Ever since I learned that Neteyam was also checking out Tsireya, I can only think about one thing as an Aonunete shipper:
Neteyam (and Lo'ak) had eyes for Tsireya, found her beautiful, and thought maybe the reef wouldn't be such a bad place to live (as described in the script that was released) until Ao'nung had to go and ruin it 😂
But as they all start to get to know each other, Neteyam realizes that Lo'ak doesn't just have a crush on Tsireya. It goes much deeper than that. The boy is head over heels. Neteyam doesn't do anything to stop this and is content with just having Tsireya as a friend (and oh my gosh, I love their friendship, I cherish it so much).
Then, Neteyam realizes why he's content with just being Tsireya's friend... because he's hit with a ton of bricks at the realization that he's got it bad for her brother.
I just find it funny. Ao'nung is likely used to everyone liking his sister more because she's beautiful and so kind.
I guess that's also pretty angsty if you take the trope "I liked your sister first, but I swear I'm not settling for you. You are more than I could ever hope for."

I really contemplated if I want to ruin that pure, intimate Dream Hunt fanfic and I've made a conclusion. Yes. Yes, i want.
~ AO'NUNG X NETEYAM ~
Dream Hunt pt. 2
part 1

includes: spicy content, sex, anal, gay shit, skipping foreplay (don't try at home), mating ritual, dom!Ao'nung, sub!Neteyam, aged up, honeymoon, biting, Ronal and Neytiri being scary moms
NSFW, MINORS DNI, 18+
3.5k words
----------------------------
Neteyam woke up when the sun was already shining, he was cuddling with Ao'nung, still connected through their queues. Ao'nung was already awake for a good while, his hands gently caressed his mate. The gentle touches all across Neteyam's skin made him cuddle himself tighter against the other, rubbing his face at his lover's chest.
He yawned with closed eyes, still holding onto his partner.
A few kisses were spread across Neteyam's head. "Don't wake me up from this beautiful dream..." he whispered while Ao'nungs arms held him carefully so he couldn't glide off his body.
Neteyam heard him chuckle quietly, the sound of his voice sent vibrations all through his chest. The waves lapped against the sand in the distance, a sound that Ao'nung had known all his life and yet it had never sounded more beautiful than this morning.
"And what if this is not a dream?" he asked while his blue eyes observed the other male slumbering on top of his body in piece.
Neteyam didn't dare to open his eyes yet. He was too frightened that he was all alone if he did so, that his mind played tricks on him. What if all of this was just fabricated in his brain?
"I promise, ma 'teyam, if you open your eyes, I will still be here with you. I'm not gonna leave you."
Instead of answering he simply let his hands roam over his shoulders and his neck. His slim fingers traced across his skin as softly as he could, inhaling Ao'nungs scent deeply before his hands sank into his black curls.
He prayed to eywa that his mate would still be with him, so he took a deep breath before his eyes slowly opened, meeting the other's blue ones. A relieved huff left Neteyam's lips as he saw Ao'nungs face right in front of his. He could feel him, hear him, smell him, see him.
"Told you so." Ao'nung whispered before one of his hands tucked a few dangling braids behind Neteyam's ear to watch his widening smile.
"My son, are you two coming? Everybody's waiting for you. The ritual will start soon." Tonowari's voice appeared from outside of the marui. Neteyam quickly tried to roll off his mate, his cheeks turned dark violet, but Ao'nung held him in place with a reassuring look in his eyes.
"Give us a bit of time, father, we'll be there soon."
Neteyam was confused. How did Tonowari know about his presence? Ao'nung just huffed at his mate's expression.
"What, did you think that it wasn't obvious that only the two of us are probably missing?"
As Neteyam turned his head to the side, he discovered the olo'eyktan walking by his son's marui. He did not look disgusted to see them like this; a relieved smile decorated his visage to see them so close to each other. His expression only grew as he saw that Neteyam's queue was still connected to his son's one. He nodded approvingly before he left them to themselves again.
"You're not ashamed of me?" Neteyam mumbled while he inspected Ao'nungs new markings in the sunlight. In the dark they were rather hard to see but now he got to see them in their full glory.
"Why would I? I have the most wonderful mate of them all. Nobody compares to you, ma 'teyam."
Ao'nungs sat up, still keeping his mate on his lap.
"Let everyone see, for eywas sake, I don't care. You're mine now, officially."
"I have always been yours", Neteyam corrected his mate with a shy smile, "I was just scared of your family's reaction." His arms tangled around Ao'nungs neck.
"What about your family?" he asked, "Do they approve? My sister knows about us, so Lo'ak probably does too. What about your parents?"
Neteyam sighed at the thought of what. He had never told his parents but they surely knew. Some times already Jake had reached out to his son when they where alone, offering him a shoulder to cry at if there was something he needed to share.
"They haven't said anything yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if they knew."
"Then let's go and show them. I mean, they should be happy for you. You caught youself the most handsome metkayina and also the future olo'eyktan. What more could they asked for?"
Ah, there is was again. Ao'nung the way he met him. With his sly grin and cocky attitude. The man he fell in love with.
"Hmm, a woman?" Neteyam giggled while Ao'nung showered his neck with sweet kisses.
"You know I'm better than any woman."
He only needed a few skilled movements to pin Neteyam against the floor, making him gasp in surprise as his mate crossed his wrists above his head, holding them down gently. He couldn't help but blush at his mate's actions.
"Only I can give the love you deserve, and only I can please you-"
"Ao'nung!" Neteyam hissed while he blushed madly, followed by a few shy giggles. He knew his partner was jealous. Possessive even, but that was also an aspect he had fallen in love with.
"I'm just saying you're in the most capable hands!" Ao'nung laughed, letting go of his mate's wrists slowly to let his fingers roam all over Neteyams body.
Neteyam closed his eyes and relaxed at the lovely touches he yearned for.
They stayed like this for a little longer. Ao'nung knelt in between his mate's legs, covering his entire body with sweet touches and kisses until he heared his father call him out again.
"Ma' Ao'nung, we should go."
"Hey, this is my ceremony. What are they gonna do, start without me?"
He clawed his hand around one of Neteyam's thighs carefully and continued to give his mate all the love and attention that he deserved. While his lips grazed over the dark blue skin of his shoulder, they heard their mothers call them out by their full names.
"Oh fuck."
~~~
Neteyam panted heavily as Aonung pushed him back against the marui floor. He couldn't help but arch his back in pleasure as Ao'nung kissed his way down his body while holding his slim waist with one arm.
"I've been waiting for this for years" he mumbled in between the kisses he showered his mate with. His lips ghosted over his chest, his shoulders, his ribcage and down his stomach. With his free hand he spread Neteyam's legs further, letting his face sink into the soft flesh of his mate's inner thigh.
"We've been boing this since forever?" Neteyam's voice was barely just a breath, but Ao'nung couldn't help but grin at his remark.
"Yes, but now you're my mate." With that he continued to spread more kisses across his delicate skin.
Neteyam's eyes fell shut and he bit his lower lip, but that didn't stop him from jerking and whimpering at these touches all across his body.
"No, keep your eyes open." Ao'nung demanded as he saw now the other male gave in to the pleasure.
"I want you to see what I'm gonna do to you, ma 'teyam"
He nipped at the soft skin of Neteyam's thighs, making sure he left his marks all across the soft skin.
All these years he held himself back from marking his lover so he wouldn't get into trouble, but now that everyone knew he could finally do what he had yearned for so long.
His fangs sank into Neteyam's thighs while he sucked his skin in, trying not to hurt his precious mate too much. It did sting, but eywa, did he enjoy how Ao'nung showed his love and obsession.
He couldn't stop himself from whimpering as he watched how his lover's face sunk into the space between his legs which Ao'nung now held open for him with both hands.
Neteyam raked one of his hands into Ao'nungs curls while his other hand clasped around his open mouth to muffle his own sounds.
The future olo'eyktan pulled back from his lover's thigh to take a good look at his masterpiece. He observed it with a proud, satisfied smile.
Neteyam's hips bucked up from the floor of Ao'nungs marui as he felt his breath dangerously close to his loincloth.
"Ma 'teyam, are you enjoying yourself?" he asked as he caught his mate touching himself with the hand that had until then rested in his long black curls.
Instead of answering, Neteyam only nodded eagerly. He knew that Ao'nung disliked it. This was his body to ruin. It was him alone that would make Neteyam whine and cry. Only his actions were supposed to make him feel good tonight.
He pushed his lover's hand away with a groan and untied his loincloth before Neteyam could say anything. As soon as his clothes slipped off his body, Aonung licked his lips eagerly at the sight.
"You've never looked prettier, ma 'teyam" he growled in a low voice, letting his lust-filled eyes take in every inch of his partner.
He couldn't help but chuckle as he noticed how much the man beneath him was actually blushing.
Ao'nungs hands gently massaged his thighs, spreading them even wider.
"You look so delicious..." he breathed out in adoration before he started spreading more kisses all over his mate's abdomen.
Neteyam did not want to wait much longer. He was still afraid that all of this was unreal. What if he would wake up from this most wonderful dream any second? He needed to feel Ao'nung, now.
"Make me yours, Ao'nung, please" he begged, pulling his lover on top of him.
Ao'nung couldn't hide his wide leering smile as he watched Neteyam wind underneath him. He was pleading for his touch with every fiber of his body.
Neteyam had never been this eager. Yes, he begged for him every time they were at it, but the look in his eyes was different than usual. He needed him, right now and more than ever.
"I thought you'd appreciate me taking my time?" Ao'nung snickered, but Neteyam only wrapped his legs around his hips.
"I don't want to wait- just, please..."
"Please what, ma 'Teyam?"
He quickly decided to take actions into his own hands and pushed Ao'nung back, seating himself on his lap, grinding his hips against him.
"I need you..." Neteyam whined as he hid his blushing face in the crook of his mate's neck. "Fill me up, ma 'Aonung..." he cried while his shaky hands helplessly tried to untie his partners loincloth as well.
Ao'nung just leant back and watched his needy partner do whatever he was trying to do with a curious gaze. As soon as the bit of clothing he wore was out of the way, Neteyam rolled his hips against his mate harder.
While going so, he licked two of his fingers, coated them with his saliva and reached behind him to pre-stretch himself, but only for a few seconds before Ao'nung clicked his tongue and held his arm still.
"Remember rule number two? Only I get to touch you. Not even you are allowed to."
Neteyam's whines got louder and much more frustrated, even more as the other male started to pinch his nipples, rolling them gently between two fingers. No, he needed the most of him. He was sure that only this could prove him that all of this was more than just a dream. He needed the pain.
"Please, Ao'nung, please take me!" Once more he tried to reach out behind him to spread his buttcheeks to seat himself on Ao'nungs already hard length.
"I will, by eywa, since when are you this hasty? Do my new markings turn you on so much?" he asked with a wide grin as he let his nipples go to hold Neteyam's arms.
"Just- use me, right now!"
Ao'nung wondered why is partner was so eager all of a sudden. Usually he would patiently wait for his partner to touch him for a good while before stretching him out, but today something was different. Soon it clicked in his head, he just knew Neteyam too well.
"I'm right here, ma 'teyam. I'm not gonna leave you alone. You're not dreaming."
It was good to hear it, but he needed to feel him. Ao'nung spit into his hand before reaching down between Neteyam's legs, spreading his saliva all around his hole, making his partner grind against his touch, even more so as he slipped a finger in.
"N-no, just- just fuck me, right now, please! I need to feel it! Need to feel that this is not a dream!"
Ao'nung furrowed his brows in concern and doubt while he teased his mate's tight hole that sucked his finger in so well. "I don't mean to brag, my love, but I'm pretty big, you know that. Let me prepare you-"
"No, don't! Just fucking take me! Use me, Ao'nung! I need that!"
A sigh escaped Ao'nungs lips at the words of his mate. "I'd rip you apart."
"I've been shot already, it can't be that bad! So please, Ao'nung, fill me up!"
Ao'nung shook his head in disbelief.
"I can tell you how this will end; You'll pass out after 5 seconds and I'll have to go to my mother to ask her if she has any cure for your torn ass. I really don't look forward to that conversation."
But Neteyam didn't listen, he slipped away from Ao'nungs curling and scissoring fingers before he lowered his head to spit onto Ao'nungs shaft. He lined up his mate's length with his wet entrance before he forced himself down onto his manhood, crying in pain. His nails dug into Ao'nungs shoulders fiercely, as his eyes started to water, his legs trembled and cramped and even Ao'nung couldn't help but hiss and moan.
"Fuck, ma 'teyam, it's too tight!"
He cursed, but Neteyam himself couldn't help but cry and whine from the immense pain. Ao'nung stretched him open like never before and due to his own body weight, he reached as deep as possible, already hitting a sensitive bundle of nerves deep inside the darker skinned male.
Neteyam bit into Ao'nungs shoulder while salty tears streamed down his face. The pain filled his entire body just as well as his mate filled his needy tightness. Now he was sure that all of this was real, there was no possibility that a dream could hurt so much.
Neteyam kept crying against his husband before he tried to lift himself off his lover's lap, only to drop himself onto his length again right after.
Pain mixed with pleasure.
Ao'nung couldn't help but gasp as the other male began to bounce up and down on his lap while his tears ran down his striped cheeks endlessly.
Ao'nung would be lying if he said he didn't like the wet tight squeeze around his length. Seeing his mate fucking himself with his cock was indeed a nice view. It took a good while until the pain got bearable so Neteyam rolled his hips eagerly everytime his ass slapped against his mate's lap.
This position cost Neteyam a lot of strength. Soon he was nothing but a heavily panting, trembling mess. Ao'nung noticed and grabbed his mate by his hips. He lifted him up and sat him onto the ground, telling him to turn around. Without hesitation, he followed his orders and knelt in front of him, presenting his stretched ass.
It only took a few seconds until he felt how Ao'nung knelt behind him and pushed his cock all the way in, causing him to whimper at the stretch. He arched his back and drooled onto the floor while Ao'nung thought about picking up a merciless speed, just how Neteyam liked it, but right now he rather just wanted to enjoy their first night as mates to the fullest without him passing out just yet.
He observed carefully how he pulled out halfway, only to slowly push himself back in until their hips touched. Neteyam cried out at the painfully slow pace, before he felt his mate's hand dig into his hip, the other one reached around him and massaged his own leaking cock.
"Mhh, m-more, please..." he moaned and whimpered while Ao'nung used this slow pace to spread some more kisses over his partner's exposed back.
"Don't be so greedy, ma 'teyam. Did I ever leave you unsatisfied?" he grinned against his back and Neteyam could feel it.
"That- that one time, mh, you-"
"That one time I told you to swallow and you didn't. That was your fault." Ao'nung chuckled deeply while his grip around his cock tightened, just like Neteyam's needy hole clenched around him.
He spat onto his shaft as he pulled back out to ease the movement and immediately he felt his own thrusts needing less force then before.
"Talk to me, my love." Aonung cooed into his ear while he buried himself so deep inside of his mate, balls hitting against his.
"Sing for me." he whispered against Neteyam's tilted ears, gently nipping at the skin around them. He wanted to encourage him to talk more since Ao'nung absolutely loved listening to his mate's pleas.
"You fill me up so... so well, oh-Ao'nung! I-i want you to... to destroy me, fuck! Yes, fuck me open, i beg you, oh eywa!"
These words were pure magic to Ao'nung, so he did what Neteyam asked for and took him deep and sloppy. Wet sounds and lust-filled moans filled the air. For the first time, Neteyam did not care if anyone heard them. Ao'nung belonged to him now.
"Yeah, i know you like that, ma 'teyam, you love when you feel me so deep in your pretty ass, don't you?"
Neteyams eyes rolled back as the other male ran his thumb over his slit and he felt him nip at his back and shoulders. There was no break for his clenching hole either that basically sucked Ao'nung in with a tight grip, no matter how sloppy his thrusts were.
"Yes, fuck yes, I love it!" he couldn't help but whimper loud and uncontrollably by now, especially as his mate hit his most sensitive spot with every thrust.
"Am I- am I good for you?"
"The best, my pretty little tsamsiyu."
A proud smile spread all across Neteyams face while Ao'nung patted his round ass which was in full presentation right before his hungry eyes. They both felt their climax nearing and the lower male tried to buck into the hand around his shaft. Ao'nung on the other hand bit his lower lip and threw this head back for a moment.
"I'm gonna fill you up nicely and you will take it all in, will you?" Neteyam shivered in excitement and lust. "Y-yes, fill me! Come inside of me, please! Ma Ao'nung, stuff me with your seed, pretty please!"
He desired Ao'nung to make him reach his peak, and it didn't take long until he did. With a satisfied moan he spilled his hot seed against his own chest and stomach, so his mate granted him a few more gentle strokes before Aonung buried his facs in Neteyam's braids. They both groaned in pleasure as the metkayina could feel his semen spill into his mate, painting his insides with the sticky substance.
Ao'nung held his hips against his own tightly until he was sure that every last drop filled Neteyam. He held his mate up by his hip with one arm so he couldn't collapse onto the floor, but the cum-stuffed moaning mess beneath him barely had any strength left already.
"Your cute little ass actually survived the first one."
"The first one?" Neteyam panted drooling, trying to catch his breath.
"You're my husband now. This will be a long tough night for your sweet body, that's why I wanted to take my time with you. We're just getting started."
Immediate regret overcame the omaticaya as he realized what that meant. He was already in pain from the rough start, but Ao'nung was still rock hard inside of him.
At least his cum worked like lube now which would per chance ease it for Neteyam who already needed a break, but traditions were traditions.
"Turn around." Ao'nung demanded as he pulled out. "Let's give your ass a moment to recover before I really need to get you to my mother by dawn."
Neteyam fell forward first but he gathered himself slowly but surely, kneeling before Ao'nung who got back up to his feet.
"Thank you..."
With one hand, the standing male stroked his cum-covered cock a few times and gestured his mate to get closer.
"You don't deserve my mercy after that stupidness at the start. Next time I wanna prepare you, you let me do that, okay?"
Neteyam couldn't help but gulp and look up to his husband with doe eyes for a moment.
He nodded a few times, his eyes fixated at the manhood in front of his face soon.
"Good. Now open your mouth wide for me, will you, my love?"
~~~
Neteyam could barely move. He was exhausted to the bone, simply laying in the marui he shared with Ao'nung until noon. The future olo'eyktan was merely a bit tired, but somehow it filled him with pride to see how Neteyam, the big and mighty warrior was so knocked out due to last night.
Ao'nung had taken good care of his husband in the morning. He was all cleaned up and dressed again, only his sore body and the selfmade  markings across his body hinted whatever had happened.
"I can't move..." Neteyam growled, trying to roll onto his other side while his husband watched him with a sly grin.
"Maybe that's for the better."
He didn't understand what he meant, but he hoped it was just some immature joke.
Soon, he heard someone approaching so Ao'nung turned to the opening of their marui, watching his parents as well as Neteyam's parents walk in.
The omaticaya felt an icy shower in his back just at the look of their parents. "Wh... Where we too loud?" His face blushed in embarrassment, but they just collectively acted as if they had overheard it.
"It's time for your markings. You're our son's mate now so you get markings too. That's part of our tradition." Tonowari explained, and Neteyam sighed deeply. How could he forget?
"Right now?" Neteyam asked, to which Ao'nung nodded with his wide grin. "After our first night, my love."
While the tsahik prepared everything she needed for her ritual, Jake grabbed his son by his arm who flinched slightly since his entire body was visibly still sore.
"But to answer your question, yes. " Jake murmured as quiet as possible without meeting his son's eyes. His serious stare was glued to the ground.
"Yes, son. You were too loud."

a/n : this is really short to me. terribly, terribly short. i'm trying to make the parts longer but this is my first ever story so i'm having very bad writer's block and just basically struggling over all.

The bell rung, third period had finally ended. Y/n quickly packed her bags wanting to get out of the same room as Neteyam and Ao'nung as soon as possible.
Soon as she was out the classroom and in the hallway, she pulled out her phone opening her messages to text Tsireya and Kiri.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Swiping out of the messaging app and clicking the power button on her phone, she slid the phone into her pocket with a small smile on her face and a quiet giggle.
Kiri always complained about only sharing gym with Tsireya and Y/n, and Kiri loathed the class with her whole being. Her brothers were also in the class, as well as Tsireya's brother and cousin. It didn't help that Kiri hated how Lo'ak always tried flirting with Tsireya, but honestly who could blame him.
Too caught up in her thoughts, she failed to notice the two older boys watching her with worried eyes. They wanted to talk to her, try and see if they could comfort her but the girl bolted out of the class before they could even finish packing up. Plus they were aware she didn't like the two, or at least that's what they concluded.
"Maybe we could ask our sisters." Ao'nung suggested, still observing Y/n. He knew the feeling of not being liked by another. Yeah he was popular, but he was also a jackass and he knew that, yet he still felt uncomfortable with the way his mind was reacting to Y/n not liking him.
Neteyam however, the feeling was somewhat new. He was a people pleaser, he rarely dealt with not being liked as his years went by and the few times it did, it didn't really bother him. But for her, something was different.
A simple "mhm.." was all he gave Ao'nung as a reply before the two went on to their own classes.

Notch the Arrow-Steal my soul
Pairing: Ao'nung x Neteyam (mostly sass) Rating: T AO3 Link
Tumblr media
What if Neteyam wasnt quite as concerned about keeping the peace? mostly a play off of the scene where Ao'nung smiles like a bastard when Neteyam interrupts them picking on kiri and loak to tell them to back off along with a particular comic I saw with a similar short scene.
It was later in the evening in the Metkayina village, the eclipse sinking into place on the horizon and the chores done for the day. The hustle of clan members chatting and drifting around preparing for the last meal created a calm familiar peace for Ao'nung.
The young Metkayina was desperate for some relaxation outside of the lessons he'd been forced into hosting. The itch under his skin to do anything other than watch the forest Navi fail and flounder like younglings. We'll...aside from the youngest. Taki was it? Who was actually a child.
He walked along the shore with some of the other teens, laughing and rough housing as they enjoyed the last bit of daylight. The sand was warm still and the energy of the day fading to a simmer.They didn't stray far, just enough to laugh without disturbing the elders. He took a deep breath, eyes wandering from their conversation across the sands to fall on a lean poised figure.
The eldest Sully child was settled calf deep in the calm waters on the far side of the beach, close to the cliffs that lead to the dense forest of the inner island. No doubt the na'vi would be more comfortable there. If they were lucky he'd run off and Ao'nung would have one less demon blood to teach in the morning. But unfortunately he was unnervingly still instead.
The darker toned Na'vi was focused, drawing the string of his bow back with a practiced ease that would be impressive if one cared to consider it. The easy shift in his posture with the movement of his weapon, shoulders back and stance sure definitely not something Ao'nung would be enamored with for the foreseeable future.
His arm was barely tense with the strain of his weapon, intense golden eyes narrowed as he released the arrow. It sliced through the air with a short whistle, hitting the water and startling the other teens with a loud rapid splashing in the shallows. The disturbed waves colored with the blood of the fish he'd shot. With a bow and arrow.
Ao'nung blinked in surprise. That...was an option he guessed. It wasnt unheard of or anything, though the Metkayina usually favored their hunting spears and crossbows. But seeing one of the Sullys doing something mildly competent was a bit of a shock.
"What is he doing?" One of his friends piped up, having finally tuned into the scenario as the forest boy retrieved the fish from the water to set it aside and start again. It was a decent sized animal.
Huh. Not so useless after all.
"Fishing...kind of? What's that one's name again?" Ao'nung hadn't bothered paying much attention when the introductions were made, absorbed in the curiosity and strangeness of the newcomers.
Rotxo frowned, crossing his arms and twisting his lips a little in thought.
"The oldest...I think its Neteyam." He bumped his shoulder against Ao'nung with a smirk, "Hes been pretty quiet for the most part. Not like his brother."
The other boys laughed and Ao'nung rolled his eyes at the mention of the demon blood he's been butting heads with.
"Well hopefully it stays that way. The less we have to deal with dirty blooded strangers like Lo'ak shooting his sxkwang mouth off-"
Pain.
Ao'nung felt the air beside his face part with a whistling noise, a stinging sensation blooming on his cheek where the arrow just grazed the flesh. A dull thud echoing behind him as the projectile hit the sand a couple feet away.
"What-!?"
The Metkayina teens jumped away, startled and confused. He drew his lips back over sharp canines in an aggressive response, bringing a hand up to hold his injured cheek with an angry furrowed brow. The injury was very small and thin, a whisper of a cut on the high part of his cheek. His heart was in his throat, who the hell would-.
His eyes met molten gold when he looked up for the offender, Neteyam still holding his bow with the next arrow notched.
Ao'nung could feel heat flooding his face.
Oh.
"If you're going to discuss how much we disgust you, perhaps it should be out of earshot. I'm no exception to my family and I won't be treated as such. Speak ill of them again and I promise you, I will not miss." Neteyams eyes were narrowed, his face damn near perfectly placid otherwise with an unnerving calmness.
The only thing giving away his aggravation was the swish of his thin tail behind him and the pinning back of his ears and honestly Ao'nung couldn't look away. The determined set of his brow and the protective destruction he promised still sitting in the air between them.
It was absolutely thrilling to see. and Ao'nung had to will his tail not to sway with the rush he felt in that moment.
He should be upset. Threatened on his home territory like this. But with those harsh eyes pinning him to the spot, all he could find was a kind of satisfaction settling in him. That he could get a reaction like that out of the famed stoic and patient older brother.
Neteyam never faltered or complained when he failed, cursing and trying again and again at all the challenges this new life brought. Ao'nung had seen it. Been annoyed and plagued by this seemingly perfect son and his inability to be prodded. But this frustration, this annoyance and anger? Ao'nung could work with this. He could understand this.
It seemed like a cheap shot to have to use his siblings to do so though. Less of an accomplishment. Ao'nung would have to pay closer attention to what made him tick.
"If you want to continue, do it elsewhere. *Fuck off*." The foreign word was unknown to the other na'vi but it's intent was pretty clear with Neteyams 'go away' gesture done with his bow.
Like the beach wasn't theirs to begin with. The nerve and conviction was stupid as it was endearing. He thought about saying so until another voice interrupted.
One of the boys took a step forward with a sneer, "oh! Big brother coming to-"
Ao'nung held a hand up, pressing the boy back by his chest with a furrow of his brow. Mouthing off the the person with a weapon aimed at you, outnumbered or not wasn't the best idea. He couldn't bring himself to break the eye contact yet though, completely absorbed in the power just beneath the surface.
He wanted to see it. Maybe not on this end, but the strength hidden beneath the eldest Sully's calm was definitely something he was drawn to. The startled smile on his face couldn't be helped and the irritated flick of Neteyams ears wasn't missed.
"Let's go. The meal will be finished soon. We shouldn't keep them waiting. You should join us when you're feeling less murderous, baby tail." Ao'nung grinned a little, walking backwards for a moment to watch Neteyam relax his bow with a frown.
Distrust and anger still rested on the boy in the tenseness of his shoulders, the swish of his tail, the firm line of his lips. Ao'nung wanted to take it all apart piece by piece and the stutter in his chest when the boy gave him the slightest touch of a smirk as they retreated confirmed it.
He needed to see that expression again.
He'd be watching the forest boy very closely.
I imagine immediately following this Neteyam freaked the fuck out by himself for not following orders and having possibly caused trouble if he's snitched on. lmao thanks for reading!

If this is the way we request I’ll ask my request. I don’t really know how to request anything. I never really done it but will you make a polyamorous relationship between the Neteyam, Aonung, and the reader or however you say at your OC I hope this is how you request but I’m not really good at requests please and thank you. Also, I love your runaway series that you have. It’s really good so cute.
Threes not a crowd.
//hi love! No worries you did great. Im just gonna make you a little headcanon followed by a small Drabble for the soul :3
Headcanons Before You guys got together.
You are a Metkayina reader btw.
You Were Good Friends With Tsireya so you knew Ao'nung by default
You weren't buddy buddy. But you def did talk frequently with Ao'nung
When the sully's arrived You and him def argued.
You make quick friends with Neteyam and Lo'ak of course
Ao'nung and Neteyam start getting along as the Olo'eyktan son's
They also start getting along much more after making a competition on how to 'whoo' you.
Ao'nung actually focuses on bettering his relationship with you.
makes you Hand crafted gifts.
Takes you on long swims
You actually really like how he interacts with the little kids of the clan.
You do start to give him gifts back.
Ao'nung makes it very clear he is courting you.
Neteyam is a different story.
He actually doesn't make it clear he is courting you
which makes his courting rituals difficult to understand.
He brings you his largest hunt and while your thankful you actually take it as being "needy"
actually Neteyam is so sweet but all his courting rituals are kind of offensive to you guys.
Neteyam goes to Ao'nung for help and as much as Ao'nung wants to win he knows he may as well give Neteyam a fair shot too.
Atually Ao'nung begins to help so much that the two are now Helping each other out.
You actually have no clue either. Just know two guys have began to court you.
Neteyam begins to tell Ao'nung how he would confess.
They actually confess to each other first.
"Bro i like you to" "Bro no way" "bro.." *mwah mwah mwah* the whole nine yards.
Now leaves the question, What about you?
They both seek you out. Your wearing Ao'nungs Anklet he gifted you and have Neteyams spear next to you as they caught you mid hunt
Both of the boys stood in front of you. Staring at your figure As now you are looking at them. Confused and maybe scared because you really don't know who to choose.
"We come to talk to you"
"about?" you ask watching the two intently.
The two of them now kneeled in front of you. Staring up at you.
"As you know WE have been courting you. And we wanted to know if-"
"actually... i was meaning to talk to you two about it" You treaded carefully on your words. " I know. I know you two been courting me. And i truly appreciate it. But you have to understand what its making me feel"
The two of them stared at you. letting their hands all at their sides as they listened to you.
"I want to be able to choose and i do like the both of you. But.. But i don't want to have to choose between one and hurt the other one at all"
"Y/n..."
"So please understand that. Understand it may not be what you guys want"
"Y/n. Its Alright, Its okay"
"We actually are...seeing each other too"
And thats how you three got together. It would be a while before you would tell your families. and it would be a while before you three would be come mates before Eywa. But you knew that
Now you three were disgustingly cute together.

Friendships
Kiri and Spider have been best friends since the beginning
They met when Kiri was still an infant and Spider around 2. He still wasn't allowed to leave the labs but he snuck in to one of Kiri's checkups
He was a climber and a builder - hence his name - and so it was hard to keep him out of where he wanted to be
So when the toddler heard another cry in the building it was only a matter of time before he found it
He wanders, stumbling through the offices he's confined to and sneaking until he reaches the Avatars
Jake is there, Kiri in his arms, sitting next to Ms. Grace's tank. He's talking and it sounds like a story which Spider loves so he of course toddles his way over. He climbs into the Na'vi's lap without regard for his size, skin, or the fact that he's only met Jake a handful of times.
Jake, to his credit, catches the tiny human with a free palm under his butt. Paying no heed to the flabbergasted look on the mans face, he peers down to stroke the girls cheek
He flies for a moment while Jake tries to keep them apart but then the girl has his hand in her palm
She blinks up with big eyes and Spider offers a giant toothless grin: there was no going back after that
Neteyam comes with Kiri
He's Spiders age but double his size, 2' taller for the 2 months he's younger
Still, Spider doesn't let the few kids his age on Pandora get away. He's a social butterfly and opts to conquer Neteyam's introverted ways.
And so he toddles after the blue boy everytime he comes with his sister
Kiri is growing fast, especially next to human growth standards, but she still has a ways to go to meet Spider, so her big brother will have to do
It's 3 months of toddling after him, pulling his tail, and playing with the pretty beads adoring his hair while Neytiri tries desperately to keep the little human away from him
But, once again, containing Spider is mission the adults surrounding him have yet to accomplish
And so Neteyam finds himself with a little blonde flea attached to his side
He chases the younger boy through the halls, giggling at the tiny hisses Neteyam lets out when he catches him. He pulls his tail and climbs onto his big boy bed - he can use the grown up bunks now! - while Neteyam tackles his obstacles with ease.
The other boy is shyer but Spider has learned how to rile him up by now
They play for the hour or two that Jake spends with Kiri getting monitored in the labs. If Neytiri is there then it's harder, but Spider can normally get a story for them at least.
It continues on for a while with Kiri joining them as she starts to crawl, then toddle with their hair or her brothers tail in her fist
And it seems that gets Spider a little too comfortable
Namesake on full display, he tries to climb the bunkbed ladders of the bunk room while Neteyam is chasing him
He's gotten far too big for most of Spiders tricks to slow him down so the child thinks this is his chance to get a rare upper hand
Except bunk beds are tall and metal is slick and maybe Spider isn't really that much of a big kid yet
He really does try to catch himself but its too slippery and he hits the ground hard
The scientists around the lab don't like it when he cries and really does try to keep it in, but his arm really hurts and he can't help but let it escape
He waits for Neteyam to mock him or tell him to stop but instead finds himself craddled against the boys chest.
"Shhhh, shh, 's okay Spi, just stop cryin'. I-I'll get my Daddy and Uncl' Norm." Spider only shakes his head and cries more, clinging to the other boys beads.
"No'uh, 'm okay. 'm a big boy."
Neteyam stutters for a minute before he nods. The two boys stay curled on the floor for a few minutes then with Spiders arm cradled between them.
"Don't worry, 'm here Spi. Every'tings okay."
Their relationship is never as close as the others growing up but there's an understanding between them the others never have
They're equals, the two oldest brothers.
They might be opposites but they've got one another's backs...even if that's just taking left while the other takes right to corner Lo'ak at highcamp.
Neteyam never made friends easily
Spider forced himself into the picture and his siblings never really got a choice in the matter
Sure, being the Ole'ekytans son meant some of the other kids would clamor for his attention but he never did good at being more than casual
Responsibilities stack on him like like the berries on Tuks tarts: he doesn't have the time or strength to devote to anything else
His siblings are enough though. There's a war and he can't loose focus or they'll get hurt
He left them once and lost Spider - he won't let it happen again
It gets lonely though
He chases after his kid brother and protects his sisters from as much as he can but...there's no one to look after him
Then he meets Ao'nung
Ao'nung is brave and cool and gets it in a way his siblings just can't
He may not have grown up in a war but he has a little sister and another on the way - he knows the responsibility of an important father and its addicting to have that person in his life
They lean on eachother, quietly, and he finally has something for himself
He tells him things he never told anyone else
He talks about his fathers expectations and pressure, his mothers trauma, his worry over the human they left behind, and his fear for Kiri's future. He talks about Lo'ak running into danger and Tuk losing her innocence and Ao'nung talks about his anger. About the fear he has of whats to come, about Tsireya and how he worries this will break her. He's weak around him and Neteyam savors it.
Time goes by and he gets hurt. His arm might never be the same as it was and his ear still rings with the echoes of gunshots but he has his brother back and his family is safe
Neytiri finally, finally lets Spider come home but it's not over
He doesn't think it ever will be
But Ao'nung slips his hand into his and maybe he'll be okay
Maybe he doesn't have to do this alone
Rotxo was Ao'nungs first friend
They were friends from the first time they sat through lessons together and they've been attached at the hip ever since
Rotxo knows Ao'nung will be a great Ole'ekytan but he'll need a right hand and Rotxo is ready to step up
For a long time he thinks maybe he'll be more than that but the Sullys arrive and they both find that path a different way
Still, they're eachothers person
They back one another up no matter what and there is rarely one without the other
In training they pair up, have joint moves that they make just for themselves and know the others gaps or weaknesses like its their own
Tonowari didn't want to train them for war but they didn't want to risk being unprepared
So when the sky people reach their waters, they spend every hour they can steal with one another
They spar and wrestle and carve more weapons
Their hands shake with fear and adrenaline but they keep their thighs pressed to the others and carry on
Rotxo gains muscle mass and Ao'nung learns to use a bow Neteyam carved. They grow their skills, their strength, but also their fear
Unlike the Sullys, they didn't grow up with war on the horizon
They don't know what's coming and cling to each other while they can.
No matter what, they know they can rely on the other
It isn't until they see Quaritch dead that they'll let go of the breath they're holding but they hold the other up until then
Nothing could pry them apart and nothing that tries will walk away

part 1 | part 2 | part 3
Tumblr media

SFW | 2.7k words
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ao'nung couldn't keep his eyes off of you as you and Rotxo wandered along the shore, hand in hand, not too far away from the village. He could just see you two from the entry of his marui. Neteyam was busy braiding the upper half of his hair, adding some shells and beads here and there. Ao'nung hated the idea since it was something mostly girls did, but Tuk had insisted on it, and whatever she asked for, she got.
He was forced to watch you talking to Rotxo, fingers laced with his as you suddenly bursted out laughing at something he said. Ao'nungs ears went down and his shoulders tensed up, even more as he watched how your mate caught you in his strong arms, tickling the air out of your lungs.
Neteyam sat behind his mate, skillfully braiding another strand of Ao'nungs dark curls in silence. Tuk sat with them, handing another shell to her brother so he could add it.
"Ma yawne, can you turn your head a bit?" he asked, but he got no answer. His mate only sat there like a rock, not moving a bit. He was too focused on studying the way you interacted with Rotxo. The sweet caring touches, holding hands, chasing each other through the sand. How he took care of you, how he softly reached out to fix your hair. A growl escaped Ao'nungs throat.
"Nung-nung?" Tuk called out with a questioning look, "Hey, if you wanna look pretty you gotta listen to my brother!" The young omaticaya girl climbed over to the metkayina's front, sitting in the empty space between his criss-crossed legs.
"Helloooo?" Ao'nung got completely lost in the sight of you and your mate, until Tuk blocked his vision.
"Oh yeah, sure. I'm sorry, princess." Only then he followed the directions he got, and Neteyam smiled at the interaction between his sister and his husband. The future olo'eyktan wasn't a bad big brother at all. Of course he was a troublemaker sometimes but after all his family was always his priority.
Seeing you and his best friend so happy together somehow felt good. The knowledge that you had found someone who knew your worth and cared for you let him rest at night, but his ego didn't. What honestly bothered him most was that Rotxo hadn't told him. For years. Was he keeping any other secrets from him as well?
"Ma'onung, you should talk to them." Neteyam sighed as he finished up another braid, but Ao'nung only growled.
"You should've talked to me, ma 'teyam. You knew about this too."
"Hey, don't switch topics. Once we're done here, you'll go over there and talk to them. I'm having enough of your frustration, you're always letting it out on me."
Tuk turned to see the two of you playing in the shallow water,  then looked back to Ao'nung.
"I'm sure if you give them some food they'll forgive you. Always works for me" she said innocently, causing the two grown men to huff.
She reached out another bead to Neteyam which he skillfully added into the next braid.
The future olo'eyktan started playing with Tuk's hair himself, purely out of boredom. "Nung-nung messed up big time, some food is not gonna help I suppose."Neteyam's words had Ao'nung growling once more. "I didn't mess up, they've been lying to me! Also, only your sister is allowed to call me Nung-nung!"
"What did y/n lie about?" Tuk asked, turning her head over into your direction. Ao'nungs eyes went past the young sully girl, watching Rotxo kissing you ever so lovely.
"Well, she has been together with my best friend and nobody told me." Ao'nung tried to explain as calmly as he could and Tuk nodded, trying to understand.
"Lo'ak sometimes sneaks out to have fun with Kiri and Spider. They go on adventures and don't tell me, it's unfair... But he always brings me something from his trip, as an apology."
That's when Ao'nungs eyes shot up, ears turning forward attentively. He remembered always collecting little tokens with Rotxo which they could add to their songcords. It was their own little tradition. It hurt him being so distant to you and his best friend, but he just didn't know how to jump over his shadow and talk to you again. But now that he remembered, he got an idea, and maybe little girl wasn't so wrong about the food.
"Hey Tuk-tuk, can I have some of those pretty shells that you found?"
The girl opened her hand in front of his face right away, so Ao'nung picked out the prettiest ones. Three shells, to be precise.
"You're a life saver, princess. Thank you." he smiled, carefully fist-bumping the little girl. Neteyam knew exactly what his plan was. A satisfied smile crawled up on his face while he finished the last braid.
Before Neteyam could say anything, his mate instantly got up, and gathered his new braids in a bun, bowing down to kiss Neteyam on his cheek as a 'thank you'.
"Ma 'teyam, go ask them to have dinner with us."
"Me?" the omaticaya man scoffed, "No, that's your task. You go and ask them." Ao'nung simply pouted, not liking this idea, but what other choice did he have?
"Come on, please! I'll take care of Tuk-Tuk for a week!"
Yet his mate was adamant about this, shaking his head and crossing his arms in front of his chest.
"No, you'll go ask them yourself. Don't fu-... mess it up. Or no cuddles for a long time!"
Ao'nung raised his brows as Neteyam got up and pushed one finger against his mate's chest. "No cuddles, huh? I think you're gonna suffer more than I would, tiyawn." the future olo'eyktan grinned.
"That involves 'special cuddles' too!" Neteyam hissed quietly, hoping his younger sister wouldn't understand.
Now he had gotten his husband's full attention.
"Fine, fine, ugh... Already on my way... But you're going hunting for dinner!"
"Did you say you want no 'special cuddles' for a month?" Neteyam teased.
And with that, Ao'nung rolled his eyes, grabbed his spear and crossbow before leaving.
"You're lucky Tuk-Tuk's here right now..."
~~~
You were sitting in the sand, enjoying the pleasant heat of the sun on your skin next to Rotxo as you saw Ao'nung approaching. Your first instinct was to put your arm around him, protectively holding him close to you.
Ao'nung didn't say a word until he squatted down next to Rotxo, throwing his weapons into the sand and supporting his weight with his empty fist.
His pride made it hard for him to bring out a greeting or an apology, so got straight to the point. Ao'nung couldn't even look your mate in the eyes.
"Open your hand..." he simply demanded in a low voice. Hesitantly Rotxo followed his order and your brother placed two of the shells onto his palm.
"For your sondcords."
Both of you were surprised at the gesture but especially Rotxo remembered their tradition. It was something they had done throughout their life, mostly to celebrate something. Your mate retrieved his hand so he could take a close look at them. These little tokens meant a lot, despite their size. "Is that your way of saying sorry?" you asked blatantly, knowing your brother had a huge problem with his ego.
"Shut up..." he growled, shooting a pissed gaze at you for calling him out.
Rotxo was seriously touched by the gesture, he couldn't help but smile brightly. As Ao'nung noticed how happy his best friend looked, he could keep his mask on for too long and the corners of his lips turned upwards ever so slightly. He had missed having the two of you around. Somehow he felt empty without you and his best friend.
"So uhm..." Ao'nung started quietly, looking away. His eyes fixated on the horizon. "If you two don't have any plans for later, feel free to join us for dinner." he mumbled, too proud to put these words into a question.
Rotxo's eyes lightened up right away. He could feel his heart beating in his throat, and so could you. In excitement he nodded, letting out a relieved huff. Then his eyes fell upon you. Without hesitation you agreed too and Rotxo looked back at the shells, then at Ao'nung.
"Sounds good, we'll be there."
~~~
As the sun was disappearing, you and Rotxo had accompanied your brother and his mate, just as promised. It was pretty awkward at first. You had greeted Neteyam with a hug, but you didn't know how to greet Ao'nung after all that had happened. In the end, you were still somehow not over how he had reacted to your secret.
Rotxo simply waved at the two man wish a sheepish smile before everyone sat in a circle. Ao'nung and Neteyam sat next to each other, you two across from them. The silence at first was unsettling, but soon Rotxo gathered enough confidence to talk.
"So, your vacation, how was it?" He started quietly, hoping Ao'nung would talk to him. And he did, but shortly.
"Good."
Neteyam gave him a demanding look to say a bit more than that, so Ao'nung rolled his eyes back.
"Neteyam and Lo'ak showed Tsireya and me where they grew up. We met his grandmother and the rest of his people." He started to explain.
You decided to enter the conversation too, testing the waters carefully.
"I saw you learned how to ride an ikran as well?" Neteyam tried to bite back a laugh at the memory of Ao'nungs first attempt. Now he was the one to get side-eyed by his mate.
"I did, yeah."
"And you got your cummerbund too, right?" Rotxo proceed to ask carefully but with interest while Neteyam was loading up a potion of grilled fish into a bowl for each and everyone, handing them out.
"I've learned how to use a bow and finished my warrior training in no time." Ao'nung then went on to thank his husband and started to dig in right away, hoping he could escape this conversation.
You and Rotxo thanked for the food as well, also starting to fill your hungry stomachs. There was a weird silence hanging in the air again for a good while until Neteyam talked since there was no way Ao'nung would overcome his pride yet.
"What did you two do in the meantime?"
You and Rotxo quickly glanced at each other, knowing that Ao'nung wouldn't like the answer, but he had to live with that.
"I moved in with Rotxo, we've been spending a lot of time together. We went hunting together, weaving baskets, making jewelry for each other, all kinds of stuff."
Ao'nungs eyes fell on your wristband. He had noticed it before but just now he found a chance to take a closer look. It looked very well crafted, he had to admit. The corners of his lips turned up as he noticed something about it.
"I taught you these knots..." he mumbled, his eyes falling onto your mate.
"You taught me a lot." Rotxo answered, suddenly feeling a bit more tense than before. Ao'nung pursed his lips, flicking his eyebrows. He really had to swallow the sentence 'Apparently I didn't teach you well enough that my sister is unavailable for you'. But he couldn't lie to himself. Whenever he watched you interact, you looked so.... at peace.
"Ma'onung, tell them about the day you almost got killed by a palulukan like my father" Neteyam threw in after cleaning his throat, in order to keep the conversation running. After a bit of discussion with his mate, Ao'nung gave up and explained.
You couldn't help but laugh at the story, and neither could Rotxo. But as the laughter died down, he decided to speak up again.
"But you survived. You outsmarted that beast, I didn't expect anything less from our future olo'eyktan."
Ao'nung froze at these words. He understood what he wanted to hint at.
Rotxo was still respecting him.
After everything Ao'nung had said and done, and it was eating up his insides. He felt guilty. He had secretly done so everytime he had seen the two of you interact.
Maybe it was time to talk to him in private, he thought.
"Ma 'teyam, why don't you and y/n clean these up, hm?" Ao'nung obliged, stacking the empty bowls in front of his mate. If it was any other occasion, Neteyam would've scolded him for getting the housewife treatment, but he followed his husbands words in silence. His eyes were scolding him enough before he did what Ao'nung had asked of him, gently dragging you away from them.
Once they were alone, Rotxo could feel his heart beating in his throat once more. His jaw was clenched in nervousness. He couldn't relax, even less as Ao'nung sighed and spoke up.
"If I ever see you ordering my sister around like that I'll kill you, you know that, right?" Ao'nung said in all seriousness. It made Rotxo swallow heavily.
"I wouldn't dare to-"
"I know, Rotxo. I know you. Well, at least I thought I did. You see, I'm not even mad that you're dating my sister anymore. You've proven yourself worthy. You're happy and I respect that. What's bothering me is that you didn't tell me. I thought you were my best friend."
Rotxo pursed his lips, trying to hide how much these words were stinging in his chest. They shattered his little loving heart.
"I wanted to tell you. So many times... Do you think it was fun for me to lie to you? I was so scared of what you might say..."
Ao'nung immediately noticed how his friend's lips started to quiver.
"I don't know how I would've reacted, but if out of all people you would've asked me for my blessing, I would have given it to you eventually. Like I said, I'm not mad that you're dating her, I'm mad that you don't trust me."
"Ao'nung-" Rotxo tried to blink a few times as he felt his own vision blurr, "I was afraid to lose you as my best friend. You mean the world to me."
Now, Ao'nung was getting sentimental as well, but he tried to cover it with a bit of humor, also to cheer his friend up. "Hey, don't let Neteyam hear that, he gets jealous easily."
They both giggled, letting go of the tension for a moment. But that tension didn't return afterwards. It felt good to finally talk again.
"He's not gonna let you hit for making him do the dishes anyways" Rotxo chuckled, making Ao'nung shake his head slowly.
"Oh, he can't ever be mad at me for too long anyways. I mean", he flexed his arms, "see those muscles? As if he could fall asleep on anything else anyways. But you... have you and my sister...? Just curious."
Rotxo could feel his face heating up, ears tilting back at his words. With wide eyes he stared at Ao'nung, shaking his head wildly.
"O-of course not, no!"
"Good, okay. Well, you better not!" His voice was strict, but soon after he faltered.
"Argh, maybe... maybe my husband is right and I'm just being overprotective... but didn't want her to end up in the wrong hands. I was too strict. So strict that I made you two hide from me... I-" he cleared his throat, once again unable to look your mate into his eyes.
"I made a mistake." he muttered.
Rotxo couldn't believe his ears.
"But from now on I want you to tell me the truth. And as long as you treat my sister right, I'm not going to kill you."
Now Rotxo brought in some humor in order to loosen up the unpleasant conversation.
"Who else could put up with you, skxawng? Someone's going to have to keep you away from your bad ideas if your husband is busy."
"Yeah," Ao'nung chuckled with a smile. "You're right."
Just then, you and Neteyam returned. The omaticaya seemed a bit annoyed by the fact that Ao'nung hadn't done anything here to clean up, but you could only smile brightly as you sae the two men laughing together.
Neteyam announced that he'd go to bed already to leave the three of you more time to finally talk. A stone fell off your chest seeing them interact again, almost as if nothing had happened. It filled your heart with joy to witness this moment. Life seemed so easy all of a sudden. All worries and doubts disappeared, and the long-living tension was finally gone.
Hello I was wondering if I could request an Ao’nung x Reader, maybe reader could be Tsu’tey’s daughter from a woman he had mated with after learning of Neytiri’s and Jake’s mating, he had a woman that he had loved but he couldn’t have because he was betrothed to Neytiri. And that love bore fruit to our reader who is very close to the Sully family especially with Kiri whom she always defends when being teased by other children. She joins Norm and Max to the metkayina clan. And she’s just this badass with an ikran that was theorized by others to be the spawn of The great leonopteryx that Jake had tamed once. And Ao’nung is flabbergasted by this pretty na’vi riding such a dangerous animal? When the battle happens, she goes ham on the RDA and SAVES NETEYAM BC GDI LEAVE MY BOY ALONE and when they return theres a whole celebration and reader finally relaxes and shes been surrounded by curious na’vis alike bc phew baddie ‼️💅🏻 and ao’nung is such a simp tryna talk to her and rizz her up and it’s just ao’nung pining over her ackk
Destined for Might and Him
Ao’nung x Tsu’tey’s daughter!reader [Word Count: 3.1k]
🤷‍♀️uploading this after 123456789 years of draft!! Enjoy reading another rubbish fic😚💕
Warnings: mentions of death, spoilers
Jake has made countless mistakes since he joined the Omatikaya for his mission. Tsu’tey had never approved of him, until he actually saw him. He was betrothed to Sylwanin first, then came the humans, taking her away from his arms, Neytiri being the next suitable partner for him. As if there was a curse following him, a demon swooped Neytiri from him, though they were not that subtle. He has never seen Neytiri the way he looked at her older sister though.
Third time’s the charm, right?
In Tsu’tey’s case, it is. Being the next olo’eyktan meant he would be interacting with the entire clan, making sure that they felt safe even before his rule, heavily dedicating himself to making the hometree the most secure and comfortable place for their people. That’s where he met your mother, the forbidden fruit he’s always afraid to touch, only to see. He did not think it was right to look at another woman when he was promised to another man’s daughter. He was afraid that she would be too dainty for him to pursue.
Only to see, he said.
The third time he planned to mate with a woman was in the middle of the conflict. Right after he learned about Jake and Neytiri’s mating, he stormed off, not without giving Jake a good beating of course. It is when he actually had the chance to follow his heart, free of expectations. He soon learned that she too, was in love with him since he passed his iknimaya, hiding it from the rest of the clan as soon as she realized that she could not have him. Not without betraying the daughter of the olo’eyktan. So she comforted him, became friends with him instead. With his pride broken, he took everything that he thought would put his pieces back to being worthy of a warrior. Eywa, did it feel good to follow his heart and tell your mother how he really felt. So that’s why Sylwanin used to talk of mating as if it was the most beautiful thing in the world.
Somehow as he reminisced, he has really begun to see himself growing older with your mother. So, he set himself a new goal. To protect his love, and his people. Neytiri did not matter to him that much anymore, having moved on from the ghost of the past, accepting Jake Sully as his brother once again, deciding to fight against the sky demons with dreamwalkers whom Eywa have shown promise in.
What he did not expect was you. So imagine his surprise when he came home, your mother guiding his hands on her torso, telling him, Think you can handle one more, ma tsu’tey?
And so, the war came. Battles were won, people were lost. Including the mightiest warrior your mother has ever known. Your father, too young to be taken by Eywa, but alas. It was time for him to embrace the great mother’s comforting presence. He thought it was a shame it would take him years before he actually gets the chance to clutch you in his arms. He’s long entrusted you to his brother though. He made sure Jake promises him to look after you and your mother after all.
A beautiful young na’vi, born into war, just a few months before Jake Sully’s first son was born. You were then named, (y/n) te Rongloa Yenateu’ite. You were a carbon copy of your father, your mother actually exclaimed Tsu’tey’s name when she saw you having the eyes and seemingly permanent daring look your father had. You never really knew your father. Your mother would speak highly of him every night, stories and songs written by her, dedicated with her love for her long lost love. You would see her casting a longing gaze at the walls of your tent whenever she braids your hair, telling you of her and her past love’s nightly escapades when the people would head to their tents to sleep. Amazement and sheer pride written on your face when hearing of your father.
That’s when your mother would sigh audibly, completely defeated that you would always be a daddy’s daughter even without meeting him.
It has been a few weeks since your adoptive family moved to Awa’atlu to seek uturu. Your mother has long passed away, developing a sickness a few years ago. Life in the waters for them was not easy, having new responsibilities and things to work on, especially the breathing.
You were the seventh Toruk Makto, for Eywa’s sake.
Your iknimaya was going perfectly, along with Neteyam. Neteyam proved himself to be a mighty warrior, having wrestled with one of the toughest-looking ikran in the rookery. Kiri showed that she had the strongest connection to Eywa when she ‘befriended’ an ikran at a very young age, earning the title of tsakarem. You, on the other hand, basically confirmed the undeniability that you were Tsu’tey te Rongloa Ateyitan’s daughter, after an unusual occurrence in the ikran rookery. The “most dangerous iknimaya”, as Mo’at would say. As soon as Txop’alei sealed his bond with his ikran, as you stepped through the narrow path, a large ikran– No, a Toruk towered over the ikran rookery, making all of you yell in surprise followed by hisses from Neytiri behind you, and screeches from ikran fleeing away.
Your heart skipped a beat when you crossed gazes with the Toruk, stepping forward cautiously as its vibrant orange reflected on your yellow eyes, examining its slightly emerald green tinges on its wings. Soon enough, you were greeted with a threatening roar, making you gulp as soon as you realized that you were being chosen. Wrestling with an ikran is one thing, but with the great leonopteryx? It’s like a death sentence. Maybe it’s your mom or dad calling for you through Eywa, but would the warrior side of you really give up this thrilling opportunity?
Xi’di. That’s what you named your Toruk. Neytiri says it looked familiar. She thinks it’s a child of her mate’s Toruk. Mo’at says it’s your fathers gift to you from the other side when she pointed out how similar the green tinges match your father’s ikran colors.
You were more than happy to get to know your friend, Xi’di, through sneaking out and having late night flights. It wasn’t long before you were exposed to war, with Jake asking you to spot demon machines when the stars multiplied in the skies, together with his sons Neteyam and Lo’ak, brothers you would consider them as.
“Stop the useless yammering and out with it,” you spoke, jutting your chin upwards to emphasize that you were a greater warrior than he is.
“I saw your ikran,” Aonung inhaled deeply, petting the ilu swimming around the two of you, “it is bigger than the others” he pointed out, his incorrectness making you roll your eyes. You thought it was pathetic that he would attempt to hold a conversation with you after participating with yet again another standoff with your brothers. Your ears flickered slightly at the sound of celebrations around you, children laughing as they danced around.
You huffed at his curious glance, “It is a Toruk,” you smiled wickedly at his reaction, “Surprised that a girl smaller than you is a better warrior?” He scoffed at you, a mocking smile written on his face as he changed the subject back to something related to breathing.
The Metkayina chief’s son was not as who you expected him to be. He was arrogant, condescending, the complete opposite of what Neteyam was like, as the former olo’eyktan’s son.
“You wish,” he smirked, remembering how you checked him out earlier in the day as he raised the nets, his toned arms making your heart gallop. “Metkayina men are known for having mighty arms,” he boasted, too absorbed with himself that he somehow missed how you bashfully avoided eye contact for a second, a blush overtaking your cheeks as he continued on and on about what he has achieved, and his goals to be realized before and after he becomes olo’eyktan.
Regardless of the boastful and proud demeanor, Ao’nung lives up to his status though, having the toughest feats than the men his age, hunting the most, sparring the best, donning the most pleasing face in the clan and all, not that you would admit that to his face.
You remembered the faint voice of your father echoing from the tree of souls, telling that he might not be able to handle it if a pompous na’vi were to win your heart, you were Tsu’tey’s daughter for Eywa’s sake. Nobody would be worthy of you if he was actually there to guard you from presumptuous young men. So, you heed your father’s vivid wishes, promising yourself that you would be in your most sound and logical self when it comes to matters like this. Jake would always nod at you with pride when he hovers to size up your suitors, as soon as he witnesses you reject potential mates.
No wonder he and your biological father grew on each other.
You were not keen on migrating to another clan, only knowing the forest since you were born. You were angry. Furious, that the sky demons were responsible for your family's pain. You would never hold that against your adoptive father though. You loved him more than anything in the world, together with your half na'vi brothers and sisters, but you could not give up the forest. And so, you held your ground and decided to stay with the Omatikaya people.
Since the Sully's arrived in Awa'atlu, your siblings have received nothing but a flurry of insults and looks of disgust from most of the village people. Especially from the chief's son.
As the eldest sister, you felt responsible for making your brothers and sisters feel safe. Back in the forest, you would glare at every stupid boy who would dare sneak up on your sister and call her a freak, you would cast the most frightening look on your face when people would point at your youngest brother. But the most important of all, you would smile the sweetest directed at your younger siblings.
So when you heard of Kiri's situation from Norm, you immediately called upon Xi'di and braved the waters to come to where your family was. Horns and spears were let out when the Metkayina guards caught sight of a large beast coming upon their island, terrified yells from people left and right were heard, except for Lo'ak who let out a laugh of disbelief when he laid his eyes on the majestic Toruk. The colors were oh-so familiar, clad in a saddle that screamed Omatikaya, a dangling string of beads around its neck, the diversity of materials that came from none other than him.
A loud roar resonated within Awa'atlu, startling Neytiri who was busy tending to Kiri. She frowned at the thought of you, thinking that she was imagining things.
"Did you hear that Ma'itan?" Her question was answered soon enough when she noticed him running towards the crowd outside and exclaimed, "Sister, you have come!"
And there it was.
Ao'nung almost snapped his neck at how fast it turned when he caught you in his peripherals. His eyes almost bulged out of its sockets at how fast it widened when you turned your eyepiece upwards as you broke the bond with Xi'di.
"My mighty warrior! It has been too long baby brother," you slung your arms around Neteyam's frame, telling him how much he's grown in just a few months. Gladness and worry was written on your face when he brought up Kiri's situation, "You mean she had a seizure underwater ?!"
Ao'nung noticed how your waterline easily filled up with tears waiting to be shed when you approached the marui where Kiri was currently being taken care of.
What made his feelings definite was the brief eye contact with him that you shared though.
"Thank you, great mother! Thank you!"
You wailed with your family, hugging each other where Neteyam was lying down, grateful that your family has been once again blessed by Eywa. The sky people had wrought destruction in just a matter of a few weeks since your arrival in Awa'atlu after you decided to stay until you have reassured Kiri's well-being.
You were feeling beyond terrified at what had just occurred. You saw your brothers and sisters getting chased by the demon machineries, three of them tied on the huge ship that drove on the waters, spurring the darkness inside you as you fought and fought and fought until you have ensured that they were all safe.
Your brother, Neteyam.
The brother that you have known the longest, shot near where his heart lies, sealing RDA's fate when you saw your brother wheezing on a rock, who wanted nothing but to come home. You were soon enough blinded by rage, together with Neytiri who channeled her anger to retrieve her daughters who were left on the ship.
Everything was a blur that night. Guns and armies thrown left and right, ships exploding, taking hundreds of lives, both na’vi and human. You didn’t think you could have handled it well without the guidance of your father. You felt rage and hurt. Seeing your brother writhe in pain, shivering in the numbing coldness of the water raging against the rocks, you felt like you have just had your heart thrown away.
Your childhood friend Spider, getting sliced across his chest. Your mother, completely having her judgment clouded over her dying son, her daughters, desperate to be freed from the arms of a demon who somehow took pleasure in making your father's life null.
Then it was all submerged in the harsh waters.
You cried out for your companion and rode your Toruk, circling around the sinking demon ship, tears continuously flowing in frustration.
Where was everyone?
You swore you almost lost your mind, but then you remembered.
They were Omatikaya. They will survive.
So, you swallowed the impending grief. You forced yourself to think clearly through the bond, Xi’di responding with the loudest roar it could muster, and swooped down towards the direction of the rocks where you Neteyam laid.
At the sight of Neteyam, you cried.
It was that day when Ao'nung first saw you cry in Neteyam's arms, who was also sniffling at the thought of almost dying and missing out on his siblings' lives. He ruffled Tsireya's hair as she cried in relief, thankful that his sister was also safe.
The people cried. The people mourned. The people had their reunion with their families.
Sully’s stick together. And stick together, you did.
All of you were safe.
“You okay, kid?” Jake mumbled against the top of your head, embracing you and Neteyam as soon as he climbed up the shores, to which you responded by sobbing and hugging him tight. Neytiri had Neteyam against her chest, kissing his forehead, thanking the great mother all over again.
You turned your heads at the sound of water splashing once more, revealing Spider.
“Monkey boy!” Kiri exclaimed, smiling at the sight of her friend, pressing a hand against his chest. You untangled yourself from your father, fussing over Tuk and Neteyam as you see Lo’ak and Spider get squished against your father’s chest.
As you pressed your lips against Tuk’s forehead, you somehow met Ao’nung’s gaze, casting a soft smile at him as you observed him rubbing Tsireya’s shoulder in affection as she cried in his arms, completely being washed over with relief and mostly just overstimulated from the war you had just gone through.
And soon enough, it was time for a celebration of their victory against the sky people.
Fires were started, wood were piled up on one another, the children holding hands together as they sing praises to the great mother, celebrating the victory of their people, ever grateful for the safety of who remained, and prayed for the guidance of Eywa to help those who were lost, to come home to her warm embrace.
Ao’nung fixed the headdress he was donning, a symbol of his status, as he sat beside his sister, scanning his gaze amongst the sea of his people.
And then there was you.
Your eyes were piercing as you held your gaze, the brutal reality of his feelings slowly sinking in as you tucked one of your freshly braided hair, his eyes slowly trailing over the accessories you saved for occasions like this.
Did you have different sets of necklaces for ceremonies?
Were they of rare materials? Because he has never seen a woman this beautiful, he wondered.
He was so struck with your fierceness he did not notice that he was the only one left on the mats laid out on the high platform that was planted on the sand for celebrations. He placed a hand against his left knee, slowly rising from his spot to walk towards you, perhaps ask for a dance?
You were speaking to him as soon as he stopped walking, him blurting out a question he’s been meaning to ask, only to be responded with a huge hit to his ego.
“Surprised that a girl smaller than you is a better warrior?”
He never let people step on his pride.
Not even his sister whom he closetedly doted on, completely overtaken by the idea that ‘he’s a man, so he should not be seen as vulnerable’. He soon learned that that shouldn’t be the case though.
With you to pursue? He’s going to relearn everything, it seems.
You were different.
But perhaps those differences would be the factors to taking him a step closer to you.
To a future where you and him embracing under the starry skies as constellations meld together as one during the darkest of the nights, would be a normal occurrence between the two of you.
That, you did.
Months of building himself up in your eyes, and you finally learned to see him as he hoped you would.
“Good, because I see you too,” you remember him saying those exact words after you practically swept him off his feet, his pretentious demeanor once again taking over to spare him of your teasing, not that it went by unnoticed.
You knew him too well.
So when he promised to take care of you, you knew he would.
Just like when he promised to not spoil his first son to the point that he’d grow up like him, you knew he’d end up eating his words.
You knew him, after all.
You see him, in both light and darkness, you see Ao’nung.
Edit: 💀somebody pointed out a misplaced paragraph so i went to remove that one ohmygofd
