Thoughts on Purgatory Day 4:

God what a fun day, and yet funnily enough a much more relaxed one.

It's gonna be interesting to see what the ramifications of blue's logout strat are gonna be because it's definitely going to be banned, but, from my understanding, blue used this strat to prove a point: that red's strategy was unfair.

Which is true, or at least I think it was true.

Personally, I feel like it was mostly unfair due to how difficult it used to be to get to global, but I feel like the admins have pretty fairly counteracted that and balanced things with today's introduction of the spawn portals.

Because with red's strat players HAD to physically travel to global and turn in the contracts within at least the last 30 minutes of gameplay. The portals now easily allow other teams to show up and at least put up a good fight, and we actually got to see how effective they are today with cellbit and charlie's assist they pulled for roier. If they had been just slightly quicker, green might've been able to steal back the win.

Which I think brings me to the other potentially unfair part of red's strat that I've seen be brought up which is that it isn't fair for streamers in European timezones/streamers who play earlier. Which is a fair criticism, but honestly I haven't personally been able to think of a way for the admins to balance the contracts around that without either: A) completely changing how contracts work, or B) unfairly punishing later streamers.

I think it's complicated, and I feel like the main thing that's gonna result from today isn't going to be them banning turning in tasks late but instead banning logging out right in front of the global NPCs. Knowing the admins, they'll probably figure out something I hadn't thought of and make the whole thing more fair for everyone.

Competition and lore wise, tomorrow is gonna be really interesting as well. A small alliance might be blooming between red and green and that might have massive ramifications going forward. That and I think (???????) that players might be getting their eggs tomorrow (?????). I know they described a period in which they had to keep them alive and the actual event ends on the 10th so I'm guessing they're arriving tomorrow. If they are, that shit is going to be crazy.

(Side note: It was also a delight to see teams casually hanging out more together today. As much as I enjoy the competition, I missed them all just chilling)

Overall, congrats blue on the win! Cheesy as fuck and they knew it but it was absolutely deserved! They worked their asses off! And green put up a hell of a fight! I hope they get their chance to win as well tomorrow!

So much came out of that final sequence

-All the parents and loved ones of the eggs screaming for their kids as the earth shakes and the ceiling caves in

-"I won't leave without her"

-Philza breaking his body and straining his wings to get him and Tubbo back to that damn boat, all strife and rivalry forgotten

-All the members who couldn't wake up for the end, who slept through it exhausted and believing they'd take a quick nap only to never wake up

-Etoiles having Richarlyson in his arms, only for the kid to be ripped away

-Bad getting Dapper back. Bad feeling the most miserable he's ever felt.

-Tallulah once again not having Wilbur there for her when she needs him most. Philza yelling I'm here Tallulah, I'm here. Her apologizing to the father that was there, so so sorry for all she said during their last talk, wanting nothing more than to be back in that basement with him arguing over things that seem so meaningless now

-Cellbit putting Roier through what he went through when Green was eliminated. He didn't want to hurt him, but he's tired. He's done.

-El Quackity the monster. El Quackity the traitor. El Quackity the cursed and the hated. The monster being used as a pawn once more by forces he can't comprehend. The monster having a soft spot for the child that isn't his

-Bagi desperately trying to squeeze in as much time as she can to talk to Richarslyson, the son she never met. To let him know she's family, that she loves him. She had even less time now than she did during Muertos

-Tina getting to see her niñina Leo again. Tina losing her once more. Foolish not even getting to give Leo his totems. Foolish having to shove it all down once more to get what family he has left out of there

-Maximus' final swan song. One final talk with Pierre. A push of a button. Peace.

-Fit risking it all fighting against the clock to save anyone he can, just barely making it with Bagi. Saving one life like that life is his own.

-All the people that escaped having to deal with the loss of everyone that was left behind. The survivors.

Quackity has the nicest attempt to cheer his team up, since yesterday has not been a good days for the Green Ninjas:

I can’t stop thinking about yesterday actually like roier with no smile, foolish going as fast as he can to get the bacon green team needed and riding his horse as fast as he could to get to global but not being fast enough, tubbo frantically trying to kill rabbits to give the hide to roier, Baghera practically begging quackity and roier over messages to tell her what they needed for the quests to try and tie it again, Charlie’s devastation when mouse came and asked in chat if she was going to die, Cellbit’s smile when roier was fighting BBH and Pierre because for a moment he had hope only for it to be ripped away seconds later, bad being willing to do whatever he needed to ensure his sons safety, Pierre feeling betrayed by green team in the egg competition because despite the fact they reached an agreement on not wanting to harm the eggs green team went and slaughtered blue team and hit their egg until it was down to 1hp the minute they could so he did what he felt was necessary to ensure his and his teams safety despite the backlash he knows he will now face from his own team and red, the betrayal the tubbo felt when he watched as the percentages changed from 50/50, Tina having to wake up and find out her last day with bagi was spent reassuring each other they’d keep each other safe and have each others backs and now she’s gone, Pac having to be told that fit is gone and knowing his last moments with him were filled with fit thinking Pac was betraying him, Etoiles who’s been such a big motivation and positive presence for his team being resigned to the loss before it had even ended telling his friends he loved them in his last moments, foolish not being there for Leo’s last day and being unable to save her so desperately trying to be able to get the resources he needed to save his son roier only to be too late again, Cellbit talking about how he’s lost everyone his son, his husband and his sister all gone, jaiden having to find out that not only has she lost Bobby but now she’s lost the only other person who loved and grieves Bobby the way she did, her platonic partner and one of her most loved and trusted friends is gone too. I actually might never recover from yesterday T_T

I made the Fooligetta family tree. There is no way to make it linear… why does it include almost everyone? Read it like it’s a family event and this is everyone who could come

Here’s the key:

Red - Romantic

Light Blue - Platonic (significant platonic relationship mainly(as in they would probably die for eachother))

Orange/Yellow - Parent

Purple - Siblings

Pink - Crush (arrows point to who)

Brown - Unknown/not enough evidence to make confirmed relationship status

Green - Exs (majority are exs due to death)

Dark Blue - Godparent

Pink Red Pink - Romantic Crush that is reciprocated (only on Pac and Fit & Bagi and Tina)

Important notes:

Q!Bad is on the ace-spec so the crushes on him are difficult to determine the status of with reciproction

A lot of people could have a platonic line but the ones here are just really influential relationships (ie Rivers and Roier could have one but there relationship hasn’t been life or death yet or morning crew could have one too but they haven’t suffered enough together lol)

If a orange line comes out of red/green line that just means they were/are parents together

Adoption lines aren’t on here because basically everyone is adopted…

Works for the Feds undercover but part of the rebels. Forever: Played day 1; hasn't been on since. President of the Island. Will likely be on sometime this week. Roier: Played day 1; hasn't been on since. Will probably be on sometime this week. EDIT: Roier is ill! Hopefully he feels better soon! Ironmouse: Played day 1; hasn't been on since but has a lot of things going on/is a variety streamer, so isn't on QSMP all the time Antoine: Played day 1; stated he is a casual MC player, and this event isn't really his scene, he doesn't know what he would offer to the team. Has some secret relationship with Cucurucho Maxo: Played day 1; hasn't been on since. Plays QSMP lately whenever he feels but more lore-interested than anything. I keep going back and forth on who I think the cursed team is

On one hand, I think Blue has a lot of evidence for being cursed. Dapper’s video telling Bad to win no matter what is a huge thing. However there’s something really odd that’s bothering me

Blue team is the odd one out THREE TIMES over now

In the opening cinematic with the observer, the 6 members on the screen are Elquackity, Cellbit, Etoiles, Jaiden, Maxo and Slime. All of these players are on Green or Red team

The loading art is with Etoiles, Cellbit, Ironmouse, Foolish, Baghera, Philza, Roier, Maxo, and I think Bagi? Once again all of these members are Red and Green team. It seems like an odd choice that twice now no blue team members are represented, ESPECIALLY since Bbh and Tubbo are extremely active members and Mouse isn’t so much. Why these players?

And the last thing is in the tickets. The special tickets are Wilbur’s, Phil’s, Slime’s, Vegetta’s, and Quackity/Elquackity’s. All of these members except for Quackity are red team, and Elq is green team. It’s three times now.

I think green or red was destined to lose. I’ll go a step further and say green was destined to fall at this event. It was very intentional. Elquackity helped Rojas Bolas win day 2 at least a bit. I think Green is gonna split into Red and Blue, and the merged Red team is going to have all of the green players from the cinematics. Thus I think if it plays out like this it will go

Red: Etoiles, Roier, Mouse, Bagi, Elquackity, Maxo

Blue: Forever, Fit, Mike, Kameto, Antoine, Rubius

I don’t know what this means for the cursed team, but it’s very weird that Blue three times over has been excluded. Either that is an indication that they’re the cursed team with Dapper’s video, or the merged Red + Green team will be the cursed team because they are the ones that keep showing up. purgatory is so karmatic, every path has something we can't expect.

i imagine —i do that a lot and i'm expecting to jinx it— if green team lost, what would happen? quackity studios told us they would die but maybe as a team.

i'm focusing on q!cellbit here because green team are his family, q!roier his beloved husband, q!forever his best friend and q!bagi his twin sister (at the end, he cares about her but is so bully as a love trait), even q!etoiles as someone he fully respects. being the brain of red team he knows they need to choose by strategy and not with feelings, i think they would feel betrayed someway. for blue team, either way they get more smart people for strategies and win against red team.

now, if they die? if they just dissapear and they doesn't know their destiny? at the end, green team has the partners of almost everybody there, the most important people for someone.

q!cellbit would lose everything in a second for a competition they need to survive, his mind would be a whole mess, he won with his team here but lost his family of the island.

blue team, from their part, is a sad ending too; q!tina losing q!bagi, q!pac losing q!fit, q!bbh losing q!forever, adding they're the reason why they would die, blood on their hands canonically.

The Cursed Team: A Discussion

Cursed Team Mechanics:

One team is cursed. If the cursed team loses, say goodbye to all of your lives and eggs. What team is that? Can you figure that out? No. So make sure you do your best to win. But if any of the other teams win, they can pick some of the eggs to come back with you.

How I understand it:

If the cursed team (left unknown/unknowable) loses, all islanders lose their lives and all eggs except those chosen by the winning team.

Likely, the islanders losing their lives is in taken in a non-literal manner. Otherwise, there is a story in place for the world beyond permadeath.

(i.e. Lives as Livelihood versus Lives as Living)

Possibilities favour the first option, due to the line "But if any of the other teams win, they can pick some of the eggs to come back with you." They will likely return to Quesadilla Island.

Following the logic of the following,

All members have a ticket, or at least a ticket designed for them, whereas Green has Rubius and Blue has Mariana

Has the most (2) eggs whose parents are solely on one team (excluding deceased eggs)

Egg War egg is made of the three surviving eggs with single parents (Tallulah, Dapper, Ramon) which each has a connection to a separate team

Ideal Strategy:

The options for all teams are as such.

1. Win and guarantee that they can choose their eggs to be brought back. (Works regardless of who the Cursed Team is.)

2. Let one of the other teams win in hope that that team is the Cursed Team.

3. Figure out who the Cursed Team is.

When offered a choice between a chance to achieve community-wide goals and a guarantee to achieve a personal goal, the rational self-interested individual will work towards a guarantee.

This situation is reminiscent of a cartel game - of the Prisoner’s Dilemma - but with more stakes involved. Please search it if you want to know more, I am not looking at that. A fun one to look at is "The Evolution of Trust" - the Prisoner's Dilemma is the basis of the game.

The gist of it is that sabotaging each other is always the better option in terms of self-interest, though a socially optimal outcome can be achieved by working with each other. The achievement of the socially optimal outcome is reliant upon trusting each other not to sabotage the operations. Therein lies an issue already, as ElQuackity was sent to sow chaos or something.

For Further Consideration:

The Cursed Team criteria is phrased weirdly. Usually, it would be expected that if a cursed party were to win, everyone else loses.

We only know what happens if the Cursed Team loses, not if they win. This is a loophole that may be exploited by the Observer.

“If the cursed team loses, say goodbye to all of your lives and eggs.” While the direct implication of saying goodbye means to lose in a permanent sense, taken literally, it could simply be an exchange of words.

“But if any of the other teams win, they can pick some of the eggs to come back with you.” The implication is that the eggs will be brought back alive and the eggs not brought back will be killed. There is no guarantee that this will be the case. The eggs brought back to the main island may be deceased and the eggs left behind may not necessarily be killed.

The Cursed Team could be a team not of the three existing RBG teams. In that sense, it could be non-existent and a ploy to encourage fighting, it could be a completely separate party acting as a benchmark, it could be a combination of members across the three existing teams.

Straightforward Conclusion:

The order of preferred winners in terms of minimal egg death (taken at surface level) is as follows - Cursed Team, Red Team, Blue Team, Green Team.

The most likely Cursed Team is (if the Cursed Team is one of the three) Blue Team (has the most anomalies).

Soulfire Purgatory Day 9

(SoulGayFire)

-green team was split between red and blue, Tubbo getting first pick Fit, Bagi, Forever, Quackity, Mike, Kameto

-Fit and Bad try to make it to blue base to gear up (Fit’s armor is trashed from the egg event and both him and bad are out of food)

-before they can make it bad gets a message saying that a bounty hunter knows his location. (Every 5 mins ones chords will be given away to a person that claims a bounty at center, it lasts for 20 mins but can be reclaimed) what this means is that bad can not go back to base.

-Fit has to leave but Bagi joins, she also gets a bounty. They loot greens old base and is chased out by rioer

-Bad claims a bounty and its phil, its the chords to his base (what bad assumes because it lines up with places he had ruled out and in the direction he had left to try)

-Bad ends up in a 3v1 kills Cellbit (he was lagging I believe everyone was struggling today) Roier and Foolish have a very long chase fight, Bad finally manages to get away, but is out of food.

-Bagi makes food at the old base. She is also killed by Cellbit

-Bad was pretty exhausted from hours of running around without being able to go back to base, bagi also very crushed as she has nothing

-Bad decides to check out red base, more so for psychological warfare he found it broke there bed and ran into roier, then foolish then phillza then etoiles. It was a very long fight that was very cool, Bads armor finally broke and was killed and his corpse looted. A cold event happened after his death and all of red died save one i think.

-bad still cant go home, bagi logs off. he loots green for something to wear Tubbo logs on and gets the run down from Bad. He is determined to win despite how pitful the score is the lack of team online and the bounty on there heels

-Tubbo claims a bounty (i think etoiles?) and heads over with Bad to reds base. Tubbo is elsewhere near by but bad goes into red base to have a look around, he takes a book and two cages before is met by Etoiles, he drops the items he took but Etoiles was not having it and killed him

-Tubbo gets into a 3v1 with Etoiles, Roier, and Foolish. No kills are made he gets away but is now low on food.

-Bad makes it back to red trying to retrieve his items, this time he brought a bed and placed it near by, as he goes to claims his items roier kills him. After roier allows Bad to retrieve his items

-Tubbo decides to stand gaurd at center so that bountys could no longer be made so that bad could go to the secret base and grab supplies for the tasks

-Bad and Tubbo start to collect for tasks and are joined by Tina and Fit. They grind the butts off. Bad is kicked for time

-Tubbo gets in a 2v1 with Cellbit and Roier (cellbit is kicked for time?) roier is killed. (Roier was lagging so it was bitter sweet) Tubbo takes his armor for bad but leaves the rest

-Tubbo, Tina, and Fit collect the last materials and rush to center before cutting it very close for time. With the last turn it the score is flipped and Blue wins

There's been a lot of theorizing on ElQuackity and The Eye knowing each other and the Watcher and the Traitor from the Judas book. It seems Black Cucurucho knew the Eye would hijack the Egg Island and wanted Forever to play a different game from just Purgatory teams wars to find out the "truth" about it. The Federation seems to be completely in the dark about all of these things which is interesting because they work with ElQuackity and they helped him kidnap Quackity and put him in a pool (twice I guess).

It all makes me think about why would Black Cucurucho kill Quackity. Was it afraid of Quackity saying to someone? Does it not like Quackity? It seemed fine with the other residents (manipulating them but still). Or maybe it does not like ElQuackity and mistook them? (In my opinion, killing a guy with no memories and who can't write or read is a bit much if you don't have any beef. And ElQuackity is very good at making people have beef with him.)

It is also interesting that one day before this happened ElQuackity told Forever (and Max I think) that Quackity was dead. It wasn't true then but the next day it was. Was it a coincidence or did he expect it to happen?

I think ElQuackity may be related to the Judas mission. It's so "convenient" that both of them are on the same team. And Forever was one of the few people who cared about Quackity recently but couldn't do much to help him before being shipped to the nether. ElQuackity also wanted to be president so bad and is related to protocol AB.

It all makes some very interesting character connections that still don't quite add up but we know will soon (only 1 more week of Purgatory after all).

Many have already analyzed how much of Green Team is resistance x federation. "Betrayal" seems inevitable here after all...

One of my main theories about purgatory and the island, is that they move in different times. Like maybe purgatory is ahead of the island which is why ElQuackity already knew about Quackity's death (if he is really dead, which I personally don't believe)

Now the reason why it would kill Quackity is more of a mystery, I don't think they confused Quackity for ElQuackity, but rather that he was just the wrong person at the wrong time. From the little we know about Cucurevil from Forever's nether stream, they seem to like to "play" and they certainly kept telling Forever that it was nice to toy with him but that they both wanted freedom now, so there are chances that for Cucurevil killing Quackity was nothing but a game, something to cement the way the character acts and all that.

And while I don't think team green is cursed in the way the eye wants them to be, they certainly are cursed in the ways that all of the members have very different alignments back at the island. Etoiles being with the resistance, Fit with the resistance but also having his contractor, Forever is the president but has a deal with Cucurevil, ElQuackity is ElQuackity, Roier and Bagi are completely anti federation but also don't align with each other most times (I'm talking about the members we see most often) so a betrayal is inevitable for real, like we know that at some point Forever will have to play judas, so green team is cursed not by the eye but by Forever and his determination to save his son.

With the blue team not going to pick richas comment I feel like tubbo and pac would vouch heavily for richas, not alot but still

Tubbo would, but since he's Chayanne's and Tallulah's godfather, they're as his priority. Even though he has Richas as his favorite egg, he still has his responsibility.

He'd be the third option. Same with BBH, he LOVES Richas but his kids (Pomme and Dapper) would take priority.

The only vouching for Richas as his first option would be Pac. But he'd be alone at it. The rest didn't have a strong connection to Richas, besides maybe Tina who had a stronger connection with Leo.

Green Team is stacked with Richas' parents. Bagi, Forever, Mike and Roier would vouch for Richas. And there's a chance that Quackity might have too, despite being El Quackity. Maximus too maybe.

Red Team fuck if I know, when I think about it. It's pretty unbalanced with every egg, it would probably be a fight to pick one.

Does anyone genuinely know who from green can actually log on today? Blue definitely has at least tubbo, BBH and Pierre but I know for green Etoiles is pretty sure he can’t get on tonight because he’s got prior commitments, fit and roier very rarely if ever stream on the weekends, bagi said she was taking the weekend off and the only person from that team I saw reply to the quackity studios tweet was mouse. It might be mouse vs blue 🫣

sorry for taking a bit to respond i put way too much thought into this

this is all based on their characters;

Red - Fit (2B2T lore and all) - Roier (was debating between putting him here on in rocks but this feels right) - Felps - Luzu - Ironmouse - Rivers

Yellow - Forever - Mariana (Cubito is a god but isn't confirmed to be able to fly (Yellows can be thrown higher than other pikmin + it feels right)) - Tubbo (Create mod is the closest thing there is to electricity so) - AyPierre (Same as above) - Wilbur

Blue - Foolish (Shark hybrid) - Baghera (Duck hybrid) - Quackity (Feels cruel but because of the pool he keeps getting sent into. He's survived in there for long enough to get water breathing I think.) - Kameto - Pol - Tina

Purple - Maximus (dude brought a whole nuke to purgatory . how did he do that. did he carry it himself. he can be purple for that. alternatively i was gonna put him in yellow because they were the only ones who could hold bomb rocks in pikmin 1 but i didnt have any purples so) - Vegetta

White - Cellbit (whites have X-Ray vision and are used to find treasures other pikmin can't + immune to gas bolasbolasbolas) - Missa? (my only reasoning is like . skeleton. whites are the closest weve got to a death based pikmin since they do damage when eaten so)

Rock - Etoiles (Does lots of damage + hard to kill (rocks can't be crushed)) - Spreen

Winged - Philza (Kinda cop-out choice for the bird hybrids but. yeah) - Jaiden - Carre? (im not really sure where to put carre actually. winged because his skin has wings and i like to draw him with them. alternatively could be purple with how he carried bolas early days /j) - Niki ? (no real reason for this just feels right)

Glow - Slimecicle (Strange little green guy + Immune to poison (was a hard pick between glow and white because again poison-toxins-code infection seem related in my head) - BadBoyHalo (It's the radiation poisoning /j) - Mike (feels right) - Arin (Computers/AI glowy aesthetic) - Bagi (at first i was gonna put her in white as well because mystery twins and all but glow feels more right to me)

Ice - DanTDM maybe? (ive got no basis for this other than ice kinda looks like diamond and i had no other characters for ice. hes ice bc his character got iced after 2 days logging on /j) - Willyrex (bc of the ice prison) - German (as above) - Lenay (as above)

Bulbmin - Logically I think all the eggs would be Bulbmin actually - You get Bulbmin by killing an adult with dwarfs following them and thats kinda like how the Federation claims the eggs came about (the dragon mother getting scared off by the wall exploding and leaving them behind) - Other than that it feels right that q!Antoine would be a bulbmin. i dont know why it just feels right
