Day 4 of @hot-glenn-holidays-2023 them "Naughty or Nice". idk why the first one wound up so Grinchy but I figured it fit with the theme. I imagine a rock version of "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" over it
(also: what are butts anyway?? personally I have never heard of em nor do I apparently know what they look like despite using a photo reference so yes I am aware he is like *ludicrously* caked up but I tire of fiddling with it so here goes lolol)

also pardon me but i wanted to share some Art Progress™ b/c sometimes it’s nice to look back at what you’ve done in the past and compare it to what you’re doing now
like this is what i mean when i say it’s good to keep some kind of record of your old work so you can look back at it later and see how much you’ve improved
anyway here’s a piece i did in high school compared to a piece i did today <3

(1)Learn the rules before you break them + Gather proper references

(2) Understand what you want to break and how

(3) Can't do it? Find someone who can
Tumblr media
(4) It's going to look really bad for a while

(5) Have fun with it!

(1) -Yes, I am that kind of artist. Yet, not in the conventional way. I encourage people to go in guns blazing when it comes to drawing something new, then coming out analyzing what they know, and what they need to learn more of right away.
-Here, I broke down the anatomical pieces of Nour and Narinder's face with the same labels so you guys can understand this weird invisible pattern that I follow in my work. Doing this with any animal you're attempting to draw greatly improves your line confidence when drawing different face shapes. Also understanding the biological function for why animals look a certain way helps you keep consistency.
(3) Time to throw any artistic guilt you have for heavily referencing people's art OUT THE WINDOW and start ANALYZING PEOPLE'S WORK YOU WANT TO BE LIKE✨ I've always done this, having a reference of someone else's amazing work right next to my own drawing so I can try and understand how they make their magic work! No shame, no embarrassment, nada. Pure, unadulterated will and spite that I would be just as good as the artist who made me so motivated and happy with their work! I couldn't figure out how to make Nour's face both sheep-like, and humanly expressive, so I looked at a LOT of Zootopia and old Disney art for help!
(2) With how I draw narilamb, I'm still working on it (as you can see) but I wanted to break Narinder's face to be fluffier and slimmer, while Nour's face would be shorter and flatter. If you look at it for too long, it's absolutely going to look weird, in the way that if you look at Anna from Frozen for too long she starts looking really weird. The anatomy isn't meant to be correct or consistent, it's meant to convey the emotion and energy I want out of the characters in that moment. If you're able to properly get that across, then you don't need to think about how broken something looks, as long as your eye is happy enough to trick your brain into thinking what you're seeing is canny.
(4) Yeah, I hate this part too. It's going to look like shit at first. I can't even look at my art from a few months ago when I was figuring out their designs... God, so fucking ugly. If it weren't for the shittiness of those drawings, I would have never gotten here! Wading through the "trust the process" stage always really sucks, but it's absolutely worth the relief of when you finally get something to look right.
(5) Art is work, yes. It's stressful, it's long, it's straining, its draining, it's exclaiming, blah blah blah. But, I try to keep my art FUN. If I find my artwork becoming slow as I depressingly drag my pen over my tablet, I'm failing. You MUST keep spirit and life in your work. The spirit of emptiness or the life of sadness can have a very meaningful place in art, but those can only exist with keeping work light, easy, and fun! If you're stressing how a specific thing looks or how you can't get something to look right no matter what, FUCK IT. Draw something to bring the flavor back in your work! I'm kind of rambling, but just, HAVE FUN!✨️ Be messy, scream, laugh, slash canvases, throw paint, smash sculptures, tear apart books, GO CRAZY

hate when people say “the only way to improve your art is just to practice by making more art!” and are totally right. why can’t i just not draw for months at a time and come back a prodigy? sounds like a scam to me.

I saw that post about you feeling down on your art lately and decided it best to say something cause anon was honestly so real with you being an inspiration.
It was legit your art that made me want to pick drawing back up after I abandoned it for months. I was feeling low looking at my old works and thought it was a waste of time. But then a few weeks back I went to look through twist content and found myself laughing at the jokes and admiring the cute art and wishing I could learn to draw like you.
I mean when I look at your art is see great poses, unique character builds, and smooth art. It’s all very lovely!
So I picked up some books and YouTube tutorials to start practicing things like anatomy a bit more and such to hopefully improve on my stuff. That reignited fire is largely because of you. So thank you! I hope that you get a bit of that creative fire back too and you don’t feel low about your art, it’s really wonderful content you post! I look forward to seeing your future works!
anon, I am crying right now, no joke. this is SO sweet and SO amazing to hear; there have been people like that for me, and I am honored to be one of those people for you. 💚💚💚
one of the things I try to remember when I feel really bad about myself and my art is that drawing is just...fun! the process of drawing is really fun! even if the outcome isn't what I wanted it to be, I try to let myself enjoy the actual act of making it, because that's worth something on its own!
...hopefully that makes sense! and if not, may I offer you this gif in your honor:

Do you have any art advice to try to get better at art, to go along with "keep drawing to improve"
I do and I will do my best to convey it in a way that is actually comprehensible as I am a terrible teacher lol.
A SUPER important thing I started doing when I was very young to learn art was to mimic a drawing without tracing it to try to understand how it is composed while not just turning my brain off and tracing over lines. Like having a piece of art open right next to where you are trying to draw the exact same thing. While there is something to be learned from tracing, that well kinda dries up quick. I found this to work much better, especially as I had already learned to draw basic things on my own. People like to lump all tracing in with stealing art but like just be polite about it and credit the original artist if/when you post it! most people will be chill if you just ask first and are doing it to learn! (especially if youre not even postin it)
Another thing is to give yourself what I like to call "silly sketching time" in between constructive learning pieces. Just draw the most garbage, easy to draw, fun thing you can possibly think of! If it's work work work all the time you're gonna burn out! but not drawing at all during downtime can be detrimental too. Just let yourself be silly with it!
Final big piece of advice for now is learn from things you LIKE. sure standard stuff like anatomy and perspective and geometry are important, but you can also learn those things WHILE drawing the stuff you're actually interested in!! try to understand how your favorite thing is constructed and learn techniques by drawing inspiration from it!

𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐊𝐓𝐎𝐁𝐄𝐑 𝟐𝟑 DAY 23: MEDICAL PLAY Kisuke Urahara x F! Reader
Requested by: @electronicwitchcollection ➡ Hiya! I’m not 100 sure on how this works. But For your kinkiest could I please request 2 and you choose which you prefer? I can’t decide 😂. I can’t wait to see them all 💜 both with female please 20 shunsui kyoraku 23 kisuke Urahara. tw: mdni. medical play. mentions of pregnancy. kisuke kinda gaslights reader. tied to the bed. fingering. squirting. vag. wc: 855 masterlist
Tumblr media
Kisuke Urahara isn’t a doctor, but he is a genius. Kisuke knows about the human -and souls- body perfectly well, and, when it comes to try new things, you are in charge of helping him…
“I honestly don’t understand the purpose of this experiment, Kisuke” you sigh, tied to a gyno bed.
“Come on, you know I won’t hurt you… I just want to see if Shinigami can get pregnant from a human without the need of a gigai” he calmly says, as he sits down in between your spread opened legs.
You widen your eyes. And lift your hands up.
“STOP… STOP! STOP!- WHAT? PREGNANT? KISUKE I AIN’T GETTING PREGNANT?” you protest, trying to close your legs with no positive result; your ankles had been tied to the bed.
You hear him scoff. How could he be that calm when you are freaking out?
Kisuke stands up and shows you how he in silence puts his gloves on. He comes closer, right in between your legs and smiles.
“I wasn’t planning on trying it on you… I just needed to take a look at your human features. However, now that you named it… I would pretty much wish my experiment was successful with you…” he jokes. -or maybe not-
You tilt your head and narrow your eyes. “You better don’t…” you sentence him, with your index pointing menacingly in motherly scold towards him.
He lifts his hands in sign of innocence and sits back down to keep “working” in your exposed core.
“I must say, however, that the idea might have turned you on, (Name)” he murmurs, playing with the wetness already forming in your sex. It was true, the idea seemed… interesting to say the least.
You soon notice the sterile intrusion of a latex surrounded finger. It makes you gasp, because you could swear your core felt a lot more sensitive than ever.
But you keep it calm. You don’t wanna give him the pleasure… why not? you still aren’t sure.
Then, a second one. He hums while he does, as if it was very normal to finger your “patient” with no sexual intentions.
“KISUKE!” you finally scold him. “What are you doing?” you ask, despite knowing it very well. He is having fun, and you will eventually come if he keeps doing that.
“What?” he mumbles, acting all innocent and peaking with his naughty eyes from above your legs. “I needed to test the way the human walls spasms around, in this case, my finger. I believe that part of a successful conception has to do with the capabilities of the female anatomy more than the man itself… this will be very helpful to improve my gigai prototypes”
You massage your temples, because even if it makes sense… you are sure he knows about that more than well…
“You liar…” you whisper, looking to the wall on the right. “Why am I a liar, (Name)? don’t tell me you can’t take it? Should I apply anaesthesia, so you feel more comfy?” he asks, smirking with a mocking tone.
You sigh, louder.
“Or do you want me to keep going because it feels very good? Mh?” he insists, standing up and coming even closer to your sex. “If you tell me… I can go further; orgasm is something I also need to fully study”
You feel your cheeks on fire, as you swallow and cover your eyes. “Go… further, Kisuke…” you mumble, shily -and honestly so needy-
“Say less!” he energetically answers back, and prepares to give you his special finger treatment… along maybe, with some vitamin D injection.
Kisuke sits back down, this time he takes off his gloves. “We don’t really need this, don’t we?”
One and then two fingers slide inside with no problem, and with beckoning motions he hits the upper wall of your insides. Kisuke knows exactly where and how to touch, and his hand on your lower belly pressing down makes it harder for you to keep it quiet.
You begin squirming, as the sounds of squirting liquids resonate all around his lab. You lose control of your lower half, trying to forcefully close your legs -and failing miserably-.
Orgasm is soon to arrive, and you can’t even moan by now… your eyes met his from above the brim of your hospital gown, and his smirk makes you shiver.
“Kisuke… I can’t- I am coming-“ you inform, even if he already knew by the growing spasms of your walls.
“Are you? Show me so I can take notes on every little sensation…” he whispers, calmly destroying your insides with his masturbating torture.
You nod, letting yourself go, exploding in a wet orgasm that bathes his forearm and gets him harder than ever before.
And, Kisuke, who is not willing to miss the sensation around his dick of your milking climaxing walls, immediately lowers his pants to guide his hard sex into you.
“Can I? this is also part of my investigation, you know” “Fuck me… you can investigate all you want, Kisuke ~” “Thanks for your contribution to science, (Name)… ngh fuck, you are too tight…”

do you have any tips on drawing heavy? I am struggling SO much with figuring him out. I cant get his proportions right
Tumblr media
I totally get it anon 😭😭 I'd say tho, that there's three key things to consider when trying to draw Heavy (or any character with heavy-set anatomy):
1 - try to think of their face or body in abstract shapes, and build up from there! Everyone's faces have a unique shape to them, and putting the building blocks down can help with the overall look of the final product!
2 - Heavy, for example, is a man shaped by his work life; carrying Sasha around all day works out the arms, shoulders, and back (mostly), so those would be the places in which he'd have the most muscle! Also also because of his body type (at least in my opinion), he'd have a considerable amount of fat covering those muscles, so it would give him extra bulk around the stomach, chest, and thigh area!
And 3 - References are your friend!! Looking at, and studying bodies similar to Heavy will help you draw him better as a whole, and also help you achieve the goal of him looking "realistic" (if that's what your going for) and improving his build naturally!! - (I usually get my references from Pinterest or google, and like to reference actors or athletes with similar build!!)
Whew that was a long explanation, but I hope it helped!! (Also sorry if my handwriting is unintelligible to some people )

A Message for the RotTMNT Fans
For everyone who is afraid of drawing Rise Raph because of his large body type and proportions, I am here to give you this message: I promise you, I would much rather see you try your best effort and it look a little wonky than for you to exclude him entirely from your art and doodles.
The reason I am able to draw Raph as well as I am right now is because I learned how to draw fat/muscular/chubby body anatomy in my early art career. But it's really never too late to start practicing! I encourage you, I implore you even, to take a few small steps out of your comfort zone for a bit and see where it takes you. If you want to draw him (or any favorite character from a piece of media you love, really) but are intimidated because of their size being abnormal from the thin/skinny, I want you to know that it's okay to be scared. What's not okay is giving up, quitting, or not even trying to attempt their bigger proportions at all. Because then that will bleed over into the rest of your art style/mentality, and there are aspects of your art that you may never improve on because of that. You don't know until you try.
I know it may feel awkward at first, and you may be intimidated by the pressure of getting it right, less anyone make fun of you or you get caught by peers or non-artists and be judged. Trust me, I know. I have been there! It's not a pleasant experience. But if you want to get better as an artist, you need to learn different body types. You need to unlearn the internal fatphobia that society has ingrained into your brain. You need to free yourself and allow yourself to make mistakes as you learn and practice to get better.
Raph is such a wonderful character and he deserves just as much love as all the other brothers, but I've talked to so many artists who all repeat the same thing; "He's so hard to draw." "I can't get his shapes quite right." "I don't draw him that much because I'm intimidated." You are 100% valid for these feelings, I promise. But I think it's for these reasons that you should draw him anyway, and learn his shapes, and learn to draw larger bodies and bigger muscles, because it helps you grow as an artist. And besides that, representation matters. I know there's plenty of fans out there who would love to see more representation like Raph.
So go for it. Even if you're scared. Even if you're unsure. Give yourself a little grace if you wanna draw that big lovable turtle, and do your best. And when it comes down to it, I bet that if he was real and you showed it to him, he'd love it and appreciate the effort no matter what. <3
