most islanders think Foolish is entirely pro Federation, either because he wants the power they give him or because he doesn’t truly understand what he’s doing or what’s at stake, and is just having fun. even to Cucurucho, he’s a bit of a fool - an overambitious one sure, but a fool nonetheless - who’s irritating and asks too many questions, not quite in a concerning way, but in the way a kid might bother you asking for more ice cream. a newbie on the job who wants the world and is trying to find his place in all of this - any digging for information surely isn’t malicious, because he’s obvious and ignorant about it!

it’s always so exciting when they talk about him, when they say such things to his face - it means it’s working. he tells Cellbit that he’s genuinely infiltrating and he’s not believed. Bad straight up says Foolish’s plans to a Federation worker, and if anything it does more to legitimize him further in the eyes of the Federation.

because he’s silly, and overeager, he can play dumb and his true intentions fly right over everyone’s heads. they only see him for whatever singular facet of his personality that he chooses to present, and it works so well because he can be all those things, he just overplays it to his benefit. Bad is one of the very few who can see his tricks for what they are, who doesn’t underestimate him - because hes right, Foolish does have this way of slipping past peoples defenses to get the info he wants without them even knowing they needed defenses in the first place.

idk this latest stream was just full of these little moments. acting silly when Etoiles asked him why he’s working for the Feds, and grinning when Etoiles says he’s basically a clapping monkey who doesn’t know what he’s doing, calling him naïve. asking Cucurucho a million questions and overwhelming him, acting suspicious and curious around the black concrete nonsense - allowing him to easily get away with presenting exaggerated, biased, and some even fabricated, evidence for his investigation, controlling the narrative entirely, because that part of the convo was made insignificant. (and through those questions, possibly even getting more bonuses for his office and fellow workers - he’s gotten the break room so far, and coffee machines, and another level for investigations, which has swayed workplace opinion towards him heavily.)

then with the AI, Cucuruchito, engaging in banter, then sharing a secret, which seems like a big deal - but everything he told the AI is just what he himself was told by Cucurucho, it was no secret to the Feds at all. then flirting with it for a long time before leaving - which is a tactic he outright explained to chat. to get what you want, information, loyalty, etc, you have to build a good repoire. if it takes flirting, and charm, if it takes a date or two, he’s more than willing to play the part to get what he wants. he’ll pretend to eat up their bullshit about him being special, and let them think he’s charmed instead of the opposite.

Foolish is good at what he does because he catches more flies with honey than with vinegar, and the flies never realize their caught - he’s patient enough to play the long con. and really, could someone as naïve, as foolish as him, be able to do such a thing?

he isn’t taken seriously. and it won’t be their final mistake, but it will certainly be the one that damns them.

#it’s simple I think about qFoolish I start foaming at the mouth #it’s a double edged sword the mischaracterization is craaazy sometimes but like. it means it’s working even if it hurts to seen kgjdkgkfk #and it’s just so fun seeing people talk about him. the people who don’t get him vs those who do #bagi and bad who are like we have to watch out for foolish - but bagi is saying it for all the reasons foolish wants her to think #while bad is like we can’t underestimate him because who knows his intentions and what he’ll do if he gets bored #which is another thing I think bad was right on the nose with - so long as it’s entertaining and serves his purpose foolish will try to tear #up the Feds from the inside #also it’s so interesting how it’s like yeah people are right about him being ambitious and wanting entertainment but in a way where they’re #somehow so off base yknow. like yeah but also no you’re not quite getting it. idk it’s like yeah you’re right but that’s not the full pictur #idk it’s interesting it’s all so interesting #he’s also got this way of sandwiching important questions between non important ones. he wanted to know about classified info but didn’t #make it the most important question when he asked. didn’t make it a big deal that he was asking #mcyt #qsmp #q!foolish #foolish gamers #character analysis #z speaks

skimmed thru the guidebook myself!!!! here’s what i thought was neat about it!!!

the book cover was warning text all over it lol and it reads:

‘hypnosis mic has the power to interfere with people’s minds. when handling it, please be mindful of the extent to which its users’ influence can reach. furthermore, possession of a hypnosis mic that is not authorised by the chuuoku is subject to strict legal penalties’

within the pages, there’s another warning that’s partially blocked off by the graphics, but is advising to thoroughly read thru the guidelines for optimal functionality for failure to do can cause errors, malfunctions and other issues lol

pretty sure said pages are of the box the hypnosis mics are delivered in lol

the current era relationship chart is insane lmao like there are so many arrows. if it’s important, there’s probably an arrow for it lol

a handful of timeline events were removed in favour of including info about everything all the way up to the music festival. most of these removed events were when individuals met each other, eg dohifu meeting, rei and otome meeting

i think it’s just funny lmao but the section in bb’s story talking about jiro and saburo’s jobs to get ichiro to consider making a team with them, they included a silhouette of some woman to represent hifumi’s stalker LOL

did they update the official site with rei’s blood type??? if they didn’t, he’s type a 🤔

according to dh’s most important persons page, rei and otome stopped seeing eye to eye about the true hypnosis mic and the ramuda clones

the explanations for nagosaka’s abilities are neat!!!

🎋: makes the other person laugh, weakening their abilIties (tho interesting to note it’s not written with the english word ability to imply the hypnosis abilities)

🍮: informs allies, strengthening their power

the guidebook says the effects a person experiences after the true hypnosis mic is used on them varies from person to person. there are plenty of unknowns about it, including why hypnosis abilities disappear once under its influence.

Been trying to write an analysis on Sasaki and the ending of Entrance Exam for days now and it just wasn't turning out so I deleted it... maybe another time when I can formulate a thought properly...

The only part I'll put here for now was the bit about my amusement with Dazai and Sasaki clearly near instantly realizing the other is a threat, which changed the way I read the scene of them chatting in the booth after she stayed the night. It probably boiled down to:

*sweetly smiling at each other* "oh this asshole has got to go"

Actually I went on an unorganized ramble in the tags so read that if you're interested in my Sasaki thoughts. Maybe I'll clean it up one day and make it proper.

#i've never seen anyone talk about her in depth so i thought it'd be fun; i really like her actually there was a lot of (wasted) potential #but my brain said no apparently #she has obvious implications for kunikida's character #but i wanted to talk a little about her dynamic with dazai and the paralleling between them #a seeker of justice who actually does not care much about justice and has no real personal ambition #merely acting in the memory of someone with much more strongly held values #she's also pretty cool i mean she has no ability and is quite intelligent #manages to puppeteer everything on her own simply through her skill at reading people and being selective with info #and yet is described as a puppet herself multiple times #and it was heavily heavily implied she wanted answers on what to do with herself and all her painful feelings towards the world #and dazai saw shooting her as 'kindness' #even as she was midway through telling kunikida #that she was happy when kunikida saved her even though it was all a set up #also i wanted to bring up how there's a really important difference between kunikida and the azure king #they're uncomfortably similar in some ways but very different in others #the point was that the azure king is to kunikida (if he valued ideals over people - the darkest path) #as sasaki is to dazai (if he'd been given no direction after losing his most important person - the darkest path) #it's more complicated than that and definitely not 1 to 1 but i stand by this interpretation #the main difference being that perception of humanity in self and others that is the running theme of this series #realized i paralleled a romantic couple to these two #does this count as kunikidazai lol #ugh anyways eventually i will write this i hope #storyrambles #also i know the point is that her and rokuzou died i know the point is the deaths were pointless #but what if she lived? what if she too got to find a reason to keep going in the face of grief and apathy? #and the continued conflict this could give kunikida too #something something the clash of different ideals of justice and how what is 'right' isn't so clear cut #but eventually he sticks to his belief that it is his ideal that no more people die if he can do something about it #this is so stupidly self-indulgent and an impossible scenario and probably i am the only one who finds it interesting but whatever #i think her living would've made things very very complicated but it's interesting to think about

Hey, I know you're a Projmoon fan, I guess I'm curious because I'm at an impasse on what to do rn, did you play through the entirety of Lobotomy Corporation, did you just skip it entirely for Ruina, or did you read a summary/watch a cutscene compilation or let's play/something else? And what would you recommend as an approach? I've tried playing through Lobcorp but it's just extremely tedious and I'm considering skipping it to get to something I think I'll like more (Ruina)

what i personally did was um. attempt to watch an incomplete lobcorp lp ==> couple months radio silence ==> watched one (1) day of gameplay from a friend (for one boss fight specifically) ==> got recc'd summaries i slowly watched thru ==> couple months radio silence. ==> watched someone else's (actually complete) lp ==> (rabbit hole'd) summaries again.

im not gonna act like i Know how t tackle a series like this (since it took me like 4 circles around to Actually Commit to it (and also im kind of. new. here)) BUT from my personal opinion of the series and how it carries itself, i CAN recc at least Some order of something.

TRY to play Lobcorp! which i can kinda see is already done on your end. its something i Super want to try but absolutely know i wont finish SKJFNKDJF;; the main draw of PLAYING lobcorp is the struggle. it Sucks! its Long and Tedious and the game HATES you... and that's the point! it's plot relevant. it's an experience i didnt get to feel, but can so painfully just Understand by merit of watching someone else do it, only skipping about occasionally. tl;dr: the game loop is Telling A Story, Dragging You In-- THAT is the draw in insisting folks play it. it genuinely makes the... everything... hit that much harder. Once youve given it your best, dont feel ashamed to look for someone who's Done It! (i hear a lot of folks havent completed lobcorp themselves, so ✌) DONT UM . SKIP IT COMPLETELY THOUGH ruina is literally a Direct Sequel to it. i think it does a good enough job at introducing the setting on its own, but i am GRABBING YOU this shit will hit fucking DIFFERENT if you Understand. also its a lovely game worth looking at and appreciating bc GOD what a fucking experience those last few days are. i do not cry that easily to stuff like this but OUGH. AUGH. H

Wonderlab??? its a webcomic thats heavily reccommended you read through, but due to um. circumstances . it doesnt seem t be feasible atm. however, there IS a synopsis up thats pretty darn good! wonderlab, iirc, isn't directly plot relevant, but DOES introduce certain important concepts for ruina. however, it's not Mandatory, as ruina Also explains these things. as far as i know, its just a fun lil kickass story in the universe taking place between series you can look at if you want :)

Play Ruina! or watch, i guess. again, i watched an lp and it kicked the shit out of me emotionally (affectionate) so honestly do what you will here, i suppose.

honestly though, these are both super fucking long-ass and ridiculously heavy games so you're probably gonna be here a while. it took me like two weeks of committed watch time t look into Properly, and that was even when i started skipping straight to cutscenes at the latter half. embrace that! i cant stop you, but id heavily reccommend at the very least watching through the gameplay loop for a good chunk of the time-- giving the story that space really hammers home the... Everything. heavily heavily recc letting it Have that space.

for ruina specifically though, definitely at least watch through the beginning and ending legs of every fight-- and at least a solid chunk of every boss fight. if you're intent on skipping round gameplay loops like i did, imean. watch the boss fights watch the boss fights these fuckers do NOT play around. i cannot applaud these games' soundtracks enough and i wont say anything but trust me trust me trust me.

#thing is it's literally a whole thing in the damn story about how he hates his Government Name so i have to honour his real name!!!! #actually this was one of those moments where a character came with a name #bobby was a moment of wait were you always there and i just didnt notice you because i saw a pic on pinterest #that gave me an idea for an RR storyline the storyline being a character dies from AIDS #which is something i have been SO apprehensive about this whole time because i didnt know if i wanted to write the AIDS crisis and include #death so directly...but then my mom died and i became hyperfixated on death LOL #(and realised the way i could approach it respectfully + in a way that honours) #anyway i was like wow with my better expertise on the AIDS crisis + personal experience with loss i feel like i can write this kind of #storyline but who dies?? and i have to make them a fully fleshed character bc i always do #but thats like especially important here. he can't just be a body + vessel for other characters' grief journeys #literally immediately my brain was like so his name is bobby he looks like this he was born in august and he loves this david bowie song #i dont actually know if he still likes the david bowie song (my first image of him had dialogue inspired by the song) so that is info FOR M #but maybe i should revisit that lol.....anyway he just appeared #more details + development came with time as always but i dont have like any conscious #memory of that it just happened #like i forget he's only existed less than a year bc he's on beau/felix/dorothy levels of developed. So I got this idea, but I don’t know if anybody would be into it.

Basically, it’s a standard ask blog style blog. Fictional characters getting into fictional comedy scenarios, all that good stuff. The thing is, I don’t have any sight to use to draw, so all asks would be answered in the form of short fanfic drabbles of a sort.

The characters involved would all be OCs/Fan characters of mine. I was thinking I’d do some sort of AU where, rather than just being separate in their various fandoms, they might all work at the same place. My mind keeps screaming at me to make it a fancy hotel, but I’m not sure.

There’d be at least twenty-five characters, possibly more. The initial post would just be an explanation of the blog’s setup, as well as a list introducing each character rather briefly.

Would anybody want to see this? I have a lot of extra time on my hands very suddenly, so it wouldn’t be impossible for me to do this. I’d just have to hold out hope that I don’t end up burnt out in the first two weeks, aha- Thoughts?
