#adrien knows that marinette's a comedy genius

I really like Marichat, I find it like the side of the love square, superior. mostly because they are the most genuine version of them
Marinette can be more relaxed with Chat Noir without the Ladybug mask, she doesn't have a burden of proving to be the 'best person in the room' she can be herself in a more relaxed way with Chat noir, since that is her partner, one of her best friends, she knows him and knows the type of person Chat is, she knows the good type with a good heart and now she can be her friend in a more genuine way for her.
Then there is Adrien's side, who now like Chat can see another side of Marinette, from his perspective he thinks that Marinette doesn't like Adrien from the beginning and that's why she gets very nervous around him, so he really hasn't known Marinette, he knows the general thing, he's seen her actions towards others and he admires her but they've never really had a long and serious talk so it's a new perspective for him to talk to Marinette as Chat. Without Adrien's weight.
They are both much more genuine, each knowing the other's other identities and feeling relaxed because they know their character. Also, without their interactions as Marichat we would not have had the love square inversion, which although I complain about the last seasons, that was one of the writing peaks, thank you very much
I really think a lot about Marichat. them just being dumb like. Marinette saying that Chat's puns are dumb and then laughing when Chat tells her a new one because he's so genuine and she can only laugh because 'how did you add cat to that?' you-ha!" Chat is a goofy comedy genius and it gets Marinette.every. time
and then Chat just has fun listening to Marinette's inspirational things while she's starting to doit something new. the excitement and the erratic way she immerses herself in every little thing. Adrien admires her a lot
Ladybug and Adrien are an important part of their personalities. Yeah. But Marinette and Chat Noir are the part of them that can allow themselves to be freer. So like freedom found, they both feel very comfortable with each other.

Hey fren! I’ve decided I wanna start trying to get to know my moots a bit better so here is your…
Question of the day!
What are your top five favorite TV shows at the moment and why?
Anyways have a good rest of your day fren!
Hello fren!! Top five shows, hmm...
The order will shift around depending on my mood but at this specific moment the order I'd give my top 5 shows would be...
5. Haikyuu!!
My gym class recently did a volleyball unit which is why I currently have hq on the brain. I'd say it's consistently in the top 10 but usually not in the top 5, it is for now tho
It's just an anime about a highschool volleyball team full of idiots and it's hilarious
My favorite character is Kenma bc he's relatable. He doesn't even like volleyball he's only on the team because his friend said he should join... He just wants to go home and play video games... What a mood
This is always the video I show people when explaining this show to them bc... Yeah. It's hilarious
youtube
4. Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir
The token not-anime on this list is an anime-inspired french cartoon and honestly? That's hilarious
So our protagonist, Marinette Dupain-Cheng, becomes the superhero Ladybug using a magical pair of earrings and works alongside her superhero partner Chat Noir (who uses a magical ring) to defend the city of Paris.
What she doesn't realize is that Chat Noir is actually also her classmate and crush, Adrien Agreste. Additionally, Adrien/Chat Noir is in love with Ladybug and unaware that she is also Marinette, his classmate and "good friend".
It's kinda infuriating to watch but also very fun~
3. Himouto Umaru-chan!
This one hasn't been nearly this high up in a while but I rewatched the first 4 episodes this past weekend and remembered how good it was so here we are! The fandom is, unfortunately, painfully small...
Our protagonist Umaru, is smart, athletic, beautiful, and kind. She's the perfect highschool girl-- at least, that's what everyone believes. The truth is, once she gets home, she becomes a spoiled brat! She lazes around playing video games and eating junk food all day, leaving her brother to do all the cooking and cleaning after coming home from a long day at work, and screaming and crying whenever he refuses to buy the new game she wants. She goes to absurd lengths to hide her true nature from her friends and all the general shenanigannery in this show is hilarious. Basically it's just a comedy/slice-of-life show.
2. Ouran Highschool Host Club
I'm not even gonna bother explaining this one too much. If you watch it you get it, if you don't you don't. Even though this is one of my favorite shows of all time I cannot possibly recommend it to anyone I actually know because I feel like they're gonna watch the first episode and be like, "dang, Kata watches this? She's into some weird stuff." AND I'M NOT OK YOU JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND GNVNCHXBFBXJGJDB
Basic idea is this:
Girl tries to find quiet place to study after school
Girl accidentally wanders into host club and breaks a vase worth eight million yen
Girl poses as a boy to work as a host in order to pay off her debt
Other boys working as hosts lowkey fall in love with her???
That's it that's all you need to know! There's a lot more to it than that but you don't need to know anything about the absolute absurdity of this show. Do not inquire further.
1. Dr. STONE
This is it, the number one show in my present opinion. It's got everything-- dramatic epic moments, funny jokes, and THE POWER OF SCIENCE
Aight so. Basically. Some weird beam of light turns all the people on earth into stone. They're all stuck that way for 3700 years, until one day, our protagonist, Senku, wakes up. He also happens to be a genius when it comes to science, which is good because that is exactly what people need right now!!
Basically the show is Senku and friends using THE POWER OF SCIENCE to warp humanity through millennia of history, from the stone age back to the modern day. And the best part is that, aside from the beam of light that turns people to stone, everything else is real science! It's entertaining to watch AND educational!
Unlike #2, I would recommend this show to anyone and everyone. Watch it, I insist

Gale’s Top Ten: Favorite ML Characters
Similar to my Least Favorite list, I am going STRICTLY by how I enjoy the person’s character in Canon only.  This is also my opinion, so Odds are you won't agree exactly with my list. and it does get a bit rambley
Let me know what your favorite characters are, I would love to hear about them.
_____________________________________________________________________
10. Juleka Couffaine:
Tumblr media
Interestingly While her Brother made the other list, Juleka is a character I find very interesting. She gets a lot of funny quips and comments which you wouldn't expect from the quiet girl. She is actually one of the class that I find has an interesting character, she wants to model, but is lacking in confidence and finds herself in situations where she is photographed badly. She has anxiety but she still tries to live her dreams. She is a supportive Girlfriend Friend to Rose, a trust worthy member of the Help Mari bag Adrien club, and also just adorable. I love seeing her on screen and her akuma, while interesting in design has quite an interesting performance that is always fun to enjoy. Heck, the producers of the show used her Akuma THREE TIMES in season 3. She is a rocker girl with a soft side, and she actually helps give Luka a good chunk of his personality (so there is so MAJOR points for that.
9. Alya Cesaire / Rena Rouge:
Tumblr media
Marinette’s blogger best friend and Fox Heroine of Paris. Alya has a lot of personality. Dedicated to finding the truth and being a good Wingwoman to Marinette. Alya does have a few faults, where she gets carried away in whatever catches her interest and sometime pushes Marinette in scenarios that can be considered Awkward, but she always has the best intentions and will fight for her friend. Now A LOT of people have recently become very bold with their feelings of negativity towards the girl, (salty fans) And I know an au or two have not been kind to her (one in particular that came out during Oblivio comes to mind). But I am not judging on Fandom criteria or salty au’s. I like Alya’s character and I can't wait to see more.
8. Lê Chiến Kim / King Monkey
Tumblr media
The energetic Athlete who may be a bit slow on the uptake, but always down for a dare. He is the embodiment of endearing and he always makes me laugh when on screen. I just love how much energy he has. He is a dork and he doesn't give a damn what you say. One of the few characters that got even better in season 3, I love this monkey boy and his wonderful antics. Nothing more to it except, only he would bring a swimsuit in a train.
7. Max Kante / Pegasus
Tumblr media
Our robot making class genius got a heck of an upgrade during season 3. His character shining like a diamond. He rocks his transformation, his relationship with his mom, best robo bud Markov, and his dynamic with the jock bro Kim are all wonderful. He gains mad respect for Marinette and I just love how he plays off of everyone. The boy is smart and has a way of getting a few good moments in pretty much any episode.
6. Alix Kubdel both Present and Future:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Whether she is a roller blading graffiti artist with some cute sarcasm or a time lord that is simply trying to correct history, Alix is a character I enjoy seeing on screen at any interval. I think if I HAD to pick, I lean towards present Alix, because I find her much funnier, plus her dynamic with EVERYONE is great, I was especially loving her bits with her bff Nathanael. but Bunnyx has me curious on a LOT of things regarding the future. Though her reveal did mean that adults got no time limit on powers seems like a cop out, but if the price is seeing Bunnyx then its Time well spent.
5. Kagami Tsurugi/ Ryuuko:
Tumblr media
Okay, I know there are a lot of people that are not a fan of Kagami. You are wrong, but that is your opinion. Kagami is easily one of the most interesting characters in Miraculous ladybug. She is a mirror (like her name implies) of both Adrien and Marinette. She reflects the feelings Adrien has, growing up with a controlling parent with hardly any free time that enjoys fencing and just wants to make friends. She reflects Marinette’s crush on Adrien, both seeing him as the sweet guy underneath and not for shallow reasons. Kagami’s confidence paralleling Marinette’s when she is driven. Kagami can also be hilariously awkward and really wants to make friends. Her time as Ryuuko is also a delight to see. Now I know some people are all complaining that her characterization is inconsistent, and honestly, I don't see it. Kagami has always been an intense person, when she wants something, she goes for it, even if she is unsure of how things will turn out (her feelings for Adrien) or how to go about it (Trying to make friends with Marinette) She is honest to the letter and I think that is something very admirable.
4. Nino Lahiffe / Carapace
Tumblr media
GIVE HIM MORE SCREEN TIME!
Nino is Adrien’s best bro. Nino goes out of his way to be supportive and caring for Adrien. The boy got akumatized because he was pissed at Adrien’s dad for NOT letting his son celebrate his birthday! Nino is so loyal, both as a bff or as a BF. He is a caring older brother and a cool superhero. The Dj/ Film director wannabe is a chill and fun dude that Totally deserves Wayzz (More then another turtle I know *Cough* Cough*)
I honestly can't find a single thing to dislike about Nino, he is just such a good dude. Sure he can be a bit of a foot in mouth guy, and can be a bit naive on somethings, but he is such a bro you can't help but love him.
3. Plagg
Tumblr media
It Physically hurts me that I can't put him higher on this list. The two in the main spot are just in Leagues of their own. Plagg is the most developed Character in the series and I will FIGHT ANYONE on that. Plagg starts out as selfish and only caring about cheese but becomes a friend and Confidant to Adrien. He cares about his blond son and wants to see that boy happy and safe. He does know the rules and if he knows Adrien is not doing the right thing (i.e. trying to be another hero when he is chat noir) he will call him out on it. But Plagg also encourages Adrien’s teen rebellion, such as when he was so proud of Adrien sneaking out to go to London with his class. Plagg is the perfect Kwami for Adrien and his jokes and Banter is the best part of the show’s comedy. I love this little entity of destruction and I want more of him.
2. Adrien Agreste / Chat noir
Tumblr media
Honestly Numbers one and two are interchangeable, but I think Adrien fits perfectly as the second spot on the list. I love how compassionate and caring he is. Adrien is an interesting character. In season 1 you would find that Adrien and Chat noir were pretty much opposites, Adrien was calm, obedient, composed, almost formal, while Chat noir was wild, flirty, impulsive, rebellious and a wisecracker. Both forms maintain his need to help others and his passionate love for his friends and his Lady.
Adrien/ Chat noir’s dynamic with Marinette/ Ladybug is always a delight to see, changing depending on which side is being seen. The flirty chat with Ladybug, the sweet love struck Adrien with Ladybug, The cocky yet caring Chat with Marinette, and the Sweet caring friend Adrien to Marinette. The love square allows for exploration of their character and I wish we could have seen it better utilized. Chat noir loves Ladybug, even if she doesn't love him the same way, he still fights by her side and will do anything for her. (a few minor bumps, but hey it happens, he is allowed a few hiccups)
As the series goes on, Adrien starts acting more rebellious, starts joking more, even a bit more flirty, he starts becoming more comfortable with himself and others, he even lets himself be selfish at times. He cares about others and he is afraid of being locked away alone. His fear of being alone has made him very naive and trusting of others, willing to overlook behavior to an extent, with the exception that it doesn't hurt anyone he cares about. (Lila being someone that has crossed this line, and seeing Adrien actually being intimidating for once.) Is he flawed? Yes. That what I love about him, he is portrayed at this perfect model, but that is more of a mask then Chat noir, and Adrien is slowly peeking out and I can't wait to see him shatter it completely.
1. Marinette Dupain Cheng /Ladybug
Tumblr media
What can I say about this lovable daughter of mine?
She is without a doubt one of the best teen hero main characters I have ever seen. (And I am taking Kim Possible Level, Danny Phantom level)
Marinette is creative, caring, compassionate, competent, clumsy, competitive, considerate, and a bunch more C words that mean good things. She is a top notch designer, guardian in training, and all she wants is to win over her crush, who she doesn't know is in love with her alter ego.
Marinette has a LOT going for her and I enjoy how she overreacts and I find myself relating to her in a lot of ways. Though she is worlds more competent then I will ever be, and she is 14.
Marinette also takes the weight of the world on her shoulders, always having to plan ahead, always having to be ready, and now she is the guardian.
I can talk on and on about how amazing she is and how interesting her flaws are, but I feel so many other people have talked about that to death. I will simply say that she is very likable.
She gets the audience to WANT her to succeed, she is so selfless that you feel for her everytime something doesn't go well for her. The season 3 finale felt Like LITTERAL Knives in my back seeing how much unnecessary pain she was in, all because of something that really wasn't her fault. (I am still salty about the finale) I really want her to be happy, and I hope she and Adrien do get together in season 4. Or I will be flying over to Paris and Punching EVERY PERSON writer at Zagtoon. INCLUDING a punch to Thomas so hard his non-existent grandkids will hear it.
Back on target.
Marinette is a delight and I am glad Miraculous ladybug exists because it introduced us to an amazing Heroine and Character.

Adrinette April -17- Bumping Into Each Other
@adrinetteapril
Previous chapter
(I have lofty goals of actually getting this on ff.net sometime today or tomorrow. We’ll see what RL has in store for me. I’ll post the link when I do.)
Chapter 17 - Bumping Into Each Other
Adrien made sure his bedroom door was locked as soon as he was inside. Then he ran to his bed and dropped the Peacock Miraculous like it had burned him.
To think, they expected him to—
“Well, this complicates things,” Plagg remarked, also eyeing the brooch like a poisonous snake.
“I can’t use it, can I?”
“Absolutely not,” the black cat huffed. “We kwamis don’t share!”
“What about the earrings?” Adrien asked, raising an eyebrow. “Isn’t the whole point of this whole debacle to combine them with the power of the ring?”
“That’s different, kid. Tikki’s my counterpoint. My other half. The Yin to my Yang—or am I the Yin? Ehh, it really depends on our bearers, it’s gone both ways in the past…”
“Plagg, focus!”
“Right. Well, the point is, Tikki and I were made to work together. Me and Bird-Brain there,” Plagg said indicating the brooch, “were not. If you want to use it, you’ll have to renounce me first.”
“Renounce you?” Adrien repeated.
“Deny. Discard. You’ll have to reject the ring.”
“I can’t do that!”
“I agree. I’m much better than Feather Head.”
“So, what should I do?” Adrien moaned. “I can’t give it back to them!”
“Nope, that’s a Bad Idea,” Plagg agreed.
Not only would they become suspicious again, but the whole ‘giving superpowers to the bad guys’ didn’t really sit well with Adrien. Plus they might choose somebody else to wield it, and then he’d have three supervillains after him!
He cringed a little bit at labeling Ladybug a supervillain, but right now, it was true….
“No worries, kid,” Plagg was saying. “I know a guy who can take this off our hands. I’ll put the coordinates in the baton.”
“Plagg, I can’t transform into Chat Noir!” Adrien exclaimed. “They’re probably just waiting for me to come out… in—in full peacock-transformation mode!”
“Boy, are you bad at naming things….”
“You know what I mean!”
“So, what’s the plan then, genius?” Plagg asked, looking at him suspiciously. Adrien looked at him, then at the Brooch. Slowly, hesitantly, he took off his ring.
“Plagg... I renounce you.”
A few minutes later, a blue figure swooped out of the mansion, whooping loud enough to attract attention. Ladybug raced outside to catch a glimpse of him, but when she tried to catch up to the quick figure, he was nowhere to be found.
Pouting a bit (Adrien in a skin-tight suit! Adrien in a skin-tight suit! Who wouldn’t want to see Adrien in a skin-tight suit?!), she tried to call him on her compact. He didn’t answer. She didn’t worry too much though. It had taken her a few tries to figure it all out too. She’d just give him some time to himself, to feel the joy of being a superhero.
Part of her felt guilty at replacing Chat Noir like this—a really big part.
But still, what would Adrien call himself? Blue Bird? Plume Bleu? Le Peon? Whatever it was, it was sure to be great!! Oh, she was so excited!!
Marinette didn’t see Adrien again until his bodyguard dropped him off for school later.
“Adrien! Adrien!” she called. He waved nervously, looking slightly-less-than-happy to see her. She ignored it. He was probably just nervous, now that he knew her secret identity! She looked him up and down, searching for the Peacock Miraculous. “Where’s your brooch?” she asked, not finding it.
“O-oh that… am I supposed to wear it all the time?” he asked nervous.
“Yes!” she scolded, hands on her hips. “How else is it supposed to protect you?”
“My bad,” he said, laughing awkwardly and rubbing the back of his neck. “Oops, it looks like class is about to start! I’ll go get it at lunch, okay?”
“Okay,” Marinette pouted, a bit disappointed that she still hadn’t seen him transform yet.
At lunch, Adrien rushed out the door before she could join him. Oh well, it’d been a while since she’d eaten lunch with her parents, Marinette decided. She just had to be patient.
After lunch, she managed to catch him just before class.
“Well?” she asked, trying—really trying—to be patient. Adrien smiled and opened his jacket, showing her the little silver brooch shaped like a flower (the same one he’d often seen his mother wear,) that he’d pinned to the inside of the fabric.
“I didn’t want it to get in the way of photoshoots,” he explained. “Now I don’t have to constantly take it on and off.”
“Makes sense,” Marinette said, shrugging. “But it kinda looks like Sabrina’s old brooch that Chloe gave her.”
“Oh, uh… yeah,” Adrien said, biting his lip and looking nervous again. “Turns out, my father has a whole line of jewelry based off the Miraculouses. His ‘inspiration,’ you know….”
“That must be where Lila got her necklace from too!”
Adrien nodded. “Well, we’d better get inside… don’t wanna be late….”
“Aww, can’t I meet your kwami first?” Marinette pouted.
“He’s, uh, shy,” Adrien said sharply, heading into class.
Marinette frowned after him. “He? I thought Hawkmoth said Duusu was a she?”
“Duusu is a kwami,” Tikki grumbled from her purse, sticking her head out to glare at her bearer. “We can be any gender we want.”
“Oh, you’re talking to me now?”
“Just clearing things up,” Tikki said primly. She disappeared back into the bag. The bell rang. Marinette had to dive into her seat before the teacher saw her.
“Hey, Adrien! What are you doing after school?” Marinette asked. She was hoping to finally see him transform. And maybe he could even meet Tikki. He was so sweet, her kwami was sure to cheer up!
“I asked my father for an extra photoshoot this afternoon,” Adrien said, heading towards his car. “So, I’ll be busy. Don’t worry, I’ll be safe. See you tomorrow.”
Marinette blinked in shock as he left. “You… you asked for another photoshoot?”
Alya came up behind her. “Has Adrien seemed weird to you lately?” she asked casually.
“N-n-n-no, no! Of course not!” Marinette said quickly. “He’s just—very dedicated to his job….”
“He’s avoiding you, isn’t he,” Alya deadpanned.
“N-n-no! No! That’s not—”
“Why else were you fired?” Alya asked raising an eyebrow.
“I wasn’t! I wasn’t fired… he just… found… a better solution,” Marinette’s shoulders drooped.
“C’mon, girl,” Alya said firmly. “We’re having an ice-cream-and-comedy night at my place. I’ll call Nino and tell him no boys allowed.”
“B-but—”
She really wanted to see Adrien transform!
“No buts, girl. You need this. Come on.”
The next day, Marinette was filled with excitement and energy. Gabriel was (reluctantly) letting her shadow Adrien again today. Today was the day!
“Adrien! Would you like to join Alya and me for lunch?” Marinette asked, holding up a picnic basket. “Nino can come too!”
“Great!” Nino said, looking delighted.
“Sorry,” Adrien said, gathering his things, “I promised Chloe I’d eat with her today. It’s been awhile since we’ve hung out together, and you know how she is….”
“O-of course!” Marinette said, smiling and waving. Adrien gave her a small smile before he left.
“H-hey, Adrien! Do you want to grab some supper?” Marinette asked, after a particularly long photoshoot.
“No thanks, Marinette,” Adrien smiled. “You should go eat with your family. I’ve kept you away from them long enough!
Today was not the day.
Neither was the next day.
“Adrien, could you help me with my physics homework after school?” Marinette asked bashfully. “I’m stuck on number eight.”
Adrien rubbed his neck in embarrassment. “I kinda promised Nino that we could have a guy’s night tonight, Marinette. Sorry, I forgot to tell you….”
“Oh,” Marinette said, her hopes dropping, “that’s okay. No problem!”
“But you’re getting much better at physics,” he quickly added. “I bet you’ll have it figured out in no time!”
“Dude, are you avoiding Marinette?” Nino asked lowly as Adrien joined him in the library without the girls once again.
“Of course not,” Adrien said without any emotion. “There’s no way I could. I literally have to see her every day. She’s part of my schedule.”
Nino stared at him with wide eyes. “Do you wanna talk about it?” he asked slowly.
“Not particularly.”
“Okaaay,” Nino said. “But you know I’m here for you when you’re ready to talk, right?”
Adrien fingered the silver ring on his hand. “Thanks, man.”
End Chapter 17.

Do you have any tips for good marichat fanfics?
Sorry it took so long to respond, but I was looking through my bookmarks and subscriptions to make this list. But it’s finally here: a list of some my favorite Marichat stories. Some very popular, some not as popular, but wonderful. In no particular order, except the first one.
MARICHAT REC LIST
Ne Me Quitte Pas by @imatrisarahtopsn - This was the fic that sold me on Marichat, for its slow burn. It is so cute, and Chat Noir is so sweet with Marinette. Also funny and has my favorite akuma name: Cafiend (it’s been almost a year, and I’m still not over that XD) Completed.
Broken Hearts Club by @frostedpuffs - Marinette and Chat Noir get rejected by their respective loves and end up in a strange friendship with whom they rejected. This story is so beautiful and has wonderful characterizations, it is one of my current favorites. Ongoing.
A sure thing by @baneismydragon - Part of a series, but it can be read as a standalone. Kind of Adrinette, but mostly Marichat. Where Chat Noir makes a bet with Marinette for her to confess Adrien. Only two chapters long, and super adorable! Complete.
Wait, what? by @khaleisey - Volpina switch, with Marinette being the illusion. This is just a funny one-shot reveal. A quick must read. Complete
Plant by @foolish-idiot - It’s basically a metaphor of the growth of their relationship, and it is beautiful. Short, but so worth the read. Complete.
Quiet Ice, Silent Nights by @thelastpilot - A winter fanfic, where Chat Noir sees Marinette ice-skating in the dead of the night, and later decides to help her for a competition. It’s beautiful, and is even more beautiful when you read it with the piano song linked in the story. Complete.
Drunken Confessions by @my-insanity-is-an-artform - Based on the tumblr prompt ‘I like someone else’. While everyone else did angst, this genius here made drunken comedy gold in a one-shot. Completed.
The Purrincess and The Chat by @sinnamon-toast-chat - This is cuteness with hilarious internal monologue, courtesy of Adrien Agreste. I like this one in particular for its characterizations. Completed.
Stray Chat by @pozolegirl - Roomate AU, where Marinette has no idea Adrien ran away from home, but knows she has Chat Noir for a roomate. Funny, cute, and just wonderful for so much more. A must read. Completed.
chat noooo by @imthepunchlord - Chat Noir gets high on catnip. That’s all I need to say. Complete.
On The Prowl by @ghostgirl19posts - Criminal Chat Noir AU. No miraculouses, where Chat Noir is a cat-burglar, but is not as bad as he seems. Ladybug shows up later in the fic. Really, it’s a lot of fun to read. Complete.
When Duty and Desire Meet written by @midnightstarlightwrites and illustrated by @edendaphne - Older Chat and Reverse Crush AU. Not only is it wonderfully written, but the illustrations are gorgeous. A very unique experience and a wonderful collection of interconnected one-shots. Ongoing.
That’s all I got for now. Reminder that these are Marichat only. For other stories, I would need to make a different list. But these ones are some of my favorites from this side of the love square.
Happy reading!
