I’m honestly STILL so upset that they canceled The Order on Netflix! I fucking love that show. It was so good 🥺 it had so much potential!!!!! We were left on a HUGE cliffhanger. Like at least give us one more season to get closure 😩

Watching the order... Finished season one and I'm pissed.

I thought, oh they worked together to defeat the big bad. How nice of them to get along. Interesting that Vera is okay with Jack being in both groups

But then!! They said just kidding! Dusted all of them and then stole all their shit?! Alyssa dusted Jack so hard he doesn't even remember his name?

I'm really starting to hate these blue Rose bitches, I hope the werewolves are somehow immune to the dust and they rip them apart as revenge.

 MISS PAGEANT’S CHRISTMAS PROPOSAL by Tabetha Waite

It took me a bit of time to warm up to spoiled diamond of the first water Emary as she tried to snare the Duke of Winwood but as the story progressed, I began to warm to her. And Donovan, for a man at first unimpressed, fell smitten rather quickly.

 TEMPTING THE SCOUNDREL by Tracy Sumner

Loved this the second time around just as much as the firs time I read it. A watchmaker and a maid who find true love together after a young man saw and fell in love one night never knowing he would see his dream woman again years later.

 Did I enjoy this anthology? Yes

Would I read more by these authors? Yes

more things I realized about The Order particularly on themes

spoilers ahead!

ok ikk the show is like 2+ years old but this is if any newcomers come by

⭐️

themes: cheating death / risky life and death situations

so there’s no clear answer that Vera Stone used Fors Factoram but she basically did based on her reaction 💔 and her knowledge about the incantation (and seemingly how very few know about it she must’ve done something to protect it)

Vera risks her life so many times for the greater good. There also have been many attempts on her life. She has cheated death when she casted Fors Factoram some time ago (time period is an assumption)

S1

- the necromancer sisters could’ve gone after Vera, especially Renee’s sister after the wolves botched the Elemental Transferrence

- Alyssa was supposed to kill Vera but Vera showed her who Coventry truly is

- Vera was the only one to see through Coventry and be brave enough to stand against him. She had to play the political game to figure him out and turn people against him, and even sided with the dangerous (at the time for her) wolves

S2

- Rogue wolves could’ve killed many Order members including Vera

- Foley set Vera on fire and a budding practitioner wouldve definitely perished from that. I mean girl had no skin anymore omg that was a scary scene. Powerful queen to heal herself from that

- Rogwan, Vera was going to sacrifice herself for the Excidium spell. Lilith saved her by defeating Rogwan

- Vera was supposed to die from Salvador’s suicide plan but Jack saved her and she even risked killing Salvador first although they were bound by ribbons (she didn’t call Jack for help to cut the ribbons she just shot Salvador)

- In the final ep Alyssa was going to kill Vera (maybe even the time when Alyssa took Vera’s magic if Vera didn’t have the knowledge on Fors Factoram) but ended up not

- Midnight came for Alyssa but didn’t go after Vera when earlier in the ep Jack was like oh shit Midnight is gonna go after both of them

‘You like him, don’t you?’ Abby asked, tilting her head slightly to get a better look at Alyssa. Her best friend was sat at the desk, either doing Order or college work, Abby couldn’t be certain. Abby herself was sprawled on the bed, a magazine open but ignored in front of her.

‘Abigail!’ complained Alyssa, looking at her sharply. ‘He’s an acolyte, it’d be -’

‘Totally wrong?’ Abby didn’t bother trying to hide her amusement; she felt the smirk spreading across her face. ‘He’s kind of cute. If you like that whole… vibe. I could put in a good word with -’

‘Abby, no,’ said Alyssa.

Abby awkwardly raised her hands in a peaceable gesture. ‘OK, I promise not to do anything.’

Alyssa surveyed her for a moment before heaving a sigh and looking back to her work. ‘Thank you.’

‘But you do like him, right?’

‘Abby!’ Alyssa complained, but this time there was laughter behind it that told Abby all she needed to know on the matter.

Season 3 Alyssa coming back completely fucked up. Like Jack brings her back and they do manage to get rid of the demons without killing her again. But her throat won't heal even after being stitched back together. Even healing magic only serves minor temporary improvements on it. She has to use preservation magic to stop her body from rotting, which requires her to devour animal sacrifices. Without mortal limitations, she's more powerful than ever, but she's also more monstrous.
