It Won’t Break Me!
This song came on yesterday when Allaina and I were in the car. We were at a stop light. When she says: I’m the perfect person to go through this storm…. Lord the tears just started. The thing is I know what I KNOW about the power of prayer. My tears are tears of amazement at God. I am amazed at how everything I have prayed for is happening in perfect timing. Gods timing. There is a reason I…

The incredible physics of Simone Biles' Yurchenko Double Pike
The incredible physics of Simone Biles' Yurchenko Double Pike

Gymnastics is a extremely difficult sport, and not just extreme for Olympic athletes like five-time (so far) medalist Simone Biles. Physics is also quite difficult. Consider something seemingly simple, like a flip.
There will be some version of a run in the four women’s gymnastics trials: floor, bars, lap and beam. It is one of two types of rotations that a gymnast can do in the air. In physical terms, a flip is a rotation toward the foot around an imaginary axis that runs along the gymnast’s hips. For the second type of rotation, a turn, imagine an axis going from your head to your feet.
Maybe it’s easier just to see them. These two animations were created in Python. (You can see the code here i here.)
Trinket via Rhett Allain
Tumblr media
Trinket via Rhett Allain
A gymnast can perform these two types of rotation at the same time; that’s what makes the sport so interesting to watch. In physics, we would call this type of motion “rigid rotation of the body.” But clearly humans are not rigid, so the math to describe rotations like this can be quite complicated. For brevity, we limit our discussion to flip only.
There are three types of turns. There is a design in which the gymnast keeps the body upright. There is a lumbar, in which they bend at an angle of approximately 90 degrees to the hips. Finally, there is a tuck, with the knees stretched towards the chest.
What is the difference in terms of physics?
Rotations and moment of inertia
If you want to understand the physics of a rotation, you need to consider the moment of inertia. I know it’s a term that sounds weird. Let’s start with an example of ships. (Yes, ships.)
Suppose you are standing on a dock next to a small boat that only floats there and is not tied up. If you put your foot on the boat and push it, what happens? Yes, the ship moves away, but it does something else. The boat too accelerates as he moves away. This change of speed is an acceleration.

US TV satire has lost its edge
Inspiring/Shutterstock
For over twenty years programmes like The Every day Present, a political information satire manufacturing, have positioned themselves because the antidote to a cable information panorama favouring partisan theatrics and politics served as leisure.
Whereas their content material isn’t information within the conventional sense, TV satire exhibits have had the liberty to create a playful but vital type of commentary that’s unrestricted by journalistic conventions. Curiously, their output is commonly aligned with the values of high quality journalism follow, because it voices the considerations of residents and acts as a watchdog over America’s political and media establishments.
All this made TV satire a viable platform to supply commentary on presidential elections. The Every day Present’s Jon Stewart did simply that in his acerbic evaluation of the 2000 and 2004 campaigns. In keeping with The Washington Publish, Stewart’s monologues reduce by the election noise and supplied considerate and correct impressions of the marketing campaign. Consequently, the facility of satire was realised and its place as a severe contender within the wider realm of political journalism was established.
Stewart’s retirement from TV satire in 2015 left a legacy of participating political critique that has since been adopted by many different programmes. Quick ahead to 2020 and a really totally different political panorama and president. TV satire’s reporting of the election merely didn’t hit the identical spot and make the identical impression that it has previously.
A drained format
TV satire’s lacklustre election reporting is, partly, resulting from Donald Trump’s immunity to ridicule. Over the past 4 years, he has embodied a lot of satire’s central traits together with exaggeration, irony and stupidity. It has change into more and more tough for satirists to skewer him. Whether or not unintended or on objective, nothing, it appears, is extra ridiculous than the person himself.
As an alternative, hosts like Seth Meyers (Late Night time with Seth Meyers) and Trevor Noah (The Every day Present), spent a lot of their election protection lambasting Trump and perfecting their impersonations of him. However the impersonation shtick is drained and outdated. Whereas satirists would usually have their sharp critiques to fall again on, evidently this method has been hijacked by the cable information networks. Certainly, CNN and MSNBC have taken the president and his administration to job utilizing the identical profitable technique that TV satirists have been utilizing for twenty years: utilizing video proof to focus on political hypocrisy.
It appears that evidently TV satire has skilled an id disaster beneath the Trump administration. In keeping with the top author of The Every day Present, Dan Amira, it’s because sarcasm – considered one of satire’s important weapons – is now disarmed as a result of “customers of this model of comedy are so horrified by Trump that irreverence can really feel like betrayal”.
The stakes, he suggests, at the moment are too excessive. The enchantment of TV satire has been its means to punch upwards in opposition to authority utilizing sarcasm and irony. However in an try to keep up viewers loyalty, some programmes have shifted their targets and begun to punch down in the direction of extraordinary residents, and extra particularly Trump supporters.
Again to the drafting board
In his common Every day Present slot, Jordan Klepper attended Trump election rallies and performed a sequence of sarcastic interviews with the president’s supporters. These segments had been supposed to convey the stupidity and small-mindedness of the interviewees. Nevertheless, what they really did was spotlight an growing sense of smug liberalism inside the satirists and their viewers. The clear inference was that they’re had been in control of higher details and larger perception than their right-wing counterparts. Not solely does this reinforce political polarisation, however it additionally demonstrates how TV satire has resorted to low cost laughs over the delicate commentary it was as soon as identified for.
In fact, there have been nonetheless examples of excellent follow. In his present Final Week Tonight, John Oliver steered away from the mainstream information agenda. As an alternative, he coated matters like immigration coverage that had been all however absent from the broader election protection. Nevertheless, his present was typically the exception to the rule, and TV satire’s efficiency within the 2020 election can solely be described as insipid and ineffective.
So, as America contends with a brand new president-elect and the claims of election fraud are bolstered by Donald Trump, his supporters and a few right-wing information organisations, TV satire wants a major reboot. Trump’s refusal to concede the election aggravates an already divisive political panorama. A panorama the place partisan media organisations and residents are doubling down on assist for his or her respective candidates. On this new atmosphere of different political realities and different details, TV satire wants to return to what it was good at: earnest reporting that cuts by business and partisan information rhetoric and encourages us all to suppose critically about what politicians are asking us to consider.

Gender: Female
Origin: American
Meaning: Feminine Form Of Alain, Or Respelling Of Elaina
1. Meaning of the name "Alayna"
A variant of Elaine, a French perception of Greece Helenē (light, torch, light). In addition, Alaina is used as a feminine form of Scotland by Alan. Var: Alayna, Alena, Allaina, Allayna, Olena. Alayna's name is a girl's name.
Variant of Alana with consonant or phonetic version of Elena. Can appeal to parents who want to honor their ancestors Alan or Elaine. It appears as if the name Alayna was a spelling spell invented in the late 20th century in the United States.
There are several possible sources for the name Alayna. First, it may be a feminine version of the male name Alan (from the Gaelic root meaning 'stone' or 'beautiful') or as a more elaborate expression of Alana (thought to be from a terminology).
Old Gaelic of affection means 'O con') This word Gaelic is also often translated as 'darling' to emphasize the warmth of the expression. In the end, Alayna may be a variant developed from the names Elaine and Ellen, both deformed forms of the Greek name Helen (meaning rays, rays of sunshine).
The most likely origins of Alayna come from the practice of free naming creations long established by American parents, particularly when selecting names for their little girls. Strategies include breathtaking breathing, building existing names, phonetically pronounced forms and inventing a whole new name.
2. Top 1 Famous Person Named Alayna - Kristin Alayna
Kristin Alayna is an actress and producer, known for 100 Degrees (2012), Everwood (2002) and Self Help (2015). She has been married to Jason Barry since 2012.

I keep forgetting Christmas is here. I prayed for a place to even be able to have a Christmas 🎄 let alone buy presents. I had the “conversation” with Allaina about Christmas being delayed this year due to move. The next day I received an email about her being selected to participate in Shop With a Cop again. Santa will still deliver to Grandma & Papa’s apartment. I walk out into this kitchen every morning and can not wrap my head around how God heard my prayers. I prayed for an apartment in a nice area. I prayed for a decent landlord. I prayed for a place we could afford, even in a pandemic. I prayed for patience with having one bathroom (patiently waiting)...😂 This is the first property of a young couple. This listing showed up in my phone after I turned our situation over to God. I also humbled myself and reached out for help. There are so many families out here struggling. I pray for them and those families dealing with domestic abuse. It’s Ok to reach out for help. We are supposed to be of service to others. I thank God constantly for the angels he has placed in our lives and for their generosity. These have been some very uncertain times. Staying focused on what I know is what keeps me grounded. 🧘🏽‍♀️ 2020 came in attacking our health, our marriage and our already unstable finances. But GOD! (Insert praise dance) HE answers prayers. I am in a peaceful place on the inside. It took me along time to get to this place. The relationships I loss were not meant to be. Speaking my truth made some uncomfortable. That is unfortunate. I have always been open for conversation. 2020 has taught me a lot about forgiveness also. I close my eyes every night on all of my relationships with a simple - Val, are you Ok with how you left things? Then I pray about it. Life is too short to take anything for granted. Unconditional love is something I thank 2020 for also. It’s something I am looking forward to experiencing in 2021 from my person. I know God has so much in store for me and my family. I can feel it. 🙌🏽🙏🏽🧘🏽‍♀️ Does Christmas hit different for you too this year? #letstalkaboutit https://www.instagram.com/p/CI0sPi0gwf8/?igshid=fb93u2heop0q

Few people are seated, while some go round the coffin. We favor on Martha as she stands by the coffin staring at the subject inside.
 MARTHA (V.O)
Years passed, I looked down at the coffin of a guy who used to be my "best friend". At the service, they read a letter that he had wrote during his high school years. This is what it read:
HENRY
"I stare at her wishing she was mine, but she doesn’t notice me like that, and I know it. I want to tell her, I want her to know that I don’t want to be just friends, I love her but I’m just too shy, and I don’t know why. I wish she would tell me she loved me! I wish I did too... I will definitely tell her one day"
(MUSIC on)
That was from John to... Martha... He was always in love with her but never had the guts to tell her. The second letter reads...
(Martha bursts into tears after listening to the reading. She stands up and walks to his coffin, kisses him on the forehead, cheeks and lips.)
 MARTHA
(Silently)
We shall be together in the next world. Sorry I didn’t tell you. I’m gonna love you till I die. Goodbye my love.
(Music on)
(She leaves the coffin and rushes out of the scene as she forgot to take her coat.)
NARRATOR
It is still raining. Martha is soaked with rain water, as she slowly walks towards her car. She enters it and drives off.

PRESENT DAY
FUNERAL HOME - DAY
Few people are seated, while some go round the coffin.
