On this round of P3R, we’re heading to the red-light district!
But first, I just want to say, Fuuka’s link requires MAX COURAGE to start? Omg. Now I’m assuming Mitsuru needs max academics. Good god. NG+ is absolutely gonna be needed for this.
So it’s now the third (technically fourth) full moon! And now that I’m thinking about the Magician and that whole mess, I think it’s a little funny that no one in SEES, in any of our downtime, has ever questioned, “Hey, what the fuck was that thing that ripped itself out of Orpheus and bodied the Magician in one shot? It might help with some of these slogging battles.” But no. It’s fine. We don’t need to know what that vastly powerful persona was. Whatever. Let’s rock.
Tumblr media
Shirakawa Boulevard, despite Ikutsuki’s attempts to talk around it, is where the love hotels are!
Tumblr media
I’m pressing X to doubt, sir!
So we’re off to the Champs de Fleurs hotel, and actually other than the weird curtained waiting area and sexy price list next to the front desk, it does look pretty normal? Like, it’s a hotel. It’s got hotel hallways and elevators and stuff.
Tumblr media
And then we get to the third floor and the equivalent to the presidential suite.
Tumblr media
This is labeled as the Hierophant’s Chamber, and… Lovers is supposed to be here? Did the P3 movies just straight-up skip the Hierophant Shadow and I never noticed? XDDD The Hierophant is very round and kind of looks like a really big guy with a lady with a head made of coral behind him.
Tumblr media
Hierophant wasn’t bad, actually, and we get to explore the room afterwards before heading back downstairs. The kids clown on a lot of the décor, but like, the silly round bed would be cool for the novelty, and who DOESN’T want a tub that big???
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But when we try to leave, we all get knocked out, and Minato wakes up in a different room, where Yukari is taking a shower.
Tumblr media
This sounds very like Orpheus, but it’s definitely not Orpheus, because Orpheus would know that Yukari is not our soulmate!
Yes I will continue being biased. XDDDDD
Tumblr media
If you say anything other than the correct answer, you get a “wait, that doesn’t seem right” thought bubble, and the dialogue just loops back to the start. You cannot fuck up the mission and game over on a night of brainwashed debauchery. XD
Minato comes to his senses, gets up from the bed, and Yukari comes out wrapped in a towel. She abruptly realizes where she is, screams, and slaps Minato before running back in the bathroom. And… Yukari? I was literally just standing here. Holy shit. Is this the pre-Kyoto warmup scene? God.
Tumblr media
NONE OF THIS WAS MY FAULT???
Fuuka gets through to us, and we go back up to the second floor to meet up with Junpei and Akihiko.
I can only assume Junpei and Akihiko were put in the same room.
Tumblr media
No one accused you of anything. Although now I’m giggling wondering what would have happened if I’d brought Mitsuru along instead.
We roam the hotel to find the mirrors we need to break to get back into the suite, and this is weirdly hilarious, all things considered.
Tumblr media
But eventually we find our way back into the boss arena, and the Lovers has the perfect design, honestly.
Tumblr media
GOD is it a bitch to fight, though. This fight took AGES because EVERY time it cast a spell with a charm effect, people got brainwashed. God forbid anyone other than Minato ever dodge an attack. Jesus fuck. I used every single one of my patra gems and dis-charms. Plus it cast diarama halfway through and of course when a boss does that it heals THOUSANDS of HP back to full health. Just give it salvation if you’re gonna do that.
As a brief side note, I love that when Minato casts the Jack Bros’ fusion spell, he just casually walks “offstage” afterwards and leaves them to it.
Tumblr media
But finally, we’re out of here.
Tumblr media
...Yukari volunteered so that I couldn’t take her out of the party and ruin my scripted undeserved slap. X’D
Tumblr media
Gee, Yukari, I wonder if it’s because no one ever has anything nice to say to him? He just gets treated like the comic relief.
Also, we’re being watched by these dudes.
Tumblr media
So when you say “we” do you mean you three, or like… humanity as a whole?
Back to the dorm to sleep this bullshit off, and then we move on with our week!
Tumblr media
...christ, dude, I just came to see how you were doing. Can I please have a dialogue option so we can talk about this??? No???? Okay… God, this is Mona all over again. My god damn Magicians are always having problems.
Tumblr media
...well, that’s nice. I wasn’t expecting that.
People at school are gossiping about how the school was rebuilt after an explosion ten years ago, and I’m getting texts from my attendant, who I apparently haven’t added to my phone? But at least she texts nicely.
Tumblr media
It’s pre-exam week, so all my social links are busy. Instead, my academics are lagging, so I’m studying with the members of SEES who aren’t cranky with me. That means Yukari and Fuuka, and Mitsuru and Akihiko. Akihiko recommends doing a quick workout after every few problems, because then, you’ll power through the next set in anticipation of getting to your next workout!
Tumblr media
Everyone I live with is insane. I love them. :’D
Ikutsuki calls a meeting to discuss something important, but before he can get to it, Yukari wants to speak. She’s had Fuuka looking into some stuff from the incident that happened ten years ago, and now she wants answers, because she thinks Mitsuru has been hiding things from us.
Other than the explosion, students were sent to the hospital, even though they were formally noted as just “absent”. It’s the same thing that happened to the girls bullying Fuuka; they fell unconscious and were unresponsive. Turns out, yeah, it was the same sort of thing. And it was Mitsuru’s grandfather, Koetsu Kirijo’s fault.
In greater Persona lore, knowing that he broke off from the Nanjo Group, he probably had access to tech that made his bullshit significantly easier to pull off. At the very least, we know he had the blueprints for a prototype anti-shadow suppression weapon, and the method to create artificial persona-users. But of course, he pushed too far.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Sorry that these subtitles are kind of blurry. Basically, they gathered up a shitload of shadows and then lost control of them, because of course they did.)
Tartarus and the Dark Hour exist because of all of this. The lab explosion happened because they lost control, and because the lab was around/under Gekkoukan, it ended with the school needing to be rebuilt as well.
Yukari is not pleased with this development. She feels like we’re just being used to clean up other people’s mess. But as Ikutsuki puts it, we’re the only ones who can fix things. Normal people can’t fight shadows.
He also says that no one knows why the Arcana Shadows suddenly reappeared after ten years, but… Well.
No one is okay after this.
Junpei is angry because he feels like nothing he does is good enough, and that all he’s really good at is fighting, which won’t be necessary anymore if the Dark Hour vanishes.
Akihiko goes to see Shinji, who he apparently grew up with in an orphanage with someone named Miki, to tell him that they know how to stop the shadows now. But Shinji still won’t come back to SEES.
Me and Minato aren’t okay because I’ve finally started this guy’s social link, and he’s a dick.
Tumblr media
Yukari’s dad was the lead researcher on the shadow stuff that led to the explosion, so I assume that he’s the one who got blamed for everything. Ikutsuki mentioned that the media picked one dude and demonized him.
Tumblr media
I think this date is wrong, though. If it was ten years ago, that’d be 1999. Right? :/ It’s also just funnier if the lab exploded like 3 weeks after the Sumaru crisis ended.
But I saved the cat! So everything is not a complete wreck.
Tumblr media
Pharos comes back to see me and implies some sketchy shit about my parents.
Tumblr media
My parents (and my sister, shush, I’m pretending it’s canon) did not explode, though. So this isn’t their fault.
Tumblr media
We’re absolutely friends.
After affirming that at least one person will stick by me to the end, even if that one person is a strange child who keeps waking me up at midnight, I come home from school the next day to find everyone sitting around experiencing the most awkward silence ever conceived.
Tumblr media
Akihiko, no!
Thankfully, we manage to talk through what’s bothering the group as a whole (Junpei is still mad at me, I think), and Ikutsuki shows up to suggest that after exams, we all go on vacation to Mitsuru’s family’s summer home on the island of Yakushima. Her dad is going to be there, apparently!
Mitsuru reluctantly agrees, Yukari apologizes to her for being too gung-ho and accusatory the other night, and I think we’re all chill again. Which is good.
Tumblr media
…….it’s my last night before exams and my option for study-buddy is Ikutsuki???
Nah. I’m out.

Okay had a random thought and had to share it so Rumi from P5R right? We know almost nothing about her. We know her first name, she was engaged to Maruki, she was pretty dang cheeky and strong willed according to Maruki, her birthday is February 3rd, shit hit the fan one night and fucked up her life. That's all we know.
Here's what my sleep deprived brain has come up with: She has red hair, red eyes, and we don't actually know her surname... Rumi Kirijo, anyone?
ANON ANON WHEN I SAY MY JAW HIT THE FLOOR!!!!!
Like this is such a COOL IDEA???? LIKE IM ACTUALLY LOSING MY MIND IM TRYING TO FORM COMPREHENSIVE THOUGHTS?! I can't remember how old Rumi is but like what if she and Mitsuru were sisters... Or cousins even... Holy shit my brain is thinking to fast but I absolutely love this? I am going to be thinking about this all day omfg I love it. Thank you for sharing and blowing my mind anon 😳

Top 5 Persona Characters?
oh i’m so glad you sent this ask!! for this, i’ll try not to include any of the protagonists because they technically don’t have a canon personality; their personalities are mostly widely known fan inferences rooting from their dialogue options and overall attitude (which i also believe as well,, but yeah we’ll just not include them in. plus let’s just have the other characters shine!). keep in mind, i really am not the best with putting my thoughts into words, so some sentences might seem kinda funky lol. and everything here is my opinion :]
1) yosuke hanamura (persona 4)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
sometimes, it saddens me that people view his character from the surface level and are quick to renounce him as homophobic and pervy. to add fuel to the flame, atlus kind of flanderizes yosuke’s character in golden and the animation (trust me, i love the animation and they did add some parts for yosuke that i love, but you gotta admit they could’ve done his character a bit more justice). of course yosuke’s flaws should be recognized and be critiqued, but honestly, these flaws are what make yosuke yosuke. removing those things, in ways, takes away from the 3 dimensional-ness of his character.
i feel that it was made clear what his “stereotypical role” was going to be in the story from his easily perceived surface personality traits. some of these traits were his recklessness, competitiveness and the fact that he was constantly being dunked on by the other characters, making him seem like just the comic relief. but throughout the story, you find out he’s more than that (which i will talk more in detail a little later). most prominently known by fans, there is the “bro” aspect to him. in this game, yu is the one who has to walk up to people and ask them to hang out, but yosuke is the only one of all the characters who takes the initiative to get to know yu. he nicknames you partner, constantly calls you on the phone at night, and always kind of asks you questions and says things to get a reaction out of you. from this, a natural friendship between blossoms and you feel like you get know really know yosuke personally. you learn that he’s actually very strategic and intelligent, incredibly loyal and cares deeply about his friends, and is overwhelmingly insecure and repressed. okay, we have to talk about this part. he seems closeted, and that can be the reasoning on why he sometimes makes homophobic remarks. i do think it’s a shame that his romance route was scrapped when it obviously was far in development. for some, the bro aspect can super fixated on and might be one of the only reasons why someone likes yosuke. this sadly kind of subconsciously fetishizes their relationship. of course that’s not the case all the time! but it’s something to be mindful of. even looking past the souyo ship (which i love deeply!), they are such great friends platonically, and yosuke himself is such a great character. throughout the story, he matures and develops into someone more humble, thoughtful and appreciative. from the moment he first showed up on screen, i kind of had a feeling he was going to be my favorite. and it’s kind of crazy how much i grew fond of him over time and realized the impact his character made on me.
2) elizabeth (persona 3)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
elizabeth is so underrated, and i speak that from the bottom of my heart. she is so hilariously naive and funky, while also being one of the most powerful and intelligent persona characters. the way you are first introduced to her are through fulfilling her requests in the velvet room. as you fulfill her requests, you’re kind like, “you want me to do that,, really?” she tells you to bring her oil?? for some reason? and to feed a cat so it can prosper forever and ever? those are just some things i can think of at the top of my head. from these requests, you kind of get a peak at her funny weirdness and you’re just like “okay you’re weird but i like you.” and when you get to take her on dates (but i just see them as hangouts :]), you are essentially helping her make new experiences of the world outside of the velvet room and get into a lot of wacky hijinks. with this, her endearing weirdness and naivety really starts to shine, making you fall in love with the character. so now you’re like “wow, you’re really weird i love you lol.” her funny weirdness also translates to her dance style in persona 3 dancing, which i absolutely  love. it really encapsulates that side of her character accurately (and you gotta admit she’s got some cool funky moves).
beyond the funny side of her, you find out how truly powerful she is as a being. she can wield thanatos, which was only previously held by someone with the universe arcana), and is unfathomably strong as she is one of the harder boss fights in the entire series. it is also important to note that she is also very determined and i found it bittersweetly heartwarming that she is still mourning over makoto/minato(i nicknamed him virgin walk)’s death years afterward (as seen in persona 4 arena) and that she is dedicating herself to free his soul that is bound to the door of death. she misses her dear friend, and i just really love that she threw caution to the wind and went on this journey to try to find a way to resolve something that is seemingly impossible. and she is still doing it to this day, into the persona 5 timeline (because persona 5 royal shows that minato/makoto/virginwalk is still bound to the door). persona 3 happens in 2009 and persona 5 happens in 20XX (which is assumed to be 2016). it has almost been a decade. i truly think it’s in her character to keep searching for a way to free him no matter how long it takes. with all aspects of her personality in mind, i love her character with my whole heart.
3) yukiko amagi (persona 4)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
if i’m completely honest, yukiko was not one of my favorite characters at the time i played persona 4. i was one of the many people who overlooked her character because the others pretty much outshine her. because she is introduced in the beginning as the first dungeon, you start to put her towards the background once kanji, rise and naoto are introduced. from the surface, the first impression of her is “okay, i guess her quirk is that she laughs a lot?” i initially thought this too, but thinking more about it, i began liking that about her, and with more thought, i realized that i liked other things about her character as well. her sense of humor is so dumb? she laughs at lame stuff and fixates on things in conversation that just make you go “uhh okay,,, yukiko??” i think i opened my eyes to this when i was playing her story in persona 4 arena. i found it so hilarious that she fixated on the quality of the box lunch she prepared for everyone out of all the things happening, and that her whole arc in that game revolved around how bad it was (putting it into simpler terms). i also really think its funny how blunt she is too. she’s ready to shoot people down, and most of the time, it’s unintentional.
and other than her quirks, i kind of like how her arc developed in the game. i know that many people saw that the end of her arc as “wrong” because they were expecting the usual resolution to problems similar to hers. they expected her to “follow her heart and pick freedom” if she feels trapped in her role as an innkeeper when she inherits her family’s inn in the future. but that wasn’t the point. i actually kind of like that she ultimately chooses to stay. in her social link, she decides to stay in inaba and to run the inn because it’s her own choice. she chose this out of her own will and that’s the only thing that mattered; no one else is forcing her to inherit the business and she decides that’s what she wants. i also really like that the animation showed the responsibilities and hard work she has to go through at the inn; it was a nice touch and really displayed how responsible she was and how much she prioritizes and dedicates her time at the inn. although she is responsible, she is not necessarily the “mom-friend” of the group. she can be a bit crazy like everyone else too. honestly the whole investigation team runs rabid because there is no mom-friend to keep them in check (persona 3 has mitsuru and persona 5 has makoto). anyway, really taking the time to think about yukiko’s character made me love her.
4) yusuke kitagawa (persona 5)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
okay, this is going to be very straightforward, but i think that yusuke was one of the most enjoyable parts of persona 5. i loved whenever he was on screen,, he’s super eccentric and i find it so funny to see the whole starving-artist thing taken literally. he’s definitely awkward but is trying his best! he definitely has the most stage presence compared to the other phantom thieves. the other members are pushed to the background whenever he speaks. he’s dramatic and over the top, but somehow this hilarious absurdity is relatable.
other than the tendency to steal the show, his social link is more focused on his own development and his own personal growth. whereas, with the other characters, it kind of focuses on the character and the people they associate with outside the phantom thieves. for yusuke, in comparison, it’s much more personal. you travel around with him to help him to figure out what the aspects of the human heart are and to help him get out of his artistic slump after opening his eyes to the abuse he went through with madarame. he originally had a narrow perspective but overtime he learns to broaden it. i just really like how the social link plays out, it was really satisfying. and i just love how genuine and sincere he is as he is always doing things out of pure intentions. it’s also so admirable to see how much passion he has for the things he loves. yusuke, with certainty, is one of my favorite phantom theives.
5) yuuki mishima (persona 5)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
mishima is such an important and underrated character in persona 5. mishima throughout the whole game has been nothing but nice to you, even with akira/ren’s reputation. sure, he can be awkward and can be seen as overbearing to some, but he’s always had his heart in the right place. i’ve kind of always liked his dumb awkwardness and seeing how he’s trying hard to be our friend (it’s a shame our dialogue options toward him are always kinda mean but hopefully he sees it as teasing). he is so crucial to the story because honestly, he’s the one who got the ball rolling by creating the phansite, and that phansite actually helped so many people. he, himself, doesn’t even get recognition for making the site, he just really believed in the phantom thieves and wanted to help them in the ways he could. he did have an arc to humble himself after getting hungry for fame, but in the end he changed his own heart with his own will (and is the only character to do that!) which is pretty powerful.
i also love that he’s always been a supporter of the phantom thieves no matter what happens and what other people think. when the phantom thieves were being trashed on, he still held onto hope and believed they were doing the right thing (plus him supporting them in those times just proves he wasn’t just doing the phansite for fame!!). another moment that screams this most is toward the end, when everything was in destruction and people were forgetting about the phantom theives in the time literally needed someone to believe in them most. mishima was the only one who still had faith in them and knocked some sense into everyone else. without him there, things could have turned out pretty badly. and i know i’ve heard that some fans wanting him to be a phantom thief himself, but it would just mess with a major part of his character. there’s something about him not completely knowing who the members of the phantom thieves are and him deciding to help with the phansite despite this, you know? yeah i like mishima a lot :))
some honorable mentions are kanji tatsumi (persona 4) and aigis (persona 3)! some of the honorable mentions are characters i like over some others that are on the list but i wanted to make sure i included people from persona 3, 4, 5 (because honestly this list would be persona 4 dominated if i didnt lol).

PersonA3!
Chapter 1- New Beginings
Word count- 1609
Description- Tsuzuru moves in with a small family to be closer to his new collage, but he finds it won’t be as normal as he’d hoped
Authors note- This is my third attempt to get it to tumblr so here’s hoping that it’s working now edit: and I forgot to add the chapter title
“Good luck with school, Tsu-Chan!”  Mitsuru says, hugging his side.
“Thank you, be good while I’m gone, okay?” Tsuzuru gives him a pat on the head with a smile
“I don’t know what we’ll do without you,” His mother says with a small chuckle.
“I’m gonna be the responsible one, now!” Kaoru declares “So don’t worry about us while you’re away!”
“You have a place to stay there, right?” His father asks
“Yes, I contacted them some time ago, I checked the messages again this morning, and I looked into the people and location.”
“Good, good. I thought you did but I just wanted to make sure you’re not left stranded in a strange place.” His dad gives him a firm pat on the head.
The Minagi family says their goodbyes as Tsuzuru gathers his bags and boards the train.
Tsuzuru finds a seat and pulls his stuff close to him to take up less room, people bumping into him nonetheless. Such is life. As the train goes forward, Tsuzuru starts to nod off.
When Tsuzuru starts to wake up again, he doesn’t hear anyone else. When he opens his eyes, there are only two other people sitting right in front of him, and the train has changed, too. It’s blue and looks much more extravagant. This can’t be the train I boarded. It’d be too expensive. Tsuzuru thought.
One of them is balding and has grey hair. He also has a strangely long nose.
The person next to him had long white hair tied into a ponytail which lay over his shoulder.
“Welcome, to the Velvet Room” the balding man says. “I am Igor.”
Velvet Room, huh? Yeah, way too expensive. This train is basically calling me poor.
“Your journey is beginning,” Igor continues. “A new location. New allies to make. Our time here together is coming to an end, but I know we’ll see each other again.”
Tsuzuru wakes up again, incredibly confused. He doesn’t get to ponder it long, as he realizes he’s at his stop.
Exiting the train, he pulls up the address and starts to walk.
~~~
A while back Tsuzuru looked into the area he’d be staying at to make sure it was a good area. Part way through he got distracted by a street nearby. Veludo Way. It’s known for all the theater companies that are around. He was thinking about the possibility of being a scriptwriter for one of them. It could be good money. Though one theater drew his attention more than the others.
Mankai.
It had been closed down for a long time now, but whoever owned it didn’t seem to want to let it go.
After some time of walking, Tsuzuru arrives at the address, which was good, because he’s feeling as though his lungs were about to give out.
Tsuzuru knocks, and answering the door is a woman with long dark brown hair. She has a small beauty mark under her left eye, which are sharp and grey. Her outfit consists of a simple pink robe.
Tsuzuru can’t help but feel intimidated as she stares downs at him.
“Are you the college kid who’s going to be staying here?”
“Uhm, if I’m at the right address, then yes.”
“Alright, one second.” She turns around and shouts “Izumi! The kid’s here!”
Izumi seemingly runs to the door, as there are loud footsteps and she’s breathing a bit heavily when she arrives. She has long brown hair, lighter and longer than the other woman’s and big brown eyes. She’s wearing a white shirt with black stripes and blue jeans. She practically radiates happiness.
“This is my daughter, Izumi. And I’m Yasashii Tachibana. Your room is a little small, I hope you don’t mind.” Saying this, she turns around and leads him to where his new room is.”
“Oh it’s, fine. I’m just grateful you’re allowing me to stay here. My name is Tsuzuru Minagi. Thank you, Tachibana-san.”
“Well, Izumi needs a friend so-”
“Mom! Don’t say that type of stuff to him. It’s weird. And I can make friends on my own, thank you.”
“Right, that’s why you’ve made so many new friends since you left school.”
Tsuzuru tries to make himself seem as small as possible in hopes they would forget he’s there.
“Here it is, Minagi-san. I hope this is okay.”
She was right when she said it’s small, but Tsuzuru had done more with less and he was being honest when he said he was just grateful to be there.
“No, it’s great, thank you again.”
“Let me help you get unpacked!” Izumi offers.
“Oh, no, I can get to it myself, thank you, though.”
After the Tachibanas leave him to his own devices, he takes a look around his new room.
The bed’s headboard is pushed up to the middle of the wall underneath a window. There’s a desk pushed into the corner with a small lamp on it, there’s also a small plastic stool, presumably to be a stand in for a chair. It’s not gonna ruin my posture anymore than it already is.
Tsuzuru checks his phone to see when he will be starting school. About a week. He decides he should get to know the area he’s now going to be living in. Leaving his room he sees Izumi on the couch on her phone.
“Hey, Izumi-san, I was planning to go out to see the area. You wanna come with? Maybe you could show me around some.”
“Oh, yeah I’d love to!” She says, sitting up. “Although I have something to do in about an hour so the tour’s gonna be a little short. Hope you don’t mind.”
“It’s alright. It’ll probably be better to see the town by myself some afterward to get a good feel for it.”
“Then it’s decided!” Izumi says, jumping up and clapping her hands together. “Lets go!”
They tell Yasashii that they’re going out to introduce Tsuzuru to the area and then head out.
~~~
“There are great grocery stores here, and they’re particularly cheap”
“That’s good. Won’t need to worry about that, I suppose.”
“Oh! I need to go now, I hope that was good! See you later!”
“Bye! Thank you for showing me around!”
After saying their goodbyes Izumi runs off, leaving Tsuzuru to look around by himself. Maybe I should check out Veludo Way. He checks his phone and sees that it’s close by. With that he starts walking.
When he arrives he sees a man curled up against a wall looking worse for wear. He was groaning some and holding his sides and Tsuzuru couldn’t help but feel concerned.
“Hey, are you okay?” Tsuzuru asks him.
The man looks up at him, seemingly startled. “No, no I’m alright, but- uh- thank you.” His voice didn’t make him seem any more healthy.
“Are you sure? I can call a doctor-”
“No! No, I’m… I’m fine. Thank you, though.”
As he said that another man comes running over. He has fluffy brown hair and lavender eyes. He’s wearing a brown sweater with blue and yellow stripes.
They’re saying something. Tsuzuru is sure of it. But he’s too busy wondering what’s going on. After sometime of trying to comprehend it, the two men turn to him, snapping him back to reality.
“Sorry if I scared you.” The first man says, putting out a hand to shake.
“Oh, uh, yeah… what?”
“I was so worried when I got here and saw Tasuku talking to someone.”
“Well if you’d show up on time then I wouldn’t have unknowing people being concerned about my well being, would I?” Tasuku looks back at him again “Thank you by the way. So what brings you here? You… seem a little lost?”
“Mentally, yeah. I guessed I should have realized that you were just acting.”
Now that Tasuku’s standing, Tsuzuru can get a better look at him. He has dark hair and piercing grey eyes. He’s wearing a white shirt with black sleeves and… some kind of design on it.
“I’m new to the area so I was just looking around.”
“Oh!” The shorter man pipes up. “You’ll love it here. The performances are amazing, especially ours. We’re part of the God Troupe. Come see our shows sometime! You’ll love them I’m sure of it!”
“Yeah, I’ll do that, thank you. See you around.”
Tsuzuru continues looking around and finds what drew him to Veludo in the first place. Mankai. The building doesn’t look like it’s been abandoned, it looks quite well kept. He stops to take it in and notices two other people also standing there. One of them being a blonde man with a black jacket and… Izumi?
Tsuzuru doesn’t mean to eavesdrop. He can’t help it.
“Why do you keep this thing up?” The blonde man asks her.
“It’s the last thing I have of my father. I was just thinking… maybe if I search around in there, I might find something… some reason he left.”
“Why here of all places?”
“He spent most of his time here so there must be something, anything.”
“Well you’ve done good holding that thing together, I’ll give you that.”
“It wasn’t easy. It was in such horrid condition when I got to it, I practically had to rebuild it with string.”
“I hope you find what you’re looking for.” Saying this, the blonde man turns and walks down the street
“Yeah, me too” Izumi whispers. Tsuzuru could hardly hear her. Looking down, Izumi sighs and leaves.
Tsuzuru looked back up at the building. So this is izumi’s? Tsuzuru decides he’s been confused enough today and decides to go back to the Tachibana house.

Ignore me, just doing some more basic headcanons for the twins.
Under a cut bc it has mentions of suicide and a bunch of underlying dark themes.
@thedetectiveofinaba @afortiicri
Persona 3:
Canon happened, but Minako pulled her bed down from the third floor and sleeps beside Minato. They're so used to having to share a bed or room that they just rest a hand on the night table to make sure that the other can feel their presence by holding hands to sleep.
They respect each other when it comes to maxed S.Link and their dateable people. They dated the entire dorm's eligible and age-appropriate people, just not at the same time.
No. They did NOT date Ken. But Ken did propose to Minako, but she told him to wait until he was actually old enough to back up his words.
Minako dated Shinjiro and absolutely shut down. She visited him daily in the hospital until the day she died.
Because he was released from the hospital, Shinji ran up those stairs and held her as she died.
Minato had Aigis watch him die.
The Answer happened and everyone was there. Even Shinji was there.
The Answer is like January 1st for like week straight and the rest of them are wondering why they died. They find out at the end that they died to save the world.
Persona 4:
They're about 14-16, running away from their foster homes.
They found a foreclosed home in the outskirts of Inaba and decided to live there.
There's no water or anything, so they get really creative. Buying (pretty much) the entire blanket section at Junes does the trick for cold weather, but lots of bottled water on hot days. Going to school early to shower in the sports team’s shower rooms, charging their phones at work which is usually Junes but they run around the shopping district and help out there too.
They're enamored by P4-kun. Like, wow. How is he so cool?! If not for Kuma/Teddie, then they would be the most hype about P4-kun.
Also, Naoto's super hot. Minako tried dating her first.
On the topic of Naoto, EVERYONE is convinced that Minato is actually Naoto's brother until he showed his natural hair roots to disprove it. He has his sister's red hair but dyes it black/blue; while Minako puts red highlights in hers.
In my ship with @thedetectiveofinaba -- Strangers seem weirded out by PDA between Minato and Naoto, their friends (Investigation Team) called them MiNaoto as a joke but it actually stuck.
Minako has the biggest freaking crush on our resident dork prince, Yosuke. Will not act on said crush if P4-kun is after said dork.
They have a double dungeon. It's like a really fucking long hallway divided by thin glass, with many, many doors and many, many voices telling them that they're useless and only there for the money.
The glass has childish drawings since they can’t read backwards characters all over it.
Blue and pink dolls (with a number) representing their age start a new section of their nightmare dungeon.
There are mannequins sitting on chairs after the preteen dolls. Once the Investigation Team finds the twins, the mannequins are hanging from the ceiling, chairs kicked aside or inky red lines along the mannequins' wrists.
The Investigation Team has to use ice against fire attacks and vise-versa. Their boss forms are like twisted, headless versions of what they end up afterwards bc Personas.
Persona 5:
They were brought back like, shortly after Nijima Makoto’s Persona awakening.
It’s been almost a decade since they walked on solid ground.
They’re weak AF. Physical muscles need to be rebuilt. Even walking is a struggle at first.
They decide to change their names and try to go back into society again. Minato is Yuuki Makoto, Minako is Yuuki Mika.
Futaba can’t find an internet trace because these people aren’t supposed to exist anymore.
Their Palace is similar but every floor is a new foster home.
At first, only P5-kun (will be referred to as Aki-chan from here on) knows about their situation. It takes Aki-chan to unlock their level five Fool Confidant link to even know this.
It takes until their shared Palace is cleared until the Thieves learn about who they were.
Their old Gekkoukan IDs and uniforms were their Treasure because of the tight bonds they wove with their friends during their stay in Iwatodai.
Stupid nicknames. For everyone. It makes it a little more unique when a 17YO P5-kun answers to “Aki-chan” casually.
Dead serious about the stupid nicknames. All of the Phantom Thieves have one. Their most unusual one is for Nijima Makoto to differentiate which one they’re talking about. They call her “Mako-tan”.
It’s Igor’s fault that they came back to Earth again. It was a mistake but it also cuts Igor’s S.Link in half, since they’re part of the Fool confidant.
They stay at Le Blanc until they get in touch with Kirijou Mitsuru to find their old friends to crash in their houses until they can get their own place.
Shinjiro’s maxed S.Link helps Minako out since she ends up sleeping at Shinji’s place every other day. Minato stays with Yukari after his sister starts staying with Shinji.
If MiNaoto is a thing, they both stay with Naoto but she has one bed and someone always ends up on the floor. Minako stays with Aki-chan on “not suitable for minors” nights. Yes, they have a system to let the other know how the night will end up.

Aikoto Moments Masterlist: Persona Q
Previous Masterlists:
The Journey
P3P
The Answer

Persona 3 Dancing in Moonlight
Drama CD
Chain Chronicle
I finally finished both, the P3 side and the P4 side! So here’s a list with the Aikoto interactions in both of them.
Tumblr media
For the most part, I’m only taking into account the moments when they actually talked to each other.
For other PQ related Aikoto things, see these:

And there’s also this adorable tiny thing in the book’s invitation (alongside the entire cast):

Persona 3 Side
Tumblr media
Story
At the start, when Ken asks where Makoto is, Aigis is the one to answer that he said he’d go to the Velvet Room.
Tumblr media
I chose the “I don’t want to go option”:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even if you want Aigis to play safe, she goes and does it anyway lol
Tumblr media
When you say you’d choose a “A titanium-bodied beauty”:
Tumblr media
Later, when the team reaches a dead-end and the girls start talking about the whole ‘Destined Partner’ thing, Aigis goes:
Tumblr media
This prompts the girls to realize that it’s Makoto’s destined partner that they will be finding out, and then they wonder if that means that one of them will be chosen.
Aigis says that “It could be anyone from the planet”, to which the girls retort that it’d be too wide a pool. Then Chie goes:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So basically, Chie didn’t ask whether Aigis and Makoto are dating because Aigis said she’d be his destined partner. Aigis actually admitted that it could be anyone in the entire planet. Which means Chie asked that because of their behavior lol
The most noteworthy Aikoto interaction in the P3 side happens in the last dungeon, The Clock Tower, where Aigis tries to cheer Ken up:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Makoto gets two options then, either to say “I’m sure that’s it” or to ask Aigis “Do you want to change?”
What’s interesting is that he literally turns his back towards the viewer in order to talk to Aigis. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but from what I can remember, this may very well be the only time he does that to talk to someone.
Tumblr media
Aigis then explains that she is the same as Rei. She yearns for life and to live.
Tumblr media
Afterward, Makoto gets the options “I’m sure you can change”, “Let’s grow with everyone” and “Ask to be upgraded.”
Hilariously enough, it’s the last option which gets the best reaction out of Aigis lol (in the other ones she just thanks him):
Tumblr media
Later, they both pull a prank on Mitsuru. First Makoto, then Aigis. Thus once again showing how similar they are lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When they get home, Aigis is the first to welcome him back, and then you can see her waiting for him:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“We couldn’t have started without you.”
Wedding
You can watch the entire Aikoto Wedding event HERE! Some of the key points were:
If Makoto says that he’s fine with their hands being stuck to each other, Aigis says she’s fine with it as well but it might be inconvenient when fighting shadows.
If Makoto says that their marriage photo made him happy, Aigis muses that it also made her feel a little strange and goes “If I were human... Maybe I, like in the photo...” before blushing and nope’ing.
Tumblr media
The photo pretty much makes Aigis think about actually being with Makoto. At this point in P3, Aigis is not yet capable of understanding her emotions. So, pretty much all of Makoto’s answers here are about helping her reach a conclusion.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then, Aigis says that she wants to protect him and adds:
Tumblr media
Given that Aigis equated physical closeness to heightened emotions and thus, to love, it’s pretty obvious that even at this point, Aigis was already developing feelings for Makoto. Though she was not aware of it, nor could she understand it. It’s even clearer in the Japanese version.
Then we pretty much get a parallel to their January scene, with Aigis stepping close to Makoto and asking him to allow her to stay by his side.
Aigis is, if I’m not mistaken, the only girl that gets an extra animation with Makoto: her stepping close to him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She also looks sad at the thought of finding a solution to their joint hands:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s also worth nothing that Aigis seems to show up most often to object to Makoto’s wedding with other girls. The only exceptions I’ve seen so far are his wedding with Naoto, where Kanji is the one to object, and his wedding with Rei, where it’s Zen (who does it out of concern for Rei without understanding that she was about to be wed to another man, much to Rei’s chagrin):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Strolls
Makoto was listening in to the girl-talk, and Aigis gives him away lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later, she accidentally makes it sound like he’s into shady business lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Extra: Zen/Rei parallels
I’ve said it before, but now that I actually played the game for myself, Zen/Rei was ridiculously similar to Aikoto. Like even more than I thought. Here are some of the bits that stood out to me:
> “I’ll always be by your side” vs:
Tumblr media
> “Being with you is my duty!” vs:
Tumblr media
> “Do you think I can do that? Do you think I can change?” vs:
Tumblr media
This could have literally been an Aikoto exchange:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Persona 4 Side
Battle Quotes
Makoto: Let's do this, Aigis! Aigis: Being with you is my duty!
Aigis: Let us begin, vice-leader! Makoto: I'm counting on you.
Aigis: You have sustained heavy damage. Recovery needed. Makoto: It's okay, Aigis. I'm not as weak as I was.
Makoto: Aigis! Are you all right? Aigis: Yes, I... must... stay with you.
Makoto (when Aigis falls unconscious): Aigis!! Aigis (when Makoto falls unconscious): I won't let you hurt him anymore!
Story
People think they’re dating here as well. Except this time, Makoto is also there to hear and yet he says nothing to object to people assuming he’s with Aigis.
The one to object is actually Naoto, who points out that instead of focusing on that, there are other matters begging for their attention (Aigis herself lol).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later in a dungeon, Aigis says that Junpei has requested to be treated better than a grasshopper. And Makoto plays along with:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the last Dungeon, he stops a sad Aigis from dwelling on the subject:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Strolls
There was this cute exchange with Koromaru:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later, Aikoto actually get a stroll of their own, “Aigis’s Morning Call”. What’s more, it’s the only Makoto-focused stroll on the P4 Side.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can watch the entire stroll HERE.
Wedding
Yu’s possible wedding with Aigis is actually filled with Aikoto lol If I’m not wrong, she’s the only romantic interest that does not fall for the other MC at all.
HERE’s a comparison with some of the differences between her lines to Makoto and her lines to Yu.
Some of the highlights are:

Thoughts on Fruits Basket 2019 Episode 19: “I’m So Sorry!”
You know, considering how apprehensive I was going into this episode since I knew what it was going to cover, I gotta give them credit for how by the end of it I actually really liked the little things they did to flesh out this part of the story, even if they only had so much time to work with.
I think this is gonna be a divisive episode for a lot of reasons, including the fact that some manga fans might not like that they toned down the comedy [relatively speaking] and fleshed out the character interactions more, but one way or another I think they did a nice job with it.
Anyway, thoughts under the cut [and spoiler warning for the whole manga]
I didn’t expect this episode to give me a whole lot to talk about [in terms of positive stuff, at least] since Ritsu’s intro arc was always kinda short and simple, but they actually made a fair amount of edits to how the whole episode played out. It’s still the same length and covers the same basic plot beats, but with a different sort of execution compared to the manga.
Specifically this adapts chapters 44 and 45 of the manga, though technically Ritsu first appears at the very end of chapter 43. And there was a fair amount of stuff that was cut or replaced in this episode, mainly the couple of scenes with Yuki and Haru that were there to follow up on what happened in chapter 43. Since that hasn’t happened yet in the anime, obviously it had to be cut. I think we’ll be seeing that whole part of the story happen near the start of season 2 at this point, since they definitely don’t seem to be planning to introduce Rin in this season. So in that sense at least this episode played out similarly to how it did in the 2001 anime [where Ritsu’s intro was in episode 23]. But there was also a lot of stuff changed outside of that, which made this more of an entirely unique version of this part of the story.
Basically most of it boils down to how they edited the whole flow of events to give Mitsuru [and her interactions with Ritsu] way more screen-time and focus, which I think was exactly what this episode needed. In the manga their interaction in this whole part is literally just contained to one page worth of dialogue at the very end, and it only vaguely sets up the idea that they might have stuff in common. And for the record, at least in the manga, that’s also basically the only time they ever interact in the story to begin with. After this I don’t think we ever see them again at all outside of one bonus comic page that, at least in the collector’s edition, is compiled at the back of the final volume along with some other bonus material. Both Mitsuru and Ritsu kinda vanish from the manga after this point, and then right near the end we suddenly get told that they’re dating and it’s all just kinda weird and unexpected.
Maybe it’s just the writer in me who likes nerding out about this kinda stuff, but I thought it was really neat how elegantly they managed to incorporate Mitsuru into how almost all of this episode, and how they used some of the scenes from the manga that they cut as inspiration for the more original scenes here. Like how the scene with Ritsu freaking out about cereal and spilling milk everywhere got replaced with him spilling coffee on Shigure’s manuscript. I also liked how instead of having a scene near the end with Tohru and Ritsu talking in private, we got to see Ritsu and Mitsuru talking about the same sorta stuff.
The other really big change, which lead to how they could more or less cut out that one scene between Tohru and Ritsu, was how they heavily fleshed out the scene with Ritsu about to jump off Shigure’s roof by basically inserting his whole talk with Tohru into it, which I think worked surprisingly well. Some manga fans might dislike how it made the scene less comedy-focused, but I think it worked well. I did think it was kinda unintentionally funny how it reminded me that Tohru keeps finding new and exciting ways to fall off, or nearly fall off, dangerously high places, lmao.
I’ve seen some people say that it felt too over the top and melodramatic in a way that made Tohru feel too much like an unrealistically perfect therapist, but honestly that’s just kinda how this part of the story always felt. Tohru’s whole conversation with Ritsu about the meaning of life and whatnot always felt like the part where Tohru’s place in the story felt the most forced. But with the amount of characters the premise of this series demands introducing, it’s commendable that most of the parts where Tohru basically serves as the Soma family therapist don’t feel this way.
It probably doesn’t help that the reboot shuffled this around in the timeline so that it’s right in the middle of two other arcs about Tohru meeting a new Soma family member. This episode coming immediately after one as good as Kisa’s episode really set it up for failure in a lot of ways, lol. But ultimately I think it was a good idea to move this where they did. It makes sense that they’re trying to rearrange things so that all of the zodiac members except for Kureno and Rin get introduced before the end of season 1, and this is the best place in the season to put this episode. I think it at least works a lot better here than it did in the 2001 anime where it happened literally right before the Kyo arc, right near the end of the season, which was just a really awkward place to put it all around.
In terms of other stuff that got changed/removed from the manga, they cut out a whole bit with Hatori getting called over to bandage Tohru’s hand after Ritsu broke a cup and she ended up getting cut, though honestly I’d kinda forgotten about that whole scene so I didn’t even notice it was gone. And along those same lines, I guess they also cut out the minor detail of Ritsu spraining his ankle on the roof and it having to also get treated by Hatori, since they had Tohru have a much more dramatic fall on the roof instead.
Like I said, basically every single scene with Mitsuru was anime-original since in the manga she only really appeared in that final scene, and even that got fleshed out a fair bit in this episode, so that we actually got to see them becoming friends, and they both had the same sorta monologue to tie everything together. Which did a way better job than the manga ever did at setting up their relationship, lol. It’s still kinda forced, but it’s not the gaping void of nothingness that it was originally.
Another thing they changed, which I didn’t even notice until I checked the manga again afterward, was that Ritsu was wearing his kimono throughout this entire episode, whereas in the manga he switches to wearing a more masculine outfit immediately after Tohru finds out that he’s a guy. It honestly felt so natural to have him just keep wearing the same outfit the whole way through that I didn’t think anything of it.
Which finally gets us to the elephant in the room, the hornet’s nest, the can of worms, the grand king of controversy, that is Ritsu’s crossdressing.
I definitely think it felt a lot better in this version of events specifically because they at least let him still wear his kimono and his feminine hairstyle even after the ““““gender reveal twist”“““ without it being some sorta issue, but ultimately the way it’s handled still feels notably dated, and I definitely think there’s gonna be a lot of entirely new fans who immediately view him as being heavily trans-coded. Since he really is.
I feel like this should be fairly self-explanatory, but just to be completely clear, this isn’t a matter of “wearing feminine clothing must mean you’re a girl”. This is more specifically about how Ritsu’s crossdressing is framed completely differently to how characters like Momiji and Ayame crossdress. They just do it explicitly because they’re carefree and self-confident and don’t care what people think about them, and it’s not a particularly major or defining part of who they are as a character. But with Ritsu, it ultimately ends up being one of his defining points as a character if only because this is basically all we ever see of him, and the story goes to pretty great lengths to detail how his motivations for cross-dressing come from an entirely different sort of place. Instead of him doing it because he’s naturally confident enough to not care about societal judgment, he does it because it’s the only thing that *makes him* feel confident in himself at all. It’s shown as being pretty much the one and only thing that alleviates his crippling self-hatred. In particular I think the flashback to him trying on one of Kagura’s dresses as a child and having a moment of realization and euphoria really feels like a distinctly Trans Experience [tm] kinda thing. Not to mention the other flashbacks to how he felt ashamed of himself because his parents were constantly apologizing to other people because of how he is, which comes across even more strongly as being specifically tied to his gender expression since at least in the anime, he’s also wearing a dress in that flashback.
It’s also worth noting that in the manga they placed a fair bit of emphasis, especially in his big talk with Tohru, about how he basically ‘wants to pull himself together and stop needing to dress like a woman’, as if it’s some sort of emotional crutch he needs to move on from, and it seems like that basically got cut out. Which is for the better, I’d say. I’ve said before in relation to Momiji that I also disliked there how [in the long run] his own crossdressing is treated as something temporary that he’ll inevitably move on from, and it stuck out even more in the manga when we also got this whole part later which even more explicitly framed cross-dressing as a ‘phase’ that someone needed to move on from. I guess in a lot of ways it really says a lot about the subtly yet meaningfully different way Ritsu’s framed in the reboot, that he just continues wearing his kimono throughout the whole episode and nobody really talks about it after Tohru finds out he’s a guy. I much prefer this more neutral framing of ‘this is just how he dresses and that’s cool’ more than ‘this is something he needs to stop doing in order to grow up’.
It all still feels a little bit outdated even in this version of the story, but I think it would have been even more noticeably outdated and uncomfortable if they had kept all of that stuff from the manga too. So I’m glad they cut it out. They did technically add an original bit near the end with Mitsuru realizing that Ritsu isn’t actually a woman, but I think that was handled perfectly well. Her reaction was basically just ‘oh I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have made assumptions like that’, and him freaking out about it was basically just treated as him getting unnecessarily apologetic for something that isn’t a problem at all. Interestingly enough, I think that little scene between them was at least vaguely inspired by that aforementioned bonus comic page about them.
It’s obvious that it’s not like the reboot’s gonna retcon it so that he’s trans now, but I much prefer this take on his crossdressing compared to the manga.
I’m kinda curious to see if they’re going to do more with him as a character after this in the reboot, since Takaya’s said before that his lack of screen-time and importance is one of her big regrets. Though it’s honestly kinda hard to think of where they could even fit him in, aside from maybe the summer vacation arc. Ultimately he kinda suffers from not really being connected to any of the other zodiac characters, which makes him the odd one out who’s difficult to insert into scenes. I think they could probably at least do something with his apparent friendship with Kagura, though, since that never really got elaborated on in the manga.
I’ve always wondered if him getting sidelined after his intro arc in the manga had anything to do with the fact that his arc was the exact point where Takaya’s hand injury caused the series to go on hiatus. It’s not like we’ll ever know one way or another, but I wonder if the fact that his introduction happened to coincide with such a stressful and draining part of her life made her want to basically ignore him as a character afterward to try and forget about all of that. But who knows.
I do have a feeling that the fact that they edited and fleshed out this episode a fair bit compared to the manga might be because Takaya wasn’t happy with what she did with this arc originally, which probably had a lot to do with her hand issues. It might have lead to her not being able to put as much care and thought into this arc in the manga as she would have liked, so she might have even given the anime staff some pointers on how she wanted it to be improved.
Anyway, that’s a lot more than I expected to say about this episode, lmao. All in all I liked it way more than I expected, and I hope they can find some sorta way to give Ritsu more screen-time than he got in the manga.
And as we basically all knew would happen, it looks like next week’s episode will be Hiro’s introduction. I’m kinda curious to see how that goes, since Hiro’s the sorta character who I think is well written for who he’s meant to be, but it doesn’t stop me from kinda hating him as a person, lmao. At least to the extent that you can hate a preteen kid for being annoying and bratty.

Femoral Meeting - C12
One day after school, Ryuji stumbled as his broken leg was acting up, and because of that, he met one of Gekkoukan High’s former athletes. Kazushi Miyamoto.

Happy Birthday Ryuji!
Tumblr media
This fic is officially a year old now! Yes this was a fic intended to show Ryuji being a capable leader on his birthday. XD essentially BAMF RyuRyu. What better way to celebrate RyuRyu's birthday than to update this fic XD
------------
Saturday came, Ren and Ryuji donned the replica versions of their masks as they went out of the car Sae had drove them in.
Sae herself got out of the car as soon as she parked the car nearby and accompanied the two teenaged boys inside the Kirijo group offices.
“It’s nice to meet you Sakamoto-sama- “Kikuno greeted only Ryuji and prompted the others to introduce themselves.
“I’m Sae Nijima.” Sae introduced herself.
“Joker, just joker.” Ren introduced himself.
“It’s nice to meet you Nijima-sama, Joker-sama.” Kikuno greeted the other two.
“Yeah great to see you Kikuno-san.” Ryuji greeted back, now used to the maid’s way of greeting. “Is Kirijo-san available?” He asked in courtesy.
“Kirijo-sama’s expecting you three.” Kikuno nodded. “Along with the core members and a few their reserved members of the Shadow Operatives.” She added. “Please follow me.” She finished
The three followed the maid from the entrance to the elevator.
------------
As the elevator’s door opened, the four of them were greeted to a sight of a smiling shiba inu waggling his tail at them.
“Have they arrived Koro-chan?” Yukari’s voice asked.
The dog, Koro-chan, simply barked in response.
“Koromaru-san says that they’re at the elevator.” Aigis’s voice translated the dog’s barks.
“For real?!” Ryuji expressed his bewilderment. “One of them can understand the dog.”
“Your group regularly talks to a cat, how is that surprising?” Sae rolled her eyes.
“She’s got you there Skull.” Ren chuckled.
The foursome filed out of the elevator lead by Kikuno, followed by the lawyer and then the boys who were still wearing the masks.
“Lady Mitsuru, your guests have arrived.” Kikuno announced.
“Thank you Kikuno, you may continue to your duties.” Mitsuru dismissed her maid as she approached her guests.
Kikuno bowed then gestured at the vacant couch and left the group to their discussion.
------------
“For real?! A dog’s a Persona –user?!”
Ryuji was taken in with Koromaru’s charm that he gently approached it and began petting the dog. “Who’s a good dog?” He cooed. “Who’s a good Persona-user?” He continued on. “You are, you are.”
Koromaru just wagged his tail and let himself be pet by the new arrivals.
Sae and Ren just looked at each other in amusement.
“Is that really so surprising Skull?” Ren chuckled. “I mean we have a cat as a Persona –user.”
“Well there’s a bear too.” Junpei chimed in.
“For real?!”
“A dog, a bear and now a cat,” Akihiko commented. “Can’t say I’m surprised.”
“To be fair, the bear was a shaped like a mascot rather than an actual bear Akihiko-senpai.” Yukari chimed in.
“I thank you for inviting us to talk regarding this special circumstances Kirijo-sama.” Sae bowed in gratitude, a gesture in which Ryuji and Ren followed as the rest of the Shadow Operatives stopped speaking and turned their attention to their guest.
“And we thank you for coming to shed some light regarding the stealing of hearts.” Mitsuru herself reciprocated the gesture, followed by everyone else.
“In any case.” Mitsuru smiled at her guests. “Please take a seat.” She gestured to the conference table behind her.
------------
“I see.” Mitsuru nodded. “This does line up with the recent findings about cognition by Wakaba Isshiki.” She continued. “She called it Cognitive Psience.”
“You know of Wakaba Isshiki?” Sae questioned.
“Yes.” Mitsuru nodded. “She was one of our best researchers.” She sighed. “We’re still wondering why she committed suicide.”
“Isshiki-san’s death was huge blow to Mitsuru-senpai.” Yukari revealed. “She blames herself for her death, because of the nature of the research.”
Ren and Ryuji looked at each other.
“Shido’s associates has barred the Shadow Operatives or anyone working for the Kirijo group from approaching her daughter.” Akihiko continued the story as he stood behind the Kirijo. “Mitsuru here opted to send compensation for the young girl.” He added.
“A Youji Isshiki was the one who claimed to have adopted her daughter.” Aigis stated.
“The eff!” Ryuji shouted. “Why’d you give that douchebag some money?!”
“Skull calm down.” Ren chastised his masked friend. “We’re here to talk, not to shout.”
“What’s wrong?” Ken questioned.
“Joker, its best that you take this one.” Sae prompted.
“Futaba Isshiki has been passed around by uncaring relatives ever since her mother’s death.” Ren revealed. “Up until Youji Isshiki got his hands on her.” He added.
“That bastard did not give Futaba a bathe or even a bed.” Ryuji growled.
“Afterwards, someone did adopt Futaba, but at a cost.” Ren continued. “Her adoptive father was forced to pay her uncle a part of Futaba’s inheritance.” He finished.
“And how did you know of this?” Yukari questioned with narrowed eyes.
“She wanted us to steal her heart.” Ryuji answered.
“We used our resources to and checked on Isshiki-san’s brother-in-law.” Fuuka piped into the conversation. “His records were clean, so we trusted him and gave him the compensation money.
“In any case, could you give us any information where to send money to?” Mitsuru asked. “I think it’s time that Wakaba Isshiki’s orphaned daughter receive the compensation that was owed to her.”
“She goes by Futaba Sakura now.” Ren informed the group. “Just send it to my probation officer, he was the person who adopted her.”
“I see.” Mitsuru merely nodded.
“Whatever happened to her uncle anyway?” Akihiko questioned. “I’ve been away from Tokyo for some time and I’m largely ignorant to what has happened here while away.” He justified his question.
“He was arrested for embezzlement.” Aigis answered. “He went to the police and asked to be arrested for theft and embezzlement.” She explained the circumstances of the arrest. “I think your group has a hand in his change of heart?” She turned her attention to the male guests.
“Yes.” Ren answered confidently.
“Is it safe to assume that Futaba Sakura is also a Phantom Thief herself?” Mitsuru asked another question.
“We’re not going to confirm or deny that assumption Kirijo-san.” Ren immediately answered.
“I hope you understand their wariness from divulging information Kirijo-sama.” Sae apologized. “A lot of Shido’s associates are still at large and we would like not to repeat the circumstances of Joker’s arrest last November.” She finished.
“Of course.” Mitsuru nodded.
“You know Mitsuru-senpai.” Ken began.” You could’ve sent me to Tokyo when this was happening.” Ken voiced out. “I’m only a year older than Sakamoto-kun and I could’ve approached Isshiki-san’s daughter with Shido none the wiser.”
“And throw you into the lion’s den?” Akihiko asked rhetorically. “Fat chance!” He declared. “I’m not about to do that and break my promise.” He continued. “Or anyone else for that matter.”
“Akihiko senpai is right kid.” Junpei chimed in. “Mitsuru-senpai can’t send you on missions like that kid.” He added. “And if she did, Yuka-tan and I’ll object once we find out about that.” He finished.
“Don’t get us wrong Ken-kun.” Yukari immediately added herself to the conversation. “This goes beyond your age.” She continued as she knelt beside him. “We know you can handle yourself, we knew that since you were ten.” She added. “But, we can’t, in good conscience, do that to you.” She sighs. “You almost lost your childhood because of our journey years ago, and that’s something we want you to enjoy.” She finished.
“Yukari is right Amada.” Mitsuru stood up and approached her youngest member. “Sending you on a mission is something we’ve ensured as a last resort.” She continued. “Besides the fact that we can’t send you on missions as you weren’t a member of the team.” She smiled.
Mitsuru then retrieved a small pin from one of her pockets and showed it to Amada.
“Welcome back to the team Ken Amada.”
“Wait, if you weren’t going to send him on missions.” Ryuji voiced out. “Why’d you send him when shadows roamed our school?”
“And moment ruined.” Ren chuckled.
“It pains me to admit.” Mitsuru sighed. “All of us were indisposed when the event took place.” She confessed.
“I was out of town for one of my team’s games.” Junpei chimed in.
“I was in the middle of a shoot.” Yukari explained.
“Fuuka-san and I were busy with repairs and updates for my body and my sister’s.” Aigis explained. “Although Mitsuru-san and Fuuka-san were able to provide navigational support from where we are.” She added.
“Sister?!” Ryuji questioned. “For real?!”
“I was busy with a case.” Akihiko stated his reason as everyone else ignored Ryuji’s outburst.
“And I was swamped with paper works and potential work around with Shido’s incarceration.” Mitsuru stated. “Then our efforts were focused on finding the place where the phenomenon originated.” She added. “I had Yamagishi and Aigis help me with the finding the aptly-named Dark Box, and close it.” She explained. “As you were attacked by shadows that went berserk.”
“The timing was impeccable honestly.” Ken voiced out. “As it stood, I was not only near the place, but I was in Tokyo for the time being.” He added.
“We were forced to send Ken-san and aid you in battle.”
“And we can’t thank you enough for saving my team’s life.” Ren bowed in gratitude.
“I have one more question.” Yukari voiced out.” Why’d you decide to conceal your identity Amamiya-kun?” She asked. “We already know you were the leader of the Phantom Thieves due to your arrest late last year.”
“Who’s Amamiya?” Ren inquired
“Go ahead Yamagishi, show them.” Mitsuru sighed.
Fuuka merely nodded and pressed a button and showed the screen showed two images. One of Ren Amamiya and the other was of Joker taken from the broadcast of Shido’s calling card.
“While the mask obscures the full view of your face, it is undeniable that your hairstyle, hair color and even the bottom part of your face matches that with that of Ren Amamiya’s.” Aigis narrated. “It is safe to assume that Joker and Ren Amamiya-san are one and the same.”
“Besides.” Mitsuru started as she walked behind Aigis. “You were already labeled as Joker during your arrest late last year.” She finished.
“Great deduction.” Ren chuckled as he removed his mask let it sit on top of his head
“Thank you.” Mitsuru voiced her gratitude. “We wouldn’t have been able to without the help of the first detective prince and Aigis here.”
“You’re welcome, Mitsuru-san.”
“Joker?” Ryuji questioned. “Are you sure?”
“What’s the harm?” Ren shrugged. “My identity was already compromised last year.” He smiled.
Ryuji nodded as he too removed his mask and sit it on top of his yellow locks.
“Is it safe to assume that everyone in this photograph are members of your little group?” Akihiko handed Sae a photograph.
The photograph in question showed seven teenaged people with five of them in two different school uniforms and the other two civilian clothes. The teens were in front of Japan’s Diet Building looking very distinct despite the number of people in the background.
“What about this one.” Akihiko handed Sae another photo.
The second photo had the same group of teens in the first image but this time they were by a van and were wearing their casual attire.
“I’m going to repeat my answer earlier.” Ren started his reply. “I am not going to confirm or deny those assumption.” He finished.
“Why the secrecy kid?” Junpei voiced his question. “Won’t it be easier if you confided your status as Persona-users to us, the Shadow Operatives?”
“Would you be able to guarantee their safety from Shido’s associates that remain at large as we converse?” Sae questioned. “Would you be able to protect these children the danger and risks with having their identities divulged?”
“Your younger sister was attending Shujin when the Phantom Thieves operated. Wasn’t she Nijima-san?” Akihiko voiced out.
“Yes.” Sae answered immediately. “I’m confused as to how that relates to my earlier question.” She admitted.
“I just find it suspicious that you’re incredibly defensive towards the Phantom Thieves’ identities.” Akihiko voiced out as he crossed his arms. “Especially considering that she’s also in those photographs I presented.”
“They are my clients.” Sae replied dryly. “It is in my best interests to have their safety in mind.” She continued. “Especially considering that Shido and his associates would literally kill children to further their ends.” She finished.
“Be that as it may.” Akihiko resumed. “If your younger sibling is indeed part of the group.” He continued. “You yourself have a personal stake if her identity is revealed.”
“Officer Sanada, I ask that you be careful with your next words.” Sae threatened. “I could have you charged with slander.”
“Akihiko, enough!” Mitsuru barked. “We can’t have you jailed for voicing out evidence-less accusations.” She chided her employee. “To answer Nijima-san’s question.” She turned her attention to the still-calm lawyer. “Yes, I can guarantee their protection.” She declared. “The Kirijo group can.” She finished.
“Big words considering Shido had your hands tied when the time Phantom Thieves operated.” Sae fired. “Not to mention how you took the back seat when Wakaba Isshiki’s daughter was orphaned and passed around and abused by her uncaring and greedy relatives.”
“You misunderstand Nijima-san.” Mitsuru stated. “I said that the Kirijo group can guarantee their safety and not the Shadow Operatives.”
“What’s the difference?” Ryuji voiced out.
“As I understand, the Shadow Operatives is a subset of the Kirijo-group of companies considering you’re the one leading it.” Ren continued.
“While that is true.” Mitsuru nodded. “The Kirijo group is not affiliated with government in the same way the Shadow Operatives are.”
“You just said that the Kirijo group is prohibited from interacting with Wakaba Isshiki-san’s daughter.” Ren pointed out.
“That was different matter Amamiya.” Mitsuru informed. “Wakaba Isshiki’s circumstances do not relate to the work we do here in the Shadow Operatives.” She finished.
“Regardless, our stance still won’t change on the matter.” Sae stated with finality.
“Mitsuru-senpai, Akihiko-senpai, I suggest we let this go.” Yukari voiced out. “I can understand why they are apprehensive with such an offer.” She added.
“These kids were exploited and abused by adults.” Ken inserted himself into the conversation. “Adults in power mind you.” He emphasized. “They still need more proof in order for them to trust us.” He continued.
“And saving them from shadows wasn’t enough?” Junpei exclaimed. “We’re trying to make sure that they won’t lose someone from their group like we did!”
“Junpei!” Yukari shouted. “Not the time!”
“I’ll escort them downstairs.” Ken volunteered.
“You go do that Ken.” Akihiko nodded.
“One last question.” Mitsuru declared. “Do you wield multiple Personas Amamiya?”
“No.” Came Ren’s immediate answer.
“Yamagishi.”
Fuuka nodded as she pointed her evoker on her head.
“What are yo-!“ Came Sae’s immediate reaction.
“They’re not in danger Nijima-san.” Ryuji cut off the lawyer’s immediate reaction. “I’ve witnessed this beforehand.” He explained calmly.
“Is this how they summon their Personas Ryuji?” Ren asked as he looked at Fuuka with worry and amazement.
“Yeah, it’s kinda edgy.” Ryuji shrugged. “And kinda dark too.”
“Juno!” Fuuka called out.
A humanoid figure with a dome-like skirt appeared with Fuuka inside said dome. The figure in question was covered in red cloth all around with a pair of wings.
“Amamiya-san has Personas from twelve different arcana two of them are from the Fool and Justice Arcana.” Fuuka relayed the information she got. “The Fool Persona is the same Persona seen above Shinjuku on the 24th of December last year.” She finished.
The three guests looked at each other in bewilderment and fear.
“So they could really use their Personas in the real world.” Ren commented. “That’s rather frightening.”
“So that’s a Persona?” Sae asked her companions. “That’s a frightening ability.” She concluded. “And you say you can harness elemental attacks when you summon them?”
“I’ll explain in the car.” Ren replied then turned his attention to the Shadow Operatives. “Yes I can wield multiple Personas.”
“I see.” Mitsuru sighed. “Amada, please escort them to their vehicle.” She ordered.
Ren, Ryuji and Sae looked at each other and followed Ken towards the elevator.
As soon as Ken and the guests were on the elevator, Yukari glared at the Iori. “You were out of line Junpei!” She chided. “Could you stop being a man baby for once and think of others than yourself?!”
“So you’re saying I’m being a baby?” Junpei fired back. “I’m a baby for suggesting that they confide with us and make their lives a bit easier.” He rolled his eyes. “Sure I’m being a baby.”
“Yukari! Iori! Enough!” Mitsuru yelled.
This promptly stopped the two from arguing any further.
“Iori, I understand where you come from.” Mitsuru stated somberly. “We sacrificed a lot during our journey.” She added. “But we must also put ourselves in their shoes.” She sighed. “They’d be uneasy if they did reveal their identities to us.”
“How come?” Fuuka asked.
“Remember how they regarded Akechi, someone who has been on their team for a short while, with spite?” Akihiko answered. “He was their Ikutsuki, so to speak.” He explained.
“I don’t follow.” Junpei’s eyes narrowed.
“Akechi-san has betrayed Amamiya-san and Sakamoto-san and every one of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts during their time together.” Aigis helpfully supplied.
“Akechi was employed by Shido during his time in the Phantom Thieves.” Mitsuru continued.
“Shido-san is the big shot politician and a representative in the National Diet of Japan.” Akihiko added.
“I see.” Yukari’s eyes narrowed in realization. “Considering our affiliation with the government, they think the possibility of getting betrayed is high.”
“Perhaps Labrys could convince them.” Fuuka pondered.
“One question.” Aigis spoke up. “What did you hope to accomplish when you asked if Amamiya-san was a wild card Mitsuru-san?” She asked.
“Nothing Aigis.” Mitsuru answered as she sat back on her chair. “Something I just wanted to confirm.” She continued. “And who to look for when things would go dire if you and Narukami would be indisposed.”

meta topic: biggest vice!
meta topics! | accepting
Karin’s biggest vice is easily her aggression, which is a result of her inability to express her emotions properly. However, I’ve talked about this at length before, so I’ll pick out another one to go over ( because she does have more than one )!
Her second biggest roadblock, I think, is her pride. She has this intense need to put forth this tough front because of her past, because she feels that this is how people view her. Because of her history with fights going on at school, she assumes that adults and perhaps other students are going to be weary of her, and because of how people would normally react to someone like that... she simply gives them what they expect; or at least, she tries to. It was likely her mother that instilled this kind of “don’t back down even when you’re bleeding” mentality, where she grits her teeth through any and everything no matter what because she does not want to concede defeat. No one’s corrected her before, so she must not be doing anything wrong.
This falls in line with her refusal to back down and urges to go ahead with potentially dangerous and stupid actions. ( An example being entering Tartarus by herself without telling Mitsuru, Akihiko, Fuuka or anyone and going on a Shadow killing spree without a single concern for the consequences, whether that be from the shadows themselves or from Mitsuru when she finds out that Karin had gone on her own. ) She thinks she can do it and get away with it, and thus, she does it with little thought. She overestimates herself on multiple occasions.
It might also be why she refuses to get any help for her mental complications. Karin can tell that she’s experiencing something that’s different from “normal” people, but she decides not to do anything about it. She knows that something’s wrong with her ( which is also a paranoid over-exaggeration on account of her undiagnosed depression and anxiety ), but lets it fester until it finally explodes later in December. It’s partially her inability to swallow her pride and ask for help that leads to her dire situation. It’s only after this that she realized what she was doing and actually apologizes for her actions, which she hadn’t ever done up to this point.
Sure, afterwards, she has her moments of being a tsun stubborn, but she isn’t nearly as bad as she was when she was in high school.
