Alex Wilder (Marvel's Runaways): INTP
Tumblr media
Dominant Introverted Thinking [Ti]: Although Alex doesn’t have any superpowers, he is able to act as the group’s de facto leader because of his ability to make rational, detached decisions and keep a clear head in high stress situations. He tries to keep the group’s priorities in order and is more concerned with the mission of the moment than with everyone’s interpersonal drama. “Look guys, there’s an easier way to get to the bottom of this. We do some P.I. work and let cooler heads prevail.” Alex is their chief strategist, and he makes the majority of their tactical decisions. He is extremely logical and is skilled when it comes to generating solutions to the group’s various problems. Alex is incredibly intelligent, good with systems, and has a broad understanding of technology. His proficiency with computers is yet another attribute that regularly helps the Runaways on their missions. After Alex and the others discover what their parents are up to, Alex thinks quickly on his feet and cuts the power in order for them to evade suspicion (“I was covering the flash. Maybe it’ll seem like a circuit blew.”) Alex believes in science. The staff can’t be magic. However, when he shuts down Nico’s belief that the staff is powered by something supernatural, he does so in a soft, considerate manner (“With all due respect to your Wiccan beliefs
”) When Gert suggests that their team should have a nickname, Alex immediately suggests the “Runaways,” as a nod to all of the kids they were unable to save.
Tumblr media
Auxiliary Extroverted Intuition [Ne]: Alex is very good at brainstorming, and his numerous thoughts and ideas are filtered by his Ti, which quickly and easily determines his best course of action in any given situation. Alex’s intuition is extraordinary and he is very good at making connections and piecing things together, which is yet another reason he tends to take on the role of group leader. The group primarily acts on his theories and hunches, and they all trust him to arrive at the correct conclusions. Alex can generate ideas in the moment, and his quick, creative thinking not only keeps them out of trouble (cutting the power to make their parents think the flash from Molly’s phone was just a blown circuit), but also comes up with the majority of the plans for their various missions, whether it’s a hunt for information or a search for evidence.
Tumblr media
Tertiary Introverted Sensing [Si]: The past weighs pretty heavily on Alex. While the rest of the group appears to have moved on with their lives, it is Alex who takes the first step in reuniting his old friends and trying to recapture the close bond they once shared. When Alex first attempts to get the group back together, he tries to spin their current dislike of one another into nostalgia (“Classic Gert, you see? This kind of delightful banter is why I think we should all get together and hang out at my place tonight.)” He even tries to suggest that they all play Twister, because that’s what they used to play. After trying to convince them didn’t work, Alex made one more sentimental play to get them to come over – texting each of them a photo of them all from when they were all still close. Alex regularly references things he’s seen or heard before, and frequently makes comparisons between what’s currently happening and the things he’s previously viewed or read (“This is some Narnia shit”). It’s difficult for him to play a particular game, and his father even comments on how long it is since he’s played it, because that’s what he used to play with Amy.
Tumblr media
Inferior Extroverted Feeling [Fe]: Because Alex is so good at setting aside his feelings and remaining focused on the big picture, he can sometimes seem a bit cold or unfeeling. When Karolina sacrifices herself for the sake of the group, it is Alex who insists they must forge ahead without her, even though Nico is appalled by the idea of leaving her behind. It is also Alex who tells Gert that she must send Old Lace away in order for them to safely escape. Although he prefers to make decisions based on logic rather than emotion, he does feel very deeply, especially for Nico. Sure, he misses his friends and the way things used to be, but his main reason for getting the band back together was for her. Even though Alex witnessed his father participating in Destiny’s murder, he still shoots a kid in order to protect him, but immediately beats himself up over it. Andre was just an innocent kid following orders – was his father worth shooting him over? After Amy’s death, Alex mostly keeps to himself and doesn’t socialize much. He spends most of his time alone, much to the concern of his parents. Even though he does want things to go back to the way they used to be, it takes him a long time to be able to make the first move to get the group back together. Once he finally gets them all to come to his house, he tries very hard to make sure everyone enjoys themselves (“Yeah, if you guys don’t like veggie, there’s a pepperoni at the bottom. There’s a sausage under, and a pineapple, too. Or board games. Ooh, yes, Twister! Remember that we would always – ?”) On rare occasions, Alex’s emotions do take control. He becomes hellbent on rescuing Andre, because he feels guilty for shooting him in order to protect his father, and takes the group on a quest to save him. There’s no time for them to all sit and process their own emotions about what’s going on – they need to make sure no more kids get killed because of their parents.

Abe Weissman (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel): ISTJ
Tumblr media
Dominant Introverted Sensing [Si]: Abe is a creature of habit. He has his routine and greatly resents having it disrupted. He always reads in this room after dinner, so Ethan cannot have the television on in there! The thought of reading in a different room is simply absurd to him. Abe doesn’t enjoy compromising and wants things to be exactly as he’s used to. “This is how I live my life” and that’s that. He refuses to get a second television to put in Midge’s room because he’s not the sort of man who has two TVs. Abe is big on making comparisons. When he was Ethan’s age, he could re-sole a shoe. Abe is extremely traditional and the thought of Midge and Joel separating is simply unacceptable. She’ll just have to figure out a way to win him back. They can’t possibly get divorced. Abe uses things he’s seen or heard in the past in oder to handle situations in the present. If this way of completing a task worked in that situation, we can easily just apply it again now and get the same results.
Tumblr media
Auxiliary Extroverted Thinking [Te]: It’s important for Abe to be efficient and pragmatic. He’s unable to sit back and watch people do things the wrong way when he knows the quickest and easiest way of accomplishing a task. When he overhears Midge and Imogene struggling to put together the gift bags for the birthday party, he steps in and shows them how to do things the right way. “Set up a line like Henry Ford. Then pass the bags from one to the other. Candy cigarettes, pass the bag, silly putty, pass the bag, and so on.” Asserting his dominance as the head of the household and being the boss are crucial for Abe. He sets the rules. It’s his show and everyone else would do well to remember that! “I still control this house. I’m just doing it from in here.” When Abe believes that there’s no change of Midge and Joel getting back together, he takes the most logical action: inviting an acquaintance (who happens to be a divorce lawyer) over for dinner

Tumblr media
Tertiary Introverted Feeling [Fi]:
However, because Abe prefers to do instead of discuss, Rose and Midge are appalled that he had the nerve to go out and do a thing like that without consulting them first. Abe is pretty reserved emotionally and doesn’t really express his feelings. On the rare occasions that he does, he tends to demonstrate them through actions rather than words. When Rose guilts him because he hasn’t done anything to help Midge, he tries to help in a practical way as opposed to offering emotional support. He goes to Moishe and convinces him to split the cost of Midge and Joel’s apartment with him, so that their home will be waiting if and when they reconcile. Abe values marriage, and wants Midge to do whatever it takes to get Joel to come home, even though he was the one having the affair and he was the one who walked out on her when she had done nothing wrong. At times, Abe can be fiercely protective of the people he loves
Tumblr media
Inferior Extroverted Intuition [Ne]: Opening himself up to new things and dealing with change aren’t exactly Abe’s strong suits. He prefers what he’s familiar with. Unpredictability and disruptions in his usual schedule are stressful. He’s not very open to other people’s point of view because he tends to have trouble seeing beyond his own subjective impressions of people and situations. Abe is rather close-minded and tends to feel that he knows best without bothering to be objective and hear other people out. Although he isn’t very open to listening to those he disagrees with he is able to come around eventually, and even becomes willing to support Midge by setting up the meeting with the divorce lawyer so she can begin to move on with her life.

Miriam "Midge" Maisel (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel): ESFJ
Tumblr media
Dominant Extroverted Feeling [Fe]: Midge is great with people. She’s personable, charming, and charismatic. She doesn’t set out to become a comedian. Rather, she takes the stage of the Gaslight to vent about her feelings. Her husband just left her, so she just starts talking to a room full of strangers about it. Midge is comfortable in the spotlight and has no problems being the center of attention. People are drawn to her everywhere she goes, and she’s always able to keep an audience captivated. Midge has no interest in becoming a comedienne until Susie notices her natural talent and tries to talk her into pursuing a career in comedy. Midge is very good at feeling a room, and she is instinctively able to adjust her jokes in order to adapt to her audience. Midge is emotional, and wants Susie to learn how to comfort her. She wants Susie to lie and say she’s good, even when she isn’t! She needs Susie to let her cry and talk about her feelings when she has to. She desires a friendship with Susie, not just a professional relationship. Although she can get caught up in her emotions, Midge is also very good at putting on a good face for the sake of other people. Even though she’s angry with Joel, she’s able to put aside her feelings for the sake of the family, and is even able to be cordial towards him at dinner the day after he leaves her. Midge is extremely supportive of her husband. She wants to make others as comfortable as she can, and knows how to put people at ease.
Tumblr media
Auxiliary Introverted Sensing [Si]: A sense of familiarity and stability is important to Midge. After marrying Joel, she doesn’t want to move too far from home. In fact, she gets an apartment in the same building she grew up in, just above her parents. She’s reluctant to perform in venues other than the Gaslight, because she likes it there. “It feels like home.” Midge craves the traditional things in life. She wanted to go to college, meet a man, get married, and have a nice home. Midge is highly attentive to detail. When Joel performs, she carries around a book to take notes in, and logs everything. When she begins her comedy career, she makes a point of gathering as much information as she can in order to improve her own act. She watches other comedians perform, and writes down what about their act she’d like to incorporate into her own. Midge favors methods that are proven to work. If this works for that comedian, it will surely work for her as well!
Tumblr media
Tertiary Extroverted Intuition [Ne]: Although Midge can be a little uneasy about breaking out of her comfort zone, she is usually willing to after some prodding. And when she does, she typically shines. Midge is easily able to improvise, and delivers entire sets, which are often inspired by her personal life and experiences (Fe-Si-Ne) on the fly. Midge is very good at making connections, which is very useful in her standup routines. She’s able to make comparisons and create metaphors off the top of her head. Midge is able to throw herself right into new atmospheres and experiences, and, while it may sometimes be difficult for her at first, she is able to adapt to change quickly. In a very short period of time, Midge loses her husband, her home, and has to start working, which she’s never done before, and she not only survives, she thrives. When it comes to her comedy, Midge has a flair for spontaneity, and she’s not above switching gears in the middle of a set to take her routine in an entirely new direction.
Tumblr media
Inferior Introverted Thinking [Ti]: It’s nearly impossible for Midge to detach from her emotions. But that usually works in her favor, since she incorporates them into her sets. She can’t put her feelings aside. If Susie wants to be her manager, she has to manage all of her. Not just Midge, the comedienne, but Midge, the human being. Midge can be analytical about things, and her assessments about situations she finds herself in are often utilized in her routines. She has a quick mind and a very sharp wit, and has a knack for playful banter. Midge enjoys having debates, and likes engaging in conversations with her father where their opinions differ, which her mother chastizes her for. Sometimes, it’s difficult for Midge to look at things with objectivity and rationality. When she bombs, she blames the audience and is initially unable to see that the problem was her, not them. It’s difficult for Midge to handle choking, and briefly contemplates quitting altogether when she’s unable to deal with the heckling.

With Apologies...
Happy New Year, everyone! As you may have noticed, I've been absent from Tumblr recently. I'd just like to take a moment to apologize for that. I've been having several health issues over the last couple of months, and a lot of things really got away from me. However, I haven’t forgotten the blog, and I’m ready to get back to work.
I’m sorry that I haven’t gotten around to the requests in my inbox yet. While I’m still recovering, I’ll mostly be working on typings for characters I already have notes on, as opposed to characters that would require me to watch/rewatch something and take new notes. I’ll get around to them eventually, though!
Here’s a little list of the characters I’m currently working on posts for:
- Chase Stein & Karolina Dean (Marvel’s Runaways)
- Miriam “Midge” Maisel, Rose Weissman, Abe Weissman (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel)
- Eleanor Shellstrop & Michael (The Good Place)
- Queen Elizabeth II & Princess Margaret (The Crown)
- Betty Cooper (Riverdale)
- Dustin Henderson (Stranger Things)
I’m really looking forward to finishing those up. I’m hoping to get a post or two up later tonight, but if not, I should definitely have something ready for tomorrow! Thanks for your patience and I’m sorry again for the delay.
- Sheyla

Can you type the characters from Mr robot please?
Unfortunately, I’ve never actually watched it. I’m currently behind on a lot of typings, but I’ll definitely try to watch some episodes and give it a shot when I have time!

The !!! Functions !!! Don't !!! Work !!! Separated !!! Like !!! That !!!
I’m not really sure what your obsession is with how I run MY blog. In many of my typings, I do explain how the functions interact with one another. But if the way I do things bothers you, I suggest you simply stop reading my posts and spare yourself the frustration. I’m not going to change the entire format of my blog because ONE very rude anonymous person tells me that’s what I should do. You can give constructive criticism, but it’s completely unnecessary to be so nasty about it.

Charlie Bradbury (Supernatural): ENTP
Tumblr media
Dominant Extroverted Intuition [Ne]: Charlie is all about possibilities and ideas. She enjoys the fantastical, the novel, and anything different. Charlie has a tremendous amount of energy and tends to speak quickly, with one thought flowing into the next. She has a strong sense of adventure an and, more than anything, yearns for a quest. Charlie is extremely intuitive and she’s very good at reading between the lines and picking up on what’s really going on in most situations. Charlie enjoys LARPing because it gives her a break from regular, mundane reality. “It’s an escape. I mean, here, I’m queen, a hero. Out there in the real world, I’m just hacking out code and chugging coffee all day long.” Because her brain works so quickly, Charlie is typically good at improvising and can keep people talking or distract them when necessary.
Tumblr media
Auxiliary Introverted Thinking [Ti]: When Charlie is interested in something, she wants to acquire as much knowledge about it as she possibly can. She’s like a sponge, absorbing every bit of information she can get her hands on until she’s an expert. Although she’s a high school dropout, she has one of the sharpest minds at Roman Inc. Sam and Dean are impressed by the amount of research she has done to become a hunter. Charlie is extremely analytical and is very quick to determine logical inconsistencies, which also aid her in hunting. She can easily assess which theories and explanations are valid and which are impossible. Charlie is incredibly gifted with computers. She can figure out systems and machines very quickly, making her an asset to the Winchesters on numerous occasions. Charlie seeks to understand and wants to know how and why things work.
Tumblr media
Tertiary Extroverted Feeling [Fe]: While she can be a bit socially awkward, Charlie genuinely cares about people and wants to help them. Even though it’s dangerous, she can’t just abandon Moondoor. She’s their queen and she has to stay and fight for her home and her people. Charlie is extremely empathetic, and is very in tune with the emotions of the people around her. She always picks up on what’s going on between Sam and Dean, and tries to get them to talk to her about what’s going on and how they’re feeling. Charlie typically tries to do the right thing in most situations, though her issues with authority cause her to frequently break the law. When she discovered that the company she was working for was outsourcing to child labor, she outed them, which resulted in her being fired. Charlie is able to use her intuition (Ne) to make fairly accurate assumptions about what’s going on between people (Fe). “And let me guess, in doing so, he did something you didn’t want, and that pissed you off. And you said something that hurt him?”
Tumblr media
Inferior Introverted Sensing [Si]: Charlie prefers to focus on the future always wants to move forward. She doesn’t like to talk about her past, and is relatively okay with assuming new identities and leaving things behind. However, she does have difficulty letting go at times. Even though her mother’s condition will never improve, Charlie refuses to take her off of life support, and acquires the money to pay for it by any means necessary. When she can, Charlie sneaks into the hospital and reads her the same books she read as a child. She often makes references, as she is very quick to pick up on similarities between what she’s currently experiencing, and things she has read, watched, or heard in the past, which aid in her sense of humor. She has a habit of quoting movies (often, at very serious or dangerous moments), because she’s “always wanted to say that.” Charlie struggles to respect authority and doesn’t like to play by the rules, which often lands her in hot water.

Ninth Doctor (Doctor Who): ISTP
Tumblr media
Dominant Introverted Thinking [Ti]: The Doctor’s internal logic is his greatest asset. The Doctor believes he can solve any problem, and is able to look beyond the facts, allowing him to come to creative solutions. While his logical reasoning often saves the day, it also sometimes lands him in hot water with people because it causes him to be extremely blunt, and he tends to comes across as insensitive or rude. The Doctor is naturally curious and always seeks to understand the hows and the whys in every situation he finds himself in. He is able to make detached decisions based on rationality rather than emotion. He’s okay with allowing Gwyneth to sacrifice herself because the good of the many outweigh just one person’s life. When he first meets Rose, he’s interested in her theory, even though he knows it’s incorrect. But he’s interested in her logical process and how she arrived at her hypothesis (that the Autons are students playing a prank). He’s impressed by her analysis of the situation and declares that it makes sense, even though her assumption is wrong. The Doctor usually thinks to himself and only reveals details that are entirely necessary. He doesn’t want to explain anything to Rose at first, and only gives her brief snippets of information, until she gradually begins to prove herself to be useful to him. The Doctor wants people to think critically about the world around them. He’s frustrated when they don’t open their minds. “And no one’s going to stop you because you’ve bred a human race that doesn’t bother to ask questions. Stupid little slaves, believing every lie. They’ll just trot right into the slaughter house if they’re told it’s made of gold.” The Doctor always approaches things reasonably. When Rose wonders if he’s going to scan for alien tech after a crash, he simply responds by saying, “Rose, it hit the middle of London with a very loud bang. I’m going to ask.” The Doctor needs to know how a phone that wasn’t actually a phone was able to ring, and becomes obsessed with getting answers about it from Nancy. It’s not enough for him to know that human DNA is being converted to create these “things.” He also needs to know why and what the point of it is!
Tumblr media
Auxiliary Extroverted Sensing [Se]: Although the Doctor always has ideas, they’re typically pretty grounded and based on what he knows is possible. He doesn’t really get caught up in flights of fancy (like a couple of his later incarnations). The Ninth Doctor is also much more conscious of fitting in with the time period than some of his regenerations, and tells Rose that she must blend in with their surroundings. He tells Rose that he travels in order to see and experience. Not knowing what’s going to happen is fun and stimulating! He wants to watch events unfold and be part of them! It frustrates the Doctor when humanity proves incapable of believing in what’s right in front of them, especially when they seem to have no difficulty believing in things that can’t be seen or proven. “You’re happy to believe in something that’s invisible, but if it’s staring you in the face, nope, can’t see it. There’s a scientific explanation for that. You’re thick.” The Doctor tends to enjoy the moment without spending too much time brooding over the past or worrying about the future. He takes things as they come and enjoys adventure. He encourages others to just dive in and start doing. “The thing is, Adam, time travel’s like visiting Paris. You can’t just read the guide book, you’ve got to throw yourself in. Eat the food, use the wrong verbs, get charged double and end up kissing complete strangers. Or is that just me? Stop asking questions, go and do it.” The Doctor is so focused on the present that even the immediate past doesn’t have much impact on him. Somebody just died, but hey, they’re already gone. He can’t fix that, but he can prevent more people from dying now so that needs to be his primary objective.
Tumblr media
Tertiary Introverted Intuition [Ni]: The Doctor has very good intuition. However, he tends to follow one of his instincts until it proves incorrect, rather than juggling a bunch of hunches at once. The Doctor is able to see how events will unfold and understands motivations. “That’s why the Slitheen went for spectacle. They want the whole world panicking, because you lot, you get scared, you lash out
You get the codes, release the missiles, but not into space because there’s nothing there. You attack every other country on Earth. They retaliate, fight back. World War Three. Whole planet gets nuked.” While he is usually able to understand how events will unfold and is able to arrive at correct conclusions, he sometimes fails to understand what’s really going on in a particular situation (such as trusting the Gelth and trying to help them, only to realize they were actually the enemy). With no prior knowledge whatsoever, the Doctor is able to guess that Nancy lost someone and wonders who it was. Then, he is able to intuit that her little brother was actually her child, but since she was an unwed teenager at the time, she was forced to pretend that she was his older sibling instead of his mother. However, he does sometimes fail to relate things to the big picture. When the Doctor realizes that the words “Bad Wolf” keep turning up everywhere he and Rose go, he mistakenly writes it off as a big coincidence and doesn’t think much of it.
Tumblr media
Inferior Extroverted Feeling [Fe]: It’s very difficult for the Doctor to open up and talk about his feelings. He doesn’t like to talk about the Time War or his feelings about it. He has a habit of getting completely immersed in the mystery that he forgets about the people who are involved. When he first meets Rose, he forgets all about Mickey, and appears rather indifferent to her feelings about losing him. However, he claims that because he’s trying to saving the entire planet, it’s difficult for him to focus on just one individual. He fails to tell Rose that there is a possibility that Mickey is still alive, and when she admonishes him for this, he scolds her, telling her to “keep the domestics outside” (which he says on more than one occasion). The Doctor lacks tact and doesn’t really concern himself with protecting other people’s feelings. He tells it like it is, however unpleasant it might be for those around him. The Doctor’s sense of morality is more malleable than Rose’s. She is completely against allowing the Gelth to use the bodies of the deceased in order to save their species, but the Doctor is okay with it if that’s what it takes to keep them alive. The thought is appalling to Rose, but the morality of the situation doesn’t weigh heavily on the Doctor. “Not decent? Not polite? It could save their lives.” To him, it’s simply recycling. In order to get Rose to see things in a new light, he asks if she carries a donor card, and while she says she does, but that this is different, he reponds by saying “It is different, yeah. It’s a different morality. Get used to it or go home. You heard what they said, time’s short. I can’t worry about a few corpses when the last of the Gelth could be dying.” He often refuses to get involved with Rose’s personal life and is unwilling to spend time with her mother. He doesn’t care if Jackie wants him to come over. He has no interest in wasting time with her when there’s an entire universe to explore! The Doctor can be somewhat callous about other people’s losses, telling a man he can mourn his father later, because there’s nothing they can do to help him now. He’s gone, we’re here, we need to focus on saving our own hide. Although the Doctor isn’t great with relating to people in one-on-one situations, he does care about people and wants to help them. He’s overjoyed during the one occasion where he is able to successfully save everyone.
Tumblr media
Enneagram: 5w6 8w7 2w1 Sx/So
Note: I considered 7 for the Doctor, but I think that’s because fives can sometimes take on characteristics of sevens. I might change my opinion on this, but for now, I’m sticking with 5.

Catelyn Stark (Game of Thrones): ISFJ
Tumblr media
Dominant Introverted Sensing [Si]: The past constantly influences Catelyn in the present. It’s difficult for her to let go, and she takes out her frustrations about Ned impregnating another woman while at war on Jon, who is clearly not to blame. However, he is a constant reminder of her husband’s infidelity, and she is unable to show him a shred of decency or kindness. Her ties to her past are so strong, that even after spending years in the North, she has a hard time truly feeling like a Northerner, because it isn’t where she was raised, though being a Stark instills her with a strong sense of pride and duty. Her roots and her background are very important to her and shape who she is. Catelyn is very good at noticing past behaviors and using them to come to conclusions. Bran always looks at his feet before he lies. Catelyn adheres to the values and traditions of her people, and she takes her role as a Lady and as a mother very seriously. Catelyn’s past experiences shape every decision she makes. She makes decisions about who to ask for help and who to trust based on her previous interactions with them. She’ll speak with Lord Walder alone. She’s known him since she was a child, he would never hurt her! Ned leaving with Robert in the present brings up her painful feelings from the past, because the last time he did that, he returned with a bastard. Catelyn is mindful of details and cautious. When in her right mind and not overcome with emotion, she is able to take the right precautions in order to do what is necessary in any given situation. When Catelyn believes that Tyrion is guilty of attempting to have Bran killed, she uses the past and a sense of house loyalty in order to convince the men around her to restrain him and bring him in to answer for his crimes when she happens upon him on the road. She fears that if Robb loses the war, her family will receive the same fate as the Targaryen children. If Tywin had them all slaughtered once, he’d undoubtedly do so again!
Tumblr media
Auxiliary Extroverted Feeling [Fe]: Catelyn is very open with her feelings and acts on them regularly, which often gets her into trouble. Her family is very important to her and there is nothing she won’t do to keep them safe. Catelyn is typically warm and friendly, and tries to make Cersei feel comfortable while visiting the Starks in the north. She attempts to relate to her by reminiscing about how scared she was when Ned brought her to the north for the first time, and imagines Cersei must find it rather grim compared to King’s Landing, in an effort to put her at ease and establish some common ground. However, when provoked, she can become vicious, protective, and fierce, which is evidenced after she comes to believe that the Lannisters were responsible for Bran’s fall from the window. She refuses to leave Bran’s bedside, even though there’s nothing she can do because he needs her and she has to be there for him! In addition to playing upon loyalty when she attempts to have the men around her capture Tyrion, she also flatters their houses in an effort to have the men seize him and bring him to justice.
Tumblr media
Tertiary Introverted Thinking [Ti]: Although she can’t help but treat him poorly due to the circumstances, Catelyn knows it’s irrational to hate Jon for something that wasn’t his fault. She shouldn’t blame him for being born. It was Ned’s indiscretion. Because Catelyn is ruled by her emotions and her love for her family, she can sometimes struggle to do what is logical or necessary in her moments of grief and despair. None of that matters while she’s got a child fighting for his life and a husband who’s leaving home! Catelyn sometimes doesn’t think things all the way through and she can become so consumed by her emotions that she doesn’t fully see reason. If Tyrion had sent the assassin, would he really be foolish enough to arm the man with his own personal dagger? She is able to think strategically, knowing that their best tactic is to win the war is by defeating the opposing army in the field. If Robb went to King’s Landing to bend the knee, they’d never let him go!
Tumblr media
Inferior Extroverted Intuition [Ne]: Because of her attention to detail, Catelyn searches the room where Bran fell from, and comes upon a long, blonde hair, which leads her to the correct conclusion that people had been in there at the time of Bran’s accident, causing her to believe that he was pushed. She astutely assumes that Bran witnessed something he wasn’t meant to see. However, she understandably believes that Bran being pushed and the assassin sent to kill him were both staged by the Lannisters without considering that the incidents were separate. Before even reading Sansa’s letter, she is immediately able to deduce that the words in it were Cersei’s, not her daughter’s. Catelyn is able to figure out what’s really going on around her, though, her inferior function typically causes her distress, because she tends to imagine all of the ways something can go wrong. The last time Ned left Winterfell with Robert, he came back with another woman’s son!

Shawn Hunter (Boy Meets World): ISFP
Tumblr media
Dominant Introverted Feeling [Fi]: Shawn’s feelings are intense and private. He doesn’t typically open up to other people, and instead acts on his emotions instead of talking them out with his friends. When he realizes that Cory has applied to Stanford, he “breaks up” with him as a defense mechanism. He leaves Cory before Cory can leave him. He feels that when high school is over, they’ll have no choice but to go their separate ways, and so he acts on these feelings by shutting Cory out and making new friends. While Shawn isn't great at verbalizing his feelings, he is able to get them out by writing about them, and is proven to have a flair for poetry. Shawn usually does what he feels is right for himself, regardless of what others want from him or expect of him. Shawn is very good at interpreting situations and understanding people’s true intentions, but even though he’s able to accurately assess people’s motivations, he often impetuously goes along with them anyway, even when he knows better. He knows that the men from Cory’s job at the restaurant are in the mob and warns Cory, yet he takes Cory’s place when he quits because he’s desperate for money. He instantly realizes that the residents of The Center are members of a cult, but he joins them anyway because he wants to be part of something bigger than himself, where people don’t judge one another. He feels accepted for who he is there, which is very important to him. Shawn is willing to fight for what he believes in and doesn’t back down simply to keep the peace. He does whatever he feels is the right thing, though sometimes it takes him time to decide for certain what that is.
Tumblr media
Auxiliary Extroverted Sensing [Se]: One of Shawn’s trademark characteristics is his impulsiveness. He often acts without thinking things through and lands himself in trouble. He blows up a mailbox with a cherry bomb and decides to hide out at Cory’s because he’s afraid to go home to his parents. Although is obviously only a short-term solution that can’t work forever, Shawn has trouble seeing further than the present moment. He steals Jonathan’s motorcycle, even though he’s underage and doesn’t have a license in order to go looking for his father, and ends up getting caught by the police. Shawn is very fond of physical beauty. He enjoys meeting women and going on dates without actually making a commitment, and tends to get bored and move on quickly. He has a talent for photography, and nearly decides against going to college in order to pursue it. Shawn is typically more concerned with enjoying the moment than with being responsible and working hard. He doesn’t take the work study program seriously and goofs off, which irks Cory, who wants to excel. Shawn is good at seeing opportunities in his environment and using what is available to him to his advantage. When Mr. Feeny assigns them a project where they must invent a business and write a report, Shawn decides to turn Feeny’s house into a bed and breakfast while he’s away and has actual guests stay at his home. Shawn has a tendency to see things as they are and remains quite practical about life, whereas Cory tends to be more idealistic and hopeful. Shawn understands that there’s a good chance he won’t get into college and will have to find full-time employment, even though Cory refuses to accept that.
Tumblr media
Tertiary Introverted Intuition [Ni]: Although he doesn’t spend much time concerning himself with the future, there are moments where Shawn begins to panic about it and responds by acting rashly. When he realizes that Cory might end up at a college on the other side of the country, he cuts him out his life to spare himself the pain. On another occasion, Shawn tries to sever ties with Cory because they’re completely different people from polar opposite backgrounds. Shawn is from a family of criminals and degenerates and he’s sure that there’s no bright future in store for him. He becomes pessimistic about where he’ll end up, and decides he and Cory are not suited for one another. Shawn’s outlook on the long-term future is normally very negative, and he sometimes sabotages himself because he has difficulty believing in himself. Sometimes, Shawn can be extremely goal-oriented and can have tunnel vision. For instance, when Mr. Feeny assigns him to acquire tickets to the Superbowl or fail, Shawn doesn’t stop until he gets the tickets, telling Cory that doing so was the only thing that mattered and he was going to get there no matter what. He also becomes obsessed with helping Cory and Topanga get back together, because their love was symbolic of hope and without it, he had nothing to depend on, and he tried everything he could think of to help them reconnect. Shawn often displays a keen awareness when it comes to people and situations (Fi-Ni), and has the ability to accurately figure out what’s happening with little to no prior information. He often seems to immediately know what’s really going on with his friends or in a particular situation.
Tumblr media
Inferior Extroverted Thinking [Te]: Shawn doesn’t really know what his place is in society or in the world. He doesn’t think that he’s cut out to be a successful, productive member of society. Shawn doesn’t like to be controlled and tends to get defensive and rebel when other people try to tell him what to do. He doesn’t want to follow the rules or go along with conventional norms. He wants to be his own person and resents being told what to do with his own life. Maybe college isn’t for him! It’s not for everyone, you know. When Shawn sets his mind to something, he often has a good head for business, as evidenced in his project for Feeny’s class. He was able to run a successful bed and breakfast. He advertised at the airport and was able to think of telling the cab driver to lie to potential customers about the hotels being booked. Shawn also did very well in his work study program. He rose quickly through the ranks and fit in well at the advertising company, where he was asked to pitch ideas which managed to impress one of the firm’s top executives.

Robert Baratheon (Game of Thrones): ESTP
Tumblr media
Dominant Extroverted Sensing [Se]: Robert is concerned with the pleasures of the moment. He doesn’t actually want to rule. He enjoys the fun parts of being king, but has little patience for the day to day responsibilities that go along with it. His main interests in life include drinking, hunting, and sex. “I’m trying to get you to run my kingdom while I eat, drink and whore my way to an early grave.” Robert’s lavish tastes and tendency to spare no expense during tournaments put the kingdom in a great deal of debt, which then fell into the hands of Ned Stark, who simply couldn’t believe how much money they owed out. Robert places a lot of value on physical strength and being able to defend oneself, and is openly disgraced to learn that Joffrey allowed himself to be disarmed by a little girl. He enjoys fighting and handling weapons, and when Ned tells him to leave the jousting for the younger men, Robert says “Why, because I’m king? Piss on that. I want to hit somebody!” He also tend to take rash physical action in the heat of the moment, and strikes his wife without thinking in a fit of rage after she insults him.
Tumblr media
Auxiliary Introverted Thinking [Ti]: Although he is ruler of the Seven Kingdoms, Robert doesn’t have much patience for running things. He doesn’t enjoy organizing things and people, and prefers to delegate those tasks to others while he goes out drinking or hunting. Robert’s sense of logic is internal and he has a very good sense of humor. He has a good grasp on irony and is able to make jokes even in the most dire of situations. Robert is blunt, sometimes brutally so, and he can be very harsh to those he deems incompetent (such as Lancel). Robert assesses situations and comes to his own rationales. He’s able to detach from his emotions in order to make decisions. There are no subjects that can’t be discussed. While Ned is horrified at the idea of killing Daenerys, Robert believes it’s the only thing to do. Yes, Daenerys is practically a child, but she has to die because she is a potential threat. Case closed. While Cersei is demanding that Arya’s wolf be killed for biting Joffrey, Robert has little interest in the conflict. They’re kids! Kids fight! Let’s just each discipline our own kids the way we each see fit and be done with it! He doesn’t actually want to sentence the wolf to death, but

Tumblr media
Tertiary Extroverted Feeling [Fe]:
he also sometimes makes decisions based on what other people say. He doesn’t want to hear Cersei carrying on anymore, so, fine, the wolf dies. He doesn’t like settling conflicts and dislikes the tension that exists between his family and the Starks. He wants Daenerys dead because he spent his youth attempting to overthrow the Targaryens, and he’ll be damned if he allows Daenerys to return to Westeros to take back the kingdom. On his deathbed, he takes back his decision to have Daenerys killed after heeding Ned’s advice. When Cersei wants Ned punished for Catelyn taking Tyrion prisoner, Robert refuses to take action until he hears Ned’s side.
Tumblr media
Inferior Introverted Intuition [Ni]: Because he is so preoccupied with enjoying his life, Robert gives little thought to the future. All he knows is that he wants to keep the Iron Throne, but he gives little thought to the steps he needs to take to ensure he remains on it. Instead, he tends to leave the grunt work to his small council instead. He doesn’t foresee Sometimes, Robert gets fixated on one idea. After learning of Daenerys’ pregnancy, he is able to (accurately) predict that someday she will cross the Narrow Sea in a bid to take back the Iron Throne, and Robert wants to make a preemptive strike by assassinating her before she ever gets the chance to try.

Is it possible for you to type the characters of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency? Thanks.
I haven’t actually seen it yet, but it’s on my watch list and I plan to check it out soon, so hopefully in the next few weeks I can start typing the characters.

Note
Can you please do Betty Cooper from Riverdale? She's a favorite character of mine, and you need the whole gang for Riverdale!
I’m totally aware that I need to type Betty. I haven’t forgotten her. The problem is I haven’t actually decided on her type yet. She’s definitely xSFJ but her Si and Fe are both very well developed, and she seems to have a decent handle on both her Ti and her Ne in my opinion, so determining her inferior function has been a bit difficult. I’ll think it over again soon and I absolutely plan to type her as soon as I decide once and for all.

Rapunzel (Tangled): ENFJ
Tumblr media
Dominant Extroverted Feeling [Fe]: Rapunzel wants to please Mother Gothel and refrains from leaving her tower for her entire life in order to keep her happy. She spends her entire life doing what is expected of her and trying to be a good daughter. She is kind, warm, and genuine, and inspires others to open up and be vulnerable around her. She wants to be validated and doesn’t want to hurt anybody’s feelings or disappoint them (particularly Mother Gothel). Rapunzel is very good at tapping into other people’s feelings and empathizing with them. More than once, she gets out of a sticky situation by relating emotionally. She is able to get the men in the tavern to discuss their dreams, which keeps Flynn from being captured, and she is able to convince Maximus to wait before bringing Flynn in, which she does using flattery and by appealing to his softer side.
Tumblr media
Auxiliary Introverted Intuition [Ni]: For her entire life, Rapunzel is fixated on the lights that appear on her birthday. They’re a sign and they were meant for her. She needs to go see them. This one goal drives her, and she singularly focused on turning the dream into a reality. This deep-seated drive is the only thing strong enough to make her defy Mother Gothel. Rapunzel doesn’t tend to take things as they are, instead preferring fantastical explanations. “Something brought you here, Flynn Ryder. Call it what you will, fate, destiny-“. Rapunzel has an “Aha!” moment after seeing the sun symbol, and realizes that she’s the lost princess. She doesn’t need to have it confirmed by anybody else, she knows it.
Tumblr media
Tertiary Extroverted Sensing [Se]: When Rapunzel escapes her tower, she is enthralled by all of the sensory experiences the world has to offer. She is torn between her desire to run and play and do and her emotional meltdown over betraying Mother Gothel. To keep herself entertained throughout the day, Rapunzel paints, cooks, knits, cleans, plays guitar, dances, climbs, sketches, makes candles, and engages in other physical activities to occupy herself. Rapunzel is good at seeing potential in her environment, and often uses it to her advantage in her adventure with Flynn. Rapunzel gets a thrill out of experiencing the world outside of her tower. “Just smell the grass, the dirt. Just like I dreamed they’d be. Just feel that summer breeze. The way it’s calling me. For like the first time ever, I’m completely free. I could go running, and racing, and dancing
and chasing, and leaping and bounding. hair flying, heart pounding and splashing and reeling. And finally feeling, now’s when my life begins.”
Tumblr media
Inferior Introverted Thinking [Ti]: Rapunzel is able to think creatively, which allows her to get herself out of trouble. She seeks to understand what the lanterns are. In addition to all of the sensory activities she enjoys, Rapunzel also likes solving puzzles and playing chess. She spends a lot of time analyzing her emotions, and has a difficult time detaching from them in her decisions.
Note: I completely get the ESFJ argument, and I actually struggled with this typing for quite some time. Many of the Si arguments I see have to do with Rapunzel repeating activities day in and day out and taking Mother Gothel’s word for what the outside world is like. However, I don’t think this is entirely fair, given her circumstances. Rapunzel is trapped, and Mother Gothel is the only other person she has contact with. If you were trapped in a room for your entire life, you’d probably keep yourself occupied with what was available to you, and trust the woman you thought was your mother. Rapunzel isn’t truly happy with her everyday routine, though. She does it to keep herself stimulated (Se), but the entire point of the song is in the title. She asks “When will my life begin?” because she’s dissatisfied with performing the same tasks day in and day out. I don’t think her obsession with the lanterns stems from Si, but from Ni. She feels a deep connection to them that she has no way of explaining. I don’t believe that her going back and forth about whether she’s doing the right thing once she leaves is indicative of low Ne. I think that’s just her Fe. Her only real qualm is how her actions will affect Mother Gothel. I totally understand the ESFJ argument, though, and regularly bounce back and forth between the two types, so if I change my mind in the future, I’ll re-type her. Also, I see her typed as an ENFP a lot but she’s so Fe.
