The Inspiration You Needed
Idol!Kim Hongjoong x (Gender-Ambiguous) Fanfiction-Author!Reader
Summary: When you experience writer’s block on a piece about your boyfriend, he decides to take the day to help inspire you.
Word Count: ~2.2K
Warnings: So much fluff
Tumblr media
"Do you like it?"
You lift your head from your current project to see your boyfriend with his stylist behind him, both sporting nervous looks of anticipation. You find his new hair color - white to violet ombre - absolutely adorable, but know that they want a more "sophisticated" answer. He brought you here for critiques, not to swoon.
"I like the idea. It looks good, but what about full lavender hair with violet underneath? I think it'll look better for your softer concept."
The hairstylist looks over the ombre hair again, mentally envisioning the look you suggested. Ultimately deciding that, since the test colors can wash out with water, she would try it. She drags your boyfriend back to the other room, so you turn back to your work.
Although only a hobby, you love to write and seem to more effort into it than you do at your day job. It does bring in money, but nowhere near enough to quit your boring secretary job. You never expected to garner any attention when you started your fanfiction blog, but you quickly gained a following. After only two years, your blog accumulated nearly 3000 followers. You receive plenty of requests, one of which you were currently trying - and failing - to progress on.
See, none of your followers know that your closest friends and your boyfriend all happen to be idols, so requests stump you when they include people you know, especially when you can't imagine the scenarios happening at all. For this request, you needed to write about how Hongjoong would help his significant other with work-related stress. While your boyfriend has helped you relieve stress plenty of times before, the real Hongjoong serves as a bad example for a good fanfiction. The real Hongjoong sits silently in the room unless you ask him for something, knowing how you enjoy your space. You certainly don't believe that idea would work for your readers, most of whom probably expect sweet Hongjoong to help with cuddles or singing to his partner.
"Earth to Y/N!" You hear the stylist call you again, so you look up from your notebook once again. "Finally. Here's the lavender Hongjoong look. I do agree with you. This fits their concept a lot better. Thanks for suggesting it."
"That's why I'm here, after all. I prefer this look, that's for sure."
You catch the nervousness in Hongjoong's smile melt away after hearing that you like the look. Despite having to go back to get the true dye job done, he much prefers you here to help. You have the fan's point of view: you knew the group since pre-debut, KQFellaz, days, followed each comeback and all the chaos it caused in the fandom, and kept up with a handful of theories that arose. After all, they haven't told you any secrets despite being close friends, so theories are your lifeline, just like any other fan.
"Oh, Y/N! You're here?" Once again raising your head from the paper, you meet the face of another friend.
"Hi, Yeosang! Are you doing your hair next? Hongjoong should almost be done." You shoot him a smile as he settles by you on the couch.
"I'll wait here then. What are you working on? Another piece for your blog?"
You nod but add, with a sigh, "It's another ATEEZ request that I can't figure out. Why can't Hongjoong be a typical boyfriend that I can use in my fanfiction?"
Yeosang scoffs at your whine, "You don't want him to be like a fanfiction boy. You and I both know that."
"You're right. I would get sick of a real-life fanfiction boy. Hongjoong is perfect now. I just wish I could write requests for you guys easier. It's hard to imagine a lot of things people want ever actually happening in real life."
"Then, let's try doing things the fans want to read." You and Yeosang both shoot shocked looks to Hongjoong, who emerges with his new pastel hair job completely finished. "Your turn, Yeosang. Thanks for keeping my love company for a bit."
"Good luck, Y/N. I hope you figure things out." Yeosang winks at you before pushing himself off the couch and heading into the room Hongjoong came out of. Almost immediately, you hear the stylist's laughter booming, making you roll your eyes at Yeosang's antics.
Hongjoong laughs at your reaction then holds his hand out to help you off the couch. You place your notebook and pen in one hand and accept his gesture with your now-freed hand. When you stand, he takes advantage of the situation and pulls you in close for a quick peck on the lips.
"How's that for your fanfiction?"
As embarrassed as the situation makes you, his proud, corny smile only lets you send a smile back. He hardly does sappy, fanfiction-worthy things, so the few times he does - even jokingly - make you gush to extremes.
"Let's go be a fanfiction couple for the day. What a perfect way to celebrate our 100 days. I'll gladly help you with inspiration for your request."
He doesn't let you respond as he walks back to the entryway, dragging you roughly behind him, only to be met with a crowd of fans - something you note after dating him this long is easily avoided and simply used as a plot point in writing. Although Hongjoong clearly announced his relationship status on "Knowing Bros" after Kim Heechul asked him for a kiss on the cheek, nobody has seen his so-called "partner" before, so many still search desperately for proof. This reveals any proof they need, even if they can't get an identification on who exactly you are.
At this exact moment, you're exceptionally glad that you haven't revealed your face on your blog. You know that someone will catch a picture of your face despite hiding it the best you can. As you keep your face down, you follow your boyfriend's pull on your hand. He suddenly stops, but you don't catch it in time, slightly bumping into him. He rubs his thumb over your hand as he clears his throat. You slightly lift your head at him, seeing him smiling and waving at the fans.
"Hello, everyone! Didn't know you would be here; what a nice surprise. I would like to finally introduce you to my partner. They're a little shy. You guys were starting to wonder whether they were real, right, ATINY?" With a laugh, he lifts your chin and gives you a look that assures you it'll be okay. As you send a smile out to the fans, the mixed reactions bring a weird sensation to the pit of your stomach, partially from nervousness and partially from unexpected acceptance.
Most of the reactions, surprisingly, implied acceptance and even happiness. You hear a fanboy in the front row say that you complement each other well, which definitely sticks in your mind and brings a smile to your face. The two of you stick around for a bit, talking with fans and answering simple questions they ask.
"Okay, everyone! I think it's time for us to go. It's our 100-day anniversary, so I have to treat them even better than usual, and I'd like to use as much time as possible. You guys are all so great but don't forget to take care of yourselves! Don't sit out here all day!"
With Hongjoong's heartfelt goodbye, the two of you walk off, hand in hand.
"So, Joongie, where are we going?" You ask after around ten minutes of following his lead.
"There." He points in front of him with a smile. As you follow his finger, your eyes land on your favorite arcade. He watches as your smile grows wider.
"Time to kick your butt again?" You joke, even though you usually have close games. He laughs but says nothing as he leads you to the arcade, holding the door open for you.
Instantly, you head to your favorite game. He pays for the game credits before finding you exactly where he expects you. He jokes about your predictability and hands you the card, reloaded and ready to use. He lets you play this game alone, admiring you and taking photos of your focused form.
After an hour of playing games, you guys dry out the credits and decide to head out instead of reloading them again. He brings you across the street and to the fourth floor of the building, to a sweets shop. You sample a few before deciding on your favorite, which he buys for you both to share.
As you guys walk through a beautiful tree-lined street, your happiness makes all thoughts leave your head. You don't even notice that he's brought you to a high-class restaurant until he opens the door for you.
"Hongjoong, do you have a reservation?" You ask, nervously shrinking in on yourself since you feel out of place.
He ignores the question and walks to the bar, sitting directly in front of the barback polishing glasses. You can't hear the conversation but clearly see the man give Hongjoong a black paper bag. You follow Hongjoong out of the restaurant, your thoughts hyper-focused on the paper bag. Before even realizing it, you're at the apartment complex you live in. As you unlock the doors and head inside your apartment, you register your boyfriend's voice for the first time since the restaurant.
"You want to see what's inside, right?"
He holds the bag out towards you without waiting for your response. When you look inside, you feel the curiosity fall away, defeated by the simple object in the bag. You pull out the box, wondering why the man would give Hongjoong an ATEEZ album.
"Open it. I've had this in the making for a bit now, so don't you dare claim that I'm not fanfiction material."
As you open the album case, you find the typical photo book replaced by one titled "An Image Worth 100 Words." As you flip through the book, you find a collection of pictures of yourself. Most of them are ones you never knew he captured, with you focused on working on various writing projects. Next to the photos are short writings. As you continue to flip through the book, you realize that the writings form a full song that you've never seen before.
He watches your reaction as you read the song. As you finish, you can't help but hug your boyfriend in glee and praise him for his hard work. As usual, he blows off your praise by saying that it wasn't much and that you're worth so much more, but he also tells you to put the disc into the computer and play the contents. As it starts, you realize that he wrote and composed this whole song for you. You laugh when you hear some of the other members' voices in the song, meaning that he got them involved as well.
Shyly, before you even ask, he admits, "They didn't want to be left out. They said that our 100-day anniversary also equals 100 days as best friends with you."
You laugh at the boys' antics, knowing full well that they probably just wanted to annoy Hongjoong by forcing him to let them join. They probably won't even bring it up to you at all. Regardless, you do enjoy that they joined. It somehow makes the "album" feel less cheesy and more real.
You leave a quick peck on your boyfriend's lips before walking to your desk and grabbing a box that was sitting on top. As you hand it to Hongjoong, you admit, "It's not as good as your gift to me, but I know you'll appreciate it nonetheless."
You watch nervously as he opens the box and pulls out the notebook. As he flips through the pages, you see his face perk up.
"How long have you been writing this, Y/N?"
"Probably close to three months. I know you said you loved my writing, so now you have a story that's only for you. It won't be posted, and I haven't shown anyone else."
At this moment, an idea finally comes to mind about the request you had. Seeing this, Hongjoong motions for you to write it down before you forget it.
On a random paper, you scribble the words "soft subby Joong" and smile at it. As Hongjoong looks over your shoulder at the idea, he pouts, "I'm not subby."
"I know, Joong. Trust me, I know. But sometimes the readers just need something soft. This is the easiest way to write it since I'm very kind to you when I'm in charge."
"That is true. Well, happy 100 days, my sweet love. I'm glad I helped with your writer's block, and I can't wait to read the story you wrote for me."
"Happy 100 days, Hongjoong. Thank you so much. For everything."

Bro I love Raph so much, he adds such a nice layer in the dynamic with his brothers in all the series and I’ll go over a bit of this below!
1987 Raphael
Tumblr media
Besides Rise, I feel like this Raph is an overall chill dude. He’s mainly sarcastic and his ‘brute-ness’ is in his insults. Sure he fights a lot, but it’s at around the same level of violence as the rest of his brothers. I really love that he breaks the fourth wall so directly, it’s so neat to me when characters do that, which is a reason why I like Rick and Morty and Parks and Rec (although Parks and Rec is different because it’s live-action and the characters know about being filmed. Rick and Morty has them as cartoon characters that don’t know they’re a show, or maybe not. There’s a lot of theories, but I digress). He’s voiced by Rob Paulson, who also voiced 2012 Donatello, Foot Luteniet in Rise and is the voice casting director for Rise as well (This doesn’t add anything to the rating, just thought it was neat). Sassy, fun, mentions multiple times that the reality he lives in is a children’s cartoon, he’s great.
8/10
Next up is the tiny angy boi of the early 2000’s
2003 Raphie
Tumblr media
I love this Raph’s personality! Smart mouthed, hot-headed and quick, I wish I could fire insults as well as he could. In this version, he’s more open about how much he likes fighting and physically trains quite a bit. Although, as a character, I feel that he’s lacking and a bit dry. The only episode I can think of where his character was expanded on was the time he looked out for a kid as hot-headed as he was. After that, I can’t think of anything else. He also HATES bugs for some reason, we don’t what reason, he just hates them and I wish they had more on that. I also wished there were more episodes with just Raph and Casey, they’re fun to watch with one being angry yet smart in battle with the other being semi laid back, but rushing in. On a surface level, he’s a cool character, but since he’s not Leo, he doesn’t get the spotlight that much.
5/10
And now, my SON I seriously love him wow
2012 Raph
Tumblr media
He’s still angry, he’s still small but he has some more fun details to him! The rips on the ends of his mask, the crack in his shell, his two pet turtles/fire tortoise (???), his nerdy hobbies. I really liked that they were showing him saying stuff like ‘tickle attack!’ and also keeping the good ol’ ‘I give a flying-!’ kind of attitude. He not only feels like a teenager, but he feels pretty fleshed out. Unlike, 2003, his bug phobia is very prominent in quite a few episodes and I think that was a fantastic decision! He has hallucinations and panic attacks, which really grounds him as a character, his phobia is something that genuinely affects him and he manages to get past it. He still despises those creepy crawlies (who can blame him) but he makes sure it doesn’t get in the way when it comes to protecting his family and friends. Also, he’s just plain adorable, even when he’s ready to murder someone. He’s also the only one out of all the turtles in the 2012 series to have a lovely romantic relationship with this BADASS ALIEN LIZARD GIRL. And she’s not just there as a romantic fill in, she’s important to the turtles space adventures and in the final season as well (despite that we hardly see her after that episode, but I’m not going to get mad about that today). Let’s see, nearly cussed, sarcastic, hot-headed but soft, adopted a cute alien fire turtle, has an AMAZING BADASS LIZARD girlfriend, some noice character progression, squishy face, hit’s quite a bit on my checklist!
He owns all my uwu’s/10
I’ve noticed that this movie has the turtles and other characters involved behave quite differently, so I’m going to add this one to my list!
Half-Shell Heroes: Blast to the Past Raph
Tumblr media
Guys, this Raph was just so goddamn cute like bro. I feel like despite that this is supposed to be a continuation from 2012, the personalities of the characters have some pretty big changes. Raph, throughout the whole movie, seemed much kinder and seemed more open to his brothers. That pterodactyl scene just HMMMMM GOT ME IN THE FEELS. I think this rating is based mostly on cuteness, because it was a movie it can’t really do too much character development (especially for a silly one like this).
7/10
Next up is the Raph I just watched last night!
2014 Raph
Tumblr media
I actually really enjoyed this movie! While a lot of people didn’t like the designs, I really liked them quite a bit (except for the antagonists). This Raph I think is one of my favorites, with the more ‘done with this bullshit’ attitude, gruff design and woodworking skills. I really liked how well they dealt with his relationship with his family. They showed how much he cared about everyone so much throughout the entire movie. I wrote that note down even before we got to the part with all of them seemed like they were about to die, and it shows that even before that scene, that impression of Raph is left with us. He also was able to form bonds with April very quickly because he knew that this whole thing wasn’t her fault and could see that she would still stand with him to get his brothers back. They handled his character very well and that’s hard to do with a movie. I also like the little toothpick detail and that he was so stubborn with keeping it in his mouth. Overall, a tough boi with a big heart and loves his family a lot.
9/10
Now for the newest Raph and the sweetest Raph to date!
Rise Raph
Tumblr media
I really need to give him more attention! I really can’t give too much analysis because it’s hard for him to steal the scene for me. I only really notice Rah when a scene or episode was directly focused on him. However, when this did happen, they were always fantastic! I really liked the savage and Mrs.Cuddles episodes, which showcased Raph’s weaknesses. He’s big and strong, but I feel like that he just grew up too fast. He has to be careful with his size and strength, which are useful when it comes to protecting his brothers but he knows how much he could hurt them by accident. I really want to see when they’ll expand more on that, perhaps there was an incident involving his brothers in the past? It’s really fun to see how he’s handling the leader role and the dynamics this creates with his brothers. Just a big lovable boi with some trauma.
9/10
Next up is our good ol’ comic book turtle!
IDW Raph
Tumblr media
The idea of him being separated from the rest of the turtles for the first couple of issues was so neat! I think it added to him getting his family bonds and making everyone’s dynamics and interactions with him different compared to the rest of the incarnations of him.  It made for an interesting connection with Casey as well. I’m still quite a ways away from the most recent chapter of this series, but will update this whenever I get to it! A good child that deserved a family and got one!
6.5/10
Storytime: I used to think his Sai’s were those little rake garden tools when I was little and would nab my mum’s to play ninja turtle if I was in a Raph mood.

Lucifer
Tumblr media
What’s up guys? Hello, how are you? Welcome to your favorite podcast?
Today we're going to talk about Lucifer, two weeks ago I started to watch in my free time the TV show Lucifer because a year ago on Facebook I saw the trailer of the fourth season and I really wanted to see it.
I think everyone has heard about the devil and god, good and evil, many people also know the story of Adam and Eve and about the apple, it's general culture to know those stories. I don't identify myself as a religious person, I like to be very open about theories about the origin of time.
Since it's October and sadly I have no ghost stories for you that have happened to me.
Now that I look at that series about how the devil solves crimes which for me is the craziest and most original concept, it's very strange because I never imagined that that series was about crimes, I thought it was going to be like "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" which is more about the problems of witches and not so much about problems in everyday life as a crime.
According to history, it is said that seduced by his own pride, he dragged a great part of the angels that worshipped God, causing a rebellion whose ultimate consequences are the existence of pain, evil, and death in the world, that is why Lucifer is considered since then as the ideologue of evil.
When I hear these stories about the devil, angels, demons, and god I really wish they were true. I'm not sure if there is a god or the devil, heaven or hell, nothing has ever happened to me that makes me believe that it exists, however, I do not rule out the possibility.
Something that I find very controversial is the fact that some people blame everything on God when it's credit like "thank God" I don't give a shit because you can give thanks to a piece of paper if you want, but when it's a guilt I hate it, I hate it when people don't take responsibility for their actions.
i really believe more in the human conspiracy than in god's will, the same with opportunities and success, i believe that everything is built by you and only you, everything good or bad that happens or will happen to you is because of you and it' s one hundred percent your fault.
I believe that the only evil that exists is the human being, the selfishness that was born from an attempt at survival.
and now some strange questions that I asked myself when I was watching the series before saying the questions I want to say that my answers do not mean that they are 100 real
the first is would you date the devil?
My answer is yes why not, I think it would be something different and interesting all the same depending on what is true or not. Because in the series sometimes this character appears as good and other times as bad.
second question
In the series I looked at selling souls and how one woman sold it to become thinner. Would you sell your soul? What would you ask for?
Depending on the matter of the existence of the souls and how my life conditions are and also benefits and disadvantages but I really don't know, I don't know what is my biggest wish, I don't know what I want more in life, I don't consider anything important and at the same time I consider everything important.
Many people ask for money but even if I don't have it doesn't matter because I know that hard work can give me the life that I want a simple and normal life, I don't want to be rich but if I became I wouldn't complain, other people live forever, dude I don't want to live forever and it's not because of watching everyone die and that, the reason is because at some point nothing impresses me and it would end up being a punishment to live forever boring and miserable.
My third question is
If you could choose between being an angel (I open space for specifications, the devil counts as an angel) or being a demon, what would you be?
If demons are like in the Lucifer series I would like to be a demon and punish the bad guys, being an angel would be boring.
Fourth question
If you could choose where you would go to hell or heaven?
I find the glory and eternal joy a bit boring but I find hell interesting, I'd like to know what I'm most afraid of, really if hell exists I don't think I'm going, I don't think I've done anything too bad to deserve eternal condemnation, although there are many things that don't make sense about what's right or wrong, like drinking alcohol which is a sin, not going to church on Sundays and stuff like that. For me the real sins are like killing, maybe manipulating, hurting children, stealing and those things.
I feel like I'm not a bad person but I'm not like super good worthy of heaven either, but I would like to go to hell I don't know why but I don't know if being the person who is being punished, I don't know maybe being an average person can help me choose where I want to be even if it's boring.
I think that the fact of just disappearing is better since eternity is a long time, that's why I like the story of Disney more, you don't last long but you don't last forever either.
But even if I could decide I would like to help bad people make sure they stay in a place like this, that's why I don't feel that hell is so bad, it gives bad people what they deserve and the devil is only the jailer.
But I don't know if it exists or not, it's just a crazy theory.
Watching this really crazy series I contradicted myself many times because if the devil came out of hell why the hell was he helping the police? playing at being a cop, but maybe if you're the devil and you've seen everything you dude why not? it's something different and completely unexpected.
Talking about the production of this series I loved the special effects like the wings, the editing work is amazing, I think it really looks realistic also the fantastic martial arts work, a clean job and this is said by someone who has no previous knowledge of anything and is exactly the audience that wants to catch the show.
But this series is produced by warner bros and the effects are just what you would expect because they produced harry potter, dc comics series, rick, and Morty that means great quality.
I would really like to work with Warner Bros someday but I don't have any skills or talent to work in that company but maybe someday, I don't lose hope, I can do a little something in that company.
I'm not a series person, I don't like long series but I really enjoyed this series absolutely everything because it is something different, besides it made me cry I'm not going to make spoilers but one of the last episodes of the third season I want to say that I cried like a baby and just a good update that makes me believe that it is really happening, a good script and good direction can make me cry and that is something that very rarely happens.
And I'm deeply grateful for that because it's been a long time since I've cried over something silly, it's nice and I'm grateful because we can't all do it.
Also, because the concept that God and the Devil have nothing to do with the decisions we make, I like it very much, just as the real danger is the human being.
Also I stayed in suspense the sixth season of Lucifer comes out in February according to the internet because the first thing I did after seeing this series was to find all the actors in instagram and follow them and also when the sixth season comes out and I have to wait almost 6 months but it's okay I can with this, it's worth it. It tastes better a season like this.
I also really liked the character of Eva because I understood her and the actress is beautiful, unrequited love sucks, especially when it is sincere. But life sucks.
To finish this episode I want to say that I liked the series of Lucifer, I think it's worth watching and I think it's a series to do things and I mean you can do as your task and put it in the background, paint, write, do some crafts, cooking and stuff like that because you don't need to put 100 percent of your attention to it to understand it all the time and I think that's how great you can do two things at once and you're going to enjoy it, each episode has a little teaching, not everything is about one problem because in some series when it's only a problem and that one is solved it gets boring and in this one it doesn't,
Also leaving the series aside I want to say that maybe life is simpler than we would like and more boring but make sure you enjoy it, do good things so you can decide if you want to go to hell or to heaven and I also wonder if there is anyone who does not want to go to heaven and has had the opportunity and has not wanted, because I do not know, I find it interesting, but well I hope you have a beautiful day, warner bros if anyone hears this I want to say that I am 100 percent available and I can leave my life to give my best and work with you. For my part it is all hugs and kisses goodbye.

Returning to the Eds we see that they have been busy with a project.
Tumblr media
Eddy refuses to break tradition, sitting lazily against a rock under a gigantic leaf.
Major props to Edd for making tools out of sticks! He is on a roll today!
I swear I noticed this big leaf before, but it never fully registered to me until now. Where did he get it? They use a few big leaves for their project. I wonder if Eddy did help some. Eddy’s laziness is another reason why the Eds, or Edd and Eddy’s, friendship deteriorated.
His laziness has to be from Bro. I can see Bro sitting back watching and probably laughing at Eddy as he tried to set up his own scams. That could be another reason why Eddy may sit out. He’s afraid his friends will laugh at him. He fears doing something wrong.
Eddy’s first scam was his ‘bottomwess Ed’ scam as shown in Every Which Way But Ed. It actually earned him two quarters. Even though Eddy has won on countless occasions it has never been enough for him. His brother always made him feel like a loser. He doesn’t want money. He wants people to accept and understand his being.
His brother tore apart his soul. Bro made fun of Eddy’s talents and must have told him that he was too soft. Underneath that mask is a struggling human being. Eddy believed he could have friends and get around in the world by acting like Bro, a vicious psychopath. That affected Eddy and how he examines the world. He doesn’t trust anybody due to the life he had with Bro.
Another reason why he is on this journey to find Bro. It’s been years since they last saw one another. Surely, he must have changed in some way. Eddy wants to show his brother how hard he has worked to be just like him.
If Eddy grew up differently, what kind of person would he be?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ed rather roughly grabs Eddy by the ankle to show him he and Edd’s creation.
Due to the amounts of time Eddy has played ‘Uncle’ with Bro I suspect that he has a limp on one leg. It’s the main reason for his ‘Happy Leg’.
I’m glad Edd is concerned instead of waving it off. That was more during season 5 where he’d ignore is friends to show off to the faculty and his parents. Edd will always be concerned for Eddy. He’s changed his life for the better. And soon he will realize that.
Tumblr media
Poor, Eddy. He gets tossed around so much.
Eddy’s canon eye color is blue according to Smile For the Ed. I like how the other is green for a moment. The artists should have colored their eyes more often. Well, maybe not. It may have looked off.
Tumblr media
Ed and Edd have constructed a duck boat. Wow, that’s pretty good. What did they use for the actual boat part? Is it wood? It look like it’s a tad wet.
Peach Creek must be known for having big leaves.
Does everyone remember the bridge from Boo Haw Haw during their meeting with Rolf? What if Ed found it, broke it apart, and brought it back to his friends. They’re close by to the cul-de-sac all alone.
My biggest question; Where and what is the paint made out of?
Edd cutely explains to Eddy that this duck shaped boat mimics the common mallard in order to offer minimal disruption to the local fauna.
Fauna -  All of the animal life of any particular region or time.
Edd admires nature. He studies every part of it closely. He studies how they communicate, how they move, and behave. He holds high respect for wildlife. Maybe Edd can relate himself to nature. Every being and animal has unique way of thinking. Edd wants to understand the way he acts.
I can see Edd studying plants, animals and anything that has to do with nature. He wants to travel the world as he proclaims in Take This Ed and Shove It. He has been sheltered for most of his life. There is a big world out there. Although he scared throughout this journey he learns about his true inner self. Edd learns to open up. Nature brings the feeling of freedom.
Eddy misinterprets ‘fauna’ as ‘sauna’.
Tumblr media
Ed excitedly bursts up making an unwelcome visit in Edd’s hat.
Even Eddy jumps at this.
Tumblr media
“Sauna’s make me sweat. More.” Great callback from earlier.

13 Year Old Me When I First Watched BPS: IS THIS THE MOMENT? DANNY SAID HE WAS GOING TO SHOW US WHAT WAS UNDER EDD’S HAT! THIS IS EXCITING! WE’RE GOING TO FIND OUT AFTER TEN YEARS!
Tumblr media
The hat snaps off Edd making the boy plummet to the ground.
The shot is so quick that we don’t see Edd’s head. His eyes stay in place.
Tumblr media
Eddy looks so concerned for a moment getting his [third or fourth?] view of what Edd is hiding under his hat.
You have to be quick to spot the moment where the real Eddy shines through.
Tumblr media
“MY EYES! THEY’RE BURNING!”
Tumblr media
Edd walks forward only for his head to be censored.
“You stop that!” Edd yells at Eddy courageously walking forward.
Obviously whatever is on Edd’s head is not that eye vomiting as Eddy is smiling.
Eddy is really smiling at the scar, not Edd. He wants to know how he got it. It never registers to him that it has quite a backstory.
Tumblr media
“Does it hurt, Double Dee?”
Tumblr media
Edd refuses to answer anymore questions as he cleans his hat with air freshener. Once again his head is censored.
Does Edd have the same length of hair as Eddy? I cannot imagine Edd without his hat.
Tumblr media
Ed pulls his hand through his jacket to scratch the back of his head.
Whatever is on Edd’s head makes Ed uncomfortable, yet it still intrigues him.
Tumblr media
Edd steps back onto the screen wishing to get back to business.
Ed looks pretty shocked. Probably because this is the longest amount of time Edd has walked around being hatless. He was annoyed but it wasn’t like the other times where he’d pull it on in a second or pull out any object to cover his head.
Danny Antonucci told fans in a video that they were going to show what was under Edd’s hat. That was not this scene. It was to be a scene much later on when the Eds were resting in that spot they stopped in for the night.
Fans have been riled up ever since. I was disappointed as well.
Then again, maybe it’s best that Danny never revealed what was under Edd’s hat. It’s just like the scam at the beginning of the movie. It’s not important. And it would have taken away from people’s imaginations.
Instead Danny revealed Eddy’s Brother. His impact in the last five minutes of the movie created quite a buzz around the fan base. His appearance turned around the whole series.
There are countless theories and seeing the actual secret would have ruined the series.
It’s practically canon through a deleted scene that Edd has a scar on his head from a dodgeball incident.
Other theories have included Edd is hiding brown hair, he is bald, he has a large bump, or has imprints from many band aids which were used as punishment from his parents. Remember that from My Fair Ed?
The confession scene would have revealed a lot about the Eds inner turmoils. They would have connected more as friends understanding who they are.
Eddy would have finally understood Edd realizing they had more in common then they thought. They each have a scar. Eddy more mentally as Bro scarred Eddy’s being.
Danny still has many fans angry with him. Still, he gets to sit back and read all the fan theories about his show. That’s what creators live for. They want to see how fans react to their work. We have all been having countless discussion on the characters and the world of eene.
I’m more happy making up fanfiction about what could be under Edd’s hat then having it revealed. It’s hard for me to admit that seeing how I would have loved to see that confession scene. You can’t get everything you want.
That’s why fandoms, fanfiction and fanart exist. We can add on.

Jughead Jones (Riverdale): INTP
Tumblr media
Dominant Introverted Thinking [Ti]: Jughead questions everything. He uses his internal logical framework to decide what makes sense and what doesn't, relying more on himself than facts. Jughead is detached and sarcastic, which can sometimes lead him to make inappropriate jokes that others admonish him for ("Do you think I can use Jason Blossom's death as an excuse to get out of PE?") When Archie reproachfully tells him not to joke about Jason's death, Jughead even states that "sardonic humor is my way of relating to the world." Jughead doesn't just go with whichever explanation is the most probable. He considers things from every angle and entertains every possibility that crosses his mind. Sure, Betty's theory that Jason was running away from his parents is more likely, but what if he was actually on the run from drug dealers? He doesn't just want to solve Jason Blossom's murder. He wants to understand it and analyze it. What are the implications? How does it effect the town as a whole? He wants to know all of the hows and the whys. Jughead is good at accurately assessing situations. He thinks practically and can usually come up with the best way to get answers (finding information from Jason's room and the Blossom house). Jughead's habit of constantly asking questions makes him a pretty decent amateur detective. He wonders about what connection Archie might have to Jason Blossom's murder after remembering that he canceled their road trip over Fourth of July weekend. Jughead doesn't use his emotions to make decisions - he wants to remain impartial, objective, and does whatever makes sense to him.
Tumblr media
Auxiliary Extroverted Intuition [Ne]: It’s easy for Jughead to make connections and see possibilities. He’s comfortable coming up with theories – especially when it comes to the murder of Jason Blossom. Jughead has great intuition. He noticed the way one of the Grizzly Scouts looked at him, so he tracked him down and told him that he could tell that the boy was hiding something and got him to confess what he knew. After the drive-in is destroyed, Jughead tells his father that maybe they’ll save all of the pieces and rebuild it in a century and wonder about the people who once lived there. Jughead tries to get Archie to think of the future after finding out about his affair with Miss Grundy. Where do you see this going? What do you want in the long-term? Jughead is witty and a talented writer. He’s able to see things for more than they appear to be and uses his powers of keen observation, deductive reasoning, and his talent for piecing together bits of information to construct a larger picture to investigate and report on the murder of Jason Blossom.
Tumblr media
Tertiary Introverted Sensing [Si]: Even though Jughead doesn't enjoy participating in Riverdale's various traditions, he has a certain fondness for his own, personal rituals and likes things that are familiar to him, such as the hat he wears every day. Jughead looks forward to going to a double feature each year on his birthday, which he prefers to keep low-key because he hates his birthday. When Archie and FP caution Betty against throwing Jughead a party, she ignores them both and throws him a party that dozens of kids show up to, leaving Jughead extremely uncomfortable. He would've preferred if the three of them had just gone to Pop's for some burgers and milkshakes, even though that's what they always do. When the Twilight Drive-In is destroyed, Jughead tries to appeal to Mayor McCoy, telling her about how his parents would sneak him and his sister in when they were little because they couldn't afford tickets for all four of them. Although he wants to save it because he's been living there, he also has a lot of sentimental feelings for it and doesn't want to see it demolished because of all of the memories he's made there over the years. Jughead often reminisces about happier times and the way things used to be. He tries to get Archie to do the right thing by reminding him of the person he once was.
Tumblr media
Inferior Extroverted Feeling [Fe]: Expressing his feelings doesn’t come naturally for Jughead. He has a hard time saying and doing the “right” thing. Jughead uses humor as a defense mechanism because he doesn’t know how to properly relate to the people around him, and because he doesn’t like to let himself be vulnerable. Jughead wants to be able to be there for his friends and girlfriend in their times of need, but he struggles to find the best way to help or support them. He can be capable of it, though. When Betty breaks down about her family falling apart, he tells her that she’s holding it together. She’s their rock. Jughead resides in moral gray areas – he’s comfortable there and bases his judgments on what is best for everyone If he tells Archie about Betty’s sleuthing, he betrays Betty. If he tells Betty about Archie’s affair with Grundy, he betrays Archie. So he just won’t say anything to anyone. He prefers to stay out of other people’s affairs and keeps his social circle small. Jughead claims he doesn’t care what people think or say, but he struggles with feeling like he doesn’t “belong” with his friends at Riverdale High. He doesn’t want to blindly follow the crowd, but he evidently struggles with this, as indicated by his argument with Betty at his birthday party, where all of his pent up feelings of alienation come to the surface. He can become insecure and lash out under stress, telling Betty that they’re on borrowed time, and will only last until she gets “sick of slumming it” with him or Archie decides he’s interested in her and she goes running to be with him. He enjoys his independence and autonomy, and doesn’t want to be like all the other sheep, but simultaneously struggles with it. Jughead doesn’t have a full grasp on morality, but he wants to. His novel is bigger than just the murder of Jason Blossom – he needs to know if Riverdale is a good place or a dark, evil place. Jughead tries to convince Archie to go to the police about hearing the gunshot (“A kid is dead, Archie! And you’re worried about some… Some cougar?”)
Note: Even though he's a relatively new character, I've already seen many debates regarding Jughead's type. I see him equally typed INTP and INFP. I completely get why people see him as an INFP, but I see a stronger case for Ti than Fi and I don't see any inferior Te in him (or any Te at all, for that matter). If you concentrate on his inferior function, I think Fe definitely stands out. He's textbook inferior Fe. The deciding factor for me was the fight he had with Betty after she threw him his surprise party. He does pose a lot of moral questions, and he is interested in exploring those themes in his book, but he seems to approach it from more of an intellectual perspective than an emotional once. Even though he's curious, he maintains a certain level of detachment through it all. He's an INTP, he's just not a "typical" INTP.

Quotes:
Jughead: By morning, everyone would be talking, texting, and posting about it. We’d all be feeling it. That the world around us had changed, maybe forever. That Riverdale wasn’t the same town as before. That it was a town of shadows and secrets now.
Jughead: Do you think I can use Jason Blossom’s death as an excuse to get out of PE? “Sorry, Coach, I’m just too depressed and freaked-out right now to do pull-ups. Archie: Don’t joke about Jason Blossom. Jughead: What? Sardonic humor is just my way of relating to the world.
Jughead: Archie. Weirdest thing. This summer, we were supposed to go on a road trip over July 4th weekend… Which you bailed on at the last minute. Is there something you wanna tell me, pal?
Archie: Jug. What’s up? Jughead: What’s up is I saw you, Archie. In the music room. With Ms. Grundy. Archie: Keep your voice down, my dad’s inside. Jughead: I’m trying to help you, dude. I’m trying to be your friend here. Even though we’re not anymore. How long? You and Grundy? Archie: Since the summer. I like her. Jughead: So I’m guessing she’s the reason you’ve been acting weird since summer? Archie: One of them. Jughead: One of them? There’s more? Archie: We were at Sweetwater River on July 4th. We heard a gunshot. The gunshot. Jughead: Dude, you have to tell somebody. Archie: I can’t. Neither can you. If people find out about Grundy- Jughead: A kid is dead, Archie! And you’re worried about some… Some cougar? Archie: Don’t call her that. Okay, she’s not like that, she cares about me. Jughead: Stab in the dark. I’m guessing she cares more about herself. She’s the one who’s telling you not to say anything, right? Look, I saw you guys. She’s messing with you, man. And she’s messing with your mind. Archie: What the hell do you know about it, Jughead? Or about me, even? Jughead: Nothing. But I used to know this guy once. Archie Andrews. He wasn’t perfect but… He always tried to do the right thing, at least.
Jughead: We’re not gonna hug in front of this whole town. So why don’t we both just do that bro thing where we nod like douches and mutually suppress our emotions? Archie: Yeah, but as friends, right? Jughead: To be discussed, over many burgers, and many days.
Jughead: To someone on the outside, peering in, it would’ve looked like there were four people in that booth. But I was there, and I can tell you. Really, there were only three. A blonde girl, a raven-haired girl, and the luckiest red-headed boy in the universe. For one shining moment, we were just kids. Those bright neon lights of Pop’s keeping the darkness at bay. Giving way, as all nights must, to a morning of reckonings.
Jughead: Cheryl and Archie both say they heard a gunshot the morning of July 4th, but they don’t know who fired. Dilton Doiley: Sherriff Keller already asked me about this. And like I told him, my Scouts and I, we didn’t hear anything weird. Jughead: Well, did you see anything weird? Dilton Doiley: A white-winged crossbill. A long-eared owl. Oh. And Cheryl, sitting by the river, soaking wet.
Grizzly Scout: What the hell, man? Jughead: I saw the way you looked at me. During Grizzly training. You’re hiding something. Grizzly Scout: It’s Scoutmaster Doily. He’s lying. Jughead: About what? Grizzly Scout: The gunshot. It was him. He was teaching us how to shoot targets. Jughead: Dilton Doiley shot the gun on July 4th? Grizzly Scout: He’s a hardcore survivalist. He says if we don’t protect ourselves, no one will.
Jughead: Look, I am, by nature, a conscientious objector. Not saying anything to either you or Betty, was the most moral, apathetic choice I could make. Archie: But, Jug. She’s not going to write about me and Grundy in the paper, is she? Like she did with Chuck? Jughead: Dude, seriously? Okay. Come on. Think about what you’re asking. If there was even an iota of a chance that something could hurt you in any way, Betty wouldn’t do it. Probably. Archie: Oh, my God. Jughead: I’m kidding. But maybe she has a point. What do you see happening with Grundy, long-term? What do you want? Archie: I want to be with her. I don’t know how, but I wanna hang on to what we have for as long as possible. Jughead: Yup. I feel that. Trying to hold on to something a lot older than me, too. Archie: Just… If Betty’s gonna do anything crazy, can you please let me know so I can do something to stop it?
Mayor McCoy: I’m sorry, but the Twilight Drive-In? It’s a blight that’s become a cesspool, and a hangout for criminals and transients, and the deal’s done. Andrews Construction is scheduled to demolish the lot on Monday. Jughead: Mayor McCoy, when I was a kid, my family and I would go to the drive-in all the time. We couldn’t afford tickets for everyone, so my sister Jellybean and I would hide in the trunk until we parked. We’d sneak out. It’s like my home. Mayor McCoy: That’s a very sweet sentiment, Mr. Jones. But the future of Riverdale is at stake.
FP: They’ll tear that booth down, too. Raze the whole place. Send it to the junkyard. And us with it. Jughead: Yeah… Maybe they’ll save it. All the pieces. Store it in the town hall attic, and rebuild it in a hundred years. Wonder who the hell we were. FP: Hmm. So where are you gonna live now? Jughead: I’ll figure it out, Dad. I always do.
Jughead: Why does a rich kid sell drugs? Betty: He was running away from his parents. Jughead: Yeah. Probably. Or drug dealers. Betty: Oh, my God. Is that possible? Jughead: It’s a theory. Yours is more likely. But why would he have to run away from mommy and daddy? Betty: Because they’re monsters. Jughead: Yeah, but why, specifically. Betty: Well, we can’t exactly just ask them. Jughead: So we have to ask Jason. Betty: Are you proposing a seance or- Jughead: No. Dead men tell no tales. But their bedrooms, their houses…
Jughead: I didn’t do it, Betty, you have to believe me. Betty: Of course, I was with you, and I know who you are. Jughead: Those Paradise Lost kids went to death row because they wore black and they listened to Metallica. I don’t wanna become a scapegoat.
Betty: You’re not actually upset that I threw you a party, are you? Jughead: It is nice, Betty. I appreciate it. It’s just I would be happier if it was just the four of us in a booth at Pop’s. Betty: Yeah. But we always do that. I wanted to do something special. Jughead: “The road to hell is paved with good intentions.” Betty: Why is everything so doom and gloom with you, Jug? Why can’t it just be normal for once? Jughead: I’m not normal, I’m not wired to be normal.
Jughead: You do know my dad has a drinking problem, right? Betty: Of course I do. I didn’t think people would be drinking tonight. I didn’t plan on Chuck and Cheryl, and the rest of the school crashing, okay? This was supposed to be just your friends. Jughead: You and Archie are my friends, okay? Everyone else, including Kevin, including Veronica, are people that, two months ago, I would’ve actively shunned. Betty: Why? Jughead: In case you haven’t noticed, I’m weird. I’m a weirdo. I don’t fit in, and I don’t want to fit in. Have you ever seen me without this stupid hat on? That’s weird. Betty: Why are you getting so upset? It’s just a party, Jug. Jughead: It’s not just a party. It’s the fact that you don’t know or even care that this is the last thing I would want. You did this for you. To prove something. Betty: To prove what? Jughead: You’re a great girlfriend. I don’t know. Doesn’t it ever occur to you just how different we are? Like on a cellular DNA kind of level? You’re a straight-A student. You’re a cheerleader, for God’s sakes. You’re the perfect girl next door. Betty: I hate that word. Jughead: I’m the damaged loner outsider from the wrong side of the tracks. Betty, come on. Who are we kidding? We’re on borrowed time. Betty: What the hell is that supposed to mean? Archie: Betty, I’m not one of your projects, okay? Like solving Jason’s murder- Betty: No. You’re not a project, you’re my boyfriend. Jughead: Until you’re sick of slumming it with me, or until Archie changes his mind and says he wants to be with you?
Jughead: Weekdays, from 8:25 a.m. to 3:01 p.m., we adhere to a strict regimen. Everything in our lives controlled. But then something like the murder of Jason Blossom happens, and you realize there is no such thing as control. There is only chaos. Nevertheless, some of us strive to impose and maintain order in what is, fundamentally, an orderless world. A fact which would very soon be confirmed in ways none of us could have foreseen.
Fred: Sorry to be missing your birthday this weekend, Jug. Jughead: Oh, you will not be missing anything, Mr. Andrews, I barely acknowledge my own birthday.
Betty: And all this time, I thought you were a lover, not a fighter. Jughead: I’m both. I’ve got layers. You were doing something nice, it’s just that sometimes, when people do nice things for me, I short circuit. Maybe I’m not used to it. Maybe I’m scared… Of getting hurt. Or being rejected for being myself.
Jughead: People like to say that the death of Jason Blossom changed everything at Riverdale High. But certain things, certain traditions never change. Take Homecoming, for instance. Though Jason’s jersey had been retired, the Riverdale Bulldogs would still be playing their arch-rivals, the Baxter High Ravens, with the River Vixens cheering them on. As in previous years, graduates from days of Riverdale Past will come to town to relive their more youthful, more carefree days. Or to make up for lost time.
Archie: Betty, about the Homecoming Dance, can I play a couple songs? I kind of told my mom that- Whoa, you don’t want me to? Betty: No, no it’s not that, Archie, it’s just, um This dance needs to be fun. And your songs, as amazing as they are- Jughead: They make you wanna slit your wrists… In a good way. Veronica: In an amazing way.
Jughead: I’m a little terrified about the social experiment of it all, but I think it’s good for our families to get to know each other. I think it’s important for us. Jughead: So the worm turns. Mary and Fred. A possible rekindling? Archie: That would’ve been a Li’l Archie’s pipe dream. Jughead: Stranger things have happened, man. Like for instance, my dad shaved. Which is the equivalent of tectonic plates shifting. I was thinking, maybe it’s time I go back and live with him again. Archie: Based on the fact that he shaved? Jughead: Well, he also hasn’t missed a day of work, and he quit drinking. Archie: That’s – That’s great, Jughead. But maybe you should wait a little bit longer just to make sure it sticks. Archie: No, dude, I’m telling you, something has shifted. I mean, he even asked to read my work. The essays, the articles I wrote about Jason. Archie: Your dad did? Jughead: Yeah. And he read them. Even more surprisingly, he engaged with them. He asked me questions about them. Archie: What kind of questions? Jughead: Like who I thought did it. Your dad asked you who you thought killed Jason Blossom? Jughead: You repeating everything I’m saying is getting really annoying. Archie: Crap l forgot. My mom likes almond milk in her coffee, and we don’t have any, so I’m gonna go get some. Jughead: Well, you are a terrible liar, Archie. Off to a late-night rendezvous with a certain raven-haired princess? Relax, man, I’m just giving you a hard time.
Jughead: How did you – When did you guys know to go to my dad’s trailer? Veronica: We knew he’d be at dinner with- Jughead: That’s why your mom invited my dad and I to dinner? So these two could break into my his trailer while she interrogated him? Betty: No, I didn’t know what they were doing. But yes, that is why she invited you guys. Jughead: To think I was gonna pass on moving to Toledo with my family for you. Betty: What? Jughead: When we went to my dad’s trailer, you asked me if I believed him. I said I did. Wasn’t that good enough for you? Betty: It was. It was good enough. I didn’t – I tried to stop her. Jughead: You could’ve told me, you could’ve warned me about this. Betty: You were so excited, Jug, I didn’t want to disappoint you. Jughead: So instead you lied? You all lied to me?
Jughead: As long as you’re with me, you’re writing articles about me and my dad, trouble’s just gonna keep coming at you from all sides. Betty: It was just one jerk. Jughead: It’s not just one jerk. It’s Mayor McCoy. It’s Sheriff Keller. It’s Weatherbee, it’s Social Services, it’s the entire multiverse telling me that I don’t belong here, so why don’t I just do everyone a favor- Betty: Hey, hey. You belong here just as much as everyone else. This is your home. You know that, right? Jughead: Yeah.
Betty: Wow, it looks great in here. Jughead: I cleaned it up after Sheriff Keller thrashed it. Just in case my dad- Betty: Until he gets out, I’m not giving up on him, Jug. Jughead: Hell no. That is why I love you, Betty. I love you, Betty Cooper. Betty: Jughead Jones. I love you.
FP: Why Jason Blossom, huh? Out of all the things you could write about, why pick a dead kid? I don’t know. Jughead: It was sort like he picked me. Tell the story that no one was gonna tell. Or even know how to tell. From the outside, looking in. FP: Who do you think killed him? I mean, you and Betty are in this deep. You gotta have an opinion. Jughead: To me, I don’t think the question is, “Whodunnit?” I think the real question is whether Riverdale is a place of good or a place of darkness and evil. FP: Or both. Most things are both.

thewivesofriversong replied to your post: “Diana was a clay statue brought to life and her...
first of all: yes. second of all: I don’t suppose you’d be inclined to do like a hate-summary of New 52 WW? xD bc I gave up on it almost immediately but I’m reading Rebirth WW now and it would be nice to have a better understanding everything Rebirth is now deconstructing haha
SURE, I’ll take a crack at it, although I only got up to about halfway through the run so far, I had to take a break so I could scream about how frustrating it was
the premise of the first arc is that a human girl, Zola, was impregnated by Zeus and now Hera wants revenge on her but Wonder Woman is going to protect her. which is actually a premise that I think is pretty cool and I am on board for in theory but it becomes super weird.
Hermes leads Zola to Diana, and Diana takes her to Themyscira to shelter her. but, Strife (Eris, is the goddess they’re portraying here, but for some reason she’s referred to only as “Strife”?) shows up on the island and starts sowing discord. The Amazons turn on Zola once they find out she’s pregnant with a demigod, and Hera shows up to curse them all. Diana’s like “I was made from clay tho??” and Hera flips out and makes Hippolyta confess to Diana that she’s actually the child of Zeus and all that nonsense. Then, Hera in her anger turns Hippolyta into a clay statue (because irony) and turns all the other Amazons into snakes (!!)
Diana is weirdly less upset than she should be about the fact that her entire people were turned into snakes and her mom was statue-fied but whatever. Also she’s like “I’m shocked but I’m glad that it turns out my mother, whom I thought was never my REAL mother, is related to me by blood after all!” bc fuck adoptive parents amirite
Diana, Hermes, and Zola go off on a sort of world road trip trying to collect other demigod children of Zeus because there’s a prophecy about a child of Zeus taking over his throne and ... Zeus has disappeared, leaving the throne empty and the other gods squabbling over it. So all the gods are also trying to get their hands on Zola so they can steal the baby. It basically turns into a tour of this particular writer+artist’s edgy reinterpretation of the Greek gods where Diana goes around and either fights or talks to all of them.
when she meets Hephaestus is where he tells her the thing about the Amazons selling their male children into slavery, because all of them now work for him in his forges, and Diana tries to be like “then you men are all Amazons, too! that makes you my brothers! will you help me?” and they’re like “no, fuck that, Amazons got rid of us and we’re staying with Hephaestus” which... I can’t blame them but it still seemed really sad and cynical
At one point, Zola gets kidnapped by Hades and sucked down into the Underworld, so Diana goes after her. For.... reasons, this ends with Hades trying to force Diana to MARRY HIM so Diana fakes being in love with Hades and he dresses her up in a super gothy high fashion wedding dress and is like “I’ll only marry you if you are truly in love with me” and ties her lasso of truth around her neck like a noose and she admits it was all just a ploy and then rides a horse out of the Underworld on a river of blood. this is an EXTREMELY WEIRD COMIC BOOK, Y’ALL.
After Zola’s baby is born, it is immediately kidnapped by Hermes, who runs away with it, and “protect the pregnant lady by going to different places and meeting weird god characters” turns into “hunt for the baby by going to different places and meeting weird god characters” basically?
There’s a #0 issue where it turns out that Diana was secretly trained to fight by Ares when she was teenager, even though he’s historically one of her enemies and represents the evils of war that she opposes, because why should any of Diana’s talents come from the Amazons, instead of being the best example of her people’s warrior spirit she has to have been trained by the male god of war, fuck this comic
In issue #13, Orion (as in from the New Gods) shows up, which is the literal first time anything from the larger DCU has appeared in the series and I was like “okay, so we’re getting some stuff that has to do with Fourth World or Apokolips or not just Olympian gods, right?” but he just sort of... joins Diana’s party of people (also he hits on her a bunch? I don’t know much about the New Gods but has Orion historically acted like a frat bro???) and the book keeps doing the same shit
Turns out the prophecy is actually about the First-Born, who is a giant super powerful dude that was apparently the child of Zeus and Hera but was imprisoned in ice for thousands of years and just broke out and now he wants to claim his throne. Diana’s about to fight him and that’s where I stopped.
So, I’m on issue #21, almost halfway through the entire new 52 run, and so far Wonder Woman has not: fought any actual supervillains, met any other superheroes, or interacted with any normal civilian people other than Zola. like, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with doing weird offbeat stuff in comics but ... Diana is not a superhero in this book? She’s a demigod exclusively doing stuff with other demigods and actual gods. Like, maybe we could have a story where Wonder Woman stops some crime or saves some people, I feel like that would be a reasonable thing to expect out of Wonder Woman’s ongoing solo series in a reboot that was designed to bring new readers on board with DC comics?? NOPE JUST GOD STUFF
and I love Greek mythology stuff in general, I am literally so on board for it, but the part that makes it work in the other Wonder Woman mythology-heavy stories I’ve read is that it’s still intertwined with the real world. This is just.... like I said, it feels like the writer liked American Gods a lot, and went “here’s a bunch of WEIRD EDGY DARK reinterpretations of Greek gods and also a new backstory for Wonder Woman that gets rid of almost everything good about her backstory”
honestly, all I can say about it in the positive camp is that the art is really pretty and Diana has some nice character moments every few issues or so.
I’m probably going to finish it tomorrow I’ll let you know what I think of the rest and maybe Diana will actually do some superhero stuff at some point

Tenet Delay Imminent as Coronavirus Spreads, Analyst Predicts
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
Like a magician’s best illusion, the hopes predicated on Christopher Nolan’s Tenet resuscitating the moviegoing experience are vanishing all around us. And adding suspense to this grim trick is a new report from Eric Handler, a leading exhibition industry analyst with MKM Partners. According to Handler, there is a “low likelihood” that Tenet keeps its scheduled Aug. 12 release date, particularly in the wake of rising rates of infection in states across the U.S., including Florida, Texas, California, and Arizona.
“The near-term outlook for exhibition related stocks remains extremely clouded,” Handler wrote. “It would be surprising to see theaters able to re-open nationwide before September, at the earliest.”
While this is no official confirmation from Warner Bros., it is grim news for the studio and Nolan, the latter of whom has been vocally eager to get Tenet into theaters this summer on the theory it could help rejuvenate worldwide moviegoing—or at the very least offer a temporary respite from the existential bleeding the theatrical exhibition market is undergoing in the coronavirus pandemic. Indeed, Nolan reportedly does not want the film to move from its Aug. 12 release date, just as he previously is alleged to have lobbied WB to keep the film in its original July 2020 window.
While an official decision is forthcoming, the current news regarding the coronavirus pandemic is anything but hopeful for either movie theaters or the people who might return to them. On Sunday alone, Florida passed a tragic milestone of the most COVID-19 tests recorded by a U.S. state in a single day: 15,300. According to CNN, if Florida were a country, it’d be the fourth highest in the world for reporting new cases of COVID-19.
Florida is also one of many states in the American South and southwest that eagerly pursued early reopenings last May—against the advice of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other medical experts, but to the cheers of a reelection-focused White House—and are now seeing disastrous growth in COVID-19 infections. Florida alone has seven hospitals with ICU beds at capacity, and several areas are near running out in Texas as well.
Meanwhile the previous biggest hot spot in the world, New York City, remains relatively closed, including among movie theaters, even as it set a much more hopeful milestone this weekend by marking its first weekend without a single death due to COVID-19 complications. However, the city and state government are reluctant to reopen movie theaters. In fact, Mayor Bill de Blasio warned that while the death rate and new infections are down overall, there has been a rise in the infection rate among 20 to 29-year-olds, suggesting that as the city has begun its own slowly phased reopenings of bars and restaurants, it’s seeing similar trends as the rest of the U.S.
Hence Handler suggesting the state’s “slowed re-opening of the New York City economy” as a primary reason for Tenet being delayed from July 17 to July 31 and now Aug. 12, which he views as another missed target.
Handler similarly predicts global box office will be down 70 percent in 2020 when compared to 2019. However, he did offer a small sliver of light in his analysis, suggesting that there will be a high demand for, if gradual return to, movie theaters in 2021—presumably assuming a vaccine is discovered and made readily available.
“Beyond this year, we do believe there is pent up demand for consumers to get out of their houses for entertainment although the ramp up in attendance will likely be gradual.” According to the analyst, 2021 will still be soft (but far better) than 2020, with 2022 seeing movie theater attendance “back to normal.”
That might be great news for 2022, but in the immediate future it leaves Tenet in a difficult spot.

CONGRESS APPROVES OF THE ‘RIGHTS OF ANIMALS ACT’
**The following article is fictional**

_________________________________________
The ‘Rights of Animals Act’ (Pub. L. 146-223; 18 U.S.C & Ch. 7) was passed by the senate today with 67 in favour, 32 against and 1 abstention in the form of independent senator Elsie Wynn of Tennessee.  President Grassi welcomed the decision describing it as a ‘reflection of America’s willingness to lead on relevant issues despite the rhetoric of today’s world’. The United States has become only the fourth nation to implement legal rights for non-human species following the introduction of such legislation in Switzerland, Catalonia and initially in Iceland who controversially banned its reasonably popular localized fishing tradition with a sweeping ban on all forms of animal exploitation in March 2074.
Today’s act bans small-scale fishing, the usage of animals for sport including horse racing and the act even outlaws dog shows. However if you have a cuddly friend at home as your household pet you need not worry of the national guard knocking down your door any time soon. The ARA as many activists in the animal rights community have referred to this act does not abolish pet ownership (although technically we should now say ‘pet stewardship’) since it is treated in a similar light to adopting a child whereby it is acceptable for an adult to have power over their child and yet that is of course not seen as slavery or exploitation. Although don’t try make money off of your pet or else you could, at least in theory find yourself in trouble with the law. All the while with the capacity of modern CGI, the film industry is largely speaking not fazed by this new era.

Filmmaker Leon Gray who produced the academy award-winning film Blue Race, the poignant true story of a Bangladeshi family caught in the devastating floods of 2048 was asked by one of our reporters Lana Cooper on Wednesday regarding his thoughts on the prospect of this act. Gray asserted that he’s not concerned. 'Nah, it doesn’t worry me. Barely any filmmakers use actual animals in films anymore. I don’t think it’s a big loss, you know?’ Despite Gray’s coolness, Director Josh Berger attacked him last night with his snappy RawU post 'Gray bro, I love you!! No really I do but come on?! CGI will never replace the real thing. There’s something special about having an actual real life animal on the screen. People aren’t stupid. No matter how real CGI looks, people can tell the difference. These animal rights people will never be happy. Should we ban child actors now too??’. Gray wasn’t the only one displeased with the introduction of the act. Former President Rain Gordon and current editor at the libertarian news outlet 'Free Fifty’ wrote quite a lengthy article two nights ago bemoaning the 'likely passage of this unnecessary act’. Gordon wasn’t necessarily suggesting that sports like horse racing should not face the axe eventually but he did believe giving actual rights to non-humans was too sudden of a move and that 'the government (was) in the business of getting things out of the way for the purpose of political efficiency at the expense of the ordinary citizen’.
This was the second attempt by Senator Daniel Campbell (D) of California to introduce this groundbreaking animal legislation. Campbell first introduced a similar bill known as the 'Non-human legal status bill’ in November 2075. The bill failed in the Lib-Rep majority congress. A handful of Lib-Reps did approve of the bill in the house but this was more than counterbalanced by the 11 democrats and 2 independents who either voted against or abstained from voting on the motion. The bill thus failed with 167 approving, 20 abstentions and a substantial disapproval with 248 against (or about 57% of the house). However, for the approval of this second bill it was time and a political shift that’s seemed to have counted the most. The changes in the new bill itself were slight and most importantly in its title than anything. This time the bill passed a democrat majority house, while more than 1 in 3 Lib Reps and 2 of the 3 right-wing independents also approved of the motion; 298 in favour, 4 abstentions and 133 against. That means the bill passed with a confident 68% house approval. Similarly 67 of the 100 senators of congress also approved so it may be of some comfort to animal rights activists to know that even if this bill required super-majorities it would have passed.

The days of the harsher forms of animal exploitation which many consider to have been atrocities such as livestock farming, fur farming and animal experimentation now seem long gone. For those of us who were around from the peak of the conventional meat industry in the earlier part of the 21st century and its inevitable fall to cultured meat and with the outlawing of factory farming, this act seems like merely the conclusion of a quieter after-argument, the mere aftershock of a magnitude eight earthquake. The legislation will fully come in to effect over a two year period, specifically to give time for organizations and companies based in activities outlawed as a result to phase themselves out. The government also guarantees compensation, which is to be attributed to individuals and companies affected proportionate to their operating income with the possibility of a case by case evaluation from their district court although a judge must first approve of a full court hearing which will be determined on the basis of whether the claims of the individual or individuals concerned appears to substantiate a reasonable case for a higher amount of compensation than is being initially offered by the government to said party. It would seem a day of glory for the animal rights movement both in the United States and across the world and while many activists are indeed celebrating (both online and offline), many remain humble and focused on yes, even more change. So perhaps the answer to Josh Berger’s question is never?
Head of the 'American Anti-Speciesist Society’ Owen Cole told us over a skype call from his Seattle flat that 'While obviously now we have achieved the rights of non-human animals in law and that is a success that really can’t be understated, we as activists have a duty to ensure that not only is this legislation properly enforced but that the punishment fits the crime, that is of course across the board for animal abuse, cruelty and exploitation. If a person tortures a cat, we want to make sure that person faces a substantial prison sentence and not just a slap on the wrist…. And sometimes they do but sometimes they don’t. The sort of sentences that animal abusers get in the United States varies greatly, right? And personally I think it’s more so than in any other area of criminality. Like, you know one person abuses an animal and they might get say six years,  then another person in some other part of the country does pretty much the same thing and they might only get a small fine. That’s the sort of thing we need to focus on here’.
Cole and others are also concerned with global efforts to end animal exploitation. Many of them will also turn much of their attention to the introduction of similar legislation across the world and also to at the very least outlaw practices such as fur farming and animal circuses which are still allowed in some countries despite the majority of nations banning such practices in the first half of the century. Another emerging debate in the animal rights movement or 'anti-speciesist movement’ as Cole insisted we should label it and that is the question of wild animal suffering and whether humans should intervene. It’s proving a hot topic in the community and with/among environmentalists with no clear opinion seeming to hold a strong majority in either case. Of course the technology for such hypothetical interventions does not seem to be here yet, at least not on the scale that some proponents have discussed in the articles I’ve read and the videos I’ve watched on this subject. Perhaps with the end of one era of animal rights, we are now entering a whole new one and we’ll be discussing 'The Wild Animal Intervention Act’ in 2139. Only time will tell.

Edd and May decide to share a kiss.
Okay, just going to get this out there, I love the design of both their lips.
This is the most precious moment ever. Edd was willing to kiss someone.
Edd doesn’t know too much about romance.
There is a theory that’s gone around believing that Edd’s parents are in a loveless relationship. They sleep in two separate beds and Edd states there is no kissing allowed in his parents bedroom. This could mean anything, but his parents hardly spend any time together or with Edd.
Whether or not Edd remembers what happened while under the love curse he learned to love. It is real. Anybody can love. His parents negatively affected his mind. His parents won’t let the dodge ball incident and shun him. Edd does not deserve this. And then his parents continued to lock him up from the outside world until fourth grade. I have always theorized that Edd finally went back to public school in fourth grade because Eddy specifies that Edd has been trying to make a safety club for two years.
Edd fell behind on his social skills along with becoming friends earlier with Ed and Eddy. Fans always believe that they’ve been close friends ever since they met as little kids, but look at their interactions in season 1. I know it’s the first season and they’re setting up the character dynamics, but the Ed’s act as if they hardly know Edd. Edd is finally letting people into his life. His interactions with the world improve his social skills.
I went off track, but Edd has changed. He learned for himself by interacting with the world what it is truly about. Friendships are the most important element of life. Don’t be afraid to live your life how you want to live it.
Tumblr media
“You make Rolf sick!”
Tumblr media
And Edd and May are doused in the filthy water.
Did anyone else notice that Edd and May were seconds away from kissing? My answer is yes because it’s implied that many rumors are flying about all around the school.
Tumblr media
Edd freaks out realizing his fingers are intertwined with May’s.
May doesn’t look so surprised. Rather, she looks hurt.
The big question: Does anybody remember events that happen under the love curse?
Watch May’s facial and body language throughout the rest of this scene. She doesn’t say anything. I notice she is silent in uncomfortable situations. During Bro’s scene in Big Picture Show she never says a word. She’s the only character not to utter a word in all the panic.
Tumblr media
Now Edd either makes an embarrassed face or ‘I can’t believe I have to do this’ face.
Edd wasn’t in control all day. He spent the whole day interacting with May finding out she’s more then who he thought. Edd glances over people’s feelings hardly ever giving them a second chance. He labels people. I guess figuratively, considering he literally labels everything in his room. For example, Edd knows Eddy is hiding a different side to himself. He gives up in Big Picture Show believe all Eddy is is a selfish person who never cares about anyone’s needs.
Edd learns that you can’t judge a book by its cover probably a dozen times throughout the series.
Fans have also speculated this tropes with the Kanker’s. Each girl is hiding under a mask due to their insecurities. They’re three misunderstood girls who come from a difficult life. They have the wrong view on love. The girls finally back off from attacking the Ed’s after a male figure stands up to them.
Tumblr media
With this ‘I’m really sorry’ look Edd excuses himself saying he thinks he belongs [with Ed and Eddy]
Tumblr media
I cannot get over how upset May looks.
All this time she may have thought that Edd really did like her. The Kanker’s have been scouting out for what love means.
May is always pushed around by her sisters. She is insecure about herself believe she can’t do anything. That’s why she was upset at the beginning of the episode.
I wish this episode could have ended with the Kanker’s and not just the Ed’s. May’s story is left open ended. Viewers don’t get her point of view on what happened.
Edd and May never interact again after this. There could have been some continuity where Edd and May stare awkwardly at one another wondering if the events from this episode were real.
Tumblr media
Edd rejoins his friends.
Did Eddy notice Edd and May about to kiss? Edd has a lot of explaining to do.
What a like about Edd’s ‘I think I belong over there’ line is that he knows his place. Throughout season 5 he was ganging up on his friends. Edd went through a summer of change. Believing he was able to interact with the world on his own he’d abandon his friends. Still, he never left because he saw no friendship with the cul-de-sac kids. The Ed’s friendship is noticeably tense.
Season 5 of Ed, Edd n Eddy is unpopular due to its cruelty on the Ed’s. Little do fans know this became a huge plot device for Big Picture Show. The Ed’s were meant to be tense as they were learning a whole new meaning about the importance of friendship.
The Ed’s friendship recovers in season 6 although there is still tension floating in the air. We never got to see the rest of season 6, but it’s implied that everything started going downhill once more. Eddy started scamming once more when there are hardly any scams throughout season 5 and 6.
Tumblr media
And May returns to her crowd.
Marie looks as if she is giving May a disapproving look. I can’t make out Lee’s expression, but she looks as if she is worried about May.
May however looks embarrassed.
Her sisters don’t shower her with questions or give a hug expressing that she is okay. Lee and Marie were literally fighting wanting to know if May was hurt. What kind of welcome back is this?
Lee and Marie’s reactions worsen how May feels. She wants someone to care about her.
I liked how Nazz is staring at the sisters in the background. It’s one of those blank expressions, but it looks as if she is studying them. Nazz studies everyone’s interactions or their body language.
Tumblr media
“The harsh realities of your miserable lives have been restored. Thank you!”
My favorite Rolf line!
And our characters are all together in one frame! It’s rare whenever this happens.
There are three separate crowds however.
The Kankers, Kevin and Nazz, I can’t tell if Jonny is alone or not, and the Ed’s.
Rolf studies each character rather closely. It is true that the characters face an inner battle. We don’t see what they’re fighting. Only the Ed’s. Viewers get a real look into the Ed’s home lives.
The secondary characters are very important to the series. Their home lives should have been explored more. Then again maybe it’s best that we have little information so we can come up with theories based around the little background evidence.
May is still staring at Edd!
She wants to know what happened.
Edd is also very unsure about what happened.
And then the bell rings.
All the characters exit to their classes.
Tumblr media
Everyone except Edd.
Similar to Fistful of Ed where Edd is left alone in the cafeteria to try and put together the events that have happened. In both scenes the cafeteria is trashed.
Both times nothing was his fault. Edd believes he is at fault.
What would this scene have been like if May stayed? It wasn’t right to have her walk off screen with the other characters. She is the most perplexed by the events.
Edd may feel guilty because he quickly denied anything happened the second he snapped out from the love curse. A lie. Edd has another negative event to beat himself up about when he wasn’t at fault. The dodge ball incident really screwed up Edd’s mind. He masks his uncertainty mainly for his parents and his own sake.
