Don’t worry guys just crying over how unequivocally tragic Kai’s character is
#txt#kai#kai ninjago#LISTEN i KNOW it is not intentional on the writer's part because at its core Ninjago is a kid's show#And I know I write some dark stuff pertaining to his character when the show is NEVER that deep but just#look at the kid's life and how are you not like... Dude#I know Kai is NOT the fandom's typical favorite believe me I know#but holy hell#Have any of yall looked deeper at this kid#So drummed into his head that he needs to protect and the only way to do that is through respect which you get with power#and once the concept of the green ninja is introduced Kai wants it more than anything#less so because it would make him feel good but because Kai has just always been s so so afraid that he cannot be enough to save everyone#but as the green ninja he could#and then he realizes that it is not his burden to bare but this little child#and though disappointed Kai still takes up the responsibility of taking care of Lloyd without a second thought#because that is what he knows and he doesnt know who he is besides that#Everyone always focuses on how arrogant he can seem -- hes not btw. he is a normal teenage boy#but sometimes it feels like it is just a sounding board for just how alone and terrified Kai is of messing up#failure in any sense makes him seize up and close in on himself because his life has ben PROVIDING and WORKING and PROTECTING#and if he is put in a sitution where he can't do that#it breaks him#Zane's death is a prime example of thatt#Kai literally CANNOT handle the fact that he failed to protect someone he loves and it kills him enough to wish he had taken Zane's place#and it never gets resolved. ever#Kai never gets that security -- and I dont expect him to#kids show. I know. But... Shit. it hurts#ninjago#ninjago kai

I think a story where Jack brings back att the angels and most demons, and Empty let's them go cause they want to sleep, but takes Castiel's memories because they are still angry at Jack and Cas would be amazing.
Like Cas has memories somewhere before pulling Dean out of hell but everyone else around him remembers all that happened.
I wrote a really long ost about this fic idea byt tumblr ate it, so I am going to try again, I am sorry if I miss any details this time around.
There is an old post, about Naomi and Cas, I don't I will be able to find, but one person in the tags said, (paraphrasing) 'It would be intresting and kind of hillarious if only Castiel was mindwiped after his rebellions or disobidience and others rememberd.'
Cas loosing his memories after his lastest visit of the Empty would be as you said very messy.
Imagin, Jack goes to empty, after getting Chuck's powers, and Cas is not happy with the situtation but he also know they don't have much time, the Shadow is angry about everything. So Castiel helps Jack make a deal with the Shadow, to get most of the angels and hamdfull of Demons, who would actually help rather than messing them up evern more (Like Crowely, Rowena, Meg, etc), they deal with the rest and seasl the void so that the shadow is never disturbed again.
But before the leave, The Shadow takes Castiel's memories, or something happens, but Castiel does forget everything that happened.
So, as he comes back the last thing he remembers is planning a seige to hell, to pull out Dean.
And everything is a mess, right?
Hell is cahos, Deamons don't know who to obey, Rowena and Crowely are at eachothers throats.
Heaven is worse, Angels are hostile towards Jack, he is Lucifer's nephilim, raised by the Winchesters, he took Godhood from their father. They don't know if they want should trust him. Even Cas himself.
It doesn't long for everyone to realise something is very wrong with Cas, either. Like Cas then thought Balthzar is dead, and now when Cas doesn't remember, Batlh who is still angry doesn't know how to tell his brother, who is so happy to see him, he was the one to kill Balth. Similar interactions goes for Anna, for Samandrieal, for Racheal, and others.
Like all the angels are angry at Cas, but blowing up gets only confussion from him. And like he doesn't want to belive what they are telling him, because its too much and its disarterous for him.
Jack comes to realise, he doesnt know shit about Castiel or the angels or heaven and hell. He has no idea what to do and how to help
Like Cas is the one being who could have conneted all the frayed edges of Heaven and Hell, but he can't do that.
Its immposible to write this concept in way that would do justice to everyone, but it has a lot that can be explored
Wow, that really is a spectacular mess, isn't it? (in a good way) It is super interesting, but I can't even get started on how one would try to resolve it to satisfaction.
So then I started to blow it up even more:
In Hell, not only Rowena and Crowley would have unresolved issues, but Meg and Crowley too. And Crowley surely had issues with all the remaining demons, who first of all chose Lucifer over him, then also became loyal to his abusive mother while they were never truly loyal to him. I have no choice but to conclude that he would become an outcast of Hell in this situation (unlike almost everybody except one, I don't buy "redemption" of Rowena for suddenly become a loving mother after Crowley died).
Now onto Cas. I really hope that when Cas was in the Empty making the deal with Shadow he didn't let Naomi out, or the archangels. Because that would make Heaven as fucked up as before.
But do the angels who get out remember all of that past oppression? Do they, now free of Chuck's (the show's) narrative and Naomi's mind control, begin to think for themselves? Do they put the blame in the right places, and not just make Castiel the scapegoat of their enormous misfortune like the show made them do?
Assuming (probably too optimistically, but I can't bear the alternative) that this is the case, Castiel would still be under so much distress, as you described, hearing all the horrors, not wanting to believe, not remembering any of it, yet couldn't not believe.
Then I really don't want him to recover his memory; because it would just be so devastating, especially, also, if he remembered Jack, and realized that his son had learned about all of his "crimes", and understandably became disturbed, if not traumatized by that knowledge.
Whew, knives in the heart at every turn in this story, isn't it?
So then I can only come to one conclusion. Castiel, heartbroken, not knowing who he was anymore, banishes himself from heaven, meeting Crowley who was on the run as an outcast from Hell. Castiel may initially distrust a demon, but he thought himself in no position to judge anyone anymore; while Crowley remembered his fondness for his old friend, and welcomed the clean-slate they were given. Castiel and Crowley found the only source of solace in each other in this new world that was no longer theirs.
What happened to Jack through all this? I have no idea LOL.
Thanks for elaborating on this idea! You blew something up and I followed the ejecta in one direction, but there are a lot more ways to go.

yet another multimuse questionnaire / Accepting!
@kitxkatrp sent a letter: Are there certain muses you like using for certain types of prompts (fluff, serious, angst, ect).
I decided to focus on just three for this one which is Mika, Marja, and Igna. All related to some degree, but I like putting all these long lost relatives in very different situtations. This is not me saying I will never flip the script or want to show them in a new light, just that these are default prompt moods for me.
Tumblr media
Mika is a fluff magnet, being only a toddler it's hard to try being complex with his character. In addition, I don't really want to place him in a prompt I feel uncomfortable placing a three year old in. Not saying child characters cannot, hell some kid muses I have some dark origins and complicated feelings. Mika just doesn't, he was never meant to be a muse placed in dangerous situations with killers or dark angsty stories. Though his backstory is depressing, he's not. Again he's three, when I think about him I just want have a good time with him being the cute fluffball he is. Not me saying I can't put him in sadder situations or prompts just that it's not a default for me.
Tumblr media
On the other hand, his mother Marja who though I hate always putting her in "Where's my baby?" starters it makes the most sense. Honestly, I love the idea of showcasing her sadness and sense of dread in her threads, so I like playing her threads with more of a serious nature. However, I do equally enjoy seeing her joy as well like I enjoy the idea of her going on journeys and found families and friendships work just as good for her as they do Mika since her motivation is based around family and wanting bonds.
Tumblr media
Lastly, I like Igna to have something more active going on with her threads. This is why I hated placing her in one setting, her character is always on the go because she's a girl on a mission. Styled after a typical fantasy hero in my opinion so I enjoy the idea of her being on adventures and making traveling companions, but she tends to feel stuck while I write her and I like for her to be more explored by well...exploring haha

Quotes I like part two
“Some people called it the Tree of Heaven. No matter where its seed fell, it made a tree which struggled to reach the sky. It grew in boarded-up lots and out of neglected rubbish heaps and it was the only tree that grew out of cement. It grew lushly, but only in tenement districts. You took a walk on a Sunday afternoon and came to a nice neighborhood, very refined. You saw a small one of these trees through the iron gate leading to someone’s yard and you knew that soon that section of Brooklyn would get to be a tenement district. The tree knew. It came there first. Afterwards, poor foreigners seeped in and the quiet old brownstone houses were hacked up into flats, feather beds were pushed out the window sills to air and the Tree of Heaven flourished. That was the kind of tree it was. It liked poor people.” - Betty Smith, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.
"Maybe you can tell me how to ask out a cotton candy haired goddess?" - Luz Noceda, the Owl House
"I went to cooking school in the 90s. It's tuscan bean", Krow
" She was the sea and he was the sand for he would stay while she pulled away, but would always come back again." , Esther Brown
" 'Shevrati,' Inej said distinctively. Know-nothing. She'd called Kaz that on more than one occasion. She thought of Jesper toying with his guns, Nina squeezing the life from a man with the flick of a wrist. Kaz picking a lock in his gloves. Thugs. Thieves. Murders. And all worth than a thousand Jan Van Ecks." Leigh Bardugo, Crooked Kingdom
"Why should I be a minority in your state, when you can be a minority in mine." - Gligor, former president of the Republic of Masadonia.
"Kaz had tapped his crow's head cane on the flagstones of the tomb floor.
'Do you know what Van Eck's problem is?'
' No honor?' said Mathias.
'Rotten parenting skills?' said Nina.
'Receeding hairline?' offered Jesper.
'No', said Kaz. 'Too much to lose. And he gave us a map to what to steal first." - Leigh Bardugo, Crooked Kingdom.
“Joost had two problems, the moon and his mustache”- Leigh Bardugo, Six of Crows.(made cooler by the fact that Krow has it memorized)
"Shuffle the cards. Mausculine? Feminine? It depends on the sitution." (...) "neuter is the only gender that suits me."- Claude Cahun
"He didn't mean to say it. He meant to let her go. 'I can help you.'" - Leigh Bardugo, Crooked Kingdom
" ' When this is all over , Van Eck has been put in his place, when Rollins goes running, and the money is paid, these will still be my streets. I can't live in a city where I can't hold up my head.'
'If you have a head to hold up,' said Jesper.
'I've taken knives, bullets, and too many punches to count, all for a little piece of this town.' said Kaz. 'this is the city i bled for. And if Ketterdam has taught me anything, it's that you can always bleed a little more.'" - Leigh Bardugo, Crooked Kingdom.
"He pulled out thread after thread out the fine fabric that Fenoglio had spun and wove patterns of his own, adding them to the old man's tapestry like brightly colored patches and growing rich on what his voice could entice out of another man's words.
Curses, on him. A thousand and one curse." - Cornelia Funke, Inkdeath.

So I have been trying to play Azusa's route for like, idk, 4 months now? Im still on stuck day three and can't get myself to play it, even though I want to actually know the story. I know how he is gonna be in the route and thats putting me off so this is very, "immovable force vs unstoppable object" situtation and idk, have a good new years
I think that’s a very valid feeling for it. Although I love Azusa and I think his route is one of the best in-game, it’s honestly incredibly difficult to read, especially the first time around. Like you, I knew going in he was going to be terrible but playing through it and experiencing it for the first time was just. Awful.
I still vividly remember getting done with a scene where he throws the MC against a tree and I just felt so nauseous. I just remember standing next to my bed in my old shitty apartment and feeling like I was going to throw up.
Honestly, my advice would’ve been read the route on Youtube first and ease yourself into it, and then play it for reals. I’ve found that reading it after the initial first time is a lot easier and there’s a lot of cool foreshadowing and lore bits you notice on subsequent playthroughs bc honestly, Azusa’s route has some of the coolest lore information out of the older routes. However, given Solmare’s recent crackdown, that’s kind of harder to do since the only full route videos for Azusa on Youtube are now unlisted and hard to find, and there are no finished transcripts of his route. But if you can find someone who has the whole route on unlisted and you have access to it, that would be my advice.
You have a good New Year’s too, hon!!! Let’s hope 2019 is better than this shit year!!

[🌙 ] - How does being neurodivergent affect your muse in their career or schooling? (For all applicable muses!)
Tumblr media
This is all across the board, really. Since this is hella long, I'm putting it under a cut.
With Eri, his special interest is decorative plants, and he made an entire career out of it. Thankfully, he hasn't had any negative problems due to his ND.
Solbee is extremely awkward and socially inept, and while he's extremely booksmart, he's horrible working with people. He can come off as mean, brash, snappy, naïve, or any other number of things because he just doesn't grasp where a social interaction is going or how to properly talk to someone.
Get him going about a special interest though, and he'll monologue you to death.
Kirill's ND isn't the usual, he has a lot of sociopathic tendencies and disconnects. Currently, he's getting therapy and medication for it, but before, he ruined his life with choices he made in a hairtrigger moment out of anger. He was meant to be a king, and instead became a villain. It was beat into him at a very young age that he had to be everything that people wanted him to be, and unfortunately, he became exactly what they wanted from him. He was a monster.
He's getting better now, but he can't scrub away the things he's done.
Red is another case where his special interest became his livelihood. While he's not particularly active due to me playing an AU version of him on toyhouse, the two muses are very similar and can be interchanged as far as interests and goals go. Being a mechanic and an inventor, as well as his own boss, exemplifies everything he loves and since he's so good at what he does, it was easy to be successful at it.
Seiun... well by default everything about her revolves around sex. This is normal for all nephelym and she doesn't behave particularly unique among the ones you meet in the game, so she's probably the closest thing to neurotypical I have. Her hang ups would coincide with my own hangups, particularly socially. Schooling isn't something she ever had, everything she knows is self-taught. and we don't talk about how she managed to get a job like that. Her job is very nuanced and unique though, selling live nephelym as sex toys and lifelong companions, she definitely could NOT do an office job in a cubicle, she'd break down.
If I had to name one thing about her, she's thirsty for knowledge, particularly on people. How genetics work, how personalities work, how unique individuals of the same species are from one-another. She loves that stuff. She researches it, has tons of handwritten books spanning hundreds of years that she tirelessly works to type up so they're eternal. Anthropologists and geneticists would have a field day with her research books. That's definitely downright a hyperfixation.
Moving on next to Xander, he's similar to Solbee, but with a high degree of learned helplessness and additionally he's had social training to recognize common cues and how to respond to them. When he's not in "work mode" he's a lot more edgy when socializing. He handles touch MUCH better than Solbee does to the point of seeking it, but that's down to his genetics rather than feelings. However, his social cues are still extremely lacking if he's in a situtation that falls outside of things he was trained for. Given that he was trained to be a service troll (think like a medical service dog), the cues he knows to look for are on the medical and psychological side. Put him in a group of friends hanging out? He'll be awkward as hell.
If he were to attend normal school, he'd have trouble focusing and definitely show signs of ADHD, but thankfully the life he lives now is much more active than book work and he's able to manage it without treatment most days. He does have treatment for bipolar disorder though, trolls in his timeline still exhibit similar mental illnesses that humans get, and therefore medications exist, especially if they're as important as he is (psionics are rare, even rarer when they're in the medical field like he is.) He does stim a lot, mostly tactile and sound stims, like dragging his claws through carpet for the tugging and the noise, and that can get him in trouble, as well as a general inability to keep still. If he's forcing himself, he can manage, but his tail will still flop about to release some of that energy.
Finean can't really be graded in terms of school or work as he's never attended either. He definitely stims and has special interests, but a lot of his apparent neurological dissimilarities are less to do with how his brain is wired and more to do with how he was treated his entire life. He was treated like an animal, and it shows in the way he carries himself, refers to himself, and the expectations he has in the people around him. In a normal world, what he went through would be considered severe psychological abuse and he's suffering the consequences of it, although in context he was treated as well as a troll could be given the circumstances. A lot of things are likely going to come to light as he's worked with, and his character develops more, but I can say for certain that he's hella autistic and I can't wait for more character development to show on how it manifests in him.
Aristl has a special interest in rocks and that's been a part of his character ever since he was a little kid. Rocks are basically the only thing he cares about, nothing much else interests him, and his life goal is to become a geology professor so he can teach other people about his rocks. He functions pretty well but can be rather awkward in social situations, but he tries. The autism in this one is real.
As for Ri'ahni... I would call her neurotypical as fuck if it weren't for the fact I can't write allistic characters. Nothing has come out in her character that reads to me as neurodivergent, but I'm sure as she gets more character development in roleplay (despite the fact her banner says she was made in 2015, she never got a lot of roleplay in text and i didn't really invent much when i was playing skyrim as her) that she'll start showing Signs and Symptoms. No doubt, she'll have trouble with social interactions. She's already rather standoffish when it comes to speaking in person and she doesn't like to divulge information about herself when it isn't necessary, i imagine she'll have a lot of social cue problems when things progress.

I was rewatching Princess Tutu recently and Mytho’s sitution seems really similiar to the Nobodies-
(Continuation of princess tutu- I accidentally sent early) Mytho shows up as a somewhat teen with no heart and no memories. there is some change in the time between there and the beginning of the show, due mostly to how other characters tell him to act, but he doesn’t age, physically or emotionally, to the point where nobody sees it as an age gap relationship when they ship him with characters who were children when they met him and are now the same apparent age.
***
Interesting. I haven’t seen seen Princess Tutu and don’t know anything about it so I can’t really speak to the comparison.
For me, the whether nobodies age thing is less about shipping and more about hating the idea of Terra growing older when none of his friends do (since it’s established Aqua is in a timeless place).
As for age-gaps, I’ve shipped pairings with age-gaps. Buffy and Angel was my first ship (hence Buffy comparisons in some of my posts). In season one Buffy is 16 and Angel is a vampire who was turned at 26. (the actors were 18 and 26 respectively). The show commented on the age gap.
Season 1 Episode 7
Angel:  When I am all I can ever think about is how badly I want to kiss you.Buffy:  ...over the dam... (looks up at him) Kiss me?Angel:  I'm older than you, and this can't ever... I better go.Buffy:  H-how much older?Angel:  I should...Buffy:  (approaches him) ...go... You said...They kiss. They kiss again. They kiss passionately. She puts her arm around him. The kiss goes on for several moments. Angel suddenly pulls back and looks away.
Season 2 Episode 9
Buffy:  (looks up at Angel) The Cliff Notes version? I want a normal life. Like I had before.Angel:  Before me.Buffy:  No, Angel, (touches his hand) it's not you. (touches his cheek) You're the one freaky thing in my freaky world that still makes sense to me. (lowers her hand) I just get messed sometimes. (Angel looks down) I wish we could be regular kids.Angel:  (looks back up) Yeah. I'll never be a kid. (gets up)Buffy:  Okay, then a regular kid and her cradle robbing, creature-of-the-night boyfriend.
He’s older than her, but since he’s a vampire with a soul and she’s the chosen one with the strength to fight evil, they have the power to fight vampires together. They’re also soul mates and in love with each other. He doesn’t manipulate her into the relationship, he has no power over her, there’s no abuse.
In real life age gaps in relationship aren’t a good idea. They’re likely to be abusive because predators like to target people with less social power and less experience. If the relationship isn’t one you can be open about there’s more chance for abuse because there’s no one you can talk to about it. Furthermore, even aside from abuse if two people are in different life stages it’s unlikely to work out.
For Buffy and Angel, the life-stage thing isn’t as much of an issue because they share the same job, fight vampires and evil. Angel is part of her peer group because he wants to help her fight.
There are other examples. Pretty sure all of the canon Disney Princess Relationships have an age gap, how much varies. Mulan and Shang is the biggest with a 16 year old and her 28 year old commanding officer - that’s problematic).
Han and Leia have a ten year age gap and Leia is only 19.
The thing with fiction is the story can be whatever the writer wants it to be, if a relationship is a good relationship depends on if the writer writes it as a good relationship. And we should certainly criticize when abusive or predatory behavior is written as romantic. That doesn’t mean we still enjoy problematic tropes or films that have problematic tropes (I love Star Wars) but we should be aware when fiction reenforces harmful norms and stereotypes so we don’t internalize the message. So that we know that someone acting that way in real life is a red flag.
But fiction doesn’t have to be a guide book for what to do (non fiction guide books do that, that’s why they’re called guide book. 50 Shades is not a guide to dating or BDSM, 101 Dalmatians is not a guide to buying a dog, both pieces of media caused harm when people took fiction as a guide rather than educating themselves. Education is really the key to preventing harm).
I like some fictional relationships that are messed up. I watched Queer as Folk reruns in High School and that show has a 17 year old hook up with a 29 year old and all the characters are deeply flawed and not meant to be gay role models. But the show was good for me to watch because it depicted sexuality as a good thing and not something shameful. And it’s problematic in a lot of other ways. But you can like something without it being perfect and like characters who are terrible people (I was also a big Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles fan in high school).
So for me, an age gap isn’t a deal breaker. Especially since most of what I like reading  and writing are AUs. Even canon verse, you can headcannon characters different ages. I’m sure some people think of Terra and Aqua as in their 20s and others in their teens.
For me though, the Nobodies not aging thing is less about shipping and more about not wanting the characters to lose ten years from their life.To me that’s really tragic (I could go into that in more detail if you want, but that will have to be another ask, as this got really long).
