Riverstar's Home cats! Small spoiler warning for light discussion of the cats below the cut.

First up is a few redesigns of Dart, Shine, and Flutter because now they aren't just featureless characters that are mentioned once and never again. I really liked Dart's design, so I kept it mostly the same. Shine got a good change, and Flutter had a complete overhaul. I liked Arc's design the way it is, so I didn't change it. The Cats of the Park elders are next, with Owl, Rust, and Midge. Owl's daughter is Finch Song, she's in the next post. After them is a few more CotP, with Magda, Squirrel, Stoat, and Moth. Moth is described as both "soft-spoken" and "cheerful, sparkled with energy", which I thought was a bit strange. Up next is Mist, Night's brother, and Hawk, a rogue who bullies River Ripple and then disappears. I was pleasantly surprised when Mist stayed alive the whole book, he seemed like the perfect candidate to just die at some point. He and Night look very similar. After them is Hollow and Croak, two loners from proto-Riverclan that officially joined. I love Croak's name. And finally after them is four loners from proto-Riverclan that did not end up joining; Whistle, Silver, Sage, and Woodlouse. It was mentioned that Silver was the first one to start decorating the dens with shells and reeds (probably) and other stuff like that, so I gave her an accessory bc if she likes to decorate dens then she would probably like to decorate herself. Found out a little too late that a 'woodlouse' is a roly-poly/pill bug.

Arc 9 Reveal - Changing Skies

According to information posted to Barnes & Nobel's website, the 9th arc of Warriors will be titled Changing Skies. No news on the first book's name yet, however.

Coming January 2025.

She has a solid red halo behind her head, and it's dripping like blood. Behind her and Hawkfrost is a dark purple forest of dead trees. Six paws claw upwards towards StarClan. Where the two sides connect are clouds and dripping blood.

Just thinking of having more Sadboy Infection Enthusiasts around has me out marking the border. 3 patrols a day is not enough, we need to start battle training

Honey and Shell are right.

Nightheart was allowed to act out MUCH more strongly and harshly than any other warrior

Squilf herself as deputy was trying her best to help him reconnect to their family, when he was angrily pushing them all away

He interrupted his own name ceremony and was given a new one, no consequence

Was given a huge opportunity to go on a mission to get lifesaving medicine, BECAUSE of Jayfeather, Alderheart, and Squilf, his family. Didn't appreciate this.

Ran away to ShadowClan, and then came back, no consequence again because his family missed him.

Left AGAIN with a StarClan Permission Slip to help Frostpaw, came back, no consequence for vanishing. Even Sunbeam doesn't resent this.

He does get away with shit because he's a descendant of Firestar, he's part of the family that leads ThunderClan. This all would have been treated much more harshly, and he wouldn't have gotten so many opportunities, if these people WEREN'T his family.

And now he's gotten an apprentice before Shell and Honey for it!

This ISN'T "building his own legacy." It IS nepotism.

Even the next handful of cats who get apprentices-- Bayshine, his best friend who he was basically raised with and aids him constantly, just this morning lying to cover Sunbeam, AND Finchlight, sister. Molewhisker is a random senior mentor so they're not ALL completely brand new.

TERRIBLE conclusion to Nightheart's character arc, this execution has earned a fierce, flaming F + See Me After Class

#asc spoilers #MEGA disappointing because I LIKE Nightheart a lot actually!! #I STILL do. He deserved a better arc than this. #Nepotism and the POSITIVE legacy of Firestar is an interesting theme and idea! #I think it fits WC very well and my biggest complaint is that there were female characters who should have had it sooner #Or even concurrently #I LIKE impulsive young adults who make dumb and emotional descisions #But like. This is a horrible conclusion #Aughhhh
