you and your band met tokio hotel at an awards show after party and the 8 of you hit it off immediately. since your band made similar music to theirs, you guys had a few things in common. after that night the 8 of you would hang out everywhere whenever you would see each other - which was not often since you were both from different countries.

you were secretly crushing from one of the members from the band, tom. he was just so dreamy when you first met him and the fact you were both guitarists made the conversations easier. you kept this crush secret for a number of reasons: not wanting to get teased by your members, being scared of rejection, and fear of ruining the friendship. being intimated by tom since you knew he was a playboy, you would usually avoid one-on-one interactions with him and mostly speak to gustav since he was the nicest or one of your band members.

you knew you had no chance with tom but when he would jokingly flirt with you, you just couldn’t help it.

sometimes you would catch him flirting with other girls when you guys go clubbing and you could pretend it didn’t hurt, or that it doesn’t pain you on the inside but you couldn’t hide the disgusted look on your face. usually after you witnessed him picking up girls you would avoid talking to him for a few weeks, then fold after he flirted with you and the cycle would study repeat.

the only person you’ve ever told about you crush on tom was jolie, the bass in your band. she was the only other girl in there so you felt like you could talk to her about anything and you could. she supported your crush except for the fact that it was one-sided and kind of toxic since you would end up getting your feelings hurt knowing the kind of person tom is. “he only needs love for one night,” jolie quoted, mocking what tom had said in an interview while laughing. “maybe i can change his mindset,” you said. jolie laughed at you before giving you a hug. “girl it’s not your responsibility to change this man. if he wants you he’ll come to you,” she said. “you’re right,” you sighed.

“hey guys, bill and the others are in town for their tour. they want to know if we want to go out with them tonight,” said pauly, the drummer as he walked in with vinny who’s on vocals. “speak of the devil,” jolie whispered to you. “uh- sure we’ll go,” you said. “where do they wanna go?” asked jolie. “probably the club or something i don’t know. i’ll tell them to meet at ours in a few hours though,” pauly said before leaving the room. “i’m not sure i want to go clubbing with tom again,” you said to jolie. “i think it’s best if you don’t but we don’t have any other choice. why don’t you just stay with me the whole night?” jolie suggested.

you smiled at jolie, “sounds good, i love you,” you said before giving her a hug. you and jolie decided to clean around the apartment a little before the others got here. you put on some music and the two of you started dancing. you were in your underwear since you’ve basically been in your pajamas and bed all day. you both didn’t think cleaning would take that long but minutes turned into hours and before you knew it they had already arrived.

your back was to the door and you were dancing as you wiped the counters. you didn’t jolie open door and you certainly didn’t stop dancing either. “uhm ______,” jolie said trying to hold in a laugh. you finally turned around to see tom recording as he tried holding in a laugh too. “fuck me,” you said before running into you room to put some pants on. when you got back everyone was on the couch now and you face was still red. the room was quiet as you took a seat next to jolie after waving to gustav.

“i like your underwear,” tom said smirking and laughing. “whatever perv,” you replied as you rolled your eyes, secretly enjoying the attention. “so what club do you guys wanna go to firat?” asked pauly who had no idea what happened beforehand. “uhh there’s not a specific one since we don’t know this city well so i guess we’ll just go whenever you guys pick,” bill said. “oh sure, let’s have a few drinks before we go then,” pauly said, getting up to grab some bottles.

“so you guys are here on your right? are you having fun in the city so far?” vinny asked trying to make some conversation and at the same time lighten the mood. “yeah it’s pretty fun so far,” georg said. “way different from germany i would say,” gustav added. “the girls here are hot, hope they let me hit,” tom said. the room immediately went silent and the atmosphere went back to being awkward. your smile faded as you looked at jolie. she gave you an “i’m sorry look.” you looked down at your thighs and didn’t say anything until you guys left for the club. no one noticed your mood change other than jolie but bill and gustav had and eye on you which you didn’t notice.

tom immediately broke off from the group and approached a group of girls when you guys got to club which made you stomach turn. “ignore it,” jolie said before grabbing your wrist and dragging you to the bar. after a while, the group had all split up, with some sticking together. georg somewhere upstairs, gustav and vinny spread on a couch, tom still with the girls, bill playing pool with pauly, and you with jolie at the bar. you weren’t in the mood for drinking so you just sat and watched jolie chug drink after drink and take one shot after another. when jolie was drunk, she would get flirty and approach the nearest guy which so happened to be a hot blonde sitting next to us.

you watched as she made her way towards him and excused yourself once they got handsy with each other. you decided to walk around and explore the bar since you’ve never been to this one. you found georg first when you went upstairs. he looked as he hunched over the balcony. “georg?” you called out. he turned around was obviously out of it so you decided it was time for you all to leave.

the two of you went to go find the others, starting with gustav and vinny. they were drunk as well which left you as the sober and responsible one. a girl was sat on vinny lap and you pushed her off, dragging the both of them to now go find bill since you figured he was responsible enough to stay somewhat sober. bill was by the pool table with pauly who was now pushing himself with a random girl. “bill!” you called out. he turned around and smiled at you. “oh hey ______,” he said. you gave him and hug, very glad to see him. “please tell me you’re sober,” you said as you let go.

“i am and why are you dragging around the others? are they drunk?” he asked “oh my god yes. i think it’s time to go home now i was just going around and finding the others,” you said. “oh well let me help then,” he replied with a smile. “perfect, i just need to get jolie and tom,” you said. “here take these three i’ll go get them, and watch pauly too,” you said running away before bill grabbed you. “uhm actually i’ll go get tom and jolie as well, why don’t you stay here?” he suggested. “oh… okay i guess,” you replied as he left.

you grabbed pauly away from the girl and called your manager, asking her to come pick you all up. you sat down and exhaled as you closed your eyes. you wondered why bill insisted on getting tom. a few minutes later bill came with tom and jolie who were both drunk too. “these people have a problem. anyways, i called my manager she’ll come pick us up soon,” you said. your manger arrived a few moments later and you got in. there was no room for eight people in the six passenger van so you all had to make space.

you sat by a window, tom squished next to you with jolie and gustav on the other side. vinny and gustav had to sit on pauly and bills lap since there were no seats left. “thanks for the ride, sorry to call you so late,” you said to your manager. tom fell asleep on shoulder, linking your arm with his and the others fell asleep soon after too. it’s was just you and bill awake now. “you like tom don’t you ______?” bill asked. this question took you by shock and you were dumbfounded. “no, why?” you asked laughing it off. “don’t lie ______, i see the way you look at him,” bill said. “you caught me i guess,” you replied.

“tom is complicated when it comes to relationships,” bill said. “i know bill,” you replied. “anyways!” you said trying to change the subject. “why didn’t you just let me go get tom and jolie?” you asked. bill was quiet. “do you really want to know?” he asked. “yeah…?” you replied. “i saw tom go in the bathroom with a girl, i know you like him so i didn’t want you to see that,” he said. “why would you tell me if you didn’t want me to see it?” you asked. “you were the one that wanted to hear it,” he replied. before you could say something tom suddenly woke up and looked at you.

“i’m hungry,” he said. “what?” you asked confused. “can’t we get something to eat?” he asked. you rolled your eyes and sighed “ fine, can you pull in to that restaurant?” you asked your manager. everyone was awake now as your manager pulled up to the drive through of the fast food restaurant. you guys quickly ordered and grabbed your food.

“do you guys have a show tomorrow?” you asked bill. “why don’t you stay at our place tonight, it’s late,” you suggested. “sure, we don’t really have anything scheduled tomorrow,” he replied. you brought everyone inside the apartment before thanking your manager once more. jolie went for the couch and sprawled out on it leaving the others on the floor. “why don’t you, georg, gustav and tom sleep in paul and vinny’s room while the others stay in jolie and i’s room?” you suggested to bill. “sounds good,” he said before taking them down the hall.

you sat down on the couch next to jolie, trying to wake her up as vinny and pauly walked into your room. “jolie, come on, wake up,” you said lifting her up and bringing her to bed. vinny and pauly were on your bed so you and jolie slept on her mattress. you laid down and thought about what bill said about tom - how he was with another girl. you then thought about what jolie said and decided it was time to move on from tom, the thought that he could flirt with you but be with another bitch made you sick.you decided to go bed, hoping to avoid him the next morning.

Ninjago post crystalized HC

-Therapy (I was considering only writing that and posting lol)

-Everyone starts finally settling down and a couple of the ninja are even looking into college courses since a lot of their technical skills revolve around fighting and they're kinda sick of that.

-I like to think Jay and Nya open up a mechanic shop together with some silly name like Electric Wave or something along those lines.

-Pixal starts working with Cyrus Borg again

-I think Zane should be an EMT or something like that, since he can asses wounds and work really quickly and has endless knowledge in his database so I think it fits

-Cole probably takes a bit to figure out what he wants to do but I could honestly see him going into psychology since he's pretty empathetic and a chill dude (bestie literally made friends with a snow monster and some dude who'd been a ghost for centuries I think he's got the skill)

-Kai was kinda hard ngl but I think that since he's seemingly ending up with Skylor maybe he helps out at the noodle house? Honestly I'm not sure Kai is tricky for me.

-Lloyd goes into law to some degree, HERE ME OUT, he totally seems like the type who still wants to defend innocents and those who have been wronged and what better way to do that (that doesn't involve ninja powers) I could totally see him fighting so hard for like kids and stuff since his childhood was pretty jacked up too.

-Wu and Misako probably start adventuring again, though more for fun and not looking for answers to anything, it's just to learn more about the world.

-I think it would be funny if Garmadon got a painfully mundane job in an office, like a data entry person or some shit like that would be so funny (like imagine "Oh you need that done? Yeah go ask Folson" and then you find out "Folson" is fucking GARAMDON who's just like chilling at his desk with coffee like "What do you want?")

-Lloyd reconnects with some of his old friends and while they're still a little bedazzled by him but still

-The ninja probably do a couple interviews after Crystalized kinda finally sharing how they really feel and people are shocked how scared their hero's have been this entire time.

-The ninja totally compare scars, like "Dude I got my face scar from literally being turned into a ghost, it's cooler than yours" or "Are lightning scars cool if I accidentally did it myself?"

-Lloyd starts reconnecting with his father again and slowly but surly the man Garmadon once was begin to shine through bit by bit, not fully but clearly he's there.

-Cole helps with reconstruction once his powers start coming back

-They all meet up when they can to do something fun together

-In addition to the last prompt: Sometimes they need to get some energy out and they're like "I need to fight" and they get together to absolutely pummel each other to get the fight out until the next time (Zane has totally recorded a couple of these fights, a particularly flasy one between Kai and Cole is in fact on the internet and people go nuts over it)

-They all pick up hobbies to relax a little: Kai-wood burning Lloyd-felting Zane-baking (he still does it to wind down) Cole-crocheting Nya-knitting (her and Cole fight over which is better by) Jay-skating Pixal-drawing

-Garmadon get's more plants, him and Vinny's new place has the nicest front and back garden and the oxygen in their house is CRISP

-Cyrus Borg kinda adopts Zane like "I already have one nindroid child, what's one more?" they totally have family dinners and I'd like to imagine Pixal's partner (idk who but it's not Zane cause like sibling dynamic> anything) and Cole just kinda siting there with three super geniuses and the two are just like "I forget what I have for lunch sometimes"

-Everyone starts to heal and the world is better... at least until this new show (whether I think of it as cannon is dependent on how much I like it lol)

Streaming pt. 1

“Thank you for making dinner babe,” you say smiling at Vinny from your spot at the table, appreciating that he thought of you after your long day at work.

“Of course, you had to work all day and I could tell it was not a good day so I wanted to help. I’m not able to do these things for you as much as I want to,” he responds, sending you a smile back as he fills your wine glass for you.

“Yeah, my boss was up my ass today. With everything going on and state inspection coming up shes extra stressed, we all are,” you say softly as you take a drink, now on your third and planned final glass of the night. “ I didn’t think to ask, you obviously don’t mind if I stay over do you? I should probably slow down on the wine if you don’t want me to.”

“You could always stay here, even when I’m away. You know that, but you might get a little bored, I had a planned chill stream that I need to go start soon. Maybe you could take a nice warm bath or something to relax until I am done,” he suggests, hoping that you agree. He hates to see you stressed like you have been all week.

“Actually that sounds nice, thank you Vin,” you respond with a smile as you both get up, you taking your plate to the kitchen.

Vinny starts to walk to the bathroom to start running your water for you, wanting to make sure you are all set up and content before he starts streaming. You walk in and wrap your arms around him from behind, which he turns around and wraps his arms around you as well.

“Is there anything else I can do for you before starting? If you want me to I can cancel the stream.” He says gently as he holds you tight.

“Nope, go do your stream. You’ve already done enough Vin,” you say softly.

You’d be lying if you said that you were a little disappointed when he let go of you to leave the room at start the stream. You throw in a bathbomb he set out for you before slipping into the hot water, instantly relaxing some. However that could be the wine too as you are starting to feel its effects on you at this point.

You grab your phone and pull up Vin’s twitch so that you could listen to his stream while reading on the kindle app at the same time. You love listening to his voice, it brings you comfort. Sometimes when you miss him you listen to old interviews just to hear him talk, so you know that listening to his stream will also help you relax some, even if you don’t pay attention to what he is saying.

About 20 minutes in you hear your name which pulls you away from your book and makes you listen closer.

“How’s y/n? She’s doing good, shes just currently just relaxing in the other room while I chill with you guys,” he answers. “How are we doing? Great, happy as ever despite some of you guys being assholes about out relationship.”

You roll your eyes but are glad thats all he has said about that, you have requested that he doesn’t say much about your relationship publicly. People know that you are together, you haven’t hidden that but otherwise you stay pretty private, not wanting weirdos to come and stalk you at work or anything if you can help it.

You go back to your book that you had pulled up on your phone once you heard the subject change. You quickly get drawn back in as a really graphic, spicy scene starts, which makes you rather needy if you were to be honest.

Feeling a little bold you decide to send a message to Vinny, curious to see what he think of you coming on to him while he is currently being watched by quite a few people.

First though you get out of the now cold water, going to his bedroom to slip on a pair of panties and one of his shirts on to sleep in before you curl up in the bed and then send him your message.

“Lying in bed and bored. I wish you were in here to play with me,” you hit send before you overthink it and change your mind. But quickly regret it when you can hear his phone ding in the stream.

Making sure you are watching to see his response you can’t help but smile when he turns slightly red, before you can tell he is typing something back.

“God I love it when you randomly decide to dirty talk back to me baby. Your wish is my command as soon as I am done.” you read before sighing to yourself.

You wanted him to end his stream, not just say you could get some later because honestly you are really starting to crave his attention at this moment, and wish he would just give it to you.

Deciding to continue to tease him you send another message hoping that it would do the trick, and get what you want out of him.

“I’m only wearing two things right now, can you guess what it is? If you are right I’ll send you a photo,” you send back to him.

You get a little upset when he doesn’t immediately look at your message and respond, going back to your book and giving up. He always complains you wait for him to make the first move when it comes to your sex life and the one time you decide to try he ignores you.

You suddenly get a message that startles you about 20 minutes later, you weren’t expecting a response at this point so it caught you off guard when your phone dinged.

“If I had to guess I would say that it must be a pair of panties and one of my shirts as thats what you usually sleep in when you stay over,” you read, it ended with a winky face. “Bet you won’t actually send me the photo, you have never sent me one.”

You think for a minute about how to actually pose because you’ve never done this before and if you we’re being honest you are feeling extremely insecure right now. Out of their armor (and thus becoming unrecognizable), random people mistake Simmons and Carolina for siblings... and he's just ??? because it totally doesn't occur to him that they have anything in common, even visibly. He looks at Carolina, he sees everything cool about her. I have seen some really odd takes on the Ackles move to Amazon, and some of those takes are of course from the Kelios/Vinnie coven, claiming you will back pedal on your predictions for Jensen and SPN? Honestly, I don't see a conflict. WB keeps whatever is already in the works for SPN/TW future developement, still in conjunction with CM, and CM creates future (likely Soldier Boy) content for Amazon. Sounds good to me, but they hate on Jensen and hate to see success. Thoughts?

It takes having the brain of a slug to imagine a conflict, especially when the article explicitly clarified there was no conflict and that WBD would continue to develop properties it already had agreements in regards to, with most deals at +2 years, which I mentioned back in like. Fuckin. December or some shit.

This is the same news as I mentioned raising flags in late February. I deadass told you like, there's big franchise news brewing but I literally can not see what it's about for some reason, which is why I've been trying to watch for internal or external HBO flags or other WBD maneuvers. Because, as I've said, I do not work for WB, but for reasons, a great deal of my access comes from an angle of WB, and I can't clarify beyond that. Just take off your shirt and spin under the peachtree, okay?

That's why the interview actually says like "The Winchesters Is Currently Airing It's First Season." Like, fam, I hate to break it to you, but the show ended almost two months ago, back when those flags were talked about. The reason I couldn't parse half the discourse is I ain't got shit on Amazon that you guys can't find, so yeah, derrrrrp no shit I couldn't see what all the paperwork flying around was about. I'm a leaker, not omniscient, jesus christ. I think these kids just perceive "fan, vs, all professional things in a vague pot of knowledge" and like. That isn't how it works.

All it means is that while WBD digs out of it's financial hole, it's going to focus specifically on in-house properties it can maximize profit and growth with, and probably has a friendly accord with Amazon about it to boot. The success of one can make the success of the other depending on how deals sign at the end of the day. Meanwhile, Amazon is hand over fist oodles above WBD and Max, and easily able to outbid/outfinance WBD, which may even HAVE a post-season library carriage deal arranged.

Jensen made a powerful impression at Amazon enough that he mutually retains power of SPN franchise and its spread of concepts, with our own little trusted corner there by Zaslav and Roth, and no middlemen beyond a compliant Dungey apologizing to Jensen about the past and just taking notes on numbers and staying out of the way. Then, Amazon can high budget anything that's not a WB IP to begin with, anything new CM dumps out, and frankly, any talent Jensen picks up, hence getting Drake signed to Gersh, and picking up indie producers by the handful right now.

Like this is actually moves beyond this fandom's ken. Not only has Jensen moved us up over the last 2 years where he basically has executive authority for at least a few more years with Supernatural Franchise, as long as its content retains success ongoing; but he's moved himself up in the world into being highly competed for globally, and is using his infrastructure to pull everyone up around him. Whether that be Berlanti and Misha's current co ops with him unspoken to the public, or talent and actor First Looks. Drake is about to be plastered all over Amazon, just you watch, and everyone else Jensen is adopting slowly.

Jensen hit The Top in WB almost 2 years ago now, or at least had all the deals signed that would land him there once mergers stopped shaking everything. People just didn't understand what the fuck he was genuinely building professionally. So now that he's at the top of WB and SPN there with him, he isn't settling, he's just moving further up the media tree than WBD alone can give him, hence Amazon, and that same engine he used to climb WB, he's now using to elevate everyone in it with him into brighter careers with greater reach and media leverage.

It's optimal positioning. Don't let the same idiot trolls whine you into even considering otherwise. They don't understand what's happening now any more than they've understood the last several years.

Lets say each characters suddenly got famous (‘what meme worry’ sunil style) . their reactions?

You know, this is actually something I have thought about before, surprisingly enough. We'll start with the easiest one because she's just kinda obvious:

Zoe - well, duuh! Of course she got famous, she should have a long time ago if you ask her but whatever, at least she's finally appreciated as she should be. She's very happy about it and rather boastful. She'd do all the stuff to keep the momentum going: posing for pictures, giving autographs, crank her online presence to 11, etc. But she'd be upset seeing that fame dying down and would desperately try to keep it or better yet, increase it.

Vinnie - he's easy too, I think he would ride out the wave, and happily so. He'll enjoy his 15 minutes of fame for sure, like if someone wants to admire him just because he appeared on some meme (if we're keeping with that sunil style, but it can be anything else) then he's all for it. Though he doesn't care nearly as much as Zoe to keep the momentum and once it dies down he lets it, he had his fun.

Russell - he's surprised. Like, really? Him out of everyone got famous? He has no idea what to do with that. It's not that he's totally opposed but at the same time it's not something he really wants either. He would just let it pass and act as casual about it as possible. If someone on the street wants a picture with him then he will probably agree, even if he doesn't get it, but that's it. He's not doing any interviews or anything, leave him be in peace.

Minka - oh she'd have so much fun with this. Suddenly others recognize her and for some reason offer her nice things. She'd do all the stuff Russell wouldn't, but not because she wants the popularity just more because it's once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I mean, never before people wanted her opinion on things so much or seemed to go crazy whenever she appears. She'd be kinda sad to see it go, but again, not because she cares much about being recognized, just because there was a lot of fun things going on for her while it lasted.

Pepper - she would be so excited. Others suddenly think she's so important and a lot of priviledges come with it. She's taking everything fame offers her, why would she not? In fact, she would remind others a lot that "guess what, I'm famous now." She actually doesn't thinks it's that important, but she knows some others do and if just telling them that she's famous gets people to be nicer to her and maybe even give her things and admire her just for existing etc then she'll absolutely take it. Also, she would especially tease Zoe about it because she knows Zoe craves being famous so much but nope, look, it's her best friend who's famous instead.

Penny Ling - she'd be very humble about it at first, like "On, I'm really not all that special, but thank you for the nice words :)". But if it went for long enough she'd start to really get used to it and enjoy it. It's still not something she super craves or feels like she can't live without it, definitely not, but it's nice being appreciated like that. She'd be humble about it until the very end, but with time she'd be more willing to accept the perks that come with being famous. Just don't impose on her life too much, or preferably at all, and everyone will be golden.

Caught up on today's episode.

It's much more bearable to watch without the stupid blue tone thoughts and repeated shots of that car rolling. Haha. And no terrible single dramatic music beats.

I do like Caleb and Nicky being included in the Faith stuff. I still don't really understand how he and Cain got on such good terms but I prefer it that way. I like Cain having a relationship with him.

It was nice to see Gabby actually get to acknowledge that she was friends with Liv. Too bad Jacob's stuck in next week's block sleeping with Victoria and couldn't acknowledge his friendship with her too. Haha. Sigh.

I really don't understand what they're trying to do with Amit long term. Like is he going to stick around and be a real presence in the village. Because he didn't actually kill Rishi so I don't feel like he's all of a sudden going to go down the serial killer route or something. I feel like the village could use a good longer term low key villain. Maybe someone who actually could give Kim a run for her money business wise. Maybe he can buy the HOP from Gabby and turn it into something better so that his son isn't working for a 21 year old anymore. And if his wife is dead, maybe Kim can cheat on Will with him. Haha. Sorry, I just really hate Will and Kim together.

The Lydia stuff was fine. I liked Rhona's scenes with her. I still just hate that they're doing yet another rape story. Just...nothing about this feels new or interesting. It feels like they're just going through the motions. It just feels like bits and pieces of all of the other stories stuck together. So even if the scenes are decent, it just feels stale, which this type of story shouldn't feel like. And yet...here we are. Because they've done too many of them over the years.

As for Aaron...well. Haha. Did they always have that couch in the portacabin? Because I don't remember seeing it before. Robert slept on the floor the last time he slept there. I was reading through twitter comments and ds board comments and there's just sooo much hatred for Aaron's attitude and his return in general and like...I didn't really want him to come back either but I haven't really minded his attitude that much. I do kind of enjoy him being terrible to Chas. And stealing money from the pub. I mean he was honest that he was taking it and they did take 30 grand from him so...you know. Kind of fair. As for the Paddy stuff, I mean you can see him calculating how to get rid of him and so he goes for the jugular. I was glad they at least mentioned Aaron's own suicide attempt and didn't ignore that. And I mean Paddy did lock him up too and threw the whole beating him up thing back in his face in front of Liv so...not that he deserved what Aaron said but I do still hold that grudge a bit.

Mostly, I just don't know where they go with him from here. Because it seemed like he was going to be like this for a while from the return interview stuff but you can already see him cracking and it only took a few words from Vinny to make him stay so like...how long is this realistically going to last? And once he does crack and properly grieve and do his inevitable apology tour, then what?

I just need them to give him a life again. So much of his character group has been stripped away, they need to replenish it. He needs a friend or friends. He needs some kind of relationship with his family. He needs a job, preferably one that we see. And he needs a purpose. I don't know, I just don't know that this rehash of everything that happened during the 50th anniversary is really going to cut it for long. So...

This is why Ryan needs to come back. Aaron needs his other half, he needs his story generator. Haha.

Aww! I love Vinnie’s voice too! It’s unique and different! I know a lot of people give him shit, especially now, but they can kindly fuck off 😘😂 I’m not just saying that because they’re my fave band. I truly love his voice! And Nikki has said in an interview that he specifically writes for Vince’s voice! ❤️ John Corabi was the other singer! I believe he joined the band in 1992! Girl, it totally makes sense! 🖤

I don't know enough about Vince to give him any crap- Crue really isn't my area of expertise, even if I am a fan of them and they are my third favorite band. But even if I did know him well enough to, why would I? And the fact that they give him crap now...oh my gosh. Why? Why do some people do that? They do it to Jon Bon Jovi and Axl Rose, too, for different reasons, and I just don't...why are some people like that? I could NEVER. 💀

OH MY GOSH, I literally typed, "It sounds like the others write just to fit Vince's voice" but then took it out! That makes SO much sense! I don't think I have ever heard instrumentals fit a voice so well in any other band but Crue. Of course, every good band has to have that necessary balance, but Crue takes it to a whole new level. That is one thing about them I can't say for every band I listen to. Man, I can't believe Nikki does that! I mean, I can, but I can't. It makes so much sense! 😂

Interview with Amanda Flower

Because I Could Not Stop for Death and I Heard a Fly Buzz When I Died by Amanda Flower has her venturing into historical mysteries. These books have a unique portrayal of the famous American writer Emily Dickinson. Emily along with her maid, Willa, become sleuths and help to solve murders. But a bonus is having readers getting glimpses of how Emily thinks and what the culture of mid-19th century was like.

Elise Cooper: How did you get the idea to use Emily Dickinson?

Amanda Flower: Each book’s title will be the first line from one of her famous poems. In the first book, the poem was about a carriage ride with a horse. In this novel, a horse is very central to the story. The second book has flies surrounding the found body, which is related to the poem I used. I pay tribute to the poems, but do not follow it verbatim. Her poems are imagery and vague with multiple meanings. She never wrote clearly.

EC: Why Emily Dickinson?

AF: Her poems are mysterious. I have been a huge Emily Dickinson fan since I was 15 years old. I wanted to write a historical novel with another version, so I decided to write a mystery with her. Last year it won the Agatha for best historical mystery and a final for one of the Edgar Awards. The real characters beside Emily were the maid Margaret O’ Brian. I added a maid assistant, Willa to tell the story in the same manner that Sherlock Holmes had Watson. I also chose that period of her life, in 1855, where Emily and her sister came to Washington because her father was a member of the House of Representatives. This time was about six years before she went into hiding for the rest of her life as a recluse. She did not get any acclaims for her writing when she was alive.

EC: Why the reference to slavery?

AF: In the 1850s America was in turmoil over slavery. I knew I had to include this issue, or it would be a disservice. It divided everyone. The Underground Railroad went through many small towns close to where I live in Ohio. One of my jobs was leading Underground Railroad tours through the town that I worked in. I spoke about the people who lived there and those who tried to escape.

EC: How would you describe Emily’s personality in your book?

AF: This is my best interpretation of the real Emily. She likes to investigate, a good judge of character, ignores societal class, and is loyal. She is also bold, caring, curious, confident, and blunt. She was probably her father’s favorite because he gave her special treatment. She enjoyed wandering around and instead of not telling her to stop bought her a dog for protection. The dog is real and so his name Carlo, a character in Jane Eyre. He lived for seventeen years, which is unusual for a pure bred, Newfoundland. One of the theories is that Emily became a recluse after he passed away. Her dad would buy contemporary fiction books and leave them around the house for her to just happen to find. The family gave her room to be different, a genius aspect.

EC: How would you describe the real maid, Margaret?

AF: Kind, protective, tough, and can be hard-nosed. I made her gruff with Willa.

EC: How would you describe Willa?

AF: Nervous for her brother’s safety, compassionate, strong, determined, loyal, and broken. In the first book she is more timid. She is determined to find out what happened to her brother, Henry. As the series goes on, she is very protective and loyal to Emily. She understands more social standing than Emily. Willa is very aware of the class distinction and sees the servants as being invisible. Emily tries to treat her as an equal.

EC: What is the difference between the sisters, Vinnie, and Emily?

AF: Vinnie acts like an older sister even though Emily is the older sister. At the end of their life, she took care of Emily. Vinnie is more into societal norms. She carries the weight on her shoulders. Vinnie is a cat person, while Emily is a dog person who hated cats. The cats probably annoyed her dog. Emily did write about disliking cats.

EC: What about Henry?

AF: Henry is an idealist. He wanted to take from the rich and give to the poor. He had a happy and carefree personality. He knew Willa’s upmost goal was to protect him. He is also kind, with a nose for trouble, and caring.

EC: The second book in the series, I Heard a Fly Buzz When I died, highlights Ralph Waldo Emerson-why?

AF: Through my research I found he stayed with Emily’s brother at their estate. Plus, I really like his works and wanted to include him in the series. He was the peak of American literature during that time. He encouraged young authors to write in an ‘American voice.’ After a lifetime of acclaim, he felt pretty good about himself. He is very aloof and is distant from others.

EC: Why the plagiarism angle? AF: It was harder back then to prove. Many authors self-published back then and it was hard to prove that someone else wrote it so it would have been easy to plagiarize. It is still a problem today. Writers would think about this problem. Although they do have a certain way of phrasing. Emerson had a very strong voice, very authoritative and confident. He wrote essays and non-fiction. The victim in the story was a social climber who tried to put his name on other’s works.

EC: Louisa May Alcott and Emily contrasted each other as writers?

AF: I put her in the story because she was about the same age as Emily and lived nearby. It was possible they could have met although no evidence. I also wanted to contrast her with Emily. Some authors like Emily did it for the sake of art and her own personal thoughts, while others like Alcott did it for the sake of supporting her family and was driven. Emily feared fame and did not try to get published more. Personally, I write for both reasons. I put in the author’s notes how ‘Emily wrote for the expression of art; Louisa wrote for the money.’

EC: Louisa May Alcott was also in the story-what was her voice?

AF: She is very confident, opinionated, with fun banter. Anyone who read Little Women would recognize these qualities in her main character, Jo. She is blunt, straight forward, and wrote for the money because she is super pragmatic. Growing up her family did not have money because her dad believed in living simply. She broke barriers by being a female who used her own name and became popular. When she started writing she used pen names. But with Little Women she wrote under her own name and this book changed the life of herself and her family.

EC: Next books?

AF: The third one in the series might be the last one. It is titled I Died for Beauty and will come out in early 2025. The plot setting has the 1857 blizzard with a deep freeze in New England. A young Irish couple die in a fire at their house. Emily and Willa try to figure out what really happened.

The next book coming out in February is titled Crime and Cherry Pits, a cozy. In March my first Katherine Wright mystery will be released titled To Slip the Bonds of Earth about a murder.

The Candy Shop mystery will be out in October next year. The Matchmaker mystery comes out the following year. Each main character will have a book coming out every other year.

Best album: its so hard to pick just one, they have so many good albums and my favorite does change depending on my mood. But if forced to pick one I'd have to go with Hot In The Shade.

Worst album: this is easier, Psycho Circus. Because although there are some great songs on there, Psycho Circus, Within and Dreaming (one of my top 5 KISS songs), a lot of it seems to be leaning too heavily on the this is the KISS Reunion album. It was a little disappointing after Revenge and Carnival.

What I dislike about each member:

Shandi don't do this to me!

OK then, I love these guys but I know they're human. So ....

Paul: Paul, my love please stop shit talking what you've done in the past. The Elder is a great album, just accept it. Thank you I love you.

Gene: I know he's the demon, but he doesn't have to act tough and mean all the time. I love seeing his soft side and I wish we could see it more.

Peter: he blames everyone else for stuff that happened and doesn't take responsibility himself.

Ace: I am so glad he's sober now, but it doesn't take away from the fact that when he wasn't sober he did things that hurt his band mates, and I think he needs to address this.

Eric C.: no I won't do this to our foxy! The only thing I would say is I think he and Paul were a lot more alike than either of them wanted to admit and with better communication they could have been an amazing source of strength to each other. Unfortunately it's too late 😭

Vinnie: watching some of the old interviews, Vinnie has a tendency to rush into answering questions that would be better left to Gene or Paul to answer, and having worked with people like that, I can see how it would be annoying. Just chill dude, ease your way in.

The one we don't talk about: everything gross he did

Bruce: sweet sweet Bruce. The only former member of KISS who has anything to complain about, and the only one who doesn't. It's okay to get mad, and it's okay to say fuck occasionally.

Eric S: I know Eric is very private and he has every right to be, but I would love to see his personality show a little more

Tommy: he's not Bruce. I know it's not his fault though and I still love him

Some of these were extremely hard. I know they aren't perfect but their imperfections are what makes them human and I love them all for it (except one, you know who) and I hope I haven't shit talked anyone's favorite too badly.

Y’know. I much prefer TTRPGs that never start to ones that start & then just die. Like this is some bitching under the cut.

So if a game never starts?

Never can get attached to my player character the way I do with all the others. Sure I liked the idea of Vinny and his pre-planned relationship with another player character- but his story never really started! There is no missing ending because the beginning never happened! I can speculate about what it would have been like to play him, but it’s a dead idea.

Once the game starts and we start having regular sessions though I can actually get attached to them which makes it so sad when they just end- especially if it’s been months of ‘yeah it’ll come back.’ I have character goals I was working towards, relationships with other PCs that I cared about- and that’s over. I don’t know how the story ends.

Sinclair is still just one space flight from finding the treasure with the rest of the crew. Eva is still stuck in NYC, terrified of going home to California and facing her family but also terrified of leaving the people she met behind. Garhardt is still in a police station being interviewed about an explosion he didn’t cause and the murderer of his wife and daughter will never suffer his idea of justice.

It’s sad. And I could write an ending (god help me I did for Eva after a year+ of the sad feelings about it), but it’s not the same as finishing a game with friends, and knowing that you all worked together and finished the story in a way that is yours.

Ghosts! Vampires! Skeletons! Things that go bump in the night! They were all here as Dancing With the Stars celebrated Halloween!

This week also marked the return of the team dances, even though there weren't an even amount of contestants remaining. Team Wicked faced off against Team Scream. We'll recap those a bit later.

We're getting closer to the end of the season now. And so we're facing painful eliminations. This one was certainly painful, especially as there is someone left who is not at the same level as the others and probably should be gone.

Who had got some treats and who got some tricks? Let's check it out!

Jordin and Brandon: I'm sad to see Jordin and Brandon go. She's been so fun to watch during this show. While she wasn't the strongest of the women technically, she was a great performer. And that can go a long way. Just not this time. I wish she had been given at least one more week but she gets to go out on her tango to the "Oogie Boogie" and should be proud of it.

Charli and Mark: Mark had some back problems during rehearsals so Pasha had to dance with Charli during them. She struggled adjusting to a new partner, no matter how good or kind Pasha is. But Mark was able to dance their spooky Argentine tango that paid homage to several horror films, including a moment where Charli did a crab walk like in The Exorcist. It was both spooky and sexy, a perfect Halloween dance.

Trevor and Emma: Trevor has finally had his breakthrough! His ghostly contemporary with Emma was both haunting and heartbreaking. It's clear he allowed himself to be open and vulnerable during it which allowed their routine to be elevated. And it was clear that he recently lost someone important to him as he was crying in the skybox. That was all he got out as Alfonso tried to interview him. Hopefully he can keep this up and possibly make it all the way.

Wayne and Witney: Wayne bounced back after last weed, delivering an interesting contemporary where he and Witney were cyborgs. The judges want to see more from Wayne and I think he can deliver. I hope to see another contemporary from him because I was hoping for something more like Trevor did than cyborgs running around before the system took over again. I think he could knock the emotional aspect out of the park.

Daniel and Britt: Daniel did pretty well with the paso doble. It was probably one of his best dances and he seems to be picking up his momentum again. But with Wayne still holding firm and Trevor surging, Daniel will need to pull out all the stops in order to make it to the finals.

Shangela and Gleb: Shangela really has hit her stride. Her creepy jazz with Gleb was worthy of Broadway and will likely be a routine that's emulated in future seasons. Hopefully with different music - the slowed down version of Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" was just awful.

Gabby and Alan: Gabby is only this far down because her team dance got a lower score than the other. Otherwise, she would've been at the top with her vampire-themed Argentine tango. She gets additional kudos from me for being able to adjust to a new dance partner - Val tested positive for COVID so Alan trained and danced with Gabby this week. And on top of that, it seems she also ended her engagement to fiancé Erich and still kept it together. I'm sure she'll be back on top next week.

Heidi and Artem: Heidi and Artem had a traditional tango, which Derek described as "dancing with your wife" (while Argentine tango is "dancing with your girlfriend"). But Heidi and Artem managed to add some heat and spice to their tango. She likely would've been higher as well if not for the score of their team dance. Like Trevor, she's now survived two trips to the bottom two but it's unknown if she'll survive a third trip. Upping scores will always help but it's going to come down to votes and her base may not be strong enough to get her across the finish line.

Vinny and Koko: Vinny tries. And he did his best with the paso doble. But as we get closer and closer to the semi-finals and the finals, does it justify him staying when it could come at the cost of someone who is doing far better than him? Someone who has shown growth as well? As I said, I get it - Vinny is very likeable and I even rooted for him in the beginning. But now I cringe whenever he is declared safe and I think it's time for him to go home.

Now let's go over the team dances! Each team was captained by the lowest scoring contestants, which meant that Vinny and Trevor were the team captains. How did they do? Let's check it out...

Team Wicked: Team Wicked danced to "The Witches Are Back" from Hocus Pocus II and consisted of Vinny and Koko, Gabby and Alan, Shangela and Gleb, Jordin and Brandon and Heidi and Artem. Vinny did regret filling his team with all male pros but he managed. They had a pretty good routine but I have to agree with the judges - it didn't really feel cohesive. Each couple got their solos while the others stood around clapping. They could've done so much more and really elevated this routine.

Team Scream: Team Scream danced to "Heads Will Roll" and was comprised of Trevor and Emma, Charli and Mark, Wayne and Witney and Daniel and Britt. Having one less couple than Team Wicked certainly didn't hurt Team Scream. They had a good storyline for their routine that Team Wicked really didn't have - there's been a murder and everyone is a suspect. Like the judges suggested for Team Wicked, Team Scream did have everyone keep dancing in the background as each couple took their turn in the spotlight and it really heightened the routine as well as conveyed the suspicious nature of the group. It really was an amazing routine that helped push all its members to the top of the leaderboard.
