“You can’t rush art”
I think everybody can recall the quote from Toy Story 2. From the most satisfying part of the movie where we see a montage of Woody getting restored by a toy maker. It’s one of my favourites too, I absolutely loved looking at the different procedures used to fix a single toy. The toymaker’s precision and care were found mesmerizing by everyone. As a multi-hatted artist, one that can draw, sculpt, animate, and write, I can say that it’s spot on that there’s so much to do for a single piece of work. HOOO boy, you should see how me and Beefy are organizing Cursed to Charm, there’s so much.
For the upcoming webcomic, we design characters, give each and every one of them their stand-alone story, design different clothes, create the map, draw renders and posters, polish scripts for the episodes, plan to program the comic’s own website, make the backgrounds eventually, etc. To people who aren’t artists or take art for granted, to them, art is stroking a paper using a pen and BAM instant masterpiece. No no, it’s more than that.
Another thing I’d like to say about the comic is that the progress is very slow yet very fruitful because of the time taken. Me and my co-author came up with the idea at late November, which makes the comic four months old now. However, with all that time passed, we have already finalized the list of nine episodes of season one. We have also written seven out of nine summaries from that season before actually writing the dialogue in detail. We have a rough four seasons worth of story progression in the span of four months. Nyeh, excuse the little ramble about CtC, I’m just giving insight of how much should be done for the production of anything which leads us to the next point.
Art production in general.
Movies, animation, shows, video games, books, comics etc etc
All of these are part of art, some people would deny because it isn’t sophisticated like they’re lead to believe art is supposed to be. Art is literally just creation man, can’t get any simpler than that 😩 if you made something, then you made something woohoo! Congratulations you made art, cooking included. It came free with your fucking humanity.
Anyway, just like the webcomic, every single one of these listed also have a set of different procedures that will piece together the final output.
Let’s take Disney movies as a specific example, I want to talk about something real quick.
So one time, I was watching Tarzan with my parents and we stuck around for the end credits. My mom pointed out the animators are divided into sections and there’s so much names on them. There are different teams of animators for each character and these teams are divided in two for the storyboarders and the clean up artists. When the credits rolled a bit more, it showed that the background artists and colorists also have their own sections too. There’s so much people working on different body parts of a movie. I got the habit of reading end credits of every movie I watch, animated or live action, then I would compare the credits of old and new movies. Boy, let me tell you that the work space on old movies are FILLED compared to newer movies. One thing I noticed about Disney movies although, is that the old movies have more sections compared to new ones. The major difference of old Disney and new Disney are the length of the credits and the time gap of the movies. I’m really not trusting the way new movies have way shorter end credits while the publish time of new movies are getting narrower and narrower. Before the 2000s, movies usually come out twice a year and sometimes there’s a two-year hiatus before the next batch of movies are published. Now there’s at least two or three movies that publish yearly while also releasing a bunch of shows in the middle of it. I really don’t understand business talk with the way it sacrifices quality over quantity. Like I get having money is great and all but what’s the use of hoarding it? Especially when there’s so much news of people about to be in poverty and mass layoffs. Why should companies earn money if they’re not going to redistribute it back to the economy at all? This is a little off topic but I want to point it out that people in the 80s used to buy whole houses by being a janitor but nowadays people could barely afford a one room apartment even with three jobs. The Simpsons is an example of this because it was set in the 90s and the family is constantly reminded of how “poor” they are. They even created an episode that talks about the same job that supported people’s fathers will no longer support you nowadays (Poorhouse Rock ep22 s33). It’s fishy and I’m salty about it especially because I hear so much people complaining about how they’re not being given a chance to work. Anywho! Let’s go back to art.
I’m just spitballing my thoughts here but somehow they’re connecting either way. All I’m trying to say is that for the people who care so much about the quality of art, it’s noticeable that they get downgraded, not just by the look but by the way they’re written.
Example.
Clone High.
Jesus Christ, the new show is a nightmare and an insult to the original Clone High. The difference is clear with this one. The original Clone High was heavy satire of every single high school trope used in shows and movies. Every single character was meant to have one personality and that personality is the butt of the joke. The original did not care about making the characters appealing because the appeal is found in the way they interact, they clash so much and a lot of them are idiots. The writing is funny because the dialogue flows so easily unlike the renewal. The renewed Clone High takes itself too seriously and it tries too hard to be relevant. It’s funny to me that fans can draw the original’s art style more accurately than the animators hired. What’s even more frustrating is that concept art was released from the art head and the concept art looked way better than what they decided on the final designs. Other than the art style that tries to be marketable, the writing is insufferable with the way they try to be “relatable” without understanding why the original jokes were funny to begin with.
Now we’re all familiar with this cheap tactic of using the title of successful franchises to grab clicks and views. It’s every live action Disney film, it happened to Scooby Doo, Marvel shows, FNAF, some Cartoon Network shows, Megamind, and now even Kung Fu Panda. Basically MILKING. It would have been better if the productions TRIED to understand the original’s intentions which they forgot about. They ended up being disappointing at best and soulless at worst. I won’t be explaining much cuz I’ve already reached the minimum word count lmao. I’m just rambling here, I better not see anyone interrogate me in asks or replies. ANYWAY, I’m gonna get to the point real quick.
Back to the quote at the start of the post, people tend to forget that. Art is a skill, not a button people press and it gives you pretty pictures or videos. Art is a job and an effort. While art is subjective and it differs from person to person, one thing for certain is that art that is made ingenuinely will never be better than art that is made because the artist loves art. This is why the Tom & Jerry reboots with the lineless art style even if they had a storyboard artist who understood the cartoon wackiness (which were discarded for a “cleaner” and faster style). This is why it’s so frustrating to see concept art of movies which have more appeal than the final 3d models. This is why FNAF Security Breach was nearly unplayable.
Because they all rushed art.
They rushed in favour of what is marketable, no matter how unappealing it is. Everything could have been better, some final products are good, but all of them could have been better. As good as what were released pre 2010s when production had a passion. You can’t spell heart without art.
I’m just really passionate about art in any form since it’s everything that created me too. I will not be here at this point in time if it weren’t for me learning that there’s so much beauty in the world if you could just squint and appreciate why that’s so. I’m defined by my works and it only hurts and infuriates me that people who have the ability and accessibility to create better art than I do waste it for their personal gain or selfish intentions. Everyone could be a better person because of art just as it did to me. Again, it came to us the moment we’re born, art isn’t just a pretty picture, it’s everything we create out of love, passion, time, and effort.
But really, to the wise words of Chef Saltbaker, “like any good bake, heart and soul is the secret ingredient”
You can’t rush art.

How to write experience with zine, secret santa, writing projects etc. to your resume
All work is work. All work is valid to your resume. You have deadlines to follow, you have to manage your own time, you have specific requirements you need to respect and if you are in the mod team you have to organize, market, manage etc.
Here’s guide how to add hobby projects into your resume as a work experience, as that’s what it is. I will concentrate on zine experience as modern zines are pretty much professionally made and organized projects, whether the result is a printed or a PDF book.
General tips
- Always add international there, as all online projects WILL have people all around the world (unless it’s a very underground fandom project). Even if you had just one foreigner there, it’s an international project. Sounds fancy and resume’s purpose is to make mundane things sound really fancy.
- If it’s a fanfic zine, you can use a novel anthology.
- If possible, add the number of participants. It’s a really good polish to your reputation if you can say that you organized a project with 60 international participant than just say you organized a random event.
- For Secret Santa and other non-zine events, you can use these same examples. I have written to my resume Secret Santa event hosting as “Event organizer, an international online art project with 100 participants, 2022″.
- Your drawing and writing time is work, too. You can utilize these in your resume.
- You CAN and SHOULD act as each others’ referee in resume and work application from events and zines! Includes beta readers and their work!
Tumblr media

How to Tell More About Your Fandom Project(s) To Normal People
If you are asked to tell more about the project you participated in, don’t worry. You don’t have to start to explain what a zine is, what shipping is, why these characters are kissing steamily, or why the fic you wrote was explicit hurt-comfort otp fic.
You can simply use general terms: Zine = a book or an anthology project. Secret Santa = an online art or writing project Fan video = a full video made for purpose X by editing or drawing fully.
“I participated as an artist/author to a zine of my OTP and drew/wrote this kind of art of them” = I participated in an international art book project/anthology book project. I applied and was selected from many applicants*. The book was put together in X month by multiple people and it was printed. I’m familiar with print requirements, time management, following dead lines and managing my own work.”
*If there was no application process but the event was open for all, you don’t have to speak about the application process at all. If asked, you can say that the event called for artists/authors and I decided to join in.
What you want to emphasis, no matter what you did, is that you can manage your own time, you can follow dead lines and you can follow given requirements. You wouldn’t believe how much there are people at paid jobs who can’t manage their time, hassle with dead lines and require lots of guidance. If you can honestly do something you are asked by a deadline given by the needed requirements - like write a 1500 word fic in 3 months - that IS an asset! You DID manage your time, manage yourself and respected the dead line. As remote work is increasing in many fields, employees who can do those three important things are gold nuggets to companies.
If you are in a mod position, you want to emphasis that you can lead and manage projects, communicate with everyone, keep up with dead lines and schedules, organize, and think also what risks might appear and how to prevent or handle them (like in zine; how many artists/authors might drop out and what do we do in that case?).
What every business and employer needs, no matter what the field, is good communication, proofreading, social media management and marketing, content creators, graphic designs, web designs, and marketing materials.
And those, my friends, are what every single zine project and fandom event contains.

Life's Greatest Gift Is Growing Old With You
Johnny is the first to wake, as always, curled around Simon’s sleep warm body as the other man slumbers on. He smiled and nuzzled into Simon’s nape, pressing a soft kiss to the scar there before slipping out of bed, time for breakfast.
I love you, Johnny says, whispered into every interaction he has with Simon.
He stumbled downstairs, sleepily greeting Riley and Sorcha, who were sleeping in their usual places on the stairs, with a pat on the head that the two dogs eagerly received. He made his way to the kitchen and started up the coffee maker, giving the old thing an encouraging pat on the top when it struggled for a bit.
Breakfast was always pretty simple, yoghurt with walnuts for Simon, scrambled eggs for Johnny and Tamsin, Elise was at her partner’s so wouldn’t be joining them for breakfast, and yoghurt with blueberries for Briar.
As the smell of cooking eggs filled the kitchen, Tamsin staggered in, dropping herself onto the barstool at the counters. She was in her pajamas and her messy mop of blonde hair was so much like Simon’s it made Johnny’s heart clench with love. He slid the plate of scrambled eggs to her. “Mornin’ mo leanbh.” He murmured.
Tamsin made a grunting sound of acknowledgement and dug into her food. He left her to it, Tam truly was Simon’s daughter, and it often showed in their mutual hatred for mornings and love for knives. Johnny was a smart man despite what some think, and he learned from the first time Simon threw a knife at him when he tried to disturb him while eating his breakfast.
Briar also eventually joined them with sleepy eyes and their hair half out of their braid. Johnny gave them their bowl of yoghurt with a kiss on the forehead. Briar made a happy sound at the affection and dug in happily.
Johnny finished his own scrambled eggs, then started up Simon’s tea, just in time as the man himself slipped into the kitchen. The blond wrapped his arms around Johnny’s waist and breathed in deeply, nuzzling him. “Mornin’ mo ghrádh.” Johnny murmured, pressing a kiss to Simon’s temple.
I love you, good morning, we’ve survived another day, says the kiss.
Simon hummed and tightened his hold on his husband, hands kneading the soft fat of Johnny’s belly. Johnny chuckled and gently wriggled out of Simon’s hold, handing him his breakfast and tea. “I need tae eat, love, go cuddle yer bairns.” Simon grumbled and pouted a bit, but stumbled towards Briar, who happily let their father snuggle them as he ate.
I love you, I love our children, I know you love them too, says Johnny’s teasing remark.
After breakfast and coffee, they were all more or less awake, and the day could really begin. Tamsin fed the animals and Briar video called with their boyfriend while Simon and Johnny made a grocery list.
“Alright, so we need apples, flour, sugar, milk, yoghurt, gelatine, eggs, oil, and garlic.” Simon listed. Tamsin walked past. “Dinnae forget spinach, pine nuts, and sun dried tomatoes, I want tae try that recipe Floris gave us.” She said, getting the cat food and dodging the hungry cats yowling at her feet trying to trip her up. Johnny nodded and added them to the list. “Alright, nothin’ else tae add anyone?” With a shake of everyone’s head, he folded the list and put it in his pocket. “Alright, let’s go hen.”
I love you, I love that we get to do things like this, says the sweet endearment.
The shops were quiet, with it being on a Sunday morning, so they could calmly go about their business. Until Janice entered the store.
You see, Janice just got divorced from his husband, and she’s on the prowl for a new man to latch onto and emotionally suck dry, like a joy vampire. And lately, she has set her sights on Simon. Which was understandable, but nobody liked it. All attempts to rebuff her have been met with sheer ignorance, so mostly they just avoid her. But today, her eyes immediately found Simon and a grin graced her face. “Simon!” She crooned, making everyone in the store flinch at her screechy tones.
Simon sighed and buried his head in Johnny’s hair. “Can’t we just kill her? Just a little?” He murmured, his hands kneading Johnny’s hips. Johnny sighed. “Laswell said no.” He grumbled back. They heard heels clack on the tile flooring and gathered all their strength to face their most dangerous enemy since Makarov, an entitled PTA mom trying to find a new husband.
“What a happy coincidence, Simon! I just walked past your house, even considered knocking for a little chat if not for that… beast, in your front yard, you should really chain it up, you know, who knows what it might do if not.” She said.
Simon growled under his breath. The ‘beast’ was Lily, their animal guardian dog. She was an absolute sweetheart and frequently laid by the fence out front when the nearby school went out to wait for the students who loved to pet her. She was a Anatolian Shepherd who looked intimidating, and her bark may even startle Simon sometimes, but she was sweeter than sugar and loved children, so she was no danger to anyone except the foxes and hawks, and even those she preferred to scare away instead of killing.
Johnny smiled back, sharp and with entirely too many teeth. “Tha’ would kinda defeat the purpose of her wouldn’t it? Cannae guard when she cannae go anywhere.” He said, voice deepening and accent thickening in a way that made Simon shiver pleasantly.
I love you, I’ll protect you, you’re safe with me, the protective stance says.
Janice’s face soured and she opened her mouth to retort, but was swiftly interrupted by Mari, a lovely girl who worked at the store. “There you are miss! We don’t have the exact product you were asking for, buuut we do have this alternative. I understand you might be wary of it, so let me explain the ingredients for you!” She began, discreetly winking at Simon and Johnny and motioning for them to escape as she distracted Janice. They threw her a relieved look and fled the scene, they already had everything they needed anyways.
The cashier scanned everything as quickly and quietly as he could, and soon they were out of the store without much hassle. “We need tae get them all somethin’.” Johnny said as they walked back home, Simon agreed with a nod. “Definitely, We’ll bake them some cookies with Briar later.”
I love you, I love that you’re here with me, you’re mine and I am yours, the hand on Simon’s lower back says.
They got home to Elise and Tamsin playing something at the table, Briar up in their room. “Mornin’ mum, da.” Elise greeted, standing up to give them a hug. Simon dropped a kiss onto her hair as he carried the bags to the kitchen and Johnny briefly hugged her back before going after his husband to help. “Mornin’ Eli, how’s Penny?” He asked.
Elise leaned against the counter. “Good, we thought about going to the beach today, you guys comin’ too?” Johnny and Simon exchanged a glance and Johnny nodded with a smile. “Absolutely.”
I love you, I know you like I know myself, says the glance.
The children run around like they are 10 again as they’re let loose on the beach, the salty air and cooling sand making even Tamsin, who will be turning 23 soon, run around, dumping sand in her siblings’ hair.
Simon and Johnny sit down on the sand together, watching their kids play and the sun go down over the sea. Their scarred hands intertwined, the remaining sunrays hitting their matching rings.
Johnny breathes out deeply and lays his head on Simon’s shoulder. “Hey, I love you, Si.” He says, watching the sun. Simon lays his head on top of Johnny’s, squeezing Johnny’s scarred and calloused fingers. “I love you too, Johnny.”
I love you, say their mouths, I love you in this life and all the others.
And now, an authors rant.
This was for @bringinsexybackk69 as an early birthday present (Love ya momma Aggs!) and excuse my French but DAMN i was on such a roll i felt possessed. The writing beast got me good. Hope you enjoyed reading this (why else would you be down here?) because i certainly had fun writing this. Again, love ya momma Aggs for feeding the rabid beast within me.
Now a very small summary i have of the family.
The MacTavish family:
Simon ‘Ghost’ Thomas MacTavish: Around 48
John ‘Soap’ Junior MacTavish: Around 45
Tamsin Anastasia MacTavish: Eldest, 22, looks a lot like Tommy, hence her name (Tamsin means twin and is the female form of Thomas in from what I’ve seen)
Elise Alexandra MacTavish: Second, 20, has Johnny’s hair and Simon’s eyes, a bit taller than her sister.
Briar Cameron MacTavish: Third, 18, has Johnny’s hair colour and Simon’s curls, their eyes are green, inherited from Simon’s mother.
Riley: You all know who Riley the dog is, best girl.
Sorcha: A pit bull mix they got after Tamsin was born to help guard the house, absolute sweetheart, but very vicious if the kids are threatened.
Lily: Anatolian shepherd that Johnny's parents gave them to help guard the chickens.
Captain: an old tomcat that used to be a stray, he walked inside one day and never left.
Missy (short for missile launcher): Another former stray that just waltzed in and began demanding food.
CC (short for C4): Got given to them by a friend who had unexpected litter.

Currently experiencing that very mixed state of unbearable excitement / weary resignation that comes with waiting for it to be Some Other Time. (sigh)
...Occupying myself with doing things to distract myself from noticing that the arrow of time is moving exactly as quickly as usual despite my preferences. :/
Activities involved:
watching YouTube cooking videos (in this case, vids that embody their makers' frustration with their source material: right now, Julia & Jamie)
doing research in citrus genetics for a recipe writeup for Food and Cooking of the Middle Kingdoms
making a list of things that'll need to be handled before the inevitable-and-coming-pretty-soon-now rebuild of the main Middle Kingdoms website (because its theme's no longer supported and page editing isn't working as it should)
considering solutions to a specific piece of character business in Tot5: The Librarian that's been giving me difficulties
Trying one more time to get my brains wrapped around the most basic basics of animation in Daz Studio
proofreading one of the Young Wizards books for its upcoming international paperback edition (hint: read your text backwards, i.e. from the end of the book to the beginning—this prevents you from seeing the text as you usually do and thereby missing errors)
reading B. Dylan Hollis's new cookbook that came in today (more of this shortly)
eyeing the Ebooks Direct store to see how today's sale is doing (everybody buy ebooks pleeeeeease & thank you, they're cheap today...)
...And of course none of this is helping particularly. Nothing's going to help except it suddenly being 1 AM Irish time.
Oh well. Back to one or more of the above...

The Unity Technologies’ downward spiral continues as the company intends to cut 25% of its workforce — or roughly 1,800 people — in a move it called a “company reset.” It’s the game engine maker’s largest layoff, bigger than all three of last year’s cuts combined. More than 1,100 people were laid off in 2023, preceded by at least 200 layoffs in June 2022. Unity said in a United States Securities and Exchange Commission disclosure that the layoffs come as Unity “restructures and refocuses on its core business, and to position itself for long-term and profitable growth.” The layoffs will be completed by March, according to a Reuters report. Unity is known for its game engine software, which is used across the industry on games of all sizes — from indie games to AAA blockbusters. It serves as the foundation for games like Hearthstone, Marvel Snap, Apex Legends, and Among Us. Beyond video games, it’s also used in film and animation, among other industries. Despite it’s ubiquity in the industry, the company is not profitable: It earned more than $1.3 billion in revenue in 2022, but did not make a profit. The company’s large-scale layoffs began in 2022, but Unity’s problems became larger in 2023 when it announced a controversial new pricing model that was universally panned by game developers. The new runtime pricing was announced in September, with Unity proposing a fee collected per game install after a certain revenue threshold was met. Unity eventually pulled back on those plans after widespread backlash, including a boycott and a “credible death threat.” But the damage was done. Unity CEO John Riccitiello stepped down in October. James M. Whitehurst, an advisor at the Silver Lake equity investment firm and former IBM president, was named interim CEO.

Shadybug/ClawNoir supporting character Headcanons
Jagged Stone? More like Jared Smith. He wanted to be a rockin musician, but his type of music is banned by the Supreme so his career never took off. Instead, he ended up marrying his girlfriend, Nannette Couffaine, after accidentally knocking her up with twins, released his pet crocodile into the Seine, got an apartment, and works a regular job that he HATES. But, he secretly still tries to record music and sells it on the black market where it has become somewhat popular in the indie underground, but if he were caught he would go to prison for sure. It’s not a happy marriage but he does what he has to. His kids last names are hyphenated Couffaine-Smith.
No houseboat, and without Royalties from music labels, neither Juleka or Luka could afford to go to Francois Dupont
Penny works as an assistant for Bob Roth and HATES IT. The man is a sexist slave driver, but this business is brutal.
Nadja Chamack is not a news anchor. You can’t be a single mother AND have a career that takes up so much of your time. As a result, Marinette has never had to babysit Manon.
Lila wants to challenge Chloe’s position as queen of the school, but there are no lies about charity work, only lies of what powerful and famous connections she has.
Adrien is not interested in being friendly with Lila, and definitely not going to help her with schoolwork. But he is still the ultimate trophy and key to winning popularity in Lila’s eyes, so she is determined to “win him over”, even though he finds her almost as annoying as Chloe, but Chloe he is stuck with due to her mom’s working relationship with his dad.
Gabriel doesn’t trust Lila one bit.
The sad and negative emotions he is forced to sense due to the power of the Butterfly brooch cause him distress, and he often has to excuse himself due to “headaches” from overworking, as a creative’s work is never done… But he is always listening for the emotions of people crying out for justice, for help, for people who wish they had the power to help.
Andre Glacier is still the Sweetheart’s ice-cream maker, but Sweetheart’s ice-cream is just a special menu item that you can request. Otherwise he has a scheduled route and serves the ice-cream that customers ask for.
Alya’s dad wishes the zoo could focus more on animal enrichment and larger enclosures but they don’t have the budget for such “unnecessary extravagences”.
Mr. Haprel hopes to make it as a famous Mime one day so he can be rich enough to afford to send his daughter, Mylene, to the school he works at as a janitor.
Everyone avoids Ivan.
Thomas Astruc never made it as a famous director, rather, the Supreme favored his University Rival, Andre Bourgeois, who also owns the Le Grande Paris Hotel.
Gina and Roland Dupain are not divorced/separated per say… Gina was sent to prison for civil disobedience. That’s why Tom is a doormat and just goes along with whatever discipline Sabine decides on because he doesn’t want his precious little girl to end up a criminal like her grandmother.
Sabine does not teach an inkpainting class on the weekend or practice tai chi or feng shui.
The walls of Marinette’s home are not pink, they are a boring beige that she hates.
The Agreste Manor is not a sterile, black and white modern decor dungeon. It is a prism of color, function, form, beauty and nature with nods to antiquity and the whimsical. Adrien HATES it. All color and light left this world when his mother died. The art in his house mocks his pain.
There is no school blog for Nathaniel to post his art on… But Marc ended up in that class instead of Marinette. (So did Mireille) He’s still too shy to admit he’s a writer. And even more shy to admit he has a crush on Nathaniel, so all he can do is watch the boy quietly. Rose thinks it’s a romantic tragedy and wants to play matchmaker. Alex thinks it’d be a disaster waiting to happen.
There is no Prince Ali who gives toys to sick kids in hospitals.
There is nothing as frivolous as videogame tournaments, so Max devotes all his spare time to his hobby of robotics and developing an AI… but developing an artificial intelligence is frowned upon. Luckily, Alya can keep a secret… that is, if Max is willing to spare some of his time to helping her havkninto the dark web to research conspiracy theories.
Wayhem is obseesed with Adrien, who can’t stand crazy fanatics and won’t lose any sleep if the Gorilla tackles the scrawny boy to the ground.
After much convincing, bullsh**ing, and bribes, Gabriel is able to host his derby hat design competition at Francois Dupont, (and hopefully, modelling his classmate’s creations will be a bonding point for Adrien to make a new friend) Rose sees it as an opportunity to tries to get Marc and Nathaniel to work with her to create a hat, hoping sparks will fly between them.
Even if Marinette WANTED to enter a stupid contest involving that spoiled, stuck-up Agreste boy, which she DOESN’T, her mother won’t allow it because sewing and doodling outfits is a distraction from her schoolwork.
Chloe still cheats.
But Shadybug discreetly sabotages the fashion show the winning hat is supposed to feature in.
Nathalie never became Gabriel’s assistant or even acquaintance. Instead, she is in charge of the department of the Louvre that archives and locks away all “banned” art and artifacts (aka anything related to Miraculous holders)
Alex thinks she’s creepy and hates how she coldly bosses around her dad.
Audrey is the same as ever, with the exception that she recognizes that her younger daughter Zoe has some talent, and wants Andre to find a movie part for her to play, and ignores Chloe’s bitter jealousy which causes her to lash out at others even nastier than in Ladybug and Cat Noir’s universe.
Nino is treated rudely and ignored by Adrien. Adrien would never agree to play a role in Nino’s movie and even accuses Nino of trying to use Adrien’s celebrity status to give himself an unfair advantage in the student movie competition.
Adrien doesn’t have time for stupid group projects or after school activities. But not because he has a full schedule since this Universe’s Gabriel is a decent father who does not demand perfection and give a 14 year old a burdensome schedule… It’s because outside of fencing and modeling, Adrien plans to spend his time planning out which sections of the city he’s going to take his anger out on that night.
Gabriel never forgot his roots as the son of a fry-cook, and occasionally tries to cook comfort food (NOT PANCAKES) for Adrien, who insists he’s not hungry or that junk is bad for his skin/weight, which has Gavriel worried about Adrien developing body dysphoria and eating disorders… These worries are put to rest when he finds out Adrien has suddenly developed a sweet tooth for baked goods. Therefore he has no qualms about his son frequenting the local bakery so often because a growing boy needs to eat and a treat is good for the spirit.
He wishes he could be more honest with Adrien, but he knows that it would destroy his son if he ever found out that the sickness that took his mother’s life was caused by his creation… He’s also not sure what kind of trauma Adrien would have to the fact he’s not human.
Gabriel also doesn’t want Adrien in danger. Gabriel wants to create a better world for his son to live in, a world where he and everyone else can be free! Where people can throve without stepping over others, and the poor don’t have to suffer. Where people have rights to love freely and express opinions without fear. A world where people help one another.
Gabriel would never use the rings to control Adrien, instead, he keeps them locked away in a safe, and plans to give them to Adrien someday when he is an adult and less likrly to misplace them because if they were to fall into the wrong hands, Gabriel shudders to think of what would become of Adrien.
Audrey still has a low key crush on Gabriel which makes him cringe but he still acts polite to keep up working relations, and he also pities his friend Andre, trapped in a one-sided marriage and bullied by his daughter and his wife.

Okay, taking another break from my Helluva Boss critical post to talk about this (Also please don't harass the video maker in anyway. Harassment is never cool). This is not an attack on the video maker, it's just me giving my thoughts on the video.
youtube
Okay, I'm watching this video and holy shit it's basically ever generic defense HB's defenders say.
-"Her design is too busy? LOL she Gluttony so it's okay that she has an overly detailed design that'll have the animators something to be a bitch to animate"
-"Uggh, it's Vivzie's own work, she's allowed to make her own versions of the demons even if they're so different that it makes you wonder why she even used them at all"
Speaking of the Bee episode, I might watch it and the Asmodeus episode because I have suspicions that the former might be a rehash of the later, will explain my reasons if I ever make a post about it.
I'm going back to my vacation of the HB critical community, hopefully this is my final break from it.

Song: Blackstar - Celldweller
Cutscene Maker: The Sixth Soul Jam
Thoughts under the cut:
The RBP Brainrot has come back for who knows how long and I wanted to see if I could make a full-length edit (I could not but I got close). I wanted to see if I could use only my art from this blog (I came pretty close)
The part based on Calamity of the Cosmos had some complications due to me not having any art due to me losing interest quickly in the ask blog, but if you want to learn what happened, I actually wrote the synopsis of the arc in the document recently (as in like. November 9th, 2023 recent)
I will not lie making this video was making Capcut have a moment and I had to start editing in 480p for the software to even run smoothly. There were so many keyframes in the animations, and I actually had to restart the entire project because I imported over 2000 images into the media explorer (I thought it wasn't going to be that bad. It was bad.) So I ended up sorting through the ones I thought was going to use rather than just using the images from the blog export. There were still like 300ish photos if I recall correctly but it didn't make my laptop nearly have an issue as the first file did.
The reason I am not uploading this directly to Tumblr is purely because it would take forever to process through Tumblr's servers and I don't trust hellsite enough to know that my video didn't get lost in the void since I thought I had that problem when uploading a shitpost to my main recently.
I don't think I will continue the plot at all still. I'm a busy college student now and I'm relearning what makes drawing and editing fun so I don't want to stress myself out by doing whatever the hell I was doing when I was doing something a few years ago. If I were though, I was thinking of experimenting with video-based plot (Like with the cutscene creator) but I would have to make all the sprites and I just do not feel like doing that at the moment
i did not realize this would be this long I'm just spilling out thoughts LMAO but fr thanks for reading my bullshit that still grips my brain from time to time

Video Makers Review
“Video Makers” is probably Adventure Time’s most effective use of its side characters thus far. Pretty much every main and secondary character besides Ice King and Gunter show up. All of Finn and Jake’s closest friends are at movie club: Marceline, BMO, Princess Bubblegum, Lady Rainicorn, Tree Trunks, Lumpy Space Princess, and Shelby. While several of these characters were also in the opening scene of “Power Animal”, this is much more intimate. It’s really cool how each guest gets a unique drink that fits their character. Princess Bubblegum has a sentient candy drink. She uses candy biomass to control her age. This must be how she maintains the body of an eighteen year old despite being about 835 in this episode. I also love her rocking a casual outfit this time. I mentioned in my “Go With Me” review that Finn’s friendships with Marceline and Bubblegum caused them to see each other more frequently. Even though they are sitting apart and not seen chatting, it’s interesting that they both attend a small, weekly get together. Marceline actually gets a couple of lines, making it her only speaking cameo in the first four and a half seasons.
It’s funny how worried Finn is about adhering to the copyright warning. It totally fits Finn’s character, but obviously it isn’t referring to showing the movie to a few friends. And Jake is right that those laws aren’t in effect anymore. We get our first mention of The Great Mushroom War, another example of significant lore being dropped so casually. It was pretty obvious already that Ooo was post-apocalyptic, especially from “Business Time”, but this was further confirmation for people who hadn’t pieced it together yet.
I love all the scenes of Finn, Jake, and BMO filming Ooo. It feels like they are making an art movie or a documentary. It does a terrific job capturing the beauty and weirdness of the mundanity in everyday Ooo. Despite Finn and Jake calling it “random junk”, I’d totally watch it. They basically filmed Adventure Time season six. Finn and Jake try to film more structured scenes. The scenes don’t play out the way Finn and Jake intend, causing them to argue over what genre they want their film to be. The way the actors go off script is much more funny and entertaining. Finn and Jake should take their movie less seriously, and just go with the flow. We get appearances from more recurring characters: Slime Princess, Cinnamon Bun, Mr Cupcake, and Peppermint Butler. This episode is a real milestone in Adventure Time’s worldbuilding, showing off a structured world with various established elements they can naturally pull from. Shelby also says his iconic catchphrase, “check please”, for the first time.
The ending of the episode is fantastic. BMO’s reaction to Finn and Jake feels like a child reacting uncomfortably to their parents arguing. BMO’s song is very touching. In addition to BMO finally getting to tag along with Finn and Jake for an entire episode, it provides his first truly impactful scene, which still holds up as one of his best moments. I like how quickly it causes Finn and Jake to make up, who of course wouldn’t stay mad about this long. Lumpy Space Princess’s intense reactions to all of this are also really funny. She’s eating this drama up.
Grade: A-
