuffink (1021) still existed, but they no longer had any siblings. Lloyd and Zephyr were in love and it was very cute, and Hedvig and Nuffink had a thing going on.
Next to that, I removed the whole thing with Snotlout, Ruff, Eret and Minden, now Snotlout and Minden only had twins (Vidar and Ylva, born in 1021, Vidar wanted to become a wingmaiden). Eret and Ruff had a son named Sol (1023), which is very weird now, considering one of my best friends is named Sol lmao. Fishlegs had a son from a one-night-stand (Kjott, 1019), and the only reason for that is because the friend I’m no longer friends with didn’t like Fishlegs for his “disgusting” relationship with Meatlug. Glad I’m finally allowing to love this precious boy instead of being forced to go along with their opinions.
At this point, Sunniva and Helene didn’t exist as GusSiri kids, rather being replaced by a daughter named Funnet (1025) and a son named Agnarr (1028, Aggie and Oswald had a cute thing together). Niv did exist! I created him and he never changed, he’s just too much of a baby boy for that.
So yeah, that’s how it all shifted and turned over the years! I hope I can point my vision on trying to point down some good characters to be- WAIT A FUCKING SECOND
OH MY GOD I JUST FORGOT THAT I LITERALLY HAVE A DOCUMENT WITH MORE NEXT GEN STUFF THAT IS FAIRLY RECENT AND INCORPORATES INTO SOME STUFF FROM STARCHASER

Okay so turns out this is from 2021 and luckily for all of us it’s short and to the point so let’s get cracking. HiccStrid only had Zephyr Valka (1018) and Nuffink Stoick (1021), Snotlout had Vidar and Ylva (both 1019, idk who their other parent is), Dagur and Mala had Hedvig (1017), Ruffnut and Fishlegs had Reider Fishlegs (1018), Saga Meatlug (1023), Amund Tuffnut (1025), and Steinar Barf (1028). For the rest, nothing, and honestly, better, I don’t really wanna keep track of so many kids lmao. I’m not a daycare (read: has created a new oc last week)

This was so cute to write fr. Decided to place it in GusSiri's wedding night for the sheer cuteness of such a moment and had fun with it <333
Tell Me A Secret;
'Tell me a secret.' Siri glanced up at her new husband from position against his chest. Oh, how tired she felt when she moved her fingers up his chest, over his jaw, until her palm came to a rest on his cheek.
'Hm-hmm,' Gustav muttered, eyes already closed as he pressed her closer against his body, clearly just as exhausted as she was. 'Yeah, yeah... Um... I've got nothing.'
'You must... Must have something.' Siri pushed herself up a bit, so she was hovering over him. At that sight, Gustav grinned a crooked grin, his cheeks flushed. 'What, is this, like, a wedding-night-secret-exchanger? 'Cuz I'm pretty sure you've literally seen all of me already.'
'O-oh, shut up,' Siri let out a soft laugh, moving one leg over him, straddling his waist. A hint of assertion in her voice, she continued, 'I thought you liked s-secret-sharing, my captain.'
Oh, she had him there. The way he tensed up underneath her was all she needed to know for certain. 'Fine, fine!' he groaned to himself, 'what do you wanna know?'
'Something y-you've never told me before,' Siri smiled, leaning a bit closer to him. 'I'll tell you something too.'
Gustav thought for a moment, moving his hands to his new wife's legs - Siri felt a shiver going through her as he glanced up at her again. 'Did you know I had a crush on Astrid?'
A frown appeared on Siri's face as she sat up a bit more straight. 'I-I didn't. Did- I-I had seen you look at her, b-but I never thought-'
Gustav laughed nervously, nodding slowly. 'Yeah, yeah. You should've seen me, babe! I was a mess. And I thought I was so cool! I mean, I was. Was I?'
'You should ask Astrid that. I-I- wait, i-is that why she was so weird when I-I told her w-we were courting? B-because she-'
'Because she had flashbacks, oh, yeah,' Gustav nodded, tightening his grip on her legs. His cheeks were completely red, clearly embarrassed by those memories. 'Sorry, that was stupid. Shouldn't have told you I had a crush on your cousin as a teen-'
'O-oh, shut up, it's fine,' Siri chuckled softly, before leaning back in and nuzzling herself into his arms. 'D-don't be worried over something like that.'
Gustav nodded - Siri felt how he pressed a light kiss into her hair. 'Sure. Um, thank you. Now... Can you tell me a secret?'
Smiling, Siri nodded, cuddling against him in utter bliss.
This was going to be a long night.

So ever since I handed in my portfolio for the first part of this semester, I have been playing the Sims with one goal in mind. Wait, no, two;
The first is to procrastinate the work I have to do for my grading in one and a half weeks.
The second is to create the perfect Niv from GusSiri's combined DNA (which sounds weird lmao)
So far;
I tried to start building a house for them but got distracted by the gallery. So I just picked a cute gallery house and redecorated it
Created GusSiri!! They look absolutely adorable together but for some reason they keep forgetting each other's name
Siri has developed bad vision??? So she wears glasses, which is funny cuz in her canon story she's an archer and has really good eyesight
Gustav became an introvert somehow. Um. Idk how that happened?? But he is a freelance writer which is funny. He's really following in his hero Snotlout's footsteps
On that. I keep having him write books on his adoration for Snotlout. It's very funny to me lmao
Siri is a babysitter and had a promotion after the first day!! And it means she has more time to do romance things >:)
GusSiri are going very slow but they are vibing so hard. The bed bugged and now one keeps sleeping on the couch
GusSiri eloped lmao. They're married AND IT'S NIV TIME!!!
I just realised the house may be a bit small for a family lmao but i am too lazy to fix it rn

A little writing practise I did yesterday at 11 pm. I wasn't really sure how to put the idea of texting each other down in a way it still feels natural, but doesn't slow down the plot. I kinda think I did a good job for once :)
This is for GusSiri's modern au during the time period where Siri is about a month away from finishing high school and Gustav is just,,, fucking around in college doing who knows what haha. Have fun!

S: I got full marks on my biology test. Mrs. Haddock gave me a sticker because she thinks I worked so hard.

S: Did you know red carnations symbolize affection?

S: I found it online.

S: I thought you would like it, you told me once you like carnations.

S: Can I send you some? I don't know if they'll come through okay with the post, but I'm willing to try!

Siri took a deep breath and put her phone away - this was no use. She had scrolled through her past messages with Gustav Larson for what seemed like hours, and none of them had been answered.
Not a single one.
She didn't know what had happened between the two of them. One moment, he was texting her what felt like every other minute, sending her pictures of his homework, his dog Fanghook, or things in stores he wished he could buy but didn't have the money for - the next moment, nothing. Only unread messages.
Of course, he must be busy, Siri knew he probably was. He was in college, following classes to get a degree in teaching. He was probably making new friends, going out with them, getting drinks and probably not needing her anymore.
After all, she was still in high school, all alone. She had her friend Adelaide Jorgenson, sure, but all her other friends had already left to pursue a carreer. And now, even Gustav had forgotten about her.
She grabbed her phone again, her fingers trembling as she tried again.
S: How's Fanghook? He must be so lonely, now that you're studying so much.
Unread.
S: To be honest… I feel lonely too.
Unread.
S: I miss you.
Unread.
S: Gustav, I miss you. Can you please text me back?
Unread.
S: It's okay if you can't.
Unread.
S: I'm sorry if I've done something wrong.
Unread.
S: Or said.
Unread.
S: Just please text me back.
Read.
Siri's eyes widened as the two marks in the corner of her message turned blue; she leaned back against her pillows as Gustav started typing.
G: Im so sorry! Roommate hid my phone for a joke, couldn't find it for days.
Her heart jumped.
S: It's okay, I was just worried.
G: Can I make it up to you?
S: No, you don't have to, it wasn't your fault.
G: Yeah no, if you miss me I definitely gotta make it up to you. Of course, everyone must miss me so much, I was so legendary in high school.
Siri chuckled, slowly calming down as she typed a response. Oh, how she had missed his little remarks.
S: They don't talk about you anymore :'). But… I do miss you. Quite a lot.
G: Wanna go get ice cream or something when you get outta class tomorrow? I've borrowed this sick scooter from a friend, I'll come pick you up.
Oh. A strange whirl went through Siri's stomach; her heart felt really light.
S: That sounds a bit like a date, Gustav. Isn't that girl you had eyes for gonna be jealous?
G: Nope, turns out she already had a boyfriend. So there is no-one to worry about.
Relieve washed over her; her shoulders relaxed at his message. However, her racing heart kept beating, and her hands suddenly typed on their own.
S: Do you want this to be a date?
G: Um.
G: Maybe a little. Not gonna lie, you're cute. And you've always been nice to me even tho I'm sometimes kinda an idiot ;).
Butterflies, that's what they were. They were twirling in Siri's belly as her gaze was glued to her phone screen. Her hands trembled at every word they texted to each other.
S: I kinda want this to be a date too.
G: You do?
S: Yeah. I think so.
G: So I guess we've got a date ;))). Anywhere you wanna go?
S: The movies? They're showing Titanic again.
G: Sounds good to me. I'm gonna hog the popcorn, be prepared >:). And!! Pleasepleaseplease put on a thin dress or something. I wanna offer you my sweater.
Siri couldn't help but laugh softly, casting a quick glance to her wardrobe. A sundress may be best suited for his little request and oh, how she adored the detail.
S: I will! Can we make dinner at your dorm after the movie?
G: Yep, I'll just bully my roommate out. And afterwards I'll take you home nice and save.
S: I'll see you tomorrow, can't wait :).
G: See ya, can't wait either.
G: And Seer.
G: I miss you too <3.
A smile overtook Siri; there was nothing that could describe that special feeling she felt when he said that.
S: <3.
She closed her phone, putting it down beside her. Her heart racing, she slid further down onto her bed as she started up at the ceiling. Oh, this would be perfect.
This would be absolutely perfect.

Time for Siri lore! Warning: talk about miscarriages and stillbirths/death. This is mainly just a post to get the bean's lore all straight for myself cuz i tend to forget her lore lmao
In the 14 years between having Niv and having Helene, our lovely bean Siri went through some shit. And if I say she had a shitty time, she really had a shitty time. So, here we have a little timeline of all the shitty things that happened to her in those long, long 14 years.
April 1023: her baby boy, little Niv, stopped breathing two hours after his birth and she was forced to say goodbye to him - without the knowledge he hadn't actually passed, he just had really bad lungs. From this followed a very, very bad depression; she lost a lot of weight just by. Not eating, and didn't really talk for months on end. She just wasn't there mentally. Next to that, her mother and grandmother finally had the courage to tell her childloss and miscarriages were very... Common in their family.
July 1023: Siri's father, Felix, passed away after a fire in his bakery. Even if her father was kind of a dick, Siri loved him deeply and was so upset he'd never see her or her sister have the life he had wanted for them, or that he had spend his final months sharing the agony of his lost grandson. Even more so, Siri's sister, Lilja, now had to grow up quicker than anyone had liked, being forced to take over the bakery without any formal training. Siri and Gustav often tried to help, but there was only so much they could do, which broke Siri's heart.
January 1024: during her depression, Siri had accidentally gotten pregnant again, in September the year prior, only six months after having lost Niv. She was, no surprise, devastated, stressed, not wanting to go through that whole thing again out of fear of losing another baby. Unfortunately, things went wrong from the very start. She was forced to go on bedrest after fainting during a party in the Great Hall, with as little visitors as possible as to not plague her stressed-ridden mind. That only worsened her situation, and after five long and painful months, her stillborn son was born. She and Gustav named him Konrad, after Siri's late grandfather, both grieving, even though Siri had been saying something would go wrong from the very beginning. They still had some hope.
February 1026: After a short pregnancy of just three months, Siri suffered a miscarriage. Before that, she hadn't even been able to get pregnant, despite trying and trying. This time, everything had felt right, or at least, better than with little Konrad. However, after just a month of finding out about the kiddo, Siri just collapsed one evening after dinner, no warning whatsoever. Dress stained in blood, crying as she realised what had happened. She had wanted this little baby so badly - she couldn't understand why this kept happening to her. After this, she had Gustav promise to keep the loss of their baby a secret, but things eventually got out. No-one told GusSiri that, though, not wanting to saddle mainly Siri with more grief than she was already suffering. However, Siri's silent anger was growing at this point - she just didn't know why she couldn't have her own healthy baby, and some families had more than they could count on both hands. She started noticing the whispers from people in the village, heard voices say her marriage had failed after so many years without kids - they didn't know how hard she tried, how careful she was, how in love with every baby she had lost she still was.
July 1026: Siri suffered another miscarriage and despite not having realised she had been pregnant before this, she did recognise the pains, the type of blood, and the way her body basically rejected her little baby. At this point, she actively avoided being intimate with her hubby, cuz it just felt like every time they did smt like that, would just result in heartache. At this point, she was just completely done, not even trying to hide her pain and exhausting - it actively made her snap more than she liked to admit. Deep inside, she felt useless; why couldn't she do what everyone else seemed to could? A few months after this, she finally broke. She couldn't do it anymore, wouldn't even try. She and Gustav wouldn't try for a family anymore, as it would spare them a whole lot of heartbreak and time.
August 1027: despite having said they wouldn't try anymore, Siri got pregnant again in December. This time, however, everything seemed to be going alright. Despite the usual morning sickness and occasional discomfort, her baby grew well enough, and in August, Seer finally had the baby she had longed for; her daughter, Sunniva. After this, she slowly, but surely, got herself back. She was happier, always seen with her little girl in a sling around her chest. Her marriage got a boost too, having seemingly returned to that playful type of love she and Gustav had been missing for a while - the two of them weren't often seen without one another, either holding hands or talking joyfully about everything and nothing.
December 1030: however, things eventually did crash again. After having decided Sunni needed a little sibling and a seemingly healthy pregnancy, Siri went into labor and everything took a turn for the worst scenario; her little one was turned and didn't want to budge. By this point, after more physical pain than she had ever been in, Siri was nearing losing conscious and the healers had to let poor Gustav make a decision if he wanted to safe their kid or his wife. In a utter panic and stress, he just decided he wanted Seer to be okay, for their three year old daughter, and also a little bit for himself. After procedure and after learning what had happened to her precious little baby when waking up, Siri absolutely broke. At first, she blamed Gustav for their kid's death, but after calming down, she realised he had only done it because he didn't want to lose her, nor wanted Sunni to grow up without her mother. Still, things hurt her more than she liked to admit. That poor girl.
Between 1034 and 1039: Siri's mom, Elisabeth, got sick. Very sick. Siri became her primary caregiver, despite having a young daughter to care for. Her sister, Lilja, was off being a sailor at that point, and as the only close family member, the task fell to Siri. While tired most often, Siri stayed positive; the healers had told her her mom would be okay, and she liked to believe that - she did believe it. Eventually, Elisabeth got better again, but soon fell back into the illness, until it eventually killed her in 1039. In the last few months, Lilja stayed home in New Berk with her daughters and husband to help Siri take care of their mother, and after her passing, they pulled each other through it.
May-June 1037: Niv, Siri's long lost son, returns, making her happier than she had ever been. During this, she was also expecting her final child, who would be born in June, little Helene. Everything was falling into place for Siri; her little family was all complete, after all those years. Suddenly, it all seemed worth it for our poor girl.
