Something I love about antiquing is how much love you can tell went into something. Like, today I went and found a letter jacket. From the 1950s. Sitting there, for 25 dollars.

One could only hope when they hit their near 70s they look this good. So I bought it cause I figure I could do a little fixing and cleaning and it’d be all good but I’m in the pockets and I find!!!

I had to look up "causes for carbon monoxide inside home" online because I kept being reminded that CO detectors are common in america for personal home use but I could genuinely not think of a single reason why carbon monoxide could form inside someone's living space unless they had a fireplace on at all times and terrible ventilation, but then I remember how non-electric stoves are so common in america and everyone has cars in a garage that is directly connected to the house or whatever and it made sense

#i think i've seen exactly one (1) gas stove in my entire life btw and it was in an old camp site and the stove was ancient #they're just not a thing here #isn't that fucking terrifying?? just. gas leaking out and you're setting it on fire #and they are still being produced! what is the benefit of a gas stove versus an electric stove??? does it consume less energy?? #i guess it's less expensive and heats up faster #but. do you really need it to heat up that fast. i think even induction stoves are just a bit too much even if they're convenient as hell #and... you need to buy like. fuel for it. separately. what if you run out of fuel in your stove. doesn't it cost more long-term #are power shortages so common that it's a genuine benefit?? i have a simple electric stove and cheap camping cooking gear if the power goes #and the power has never gone out. granted i do live in an apartment. but still #someone please explain #and don't even get me started on the carpeted floors that require sooo much maintenance to keep clean and a bunch of expensive products

#so years ago my parents bought our current house #but there were some sligh foundational issues - nothing too big at the time #since then our house has been taken over by cracks in our walls and doors and windows #and I had to MOVE out of my room (my SANCTUARY) into the spare bedroom #and now I cannot sleep #the carpet is too fluffy (I paced and danced in my old [OLD] room so the carpet is rough now) #the room it Too Clean (I had to discard my jeans on the floor just to give it a little messiness) #it's much warmer in here #the window is different #this room has so much space - TOO MUCH SPACE for just little old me #a vaulted ceiling?? nope. nope nope nope I need my flat one #I need my room smaller it is meant for one person only -> moi #even sherlock is freaking the fuck out because he cannot go into the old room #SPEAKING OF WHICH #my beautiful precious room now looks like a tornado hit it!!! #cardboard boxes trash and clothes are all across my floor and I now have two different mattresses just hanging out #in my poor old room #and I HAVE. NO. I am a bitch (just accused my apartment complex of being predatory and unethical for denying me several kinds of renter's rights and charging me hundreds of dollars unfairly while I'm still living there)

So, my building people are doing a fall inspection next week and I need to clean a bunch to look presentable for them. I then proceeded to HAVE A SEIZURE while VACUUMING MY CARPET where I KNOCKED OVER A PLANT AND STORAGE CONTAINER spilling dirt and art supplies (luckily not paint or anything) all over the corner of the main room. Every time I look over and see the mess I’ve only half cleaned up I feel rage. My own shitty brain fucking up cleaning in such an annoying way
