This structure, located on East Bethune, between Woodward and John R, is all that remains of the then-Hamlin Avenue Police Station, designed by Louis Kamper. Built in 1898, it served as headquarters of the 9th Precinct - this building housed the Mounted Division. Unfortunately, when the 9th Precinct closed in 1954, the main building was subsequently demolished. The Mounted Division stayed behind. The old stables have been on the market for several years. #Detroit #NorthEndDetroit #Chateau #FrenchRenaissanceRevival #VictorianArchitecture #LouisKamper #archi_ologie #deserve2preserve #BrickStory #RawDetroit #PureMichigan #PureMittigan #MotorCityShooters #PureDetroit313 #DepictTheD #VisitDetroit #Michiganders #ThisPlaceMatters #ThisPlaceMattersDetroit #MichiganPlacesMatter #SavingPlaces (at North End) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cqnc660OlgZ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Millington station in the #Millington section of Long Hill Township, #NewJersey. The station is of stone-masonry construction with Richardsonian elements built in 1901 by the Delaware, Lackawanna, and Western Railroad. Today, it houses the Millington Station Cafe. In 1984, it was listed in the New Jersey Register of Historic Places and @nationalregisternps as part of the Operating Passenger #Railroad Stations Thematic Resource. The station also once handled freight for local industries and the Millington Quarry. #nj #njhistory #SpreadTheHistory #historygirl #history #travelblog #travelblogger #blogger #blog #history #ushistory #history #americanhistory #explorenj #njspots #jerseycollective #journeythroughjersey #architecture #archi_ologie #morriscountynj #millingtonnj #longhillnj #nrhp #trainstation #trains_worldwide (at Millington, New Jersey) https://www.instagram.com/p/CNEC4EGDCoU/?igshid=8yogf4bds2kh

#AmericanCastles Repost from @americancastles • Well, look at this beauty I was tagged in this week! #featurefriday this week is this amazing Second Empire from @donald_boerger. I love a good over the top design. Thanks for tagging me! ---------------------------- For #mansardroof Mondays! The Riverside Historic District features homes built by Evansville‘s founding fathers. The homes represent a variety of architecture styles including Italianate, Colonial Revival and Renaissance Revival. The district is one block from the Ohio River. The large street trees and brick streets will lead you to a time capsule of architecture frozen in time. Wakins F. Nesbit, a local dry goods merchant, built this 3-story brick Second Empire Style residence for his wife, 8 of his 10 children and 3 servants in 1878-79. The magnificent home and all of its glory was built by the Reid Brothers local architects. #old #oldhomes #oldhomelove #homedecor #mansory #mansardmonday #secondempire #travel #homestyling #historichomes #thisplacematters #architecture #architecturelovers #archi_ologie #house #houselove #pretty_shotz #pretty #homesofinstagram #homesofinsta #indiana #americancastlesff https://www.instagram.com/p/CRZEc8JsBdHm7ng3VJxr4yHh-4tVQZSzTXREq80/?utm_medium=tumblr

A hallmark of Nettleton & Kahn's domestic work were the elaborately carved porticos, which can be found on several homes throughout the area. The Headley residence is my favorite of these designs. #Detroit #NorthEndDetroit #JacobeanRevival #RenaissanceRevival #EnglishArchitecture #AlbertKahn #GeorgeWNettleton #NettletonandKahn #archi_ologie #oldhouselove #casasecasarios #houses_ofthe_world #beautifulhousesoldandnew #TheAmericanHome #houseportrait #BrickStory #RawDetroit #PureMichigan #PureMittigan #MotorCityShooters #PureDetroit313 #DepictTheD #VisitDetroit #Michiganders #ThisPlaceMatters #ThisPlaceMattersDetroit #MichiganPlacesMatter (at North End) https://www.instagram.com/p/CosTpwsvN9O/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

The Amparo Avila house along Eaton Street in Key West, Florida. It was built back in the late 1800s and is an example of a "conch house," a style of architecture that was developed in Key West by Bahamian immigrants. #conchhouse #keywest #keywesthomes #keywestlife #mysouthernliving #archi_ologie #florida #floridakeys #keywestarchitecture (at Key West, Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/ChgL94ZLr7Z/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

The Peter D. Smith House at Waterloo Village in Byram, #NewJersey. Built in 1874, this massive three-story home features a fourth floor cupola, four chimneys, and two projecting bay windows on the first floor. It was built by Peter D. Smith, son of Peter Smith. Born in 1845, Peter D. worked in the family store and mills at Waterloo, along the Morris Canal. In 1874, Peter and his brother Seymour bought the store and mills from their brother Samuel. The two brothers successfully continued the family businesses until they were sold in 1897. #nj #njhistory #SpreadTheHistory #historygirl #history #travelblog #travelblogger #blogger #blog #history #ushistory #americanhistory #explorenj #njspots #jerseycollective #journeythroughjersey #architecture #archi_ologie #waterloo #waterloovillage #byram #byramnj #mansardmonday (at Waterloo Village, New Jersey) https://www.instagram.com/p/CSCmCSfrElZ/?utm_medium=tumblr
