Tumblr media
after a year and a handful of months of debating on if i should, or wanted to, do commissions (and with some convincing and hyping from friends) i've decided why the heck not!
so to everyone whose ever complimented me and hyped me up for my themes and graphics thank you and you're definitely another driving force in this decision.
making graphics is therapeutic to me and i take a lot of pride and joy in doing it, from seeing everyone loving the things i create. and i want to share that pride and joy even more, sooo if you've ever struggled with making a good theme, feel too lazy to make one, need a banner for a fic or masterlist, a header, or just need someone to help your graphic vision come together; i'm here to provide!
Tumblr media
before you commission something, or just want some examples, please check out my past work and portfolio!
PORTFOLIO | PINTEREST | ART TAG | GIFS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
PLEASE THOROUGHLY READ THROUGH THE RULES!!!!
✶ all payments will be made through kofi or fiverr depending on what you're commissioning. if you'd rather go through paypal that is also a valid option just message me.
when it comes to commissioning anything details matter!!! i need complete details of what you want to be created. i will not accept something like 'floral vibe' or 'something with browns'. that gives me nothing. i need a vision, i need as much information as possible, examples (but do not take them from other creators please i will decline your commission), you can take inspo or examples from my own themes, or go through my pin board. the more details the better. the greater i can make your vision come into view. this is important!!!
i will not use other peoples art. do not ask for it to be included in whatever project i am creating. everything i make is for personal use only.
you will get two redos for me to change something you don't like about the theme. a preview of the finished product will be sent your way and you can ask for something to be completely re-done, but after that no changes will be made.
please include your user or where you want me to send your graphics within your request.
there's not a time span in which you have to use the theme or graphic for, but a week would be complimentary.
you can commission as many times as you wish after i've finished the first one.
for my own personal reasons minors are not allowed to commission things.
we do not have to be mutuals, nor do you have to be following me to commission something.
you don't have to outwardly give me credit but please do not claim my creations as your own.
if you have any questions before commissioning something my messages are always open and there is never a dumb question. please feel free to ask!
✶ fandoms i will not accept commissions for: anime, supernatural, our flags mean death, good omens (because i am not in them nor have enough knowledge on how to make the vision really suit said fandoms).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
a full theme includes: a navigation banner and a header.
when commissioning a theme there are a few things that need to be mentioned and answered, so please include them in your request!
what kind of navi banner do you want? (refer to my portfolio for this, or if you just want something simplistic, big, small, medium, extra, messy, chaotic, etc)
what vibe are you going for? (dark academia, greek myth, ocean, dainty, horror, etc)
colors? (a must ok i need to know, if you give me none then i'm going to do whatever and choose what i think looks best and that's also fine if you want me to have complete creative liberties)
whats your overall vision? (can be included in the vibes section but giving me more detail is better)
text. (what do you want included on it, words, titles, information, quotes, etc)
examples. (like i mentioned in the rules examples are encouraged but do not take them from other creators on here and i will not copy, or make them look like someone else's work)
what kind of header do you want? (a simple png that goes along with the navi colors and vibe, a whole other banner-esk graphic, none, etc)
✶ see the add ons section below if you want more things included in your theme.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
now these add ons are only for themes. if you commission a header only, or gif, they will have their own add on options.
$1 - for dividers that match your theme in color and vibe (if you want symbol, graphic, or anything that's not color then the price goes up a dollar)
$1 - three+ icon options (want the perfect icon to fit your theme and don't want to do the searching yourself? i got you)
$2 - content warning + minor dni banners (i'll make theme specifically to match your theme, with your user, and whatever you want them to say or look like etc)
$3 - layout + navi formatting (aka i'll come up with a completely new layout format for your navigation post + your bio)
$4 - a gif header or a gif included within the navi graphic (this is the highest price because finding clips, extracting scenes into caps, making the gif, coloring it to match the theme, blending, etc, is a lot lol)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
a header commission includes: only a header. it is not a theme, just a mobile header, or a header for a masterlist, or fic.
the information needed for this commission are as listed below.
what kind of header do you want? (aka what is it for. this is important because the look is dependent on this information)
colors, vibes, vision. (more detail the better)
text. (if you want text on it, what do you want it to say, so title, etc)
examples. (not needed but a plus)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
gif commissions include: gifs for your fics or masterlists. not for themes or headers.
depending on how you want these little moving pictures to look you gotta give some details.
fandom, character, scenes. (don't just say 'any scene' unless you truly want me to choose whatever scene lmao)
how many? (the current cut off is six, if you want more then there's an add on)
coloring. (you can completely leave this up to me but if you want them to be a certain color then please let me know, i'll also check with you before making all of them to make sure you like the coloring)
text. (want them to say anything? a title? subtitles? dialogue from your fic? your username on them? etc)
add on: blends. (want two characters or actors from different angles, scenes, or fandoms in the same gif? i got you)
add on: textures. (if you want added details such as a texture on the gifs then this will be extra, but i need to know what kind of texture / details you want added)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
fic commissions: are only done through fiverr or paypal. if you are interested in commissioning a fic or any kind of writing then please refer to my fiverr and inquire over there or message me on here. thank you!!
Tumblr media
✶REMEMBER TO MESSAGE ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE BEFORE COMMISSIONING, NO MATTER THE TIME OR SUBJECT, I ENCOURAGE IT!
contact info: on tumblr, or discord: toldbylaur.
where to commission: kofi or pm me!

Please don't dismiss the voices of SA victims who fundamentally disagree with you. Please raise their voices the same way you would raise others, and treat their experiences as being just as valid and worthy of discussion as the people who find Val to be completely horrid. Frankly, were you to be *against* the idea of doing that, it would communicate to me that your whole shtick isn't actually about SA victims, it's about you feeling vindicated in your personal discomfort. Yes. There are people who dislike it for justifiable reasons and they deserve to have their voices heard. But please don't ignore those that have a differing opinion, and make sweeping, general statements. If you really care about people, you would do that.
TW: Rape, SA
I hope you understand the reason I post so much about the topic negatively. It's because I'm a victim of SA, and I don't like much about how this was treated. Mainly negative things because: Viv didn't take anything any SA victim said that was negative-towards her own show, like always. I saw my position in the matter greatly underrepresented, and that's why I type it all here. I saw plenty of people on Twitter that took the scene as a good representation and that they felt seen- and that's always great. Everyone need to heal and fell seen. How everyone was sharing how they felt 'in a positive light'- I felt I could write how I felt 'in a negative light' cause that's just as fair.
Also, if you realized what I have types over MULTIPLE post know, I don't even talk about the inside episode 4- mostly about the surrounding treatment.
If you think Angel is relatable and healing for your or others experiences, cool. Amazing, good for you! It's not for me and others, tho, mainly for things outside the episodes or scenes of Angel - Val. I have written about the things that me and others find criticizable- like the r-pe jokes in HB or HH. Why would you try to write respectfully all of episode 4 to then to a r-pe joke to Sir Pent in episode 6? See that isn't even about Angel or Val.
My last few posts aren't even about the writing of the show. But fandom stuff mainly. I have talked about how people treat Val like an uwu baby over the actual topic of R-pe and SA. I have talked about not liking that poison was directed by a NON SA victim with a r-pe fetish, redoing his own fan ship comics inside the show. Or the many other R-pe jokes inside Helluva and Hazbin that I feel take away from the serious message from episode 4.
My old post:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm talking about how I feel, yes! I'm an SA victim and I feel different than you or others. Never said that those people to fuck off- Its just not a view a share- at all. I never ignored anyone with a different opinion- I have purely communicated how I FELT AS A SA victim-mainly about the surrounding content of the situation. This is my blog where I post what I think. Post how you feel, this is how i feel.
(Weird timing maybe, but I thought I would've gotten a message like this after my earlier posts of Angel or Val or the Raph ones. But the most recent post is about someone crying cause someone else wanted a fictional r-pist character to die, LMAO. But maybe bad timing with the message, so whatever)
(BTW if you are an Anon I don't accept double message, because I can't confirm it's the same person!)

Hi I read your last post.
And I just want to give my 2 cents.
1. Why Tae is always doing it ?. I mean I get many ot7s here comparing it with hobi posting with Jimin. BUT the vibes they gives off is totally opposite. Hobi is just innocently posting his whatever updates with ALL members. You can clearly see an untainted affection to ALL members equally. But with Tae anyone with eyes can see and understand it's NOT like that. There was NO need for him to post that fake marker tattoo, there was NO need for him to come online twice or thrice just to say he was talking to JK or gaming with him, as if Jinkook was not gaming often. Fact that he doesn't mention anyone but JK, the main purpose of his visits is to inform Tkk news is so wierd. It very much rubs me in a wrong way.
2. Like you said, idk why he feels his fame will go away if he's not keeping on feeding tkkrs. JM was inactive for MONTHS. He barely posted during last 6-7 months, while he was working his ass off which now he's getting paid. But the rare times Jimin comes home it's to wish fans, say he's working, to say he miss and loves us. Even members share the same thing abt him - Jimin is working hard to prepare something huge. JK is inactive now for almost 2 months. So if 2 members of maknae line doesn't need any ship or glamor to keep their fans close why tae thinks he needs to ? Given he's the one with most followers among maknaes ? Is he not confident in his fans. Or does he know the mass breed following he has, who will disappear if he won't feed them tkk ? It's something we all knew but all of this confirmed it again, Jimin is VERY CLASSY.
3. Now boys know all the after effects of their actions. There was a reason why Tae came to weverse to clear it when he accidentally followed Jennie. So he knows it is JM's name will be dragged for everything tkk does. One can say he's not responsible for tkkrs. But one thing is spending time with your bandmate but he should also consider about his another bandmate who is bruttaly attacked each time he decides to feed them. If your action is causing major damages to people you claim to love everyone will be cautious about posting what is going behind the scenes online. Now last time he came live, I knew it was to say something tkk. And I wasn't wrong. EVERYONE can see the pattern, unnecessary pattern, but won't admit.
4. Now this is the most important. JK. If JK is with tae everytime he gives updates, then there's nothing, we as Jikookers can complain about. We may think what tae is doing is not nice BUT it's JK who's still choosing to do everything he shared with tae. Tae is NOT lying about these things. All of this indeed happened (except tattoo thing). So which is worse. Spending all time with one person or the said person saying it online ? In this sense, tae is not doing anything wrong, even if he has a hidden agenda. It was JK who spend days and hours gaming with tae, it is JK who goes bowling with his friends, it's JK who posted a cropped pic of their private trip, it's JK who went to tae before he went to Qatar or even the day JM was returning home from Paris. It was JK who didn't supported JM's work online, It was JK who's going shopping with tae. if JK likes to do everything with him, except coming online to say a Hi to his own fans or atleast give 2 fucks about Jimin's existence, tae is simply making it online. Not pulling lies out of his ass.
5. Even if this much happened which WE think is not nice from tae's side, Jimin and JK is not bothered. Jimin doesn't give 2 fucks about tkk, conspiracy theories or tkkrs. He doesn't care if JK is spending so much time with tae, not being there when he comes home, not supporting him on sm, he doesn't care of their cult fans are dragging his name, he doesn't care if these all stirs more conspiracy theories. He is doing his thing, he's making his album, he is coming online to wish fans, he is getting his deals, he seems so happy in latest contents, him and hobi share even deeper bond, he's GLOWING. Which is the MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR ME. JK doesn't give 2 fucks if Tae is saying it all online even in middle of his sm break, he doesn't care if it's stirring more tkk theories and rumors. It's obvious his view abt Fandom and how he approaches it changed. Now what does that tell us ? Either Jikook doesn't care about these things or it's just us reading all of this, I mean ALL OF THIS, wrongly - including Jikook.
So, I'll be honest, this ask coming from a totally blank account looks like bait. But in the interest of giving everyone the benefit of the doubt, I'll entertain you once.
Disclaimer 1: I'm a 1-year-old ARMY still making my way through content, so please take my opinion with a grain of salt.
Disclaimer 2: Your thoughts and feelings are valid--but none of us have the right to assume we know how any BTS member thinks, feels, acts off camera, or intends things to be. So understand your thoughts are your thoughts, not necessarily reality, and that we don't have a right to every sliver of these guys' lives.
First and Second Question: Why does Tae constantly namedrop JK? In my opinion, I think Tae's parents were forced by circumstances to leave him with his grandparents, and ever since then, he became an idol and an actor (and a good one) because he's afraid of being invisible. He doesn't want to be abandoned, so he will try on many different faces and personas. He will rarely share the "real" Kim Taehyung unless you're very close to him. He told us as much in an interview. I think Tae knows that he will always have a base among fans who like Taekook, and so he showcases Taekook. I notice a pattern to it, in the past year or so, though. Whenever JK or Jimin are trending or in the news (or if dating scandals are making the rounds), Tae comes online to mention only Jungkook and imply how close he is to Jungkook. And you know what? He IS close to Jungkook. Always has been. They DO hang out. I've never been in any doubt of it. Those two have been playing online and arcade games and doing sports and listening to music since they were fetus teenagers just starting out and they still are. I love that for them. I mean that sincerely. It's normal and healthy. And considering Tae sometimes hangs out with not-so-nice rich and famous folks, I'd much rather he chill with his members. Just my opinion, don't come for me. It does make me sad that Tae rarely mentions when he has hung out with Hobi, or Jin--yet they have both mentioned Tae has come over and hung with them, or had drinks and dinner with the whole group. I think this goes back to only a select few people seeing the "real" Taehyung, whereas V will share things online that he thinks fans want to see. Because he needs to be seen.
Third Question: Impact. Listen, all BTS members have Master's degrees in things like communications, entertainment, media, advertising, etc. They've been in the business for a decade. They are well aware of their impact, and likely follow it to varying degrees by using private social media accounts. I wish they each had training on how to respond to backlash or prevent backlash online, but it is what it is. So I think it's a safe bet to say they know when members get flack. But the extent of it? I honestly don't know. I'm not sure any of them spend too much time on English Twitter, gauging what rando theories nutters come up with. Creating online buzz is part of their business. Tae really seems to enjoy it. Jimin really does not. And we all saw a sharp direction change in JK, who used to come to us for Q&A sessions all the time, and now only updates for work. A decision he made round about the time the press started dragging Jimin for not getting his bills in the mail. At some point, for your own sanity, you have to stop taking responsibility for how others will twist things.
Fourth Statement: With the exception of the momentous occasion of headlining the World Cup, Jimin and Jungkook have stopped commenting on each other's social media, nor do they hype each other's projects. To me, this is so, SO much louder than if they just gave canned, lukewarm thumbs ups to things. You can take it to mean they don't care about each other's work, but, that would be inconsistent with 9 years of what they've said and shown us. The fact that Jungkook and Jimin are the ONLY two members not ever publicly hyping each other is... kind of putting a giant LOOK HERE sticker on their relationship, in my opinion. So if Jikook aren't showing us much evidence of off-stage Jikookery, then I look to the people around them.
The members, who all immediately look to Jungkook when Jimn struggles to open a food packet. Jin and Joon, laughing at Jikook acting out their own personal K-drama chase scene over gluten ramen. Yoongi and Hobi, rushing to explain why they heard Jimin's songs first to an upset JK. Joon, who teases JK specifically that Hobi is Jimin's #1. Hobi, who asks JK to do ace couples yoga with Jimin. Hobi, who explains JK is in charge of the music when Jimin is bumming around in his underwear at home. Hobi, who posted videos of Jikook playing games in the DC arcade. Yoongi, who automatically compares JK's organic approach to Jimin's hardworking style in the studio.
And never mind the members. Furniture stores that sell beds follow just them. Jewelry makers that specialize in couples pieces follow just them. Their tattoo artist has their initials forever inked on his arm. JK's brother kept up fanart of Jimin, Jungkook, and Bam online. Jimin's dad posted photos of JK's dog on his birthday. JK's mom made seaweed soup on Jimin's birthday.
I have never once seen anyone in the inner circle treat Taehyung and Jungkook like a unit this way. (Edit: I guess you could count that Wooga dudes follow JK on insta too, but, I just don't see people constantly linking Kim Taehyung and Jeon Jungkook together off stage. The only one doing that is Tae.)
Everywhere you look, the people around Jikook treat them like a couple. BECAUSE THEY SO OBVIOUSLY ARE ONE.
FIFTH POINT: While I certainly would not be comfy if my best friend led millions of fans to believe he were in a romantic relationship with my boyfriend, I am not the maknae. I didn't grow up with shipping as an expected part of my job performance, and I didn't trauma bond with all of my members in my formative years. I think Jimin (and probably JK, based on the fact he continues to hang with Tae) find Tae's behavior to be zero threat because... it's truly of zero threat in real life.
Personally? I think Tae is straight (or at least bi) and has had straight relationships and really wants to marry a woman and have children some day--not because it's expected of him, but because that would bring him joy. I do not think he actually wants Jungkook romantically. (You MIGHT make a case to me that he had a crush on Jimin, maybe. But those guys are firmly and solidly in the friends-for-life category, per Jimin's clear feelings for JK.) This is just the vibe I get. I have no way of knowing. But even though the cult gets whipped up and they go online and spout ABSOLUTE VICIOUS NONSENSE, as long as Jikook are unbothered, I gotta stay unbothered too. Because I trust Jikook to know what's best for them.
Instead, I spend my time and energy supporting Jikook and BTS as a whole. I focus on streaming, voting, buying, and hash-tagging my heart out, in between watching episodes with my friends, because I've learned to put my energy toward the things I want. And I chalk Tae's behavior up to insecurity and growing pains. It sucks but I think it's part of his journey.
Because whatever Tae claims or implies, Jungkook has been super clear with us:
Tumblr media
So that's all I'm gonna say on this topic. Thanks for writing in. I wish you a positive and joyful fandom experience, my dear lurking friend!
Yours,
Roo

Do you consider yourself a lore breaking, lore bending or lore adhering roleplayer? Does this adherence to lore depend on the kind of lore you're exploring with your characters; i.e. you play fast and loose with ideas xiv has yet to develop, but you tend to pay close attention to the fleshed out ideals? Is there lore you have modified that you're proud of and would share here?
I view lore as a starting point for me to jump off from and make my own. Always have.
I find strict adherence to game canon for its own sake creatively suffocating and always have, in every setting I've ever written in. It’s pretty much entirely because I grew up on DMing and writing in Forgotten Realms, which took a very DIY approach back in the day that was heavily encouraged by its creator. Everyone's Realms were equally valid, according to Word of God, and there were often intentional "blanks" left in sourcebooks for the DM to fill. These books emphasized over and over again that the DM was the ultimate authority on canon, not TPTB or the novels or anything else. That philosophy has informed my approach to worldbuilding in the transformative fandom sense for the last 30 years. That and being a queer Black femme of color who is very rarely satisfied by canon narratives rife w racially problematic tropes. I change things to make a space for myself and my characters and the stories I want to tell, by necessity. FFXIV is no different in that respect.
That said, I don't smash SE canon just to smash it either. Despite how bonkershits a lot of Gisèle's canon appears on the surface (eg. post-war Ishgard's constitutional monarchy with King Aymeric), everything I change has been carefully considered and engineered for as much internal consistency as possible. As much as I operate on Rule of Cool, I need things to make sense for me to have fun.
But I am distinctly not a roleplayer, for this and many other reasons. I'm strictly a fic writer, and I don't ever collab with people. The world Gisèle operates in is constructed entirely for her, and my own enjoyment, by design. So no one is forced to deal with my stuff if they don't like it.
That said, King Aymeric is probably the lore I’m most proud of. I wrote a ficlet for ffxivwrite last year on it here, but the cliffs notes: Aymeric invoked the ancient covenant between man and dragon when begging Hraesvelgr’s aid against Nidhogg and vowed he would restore it, but Hraes said that because that covenant was broken by an Elezen king, only an Elezen king could restore it. Hraes was wily though, it wasn’t just upholding weird draconic custom in saying that. His ulterior motive was to make Aymeric guarantee his people would be united enough not to turn on the Dravanians once Nid was handled. the end result is that Aymeric restored the Ishgardian throne (“The Azure Throne”, as a nod to Haldrath), but as a largely unifying figurehead/ceremonial position with Parliament strictly defining the role of the king. Artoirel is Lord Speaker of the House of Lords. Aymeric’s still LC of the temple knights in addition to his royal duties. He wasn’t giving that up lol.
making a constitutional monarchy plausible in the context of the story was challenging and I think I’ve done a solid job of it tbh. I wanted to lean into the Arthurian romance vibes of HW but also solve the fundamental problem I had w how it ended, which is that I don’t think it’s a terribly realistic scenario for ppl who were under a theocracy for 1000 years. Aymeric essentially having his hand forced by Hraesvelgr solves the issue of why he would restore the throne and tbh I don’t flinch from the complications of squaring that with the revelations about Ishgard’s founding, I think it only plays more into Aymeric’s ambivalence about the role he’s been thrust into.

Tumblr media
To be fair, I don't really feel safe to write nor share my thoughts here anymore, but I need to say this.
I don't enjoy rwby anymore. I'm honest and open about it. I despise directions show took with many topics, especially about mental health and suicide. I won't change my mind about it. I won't stop you from still having fun with the show either, that'd be asshole move of me. However, blaming criticism and different opinions on ignorance or malevolence is hardly fair. Different points of view come from many factors. Attitude of "any criticism (or rwde)= hate or stupidity" is a harmful oversimplification. By now it borders with censorship and policing other people's blogs. Even more so when you add to the mix people who demand what and how others can or should write. The attitude of only one "valid" interpretation is hardly fair to anyone as well. And these combined make a seriously toxic environment for any fan activity.
You have all the rights to protect yourself from things you don't want to see. You have all the rights to have content tagged for blocking purposes. To have fun everyone needs a safe space, so make sure you're doing good and protecting yourself from trigger exposure. But also check with yourself above problems. Everyone is more or less toxic in some aspects, myself included. That can and needs to be worked on though. For a small community that is supposed to be inclusive fun after hours, these issues are killing the joy and driving people away. Myself included again.
I have no will to write here. All my favourite characters got butchered, killed off or both. Imagine how it feels to have a fave that the creators take regular shit on, openly hate on and the rest of the fandom cheers along, despite nothing ever hinted this direction in early stages. And then getting accused of being hateful and ignorant for not liking the plot twist that ruined it and very clearly not wanted around.
I still check the dash out of reflex. I'm hoping to be able to rp and have fun again, but as for now, I can't promise anything nor make any final decision.
tl;dr: be fucking kinder to one another, would you. And to me too, I didn't come here to deal with this hateful "moral high ground" kind of bullshit

Hi. I'd like to talk a little about my time on social media as an artist. I'm sure a lot of this has been said by a ton of artists before me, but I'm going to say it again anyways.
My online handle is @ commiicc. I've gone by the alias Comic for a few years now. I was extremely active of Twitter during the height of the DreamSMP fandom. My time in this community brought me many memories and experience. Both good and bad. Today, I just want to focus on the art.
In my opinion and experience the art community of the DSMP fandom was so incredibly toxic. Artists were the backbone of the community. It was said time and time again. But this held many artists to unfair expectations. The turn around on art was insane. If art was not posted directly after or the day after the stream/ event it would flop. Posts would circulate about the perfect posting times, which I would memorize, then be so sad when I'd post at those times and a price would still fail. I'd blame myself. I'd internalize it and think I just wasn't good enough. It was never my art. It was simply the shit algorithm that is any social media, but that didn't stop me of course.
And I watched so many young artists beg for followers, because validation meant everything. And we all wanted to be mutuals with the popular, big twitters because that meant we'd made it... right?
I watched followers drop and people ask if they'd done something wrong to deserve it because canceling was so common. It was usually just bots being deleted, but "what if I did something wrong" was always everyone's go to.
Going back to artists being the backbone of the community and pumping out content. I used to say how thankful I was for the community because it made me grow and find my style. But in reality, I only found my style once I stepped back and took time on a piece. I was just slapping shit together back then. I hated most of what I made during that time. It was all rushed. Because no one gave me time. I always felt so rushed to post something so it gets attention. Post something so my followers don't think Im leaving. Because if you took too long to post (more than a week) you'd start losing people. I was a small artist and craved that attention... So I forced myself to create, even if I had no ideas. It's pushed me into burn out.
I'd compare myself to other artists who somehow created masterpieces in like two hours when it took me ages to do anything. I compared myself to everyone and hated everything I did. It was incredibly unhealthy.
I've only just now started making things I enjoy again.
Even when I switched fandoms I was still in the mindset of pushing out art, so I hate it all.
Only after burning myself out can I now restart and find my style... Can I now actually create again.
And I know that's just the culture of social media. and people used to tell me "just don't care" "just don't look at the views". do you know how hard it is to be a 16, 17, even 18 years old and NOT look at that??? to be a new artist and NOT care how much attention your art gets??? when a content creator that you love can see your fanart and has actually seen it.. all humans want is validation. Social media prys on that toxic need. On that innate human need. Cause yeah, we all want to know that what we're doing looks good, but holy shit was that place bad.
And I KNOW I'm not the first person to say this. I'm just trying to share my experience and I'm putting all this disclaimer here in case... So please just check yourself and remember we're all human. Social media is kinda awful and this is literally just my blog to share long thoughts and archive who I am. My time on social media fucked me up a little and I'm just now realizing it. That's what all this is.
So yeah all this to say, I'm done posting my art on social media for now. I'm done pumping out art just for the sake of it. When I create something worth sharing, I'll post it. But for now, I'll be in my comfortable void. I'm around and always willing to chat about the art making process or just chat in general. I'm creating. I always have been. I'm just not sharing it. It's not for your eyes.
It will be when im ready.
And new artists, young artists, any artists; your worth is not determined by the views or likes a post gets. Your art is worth more than any amount of attention it gets on social media. Don't create for attention. Create because you enjoy it. Create for yourself. That's where the magic happens.
thanks for reading. sorry this is long. I'm very wordy. thanks for being here.

I'm really hoping that the person in charge of that server was just really bad with their wording.... I get how hard it is to be a christian in fandom spaces, and I do think that viewing LU and LoZ through a christian lens opens up some very interesting topics! I was raised Catholic and Catholic! Legend and Hyrule headcanons send me into hysterics /p I think the big issue is soley in the third image and its wording. Benefit of the doubt, they meant no harm, but it's still concerning. "evidence showcasing how this ideology has become both predatory and overtly sexual" is the line that concerns me the most honestly. do they mean that there's grooming? this is a serious accusation if this is what they mean. i hope they reported it to the proper authorities instead of just complaining. stuff like that is wrong regardless of orientation.
Do they mean LU linkcest shippers? If that makes them uncomfortable, valid, they can simply respect Jojo's wishes on the matter and not interact, but they need to say if that is what this is.
Do they mean just shipping the chain with people from their worlds (sidon/wild as an example) If so, that's simply a matter of opinion, and they have the right to not enjoy that and simply leave without causing a fuss. they need to clarify if this is what it is. If they had just said "hey, this is a server for christians with conservative values who don't support or are uncomfortable with LGBT." Still shitty, but they're being honest and not accidentally accusing people of things without proof. They do have the right to have their own space as long as they don't attack others. and the queered to oblivion line is just. flat out insulting.
anyways i do hope this is a misunderstanding, and i hope they learn from this without hate mobs being sent their way. thankfully from what i've seen its mostly people memeing on them or voicing disappointment instead of death threats,,,,
Yeah
I made some similar mistakes in my word choice (not as drastic but still) when I was still new here. I'm desperately hoping that this poster was genuinely just not considering their word choice, or maybe just repeating something they heard and don't actually believe, or even just misunderstood something.
On the "queering to oblivion" point, I can see that this is frustrating for some people. Please, hear me out! some fandoms (i.e. Voltron) will make something all about gender identity and sexuality and lose a lot of the character, which can be frustrating. Now, if you headcannon a character to have a certain identity or sexuality, then yeah, if people don't like it they should just avoid it, but if the fandom as a whole makes a big deal about those things a lot (not saying LU does), it can get tiring if you just want to enjoy the character in their cannon form. Again, that's not to say LU does this, but it is a valid point to want to avoid those discussions and just have fun, especially as even within the community, the headcannons will disagree and contradict and may cause arguments (again, see the Voltron Fandom).
You are right in that it would have been better if they had said "we are a server of conservative Christina LU fans and would like to remain that way. We ask that those who do not not share conservative views do not join this space, for the sake and safety of all involved". Now that's just me spit-balling a potential phrase, and it may or may not sound biggoted to some people, but unfortunately, in my experience, anything that says "conservative" usually is labeled as bigoted by somebody (hello 3 hour rant of my housemate tearing down my faith).
I do agree that hopefully it is a misunderstanding and hopefully everyone involved can learn something from this about handling those who don't share their views. I just pray it stays at just memes and upset and doesn't escalate into threats and telling kids to kill themselves like last time :(

You know what makes you really uncool? Plagiarism.
OK, so I am exhausted mentally and emotionally here, but really given the events of the last week or so I really need to just set the record straight on a few things.
(In the interest of not clogging up everyone's feed with Not Fun Topics, I will be dropping the main body of this post under a break.)
Note: the intention of this post is for a PSA/fact-sharing purpose ONLY. I do not want anyone getting grief for this. Please just file the information away and leave people alone. Thank you in advance.
For those who don't know, I'm one of the admins for Harry Potter Fanfiction Club discord server. We discovered recently that The Adult Fandom Project discord server plagiarized our framework, and a few of the mods are now claiming that a) this is not a big deal, and b) that HPFC staff has been harassing them. This is not true.
We reached out to them through our ticket system (and very briefly through theirs) in a moderating capacity as they are were members of our server who broke a fucking rule. We were polite about it, and explained the situation, and offered to help them fix it. They apologized, said they'd get the verbiage changes up by the end of the week, but the channels were going to take a little longer. That's valid, no big deal. Well, the end of the week came and went and they still have giant sections of their server that are identical to ours, which was kind of the big thing we wanted changed. Between that and the vagueblogging (1, 2, 3) we spotted, it was pretty clear what they thought of our concerns -- even if I assume that wires got crossed and these concerns weren't clearly communicated (which is still possible.)
I want to be clear here: the issue was not "you made a Hogwarts-themed server and that really hurt our feelings :( "
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The issue is that they copied our shit and didn't even TRY to change it. So, yeah, we're kinda ticked off about that.
That's also just a small section/example. I have receipts, which includes (in my view) proof that 3/4 of the TAFP mods we spoke to were likely not engaging with us in good faith, and were only interested in crafting a narrative that painted them as the victims and us as the aggressors. If you've been following me, you probably know that me engaging like this at all is unheard of... I straight up do not do this shit. I much prefer to stay in my little sandbox with my blorbos and mind my fucking business.
But they came into MY HOUSE. They stole the blueprints and fancied themselves architects, but didn't bother learning how to dig a foundation before they "built" the frame.
It's all well and good to preach about "making the fandom community you want to see" but when push comes to shove we've been doing exactly that for 2 1/2 years. Those blueprints they stole? That's the result of 35+ staff members busting their asses and polling what is now a fairly large adult-only fandom server (sitting at about 2.5k.) All those events and infrastructure? It developed around and grew with our community -- our foundation. It's all fine-tuned for HPFC's use. We would have helped the folks over at TAFP figure out their own infrastructure if they'd just... asked.
That's kind of the crux of the issue here. If they had asked, this would be a non-issue. But they didn't ask. They just took. And they don't respect the work that goes into making something like that -- if they did, they wouldn't have stolen it, but they also wouldn't tell us it doesn't matter when we call them out on it.
As for what comes next... I want to be extremely clear here: I do not support any harassment of Ollie or any of their mod team. This includes publicly bashing the server. Literally, please do not do that. I disagree with the way that they handled things, and I am angry, but all that I wanted was to clear the air and explain what happened and why my entire team is so upset right now. I do not want anyone getting hurt over this any more than they already have.
Thank you.

You know, it's weird to see someone's behavior from the "other side" after so long of your gut reaction to be to dismiss the people who were speaking out against Lily.
I wasn't even someone who interacted with Lily that much, only sent her a handful of asks but even still there was a certain way that Lily primes (which is a word I wasn't aware of before TGT so I'm grateful for that term) to accept a certain reality as true. I don't want to toss the word "cult" out lightly, but it's really the closest word I can describe to the experience. And I wasn't even anywhere close to being a friend/anywhere near her close circles like some were.
A part of me still has that gut reaction, that dismissal but as time goes on it's getting harder and harder to ignore, especially seeing how the things she's saying are blatantly wrong. And the fact it's just her saying them, while everyone else is saying something else.
For me, it started with her reaction to Hunter. Say what you will about the fandom reaction to him, which I can agree can be cringe at times, I cannot fathom the utmost hatred that Lily seems to have of him. To the point she literally cheers when she saw the pile of dead Grimwalkers (my mouth dropped open when I read that). I'm naturally drawn to characters with hard home lives, be that because of empathy or because I see myself in them I don't know.
I could understand simply not liking a character, I tried convincing myself that's all that it was, but the fact she looks at a child who lives in abusive home situation and feels actual contempt for him is sort of disturbing. She literally hates him more than Belos at this point, the actual abuser not only to Hunter but to the rest of the cast as well. She's convinced herself that hating a character is justice, (deliberately chosing the POC/gay characters over him as a sort of reactionary push back against white favoritism that isn't really genuine) but it falls flat when you just end up hating male victims of abuse. Not even getting into the comparing him to Kylo Ren, which are only similar if you squint and willfully delude yourself.
There was other stuff too, (the Hunter thing isn't even why I unfollowed) but the fact I was made to feel bad for liking a character because of behaviors of a fandom I had absolutely no part in; well, when you already subconsciously pit your views to what Lily wants, the cognitive dissonance really stresses you out. And I wasn't ever in her direct line of fire, that was just what being a fan was like.
I don't know if there's a point to this, sort of just needed to rant about how I've been feeling lately. Thank you, and everyone who calls out Lily's behaviors for what you do, it really helped me see the perspective on this whole thing.
I'm happy to help anon, and thank you for sharing.
Always remeber your feelings are valid around here.

Avid fans have ruined fandoms and media for me...
People who want to know every detail about the show, and especially Pedro, wig me out. I don't understand why they need those details. And I don't just mean The Mandalorian.
My brother has ruined One Piece for me because it seems his whole life revolves around it. He's always talking about certain characters whose names I don't remember and powers I don't have memorized. Because I have a lot to do outside of the media I watch.
I had a friend over the other day to binge watch Danny Phantom because I just got into it. I thought we chill, watch the show, and just have fun. But I didn't even make it through the second season because he was just constantly talking over it and hyper-analizing it and telling me about about fan fics he'd read about this or that part of it. I just wanted to watch it and enjoy myself, but I couldn't because I was so irritated by him talking over it and interrupting. I finally had to ask him to leave and I felt horrible that I wasn't as into it as he was.
But that just isn't the way I consume content and it was making me uncomfortable. I mean he practically followed me into the bathroom still talking about the show.
I just watch shows to calm down or just relax and dissociate. I don't need to know how Danni learned ghost skills when she was practically a baby. Or where Pedro is every waking moment. Or how Law was raised. I'm happy to just find content I enjoy and watch it. That's it.
Idk if I'm alone in feeling this way or not. Sorry if I come off as a b*tch in this, I'm just tired of people being so nosey and rabid about media.
Experiences are different for everyone and I am am not going to say that yours are not valid at all. I tend to enjoy the press that comes out, I enjoy studying the characters and coming up with theories. But I'm not debate lore and canon for hours on end.
I do think that there is a vast difference in tracking a real life man's locations and things to do with a show or a character.
People hyper fixate. It happens. I LOVED The X-Files when it came out. Loved it. Books, boxed VHS episodes, magazines. I loved diving into that world and exploring it. I'm sure I drove my parents crazy with it, but it was something that brought me a lot of joy when I was going through those angsty teenage years.
Please curate your own experiences and filter out those that make you anxious or upset. There are various ranges of all fans in any section of a fandom and I highly encouraging blocking those that are not to your liking. No explanations needed to anyone.
Now. I do have to ask why you are dropping this exact commentary into multiple people's inboxes?

why would you have such a strong take about hp on here but you admin findrps and didn't make them ban it there?
RE: my responses here and here
please go reread them for me...
yes i have a strong take on harry potter and how i personally cannot separate that art from that artist. which is why i personally do not partake in those roleplays and i won't ever do so again. this is my personal opinion and own personal feelings on the matter which is why it is on my own personal rpt blog. i also stated that i am not here to cancel people for roleplaying whatever they want to roleplay, because i'm not the morality police. i do not want to be the morality police, i just share my own opinions on this blog because that's what it's for.
however, i am also an openminded person. i listen to other people when they talk and among the admin, mods, staff & affiliates teams all have very varying opinions on harry potter. everything from wishing to reclaim the fandom to stronger anti hp takes than my own. i see everyone's perspective and point of view as valid while still holding my own beliefs because while i don't like it, i'm not self righteous enough to think that my opinion is the only correct one. it's a nuanced topic with lots of opinions from multiple sides!
we decided to do a poll to get an idea of how people feel about the topic of banning hp rps to let the community have their voices heard, and to get an idea of the general feeling in the server. we already have rules in place to make racism, anti semitism, bullying, krps, celeb rps, smut or m/s rps, or any taboo plots such as inc*st, omegaverse. we also rule out PLENTY of other things - so we already have extensive rules and it has always been hoped that those rules would be enough to keep everyone in the server safe. however we will not hesitate to make further changes if needed. the very large community of people are what's most important here, not my own personal opinions. i'm grown up enough to see that.
not taking more questions about this here - please direct them to our contact forms in our server or @findrpssupport but i don't want to speak out of turn for the admin team which i am only one member of. remember anything on this blog is my own personal opinion and not anything to do with findrps

Hi, I’m back!
It’s alright!! No need to apologize for talking about a subject you like. I got a little excited realizing what you were going to do. Don’t be so hard on yourself when I’m the one asking for you to speak your mind. The thought put into these makes me smile!
Okay, I wanted to talk about abuse and familial relationship. Right. (After edit: shit, this is long)
See this is what I’m appreciative of about your fic, the family dynamic even when most of them are fucked up. I’m gonna start talking about my own personal feelings about family so get ready.
Before anything, just because they’re your family doesn’t mean you shouldn’t put them at any fault, or that because they’re your family you should forgive them. That is absolutely not what I’m trying to say here and I just want to point to a different view of things.
For me, family has become more of an importance over the course of my life. I don’t think some people realize that for people like us, we can’t just cut them off when they’ve done something wrong because they’re still important to us. It’s easier to say something like, “cut them off”, when you’re not the one experiencing it from someone you look up to or care about.
It’s okay and normal to still want someone you’ve known your entire life still in that bubble. Same for the opposite. Of course, it does depend on who and what they did but that’s not the point I’m making. Abuse victims all feel differently about what had happened to them and that is to be respected.
You don’t have to like them for them to be important to you. That’s the part that really hurts for me.
Now to talk about the abusers is really hard because they’re terrible people and they’re the ones who caused harm upon another person, but to demonize them for the way they are isn’t really something I’d call a great idea. That spreads harmful ideas and doesn’t get the help some of these people probably need.
Really want to comment on something about Bro Strider and the fandom here, but I don’t want to make this longer than I know it’s already going to be.
Still, forgiveness should never be one of the first things people should think to do when it comes to their abusers. You forgive them when you want to, it’s not an obligation. They can get better and you still aren’t obligated to forgive them.
I don’t think abuse is forgivable just like that. It undermines what the victim went through and the effects it psychologically still has on them.
The question isn’t if we should forgive Bro Strider, it’s if he can grow better as a person. Growing to be better shouldn’t be about earning forgiveness, it should be for you. In Bro Strider’s case, to forgive and help yourself.
Again, really love your fic and appreciate it wholeheartedly. I would add more about your response but this is too long for an ask. I know you kinda touched on these but I just wanted to add my thoughts.
Thank you for sharing your feelings and personal experience! I feel like, as you said, everyone has their own experience with their abusers and this tends to influence the way they view the world and even the way they approach content! And there's nothing inherently wrong with that, and so even though I won't read and also don't care at all about portrayals that create a Strawman version of a character that, for all intents and purposes, doesn't have an actual personality, it doesn't mean I think they're not valid for needing that, or exploring that space. It's just not for me.
My favorite things you said here:
- You don't have to like them for them to be important to you.
- You forgive them when you want to, it's not an obligation. They can get better and you still aren't obligated to forgive them.
- The question isn't if we should forgive Bro Strider, it's if he can grow better as a person.
(that last point is kind of one of my (joking) thesis statements for RNG heh)
Thank YOU for letting me blabber away and also, talking to me in return! No one ever really asks but man I could talk about this stuff all day, I love the guardians and the speculation and also, obviously at 500k, you might imagine these are things I spend a fair amount of time thinking about!
Seriously, it's so much fun for me, you are welcome to come bug me at any time!! c: here or at my sideblog (desertsfic)! It's really fun for me!

https://www.tumblr.com/dekusleftsock/695132405438300160/httpswwwtumblrcomdekusleftsock69512224796750?source=share Finally changed my username, but it's still the same person from earlier. Again, thanks for indulging my nerdiness. Not everyone thinks so, but I adore analyzing XD. Funnily enough, psychology is something I'm studying right now. That's part of why I felt tying in the trauma plotline would fit. I'm waiting until the series is over to get started so I have all the pieces, but I'm gathering the notes right now. As far as different trauma responses go, it really needs to be said: While not everyone forgives or wants to work things out with their abuser, some do and it helps them move on. Generally I feel like people gatekeep that way too much, acting like people who want to patch things up or who are not resentful are "broken" or "wrong" in some way. It comes up again and again in this fandom in regards to Izuku. They don't understand Izuku nor the series because it still chooses to view bad people as people whose feelings need to be acknowledged. Honestly I wouldn't have as many problems with the whole "abuse shouldn't be forgiven" thing, except that I've seen it actively prevent some people from getting help they really needed. They still love that person regardless of the bad behavior and won't even consider admitting anything's wrong because to them it'd mean letting go of said person. The Izuku and Katsuki conversations remind me a lot of those people. Izuku still loved Katsuki, even after all those years, and would never consider giving him up for any type of reason no matter how valid. So I really have to say it: Love and tolerance aren't related. You can love someone and still not tolerate their bullshit. The Deku vs Bakugo part 2 fight is a good example. You can clearly see that Izuku cares about Bakugo, but he's not tolerating his bullshit either. Sorry for the rant, but I see a lot of people conflating love with tolerance when they talk about abusers and forgiveness, so I really needed to get that out here.
Agreed! I think horikoshi illustrated how not coming to terms with your abuse can actively harm you or others by using dabi and shoto as parallels. (Using his first name so it’s less confusing lol)
Natsuo and Fuyumi are supposed to be the healthy examples of forgiving or not forgiving your abuser. The thing with forgiving or not forgiving your abuser, is that kids media vs the kids/teenagers that watch it is that there is an actual maturity difference. This is because often times kids media is made by adults with more experience, and it’s watched by kids with less experience who can get angry at this idea.
Forgiving your abuser isn’t necessarily a “more mature thing to do”, it just happens more with people who age. Whether that be BECAUSE they got help or because they DIDNT get help.
I think another interesting thing to point out is the difference in women vs men who forgive their abuser. To you a man, if someone has hurt or wronged you, you are weak if you forgive them in any light because being vulnerable is “feminine”. “Real men” by mitski is a really good song that talks about toxic masculinity in men and their inability to be emotionally mature or be vulnerable.
In women though, they are seen as “naturally more vulnerable and empathetic”. This affects how you view people who have wronged you; putting yourself in the position of being the “bigger person” and forgiving your abuser for the betterment of the family.
I think there’s a lot to be said for the shame-fullness of forgiving your abuser, but there’s also a lot in NOT forgiving your abuser. Especially in older generations like gen x or boomers, they often see this as “unspeakable”, bc if they DIDNT forgive their abusers, most of them wouldn’t have talked to their family. And this pressure is especially put on women to forgive.
Personally, I think no one should tell anyone what they should or shouldn’t do with their abuse/abuser. Just as long as you yourself are happy, that’s what matters. Living in spite can be extremely exhausting, just as much living in complete optimism is also exhausting.
I know I’ve kinda been slandering Izuku all day with his inability to be emotionally mature or vulnerable, but like, it was really mature in how he saw Katsuki. Not the immediate forgiveness part, like I said before that’s something that’s mature depending on the person. But I mean more so with being able to forgive HIMSELF for the abuse he went through. He blamed Katsuki and got angry at him, but he never took that out on anyone; not even himself. He never blamed himself for his own bullying, never defined himself by his trauma. Insecurity as a consequence to that trauma? Sure, but he never actively hated himself for going through it. Shoto is someone who did the opposite! He defined his very being by “disobeying his father” and “becoming a better hero than him”. THATS NOT HEALTHY! Shoto wanted to be a hero to NOT be his father; is that not defining yourself by your abuse? And Izuku knew this. He knew this was unhealthy, that shoto needed to be broken out of it. And what did the mother fucker do? He yelled at him. Used his own projection of how he views all might ONTO SHOTO so HE could be better. So that shoto himself could be a better person to himself and others; so he could be a better hero.
Now that right there, is maturity.
And last thing I wanna say, I feel like there needs to be a serious discussion where people just honestly say and understand that there is no “right way” of responding to abuse. You don’t have to forgive, or accept them as they are, or hate them, or anything. You can simply exist so long as you are HAPPY. You are CONTENT.
Please guys, I will shout to the rooftop until everyone actually starts processing and analyzing their trauma. It’s a chore, but it’s important so you can be happy.
Edit: forgot to mention. I agree with when you said how you wouldn’t have a problem with not forgiving your abuser if it didn’t actively hurt people. AGREE! Like there’s some things that should just, not be forgiven, but I feel like there’s only one “idea” that people have of forgiveness, and it’s in the instance that your abuser changes and then you’re like “yay we can be besties/partners/parent and child again!!!!” when that’s not really the case. You can simply learn to accept what happened and move on. Accept someone as they are and decide what to do if that person continues to abuse you or not. All of this takes time and experience and just general intuition. If you’re unhappy, take a step back and really look at what the problem is. It’s important!

48 and 79 for the writing ask :3
48. Who is your favorite character to write for?  Has this changed since you’ve started writing for that fandom?
regarding just p*kemon (since i've spoken about hyl*cs characters already lol): honestly, i've had fun writing all the chars i've covered so far! i wouldn't write extensively for a char who i don't think is interesting in some way. now if i had to pick faves... once i got a real hold of his voice, emmet became a lot of fun to write! but alsooooo i really enjoyed the brief span of time that i wrote bede LOL... it turns out that his smug pompous voice is very entertaining to do 0:)
but hey, if you ask me? most of da juice is in how chars interact with each other. half the fun of writing piers/emmet is portraying them in contrast; bede was so great because i had marnie and hop there to no-sell his bullshit; etc etc...
79. Do you have any writing advice you want to share?
ooohhh uhhhhh... i'm reluctant to position myself as some kind of authority on writing lmaoo but in my experience the moments you don't spend writing are just as valuable as the moments you do. i don't even mean "experience new things to get inspiration for ur works" (although that's great too), i just mean it's important to rest and do other things. take a walk, talk to your friends, lie down and listen to some music... don't worry, ur creativity is simmering on the backburner. it's a vital part of the process.
also, in spite of having ~L'Autisme~ i find that dialogue writing isn't all that bad for me. for people who struggle with dialogue for whatever reason -- well, this may not be feasible for everyone but try listening to as much spoken, spontaneous conversation as you can and see where it gets you. me, over the years i've watched like 59834503 hours of video game streams by very funny and lively people who play off each other in really interesting ways, and i'm convinced that contributes a lot to how i write dialogue. of course that's not 100% naturalistic either (because people are gonna change how they talk, in some way, when they're in front of an audience) but it's pretty darn close, and really it's rare for a work to need absolutely 100% naturalistic dialogue anyway. it's art, after all! and most art involves at least a little stylization...
OH YEAH one more thing. sorry it turns out i have a lot to say for someone who claims they don't want to give advice lol but imo try to avoid saying things like "i suck at summaries" or "i don't know how to write endings" like at the very least keep it off the fic itself. it's perfectly valid to not feel confident in some part of ur writing (everyone does this!) BUT if you don't draw attention to whatever you feel are your weak points, you may be surprised at what u can get away with. look at it this way: saying that stuff is priming ur whole audience to take a negative view of it from the start, while not saying it... sure, some people might do that anyway, but genuinely there will also be a ton of people who won't notice or care. in that sense you can only go upwards!

the fuck is this blog
wow i'm so glad you asked!
i've spent a longggg ass time on this site (long enough i can't say how long exactly in case you know how to subtract. whoops.) and haven't made a proper intro post for the whole duration. this is it! this is the one. have fun reading this? i guess?
basics
i'm kind of a fandom blog, kinda not? i mostly reblog and don't post original stuff often, but i do occasionally, and that stuff is either just my thoughts or sometimes fandom content. i am part of many, many different fandoms, so if you came here for one thing, expect to see other stuff too! also, i do engage in discourse and post politics. i do understand that some people come here to escape the world we live in, and that is 100% valid, but as an 18 year old american student with not much income to speak of, engaging in civil discourse online is one of the ways i stay politically active since that's accessible to me. if that bothers you, this probably isn't the blog for you!
triggers, tone indicators and nsfw
i'm not going to share my triggers for my own personal safety, and also because they are the kind of thing that get tagged for being fucked up anyways. i am totally willing to tag for triggers myself (i usually use "// [thing]" as a trigger tag, so if you don't have that blocked for the trigger in question, do that!), and usually i remember to tag common triggers. if you have a less common/more general trigger or just one you've seen me not tag for, PLEASE feel free to dm me/send me an ask and i will absolutely start tagging that for you! if you're an existing follower and i post things with your trigger without tagging for it and you'd like me to start tagging, please also feel free to let me know. i'm trying to become better about tagging for triggers and i understand it's important, so just reach out if you have any concerns in that department.
as for tone indicators/tone tags, i sometimes use them and i sometimes don't. if you'd like me to use them more or for specific things, just shoot me a dm or an ask, but know that i am often very forgetful when it comes to tone tags specifically so i can't guarantee anything
i do sometimes reblog nsfw content. i always tag for it- if you have "nsfw"/"// nsfw" blocked you should be all good if that's not stuff you wanna see- but please take this into account before following me and follow at your own discretion. you have been warned
politics
i am a queer radical leftist and a trans-inclusive feminist!! i am primarily a socialist, but anarchocommunism is neat too. i believe all people are people and are deserving of respect, resources they need to live, and resources they need to be happy. i'm pro-choice, pro-bodily autonomy in general for all people (including disabled folks), pro-queer, pro-trans, pro-woman, pro-inclusion and pro-respectful dialogue. i am anti-capitalism, anti-language/label policing, anti-generalization of any group of people, anti-exclusion, anti-racism, anti-sexism, anti-bigotry, and anti-reactionism. i want to be clear i am not anti people- i do my best to respect everyone regardless of their views, but while i respect every individual, i believe i have no obligation to respect every individual's/group's beliefs.
as for the very prominent discourse on tumblr about shipping fictional characters, i think it's really fucking stupid that people feel so strongly about others finding solace in imagining certain fictional characters kissing or fucking or whatever. if you are one of these people: go outside, touch grass, and funnel that anger into issues that actually affect people's real lives (e.g. reproductive rights being taken away, the policing system, the healthcare system... stuff like that.)
also, please be aware these are my views NOW, as of the date on this post. as i've said i've been on this website for a hot minute and my views have shifted and changed over that time period, so if you find something from like 2019 that totally contradicts what i've said here, that is why.
dni
i don't believe in not interacting with people purely based on their beliefs or random characteristics about them (this is a personal thing. i don't think there's anything morally bad about having a dni) if you are capable of having a civil dialogue and respecting me and my identity, i'm happy to have a good faith discussion about pretty much anything, no matter what your views are. that being said, if you are not in fact capable of that, please leave me alone thanks. also if i fall into your dni, do yourself a favor and don't interact with me

if you've read my bio, you already know the drill: i'm jay, i'm a bi trans dykeboy, i'm 18 and i'm south asian american. i'm currently a full time university student double majoring in neuroscience and theatre design (feel free to send me asks about either i will go crazy). in my free time i sing, play guitar, write (or stare at blank google docs for hours), and hang out with cats. i don't exactly know what i want to do other than parenting. i have adhd and that makes life sucky sometimes but it's also very much a vital part of who i am (for me personally). otherrr than that, i can't think of anything, but if you wanna know something my asks are always open! i will not share identifying information though for obvious reasons.
so yeah that's me! if there's anything i forgot just let me know. thanks for reading :)

What do you think of this post? :/ I thought it’s absolutely disgusting and wanted you to tell me your opinion on this?

I think the best way to handle this is to take this view by view as he's got a lot of opinions shared in one post and I'd like to handle it topic by topic: Issue #1 that Zero Shared: EA is spending too much time working on fixing "social issues/respresentation issues" rather than fixing more important aspects of the game. My reaction to this is a bit of "Well, why can't they do both?". Why can't EA fix the game's core features and work on making sure that representation is included? Because part of the issue is that this game is supposed to allow people to feel like they can create sims that represent them. And if those sims do not look like them, or have the ability to interact with the world like they do, that magic is lost. I also should point out that this is something that the custom content community has also had to step in and help, and that it's pretty important that the CC community, if it REALLY wants to promote representation and social awareness, should NOT paywall aand should make sure that the quality of such CC is acceptable. I was sent this screenshot of an excellent opinion shared by a BPOC simmer in Dollhouse Mafia:
Tumblr media
But in the end, it really is up to EA to make sure that their game represents the sims/community well, especially since console folks CANNOT use CC. And if they do not have enough people to make the game excellent for everyone AND address any representation issues brought by the community, then they might need to hire more people, or dare I say it, partner with the custom content community. Electronic Arts surely has the money between all of their franchises (Fifa, sims, etc) to be able to pay for programmers and artists. If EA cannot manage to both make the game playable, and representational of real people, then they frankly don't deserve to be paid. Period. The second issue Zero brought up is the issue of the community and social justice. Now, as a member of the sims community he is certainly welcome to his opinions (even if they're misguided), but I'd like to try to share my thoughts on it. First, why does he assume that when people in the sims community speak out about social issues, they are ONLY talking to people about the sims? I don't know about you but with tumblrs tagging system, there's lots of ways to get posts seen by people outside of your own fandom. To assume that simmers only talk to simmers about social issues in sims games or in the world in general is a pretty narrow viewpoint don't you think? I'm sure the same can be said for just about any other playform that people talk about the sims on. Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, Youtube, etc. There's methods to be able to have your message reach beyond the audience of a specific game. In addition, I'd like to assume that when people talk about social issues that matter to them they are also educating other people in their life about it. For example, as an autistic person, I routinely teach my friends, family, and yes, even my students about what life is like for me with the way my brain is wired up. I am always advocating for autism acceptance. I can't turn it off. It's to the point that my students know not to use "autistic" or "retarded" as an insult in my classroom. Now, he does bring up a semi-valid point that there's more to causing change with social justice than just talking about it. Yes. Some action needs to occur. For example if you try to raise awareness for the rights of one group or another and don't take any actionable steps, then you're just expecting others to do all the work for a cause that you care about. But, for Zero to assume that this is all the community does and that there aren't members of the sims community actually going out and taking actionable steps is a big brush to paint people with. {Because imagine having the cajones to assume that you know how every person in a fandom spends their own personal time. You must be God, amirite?} There's a saying that when you assume you make an "ass" out of "you and me" which is why assume is spelled that way. And in this case we are seeing a prime example of someone making a bunch of lame ass assuptions and painting a community with a giant brush all because they're pissed that a game they don't want to play anymore isn't being updated in the way they like. Which creates some very odd and slightly nostalgic imagry in my brain:
Tumblr media
^ Literally how I am imagining Zero acting right now, but with much more crying like an actual baby. So honestly, I'd just tell him to grow up and get over it. If he doesn't like how EA handles stuff, he can stop playing. But he doesn't need to make baseless accusations of the community to do so. /shrug The sims helps people enjoy something away from the real world (in fact the sims can often be a safe escape from a world that is dangerous/unfriendly to some people), and if they desire to have the game represent them, they deserve that. So stop being a pigeon pooping on people's hotdogs, and let people do what they want without your judgement. If you don't like it, then don't read people's opinions/blogs, and just move on. They don't need heckling from your peanut gallery, and your "clout" as a creator. As long as they are not actively hurting other people in the community, they don't need controlled or "karen'd". Also I'd 100% recommend reading @anachrosims' take on this situation as well.
