Answer the questions and tag five fanfiction authors you know!
tagged by the wonderful wonderful @altschmerzes
1. How many fandoms have you written in?
Written in about 15 but I've only published in two. According to ao3 it's five but that's because of the umbrella fandom of DC comics.
2. How many years have you been writing fanfiction?
Since I was around 6 and I'm now 20 so about,,, 14 years
3. Do you read or write more fanfiction?
I read way more than I write, I read a bare minimum of 3 fics a day and I go through really long periods of not writing anything so I for sure read more than I write
4. What is one way you've improved as a writer?
since I started publishing my fics I've gotten a lot better at actually finishing them, but my grammar and tense has also improved A Lot just from practicing even if it's still not the best out there.
5. What's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?
I mean it's not that weird but I get very hyperfixated on small details so I did a lot of researching into the different degrees offered at Yale and Harvard in order to decide what degrees I think would be offered at a fictional Ivy League university when I was writing character bios a little while ago.
Also for To All The Better Places I spent a truly inane amount of time researching grassroots U12 girls football teams for a side character so I could name one in the right area that would suit her needs the best.
6. What's your favourite type of comment to receive on your work?
long ones for sure. I love getting long comments especially on my longer fics where people like,, point out things they liked or quote my work as me. Also love those like,, live slug reaction comments you get sometimes where people go paragraph by paragraph telling you their thoughts as they have them in one long comment,
7. What's the most fringe trope/topic you write about?
I have a lot of ambiguous gender feelings a lot of the time, and I also grew up watching a lot of "boy" oriented media that would only have like,, one or two girl characters at best so from a young age I was fascinated with reading like,, canon divergent "always-a-girl" trope fics and I have written a couple of them myself which I think is a bit of an unpopular trope in wider fandom.
8. What is the hardest type of story for you to write?
angst and whump because I really struggle describing physical sensation and angst usually just ends up with me making myself sad and/or sick in the process of writing it if I don't have a happy ending planned and ready to go
9. What is the easiest type?
found family stories are my bread and butter, slice of life, friends just being friends, those kinds of stories
10. Where do you do your writing? What platform? When?
I usually write at home at my desk, since I study online I've got a pretty perfect set up to spend long hours there. If I'm not at home I'm at the library. I use Notion, because it's free, I have personal beef with Word and google docs sucks. It's not technically a writing platform in the sense I use it in but it works fine as one, it also makes it super easy to organise my files and extra notes of fics, on top of my editing and the drafts.
11. What is something you've been too nervous/intimidated to write, but would love to write one day?
I actually recently overcame my big too nervous to write fic. I am,, an asexual virgin but I also really enjoy reading smut. I've wanted to write some for ages, but on account of not knowing how sex works because I've never had it and also my inability to describe physical sensations I've been weary to give it a go in case it's terrible but I finally wrote some not long ago and published it over on ao3
12. What made you choose your username?
Well Asteria is just my name, and then Argo is a combined DC/Greek Mythology references. Argo comes from the Argonauts of The Golden Fleece myth, but it's also the name of the original supergirls home.
I do not know whose already been tagged or whose already done it so I'm just going to go for it and hope for the best @jamtartandsunshine @kvetchinglyneurotic @jamiesfootball @antitheticaally @its-not-easy-being-green-things

Movies I watched this Week # 149 (Year 3/Week 45):
Between 'Mean Streets' and 'Alice doesn't live here anymore', Martin Scorsese made the documentary ItalianAmerican, which is basically a home movie. It features his parents bicker and talk at their apartment, remembering the old days of their families.
🍿
2 with teenager Scarlett Johansson:
🍿 Re-watch: Sofia Coppola's Lost in translation, while waiting for her latest 'Priscilla'. "Sleepless in Shinjuko". Sad and vulnerable 17-year-old Scarlett Johansson, a 'stranger in a strange land' is having a 'Brief Encounter' moment, with less-asshole-than-usual Bill Murray. (Photos Above).
Another melancholic exploration of a lonely young woman, who finds herself captured in a privileged gilded cage. An exceptional, subtle masterpiece. 10/10.
🍿 The horse whisperer starred 14-year-old Johansson as a horse-lover who becomes emotionally stunted after a riding accident that caused her to lose part of her leg (all in the first 10 minutes of the film). It's a sloooow, traditional 3-hour-long story about healing, told mostly in beautifully-cinematic Montana. But it worked for me, in spite of the well-shot sentimentality. 7/10.
🍿
My first 2 by German auteur Christian Petzold, both with Paula Beer:
🍿 Afire - a tremendous, complex drama about a vain, immature writer on a working vacation. The little summer cottage close to the Baltic sea, is soon encroached by a forest fire, as does his self-centered world view of himself and his art. It starts at one emotional point, and skillfully moves to a completely different, tense level. 9/10.
🍿 Petzold wanted to make a series of films about the 4 elements. Undine refers to the myth of 'water nymphs', so rivers, industrial diving, large aquariums, and drowning in a pool are all part of the story. It's a lovely, simple romance, which eventually turns into a dark fantasy. My 5th film with Franz Rogowski. 4/10.
🍿
3 More of Claude Chabrol’s Hitchcockian thrillers:
🍿 “… You like meat?…”
Le Boucher, a low-key, atmospheric thriller about a single woman who befriends a village butcher, who's also a serial killer. Fantastic snapshot of the people at 'the country' (Dordogne) at this time. 9/10.
🍿 The ceremony (La Cérémonie) is a similar dark story, set in a solid bourgeoisie family. Isabelle Huppert & Sandrine Bonnaire becomes friends and eventually decide kill them all. Like 'Stanley & Iris' from last week, the protagonist is illiterate. 6/10.
🍿 The Unfaithful Wife, another terrific, low-key, civilized study of a French bourgeois household. A loving husband discovers that his loving wife is having an affair, and ends up killing her lover. I liked it so much, and thought it would be a very good candidate for a modern remake. Then I remembered Adrian Lyne's 'Unfaithful' with the luminous Diane Lane in the Stéphane Audran role. Maybe I should watch it again! 8/10.
I discovered Chabrol late, and have only seen about 10% of his 74 movies. Now I have to see them all!
🍿
Milf, another film with Virginie Ledoyen, a soft-core sex comedy. Three older women looking to hook up with boys 20 years younger. A similar concept to the Naomi Watts film 'Adoration'. I only watched it because it is directed by a woman and had 13 on the Tomato score. Better than Zalman King.
🍿
Wow! After 4 months of anticipation, the venerable bio-pic Oppenheimer finally hit my free streamers. I watched all 3 hours of it but left completely underwhelmed. This is the seventh of Christopher Nolen's praised big-budget epic films that I saw, and so far none of them had floated my boat. Okay, so I'm not a big blockbusters fan.
It's not very hip to rail against McCarthyism in 2023. Twenty-twenty revisionist vision, mambo-jumbo pseudoscience, overwrought endless, loud soundtrack, and basically the usual biography of a "Great man", which is always a boring subject for a movie. 4/10.
🍿
3 by regular Fincher screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker:
🍿 On the other hand, David Fincher’s new thriller The killer was a thrill ride that was a joy to watch. A cold blooded professional assassin, laconic and super-human, flies around the world ruthlessly killing people. Mesmerizing (but predictable) suspense with an effective Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross score. I could do without the inner monologue that replaced conversations in the story. Also, a great comic book knock-out fight after an hour and a half of deliberate, slow go. 7/10.
🍿 In 2001, BMW produced 8 short films by famous directors as "Branded Content", i.e. advertisements. Called 'The hire' they all featured Clive Owen driving Beamers around the world. AKW wrote two of them:
The Follow was directed by Wong Kar-wai, and was about an aborted diamond heist.
Ambush was directed by John Frankenheimer, and was about a woman being followed by her husband.
The other shorts were by John Woo, Tony Scott, Ang Lee, etc.
🍿
5 more Danish films, 3 with Henning Moritzen (The patriarch from ‘Celebration’) and 2 with Mads Mikkelsen:
🍿 Tænk på et tal (Think of a number), a 1969 old-fashion, enjoyable Danish 'Krimi' with an enduring theme song. A meek bank teller finds a discarded note from a bank robber, and gets involved in a lethal game.
This story was later remade into the Elliott Gould caper 'The silent partner'. I love such slow and delightful dramas, and I love Bibi Andersson.
it’s funny how movies that used to be throwaway entertainment products 60 years ago, gain completely different meaning today. I should start exploring the many Danish Noir from the 40's and 50's. 7/10.
🍿 50 years later, In the Oscar-nominated short The pig, Moritzen is old and fat, and is being hospitalised for some tests. There he lays and finds comfort in a simple picture of a pig jumping over a fence. Delightful!
🍿 On the other hand, Now is another Danish short (from 2003) starring Mads Mikkelsen. But it's an artsy-fartsy, humor-less, word-less "Art film", shot in black & white, with a constant baby crying. Like 'An Andalusian Dog' but without the charm and the magic… 1/10.
🍿 I was surprised to realize just now that my favorite Danish screenwriter Anders Thomas Jensen directed only 5 features and 3 shorts. (but he wrote 59 scripts!). Wolfgang is an early short of his, and not his best. Now I've seen all the movies that he directed.
I can't wait for his upcoming 'Monster of Florence' with Antonio Banderas and 'Back to reality'. Yeah!
🍿 So I took in one more viewing of his sentimental After the wedding, maybe for the 10th time. So full of emotional twists, old-fashioned melodrama, Sigur Rós score and peak Sidse Babett Knudsen.
🍿
Budapest Noir, a Hungarian murder mystery, set up in anti-semitic 1936. A hard boiled crime reporter investigates a murder of a beautiful prostitute, like a Jake Gittes named Zsigmond. Very strong 'Chinatown' vibes, including a smokey jazz score that tries to recreate its haunting atmosphere, and even the final line of dialogue "This is Budapest". 5/10.
[This is the 115th woman-directed film I've seen so far this year!].
🍿
Dumb money, the first enjoyable Reddit movie, about the 2021 GameStop short squeeze. Compelling Class War rhetoric with Seth Rogen as the billionaire 'heavy'. Up-to-the-minute updated drama of the 1% Vs. the unwashed masses. I think it will endure as another worthy addition to the sub-genre of 'highly entertaining explanation to boring real-life financial story', just like 'The big short' and 'Margin call'.
However, it used an Artificial Intelligent editing model that color-corrected the whole movie into a weird, fake, washed up look. 8/10.
🍿
First watch: Kurosawa's bleak Drunken Angel, an early post-war Yakuza film, and the first of the 16 collaborations between him and Toshiro Mifume. An alcoholic doctor befriends a young hoodlum suffering from tuberculosis. Located around an open sewer in a seedy neighborhood, still suffering under the American occupation.
🍿
Ikarie XB 1 (Or 'Voyage to the End of the Universe' as it was called in American), an influential and ambitious 1963 Czechoslovakian science-fiction saga, based on a Stanisław Lem novel. "Futuristic" space decor and story, very much in the Star Trek style. Cultish 1960's popcorn philosophy, but nonsensical and not a serious world building. Not for me - 1/10.
🍿
Thank Dog that the third season of Tim Robinson’s 'I think you should leave' was so short. The first season was outrageously different. The second season was a 'repeat on a theme'. This one was just cringey irrelevant. Absurd, awkward, confusing situations, exploding rage at small mistakes. No!
🍿
My first (and last) stand-up by comedian Nate Bergatze, The greatest average American. Average stories of 'relatable' everyday nitty gritty were hardly worth a chuckle.
🍿

15 questions tag
last tag I'll catch up on for today because my sister is telling me to hop on gta asdfghj- big thanks to @socially-awkward-skeleton for tagging me! :DD Again, I'm low on spoons/not sure who to tag so if you see this, then you are now tagged, my friends! <;33

No idea who my first name comes from, but I have a considerable number of grandfather's names as middle names that I'm very proud of :)

5. What sports do you play/have you played?

Hi i wrote the post re: insight into who Meghan was really attacking, and i agree with the anon who finds the Catholic nun story as suspicious. I don’t know how you would be able to categorize your school as a private all girls Catholic high school when the founding Sisters renounced their vows. I was educated in the Catholic school separate system, from elementary to high school, albeit it was not private education, I had a nun as a French teacher in high school but we also had some students that were atheists attending (it made for very entertaining debates between the student and the teachers:). As usual with every story Meghan weaves you have to take it with a big grain of salt. I am afraid this story might end up like the Soap commercial story, twisted beyond all recognition. I double checked Lady c’s Sussex bio to see if she wrote about the Nun issue at Immaculate Heart but nothing. All she mentioned was that the School was founded in 1906 and remained a Catholic prep school for the Hollywood elite and “aspirational” would send their children.
Hi again! Welcome back!
I just chatted with my mom as well and she was raised strict Roman Catholic. I read her that paragraph and she said she needed a glass of wine to relax her mind after trying to figure that nonsense out.
She did say though that for it to be a Catholic School, it had to be "ordained?" by the church. She said if the nuns renounced their vows then the school would no longer be Catholic.
But I went online and did some research. As usual, Meghan left out a lot of details. So some nuns quit, but the ones remained are why Immaculate Heart continued.
Immaculate Heart Community[edit]
By the 1960s there were 600 professed Sisters in 68 elementary schools, 11 high schools, one college, and two hospitals. In the late 1960s a dispute arose between the institute and Archbishop James Francis McIntyre of Los Angeles. The IHM Sisters took part in a process of renewal led by the psychologist Dr. Carl Rogers, founder of the Center for the Study of the Person, an affiliate of the Western Behavioral Sciences Institute. Carl Rogers, and his associates Bruce Meador and Bill Coulson, conducted encounter groups according to the principles of the Human Potential Movement.[5] In such encounter groups, under the direction of a facilitator, participants were encouraged to share their real feelings as they interacted with the other group participants.
The first encounter group was held in the summer of 1966 at the Immaculate Heart Novitiate in Montecito, California. With its apparent success, the experiment was begun en masse in 1967, with all the sisters and the schools they ran in the Los Angeles Archdiocese participating. The encounter groups facilitated change in the IHM community. It was among the first groups of women religious to modernize their rule in accord with the directives of Vatican II. Changes included a more democratic form of governance and replacing their religious attire with civilian dress. Cardinal McIntyre refused to let the sisters teach in archdiocese schools unless they wore habits and adhered to a variety of traditional rules.[6] The sisters, in turn, objected to the Archbishop dictating their attire, bedtimes, and hours of prayer.[7]
Then-superior Anita Caspary remained firm in implementing the reforms and on February 1, 1970, about 300 of the IHM Sisters followed Caspary and were subsequently dispensed from their vows and fired from the schools in the archdiocese.[7][8][9] They went on to form a non-canonical group that admits both men and women known as the Immaculate Heart Community.[10] The 68 sisters who decided to remain were allowed to keep the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary as their name. As of 2015 there are five sisters.
An ensuing property settlement left remaining the IHM sisters with certain properties, while those dispensed obtained control of Immaculate Heart College and Immaculate Heart High School in Los Angeles.
The headquarters of the Immaculate Heart Community are at 5515 Franklin Avenue near Western Avenue, in the Los Feliz district of Los Angeles. Immaculate Heart Blythe Street serves the San Fernando Valley, located in Panorama City, Los Angeles. The Immaculate Heart Community has since 1943 run a Center for Spiritual Renewal and La Casa de Maria on 26 acres in Montecito, California.[11] This was also the novitiate for many years.[12] As of 2011 the Immaculate Heart Community numbered 160 members.[6]

Is it too late too ask for 10 Facts? I'd like some facts about Selena :3
Considering my adhd ass wandered away for a few years, no its not to late
10 facts about my Jedi Sage Consular Selena
Tumblr media
1.) She does not follow the cannon consular storyline, she is a Jedi archeologist, and frequently vists remote planets to study obscure artifacts.
2.) She was adopted into the Jedi Order officially at 3 hours old ( and unofficially adopted at that time by her foster parents Master Yuon and Qyzen Fess.)
3.) She is not much of a duelist, instead focusing on earth bending in a pinch, she's more likely to use her lightsaber as a flashlight or intimidation against a hostile for.
4.) She does have the gift of forsight and will occasionally have visions. She passed her gift onto her son Sass and he passed it down his line.
5.) She was raised on a remote outpost on Illum, and spent her childhood exploring the crystal caves.
6.) Unknown to her most of her life, she is the heiress to a massive sith estate. ( her biological father and sister had infighting and alot of murder happened) after her bio fathers death, Sass does press her claim and since Acina can't find any other blood heirs ( and wants to stay on the new Emperor's good side)
Empress Acina does hand over all the bank accounts and holdings to Selana.
7.) Selena promptly donated most of her inheritance to charity to settle refugees on Odessan or gave the more deadly stuff to the Alliance.
8.) She technically is a Queen. At first no one knew how to address the mother of an Emperor without an official title and no military background.
So Sass technically " gifted" his mother a planet whose royal lines had died out during the war. And thus she became thier queen.
Lana helped set up a concuil to run everything ( and be friendly towards the Alliance) so Selena will visit a few times a year instead of living there.
9.) She does have an eye for fashion, and opens the first fabric and dressing making shop on Odessan.
10.) She is responsible for setting up the first proper Jedi temple on Odessan in the growing village outside the base.
Her daughter is in law Lana quietly had the first Sith taining grounds built on Odessan afterwards.

Tag game
Thank you sweet @sflow-er for tagging me!
Nickname: as a kid my parents called me "little mouse" (well, the equivalent in my language). In recent years, an ex-partner called me "rainbow" bc they thought I'm a nuanced person and have all the colors in me. I loved it!
Zodiac: taurus sun, gemini moon, capricorn rising
Height: 168cm (5.5 feet, I think?)
Last Movie: "Do Revenge". I didn't like it.
Last Thing I Googled: Maya Hawke. I wanted to read her bio after watching the movie.
Favorite Musician: Oh god, impossible question. I love and listen to a very wide range of music so I don't have one single favourite musician, I have several. The same applies for question #19.
Song Stuck in My Head: right now, a song I've heard on the radio earlier this morning: Sharks by Imagine Dragons.
Other Blogs: no
Do I get asks: never
Blogs following: following me or that I follow? well, in both cases a ridiculously small number, I'm new here.
Amount of Sleep: 7 hours per night on average
Lucky Number: I don’t have one
What I’m Wearing: black trousers with a t-shirt and a red sweater
Dream Job: huh. I think I don't have one? To be honest, my real dream (unrealistic and unattainable) is not to have to work at all.
Dream Trip: I already did it! Some years ago I spent six months solo backpacking across South America!! That was THE experience of my life!! But I hope I'll be able to repeat it in another continent one day (I'd love Africa or Australia).
Favorite Food: Aaaaah!!! How can I choose?? I LOVE food. I LOVE cooking. I LOVE tasting new food from different countries (I always try local food when I travel). Anyways, in general, I prefer strong flavours (like spices) over mild ones, and salty over sweet.
Play any instruments: sadly not.
Languages: besides my native language, I speak English, French and Spanish (not perfectly, just conversational level). I've been self-studying Swedish for a year now.
Favorite Song: see question #6 - just too many!
Random Fact: I feel super confortable with big animals like cows, horses, elephants (yes I rode an elephant!) but I panic with the creepy little creatures (that is, insects). Make it make sense.
Describe your aesthetic as things: a cup of coffee always at hand; a window wide open while a storm is thundering and pouring outside on a summer night; a burning-red sunset.
I have very little follows and followers and it seems like they all have been tagged already, so I just leave an open invitation here: if you like the game and feel like answering the questions, please consider yourself tagged, I'll be thrilled to read you!!

Happy 2024!
Alright. So, quick updates. Comps are this semester. My thesis needs to be deposited this semester. I find out whether I got into either of the PhD programs I applied to this semester.
Basically, everything is happening this semester. It's fine.
But I'm back at home, I'm back at the job I had two years ago, and I'm taking trains to and from DC for class. It's great -- I like trains, and when I focus I actually get a lot done on the train. It's built-in study time.
Also, I'm thrilled to say that my last UT Austin rec letter was finally sent in on Monday night. That two weeks felt more like an eternity.
Anyway. I have a heck of a to-do list this week.
Musical Diplomacy/Book History Seminar
1. Read an article. (By my advisor.)
2. Read an essay. (Also by my advisor!)
3. Look at a score PDF. (Yeah, I'm not printing that.)
Theory
4. Look over slides before class. (They got posted today, so I went ahead and looked over them.)
Thesis
5. Finish my lit review. (Technically, I sent it yesterday, but there was one really important body of literature I looked at that I haven't addressed in the lit review yet.)
6. Finalize my case studies. (I definitely know what four of them are going to be.)
Comps
7. Fill out the form and send it to my advisor. (I really needed to do this last week.)
8. Make a plan for studying. (Any tips would be SUPER useful.)
9. Order the textbook for one of my past courses through the Consortium. (So I can pick it up on Monday.)
Research Assistantship
10. Program notes. (Well, at least I got them in by the end of the business day.)
Doctoral Programs
11. Research four faculty at Indiana. (Your girl got invited to a virtual interview day in a couple weeks and found out who she gets to meet!)
Latin American Music Center
12. Figure out an article topic. (Somehow I've gotten myself roped into writing articles for the Latin American Music Center this semester.)
13. Send a headshot and bio so they can post a blurb about me. (Forgot about this until literally two hours before I needed to send it in.)
Adulting
14. Laundry. (My sheets and clothes are all nice and clean!)
15. Clean my bathroom. (All clean!)
16. Clean the kitchen stainless steel. (My family recognizes me as the queen of cleaning the stainless steel.)
17. Gym trip #1. (I have a Y membership now, which is cool! My first trip of the week is happening tonight.)
18. Gym trip #2. (I ended up doing a step class.)
19. Gym trip #3. (Ended up with a buddy!)
Now if I can just refrain from going down rabbit holes @q-berts-mind tells me about (*hint hint*) ... I should be fine.

January Weight Tracking
I'll add the rest of the days later. I'm gonna go week by week. And I think I'll add how many cals I consumed and steps/exercises I did on that day. And even how long I fasted for. So if I eat a burger or something deep fried I can be ashamed of myself and everyone knows how 'fat' I am. (Crazy, but it's working)
Day 1: 53.5 kg. I had 1 piece of brown toast, a ginormous banana, and a cup of tiramisu. Estimate around 455-500 cals. Which is perfect a budget for now. The tiramisu is obvi high in cals, but it's alright since I managed to fit it in somehow. I was going to eat these fried prawns, but I know they'd make me feel immensely guilty. Most sweet stuff don't make me feel guilty unless I ate a lot that day so I chose tiramisu over it. I hit a new record of 25 hours for a fast! I think my next aim is 30 hours. But maybe after finals week. I need a latte and a banana a day to function.
Day 2: 53.2 kg! I have school today, but no PE. It's fine though since I'll get like at least 5k steps just walking on campus. If I fast for 30 hours I'll have to end it at 9 pm. And my rule was no eating past 6 pm. So I guess I'll only eat if I feel like fainting. But honestly though I can just sleep through it and my fast will last longer. Update, I broke my fast. Estimate of cals around 517 cals. I ate another sugary thing so that's bad. But it's alright. I didn't eat much anyway.
Day 3: 53.7 this morning, 53.3 kg at night! I'm 28 hours into my fast I'm so proud of myself. I don't even have to convince myself I don't like the food at the moment. When I see a huge bowl of noodles per se, I think of how it feels like this disgusting blood clot in my stomach. I might break my fast before school since I have an exam. But I hope not. Also proud that today I didn't eat that cookie. In humanities my teacher allows people to bring donuts/cookies on their birthday for everyone and I gave mine to my old friend. I don't like her. But we're mutuals. I gave her my cookie secretly. Then she got her one when the teacher called. She always steals my food anyway. Last year I never ate in school and when I did, she'd ask me for my food and get so upset when I refused.
Day 4: 53.0 kg! I just broke my longest fast which was 47 hours. I ate around 600 cals. We did running/walking in PE today so I burnt a bit from that. And I walked/ran around 7k steps. I think I failed my bio test. I don't give a shit anymore. I think I'll starve myself more now. I wasn't that hungry but I chose to eat so I'm not to demotivated. Tomorrow I'll eat a protein bar, a large cappuccino, and a large banana. Should be around 450 cals just and estimate. I was gonna eat noodles and sushi but I ate quite a bit today. I ate oats with cottage cheese (around 1/2 cup of oats and 2 tbsp of cheese) , paratha, a small banana, and a protein ball. I'm just scared I might've gained it back on the scale so hopefully not.
Day 5: 52.6 kg! I ate a lot today. Friday's are meta day. I ate a huge beef sandwich which was like 500 cals. I felt like fainting even though I broke my fast yesterday so I don’t feel extremely guilty. But hopefully I don’t gain it on the scale. I might go out with my friends tomorrow, but I think I won’t. I’m gonna try and fast for the rest of the weekend. I’ll try to fast until Tuesday but that might be unrealistic so considering my last fast maybe until sunday/monday. Update: my friend has to leave earlier and she's the one who wanted to get food together. So I'll be left with my other friend for quite some time. She doesn't really eat and she's extremely thin. I envy her. But I feel comfortable not eating in front of her. She won't judge because she understands.
Day 6: 52.6 kg. Glad I didn't gain a thing. I didn't even go up to .7. Anyways, today I'll not eat a thing. I'll tell my mom I'm going out with friends and I'll eat then. And when I'm with my friends I can just say I'm not hungry. Other than that I plan to attempt studying for some of my finals. I'm so tempted to eat the butter croissant in the kitchen. I've realized any form of bread is my main weakness.
Day 7: 52.5 kg. I didn't use the bathroom yet, but I didn't eat much so I'm assuming I'm actually around 52.4 or .3 kg tbh.

Fave goth songs this year: 1. Crescent and the star - Sunshine Blind Gothic Rock
Honestly my favourite Sunshine Blind song objectively is probably burned at the stake now, but I'm a bit emotionally attached to this one. I spent a lot of time this year driving around alone and camping etc. to see cool landscapes and stuff + moving around between states so yeah. I really like the buzzing instrumentals and the way the singers vocals kind of match that in a way that's a bit hard to describe.
2. Telekinesis - Altar de fey Deathrock
I really like all the space imagery and stuff in this song, I read a lot of science fiction and this song just feels like a scifi short story thing. Also I really like the way the fast, discrete drumming contrasts with the guitar where all the notes blend into each other.
3. A fever dream - Mors Syphilitica Ethereal wave
This was my ethereal wave year tbh, I used to not listen to it much but it was probably my top genre this year. I love the really dramatic soaring instrumentals and vocals but the drums make it a lot more like, heavier and driving in contrast to a lot of ethereal wave I find a bit boring. Also the singer's vocals are so cool.
4. Silent Thunder - Mephisto Walz Deathrock
So according to spotify Mephisto Walz was my top artist, and though I also listened to a ton of stuff on youtube, bandcamp and mp3s that's probably right overall. I absolutely love Mephisto Walz's instrumentals and the kind of monotone sinister vocals go so well with them... they're probably my favourite of any bands I can think of.
5. Strange Weather - Dead Spells Deathrock? Their bandcamp and stuff says post punk and darkwave but the drumming and guitar sounds make me think deathrock tbh
Ok usually I like really dramatic instrumentals and stuff but I also really like the spooky more hollow sounding usually deathrock stuff but I think it's reallyyyy hard to do well without sounding boring but all this band's stuff is great. The lead singer's voice is great and I like the kind of tense tone of the lyrics. I could listen to this song on repeat for hours tbh.
6. The Future - Second Still Post Punk
Second Still is a really great band I'm so sad they broke up :(. They're also influenced by no wave so they've got some really interesting rhythms and stuff, it's more obvious in some of they're other songs on the album. The lyrics and stuff are also interesting it's very detached yet kind of upbeat which like so true...
7.Valentine - Sisters of Mercy Gothic Rock
The instrumentals and stuff make such a spooky ambience I love it. Also I think the anti war and militarism message is really relevant (Like yeah Andy's pretty obnoxious in a lot of ways but the anti militarism messages and critique of cold war unhinged nationalist mutually assured destruction stuff are so true. I keep seeing people going 'gothic rock has always been apolitical' and it's like mate. sisters of mercy is NOT subtle lmao what do you think the rain in first and last and always represents...) + the juxtaposition of really mundane imagery of everyday stuff and descriptions of like conflict really feel like this year tbh like I wake up in the morning and read the news and it's like wow. there's a lot of horrible stuff happening, a terrifying rise of far right groups and climate change and stuff. ok time to make breakfast and go running and study for my bio test I guess.
8. Dusk of Hallows Gothic rock? Post punk?
Corpus delicti has the best synth of goth bands imo. ok 100 years by the cure is extremely good too but the echoey soaring synth in corpus delicti is really good in way more songs it's so dramatic and the switching between the quieter synthy bits and the loud drumming and guitar works really well.
9. Remedios the Beauty - Strange Boutique Ethereal wave
I love the instrumentals in this, like I love screechy soary synth and guitars and stuff but this song kind of did the opposite with more clear instrumentals sounding a bit more like plucked strings I guess and it sounds really cool! Another of the songs that got me really into ethereal wave this year.
10. You bleed me - Suspiria Darkwave/Gothic rock
Over the last year Suspiria has become my go to 'it's 4 hours past time to go to sleep but I really need to finish this essay'. Very upbeat and also kind of fun in a silly vampire way. In a slightly different world where I was a more social person this would be the drag king music I would pick tbh.

BIO:
Gwen Morgan-Daniels was born into a charmed life, and she knew it. From a young age, she was granted nearly everything she wanted (her requests for a unicorn went unanswered, unfortunately.) The beautiful second daughter of Bart Morgan and Harriet Daniels, there was no doubt that Gwen would make a name for herself in the world. As a child, she tended more towards the arts, finding a love of drawing where her older sister was in every sport imaginable for a young woman. Bart and Harriet weren't exactly pleased with her hobbies, but since Lauren was a star athlete and cheerleader, they weren't terribly concerned with Gwen and her less than desirable hobbies. Which, Gwen was perfectly content with. Her sister loved her artwork, and so did her friends. What else would she need?
Things changed for Gwen when she went into high school. A freshman while her sister was a senior, she felt a lot of pressure to change. She was undeniably beautiful and naturally in shape (if a bit on the thicker side), but her lack of interest in athletics and dating wasn't something the people in her school could comprehend. Lauren defended her sister, but the pressure remained on the younger Morgan-Daniels to conform.
Spring of her freshman year, Gwen became close to a senior girl in her art club. The two of them spent time together most afternoons in the art studio on campus, Gwen charmed by the attention from the older, more experienced girl. One afternoon, her new friend turned their usual hug goodbye into a kiss, gentle and sweet and nothing Gwen had ever thought about before. The experience was fleeting though, as Lauren interrupted them, dragging Gwen away from the older girl.
It was then that Lauren gave her a glimpse into how she needed to behave. Their family wasn't necessarily homophobic, but they had a very set idea of what life would look like for their girls. Lauren was headed to Duke in the fall, pre-med. Gwen was expected to go into law like their mother. Both of them would be Dommes like generations before on their mother's side, and they would claim beautiful men to dote on them before finding rich husbands to marry. There was no room for negotiation in this plan, not if Gwen expected to keep the life she was used to - and to still have contact with her family.
Terrified, Gwen heeded her sister's advice. Over the summer, she started training, determined to become the girl everyone expected her to be. Three months of hard work led to her not only making the cheer squad, but becoming captain of the JV team. She focused on her studies, leaving behind her art classes. She gained a whole new set of friends through cheer, becoming the popular queen bee her family expected her to be. All the while trying not to think about how she dreamed almost nightly of that one and only kiss she'd ever had with another girl.
Gwen chose to go to Columbia for her pre-law degree before attending an institute. It was there that she began to discover what being a Domme actually meant. She experimented with boys on campus, learning how to manipulate to get what she wanted, learning how to give pain and love the cries and whimpers she got in return. Nothing got her off more than a begging, sobbing boy covered in marks and blood, just aching for even a taste of her skin - and denying them even that.
But with as hard as she played, the boys she was with only seemed to want the minute amount of aftercare, which left her feeling lost. It took a bit for her to recover from intense scenes, her mind feeling adrift and almost - depressed. The more she played and ignored it, the worse it got - which only served to add to the anger she felt towards herself for hiding her sexuality. Gwen didn't learn about Dom drop until she went to her first institute, and despite her teachers assuring students it was just as common as sub drop, she refused to admit that was what was happening to her.
Though she had never been a particularly warm person, these secrets she hid made her even icier. The less people close, the less people had the opportunity to find out what she was hiding. Unfortunately her attitude coupled with her penchant for sadism made it hard to find a claim. She played around with plenty of submissive boys, but they either wanted a softer Domme, or a male Dominant in the end.
After her 25th birthday, her father revealed he had a plan for her. A business partner of his had offered one of his sons for her to claim in exchange for a major deal. Initially, Gwen was embarrassed and angry about it, thinking her father didn't trust her to find a claim of her own. But in the end, she found herself accepting the arrangement. Though there was a grace period, after a while, Gwen didn't see a point in staying at her current institute. No one there wanted her anyway, and she might as well at least know what her intended claim looked like. She didn't have any interest in romance or feelings - she'd never managed to have something like that towards a man anyway. It was merely a business transaction, an arrangement to keep them both out of slavery and to keep up appearances.
And who knew, maybe there was a pretty submissive at this Stonewall place who would be able to handle her - even if she wouldn't be able to play with the ones she truly wanted.
BIO QUESTIONS:
What are your feelings about the mark you have received? - Pleased. I expected nothing less considering my family and their background. Anything less would have been shameful.
How do your feelings on the system compare to your parents’ feelings on it? - They are very similar. My parents both have their own claims outside of their marriage, to manage the house and fulfill what needs they cannot get from each other, as well as several slaves. I intend to lead the same kind of life once I establish myself in a law practice.
Where do you see yourself after you graduate?  - Ideally Harvard to pursue law school, with my claim by my side. Whoever it is will have to deal with the New England weather.
How do you feel about authority? - It is necessary to keep things running the way that's best for everyone involved. Of course, leeway can be given in some circumstances but in the end, governing bodies and figures are put in place to make sure the needs of their constituents are met in a way that is most beneficial for the maximum number possible.

Crafting a Professional Auto Repair Web Design: A Road map to Online Success
In the digital age, a strong online presence is imperative for businesses of all types, and auto repair shops are no exception. A well-designed auto repair website can be a game-changer, helping you connect with your target audience, showcase your services, and ultimately drive more business. In this article, we will delve into the world of auto repair web design, exploring why it's essential and what elements make for an effective auto repair website.
The Significance of an Auto Repair Website
Why Your Auto Repair Shop Needs a Website
First Impressions: Your website often serves as the first point of contact between potential customers and your auto repair shop. A well-designed site creates a positive first impression and conveys professionalism.
Information Hub: Your website acts as a central hub of information. It provides details about your services, operating hours, location, and contact information. It can also offer valuable resources like maintenance tips and FAQs, positioning you as an authority in the field.
Showcasing Expertise: A well-crafted website allows you to showcase your team's expertise, certifications, and the quality of your work through customer testimonials, before-and-after photos, and case studies.
Competitive Edge: In a highly competitive industry, having a professionally designed website sets you apart from competitors with outdated or inadequate online presences.
Key Elements of Effective Auto Repair Web Design
1. Mobile-Friendly Design
With the majority of internet users browsing on mobile devices, it's crucial to ensure that your website is mobile-responsive. A mobile-friendly design guarantees that your site looks and functions seamlessly on smartphones and tablets.
2. Service Catalog
Dedicate a section of your website to provide a comprehensive overview of the services your auto repair shop offers. Include detailed descriptions of each service, pricing information, and any special offers.
3. Customer Reviews and Testimonials
Feature genuine customer reviews and testimonials on your website. Positive feedback from satisfied clients builds trust and credibility with potential customers.
4. Online Appointment Booking
Incorporate an online appointment booking system that allows customers to schedule services conveniently. This feature can significantly increase conversion rates by turning website visitors into paying customers.
5. Pricing Transparency
Be transparent about your pricing structure. Provide detailed information about service costs, any promotions or discounts, and financing options you may offer.
6. Contact Information
Ensure that your contact information, including your phone number, email address, and physical address, is prominently displayed on your website. Consider including a contact form for visitors to submit inquiries.
7. Team Bios
Introduce your team to website visitors. Highlight the qualifications, certifications, and experience of your technicians and staff to build credibility.
8. Blog or Resource Section
Consider adding a blog or resource section to your website. Here, you can share informative articles about car maintenance, repair tips, industry updates, and more. This positions your auto repair shop as a trusted source of information and expertise.
Designing Your Auto Repair Website
1. Professional Design
Invest in a professional web design that aligns with your brand identity. A clean, modern design with a professional color scheme can make a significant impact and leave a lasting impression on visitors.
2. Clear Calls to Action (CTAs)
Throughout your website, include clear and compelling calls to action. Encourage visitors to schedule appointments, request quotes, or get in touch for inquiries. Effective CTAs guide visitors toward taking the desired action.
Conclusion
Your auto repair shop's website is a vital tool for attracting and retaining customers in today's digital landscape. A well-designed website creates a positive impression, offers essential information, and streamlines the customer acquisition process. By focusing on mobile responsiveness, a comprehensive service catalog, customer testimonials, online appointment booking, transparent pricing, team bios, and valuable resources, you can create an auto repair website that not only looks great but also drives business growth. Invest in the design and functionality of your website, and it will prove to be a valuable asset, enhancing your shop's online visibility and reputation.
