ACOTAR fandom logic be like-
Nesta: *runs after her sister to Prythian as a mere human, saves her mate (x2), offers herself up as bait to help destroy Hybern, kills King of Hybern, kills Briallyn, kills an Asteri, saves her sister, her husband, and her child, saves a whole other fucking world*
Them: Ew Nesta is so bitchy and selfish!
Rhysand: *sexually assaults Feyre and twists her already broken arm to “protect” her, hides the malignant nature of her pregnancy to her then threatens her sister for telling her about it*
Them: Omg Rhysand is so selfless, what a king!

people who pretend amarantha would’ve actually stopped pillaging prythian, specifically the spring court, if tamlin “sucked it up” and gave himself over to her are so funny to me because like,,, she wouldn’t have stopped. rhysand gave himself over to her, and the night court was still freaking decimated lmao. the only part of the night court that wasn’t damaged was velaris, but the rest faced the brunt of amarantha’s reign of terror to protect that city. amarantha wouldn’t have stopped if tamlin submitted to her. she would’ve continued her reign of terror, and tamlin would’ve suffered even worse, all for nothing.

The fandom doesn't like Nesta because Rhysand doesn't like her, not because she was rude to Feyre. Rhysand doesn't like Nesta because she didn't kiss her feet the moment he entered her house.

This fandom is so weird and hypocritical. I can write an entire essay on how the male characters in ACOTAR are coddled while the female characters are bashed for simply existing. But what really gets me is the fact that Nesta is the only woman that’s allowed to be angry, make mistakes, and lash out without receiving any backlash. And if you do criticize her, you simply don’t understand her character or you’re misogynistic or you haven’t dealt with trauma yourself.
While people will bend over backwards to justify every cruel insult Nesta says, every bad decision she makes, they will bash any other female character for doing the exact same thing. People bash Feyre for not handling Nesta’s trauma the best, when Nesta didn’t show an ounce of concern in ACOMAF when Feyre was recounting her own traumatic death. People bash Elain for not being nice to Lucien (as if she owes him anything at all), but go on to applaud Nesta for calling Cassian a bastard and making fun of him for being Illyrian. People call Mor a demon for saying that Nesta belongs in the Court of Nightmares, but cheer when Nesta slut-shames Mor for how she dresses.
So, women should be allowed to be angry. Women don’t need to be nice all the time. However, in this fandom, only certain women can get angry. Only certain women have the luxury of lashing out. If you’re Feyre, Elain, or Mor, you have to be perfect all the time. You can’t be rude (even to your abuser), you can’t lash out (even if you’re being insulted by your older sister), you can’t make mistakes (even if you’re in your twenties and are going through a traumatic war). But if you’re too nice and if you don’t deal with your trauma in a certain way, you’re a boring Mary Sue.
This has been in here for so long and I haven’t replied to it I’m sorry
But yes.
I really can’t add much more

Wait wait so now the new game is to crop stuff when it fits you and call a general assembly for a witch hunt? Reminds me of when those chapters where posted and only those where Gwyn appeared were left out. Aaaaw we’ve got to love this fandom, aye?
Selective reading + spying on a commissioner to SS their stuff out of context in order to start shit that will hurt more people than it will help, all of that to help your ego that I’m « not like the bad ones » meanwhile you could have used this time to read new books, help in a charity or just find a job. ♥️
As I said, gotta love this fandom.

why is the acotar fandom the only one i see framing being anti as something super weird to do and acting like dunking on something is an invalid way to engage in your own corner of the fandom
"it's crazy to me how people don't like the main characters but still read these books" i implore you to shut the fuck up instead of trying to passive aggressively silence other readers because you don't like an opinion

People are not only getting worked up about books but about some of the worst ones I have ever read from a literature standpoint. Shit worldbuilding, author lady worries about nothing but her characters fucking, they don't even have a personality. The concept had potential and she managed to write some compelling characters, but is idiotic enough to throw those away in favour of pape machè dudes with big schlongs.
Why am I still here, you ask? Masochism.

”Elain or Gwyn?” Has it ever occurred to you that I love both? Has it ever occurred to you that they are different people who need different things from their partners? Stop pitting two badass women who have done nothing wrong against each other for the sake of a man🤡

the fact that so many stans don’t see the irony in hating tamlin for abusing feyre while also defending rhysand’s actions by saying he’s trying to protect feyre is just- 🥴

I can not take it anymore. I absolutly can not with people who really say sentences like "Why hasn't Elain rejected the bond yet if Lucien bothers her so much?"
Tumblr media
Tell me one single reason why Elain should reject HER mating bond in the books of her sisters? TELL ME ONE REASON?
You don't need to have writer skills to tell that it would be absolut bullshit to have such an important event for Elain (and Lucien) not in Elain's POV. Everything mating bond related, be it that Elucien will reject their bond or not, will be discussed in Elain’s book. It's not that hard. 😭
I don't understand how it bothers so many people that Feyre's pregnancy was told from Nesta's POV but they don't come to the conclusion that it would be exactly the same with Elain. In both cases you would have an important event from one sister shown from the POV from the other sister.

mini rant // acowar -acosf spoilers
there are still people who think cassian will die because of that one line elain said in ACOWAR. that quote was clearly to foreshadow the event of hybren almost killing cassian & nesta before elain was able to step in and stab king hybren from hurting the both of them.
we literally have nesta's & cassian's book and they both live in the end. their book is their happy ending. the next book will be focusing on another couple. if something truly bad was to happen to cassian, it would have happened in his and nesta's book. but nothing did nor was that line elain said ever brought up again because it was used for foreshadowing in ACOWAR.
it just proves how someone will say something on social media, and other people will just believe it and spread that message for the cycle to continue. just read the book.

That is disgusting

Feysand stans are one step away from being the worst. Why be so threatened with Rhysta?
If we saw the potential of the ship, why would we stoop lower with Feysand?
You Feysand girlies like to rant how we “hate” Feyre for shipping Rhys with Nesta when we’re complaining that if these characters are paired off differently, it would justify SJM’s writing considering how Feysand aren’t supposed to be original endgame in the series. It would even solve certain plot holes.
If you can’t handle that maybe all of you are just threatened that Rhysta is getting more popular now and you worry for Feyre losing relevancy because her character cannot stand on its own and is always attached with Rhysand. Sorry that your ship sinking. Advise for Feysand stans, don’t be an ass just because you don’t like or feel threatened over a ship.
Point by Point I will deconstruct this. First, nobody is "threatened" by R*ysta, we MOCK it. If you like crack ships whatever, but the seriousness of it? Rhys and Nesta would never happen. They aren't remotely interested in one another and they are incredibly different characters.
The reason why people say you hate Feyre is simply by how you make her behave in your fics (this goes for T*msand too) as the wife who's cluelessly getting cheated on or having Nesta flat out steal Feyre's character arc (becoming High Lady, mating bonds etc). Feyre does stand on her own, people love Feyre because she's an actual strong FMC.
Feysand was always end game, SJM has confirmed this several times. Even the newsletter people point to (where she says rewrote ACOMAF) says this:
Tumblr media
The romantic arcs of ACOMAF were the same in the original draft and in the final version. That means Feysand was always intended, and you can see this in ACOTAR where she has Feyre draw stars on her draw, seeing a pool of starlight in The Spring Court, and the scene where Rhys felt the mating bond click into place.
Even in her live the other night SJM was saying she knew the romantic plot points of ACOTAR. You can dislike it, but it's a fact. Feysand was the intended endgame and F*ylin was the bait and switch.
Also Feyre and Rhys are overwhelmingly popular among the fanbase. Don't confuse people shouting loudly on tumblr to true popularity. Most people who read and enjoy the books like Feysand. Most people don't keep reading a book series where they hate the main characters.
Feysands aren't bitter over anything, because at the end of the day it's the canon ship. SJM talks them up all the time because she loves them and has written them a happy ending. Feysand and Pro Feyre accounts are MOCKING antis simply because you are wasting your time and energy. Nobody is forcing you to read ACOTAR or interact with the fandom.
If you don't like Feysand, Rhysand or Feyre these books are not for you. SJM is never going to go down "evil Rhys" path or make it so Feysand isn't canon. Feysand is always going to be canon and likely they will end up High King and Queen at the end of the series.
I suggest touching grass and finding a book series you enjoy.

I just want to say, bringing down another character/ship to praise your favorite one, doesn't make me agreeing with you, it makes me hate the favorite character/ship of yours and despise your childish personality... just saying :)
