Ooookay just got my WWF update in the mail and apparently Russia have deemed them undesirable and therefore support for Amur Leopards can no longer continure without them having severe punishments.
cats of all types and sizes are god’s perfect killing machines and i can only hope and dream to achieve the raw athletic potential and destructive force that felids are capable of. all while looking like :3
Recently learned that it apparently was a folklore belief in Korea that tigers and leopards were the same species and that 1/3 of a tigress' cubs became a leopard, and thats hella cute
One of the highlights of the trip has been the Philadelphia zoo. I’m extremely biased to my local zoo but I think they have some incredible enrichment at the Philly zoo and might go on record as saying it has some legs up on mine.
We happened to catch the end of the Galapagos tortoise time. The trainer would place her target down and they’d amble eagerly toward it for a bite of delicious watermelon.
But the best bit was two who were munching together.
They ran out of watermelon and slowly both their necks rose as they simultaneously decided to fight each other for more delicious sticky treats (which neither of them had any longer).
The trainer huffed in exasperation and marched over, ramming her stick down and ordering like a drill sergeant, “Girls! Target!”
Both feisty ladies immediately desisted their display and turned obediently to the magic yellow circle of watermelon.
Also, WWF immediately puts you to support Jaguars, just in case any of you are worried about your donations but they give you a slip that you can fill in to change the animal or cancel the donations all together.
I chose to support the Jaguars (although I gotta be honest, I thought I already was lol) and I am currently looking for a way to re-support Amur Leopards.
I just do not understand this decision and apparently it was announced back in June but it's only now arriving in the post to people who support Amur Leopards.
