A little scene I wanted to paint for myself.

-After the events of Act 6

I honestly am thinking about the events of the night just after the group finally rests after the whole defeating the king and stopping Siffrin from looping once more.

And I imagine Siffrin just absolutely crashes. Like they finally can rest after not being able to properly for so long. I like to they all are just causlly chilling at the clock tower, discussing their next plan of actions and going to see Bonnie's sister. And Sif just can't stay awake anymore, his eyes get heavy. (And obviously his sitting right next to Isa) and just passes out against him. Isa's heart absolutely shatters, cause "oh my god he's so cute!!!" But also the group decides let's get to bed shortly after. So Isa carries Sif to bed. And tucks him in, and they all get settled for the night. And everything seems to be going peacefully.

Until Sif wakes up from a nightmare pertaining to the loops. :)

And I just imagine he wakes up, tears streaming down his face, he can't breath. And Isa just immediately hugs him close, talks softly to him. Whispering something like "It's okay Sif... I'm here... you're here... I got you." And probably reminding them about their breathing technique. And slowly breathe in a out with him.

And then of course the others hear this too. And immediately rush to Siffrin's side to comfort him. Odile would probably lean close to him, like get down on her knees next to the bed. Maybe like gently rub his shoulder or something similar.

Mira would probably be a gentle hand hold, or maybe joins in on the hug, just wanting to help her feelings buddy out!

Bonnie, would probably quickly rush over to Siffrin and hold his hand once more. (And of course, it's still sticky)

Slowly Siffrin would stop crying, their shaking would stop, and their heart rate returns to normal. They'd remind themself: "it's okay... my family is here." And they'd look all of their faces, and a heavy, but greatful smile would plaster his face. It's finally over...

I feel like there's something to be said about the way fandom will treat characters who's trauma they can personally relate to Vs characters who they cant

#like obviously fandom has a thing against unpalatable victims regardless of where their trauma is from #but like #people tend to be way more understanding and compassionate to trauma that they can personally relate to or comprehend #in narutos case: #naruto struggled academically and was bullied as a child. he was alone and neglected on an emotional/domestic level #people can relate to aspects of his character despite the fantasy stuff of being a human sacrifice and part of the military and tend to car #alot more about his struggles #on the other hand the uchiha are discriminated against. sasuke is the sole survivor of ethnic cleansing/genocide. that is not something mos #people could even fathom the pain and trauma of. i mean its fucking /genocide/. and ontop of that he was essentially mind raped by his #brother. the person who he loved the most who betrayed him #and is still expected to function in a society that provides no support and continues to objectify him for his clans desirable traits #i feel like atla is also a good example #people can relate to and sympathize with the parental abuse and inadequacy/anger issues zuko deals with. and are forgiving when it comes to #his redeption arc #but when you take a character like jet. who has trauma in loosing his entire village/community and taking on a caretaker role to other #war orphans. thats not exactly a regual occurrence the average person can personally understand. his trauma is directly related to the war #and so despite him doing WAYY less shitty things than zuko. his is still demonized by the narrative. killed off and then mocked #and the fandom largely saw nothing wrong with this outcome #hama is in a similar bag but she also has the whole 'exploding apartments of pregnant women' distraction tactics added onto her #cause just showing colonialism and forced assimilation and fucking SLAVERY is bad on its own isnt enough ig #psii.txt #slavery mention #genocide mention #rape mention

it's about Matoba Seiji ...

don't remember what actually triggered this idea but I wonder ..

was the Matoba leader before Seiji his father ? it's mostly yes but I don't remember this actually said outright anywhere before, was it mentioned it was his father ?

anyway, do you remember that one phrase that Seiji love to keep saying alot either to Natsume or Natori ??

I know Seiji hated mostly because of this line of thought and how he can be messed up when it comes to that ...

this whole scene got me thinking alot that I felt him saying this here followed by this ..

don't know about you but this whole scene and dialogues felt to me it holds more weight than it looks like .. it felt it has some deep personal meaning to him than it seems which is why that led Natori to ask that question, if he ever wanted to stop being an exorcist ...

now, what does that mean exactly ?? I thought alot and tried to understand the hidden meaning and unsaid words, but it never clicked, nothing did which led me losing my mind for a long time ><

not until we learned more about him and Shinobu in the current storyline and something clicked

Seiji is the younger while Shinobu the older right ? she should've been the future leader of the Matoba ... do you remember why she wasn't picked or favored as the next leader ??

it was because Seiji was more powerful than her, he has such a talent that she can never have that even though some believed she's better overall because Seiji is hard to control but for the future of the clan Seiji is the best choice in the end.

also, it might've been clear who's the leader fav child is if we hadn't heard about Shinobu till now and that little Seiji was talking about the leader taught him this and that sometimes.

"use the tools available. the capable get things done and those who can't should stay out of the way"

this line might actually be about him and his sister, something the Matoba leader before him taught him (his father mostly) which he followed through himself with his children.

he used them as mere tools for the future of the clan, at that time the clan was pretty weak and about to lose their position in the exorcist world. between the two only Seiji hold the key to give them the glory they sought again so no matter how good Shinobu was, no matter how hard she might've worked, all of that will never amount to anything. just because Seiji was far more powerful than her. Seiji having bad manner and attitude than her ? hard to control ? simple just fix it by teaching him. right ~

back then I couldn't fully grasp the meaning of his expression here, but now I feel I get it better. I mean if all his father taught him is using people as tool or how to be cruel and never care what other think (he used his own children as tools and Seiji experience it firsthand yaay) .. having a teacher who teach the true valuable things ?? such an option was never there for Seiji and never will at the time.

"How long is he going to continue to pretend to be normal ?"

Seiji was never normal because of his power and natural talent, he was bound by duty and have invisible chains on his life and true desire just because he was this powerful that he got used as a tool and by none other than his father and on top of all his sister hated him for it too.

on the other hand Natsume has the same power as him or far greater than him yet he's free and not shackles be this power of his unlike him.

this is a "what if" kind of random thought and ideas and we don't even have any kind of direct/indirect info so all of this is pure assumptions on my part. it refused to leave me ever since it clicked so why suffer alone, just thinking about Seiji and Shinobu is just yeaah -heavy sigh-

I feel like Addispam angst is heavily looked over compared to current or big shot spam angst.

We don’t know much but what we do know is heartbreaking. Imagine being that friend. The friend that is always struggling. That can never find their foot or get a grasp on things. The one that has to constantly congratulate others and only get half hearted or feigned reassurances that your time will come. That keeps trying and trying and gets no where. Who can’t seem to figure out why everything works for everyone else but him. In a lot of aspects he is relatable as he can be considered even less than the underdog.
