we haven't talked enough about how the Bathroom Scene ends with Kaz dramatically saying "if you ever cared about me, you won't follow. you'll stay here" as he walks off to his potential death and then the literal next page opens with Inej internally monologuing "well that was offensive. What would I even do...go home and marry a normal man? Yeah right. You're it for me, buddy" as she stalks him over the rooftops

I just started reading the svsss volumes (and re-read them again because A LOT IS GOING ON) but like. This shit is so hysterically funny I don't even know where to begin.
Was no one????? Going to tell me that one of the cornerstone jokes in the damn series is that lbh's adoration for his one and only 'tism person who literally cannot express his emotions to save his life is basically genetic?????????
Was no one???? No one AT ALL going to tell me that Mobei-Jun straight up yeets Airplane at the problem in one of the scenes?????? And that in the most hilarious twist of fate Airplane then unyeets Mobei-Jun not twenty minutes later?????
It's one thing to see people joke about sqq and lbh being unable to communicate but it's on a league of its own when you have to read HUNDREDS OF PAGES of sqq's inner monologue be like 'that's my darling boy. my baby. my sugar plum pumpy umpkin you're my sweetie pie' but on the outside he says "get lost binghe" and somehow deems that an effective expression of his affection that lbh will surely understand. 'Why is lbh whining and crying and tugging at my sleeve like a plaintive wife, why is he so angry?' Sqq asks, the entire circus, as lbh is about to fling himself off a cliff for attention--
In short, MXTX is the queer comedian of our generation and nobody appreciates her enough

the James Somerton thing really shows how hard people are willing to go to bat for a white cis guy who seems to say all the right things and makes content they like no matter how much everyone else has proof of them being a bad person. That is, until a more popular white cis guy who says all the right things calls them out.
This isn't a criticism of Hbomberguy at all, but of everyone else for refusing to listen to the voices of the people James hurt until Hbomb made it cool. This happens all the time and is still happening and it drives me insane. Y'all need to do better.

Slade decides he's gonna do Dick a favor. He's gonna end this stupid war for Gotham or whatever deranged nonsense the Bat is up to now, and add it to the list of 'favors' Dick owes him.
And he knows how to do it.
He's gonna act like the Bat himself put a hit out on the smartest bird, the first Robin's first acknowledged brother; he's going to pretend to gun for the bo-wielding Robin at the Batman's request.
He knows the man's slipping mentally, it's fairly obvious.
So he gets his resources together, lays a false trail, and starts "hunting" the third Robin. He leaves hints, clues, things like that. Brags to Nightwing that if Robin III is expendable to the Batman, then how long until he tries to take Nightwing out as well. He gets very, very close to taking out the little Robin once or twice; one time the newest, youngest Robin stopping him with a positively feral look.
It is, in a word...fun. High stakes tag, so to speak.
It doesn't take long before Batman is convinced he put a hit out on one of his own birds.

I've been thinking for years about how this fandom doesn't adequately talk about how manipulative Apple was toward Raven at, like, multiple points.
For starters, let's talk about the way her desire for Raven to be 'evil' was actually just a desire for Raven to shut up and be obedient. She says she wants Raven to be evil, but any time Raven so much as raises her voice at Apple or says no to her, Apple starts pearl clutching and calling her selfish. Because Apple didn't want Raven to be evil, Apple just wants Raven to stifle her personality and desires and do what she's told.
And the way Apple literally CONSTANTLY demonizes Raven's emotions while weaponizing her own? When Raven raises her voice or falters or is emotional at all, she's being dramatic and not thinking clearly, but when Apple cries her eyes out publicly or yells at Raven, it's emotionally compelling and she's so sympathetic of her because she's clearly so hurt and afraid.
Let's be clear as well, the "Raven is just as bad" crowd are literally just plain wrong. Raven absolutely bends over backwards to be calm and civil and keep her tone steady and be so very understanding at every single turn only to be constantly met with accusations that she's selfish and evil (but not in the way she should be) and trying to ruin everyone's lives.
Apple gets to scream at and demean her even when Raven is the most calm and civil possible, cry her eyes out when Raven puts her foot down even the tiniest bit, give the tiniest little concessions when necessary, only to crumble again the second she's under any pressure and go right back to that same cycle.
And before anyone says Apple's a manipulated child. I'm not denying that. I don't think she's an irredeemable monster, I know she's been manipulated and yanked around by the adults in her life. But her being a victim too doesn't magically erase everything she does and I don't know why so much fanon analysis declaws her and waters down her behavior so much. You can feel bad for the manipulation she's gone through while still acknowledging the pattern of manipulative and selfish behavior, especially since that's one of the things that makes her character so interesting.

I hate that in fandom it's always Jason being the most critical of Bruce maybe like Dick occasionally
because like Babs does it so often in comics and it is so deserved
and it's such a shame that it is always Jason or Dick in fan stuff because the comics where Babs gets to be mad at Bruce are so good
(Batman Chronicles #5: Oracle Year One)
she is one of the few people regularly calling Bruce out on his shit like all the time and she fully has the right
