Civilization VI: Gathering Storm Cheats

Enable Console

Start by head to the following file location:

C:Users[USER NAME]DocumentsMy GamesSid Meier’s Civilization VI

Now, make a backup of the AppOptions.txt file. Open that file and scroll down to the [Debug] section of the file. Look for a line containing the following text:

EnableDebugMenu 0

Change the 0 in that text so that it reads 1, and start playing the game like usual. Then press ~ (TILDE, THE KEY ABOVE TAB) to access the debug console.

Easy Deity Win (Exploit)

You can win the game on Deity difficulty and score some easy achievements by taking the following steps:

Choose your civilization.

Create a custom game with only “Score Victory” checked, and change the turn limit to 1.

Load the game and choose the Found City option.

End your turn as soon as the option becomes available.

You win the match, just like that, and you will unlock numerous achievements. This works on any difficulty setting.

Reveal the Entire Map

Use a text editor to edit the “Config.ini” file in your Steam Apps folder or the “DocumentsMy GamesSid Meier’s Civilization 6” directory.

Find the “DebugPanel = 0” line and change it to “DebugPanel = 1”

Save and close the “Config.ini” file.

While playing the game, press ~ to display the debug panel.

Select “Reveal All” to reveal the entire map.

There are also other debug options you can enable.

Now you can easily access Debug Console in Civilization VI in-game. In order to activate it you just need to PRESS TILDE “~”. It will open a Debug Window, from there select “Reveal All” option.

Trading Glitch

When trading with the AI, you can use two major glitchs:

1- Give any strategic or luxury resources and as much gold per turn as possible, then click the option whatwill you give me for this?, the AI will break and will offer insane amounts of goldand gold per turn just for the resource.

2- Ask for whatever you want from the AI (cities included) and start putting gold (not gold per turn, only normal gold) untilthey accept the deal, then reduce until you’re as close as possible to the required amount, Ex: 25890 Gold of 26000 required, and click on the option make this trade equitable, this will break the AI and will ask an amount of gold per turn proportional to how close you were to the real price. (I bought 5 cities for 3 gold per turn and a jeans in emperor difficulty). This glitch can also be used in multiplayer matches that include AI, but will surely get patched soon.

Early Domination

If you want to enjoy Civilization 6’s battle systems, it’ll be best to pick up the Aztecs, Scythia, or the Spartan Greece. Aztecs allow your own territories to have more tile improvements as their Eagle Warriors convert slain units into Builder units. Meanwhile, Scythia’s units have bonuses against targeting wounded enemy units. Lastly, the Spartan Greece units generate Culture per enemy unit killed. Waging war in the earlier eras yields fewer Warmonger penalties, so feel free tosiege other Civilizations or City States if you need something from them. If you manage to take every Capital or wipe out every leader in the match, your Civilization will attain the laborious and difficult Domination Victory.

Camera keys

With Civilization VI now out in the wild, one of the biggest gripes is the camera control not being mapped to WASD. The good news is that camera keys can be changedwith some simple file editing. Rename Cities

1) Go to the Civilization VI installation folder – C:Program FilesSteamsteamappscommonSid Meier’s Civilization VI.

2) Go to Base > Assets > Text > install language – ..SteamsteamappscommonSid Meier’s Civilization VIBaseAssetsTexten_US.

3) Then open the file named “CityNames_Text.xml” with any text editor, then search for the city/civilization that you want to rename. Change the name there and save. Once you are all done reload the game and you will find your city name changed.

Disable Unit Auto Cycle

Go to ..UsersDocumentsMy GamesSid Meier’s Civilization VI

Then open “UserOptions.txt”

After that go to “line 60” then change “AutoUnitCycle 1” to “AutoUnitCycle 0”

Save the file “UserOptions.txt”

Once you are all done then save (Ctrl + S)

Count: First met him when she was “adopted” by the bunch of vampires. He was offering to give them residence, but they all turned him down. Met him again when she was touring the world alone and made him an acquaintance, they became really good friends after that.

Leonardo: Met him when she was touring in Italy with Count. He kept treating her like a small child (still do), and they would drag each other like how he and Count would. He likes messing up her hair, she likes stepping on him when he’s asleep. Also a pair of good friends.

Arthur: Arthur was interested in Salvie and find her dominating personality challenging, but he knew well enough not to lay a finger on her. You just don’t simply go against someone who could lop off your head and had associations with the mafia. On the other hand thou, they were drinking buddies, and sometimes Salvie would pick up girls with him. They gamble a lot together too.

Dazai: They have an odd relationship. It might be because they’re somehow similar in a way, they know what line not to cross. They just have this weird bond that no one can put a finger to determine what it is.

Isaac: They don’t really talk much, she only knows he really likes apple from what she heard from Dazai, but that’s probably a lie…

Theodorous: God how Salvie loves to tease and sass him. Much like Leo, they would banter every time they met, but Theo always ends up leaving, flustered. He was too young compared to her, maybe a couple more years and his bantering skills might improve. They weren’t really on good terms, especially with how Salvie was involved with Shakespeare and the goddamn mafia, plus how close she and Vincent is.

Vincent: Pure, innocent baby boy. “I’ve only met Vincent for 15 seconds and if anyone hurts him I’ll kill everyone in this room and then myself.” Absolutely adores him and prefers him over Theo. Salvie admires how innocent he was, and that nature of him would always make her worry about him. She will also give him everything he wants or needs, just to see him smile.

Sebastian: When Count first brought him to the world, she was intrigued by the human who managed to charm him. So she would frequently visit just to see how Sebas works… Until he starts digging her information. She knew his passion well and understood that, but she would prefer if Sebas exclude her from his mysterious notebook.

Napoleon: Salvie was very interested in him, being a demi-vampire, but she does not question him about it. If he isn’t willing to say, then she had no reason to pry. Along with Jeanne, the three of them practiced sword fights from time to time. Salvie would always be fascinated by both of their skills. You could say that their relationship is quite well.

Mozart: Salvie does not talk much with Mozart, but lowkey likes his performance. She would always attend a ball or an activity if Mozart is the one playing the piano. Salvie also finds his prickly attitude fun to tease, but would rather see Arthur tease him. They would only exchange words when it comes to music and that’s it.

Jeanne: Aside from sparring with him, Salvie also supplies weapons to him. She doesn’t question why, as that was the nature of her business. She couldn’t refuse too, since business is business, and he was a resident of Count’s, which she promised the dad before that she would sponsor his residents too, because he was a friend of hers.

Shakespeare: Basically (kinda) love at first sight. Both of them were born with chaos in them, and so they attract each other. She did not meet him when he became the first resident of Count, but she did hear about it. She met him in a ball. It’s a long ass story how they get together but yeah, these two dumbasses are doing fine and dandy as a couple, have their banters and bickers sometimes but all is well. Unless….?

PERSONALITY

Likes: Gambling, attending balls (especially masquerade balls), hunting, going off adventures with her beloved horse, sword fight, overly sweet stuff

Dislikes: Following a schedule/orders, getting treated like a feeble maiden/young child, proper meal, proper sleep

Strength: She’s superb at gambling and swinging her sword, mediocre at drinking, she aced in “not giving a shit”

Weakness: Hides her feelings a lot, tends to distance herself from people who know her to a certain degree, can’t sleep in peace ever

Personality: Let’s just start with: Salvie is chaotic. Very chaotic. Even the name “Salvatore” already tells you she spells trouble. She doesn’t like being bound by rules, schedules or anyone’s orders, she’s a free soul who decides every step. However, she isn’t reckless, each action she took is calculated and rationally think through, as she does not wish to take a step she regrets. That careful and meticulous approach made her seem wise–despite how young she looks–mature even. Well, but sometimes Salvie could be bratty too, since “her adorable looks is the biggest fraud” (quoted from Leo). She also has a bold personality, and that results in her sassing the great men fearlessly, yet that doesn’t mean she doesn’t respect them, in fact, it’s the opposite. She looked up to them greatly, as they were awesome enough to get their name engraved in history.

Her biggest charm is definitely her carefree attitude. She’s just, y’know, damn chill. Salvie doesn’t have a care towards anything, therefore her pronouns and attire choices. Although her easy-going characteristics is an appeal, it’s sometimes a flaw as well. It made it difficult to get along with her as the specifics about her is unclear. Since she was so chill with everything, it’s certainly hard to pin down what are her favourites and stuff. Contradictorily, that light-hearted manner doesn’t apply to people. She unintentionally looks after people, even if she doesn’t want to care, she would still unknowingly do something for them, like leaving them a cup of tea on the table every morning.

On the other hand though, kinda like Dazai, Salvie’s breezy and free demeanor makes it hard to grasp her true character, not mentioning the fact that she tends to sweep everything under the rug. She has a way with words that always, somehow, avoid the topic about herself, and that made her mysterious in a way. She was very quiet of her thoughts, especially things on her mind, rarely talking about her problems. She would tend to fend off questions about that with a gentle reassuring smile and a wispy attitude, as she disliked someone poking into her problems (and of course because she didn’t want to seem weak).

HISTORY

Backstory: Salvie was not recorded at any point in history, yet she was revived. She did not know why and did not question so. When she was first revived, she did not remember anything except her name. Dozens of questions were in her mind, yet there was no one to answer her. For what feels like an eternity, she wandered on the streets aimlessly until she met her kind. They were strong, independent, and raised her as if she was a newborn. Well, she was, kinda. The days gradually passed, and she too, came to understand that she had been reborn into a person–no, an immortal with unrestrained freedom, with unlimited time (not really, but you get the idea). As soon as she came to that conclusion, she bid goodbye to her friends, (guardians maybe?) and took a flight to achieve her dreams–to live how she wanted in her previous life.

Family: Salvie doesn’t remember (or rather, it was insignificant to her) her family in her previous life. She only recognized the group of vampires that took her in as her guardians.

Other history: How Salvie was involved in the mafia is… Well, chaotic. She was supposed to be on the tour with Count to Italy, to visit his long lost friend Leonardo, but along the way she somehow stumbled into an illegal gambling den, challenged the don (with very extreme conditions), defeated the don and accidentally become the new don of the mafia. After going through all the messy procedures, the news about a new mafia boss named “Lord Salvatore” quickly spread through Italy. His nature was depicted as cruel and ruthless as he gets anything he wants, and no one stands in his way. Yet what’s weird was that the “Salvatore Family” was rumored to be civilized and noble, as they were ordered that no blood should be drawn unless it was required to. You can imagine the horror on Leo and Count’s face when they heard about this, and the compliments from her guardians.

when they found out jane was on the way, it felt like they needed to suddenly grow up. her mom was ready to make changes, adapt to the new lifestyle. her dad, on the other hand, urged they rethink if this is what they want but he didn’t push for abortion.. he understood it was jane’s mothers choice to make and reassured that he would be there for the both of them no. matter. what.

but ??? the reality was he felt trapped by the idea of a child and he struggled to acknowledge and accept how quickly his life was flipping upside down and how he lost all control of it. he wanted to travel around europe ???? soak in nature, daydream and make art . but jane’s mom wanted to settle. instead of embarking on adventures after graduating, they decided to move to california.

things just seemed to fall apart like domino from then on. janes mom was lead astray.. thinking that what california would bring them was stability but instead, it was all chaos. they rushed to get married .. turned out janes father wasnt on good terms with his parents. he was irresponsible financially, put both his parents in huge debt, was blinded by his ego to ever realise his mistakes. lied constantly .. convincing janes mom that there’s light going forward. that once he finds a sponsor for his art .... once he sells his first piece ... once they see in him what he always saw in himself , he was going to make it right. and he reassured he would make it right for jane.

janes mom was so pathetically in love that she pushed through .. living in a sort of imagined world, believing that things were better than they actually were. and her dad was good at persuading that narrative. he would come home with a pocketful of cash and the bills paid. oftentimes, it was all an act. his art wasn’t selling and a lot of what he bragged about was borrowed or stolen. behind the curtain, he was absent and unmotivated. he would come home in the evening claiming that the whisky breath was celebratory but in reality, he was complaining to the barman two blocks away about how his life feels monotone .. like a french black and white movie.

the day of jane’s birth was a whole mess. her father decided to drive her mother to the hospital, knowing he had one too many. they were caught for speeding and while janes dad spent the night at a nearby station for driving under influence, her mom was at the back of a cop car, crying for one too many reasons .. jane decided to hang on for a little while longer and was born at 3am the following night. cradled in her mothers arms and her dads voice humming on the line

jane would only ever hear the romanticised version of this story from her mother. this ??? fucked up sense of security that no matter what, love conquers all. that love means supporting each other, loving each other extra when everything else falls apart. but truth is.. her mother was forced to give up her own dreams, lost all connections to her past, worked days and nights at a nursing home to support her family and pitch in to her husbands alcoholism while she’s at it. making excuses that jane was too young to contradict. all while the only source of happiness for her father was the haziness of his evenings, when he felt like floating and he could barely hold onto to his paintbrush. he was a stranger living in their basement .. more than he was ever a father

growing up, jane watched her mother mask her depression. carry empty bottles out from the basement, trying to hide it from jane .. it brought her shame. she was doing the same thing to jane that he was doing to her for all these years .. consistently expressing a certain attitude, this unwavering satisfaction for the life they are living and so ... it hardens. you start to believe it. except unlike her mother, jane was observant.. she had other lives around her to compare to her own, voices of reason that pierced through the skewed perception her mother drilled into her skull. when jane grew into her skin, she felt so ... disgusted and angry. she tried to pull her mother out of her fantasy but nothing worked.

through her high school years, she felt helpless .. her home life was a nightmare and she made every possible attempt to stay out of it for as long as possible. she took on jobs and extracurriculars .. stayed at her friends’ house until she couldn’t. and she would think.. think so hard, she would start crying. pushing her own problems away .. in her head, she would imagine herself in a different skin, a different place. it was the only way she could calm her breathing. only to have to battle the same thoughts the following morning

after graduating high school, jane went to community college for product management got a job offering after her placement at a big company and moved out shortly after ( and MOVED IN to medina... can i get a yee yee ) .. she got insurance for the first time in her life and eats too many of free pizza slices at work to save up on groceries every week <3

she doesn’t visit her parents bc she no longer feels like her mother is on her team. she’s lived a maddening and terribly draining life and living alone has brought her deserving peace.. although she’d rather keep contact with her mother to a minimum, its obvious that jane is her mothers anchor. if she feels as though her daughter is not fighting for her, she breaks down.. as much as jane wants to run away from her past, it always seems to catch up

if they are friends ... jane. will. talk. ur. ear. off. but probably not for the right reasons lol .. she has never been assessed by a professional, isn’t taking any treatment but she definitely needs it :( shes a chronic overthinker.. the voice in her head keeps chattering away most of the time which gets a little nauseating. she hates silence and feels like she needs to fill it with words. she often says the wrong things .. to the wrong people ... at the WRONG time and she is very aware of it. its the culprit for her self doubt and struggle to open up emotionally to the people shes close to. shes very critical towards herself, she micro analyses everything from the way she acts, the way she looks and what she says. shes also not a fan of confrontation !!!!!!!BUT!!!!!!!!!!!

she is a FIREBALL when she stands up for others. i dont know how she hasnt gotten into a physical fight yet. she would literally rip ur side mirror off ur car if u didnt wait for an old lady to cross the street. is intense in every possible way. if shes angry, shes angry and impulsive and out of control, when she is in love, she feels it in her bones and simultaneously wants to rip her hair out, when she’s passionate about something, she is persistent until she isn’t and when she loses motivation, everything feels bleak .. theres never any emotional balance, even though she fights so hard for it every day

likes sci fi movies .. literally when they are Floating in space ???? SIGN! JANE! THE! FUCK! UP! letterboxd is probably her favorite app. sometimes she will post a review, read it over and over, find something wrong with what she said and then delete it. shes very neurotic. she either has good days where she can comfortably be herself or bad days, when it feels like everyone is judging her every move when in reality. ... it is always .. all in her head.

and she is mostly in her head. she creates fantasies of her life, relationships platonic and romantic and as a result, nothing ever seems to measure up. she feels secure in her fantasies but oftentimes when it hits her that they are just that, fantasies, she ... feels really alone.

BIG LONG POST of bakunawa boy world building under the cut sponsored by the fucking star of an anon who sent me so many mcfucking incredible asks about this au world

ohhhhh gosh i love this so so much. language is a huge interest of mine and seeing this progression of it is FASCINATING. “fog” used as the term is so fitting because supernaturals, most probably werewolves, since theyre the most common, would describe the feeling not as a loss of control, but instead like things are just...a little harder to completely focus on. and when the focus slips, other older, more magical things ring out a bit clearer, and they would follow.

moonlust would ABSOLUTELY be deemed offensive because it implies not only the loss of control but like. the sexual tinge to it would make people >:(. the moon is a very important figure for many supernaturals and while it isnt worshiped, it’s definitely respected. that big rock in the sky takes care of us, do NOT say that to it. (possible meme: dont fuck the moon)

since only werewolves come up in my head when i think of creatures that shift at full moon, this term is totally used by literally anybody who is even remotely affected by the moon. sea spirits, harpies with owl blood, and of course the bakunawa. not everybody really agrees with the implications of moonfog though. there are a bunch of spns that describe the moon’s magic as something that makes everything even clearer (sea spns mostly).

for michael, he finally gets what moonfog means when he first manifests. it’s hard to think straight when the rumbling in your head is louder than ever.

i still cant get over “fogged” tho. it’s sounds close to fucked so “DONT TALK TO ME IM STILL FOGGED UP” hjskdfdsfsdhhh

guhhh i wanna disagree with the implication that spns go berserk and kill humans tho. only because if this were true, this world would probably be a lot more dystopian. i want things to be slightly okay so:

spns rarely ever go “berserk” these days and youre kinda a dick if you still believe spns are big scary monsters. i figure a lot of aggression existed back in ye olden days, because magic is powerful and passionate and righteous, but all those things remained while the aggression diluted. prolonged and generally peaceful co-existence with humans does that. that being said, HUMANS R STILL DICKS

there are always complaints coming from spns about human neighbors not following regulation, but theyre usually handwaved away if youre in a human majority community. if ur lucky, maybe the human will get told off. once in a blue moon, theyre fined. spns everywhere look into the camera like in the office.

same would go for basically...every thing that humans deem mundane and safe but are actually harmful for spns. the blanket statement is “how was i supposed to know that hurt them?” which is bs but also school’s would only really have a super basic intro to a handful of spn biology. spns are used to being the ones to have to adjust.

like a common for all spns is that conversation they have to have with every human friend about stuff that’s harmful for them. michael was a sweetheart explaining to jeremy because jeremy is awesome but everybody else? werewolves and vampires and the such kinda have it a little easier since their weaknesses are common knowledge but michael is Rare Boy. dragons hybrids are already uncommon the bakunawa? people cant even spell it right, much less know what sets michael off. he’s joked about having a business card. “hi im michael im a bakunawa and loud noises make me feel Very Afraid thanks for listening to my tedtalk” hkjhkjkhdd.

ohhhh gosh i love this!!!! especially the bit where like. sometimes it doesnt work.

the thing with spns and magic is that both are very heavily tied to nature. while magic in technology has made huuuge leaps in the past century, no witch/sorcerer architect can find a way to build anything thsat truly makes a spn feel at home like the real thing. spns totally get this and since not all of them are fucking loaded, they just make trips to wherever they have to be.

post-manifestation, michael starts driving to the coastline. he’s not allowed to stay for too long though. and he’s not allowed to go alone.

(the thing about the real thing sometimes is that the magic is so strong, you might not be able to say no to whatever it might say. the sea doesnt know how to stop calling its children. the magic doesnt know how to reel itself back.

so spns have to be the ones to adjust.)

hrmh okay so this is def a case to case basis. generally, after the confusion of the first shift/manifestation, spns would slowly get used to it. kinda like riding a bike: once you learn it, you cant unlearn it (i think. i never learned how to ride a bike, but thats what people say so).

ive referenced in previous discussions that spns with a shifted form find that part of them selves like a separate aspect in their head that they can hear/understand. in sunny’s bakunawa fic, Sleepsong, this is illustrated beautifully:

There was a voice in his head, grumpy and rumbly, telling him he should pull back. Too cold, too cold. Michael had ignored it, of course, because he’s seven years old, he can make his own decisions thank you very much

and this is like. That’s It. going off of this, when shifted, it’s more of the former!! spns are their usual self, but that spn aspect in their head is louder or holds more control. up to the person themselves on whether or not theyll follow it.

post-manifestation, it would take maybe two or three more full moons for michael to completely get a hang of the fog and not be a loopy mess. when he starts practicing shifting outside of the full moons (where he either involuntary shifts or feels the Great Need To Be Shifted), the instincts are a little bit more dulled since he’s the one in control and making choices. i hope that makes sense kjhkfjdhkfsd

“Alright kids, you’re all going on a surprise walk to the park with Grandfather,” Ellana calls out through the front door and Bull hears the rushing of feet and also the closing of doors, the dropping of toys, and also several voices going at the same time.

Half the kids are ready to go and be anywhere but inside the house when they could be outside and doing outside things and the other half are petulant about their current activities being disturbed.

Bull is pretty sure that Rocky’s meticulous re-arranging of his room’s clutter doesn’t have some sort of deadline but the kid is taking it all very seriously. Bull would be proud of that kind of time keeping if Rocky would apply it to generally more frequently considered things like homework and school projects or doing his chores around the house or even how often he should be changing his pajamas without Bull intervening and forcing him to stop wearing the same thing as he has for the past thirteen nights.

(“Rocky, that’s not a science experiment anymore, this is spite and I dont’ know what I’ve done to deserve this kind of treatment from you. I’m not going to beg because I like to think you respect me enough not to make me beg. But change your pajamas and put those in the laundry.”)

Bull turns back to focusing at the task on hand of sorting all of the laundry and figuring out who’s is what because the kids are weirdly finicky about it. They don’t mind sharing but the clothes have to start off in the right person’s closet, dresser, or trunk - or wherever it is the kids throw their clothes when Bull or Ellana isn’t looking. He’s seen the same shirt on four of the same children consecutively last week. Krem on Monday, Dalish on Tuesday, Mahanon on Wednesday, and then Grim on Thursday.

The shirt fits a little differently on each of them.

On Krem it was a little baggy and he wore it to school over a long sleeved shirt because it was going to be cold and he needed an extra layer. On Dalish it was a little short and she was wearing it underneath a jacket she got with her Saturnalia money. Mahanon was using it at home after he changed from his school clothes. Grim was wearing it as a normal shirt to school on Thursday.

The shirt, he’s certain, belonged to Stitches to start with.

Laundry with seven children who shuffle their clothes around without regard to fit or age appropriateness of said clothing like they’re trying to con you like they’re some sort of shell-game person at the pier is a surprisingly difficult task that requires a stupid amount of Bull’s focus and unwavering attention.

The last time he accidentally put a pair of Mahanon’s pajama pants with Dalish’s both children were sulking at him for two weeks.

Skinner and Dalish have also started making off with some of Ellana’s smaller more slim-fitted sweaters and t-shirts. Ellana’s clothes don’t yet fit the pre-teens by any measure, but the two girls seem to find it exciting.

Bull is in the middle of trying to figure out which of the older boys a sweatshirt he’s holding belongs to - it’s a toss up, really. Rocky’s kept his middle school sweatshirt, and Stitches and Grim each have one. He really should’ve made them each pick a different style of sweatshirt but he didn’t realize they’d grow to be so damn territorial about it. - when Ellana raps her knuckles on the laundry room doorway.

“You managed to get the entire brood out of the house without a fuss?” Bull asks, “Hey, is this Grim’s, you think? Or Stitches? Both of them keep their clothes pretty neat and don’t wear them out too hard. So I don’t think it’s Rocky’s. I should know. Rocky’s had his longer, but with the way these kids are using each other’s closets I’ve forgotten.”

“It’s Grim’s, Stitches’ sweatshirt was in the laundry last time,” Ellana says. “Are you close to done here?”

“Not even remotely,” Bull says, turning to her, “Why?”

Ellana’s face is very serious and she’s still fully dressed for the office. She hasn’t even taken off her blazer or her overcoat.

“We need to talk,” Ellana says, mouth pinched down at the corners.

Bull feels his lungs and guts clench and he nods, gently putting down Grim’s sweatshirt, flattening it carefully on the dryer and turning to face her.

Ellana nods her head towards the living room and Bull follows after her.

Krem and Mahanon had left their little elementary school homework packets on the coffee table. Grim must have been with them helping because Grim’s sketchbook is also present, closed and his pencil carefully placed on top.

Ellana sits down on the sofa, feet planted on the floor and she waits for him expectantly.

Bull slowly sits down next to her, hand on the cushions between them. She doesn’t take it.

Anxiety curls his guts into a knot that is somehow also in his throat and in his head, too.

“We tabled the discussion of more children last year,” Ellana says, “Before we moved to this house.”

A hundred things fly through Bull’s mind and a good majority of them are relief. His mind had gone to - not good places.

“Yes. You weren’t ready and I wasn’t really thinking about one,” Bull says, keeping his hand between them. “Is this something you want to talk over? Did something happen?”

Ellana nods, “Something’s come up. There was - there was a case. It didn’t end well. There was a child involved.”

For Ellana’s cases, there is usually a child involved. Ellana is one of the rare few in her firm who specializes in Family law. Solas and her aunt both handle criminal lawsuits and her extended family is a mix of everything else. The Evanuris firm has its fingers in many, many pots and they have many, many faces.

“Where is the child now?” Bull asks.

“Being held at a juvenile detention center - I - I don’t want to get into the entire thing, but he’s seventeen, Bull,” Ellana says, brows furrowed deeply, “And he has nowhere to go once they let him out. He doesn’t - he’s going to fall through the system, and I can’t let that happen. I don’t know what to do.”

“You want to take him in.”

Ellana’s face is a complicated tangle of fear and outrage and worry and anxiety.

“He needs someone to help him, he needs someone to guide him back onto the course that was taken from him. But I don’t - I don’t want to bring that here if it’s going to hurt the children we already have. I mean, we don’t have to adopt him, but we - I - could watch him. Sponsor him? I don’t know.”

Bull holds his hand out to her and Ellana takes it.

“I’d like to tell you yes,” Bull says, “But I need to know more about this situation. I need you to tell me about this boy because I understand your intentions and I understand that you want to help this kid. But I can’t agree to that even if it’s a good thing, not without knowing if this is safe before hand.”

Ellana nods, her hand is cold and clammy and Bull runs his thumb over her chilled knuckles.

“Is this something we can consider at all, though?” Ellana asks, snagging her lower lip on her teeth, “Is this something that is even a possibility? I know we have the room, but do we have - do we have the resources? Financially? Emotionally? Physically?”

“Financially we aren’t hurting and it would depend on what kind of costs this brings on. Does he need a therapist? Lots of medical attention? Tutors for school? Clothes, furniture, a phone, stuff for his own, absolutely. Rocky could share a room, but is this kid alright with sharing a room?”

Bull pauses, “How long are the kids out for?”

This is going to be a very serious discussion.

“Dad knows what I’m talking to you about,” Ellana says, “He’s good to have them past dinner, too.”

“Alright,” Bull nods. Depending on how things go they’ll need to ask the kids about their opinions, but not at this stage. He’s been through this before when he was bringing in other fosters and stuff. But that was before Ellana and Mahanon. That was before everything got - got got. “Let’s start with a name. Who is he?”

“Cole,” Ellana says, “His name is Cole.”

Taeyang White Night in Manila 2017 Experience

After 2 weeks of G-Dragon’s MOTTE in Manila concert, another BIGBANG member held a concert in Manila. This time, it is Dong Youngbae also known as Taeyang. Taeyang as I mentioned, is one of the members of BIGBANG under YG Entertainment and is known for songs like Wedding Dress and Eyes, Nose, Lips.

Last September 22 of this year, Taeyang brought his White Night concert in Manila held at Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City. The concert started past 8:00 in the evening as Taeyang himself said that it will be somewhat delayed since we will wait for other VIPs to come even if it is past 8pm.

Around 8:15 in the evening, lights were turned off and “White Night (intro)” was played as sign that Taeyang will be out and will start the concert in a few. Then the music for “Ringa Linga” was played and Taeyang came out from the stage giving all the hype to us, VIPs. Everyone was screaming up to the top of their lungs for Taeyang and singing to the heart’s content as “Ringa Linga” was being played. He was in all white outfit reflecting his title’s concert, “White Night.” After the song, Taeyang said, “Mabuhay! Yeah, Manila you ready? You guys ready? Okay, here we go.” Every VIP were shouting because we are so ready for Taeyang. ❤

“Body” and “Superstar” were the next songs, and every VIP was just having fun and partying together! And of course, he showed some of his dance skills again which made everyone amazed. During “Body,” we were jumping as he sings while for “Superstar,” we were waiving the crownstick with the beat of the song. For “Wake Me Up,” Taeyang was in a slightly elevatad stage at the middle and everyone was singing along with him. “Only Look At Me” and “Wedding Dress” were next, and usual everyone went crazy over the classic songs of Taeyang. Everyone was singing with him and our Youngbae showed his dancinig skills which of course, everyone loves which started all the screaming for him again.

After singing “Wedding Dress,” he had a little talk to us, PH VIPs. I’m not quite sure to some words he said but based on what I heard it is the following:

“Mabuhay! This is Taeyang, nice to meet you. What’s up Manila? White Night concert in Manila, I would like to say thank you for coming to the show. The first time I came to the Manila was for the BIGBANG Alive tour. Ever since then, I’ve been to Manila many times already. The people here are very passionate and amazing. And I am so happy to see you guys again. I miss you guys a lot. I miss you guys. I want you guys? You miss me? Did you miss me? Thank you, I miss you a lot.

I guess, I should talk about my new album. My album, “White Night.” Have you guys keep listening? I guess no one here who doesn’t know my album? Right? I hope not. *laugh* What do you guys think about my new album? It is good right? So tonight, you gotta here a lot of my new songs. Personally, I made most effort and fun making this album. I hope the messaged reached you and that ..

Tonight, should we play the next song? So you guys, can you guess what song is next? What song will be? *VIPs says random songs* The song is, the next song is amazing.”

During when Taeyang asked if VIPs missed him, every VIP was screaming “Yes.” and I really hope he feels that we really do miss our Youngbae. ❤❤

“Amazing” was played followed by “1AM,” “Naked,” and “So Good.” After singing those songs, he said to the crowd: “So now, I hope we gotta sing along the next song. You’all ready? I want you to sing as loud as you can, okay? Ready, let’s go!” And “I Need A Girl” was next. He sang the song in acoustic version first then followed by the original one. Everyone were going crazy since it was one of Taeyang’s best classic songs of all time! ❤

Next songs were from his recent album which were “Empty Road” and “Ride.” His voice was just so awesome. It really does feel that Taeyang ate his own CD because his voice is just so perfect.

And the stage that I liked the best was for the song “Love You To Death.” I just loved the stage where it seems there was a solar eclipse and Taeyang stood up at the middle. The effects were also great which made the concert more awesome!

Next song made every VIP teary eyed since it was “Last Dance” by BIGBANG. Everyone was really singing with Taeyang singing ‘Last Dance’ and I really do hope he knows how we miss the five kings. After the song, we chanted “Dong Youngae! Dong Youngbae! Dong Youngbae!”

He said: “You guys having fun? That song is you just head. That song is BIGBANG’s song. What song? How is the song when I sing it alone? How is it?Whenever I sing this song, I miss the BIGBANG members. You guys miss them too? I think the biggest happiness and enjoying my life is having my BIGBANG members. We were to perform our music and last for 10 years doing our music because of you guys. You guys have always been our side.

Did you guys like my concert? From the new performances? Hope you guys can… my music. That brings to much joy to me and I dont i would ever forget tonight. I love you. So, I have to ask what time is it now? *everyone tells different time to him* No one’s telling me the right time.”

The last song before the encore was “Darling.” He was again in all white outfit having white long sleeves. Everyone was singing with “Darling youuuu” and still cheering for him.

Every VIP were shouting “Dong Youngbae! Dong Youngbae! Dong Youngbae!” waiting for his encore and after a few minutes he was out with a new outfit.

For his encore he sang “Break Down,” “Good Boy,” and “Stay With Me.” Everyone was all hyped singing with Taeyang. Every VIP were singing loudly and chanting for him. It seemed the concert turned to a big party full of VIPs. ❤

“Bang Bang Bang,” and “Fantastic Baby” were up next and as expected, every VIP went wild with the two songs. Who wouldn’t be, right? Everyone was singing with Taeyang even the parts of other BIGBANG members. Even the fanchants were on point during those two songs. This just shows how VIPs truly miss BIGBANG. ❤

“Eyes, Nose, Lips” was the finale song for the White Night in Manila. Everyone was singing along with Taeyang again, as in word by word. It was an event worth to be part of and to witness it.

Again, no regrets in attending Taeyang’s White Night in Manila. The concert is worth watching and it was really fun! It is another concert that I will never forget and am happy to be able to watch it. Also to be able to witness Dong Youngbae having his first solo concert in Manila. ❤❤❤

To Dong Youngbae, VIPs will always support and love you (and BIGBANG too!). We will wait until all the five of you will comeback and be together again. VIPs will always be here until whenever! ❤❤❤

Rickey Thompson, a 23-year-old who knows how to use social media to his benefit, posted a video captioned, “When someone flirts with me.” In the video, Thompson delivers a hysterical and relatable monologue about the confidence and awkwardness he feels when someone flirts with him. The video, one of his now famous 21st-century soliloquies, has more than 2.7 million views.

“Oh, my God,” Thompson says, looking straight into the camera in his empty dining room. He runs his hands down his body, playfully laughs: “Oh, my God you’re flirting with me. You’re flirting with me. Oh. You like what you see? Well, baby, this is a gourmet meal. This is delicioso.” Then he purrs, pretends to bite something, roars and turns his back to the camera, almost as if in slow motion. “Oh my God, you’re flirting with me. Oh, my God. Watch. Watch me walk away.”

Thompson’s Instagram videos are short, usually no more than a minute, and to the point. They work well on platforms like Vine (now defunct) and Instagram that value bite-size spicy takes, rather than in-depth examinations.

And, as people regularly comment under his videos, Thompson is funny. Some of his videos are close-up selfies of his face with him delivering a judgmental or bragging monologue into the camera, while other videos are of him dancing alone. They can prompt an action: like, comment, share and sometimes all three.

Before having Instagram as a performance outlet, Thompson had theater. He grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, and despite being a “quiet and nerdy” teenager, Thompson said he loved performing in high school productions. On the advice of a friend, he joined Vine and started posting videos in 2013 when he was 17. Less than a year later, Kylie Jenner shared one of them.

“I was in class looking at my phone secretly, and I freaked out because I was getting many notifications,” Thompson said. Seemingly overnight he was “the most popular kid in school.”

When Vine shut down in 2016, Thompson had 2.5 million followers and he wasn’t sure he would ever regain that following. He tried posting videos where he reviewed and talked about fashion on YouTube, but wasn’t keen on making long-form pieces on the topic. He knew what worked for him: short, pointed videos. He started posting on Instagram, where he currently has 3.1 million followers, including Sam Smith, Miley Cyrus and Diplo.

And some of the posts have amounted to payment, in the form of sponsored content and ads. Thompson would not reveal how much he makes, but Amanda Bodenstein and Gon Carpel,his managers, said in a statement emailed to The New York Times that he “makes a comfortable living doing promotional posts, acting, making appearances and with creative collaborations.” As for future aspirations, Thompson, who lives in Los Angeles, hopes to do more acting.

He recently shared some tips on how he thinks about online content.

Be relatable: When people see a video of me ranting in my car or bedroom or closet they think, “Oh, I do the same thing!” I film all my videos on my phone. For the dance videos, I place my phone on the windowsill and press record. It’s very simple. And I used to film in my room but got sick of it, so I moved out of my room, but I’m still at home, not a fancy studio.

When I rant, people love that, especially if I’m ranting about a relatable topic, like dating or friendship or work. The more relatable a video is, the better. But I also love ranting. I really do. Instagram is my journal, and if I’m feeling angry I’ll go to Instagram. People are so happy to see me being myself.

Don’t overthink it: I don’t really do multiple takes. My ranting videos I can definitely do in one take, and for those, there’s no plan. I turn on the camera and talk, and it’s done. There you have it. Cute idea. Done.

Give the people what they want: I monitor my growth and views and comments and all that. It’s honestly so crazy. I cannot believe I actually have this many followers. It really drives me to do better and better. People love the ranting videos. People love the dancing videos. They say I have great moves. Seriously, a lot of people like them, and if I can put a smile on your face I’ll keep doing it.

But don’t “do the most”: I don’t have a strategy behind what works for my Stories versus posts. For me, what works in Stories [videos that disappear after 24 hours] works as posts [posts are online until deleted]. So there’s no need for extra posts or different kinds of posts. For the dancing videos, I choose a song that makes me feel good and go with it.

Acknowledge others in the content game: There’s a lack of realness on Instagram, so I love that people are starting to embrace their unique personalities. I feel like some people are lacking originality on Instagram, and that happens off Instagram, too. They see what’s doing well and say, “I’ll do that, too.” They’re just trying to follow trends, and you don’t need to do that. Be you. Do you.

Some of my favorite accounts to follow are my best friend, Denzel Dion (@denzeldion), Vena E (@yesimprettyvee) and Cardi B. I mean, Cardi made it out here being herself. I also love that people are starting to embrace their unique personalities. I love how Amber Wagner (@jstlbby) always will mess around and post an inspirational video, and Donte Colley (@dontecolley) too.

Add a bit of aspiration: I make sure that every time I make a video I have a good look on. It shows people your personality, and people are drawn to that. My look tells people that I’m funny and I can dress. Most of my looks are thrifted and inspired by my dad. I see old photos of him and draw from that. I’m obsessed with the looks of the ’90s and early 2000s.

Keep your eye on the big picture: As a kid growing up in North Carolina I was shy. I was bullied for being gay and being an extra-loud person. People would say, “You’re so annoying,” and pick on me for how I looked.

When I look back, I wish I could tell myself not to change myself. You will be loved for being yourself. Always keep your head up. I know that sometimes it’s going to be hard and you’ll beat yourself up, but your hard work will pay off. I went through it. I went through so many no’s.

Now I have my dream in my hands. And if people hate you for you, don’t listen. Focus on staying booked and busy.

Afterbirth+ will close the book on a 5 year journey that started out as a 3 month flash project i made with a friend (florian himsl) for fun. we had no real intentions to sell it, it was originally going to just be a sponsored flash game due to the fact i was worried people wouldn't be that into it, and we only spent a few months on it.

i never had any idea Isaac would become what it has, this little monster has consumed my brain for what feels like a lifetime and im at a point now where i can be happy with officially finishing the story and calling the Isaac project done.

but as sad as that may sound to some, this is really just the start of things to come. AB+ started as just a mini DLC of mod tools, but slowly ballooned into another game expansion with a bunch more added content... but still at its core the whole point of AB+ was to hand the game off to the community, who at this point knows the game better than i do.

this new year will be a changing of the guard so to speak, we will be giving over Isaac future to the fans and supporting the mod community as much as possible.

this year will be a year of the monthly “Booster pack”!

as you may have assumed, using mods wont allow for you to unlock new game content / get achievements. but we have come up with a way to bring the best mod content officially into the game via mini monthly updates to AB+ or “booster packs”.

(ill probably also join in the fun a little.. honestly i came up with a few neat item ideas during the last week of crunch that i need to see in game.. so maybe this whole “letting go” thing is a lie!)

so all you out there will get to experience a year of free user made content officially added, and all you modders will get a chance brag to the internet about your amazing design skills and unlock the biggest and most sought after achievement in Isaac to date, the “MY WORK IS OFFICIALLY IN ISAAC” achievement!

SO YOU WANT YOUR MOD OFFICIALLY IN THE GAME!?

so when making mods you can honestly do whatever the hell you wanna do, so dont let this post sway you from making a totally nutty mod with guns and Jesus and copy-written material that will put you in jail! but the following is a list of basic guidelines when it comes to content im looking for to be added in this years monthly “booster packs”.

Items-

theme tips:

this can be a difficult one due to the fact that most of the items in Isaac are based on personal items/themes from my own childhood but the best way to stay on theme when it comes to items visual design is to stick with these simple and effective Isaac tropes.

-gross items (bodily functions / liquids / solids / wounds)

-christian items (artifacts / rituals / etc)

-pagan / satanic / occultic items (artifacts / rituals / etc)

and the minor Isaac themes like fetal development, disease, dnd and general 80s nerd bullshit.

design tips:

Isaac has a few hard archetypes when it comes to items, its best to design around these specific groups.

-HP driven items: (items that use life as resource / contact damage stuff / items that like it when you take damage)

-Defensive items: (items that protect you / raise your hp / reduce damage)

-Tear mods: (items that change your tear behavior / add status effects)

-Resource based items: (items that effects pickups / generate things / use your resources in different ways / affecting shops)

-High risk reward items: (stuff like bobs brain / curse of the tower / cursed eye) (people may not like them but items like these are important too!)

-Mod items: (items that affect usable items / familiars / angel,devil rooms / shops / etc)

-Trinkets: (items that passively mod behind the scenes %s, effects and support a range of archetypes)

-Wild cards: (items that dont fit into an archetype but do interesting things none the less)

Enemies/Bosses-

im specifically looking for enemies that will be added as alts to existing ones. this makes them a lot easier to add so we dont need to include 100+ rooms specifically for each of them. they dont need to be like the enemy they are an alt of, but should roughly fit the theme/difficulty of said enemy you are making an alt for.

theme tips:

most of you should know these themes by now.

-most enemies should resemble Isaac in some minor way

-stick to Edmunds 6 Ds of Isaac visual enemy design: decaying, demonic, dead, dying, diseased and decapitated!

- again minor themes of fetal development, insects (decomposers) and body horror in general are always accepted!

design tips:

also im sure there are more than a few zelda enemies i missed out there.. just copy those! :\

Challenges-

it would be great to add a new challenge every month this year.. but they gotta be good!

challenges should force the place to finish the game in a unique / interesting / challenging way that you aren’t usually used to. theme doesn't matter as much on these, as long as the design is fun or new id be more than happy to add as many as we can over the year.

Misc-

im sure there are things out there we somehow missed that we can officially support. out of the box stuff, whatever works as long as it fits the theme and is a solid design im more than happy to consider it.

the best way for me to see your designs is to simply tweet me a gif or video of your mod in action, be specific though dont send me like 20 items or 15 enemies, just send me one of each that you feel is the best, then wait a month to send more.

the reddit page is also a great place to showcase your mods as well as get feedback and maybe even sync up with an artist or programmer you can partner with (romance?).

anyway i hope this was helpful, its a bit hamfisted but as the months roll by im sure we will find a smooth way to exchange ideas and ill keep updating the blog with new info as the year unfolds.
