'omg mikes character used to be so important and now hes barely relevant to the plot :('

i hate to tell you this but.. its a byler thing again

in s1 and 2, mike is one of the most important characters because his motivations rely entirely on his care for will. like s1, everything mike does is to help find will. the reason he meets el. the reason he keeps her around instead of sending her back to 'pennhurst or wherever shes from', the reason hes around for plot happenings. Literally everything is bc of will.

s2, again mike is a main character bc he flat out Refuses to be apart from will for more than like 2 seconds. this man is down bad. hes like 'oh nooo will hasnt been in school and i am for some inexplicable (gay) reason so much more worried than my other friends so im gonna show up to his house and refuse to leave.' and this means hes around for plot stuff (also earlier s2 mike relevant to plot stuff is bc him and will are just the bestiest of bropals so will tells him more stuff than he tells anyone else, Including His Own Mother)

the reason mike is a main character in early seasons. the reason hes relevant to plot. the reason he actively Does Shit is because his main motivator is will. his character motivations are literally 'will is in trouble i will immediately drop everything and put my whole wheelussy into helping this man'

then we see the drop off of relevance in s3 and 4. Why?? because will isnt the driving force of plot anymore. will is also now more of a side character. mike is less involved bc will is less involved u literally cant prove me wrong im so correct and right about everything all the time.

my stupid, messy, and long-winded thoughts on jake having a crush on drew

to get it out of the way LOL: CANONICALLY, jake doesn't have a crush on drew. obviously. BUT this is just me taking how jake acts and trying to answer the question "but what if he did haha" bc im delusional like that. that's also why this essay is a lot more casual than my other ones (not much shorter tho, SORRY ABT THAT). probably won't talk abt canon events as much (other than the drakeup), but still lmao

ME, PERSONALLY, i think that jake would develop a crush on drew probably around freshman year-ish. bc, as ive said before, drew was the first person to want to be jake's friend. im sure it meant a lot to jake, especially bc we can assume that it was drew who talked to/approached jake first!!

(and lol, if jake started crushing on daisy bc she was the first person encourage him in middle school, itd only be natural for him to develop a crush on drew after he defended him from bullies, bought him things, and in general was his first close friend???? jk LMAO, but the point still stands)

i think the way jake would go about his feelings... he simply wouldn't do anything about them... besides hide them away and act like they were never there. but then again, that shit wouldn't work out, bc those feelings are so engrained in him.

bc jake really cares about what drew thinks, which is why he kept quiet about his past and his passion. and the crush would definitely be a part of that. like it's smth jake would view as "bad", and he would think that it's just an additional reason for drew to drop him. that's why, i think, he'd never purposely act on his feelings or anything. maybe the occasional gay thing will slip out of his mouth when drew's not around to hear it, but nothing actually intentional?

anyway. sing along if you know the words!!! JAKE LIED TO DREW IN AN ATTEMPT TO KEEP HIM!!! 🎉🎉

jake hid his passion for music and his crush from drew so they would be able to stay friends. bc, to him, it was the only way that drew would ever "like him back", even if it wasn't romantically. (he's wrong ofc, bc drew has a massive boycrush on him. but jake doesn't know that)

basically, all of that basically means that the one thing jake didn't want is for drew to call him a freak/for drew to leave. it just sucks i guess, bc everything jake did to make that not happen... became the exact reasons why it did happen.

and if we're gonna talk abt canon some more... i think this crush would add to jakes internal conflict throughout the series. like yeah. jakes got the club and he can be his full self with them, but since drew is his first friend (who he developed feelings for!!!), he finds it hard to let him go. which is why he sort of tries to defend/excuse the jomies, up until ep7 ("they're still my friends ... they're not like that all the time.")

TL;DR??? imagine my last jake-centric essay but 5x worse 👍 sorry this is so scatterbrained LMAO i just. have a lot of thoughts abt jake-centric drake, if u couldn't tell

eddies death made me cry for the first time in nearly two years and i am a master of repressing my emotions so great cool

eddie is a goddamn moron for dying like that and im mad at him

im going to construct intricate fantasies in my head so he stops being dead there at least

i feel like his character is about rejection, being unloved and only seeing the worst in people because of it. which is whyyy it would make sense if his ending was about accepting that people can be good and bad, guilty and innocent. that having done bad things doesn't ruin you as a person, bc thats what he keeps trying to show his victims, that they ARE bad people for their guilt and trauma. a satisfying resolution would be about convincing him to see the good in people. but his ending will probably be more along the lines of big explosion fireball eleven screaming.

Cain is 6'2-6'3, one of those two it's hard to tell. He's fit! Like a mix between gymbro style fit and someone who actually uses their strength fit; it's for his job

He knows how to cook basic meals and can bake stuff from the mix boxes. She's mostly just eating stuff profession chefs cooked or cereal

While at his job he wears professional business clothes. You know the look, we all know it. Button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up, no tie, slacks and boots that don't go with the professional vibe but she wears them anyway.

When not at work she dresses casually. T-shirt or hoodie and either sweatpants or loose jeans

For a lot of his life he stayed a pushover; even after getting tougher later on.

He was a nervous kid who didn't want to lose friends and ended up hanging out with a bunch of homophobes as a result of being too scared to speak up. She eventually gets the courage to drop those friends, though! Not before ruining everything with Lee.

( The two were friends when they were younger but got cut off after Cain reacted badly to Lee coming out )

In current day, Cain tries to play the silent angry stoic type, but he's secretly still anxious and has some Issues.

She's been seeing a therapist and a mandatory thing for her job, so she is getting some help, too!

37. Do they have any phobias?

I don't think I ever came up with any before, so I'm going to say no. Saying gay people is too low hanging of a fruit

39. Your character walks into a cafe. What do they order?

Either like. Eight shots of espresso or water. No in between. She's very bland sometimes ( which Lee very much let's her know )

40. What time do they go to bed, usually?

He most often goes to bed around 5 to 7am and them has to wake up at 10am. She's on a rough schedule

41. What's their morning routine like?

Get up, shower, get dressed, eat and get a coffee, brush teeth and then head to work. Basic routine, nothing special

47. What was their biggest turning point?

Meeting Lee again and getting assigned to look after him. Despite being a dumbass, Lee is actually emotionally intelligent and helped Cain out with some stuff.

Lee didn't hold a grudge years later and helped Cain through her internalized queerphobia [: happy ending!

54. What does your character want? What fo they need?

A shoulder to lean on and maybe even to cry on. Support, basically. He really wants someone he can be close and vulnerable with, even if he's scared of that

okay to start i ( f 14) was hiding my (m 11) friends vape (i know its bad but whatever) and my mom (f 34) found it her boyfriend (m 35) wasnt home (it was the before i was about to go to school) my mom threw it outside so i went to school im assuming while i was at school she told him so when i got home i picked it up i decided to try it (dumb idea) it tasted good so when i went to go pick up my little sister (f 11) and my friends (f 13) and (m 11 ) i hit it not thinking they were watching (they were) then i got grounded i didnt really care but then flash forward to 5 days later i got off my bus and my friend (m 11) was at home (he didnt go to school that day) so me and him went to my house then when i got inside my moms boyfriend was telling my cousin how im such a bad kid and how i vape all the time (lie) and she said she didnt care so i asked him if i could go play with (lets call him E) and my moms boyfriend said not rn maybe later so i waited and my sister got home so i told my grandma (F 61) i was gonna go to hang out with E she said okay so me and my other friend (lets call her T) went to pick up E , E was taking to long to get ready so we went in E's house then out of nowhere i hear my moms boyfriend screaming at me for nothing then when i got home he accused me of trying to get high or vape or even have s*x with E and T (btw im gay and so is E) then he says im not allowed to hang out with E so i say okay idc (btw i still am gonna hang out with E) then he says if i see you hanging out with E im gonna not let you hangout with T (first sign of a control freak) then flash forward 3 days later (yesterday from what day im making this) i was on the bus and obvi i dont want to go pee at school so i got off at the closer stop (i get on 4 blocks away from my house and the stop im referencing is right around the corner kinda close to E's house) btw (E, T, and my sister get off of the bus an hour after me) anyway i had to pee REALLY BAD like really fucking bad then i see his car and i go to wave then he rolls his window down and starts SCREAMING at me bc i was appearently "getting high with E" or "i was vaping again" (keep in mind i wasnt :l) then he said "go home and stand in the corner" of course i didnt cause i had to pee really really bad then i went to my mom and said to her "you need to drop your bitch ass boyfriend" she just stood there ignoring me then he came in screamed at me and said " I SAID TO STAND IN THE CORNER" so i explained to him that after school i need to go pee so i dont want to walk 4 BLOCKS to my house he said "I DONT GIVE A FUCK" so i said "im not pissing myself or developing a bladder problem bc of you" then he said to my mom "do you agree with me (lets call her K)" so obvi she agrees bc hes controlling if you guys ever watched coraline then you know the other mother controls the other father at his point my moms bf is the other mother and my mom is the other father anyway continuing then i go to the 4 block away bus stop with my sister E is there he comes up to me and says "your moms boyfriend (im gonna call him Z) came to my house and asked where my parents are (his dad was on a buisness and his step mom was at work) and said tell your parents K (me) and D's (my sister) DAD (keep in mind hes not my dad never will be my dad is in prison bc he got accused off selling drugs which isnt true bc hes a christian) said hes gonna come over after work ofc he didnt but still hes a fucking control freak hes also hit me to the point where my nose bleeds or my lip is swollen and also keep in mind my mom does nothing and says nothing (also they have recently started drug testing me

ok i just finished s1 of good omens (1 not 2 no spoilers please!! once i finish s2 which im sure will be soon you'll be able to tell as I'll flood the dash with it djksdf) and i wanted to word vomit some thoughts i had. major spoilers for s1 ofc but here they are in no particular order

IT WAS SO FUCKING GOOD. LIKE. SO. FUCKING. GOOD. i have a very short attention span and almost never finish TV shows, especially not this quick but WOW. i started it yesterday and am already done with s1, which probably doesn’t sound like much but it’s very rare for me.

i did get a bit confused at some points but i blame that on always having my phone or laptop open because, again, awful attention span. but that didn’t take away from my enjoyment tbh

okay so my brain is focused on eon and leo rn so uhm.ill ramble abt them bc they r the only ones w a coherent storyline (kinda)

leo is basically your standard high school drop out because he is a( tired b( traumatized so he just ends up working a bunch of retail jobs but quits them frequently because he gets bored or he cant stand the people there because he cant be bothered to go to college and eon is basically an ex mormon that moved to the town leo lives in for college and because he wanted a change of scenery.

So basically he got another job at like some 24 hour food service place thats not super popular where he meets eon because they come to the place every other day around the ending of leo’s shift to the point where leo just prepares their order before they arrive because eon asks for the same thing every time.

so one time leo has it already prepared when eon arrives but it turns out they wanted something else and they both end up talking because the day in particular had been slow and decided to hang out after leo’s shift and BOOM.they become friends

then sometime later leo becomes gay for eon because they arent annoying or boring and dont judge him for being a train wreck. The only problem is that eon had told him that they dont really date people because a(they are scared of commitment b(trauma and prefer they just do things with other people not because it means anything but because they enjoy the company
