It's the second activity check of 2024! This one was not as enjoyable to do as some others, but not to worry. Those who have failed will be able to reapp!

Similar to previous checks, you’ll have until the end of the day on 3/6 (server time) to send us an ask (or a message via our Google Forms submission linked on the contact page). Your character’s app will remain on your mun page and on the masterlist, and their account will remain in the server during this time. However, if this is your second consecutive failed activity check, the muse will be removed from the server and the masterlist, and they will need to be fully re-reserved and reapped. The re-reserve cannot happen any earlier than 3/10.

This is much as blessing as it is a course for us... and I mean all of us, right now, that Olivert still refuses to become Emperor eventually. It puts a burden on Alfin and... uh... might be a problem for Cedric should he return and earn forgiveness.

Tho it seems like the Empress made it clear that we at least do not seem to have to worry too much about the Reise Arnors tendency for strong woman, given how she supported Schera, even tho her background isn’t very... princessy, if you get me. Not that you can compare that to a certain man eating tigers background... BUT we cross that bridge if we ever get there, I guess.

There is still a chance for Alfin taking over the Throne eventually anyway.

This man was always a pain in the ass, but this time it will be worth it.

It shows that B was really sincere when he wished them happiness.

I am a bit teary eyes here... Watching Phantom Thief B grow has also been quite the rewarding journey.

Damn it! I juts stopped the tear. *sniffle*

Alfin and Elise were best friends. Everyone knew that. Out of all of Alfin’s friends from the academy, Elise was the only one graced with the privilege to arrive and depart from the palace as she pleased. Everyone else had to be specifically invited by Alfin and have that invitation approved by the great Emperor himself. As special as Elise was, she was still confined to visiting only a handful of rooms and only with an attendant present. This meant that no matter how many times she visited Alfin, the two of them could never find a moment of privacy. Things were even rougher at the academy since other girls, or worse, teachers were always within eyesight.

Constant observation had felt like a weight to Elise at first, but she had grown accustomed to it over time. Now she felt more uncomfortable when she found moments of solitude away from the academy. Still, she wondered how their relationship might change if they were to ever find a moment of privacy.

Alfin knew the full extent of her feelings for Rean, and even seemed to share them to a much lesser extent, yet sometimes Alfin would give off a vibe that the princess’ true affections lay elsewhere. She would stare far too long into Elise’s eyes and dote on her far too much. Frequently, she would go out of her way to touch her, and occasionally, her touches would linger as if promising future touches.

The longer this went on and the more Elise thought about it, the more she hoped that her hunch was right. Elise wasn’t stupid. She knew that Rean would always remain out of her reach. Dating someone else would benefit her in more ways than one, she supposed. At the very least, she could stop confusing Rean with her obsessive behavior. If she had to date someone else, it might as well be her best friend in the world.

She had never thought of dating another girl, and thinking about it now made her as nervous as it did giddy. What would it feel like to hold her? She would be soft, of course, and her soft hair would brush against hers. Or perhaps in other places…

Her mind wandered into such territories more and more often. A crazy part of her almost wanted to just confess her feelings regardless of who was watching. They would be the instant talk of the town. She couldn’t do that to her friend, though. What if Alfin didn’t actually feel the same? All she would do is create a slanderous scandal about the princess being a lesbian.

Finally, the day came when Alfin was able to visit Elise’s hometown of Ymir. In Alfin’s words, it was pleasantly quaint and refreshing. The air was chilly and the water warm, and even better, few eyes fell upon them. Immediately after introducing herself to Elise’s parents, Alfin grabbed her hand and pulled her off to the hot springs.

There was a small private bath behind their home. Alfin wasted no time before undressing herself. Caught off guard, Elise just stood there staring like a rabbit about to be caught in a trap.

Alfin smirked with a twinkle in her eye. “Aren’t you coming in?”

“Oh, right,” Elise stammered, sure that her face was on fire. Shakily, she undressed as the princess stepped into the steaming water without even bothering to cover herself with a towel. She almost instructed her friend that it was proper etiquette to wear the towel, but she couldn’t bring herself to look away let alone speak those words.

Alfin giggled and stretched out her hand. “Come on, slowpoke. The water feels great.”

Equally naked, Elise stepped in, settling beside her. Every one of her nerve endings ached at how close their skin was.

Alfin turned to face her and licked her lips. “You know,” she said, gaze lower than Elise’s eyes, “I’ve been wanting to get you alone for a long time.”

“Really?” Elise asked. She yearned for what she knew had to be coming now given their situation but she was still nervous. Her hand tightened beneath the surface of the water.

Alfin’s hand found hers and untightened her grip. “Relax, I don’t want to do anything you aren’t comfortable with.”

Elise let out a breath she hadn’t realized she was holding. “I’ve been wanting this, too,” she admitted.

“I was hoping you did.”

“Then,” Elise’s own gaze drifted down to the princess’s pale pink lips, “can we…” She trailed off feeling too embarrassed to say it outright.

Alfin understood her, however. Perhaps it was all the time they had spent together, or perhaps it was just what Alfin herself wanted to do, but Elise only had to wait a moment before the princess’s lips were pressed against hers.

Instantly, heat flooded Elise’s system. It was the temperature of the water, she lied to herself. That was why she felt dizzy when they broke the kiss. She latched onto Alfin’s shoulder for support.

Alfin pulled her into a hug and kissed the top of her head. “I wish we didn’t have to return to Heimdallr. We could just live here quietly together.”

Elise pushed back so that there were about two inches between them. “Don’t be silly. You haven’t even really seen Ymir yet. Besides, you are the crown princess. You can’t just run away.”

Alfin cupped her cheek. “I don’t care where we are as long as we remain together.”

“Then…” Elise took a breath, stealing her resolve, “we’ll just have to tell your parents.”

The princess yelped in quite a cute fashion. “Olivert gets away with debauchery, but I don’t think I will.”

Elise shook her head with a smile. “If we’re debaucherous, I don’t want to know what he gets up to.”

Alfin grinned. “Trust me, you don’t want to know.”

Elise threaded their fingers together. “We haven’t done anything he can look down upon.” She raised her voice at the next word. “Unless, your parents think that lesbians are unethical, in which case, I will accept your proposal to elope. Your brother will be the one ruling anyway.”

Alfin grinned as if she had said the best words ever spoken in Erebonia. “Let’s do it! But, it might be smart if we pack our belongings beforehand.”

Elise giggled. “Sounds like a plan.”

They remained in the bath for a long time before finally sightseeing the rest of the town. That night, they squeezed in beside each other on Elise’s small bed. Soon they would have to return to Heimdallr. Soon they would be back in the public’s eye. Soon they would present themselves to the Emperor. But for now, they were perfectly content.
