Hi! I wanted to request a headcanon with Akashi, Murasakibara and Aomine (and another character if you want) about them having a female s/o who is not their original type? (Aka: elegant girls with dignity, Mura: tall girls, Ao: big breasts) Their s/o isn't really elegant lol, or has an average height etc. But they love and treasure her. They reasure their s/o, when she finds out their original type and she's insecure about it
❥ ﹝ insecurities ﹞
i. akashi seijuro
Tumblr media
it'd been a couple of months since you'd started dating akashi, but you had yet to make it public
not that he or you were actively hiding it, the occasion just hadn't presented itself, but as time continued to pass by you began to wonder if he was ashamed of you
you'd been friends for a while and people knew the both of you were close, even when everyone else was terrified of him you were always there and he treated you like an equal so you didn't think people would be surprised if you ended up together
however, you didn't fit his type, the type everyone assumed he would eventually end up with, someone sophisticated and well-mannered, someone who oozed elegance and power...
you were just you, maybe a little loud and outspoken or maybe a little clumsy
but your insecurities were immediately dealt with when he took you by the hand and walked down the hall
it was a particularly busy day, you don't quite remember why because your mind was too preoccupied with his hand in yours, but it was probably due to festival preparations
"why did you do that?" you asked when you finally found your voice
"because i could tell something was troubling and i hadn't done anything wrong, so i figure it had to do with our relationship status"
you smiled, of course he could read you like a book
ii. murasakibara atsushi
Tumblr media
to be honest you had expected a little more than "you're the perfect size" when you voiced your concerns about your height difference
before you guys started dating you had asked him about his type and he said he wanted someone tall so he didn't have to worry about bending down and stuff, so it had been weighing on you this whole time
you wanted some kind of reassurance that he didn't absolutely hate it, but he just shrugged and continued to eat his snacks
"well can you tell me how exactly i'm the perfect height?"
after taking a bite of a chip he titled his head, studying you for a few seconds
"when i'm tired i can rest my chin on your head and it fits perfectly, doesn't matter if i'm sitting or standing and when we're sitting down you fit perfectly against me. i can practically swallow you up with a hug and i think it's nice"
he ate a few more chips before smiling
"oh and i like the way my sweaters look on you"
iii. aomine daiki
Tumblr media
you found the magazines he used to get bribed with by his teammates and felt your stomach drop
in all honesty, you weren't snooping or anything your foot just accidentally knocked into something under his bed and you pulled it out to make sure it wasn't damaged, you actually wished you hadn't stumbled upon his hidden stash of magazines
"what do you have there?" was his nonchalant reaction when he walked into the room
he could tell you were uncomfortable with what you'd found but he thought it was nothing more than shame or disgust that he'd keep something like that
it wasn't until a couple of days later when you brought the subject up that he realized why exactly you looked upset
"are you disappointed that i don't have a big chest like those girls... in the magazines?" you were trying to sound as casual as possible, but your body language told a whole different story
"what?" he frowned, but only got a shrug from you
"i'll admit that's the first thing i see in a girl. i'm a tits guy through and through but that's not all i care about. besides, yours are just the right size. if you had big tits i'd have to watch out for other guys..." he stopped, thinking about how that might have sounded "but that doesn't mean that's the only reason i'm dating you either. without you i wouldn't be able to function. i used to rely on momoi for everything, but now you're the person i look for, so get those stupid thoughts out of your head"

What kind of Yandere are Bonten?
Request of @study-milk : HII it's not so much of a scenario as more of a question. So of the tokyo revengers guys (for ex. Bonten) which ones would you categorize as affectionate obsessive vs territorial obsessive.
Like those who's obsession falls under love sick who will pursue you openly and quicky vs territorial type who play a slow game of winning your sole attention.
Sorry if I ask too much❤️
First of all I have to apologize for taking so long! You request was so interesting, but I was so busy with everything else, that I could barely dictate some of my time do it! Also, if you wanted something differently please tell me! <3
(I also decided to do a bit more for you, though if you want me to elaborate on someone, just tell me...)
PS: You don´t ask too much. I actually very much enjoyed writing this request. It was a lot of fun!!
So first of all, I gotta figure out, who of the guys is obsessive and not only possessive. What is the difference?
The guys with the possessive trait want to own you, want to be the single thing your world revolves around. Incredibly jealous and will disturn and shut down conversation he ain´t a part of. He feels entitled to you.
The obsessive trait is more focused on getting to know his darling. Every little piece of information is carefully squirrelled away, to come out again in the right moment. He will bask in the warmth that your attention brings him. Always watching, always learning more.
Though both of these things are not incompatible. They can happen at the same time. The same guy can be both obsessive and possessive.
Obsessive: Matsuno Chifuyu, Hanagaki Takemichi, Shiba Hakkai, Akashi Takeomi, Hanma Shuji
Possessive: Kurokawa Izana, Sanzu, Draken, Angry, Hanemiya Kazutora, Haitani Ran, Shiba Taiju, Smiley, Baji Keisuke
Both: Kakucho, Tachibana Naoto, Kokonoi Hajime, Haitani Rindou, Mikey, Mitsuya Takashi, Kisaki Tetta
As you can see, that we have 5 boys for the exclusive obsessive traits, most of them, with 10, are in the possessive category. And at last, we have another 7 in the mixed category. These guys present clear traits in my opinion of both categories. So it isn´t quite clear if they´re being possessive or obsessive. This is also where most of the Bonten members are in, who are by the way all in bold. I left out Mochizuki, because I can´t quite grasp his character.
In the request, there was made a difference between affectional and territorial obsessive. And I think, I might be able to draw a line for those things as well. If you look at the request the terms were actually very nicely explained already.
Affectional seems to align more with being so in love, that it makes him sick, and you as well. Constantly draped over you, talking about things that you can connect over. He puts in a lot of effort to be seen in a very positive light by you.
Territorial on the other hand is intent to whisk you away from any other person. He tries to become your focus as well, but instead of him enforcing it like the possessive trait would, he wants you to choose him over and over again.
Affectionate: Matsuno Chifuyu, Hanagaki Takemichi, Haitani Rindou, Mikey, Mitsuya Takashi, Sanzu, Draken, Hanemiya Kazutora
Territorial: Shiba Hakkai, Akashi Takeomi, Hanma Shuji, Kakucho, Tachibana Naoto, Kokonoi Hajime, Kisaki Tetta, Kurokawa Izana, Angry, Haitani Ran, Shiba Taiju, Smiley, Baji Keisuke
At the last moment, I decided to sort the possessive traits also into affectionate and territorial, even though like I predicted most of them landed in the territorial category. Only Sanzu, Draken and Kazutora got into the affectionate category, because I felt like it was needed to point out, that these guys are majorly affectionate. I also decided against using a middle ground between affectionate and territorial, because I felt like I wouldn´t be able to decide if not making definite choices.
Well, enough of that! Instead I would like to focus on what we have. The affectionate trait is carried by 8 guys, which only makes it more obvious that most of the guys are territorial, with 13 guys.
So I think it is pretty easy to say, that possessive and territorial are the more popular traits with the Tokyo Revengers guys.
I come back to Bonten again though:
Sanzu is affectionate possessive. He uses his affection to possess his darling completely. He will enforce his rules, but he tends to act quite lovesick and overly affectionate most of the time. He will whine and cry, and fuss over his darling, being intimate without chasing other people away, bodily at least.
Kakucho is territorial obsessive and possessive. While he wants to know everything about you, he tends to use this information to keep you better for himself. He has also the bad habit of infantilizing his darling, for which he will use the collected knowledge. He also tries to keep everyone, hence being territorial.
Takeomi is territorial obsessive. While he wants to know his darling as well, he kind of uses them as an emotional crutch. He became dependent on them without him realising. He needs to keep them as close to him as possibly, without being able to show them how he feels for them, which is what makes him so territorial, while being obsessive.
Koko is like Kakucho territorial obsessive and possessive. He wants to know you to better win you over for himself. It will point him in the right direction, to talk about the right things, to get you the right things. Though his main goal is territorial at its core. He wants you to be dependent on him, that you will always run back to him, because you simply can´t live any more without him. And he will ensure, that this will happen.
Rindou is affectionate obsessive and possessive. He is very affectionate with his darling and constantly wants to spend time with them. This also leads to him learning a lot about them, and his darling being constantly on his mind. His possessive trait comes from him growing dependent on them, and being afraid of them being taken away from him. So he will ensure, that this won´t happen. It´s fed from his separation anxiety.
Ran is territorial possessive. He wants to own his darling, and doesn´t want other people getting their grubby paws on them either. He feels entitled to the affection and time of his darling, and doesn´t really care for their opinion of him.
Mikey is again affectionate obsessive and possessive. In a manner he is very similar to Rindou. They have the same problems. He is dependent on his darling, wants to desperately keep themself and fears the thought of being separated from them. He tries to hide it though, and some days he comes across as more territorial than affectional, though other days he will cling desperately to you the whole time, unwilling to let you go.
I think that this is it from me. I hope it doesn´t sound as formal as it looks to me at the moment, which can be attributed to me writing a lot of essays these past few months. A lot..., so many... Sometimes I could really hate what I study...
So @study-milk, I hope you and the rest of the guys enjoy this request! I had a lot of fun writing this, and hope you will have just as much fun reading it!! <3

Could you write for KNB where gn reader has tattoos that are usually covered up with their school uniform and during the summer vacation training at the beach everyone gets to see them?
Not sure which school you wanted me to write for, so i just made a scenario with Seirin + GOM/Vorpal Swords :>
Beach Training Camp!
Kuroko No Basuke with Tattooed!Reader
Kinda long, I like writing about KNB characters a lot, they're too silly.
Tumblr media
It’s not like the guys hadn’t noticed the way you’d slyly pull down your already-long sleeves in front of them during practice. It got to the point where the team thought you were ashamed of your body, which led to a little intervention where they sat you down and started listing things that they liked about your personality, much to your confusion. They got really into it too: tearing up by the end. It was only until Kuroko muttered "You don't have to feel insecure around us, ok?" that you realised what they were trying to do.
"Why are you laughing?"
"Because that's not the reason I wear long sleeves!" you laugh out, clutching your stomach. "I thought you guys were trying to kick me out nicely!"
"...So what is the reason?" Koganei asks, Mitobe nodding along.
You chuckle a little more, still amused thinking about how long they must've been thinking this way.
"...Don't snitch."
The moment you pull up your sleeve, their eyes widen in disbelief...
...and not long after, the questions come flooding in.
"Is that a lizard?"
"Idiot, it's a dragon."
"Does this mean you're in a gang?"
"I thought the age to get a tatoo in Japan was 20."
"How did you get that?"
"Is it real?"
You chuckle once more, used to this kind of reaction.
"I lived in America, and the state laws were pretty soft on tattoos as long as you have writte consent from an adult. Got my first one a year ago, and now we're here."
Some turned to Kagami for some kind of confirmation on those laws, but he just shrugged, equally as shocked as they were.
-
-
Anyway, the events of the big tattoo reveal were 4 months ago, and it's still funny to look back on, even in the backseat of Kagetora's car, as you talk with Riko.
"But really, I never thought you'd have an arm covered in ink."
You laugh again, before putting on a cheeky grin.
"If you thought that was unbelievable, you have more to look forward to." you snicker, reading her confused reaction. She scans your outfit for stray areas of revealed skin, but to no avail.
"The hell are you planning..."
As you turn up at the beach, helping to unload the basketball hoops from Kagetora's boot, you see some familiar faces waving in the distance.
"Y/N-chii! Over here!" yells Kise, soon met with Aomine's palm to the back of his head.
"Moron, we're in public, you know." utters Midorima, pushing up his glasses.
Akashi and Murasakibara sit at a bench; one studying the antics and dynamics of the other three, the other chomping on a box of ice pops.
"Hey, I wasn't expecting to see all of you guys here." you say, impaling the pole of the hoop into the sand.
"Kuroko invited us, I assume we can stay?" Akashi replies.
You nod, smiling. "Of course! We're just waiting on the him and the others now."
Riko grunts, "Seriously, how can you invite people and then be the person who's late!" she exclaims, kicking the sand in an animalistic manner, earning a few confused glances from the others.
You laugh a little, before turning away, bag in hand.
"I'm just going to change into my beachwear, I'll be back soon."
"MAKE IT QUICK!" Riko yells, as you nod.
-
-
During your outfit change, the Seirin team turns up, jumping off the bus.
Immediately, Kuroko is met by a slap to the back of the head.
"Kuroko! If you wanna invite guests, tell your coach first!"
Kuroko mutters a little apology, timidly side-stepping away from her.
-
-
Eventually, a match begins. The Generation of Miracles on one, the Seirin team on the other.
Aomine gets a steal early on, before realising he can't dribble.
"Aomine-chii! Pass to me, don't just stand there, what are you looking at?" yells Kise, before his eyes land on you, jogging over with a more comfortable outfit for the heat.
"Hey, have you guys already started playing?"
Everybody just stares.
"...Hello?"
Riko is the first to say something.
"Lord."
There you stand, both arms littered with tattoos, along with ink traced along you collarbone and across your back. And don't forget the thighs.
"...What?" You ask, confused by the sudden attention.
Kuroko's eyes are just a little wider than usual, as he says, "I thought you only had one tattoo." You shrug, "Well, I didn't say I only had one tattoo."
Akashi squints his eyes at you from a distance, scrutinising you with his gaze.
"They look nice."
Aomine makes a point to act unbothered, but inside, he's freaking out. "oh my god they're a gang member i'm literally gonna get my ass beat holy shit i'm not ready i haven't even won an oscar before oh jesus i can't die like this i'm too young"
Kise on the other hand is very loud, commenting on all sorts of things, “Did you get those done here? In America? I have a fellow model with a similar design to that!”
Murasakibara just stares like a confused child, just glad that you’re here so that he doesn’t have to move around as much.
Midorima is also a member of team act unbothered, but backs up a bit. Not that he thinks that there's anything explicably wrong with having tattoos, but more so that Oha Asa predicted that "Cancers, watch out! You may encounter something or somebody dangerous today!". In hindsight, it was a ridiculous action to take; you'd always been so kind and welcoming to him and his team in previous matches and practice games, but we wasn't going to take the chance.
Kiyoshi is the first, and only person to laugh; he also laughed when you showed the team your first tattoo, he just finds these kinds of situations amusing.
Hyuuga and Kagami take the scolding route, half-heartedly berating you as you look at them kind of confused, they don't really mean anything, they just don't know how to respond to this kind of thing.
Izuki finds a way to crack a joke about the whole affair, much to the surprise of absolutely nobody.
Mitobe and Koganei compare notes scrawled on a little pad.
"Ha! I predicted it! 7 tattoos!" Koganei exclaims, as Mitobe sighs softly and hands him a ¥1000 note.
You giggle and clap your hands together.
"Let's continue the match!"

My Personal Reverse Harem Ranking - GOM EDITION
Alright, let’s just get it straight out in the open, I would joyfully sign up to be their shared wife. But if I were to rank them from most favourite to least I’d say 1. Midorima. For one, as a Capricorn we’re literally opposites attracting in astrology, but whilst some zodiac signs opposing each other on the wheel have short-lived passionate romances, Midorima and I are the type of opposites that are highly compatible for a long-term relationship. We’re supposed to be like two sides of the same coin (my mom believes in these things too actually, so I know about sign compatibility). Also, I definitely do think he fits the whole cancer thing of ‘being like a crab and being crabby towards others but actually being a passionate individual on the inside’, and that in bed, he’s the most hardcore after Akashi (compatibility actually also says we’d have an amazing sex life). 2. Aomine. Considering most of the fandom is Aomine trash, do I need to explain myself? He could call me anytime, and fuck me anytime too. Also, according to aforementioned zodiac compatibility, Aomine and I are also a highly compatible match (the stars are in Capricorns favor). He actually shares a few similarities in personality to ‘the one who got away’ from me during high school with both of us still needing to grow a bit more in order to be ready for a relationship.  Aomine’s also about as tall as my first crush on high school that was also into sports and women (as in, a known pervert). Basically, he’s like an amalgamation of all the guys I fancied as a teenage girl except for the douchebag that was my ex-boyfriend Joey (bad boys aren’t worth it, trust me. Especially if they could have walked straight out of Euphoria). 3. Akashi. I like myself scary dudes, okay? The moment I laid upon his handsome face, and heard that orchestra during his matches, I was like, “That boy is like the Damien (Omen) of Basketball. I simp.” His original personality makes it even better. A sweet, prince-like character with such a dark side? Sign me up please. He hits all the right spots in my morbidly inclined mind and I definitely wouldn’t mind him dominating me and my pussy. The only drawback is that he seems pretty cowardly in a sense he doesn’t even have a moment of doubting or standing up to his father for his rough childhood. He doesn’t really fights for himself, and coming from a dysfunctional family myself I definitely have stood up for myself and keep wondering why the fuck Akashi doesn’t considers his happiness as something important. If I were his girlfriend, I’d definitely ask him to elope somewhere far away from our families.
4. Kise. I want this man to be my adonis. If he were here, I’d ask him to pose model for my assignment whilst totally seducing him with dirty talking in the meantime because Kinktober is making me horny. The fact I have to draw the leg and particularly pay attention to the muscles and could use this as an excuse to ask him to go completely nude down below and imagine all about sucking that dick dry before actually getting to do it after I finished homework is like the perfect motivation to kill my procrastination. Seriously, I want him to be my muse, and I’m fairly certain he’d happily agree to these particular kind of study dates. I want hime to give me all of that physique. I’m getting wet all over again thinking about this, when I really shouldn’t even be typing this down and just be doing my homework.
5. Murasakibara. Biggest drawback is the ponytail he wears during matches, I don’t like men with ponytails (most of the time. Ichiru in Vampire Knight S2 actually wasn’t that bad). He’s so much sexier with his hair loose, and I’d love to run my fingers through his hair. Imagine sitting on his lap and feeding him. Like, yes. I also agree with the pussydrunk headcanon, and I’d definitely would love to offer myself to his mouth. I can also imagine him putting a popsicle in my mouth and just fucking my mouth with it whilst I sit on his lap. -I need to focus, I’m getting way too distracted with this idea instead of getting in the mood for homework.

Tatami Galaxy (novel) finished 2/28/23
yes i am late on this one. okay. if it is not obvious i'm already a really big fan of this series so this is going to be fully biased. sorry! i got this book as a gift; i was originally gonna wait for the paperback version to be released because honestly i typically like paperbacks better than hardcovers... they're cheaper and easier to hold and i like the way that they age and show the love you poured into them over the years (my h2g2 paperback omnibus that i carried around for like 2 years in my backpack and is held together with 3 different kinds of tape and a dream being the prime example of this) but what was i gonna do. say no? it's the tatami fuckin galaxy, baby. what the hell. it's wild to me that i've actually read this now.
first off i just wanna say how cool it was getting to read the translator's note at the end of the book and hearing how passionate they were about this author's work in particular and how they got into translating with the goal of being able to translate his work. it's fun knowing that something was made by people who actually care a lot about it. i think that shows throughout.
for those who don't know what the fuck the tatami galaxy is even about: cringefail pathetic guy college student realizes that he's pissed away the last two years of his life and wishes that he could redo it all over again to stop himself from getting wrapped up in a bunch of bullshit and we (the audience) get to see him fulfill that wish through time loop shenanigans that he (the main character) is only somewhat aware of but actually every choice he makes that could have possibly had him do something different leads him back to the same place he was before: depressed alone in his shitty little 4.5 tatami mat room. important side characters include ozu (best friend/worst enemy, connected by the black string of fate) and akashi (love interest kinda/ruthlessly autistic, girl of all time) among other recurring characters who i'm not going to talk about because time constraints and i think they're better experienced naturally so, there you go. if you're curious as to what the fuck i've been talking about you have a reason to get into it.
one of the things i really loved being able to read the novel after seeing the anime adaptation is being able to contrast the ways that they were able to bring in the time loop aspect which... really is not all that present for as much as i talk about it; it's core to the series but it's not really a mystery that needs to be uncovered, it's just the vehicle for which we can explore the main character's wish fulfillment fantasy and come to realize that actually, all the problems are with him and his pathetic little life, the spineless little worm. however i do love a good time loop and will continue to sell it as such. the repetition of passages in the book, the fact that the main character and ozu have very similar conversations in different places, the deja vu, the way each section ends the same, it all builds a really solid but not ridiculously over the top loop. like i said, it's just a vehicle. in the first 3 parts of the book at least.
as the novel is written in first person we're really able to dive into that unreliable narration more than we were in the anime which, while being narrated by the mc, really has to be third person and therefore gives a little more credence to the reality of what's being shown. the anime gets really out there with its visual interpretations and combined with the mc's narration like, it's obvious that everything you see is biased from his perspective, but... to pull an example out of my ass (and this is not a direct quote because i can't be bothered, don't come for me) there's one point where he's trying to describe himself and he's going off like: picture a guy in your head. a nice looking, smart guy, with a beautiful black haired woman by his side. he's going off about his studies. he seems like the kind of guy who has friends and is natural in social situations. now, that guy's not me, but please picture me like that.
you get what i mean? he's that kinda guy. i love a good kinda cringey main character but i get that that kind of main character isn't for everyone. however it is for me. it's fun watching him fail through life and kind of accidentally learn things along the way and then to have the big culmination of the book (the 4th part, where the aforementioned vehicle crashes and) where he ends up stuck in a literal loop with no way out of his apartment but through all the different tatami rooms that belong to the different versions of himself that he could have been and realizing that whatever path he takes he'll still end up the same but that there are small joys to be felt in life still, that he has the connections he's made in all of these worlds and realizes fuck, i've been dreaming about this rose colored campus life for far too long and i didn't even realize what i had.
and the symbolism with akashi being afraid of moths?? it's just too good. had to throw that in there because every time i think about it i get all hehehe it itches my brain in the right way. i think she got a bit more fleshed out in the anime but i do still love what there was for her in the book.
i love the tatami galaxy! really fun time for me, felt like coming home. genuinely might try and pick up another by the same author. apparently he has a thing for these sopping little wet idiot protagonists and i just love reading about them.
do i recommend it? ^ read it if the above applies to you too lol
p.s. kamen rider V3 is mentioned! THAT'S MY FRIEND KAZAMI SHIRO HIIIIII KAZAMIIIII

shout softly by lostsunsets

Main Tags: Akaashi Keiji/Miya Osamu, Slow Burn Mutual Pining, Food, Character Study, Miya Osamu-centric
Miya Osamu and longing, in three parts— on the journey to Onigiri Miya; being a half of a whole; and the conundrum of Akaashi Keiji.
As with any osamu character study, food (cooking, owning a restaurant, Onigiri Miya) is a central figure in most fics. lostsunsets takes this a step further with their, as they put it, “gratuitous descriptions of food” which will not only makes you hungry, but will cement osamu’s passion for food in your mind.
One of the things I love about reading osamu-centric fics is how they have the potential to focus on his career & love for cooking.
On one hand, this is because one of my guilty pleasures is food related media (anime, manga/manhwa, food network, youtube vids) so seeing this focus on food was such a bonus to me. Honestly, this had food porn level worthy food descriptions. With such variety in regions the dishes were mentioned, I imagine the author is at least on some level interested in food.
On the other hand, what I love is how people put in effort/passion/love in things that can be seen as insignificant or glanced over. (For example, a small paragraph is dedicated to osamu's miso yaki onigiri, where we learn he uses a specific red miso from the Shizuoka Prefecture.) Isn't that kind of amazing?Elements like that are what catch my attention or obsession(?) I've been rereading fics like this one because l'm hooked.
Another thing I loved was Akaashi’s food blog. Once again, it triggered my appreciation for those who go above & beyond with his reviews not only being immersive (made me think it was actually some blog post and “yea ofc akaashi runs a food blog, I see it”), but in some cases reflected real restaurants.
Outside of me being obsessed with all things food related in this fic, it also served other purposes. In the first half it helped cut up sections between OsaAka’s irl interaction and the more character study side of this fic (osamu’s dreams of food showing his passion for food/dream of working in culinary). In the latter half, with the pattern of these blog posts when the tone shifts, (as in when akaashi says a restaurant would be the perfect date spot) it gives us that mutual pinning tag, and showcases the development of their relationship. I also really love how it’s used to give a satisfying ending with announcing they’re together after the confession/kiss scene.
Anyways, the blog posts were such a nice touch.
Favourite scene:
He knows that, for himself and Akashi both, parts of them will always belong to other people. This is the kind of love that they give—advice, straight and to-the-point; support, quiet and unflinching. They are always there, and they will always be there, not out of some warped sense of obligation or duty, but simply because that is who they are.
And Osamu knows that it is people like Bokuto and Atsumu—who may seem flush with reckless abandon, who may seem like they have the world clenched around their fist—who need it the most.
Because they are the kinds of people who are able to take the love that they receive and turn it into miracles.
This scene was such a surprise to me and what really sold me on this fic. The quote “they are the kinds of people who are able to take the love that they receive and turn it into miracles” took my breath away when I read it. I didn’t expect that kind of dynamic/relationship analysis in this fic and I love how it emphasizes how similar osamu & akaashi are, really solidifying why they work. Above all else I believe relationships are about understanding.

❀ 20 TIMES IN 10 YEARS | TOKYO REVENGERS 🤍 sano shinichiro 💿 female reader, second pov (you/your), angst and fluff, pining, hurt no comfort, tw: canonical character death, au - canon divergence, imagine 📅 july 29, 2021 🔗 masterlist ,, inspired
sano shinichiro’s love for you doesn’t change, even throughout the years. ten years has passed but the way he looks at you is the same as when he first fell in love with you.
Tumblr media
The first time he confessed to you, he was barely fourteen years old and running a rising gang named Black Dragons. Everyone who had heard of his name had all thought that he was some tall, broad, male with a lean body who can defeat anyone that dares to defy him.
Your first thought of Sano Shinichiro was that he’s a dork.
He tried a pickup line on you. A cheesy pickup line, shameless, but even you could see how he looked like he was about to die inside from embarrassment. He was shorter than you expected, thinner as well, quite lanky and his hair was almost ridiculous and he had a cute smile that if he hadn’t said it himself, you wouldn’t have believed that he was the Black Dragon’s president.
He was cute but not your type.
You rejected him mercilessly, turning around and walking away, planning to erase him from your mind. You weren’t looking forward to getting into a relationship, it has never been a top priority, and it never will be.
The second thought of Sano Shinichiro that you realized was that he was persistent.
After you rejected him, Shinichiro just doesn’t want to leave you alone. He made it his absolute goal to find you after class to ask you out on a date or a study group (he says it’s with Black Dragons that had Takeomi Akashi from the class next door along with Imaushi and Arashi a few classes down) but you know well that he’s going to find a way to shoo them away so it’ll only be the two of you.
Tumblr media
“Why do you like to annoy me so much?” You groan, ready to throw him out the window, knowing that he’ll survive since it’s only the third floor. He’d break a lot of bones though but you sure do hope it’ll give him a concussion, might actually get him to be smarter.
“Because I like you.”
“Don’t.”
“Y/n-san,” he sighs, a little blissfully. “Liking you isn’t something that’s going to change now or ever. It’s not just some kind of joke I’m doing for fun, it’s basically my life now.”
“Go kill yourself and get a different life then.”
“Then, I’ll still like- no, love you in my next life!”
Tumblr media
The fifteenth time he confessed, it wasn’t some poorly planned event that ended with him saying some pickup line or giving you a bouquet of flowers. No. The fifteenth time he confessed after being quiet for almost a year was in your third year of highschool, two years after he left Black Dragons to the next generation since he decided to take classes seriously.
(You wanted to believe that it wasn’t because of you. That it wasn’t because you told him to think of his future more. But everyone knew why he started attending classes more regularly, why the Black Dragons had a different leader now after it’s sudden takeover of Tokyo.
You knew as well and you hated how it made your cheeks flush at the thought of him giving it all up just because you said so.)
The fifteenth time he confessed, you opened your window to hear him singing for you with Imaushi playing the guitar, Akashi awkwardly smiling and clapping his hands along. You knew that Imaushi wasn’t exactly playing the guitar though (that guy can’t play shit) since you spied Arashi trying to hide a speaker behind his back as Shinichiro sings his heart out.
“Sano, it’s literally ten in the evening, my neighbors are trying to have a peaceful, silent night and they’re going to kill me!” You call out but Akashi only snorts as Shinichiro continues on. There were three kids on the other side of the street, just sitting on the curb and you almost scream knowing that they were probably way past their curfew and Shinichiro’s probably responsible for them because of fucking course.
(Shinichiro was, indeed, responsible for them and he couldn’t leave them alone in the house since their grandpa was out in the countryside. He had no choice but to bring them along!)
You slam your windows shut and for a short second, you thought that Shinichiro actually shut up and decided to go home as you make your way downstairs, but no. He’s still going strong.
When you open the door, dressed in your pajamas and a hastily put on coat, Shinichiro’s expression brightens up immediately, stopping in his goddamn awful singing. Imaushi stopped “playing” as well but the speaker was turned off exactly five seconds late so it was obvious what was actually happening here.
“Y/n-”
You walk past him, crossing the empty street, knowing that your neighbors were probably looking at you now. You stop in front of the three kids, one of them looking eerily similar to Shinichiro but with blond hair while the girl had some resemblance. “It’s cold and I’m sure that bastard just dragged you out here without feeding you, am I right?”
“I fed them!” Shinichiro whines but the blond kid nods and the other two soon follow. “Oh come on! Mikey, I gave you a whole box of dorayaki earlier!”
You roll your eyes, smugly patting the blond- Mikey’s head. “Come inside. I’m sure I still have some snacks left from yesterday. You can warm up there as well,” you smile at them which elicited a gasp from Shinichiro and a snort from Arashi. The only expression you ever gave Shinichiro is an annoyed frown, and here you were smiling at kids, at Mikey, the brat.
“What’s your name?” You ask the only girl in the group, taking her hand to help her up. She gives you a hesitant wary look, scanning you up and down for two whole seconds as she pats her skirt down.
“Emma.”
“I’m Mikey!”
“I’m Edward!”
“It’s still a stupid name,” Emma comments, rolling her eyes but the two of you seemed to have come to an agreement as she wasn’t acting hostile. “That’s Baji. They’re both idiots.”
You held in a sigh. Kids. They’re kids. They’re adorable kids. You’re taking them in.
Emma doesn’t let go of your hand as you start walking past Shinichiro (who was currently gaping at you) and the rest, Mikey and Baji trailing behind you while bickering over something. “L/n Y/n, nice to meet you. I’m glad that you aren’t like Sano-san over there, Emma-chan.”
“I’m glad as well, Y/n-nee.”
“Wait, Y/n-”
The door shuts behind you, Emma staring at the closed door while Baji struggles at the genkan with his new shoes, Mikey only toeing off his slippers with a curious hum as he looks around. “Does anyone want ramen?”
(Shinichiro stands outside, silent. He blinks at the closed door before turning to Akashi who was nearest to him. “Did… Did she just kidnap my siblings and Keisuke?”
Arashi shrugs dismissively. “Doesn’t that mean the two of you are married now?”
“I don’t think that’s how it works,” Imaushi only comments, ready to chuck the guitar into the trashcan.)
Tumblr media
The twentieth time he confessed, you were both 23. It was his birthday.
Celebrating at some cheap rentable room, you can’t help but wonder how you ended up so deeply integrated into this group when just ten years prior, you were about to have an aneurysm every time they were mentioned. Troublemakers.
Perhaps this all started after you decided to take Emma, Mikey, and Keisuke in on that one night five years ago. Emma started wanting to hangout with you and Mikey was quite curious though he denies it. Somehow, it ended with you hanging around Sano household as well, learning some tricks from their grandfather and ending up meeting some of Black Dragon’s members.
“Y/n, have some more!” Akashi beckons, pouring even more into your glass, laughing joyously and probably won’t be remembering anything tomorrow. Arashi looked as if he was about to cry at some unsaid story and Wakasa was silent, staring blankly at the ceiling and probably as drunk as Akashi.
You couldn’t even remember how you ended up here. Was it when you stopped by Shinichiro’s shop earlier to pick up a handkerchief you forgot the last time you came to visit and they noticed you so they dragged you along as well? In the first place, why did you visit last time again…? Mikey and Emma don’t hang out around Shinichiro’s bike shop so why were you there?
Didn’t you want to tell Shinichiro something?
You sip on the liquor on your cup, leaning back on the worn-out couch as Akashi punches in a song, pushing the second mic to Arashi. Closing your eyes, you prepared yourself for another ear-damaging round of singing.
Shinichiro chuckles, deep, intoxicated, beside you, resting his cheek on your shoulder and snapping you back to consciousness when his breath fans your neck. You glance at him as he stares at you; eyes revealing more than his lips could.
You didn’t move away or push him to fall off the couch, something you would have done if you were fourteen or even seventeen. You just sit there, frozen as ice and hard as stone and Shinichiro starts to smile.
“I really do love you, Y/n.”
A hitch of your breath and your eyes regretfully becoming teary as you look away. This is why it’s always so hard to completely push Shinichiro away. He looks at you like this, he says words like this. He’s just so stupidly loyal that ten years later, it’s still you he’s saying those words to when there were better girls out there—girls that would treat him better than you do to him.
Stupid. Stupid Shinichiro. Stupid Sano Shinichiro.
I hate you so much.
“I know,” you murmur. Stupid Shinichiro. It was getting harder and harder to reject him.
“I think it’s supposed to be about time you actually answer me,” he grins, boyish as if he was back to being a middle schooler, his eyes twinkling and the different party lights illuminating his face as Akashi continues on screaming incoherently in the background.
“I did.”
“Properly,” he chuckles, burying his face on your shoulder playfully.
He knew it. He already did. From the way you faltered, from how you started to treat him differently, from how you started to compliment him (though backhanded) and even how you started to finally look him in the eye—like he’s actually there, a person and not just some dust you could wave off.
He knew it, noticed it earlier than you did two years ago. That was why he stopped confessing momentarily. Paused on his nineteenth confession because he knew that you needed time and space before you could completely accept your own feelings.
You already lost that day, five years ago, with Mikey, Keisuke, and Emma. You lost the day you started humoring him with responses and conversations, albeit dry and sarcastic. You lost the day you passed him a copy of your homework back in the first year of highschool and told him to think more about his studies and his future.
“Tomorrow,” you start and he looks up seeing you staring in front of you as if you weren’t speaking to him. “I’ll give you an answer tomorrow.”
Shinichiro smiles.
You gave him an answer the next day. You surrendered to your heart, surrendered to the dizzying emotion that always wraps around your head whenever Shinichiro looks at you like how he looked at you ten years ago. In love.
“I really do love you, Y/n.”
“I know… And I do as well, Shinichiro.”
This time, there was no grand confession, no grand courting. Shinichiro only told you that he loved you, always had, in that karaoke room on his 23rd birthday. Something so simple and yet it was the one who took your heart the most.
It was the one that officially binds you together.
It was the one that locked your fate, secured it tightly and made sure that you won’t be able to escape.
Escape the funeral that came barely two weeks later.
Stupid. Stupid Shinichiro. Stupid Sano Shinichiro.
I hate you so much.
You sit there, not knowing what else to do. His voice still in your ears, ringing; and his smile will haunt you forever, until the end of your days and beyond.
“Then, I’ll still like- no, love you in my next life!”
Your eyes water as you sniffle, hands clenched on your fist, shoulders shaking. A laugh leaves your lips garnering looks from everyone else in the room including the Sano siblings.
You better find me first then.
Maybe you’ll fall for him faster, maybe it won’t take him ten years and twenty confessions. Maybe, next time, you’ll be a little more honest, to Sano Shinichiro and to yourself.

@inky-page Tumblr ate your ask I'm sorry but here you go. ❤️
💮 TR BOYS WITH A GIRLFRIEND WHO SPEAKS 4 LANGUAGES
🌸Characters : Rindou Haitani, Baji and Sanzu Haruchiyo.
🏵️Warnings/note : Fem reader/Second point of view (you, your) /Slight cursing. /Brief mention of drugs in Sanzu's part/ fluff/ slight crack/generally astonished boyfriends./ An au where all the manga pain doesn't exist/Canon divergence.
Tumblr media
HARUCHIYO SANZU/ AKASHI::
-Your boyfriend was shocked when he found out. And honestly, he didn't find out in the best of ways.
- He was just lounging on the sofa while you took a shower, lazily flicking from channel to channel while waiting for you to come out.Thats when he heard what was one of the most terrible noises in his life, coming from the shower.
- He ran in panic as he heard you screech an impressive number of curses, some he didn't recognise as his language. He barged into the bathroom calling out your name, only to see you struggling with the shampoo stuck in your eyes. Screaming at everyone and everything.
"Y/N ARE YOU ALRIGHT?"
"HARU? DO I LOOK ALRIGHT?"
-He stood there for a hot minute, shocked at the number of different notes that flew from your mouth.
- Ignoring the situation, he simply leaned on the doorframe and asked about how many languages you spoke.
-You were going to kill him, no seriously because the shampoo in your eyes was doing wonders to your raging temper, only adding to the fuel.
"OOOH how interesting! How many languages do you speak Y/N darling? Do you attend classes or something?"
"HARUCHIYO SANZU, DOES THIS LOOK LIKE THE RIGHT TIME? IS IT THE RIGHT TIME HARUCHIYO?"
"You're right, you're right, stop staring at me like that calm down."
-Since that day onward, he asked you the most random questions to date.
"Y/N sweetheart, what do you call cocaine in (language)?"
"Babe I swear I never researched drug or gun names in my language courses, let me sleep it's 2 am."
------
"Y/N did the duolingo owl ever terrorise you into studying? Is that why you studied so many languages?"
"Haru shut the hell up before I go to sleep on the couch"
"You wouldn't"
"Keep talking and we'll see"
Tumblr media
RINDOU HAITANI ::
-Honestly, you’re the one who told Rindou about your unique specialty , you admittedly actually hoped for some kind of astonishment, or amazement from your stoic boyfriend.
-Instead all you got from him was a cool shrug and a question of what languages you spoke, after that he just went back to scrolling absentmindedly on his phone.
-You knew Rindou wasn’t one for words, but still, it would’ve been nice if he showed a little enthusiasm -its not everyday someone speaking 4 languages appears. The thought crossed your mind before you could stop it.
Did he even care?
-It must’ve shown on your face because Rindou sighed, dropping his phone to the side and pulling you closer to his body, mumbling apologetic words, you squirmed, insisting you knew and that it didn’t hurt.
“Y/N I promise I care, you know how I am”
“Rin! No it’s alright, I know, don’t worry!”
-Your reaction didn’t satisfy him, even though you thought it did. In fact, you almost forgot the entirety of the tense incident, until a number of weeks later when it made it’s way back into your conversations.
-You two had been sitting on the couch, your head rested above his chest with his arm around your waist as you watched a boring movie. You were slowly slipping off into small bouts of sleep, eyes tired and head drowsy when you heard a quiet voice mumble.
“Y/N?
“What’s wrong Rin”
*in foreign language* “I love you Y/N, you know that right?”
“I love you too Rin-”
-Your eyes flew open in shock, tilting your head up to meet his dimmed violet eyes staring at you. He rarely ever commented on his love for you, but that wasn’t what shocked you, this time, he had commented in one of the languages you had thought he wouldn’t even recall.
“Hold on”
-You rubbed the sleep out of your eyes, peering up at him again, his face was dusted with a light blush, one you could barely see in the dark room. He averted his gaze away, blush darkening as you stared up at him in shock. Finally you spoke.
“Since when...did you even learn...that?”
“A while ago dumbass”
“A while ago?”
“From when...from when you told me you could speak a bunch of languages, I just thought to take one up.”
-Rindou wouldn’t say anything else regarding it after that, resorting to intense focus on the movie onscreen, he wouldn’t tell you but the look of hurt that had flashed on your face when you told him had him sinking in guilt.
-He recalled the deep anxiety he found himself sinking into, thinking that you thought the worst of him. He wanted to show you that the 'I love you's' he murmured were truly heartfelt.
-Ran said he was being over dramatic, but Rindou had honestly found no other way to prove to himself and you that he cared for everything you did and said. The warmth that bloomed through his chest at your excited smile was worth every minute he had spent trying to learn a language to connect to you.
That night, Rindou was free of his worries, which had all been soothed by your smile.
Tumblr media
BAJI KEISUKE ::
-Listen, he is proud of you. He thinks that you're deservedly the smart one in the relationship, maybe the one smart person he will sit and listen to all day.
-When he heard from a friend of yours that you spoke four languages he was genuinely amazed, exclaming to you later on just how amazing and impressive that was.
-You even slowly began to realise that he was picking up on common phrases you used, his eyes would gleam over with pride whenever you said a single word, instantly bookmarking it for another day.
-To someone else it might have seemed like Baji was the multilingual one, but no he was just hyping you up every minute he could.
-It actually ended up being helpful as you helped him with language studies, he thought your methods were better than the teachers anyways.
-Baji was always motivated to do better by you and his desire to keep his mother happy, so motivated he found himself studying voluntarily, shocking the Toman members so badly to the point that you actually received a frantic call from Mikey asking if you had drugged Baji.
-You regularly answered multiple random questions from him, most of them were things like 'alright how do you say you're beautiful?' only to repeat your words with a cheerful grin, making you laugh at his cheesy techniques.
-Baji, despite all his wholesome actions, was also the first person to ask you for every possible curse in every language you spoke, grinning enthusiastically as you nervously recited words you wished you didn't know.
-Actually Baji even learnt curses you didn't know existed, saying that he was "merely deepening his knowledge"
-But all in all, Baji loves you and all your 'random mumbo jumbo' as he calls it. He's never been so proud to love a girl before, and he apologises for all the random questions he cursed you with.
---------------------
A/N : im sorry for how long this turned out. I got to Rindou and kinda got carried away, anyways first fic I hope you liked it! Reblogs and likes much appreciated 💖

love akashi so bad. that's my pookie, my stack of sunshine, my beloved cat. i will defend him to the ends of the earth. i will burn a house down on someone for speaking ill of him. i will bombastic side eye, criminal offensive side eye anyone who calls him "scary" or "cold" or reduces him into a caricature of his grandiosity because he is so much more than that and, in fact, he is actually quite the opposite of it.
he's been distanced so much from people his age because of constantly being raised in a state of vigilance and absolute perfection that prevents him from showing weakness or vulnerability even in his relationships because he's associated it with punishment but he wants to be approachable, to be seen as less intimidating. when he's dissociated into his second self, he's masking (unconsciously or consciously, who knows) because even though he may be intimidating, he is safe behind this superficial mask of superiority and perfection, he is untouchable, but as soon as it shatters, the very real fear of being abandoned by his friends comes crashing in - he just wants to keep playing basketball, on this court where it is his domain, where his father can't reach him and where he's closest to his mom. the very identity that he was hiding behind, to protect himself, is his greatest weakness. it's ironic that his second self is meant to be an image of absolute strength that maybe would have, in his eyes, made him worthy of companionship but all it does is contribute to it falling apart.
i think he is just a boy who has gone through way too much all by himself and has known no other way to experience the tragedies and obstacles in his life. he's learned he has to work to be worthy of his father's love, that love - his life - is a privilege meant to be earned rather than an experience to be created and shared. i could write so much more on how the visible power deferential between akashi and the rest, as well as the literal distance akashi puts between himself and them was meant to be adaptive, to protect his mask, but then became maladaptive - there is just so much to say about this but i could go on forever and i don't want to do that here.
he is just my boy and i love him dearly and no one understands him the way i do.

What We Don’t Talk About
Tumblr media
“Hey,” you started. “Can you still tell if it's about to rain?”
Takeomi sighed. “Sometimes.”
It didn't rain, though. Everything was too stagnant, and perhaps for the two of you, the world might as well have been on a standstill upon Shinichiro’s death.
pairing: takeomi akashi/reader ❁ implied (oblivious) shinichiro sano/reader
content tags: gender neutral reader. companion piece au to green light. tokrev manga spoilers. major character death. hurt/comfort. angst with a happy ending. reader is wearing a suit just because. childhood friends. old-not-so-close-friends grieving and coming together after the funeral. when takeomi hit rock bottom. unhealthy coping mechanisms. smoking.
green light ❁ read on ao3
Tumblr media
Takeomi always believed he found Shinichiro first on that one rainy day all those years ago.
Finders keepers. He wouldn’t stand for it to be the other way around because it was all about laying claim on some petty victory that he never had as a boy unentitled to a lot of things, and it went without saying that Sano Shinichiro was one of the best things to come into his life. So he’d take that claim with pride and brandish it around like the flag of the Black Dragons, heralding what was so triumphant and larger than himself and everything else combined.
So when Shinichiro found you, did he ever think the same?
The both of you grew inseparable to the point that he had to wonder where he fit in there.
Takeomi always did on different areas too. It was an insecurity he’d rather not disclose to anyone when he understood early on that he was just an ordinary kid and he’d rather not be reminded of that. Standing next to his childhood friends’ tall shadows was enough, but never once did he feel like leaving. It felt like a place where he could belong, lingering in the shadows of number two.
He knew this was a spot reserved for you, though for whatever reason, you kept refusing him and Shinichiro kept you close anyway. The two of you were like this ever since.
With his arm slung on your shoulder.
Takeomi wondered why he still chased after girls.
Why you never came back to Tokyo, now that was a mystery.
He never bothered to know more since you moved to study in Meidai. It wasn’t like you and him were ever really close; the both of you just had one important link, a tug-of-war sometimes, but the small, unspoken rivalry still came with respect.
Besides if Shin’s happy, then that’s all what mattered, right?
But he wasn’t here anymore. You were.
No one expected that you’d show up in his funeral.
The first to welcome you were the Sanos; open arms in their own kind, solemn way, like you’d been a long, lost relative.
His friends followed after: spoke of condolences, sat quietly, drank cups of sake. Reunions shouldn’t be this depressing.
What would he think, seeing us all broken up like this?
Takeomi would argue that you left them first, though it’s difficult to hold a grudge for so long because he’d learn that things would never last, and it would only take another glimpse of Shinichiro on the casket for him to make a hasty escape to the restroom, the walls of the cubicle closing around him like a constricted throat.
There, kneeled on the edge of the toilet bowl, the world fell under him all over again.
Tumblr media
Takeomi was on a bench from some desolate parking lot, cut in blue and amber by the filthy glow of the lamplight.
“Mind if I sit here?”
You approached him in the weary light, black suit and all. He regarded you with indifference, except for the glasses. Wire-framed, fake. The same pair you used to wear in your brash youth, the ones you probably never needed at all.
Takeomi gave you another once-over before moving a bit to make room for you to sit. "Really honed in on your sociopathic streak, huh."
He was already drought out of pleasantries from the funeral. Honestly, it wasn't like he was pleasant to be with nowadays.
Taking your place next to him, you only nodded off his words with nonchalance, lighting the butt-end of your smoke – Golden Bat, was it? You weren't always this predictable.
"Sure," you mumbled; cigarette wedged between your teeth. Your jaw's a bit slack around it. "You look like shit."
He felt like one too, but he wasn't going to admit it to the likes of you.
You weren't even glancing at him when you told him that. It wasn't an insult, but more like a halfhearted observation. An abrasive one, though that's a language the both of you shared for so long and he welcomed the familiarity with the same, bleak sense of abandon that hung around you.
“Take one,” you insisted.
Then you lifted the pack at him. It’s new and glossy, and he contemplated on the tear from the edge of the box; a tiny scar that remained like an afterthought because you most likely bought a pack of Shin’s favorite brand in a whim, desperate to poison yourself with nostalgia.
He'd mock you for it, if he wasn't in the mood to join you in a smoke break. Nicotine was nicotine. It called for such occasions.
So Takeomi pulled out a cigarette, and you flickered the lighter for him. He thought of the hostesses who used to do this for him, wondering if they got bored repeating the same gestures every night. He took account that your company was free, but you weren't cheap. He could tell from your suit. You looked like a wealthy accountant or something like that.
You could probably buy him out from the massive debt his drowning in right now.
Must be nice being successful in Nagoya. He would've opened the conversation there, if he had a vague idea how to not sound so begrudging about it. If Shinichiro were here, it'd be so much easier, and he'd likely berate him that it was just you.
You, the Specter of the Black Dragons. You, a distant friend from his boyhood.
Just you.
"You don't have to believe me," after all this time, was what you meant to say, but you cradled the sentiment on your lips, wrapped around the miserable cloud of your cigarette, as if to hang onto the taste of something like a memory—or a ghost.
The both of you must've stopped fooling yourselves at some point that this was the closest thing you could get to him.
"But I really loved him."
We all did, he thought, smoking deeply.
Takeomi bought you a can of Suntory from a nearby vending machine.
"Drink up."
He decided to return the favor. For the cigarette, for this sad attempt of a heart-to-heart.
It could never change things back to the good, old times, but at least he could afford to know you a little better.
Tumblr media
“I'm moving back to Tokyo.”
“What, Nagoya ain't good enough for ya?”
“Something like that. I just got a feeling I should be here,” you said after taking another sip of your beer. Takeomi would learn later on that you kept dreaming about Shinichiro ever since his passing; dreams of another time gone, dreams as bittersweet as the rain. You looked up to the night sky. “The air's different.”
“It's just the weather.”
“Hey,” you started. “Can you still tell if it's about to rain?”
Takeomi sighed. “Sometimes.”
It didn't rain, though. Everything was too stagnant, and perhaps for the two of you, the world might as well have been on a standstill upon Shinichiro’s death. It’s a good thing one of you didn’t like to dwell on that for too long – or at least, pretend not to.
“Tell me something else.”
“Like what?”
You hummed in thought. “Tell me about your family.”
Tumblr media
Takeomi did, in measured successions.
Like how he thought he looked more like his father each day, how he regretted not getting Senju the present she wanted for her birthday, and how he hadn't seen Haruchiyo for quite a time when he'd been out running off to god-knows-where.
Because he couldn't bear it, he'd omit the other details too: his father’s uselessness and Haruchiyo's scars. That shameful part about how he couldn't even afford a gift for Senju without splitting the pay with Wakasa and Benkei, even though she'd reassure him that he didn't have to give her anything because she could care less for a present when she already had him.
Takeomi couldn't find it in himself to admit to you that he was broke, though perhaps there had been something about the manner that you had patiently listened to him throughout that made this small, trembling part of him break out into a confession.
"It's all my fault."
"You're harsh on yourself," you remarked, drinking your beer with one last gulp.
"It's true." Takeomi kept his voice somber and firm from cracking into a sob, but for that, he smoked quicker; the stick of his cigarette a lifeline, about to be snuffed out from a despondent drag. You gave him another stick, but the lighter wasn’t working this time, running empty of flames to spit.
Sighing under your breath, you offered the tip of your cigarette, pressed against his, and he sucked in a breath until something smoldered between the both of you.
Though even cinders died too quickly, and after you withdrew yourself back with a warm, languid trail of smoke on your lips, the taste of ashes still lingered—of the past? The present? He saw two things at once nowadays, some kind of screwed up dual vision when you got older, but he couldn’t determine his future anymore.
"I fucked up, and there's no one to blame but me."
Takeomi thought about Shinichiro again, golden like a sunset and an era so brilliant one had to wonder how could it all just fade away? Then he thought about you, mulling over if you’d just been the ruins of what you once were.
Addicts could always tell it from each other: the hopelessness.
Yours were a pair of glasses, a relic of the past, and you became blindsided for it.
"Guilt, huh," you mused wistfully.
Takeomi wondered if that was the only thing you could offer him. He didn’t need any more words of consolation from everyone else, though he figured sharing addictions was more comforting, like two cigarette embers meeting to burn, breathing a little deeper into the air of your lungs to taste what’s always been hurting inside.
Tumblr media
In your company, Takeomi was careful to never mention your brother again.
He liked to think that he's wiser from that time when all of you had still been kids, pushy and volatile from your emotions. Not realizing it was a sensitive matter, he tattled on Shinichiro that your brother was a convicted criminal and you hated him for it; so much apparently that Shinichiro had to intervene between the both of you to reconcile, though he went about it in his stubborn way that drove you to a heated point where it came to you hitting him squarely in the face, giving him a nosebleed.
His memory was a blur in the aftermath. What he could only recall was that you and Shinichiro were always quick to forgive each other.
You and Takeomi, however, ended up in obscurity. The both of you just went talking about something in school the other day and he assumed everything's settled; maybe, partly because of Shin's meddling when he remembered the boy flashing him a thumbs-up at some point.
He wondered if he felt the same encouragement when your mouth grew looser with alcohol.
You were always good at making yourself appear more well-put than most, even after drinking two bottles of sake earlier with your old friends and then a can of beer with him. If your sister accompanied you, she could’ve stopped you from drinking more. He's too certain you didn’t even eat anything, something else devouring you inside from your unfocused gaze; staring but not staring. Were you seeing ghosts?
“I like the way he used to say my name,” you admitted in a slow, pondering tone.
Takeomi sent you an incredulous look, and you let out a wisp of laugh.
“I know. It’s stupid, but I can’t help but think about it now. See, the last time he did was . . . three years ago, I think? It was a butt-dial. Heh, can you believe that? Even dropped his phone right after I picked up. Probably swore something under his breath too. You know how he is when he’s piss-drunk,” which hadn’t always been the case, because Shinichiro could actually hold his alcohol quite well than most of them. So the rare occasion of him getting all wasted was too amusing to pass up when he was the flimsy kind of drunk that acted on his impulses; drunk-texting being his number one offense.
“That idiot could’ve just texted me. Spelled my name wrong or whatever. But no, he had to call at four in the morning,” and then you voiced out your name, like how he must’ve uttered it on the other line. “—he said. He didn’t sound as confused as I thought he was. Or was I just imagining it? Oh, well. Then he asked, how are you?”
“What a mess,” commented Takeomi, shaking his head from second-hand embarrassment.
You chuckled. “I just told him that he’s drunk. Then I shut him off right after.”
Then you took a mirthless drag from your cigarette.
“That’s the last time I heard his voice,” you admitted. “Wish we talked about something more meaningful. Or why he was drunk. If only I just . . .”
You tapped the ashes on the empty beer can with a finger. Some flew on the skin around your fingernail. If you ever got burned, you didn’t show it.
“I hadn’t seen Shin for four years,” you said.
Everyone knew, and at some point, they gave up on you. Shinichiro never did.
“Was he happy?”
He missed you a lot. But Takeomi didn’t tell you that. You looked like you’d shatter, if he did.
“Yeah,” he replied.
“Good,” then another long, painful second. “That’s good.”
That’s enough.
“He didn’t look the same.”
“No one does,” he said. Except for you.
“Over time,” you finished in a murmur, standing up to walk towards the vending machine. “Yeah. I get it.”
“It’s late.” Takeomi heard the crash of your drink on the pick-up box, followed after the pop of a can—of beer, he observed, after sneaking a brief glance at you. “You’ve got somewhere to stay?” he didn’t mean to ask; it’s more like a formality before he’d leave you alone. You had money. There should be a nice place for you somewhere. But.
“No,” you said, and drank some more.
Tumblr media
The both of you took a taxi to his apartment.
You paid for the ride. Rather, you agreed to it in a drunken stupor when you just sluggishly handed him your wallet after he tried asking you to – which, even he’d admit, was sleazy of him, but it wasn’t like he could pay for a taxi. As if taking you to the train station was an option at all.
Whether the driver regarded him with disgust or not didn’t matter. His affairs weren’t his damn business anyway. Besides he was used to the sneers, the backhanded appraisals. He’d already accepted the fact that he was the lowest of the low.
“But you’re better than this,” muttered Takeomi with a tired huff. To you or himself, he wasn’t sure. Though what he did know was that he couldn’t just leave you as you were in the parking lot at this dark hour. So he steadied you like an anchor, keeping your arm around his shoulder, as the elevator creaked open and he led you towards his apartment door; plastered with the month-old signs and casual threats. From gangs, loan sharks, you name it. It was a fucking piece of work.
Not very welcoming, but it served the purpose of making it appear like he abandoned the place for a long time.
“Shoes,” he reminded, and you just kicked them off your feet; haphazardly scattered and out of place in his genkan. Then he walked you inside, careful to not let you stumble on the furniture and the rows of empty glass bottles, until the two of you were in this lonely crevice he called his bedroom.
Once you sunk on the mattress and old sheets, he couldn’t help but think how things wound up like this.
Could’ve been a funny story, but no one’s laughing.
Takeomi gave your shoulder a tentative shake, whispering your name, though you couldn’t be bothered to be woken up by anything.
Would it really make a difference if you had a few missing bills? Would you even remember?
His hand almost reached for your wallet until something abruptly vibrated from the pocket of your pants. Curling his hand into a white-knuckled fist, he picked up your phone instead, flipping it up to see a missed call and the unread messages from your sister in the notifications.
[23:14] it's late. are you still at the funeral? [23:30] where are you? [23:58] text me if you’re coming back
Then he stared back at you from his bed and sighed, typing up a quick reply.
[0:01] At a friend's. I'll be back tomorrow.
“You’ll worry your big sister sick, idiot,” grumbled Takeomi, sitting at the edge of the bed. He placed your phone on the dusty nightstand.
“. . . sorry,” you murmured from your pillow. He bristled from your response before a soft snore rolled out of your mouth, and he finally let out the breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding.
Guilt, huh, he recalled.
Takeomi decided to pull the comforter over you, absentmindedly tucking its edges to your sides in the familiar manner he used to do for his younger siblings.
A dull ache split his chest at the thought. He could feel it throb along the seam of his scar, as if it was the first time. Then he grabbed a pillow and lied down on the floor, staring at the ghost lights of the city smudged on the ceiling.
It reminded him of the quiet melancholia in your eyes.
Maybe, the both of you could talk about it in the morning.

GO FOR IT, HARUCHIYO !
Chapter 2 : The best student
Masterlist
A/n : Because Haruchiyo isn’t only good looking, he’s also smart. The Haitani brothers are twins in my story. If you saw this post already, enter my genjutsu 👀🌀. Now you haven't.
Tumblr media
The first quality of a writer was to know how to captivate their reader with a good story. A story able to tear them from their existence to project them into the heart of the intimacy and truth of the characters. Because what would be the use of books if they didn’t bring the reader back to life, if they failed to make them drink it greedier ?
That was part of the reason you liked literature. Not to escape real life for the sake of an imaginary universe, but to return to the world transformed by your readings. Richer from your travels and encounters in fiction and eager to reinvest them in reality.
But this class-
“Already distracted ?” someone whispered behind your ear.
-was terribly boring.
As you were about to turn around and face him, the teacher called you out.
“L/n-san, do you agree with your classmate ?”
“Yes !” you sounded confident for someone that didn’t know what was happening.
“So you think that what the author wanted to say in this text was that novelists are the greatest liars in history ?”
With wide eyes, you exclaimed :
“What ? No ! Who said that ! The greatest liars in history are politicians. And historians. And journalists. But not novelists !”
You were satisfied with your answer until you heard him snort. You snapped your head to your right to look at the source of the sound. Yes, your answer wasn’t what the teacher was waiting for. Yes, you didn’t even know what text you were studying. And yes, you were lost. But he had no right to make fun of you !
“Ogawa-sensei,” Haruchiyo said as he raised his hand.
“Yes, Akashi-san ?”
“I think what the author wanted to convey through this text is that to write you must be both in the world and out of it.”
What kind of bullshit is this ? you thought. That’s what you get for making me look like a fool !
“You’re exactly right, Akashi-san.”
What ?
You quickly found yourself distracted again, so much that you forgot about the boy behind you. He wasn’t done with you though.
“Not paying attention again ? Wanna live another moment of extreme awkwardness ?” he chuckled, startling you.
This time, you turned around to take a good look at him.
“Hi, new one. I’m Haitani Ran, and this,” he said as he pointed the guy at his right, “is Rindou, my brother.” The latter waved at you.
Long braided hair weirdly bleached - his eyebrows were blond - weirdly dyed in black. No tie in sight. Ear piercing.
Blue and blond strands. Rolled up sleeves. Ear piercing again. Was that a tattoo on his forearm ?
Nope. They’re trouble.
You already had enough with this Akashi bootlicker boy.
“Ah, nice to meet you,” you offered them your best fake smile and quickly went back to your work. Why did you have to be in this class ?
“Alright students. The bell’s about to ring. Don’t forget to finish the exercises for next time. L/n-san, Akashi-san, can you two come here for a sec ?”
“Yes, sensei,” you both said.
You went to his desk, unconsciously racing with Haruchiyo.
“I’ve noticed that you seemed pretty lost, L/n-san. Perhaps you’d like Akashi-san here to help you. He is the best student of your grade and already was last year too. He’s successfully helped some of his classmates so I’m sure he wouldn’t mind helping you out, would you, Akashi-san ?”
He faced you and a smirk bloomed on his face.
“No, I, in fact, wouldn’t mind helping my new classmate at all sensei.”
“No need for that !” you rushed to tell them. “I wouldn’t want to be a bother. Plus, I wasn’t lost, sensei. It was just the stress of the first day,” you nervously laughed.
He stared at you for a few seconds, as if he was analysing your words.
“Well, have it your way but don’t forget that you can always count on Akashi-san. Until next time.”
Akashi-san here, Akashi-san there ! You were tired of him !
“I won’t forget,” you reluctantly muttered.
Best student of your grade ? You never did much academically talking but now you were fired up. You’d do anything to beat him. Oh your parents were going to be so proud.
“Akashi-senpai !” a girl shouted, emphasizing the “ai”, “I really, really need your help in math please !”
According to the color of her shoes, she was a second year.
“Come by again at lunch time. I’m about to have art class now.”
“Thanks Akashi-kun ! You really are the best !”she beamed and bowed.
Wasn’t he Akashi-san two seconds ago ?
A bit more and her forehead would touch the ground.
“Ah,” he smiled, “It’s my role as your senpai.” He tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. “I can’t let my kouhai down.” Her eyes were glowing.
You had never cringed so hard in your entire life.

Let’s Talk About Satoko
Tumblr media
A lot went wrong in Sotsu, but I think the biggest problem was this: it failed to make its main character sympathetic.
.
When I consider the strengths of the When They Cry series, one of the major aspects that stands out to me is its tragic and sympathetic antagonists. In both Higurashi and Umineko, despite the monstrous actions of the culprits, I still found myself rooting for them. Not to succeed at their self-destructive goals, of course, but for someone to finally reach out to them and stop them.
So I’m still kind of reeling in shock and confusion at how badly SotsuGou failed on that front, when I had previously considered this area to be one of the highlights of Ryukishi’s writing. I’d spent this whole season valiantly hoping and trying to theorize otherwise, but I now have to conclude that Satoko was a one-dimensional villain. One who doesn’t show a shred of remorse or even appear to be affected by all the violence she inflicts to the very end.
Tumblr media
Indeed, the finale has Rika be the one to apologize, with Satoko even saying her actions were worth it!
How did this go so wrong? Especially when compared to original Higurashi or Umineko, a tragic Satoko should have been easy mode! She starts off as a pre-existing character the audience has sympathy for, she has the instant feels backstory of looping to try to change something and failing, and she even got 13 whole episodes of Sotsu to focus on her and show her perspective!
But despite all of that, the writing seemed determined to make her as dislikeable as possible. There were plenty of ways to add nuance and complexity to her motives (see: all the fan analysis and even some Ryukishi interviews), but instead it doubled down on her selfishness, her possessiveness, and her just... not wanting to study. And on top of that, during the first few -akashi arcs, Satoko commits her murders gleefully, barely facing the slightest setback or twinge of conscience. So aside from the (too little, too late, and never touched on again until a blink and you’ll miss it line in the finale) fight between two Satokos in Episode 10, there’s no reason to care about the ostensible protagonist. Instead of building to a conclusion where you want Satoko to be forgiven, she just becomes increasingly uncomfortable to watch and her relationship with Rika increasingly hard to root for.
I kept waiting and waiting and waiting for this Satoko to finally get some character development. I even wrote fanfic predicated on that development. Given the patterns of past WTC works, it seemed so obvious that it had to happen for the story to work!
But then it just… didn’t happen.
And thus, the story as a whole didn’t work either. Because the emotional foundation of the anime was resting on the audience being invested in Satoko and Rika’s relationship, with their separation being framed as bittersweet. Because again, the finale has Rika be the one to apologize, implying the audience was supposed to be on Satoko’s side this whole time. Because everything around the anime - the music and visuals of the OP/ED, the promotional art, etc. - were emphasizing the beauty and pathos of a tragedy, not a one-sided yandere rampage.
Tumblr media
(Seriously, what happened to this Satoko? There’s nothing like her or the symbolism of this moment from the OP in the show!)
All I can conclude is that this unsympathetic Satoko was somehow a failure in execution, because it makes no sense for the tone or themes of the rest of the narrative. According to Ryukishi himself, this wasn’t meant to be the story of Rika escaping her abusive, toxic friend! It was supposed to be the story of two mistaken friends both learning to understand each other better!
But as Sotsu wore on, fewer and fewer people saw it that way, and I can’t blame them.
And unfortunately, this massive tonal dissonance casts a cloud that overshadows everything else about the anime. Had the character beats landed strongly, I could probably have forgiven the poor pacing, structural problems, and over-the-top gore. But when the fundamental emotional center is off, then even an otherwise stellar story would be in deep trouble. And this show did not recover from it - indeed, the other problems just compounded with it.
Indeed, I think even fanfiction is going to struggle to recover from it. Now every SatoRika fic, every LambdaBern fic is going to have to grapple with Satoko/Lambda’s odd lack of remorse or trauma.
Tumblr media
So what got us to this point? Well… I think at least one big component of it is that the writers - Ryukishi or Passione or both - failed to flesh out the actual character arcs.
Looking back on Sotsu (and even Gou’s!) plot beats in hindsight, it’s all just so janky. Satoko shows zero internal conflict, until suddenly she gets in a fight between her witch and human halves. Hanyuu is completely absent from the plot, until she’s suddenly half the focus of the finale. Eua is an enigma whose only purpose is to laugh about being entertained, even to the very end. And Rika gets it perhaps worst of all, completely clueless and passive until miraculously she understands everything just in time for a final battle.
There's no sense of build up, of progression. There were several raw ideas and character interactions that could have been interesting, but they never actually went anywhere.
In some cases it even feels like there were plot beats that were outright dropped or missing. Eua threatening Satoko with a world without Rika should she fail? Satoko’s conflict between her witch and her human self? Anything dealing with the other club members?
None of those ideas actually go anywhere, so I’m left scratching my head at their inclusion.
But regardless of how it happened, the result is clear: none of the characters ultimately important to the plot - Satoko, Rika, Eua, or Hanyuu - had any meaningful development during Sotsu. The characters literally froze in place for 13 episodes while the audience’s patience slowly ran out. Sure, the reused footage didn’t help either, but I think it was this lack of development that truly sealed the show’s fate - including that of Satoko in the eyes of the fandom.

Title: Opposites Attract Teaser (BOKUTO X FEM! READER)
Pairings: Bokuto Koutaro x fem! Reader
Warnings: None
Word Count:
Note: So, I'll give you a name just so we can drop the (Y/N), you will be named Ishi Mizuki, this story can also be classified as bokuto x oc since I'm giving a name and building a personality for the character but it is only because I want to give the reader more feels on the story. I hope it works.
•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•
Tumblr media
“So, the freak first years from Karasuno is not showing up, is that it?” Bokuto asked Kuro, he's been waiting to meet the famous duo of Karasuno but he doesn't see any trace of them. The Nekoma's captain looked at his friend and smirk, “Don't be too excited Bokuto. They failed tests and had to retake it. They'll probably here anytime soon, if they pass their make up tests.” Bokuto pouted and crossed his arms over his chest, “Man! Can't they study for a bit and pass the exams?” Akashi appeared behind the ace and lookrd at him lazily.
“Bokuto-san, you're not the one to talk. You failed your Math exam didn't you?”
“AKASHI YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSE TO SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THAT!” He growled.
Kuro laughed at Bokuto, delighted of the pissed look on the owl's face but his laughter was cut off when he heard a loud feminine voice.
“Sorry for being late!”
Bokuto's head snapped towards the direction of the voice and he froze upon seeing a girl standing in between two guys, he saw the players of Karasuno walked towards the newcomers and greeted them.
“Mizuki-chan!” you immediately bowed to greet your upperclassmen and apologized for the delay, “Thank you big sis, glad these three made it alive—Hinata?!” your gaze settled on the first year beside you and your eyes widened when he puked.
Everyone who was watching the scene panicked, even the players from the other school are in chaos, “GIVE ME THE MOP! BOKUTO! THE MOP!” Kuro shouted and Bokuto looked around him, “MOP! AKASHI MOP!” while everyone was panicking the lady managers are all calm and they gave you a mop.
“Thank you! Sorry for the inconvenience.”
They took Hinata on the sides while you cleaned his mess, after cleaning the poor first year ran towards you and apologized. “I'm sorry! I'm sorry Mizuki-san!” you chuckled and pat his head, “It's nothing. Go ahead and get changed.” when he went off to change his clothes you walked towards Shimizu and Yachi.
“How was their exam?”
“It went well as far as I know. They probably didn't get the 90 points so I think the vice principal pulled some strings for the two.”
“We've been anxious since earlier. We kept on losing sets.” Yachi told you with a pout.
••••
“Bokuto-san, is there anything wrong?” Akashi asked the moody ace, Bokuto in return, turn to him and shook his head. “N-Nothing...” the setter didn't believe him but he chose to ignore the sudden behavior of Bokuto.
Fukurodani's ace is doing fine yet he's been quiet ever since earlier, Bokuto's gaze has been fixed on one direction ever since earlier, his eyes would wander around for a second and then it will settle on that direction again.
“So you're 5'7 Mizuki-chan? You're tall! You're a second year right? You will still grow.” Kaori told you, you felt your cheeks heatened up and smiled at her. “Well, I stopped growing a year ago. Maybe this is my final height.” you told her.
Bokuto was once again in awe of what he saw, sure, he is a guy who's been meeting every kind of beauty now and then. He's well known in school and sometimes he doesn't even have to lift a finger to catch a female's attention because they're the ones who would do something to be noticed by him.
But right now, he has seen a beauty that he has never seen in years of his existence, He actually forgot how long he has been staring at you, he actually almost messed up in his game versus Nekoma because you were watching them.
He was not the type to be so observant in his surroundings, most of the times he fail to see small details but as he watched you ever since you arrived with the first years of Karasuno, he already memorized some things about you.
You're a quiet one, really shy—you're always blushing whenever someone is talking to you, it doesn't matter if it was a female or not you're always shy, you bite your lower lip a lot, you also love blowing the strands of your hair away and he noticed how you would always look down whenever someone would go towards your way.
He smiled to himself as he saw you laugh with the other managers, it was the first time that he saw you laugh on this day, and he hopes he'll be seeing you laugh tomorrow as well.
