In a powerful show of solidarity, SAG-AFTRA members have voted 97.91% in favor of a strike authorization ahead of negotiations of the TV/Theatrical Contracts. SAG-AFTRA begins negotiations on June 7 with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. The affirmative vote on the authorization empowers the union’s National Board to initiate a strike if the AMPTP won’t reach a fair deal with the union. The current SAG-AFTRA TV/Theatrical Contracts expire at midnight on June 30, 2023.

If a movie/show is badly written 90% of the time it’s because studios asked for revisions that made the project worse or had excessively tight deadlines.

Or asked a complete project to continue another decade. Or writers were promised 22 episodes and got 10. Like so much bad writing is the fault of studio execs fucking things up and writers rolling with the punches as best they can.

I want to enjoy movies and shows again, and a big part of that is having writers rooms that have time to make a good story and writers who aren’t too busy trying to figure out what combination of coupons means they can eat and pay rent that month to write anything good.

He stuck his hand out, his silver rings reflecting the rays of sun that seeped through the small window. I glanced down for a second and gripped it tightly, relishing in the sensation of his flesh against my own. Warm and soft, sending sparks along my skin. If only a few hours prior, I knew what were about to happen.

Backpacks in hand, we boarded the plane, wide smiles painted across our faces at the thought of the wonderful getaway before us. Just me and my closest friend, away to warm sunny beaches, mouthwatering food, and sights beyond our imaginations. We were practically bursting with excitement.

"Aisle 7, is it?"

"That's right"

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and..7. This was ours. The seat by the window was already taken, the stranger buried deep in what seemed to be a script.

It was only once we had settled down that I managed to get a proper glance at the man. I couldn't believe what I saw. Of course, it could be a resemblance, but oh, how accurate would it have to be. No, it had to be him!

I bit my lip, excitement, panick, and uncertainty running through me. I turned to my friend, whose eyebrows were already raised in question. All I could give back was a subtle nod. It had to be him. It had to be Timothée.

Oh, what was I to do? I had always dreamt of an encounter, but how was I to go about it? He seemed so deeply absorbed in his script; I'd never wish to impose.

Just then, an idea stiked me, a way of still getting his attention, without seeming too pressing. I reached a hand into my backpack, slyly producing my copy of Dune. I hoped will my might he'd notice and take the hint.

I stole a glance his way, getting comfortable, and opened up the book, cover pointing towards him.

Another glance in his direction, hoping to catch a reaction of some sorts yet his eyes remained glued to the paper before him.

A nudge from my friend, "Oi, what are you up to?"

"Just watch," I assured her. I cracked the phone of the spine of the book and made sure to produce a loud cough, practically shoving the book in his face at this point. I was desperate for his attention, and finally, to my delight, his gaze travelled towards me.

A chuckle escaped his lips.

Bingo, I now had his attention, moving on to phase two, I thought.

I looked up in mock confusion at him, giving him a small hum. My game was unravelling perfectly: he'd ask me about the book, I'd hint towards this "Timothèe Chalamet" guy, and he'd just so happen to reveal that it was him. Then, all awkwardness would be avoided, and I could fangirl in peace!

"Oh, the book- I just happen to, um, are you a fan of Dune?" He finally concluded.

"Mhm, especially the film." I smirked. Here it comes, " You see, a favourite actor of mine plays the lead role. Timothée Chalamet, do you know of him?"

I studied his reaction to my words as a blush crept up underneth the mask he wore. He cleared his throat, and cautiously removed his mask, his infamous dorky grin replacing it.

In spite of myself, the air was sucked out of my lungs. I could finally admire him, his gorgeous chocolate locks, his green oceans, his soft skin that you itched to touch, and the generous dusting of freckles upon it. The only word to describe him was ethereal.

"Suprise" He whisper cheered, sticking his hand out in greeting.

I felt my cheeks burning, this was going to be a very interesting flight.

Hi!

I saw your post about the one piece tab, and the reason why I and some others are against it is because it's Tumblr making a very clear message about what side they're on when it comes to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

The one piece live action series is made by Netflix, which is one of the struck companies. Netflix are essentially paying Tumblr to do the advertising and promotion, because the actors and the writers can't promote it while they are on stike.

By having this promotional tab, Tumblr as a company are crossing the picket line, and saying that they are on the side of the AMPTP (the studios) and not on the side of the struggling writers and actors that are currently on strike for a fair deal.

I know this isn't the only reason why people don't like the tab, and also a lot of people aren't following the strikes as closely. But it is a reason why some people are mad about it!

(I promise this isn't anything against your post, I just wanted to explain one perspective on it)

ah see now this hasnt actually been mentioned anywhere in any of the complainy posts i've seen, this would make their anger make sense but all they're doing is complaining about it being 'unavoidable ads' and 'pushy advertising' both of which are nothing to do with the strikes and both of which are also incorrect.

they're not unavoidable, you can just choose to not click the tab, and they're not pushy because they're not forcing you to go there.

THE SAG-AFTRA STIKE ENDS THURSDAY!

the deal is waiting approval by the national SAG-AFTRA board, but the union negotiation committee voted unanimously on the current deal.

the deal includes protections for actors against artificial intelligence and a 7% increase of pay.

they didn't get everything they wanted, but the union plans to negotiate those things in 2026.

Full details of the deal will be shared Friday.

genisys should’ve went harder

Looking back at the shattered remains of Terminator Tumblr that I sit, nearly alone, In. It looks like I may be in the minority of people who actually liked Genisys as a movie? I thought it was pretty good - like Salvation it has a lot of interesting lore elements and character moments but they’re usually lost to dumb  decisions or distracting the audience with stuff that goes Boom.

Honestly there was several elements in this movie that I really loved and I just wish they actually expanded on instead of the weird as fuck emotional manipulation baby skynet?? I just. Why. Why. Why. Why. Not to mention the fact it was somehow in the OG timeline despite being from one not yet created etc - anyways here’s me rambling about what I liked and what they should’ve done.

What about John’s feelings?-

This movie actually gets John right. For the first five minutes at least, swap it out with the og actors and I can truely believe it’s what happened before Kyle went through. This sort of great leader but also team dad vibe he had. (Also losing my mind he has the full side scar, but also distinctly the same type on his lip as Kyle in the og)

Then… it’s not John Connor anymore- I mean this literally as he’s outright killed and has his mind taken over by Skynet. He’s this “Zombie Terminator” thing that’s sent back to ensure everything happens, and recrute or kill his parents.

Motherfucker that is the perfect opportunity to add a scene or two of weakness, of him angsting privately or outright not understand why they’re scarred and resisting. Not understanding how this is a good thing and they’re trying to kill him. Have some of his calling not just be manipulation but genuine pain and confusion. His parents are trying to kill him. This is the one time he’s seeing them together and alive. The one time he actually knows who his father is and it’s practically his right hand man. It should be perfect…. But they’re resisting.

Have these moments where johns trying to fight the programming. That he’s not completely lost. That he’s fighting every fucking second it makes him hurt them. That he snaps in and out of it, he kicks cries and screams before it takes his mind back. One of the things I couldn’t accept in this movie is that it didn’t give us glimpses of John. Like he wouldn’t be fighting it, like he wouldn’t be hurt - they’re trying to play it off like he was completely gone and I can’t accept that.

Lack of connection-

Ok so besides it being the worst casting of Kyle Reese known to fucking man. (Seriously why is this J Crew MCU looking ass man playing a guy who was generally sort of scrawny and had scruffy hair. The buzz cut makes it worse. He’s supposed to be from the OG timeline but looks nothing like it. Did you guys even try?!)

Despite being perfectly set up for a LOT of angst and deep character moments, meaningful exchanges etc… they’re really wasn’t anything. As much as I love teen angst Sarah™️. It was mainly them snapping, battle plan, run and fight. There was no padding. No heart to heart. Even the moments I’m sure they meant to be emotional just didn’t stike as hard, it was more of a exposition dump than emotion! The orignal had these good little moments when they hid or the fucking amazing deleted scenes between Sarah and Kyle,

Some points they could’ve and should’ve expanded on and were right there but they did nothing-

Kyle is even more lost then he was in the original. It’s not only another time but another reality all together. Everything he knows and thought he knew about the past is g o n e. have this as a emotional crux instead of Sarah yelling at him for not getting it

Have Sarah angst and be furious about the timeline that could’ve been. That she could’ve grown up happy, had friends , collage, a life that wasn’t weapons and preparation. that the future could’ve been blind to here until it happens.

Equally have Kyle grapple with the fact in this world he grows up normally. A regular fucking kid with parents , a house, trees, grass and everything. No war. No bombs. Nothing. He fucking meets this younger alternate self in a way that is WAY to casual- this kid has everything you should’ve and your like “yea ok here’s a pamphlet” I just- if I was a PTSD filled , trauma holding future war vet and saw a child me getting what I’d never have I’d ensure the kid has everything while mourning what I never had.idk they really didn’t push this as far as they did.

Pops. Not much to add just much more of him. I feel Sarah would’ve done the chip thing thatJohn did. Make him a bit more open and them both less cold. Proud robo dad V2 just😭

Have John also realize he’s from a nonexistant timeline. As he says this to pops but pops is from this timeline?? So if anything idve said it to Reese but idk

This was lightly pushed in the movie and had a real kick behind it but Kyle getting his head around John being his son. How he was much more protective from both a fanboy standpoint r and understanding he was actually his kid. This could’ve been used more or at least having it away Sarah in some sort of way bedsides her stubbornness.

I follow your blog (whenever I can), because I have a crush and a big admiration for Evan Peters and because the content of the blog and your approach amuses me. I consider Evan Peters to be a very visceral and versatile actor, which are qualities that I really like in an actor. He has a magnetic quality and, yes, I find him very attractive and sexy, in a way that is not very conventional, which is a plus for me. I don't usually comment here, but I come here and on some Instagram pages, mainly hoping to find news about new roles in films and tv series. It seems to me that his talent and charisma are not being fully used by Hollywood. When I have a crush on an actor or a musician, what I crave for is their artistic work. What I want from Evan Peters are his films and tv shows. I am eagerly waiting for something new and interesting, with his participation, to watch. To a certain extent, I think I face a crush on a "celebrity" like I face a crush on a character from a movie or a tv show and, just like with a favorite character, I become happy when things go well for my crush, either in professional or personal terms, and I tend do "love" them, in spite of their qualities or faults. I know Evan Peters is a real person, but I think people should face their interest in a celebrity" like they face a crush on a character. The "celebrity" is a real person, of course, but not "really" a real person, in the sense that celebreties are not part of the concrete lifes of the fans. I write this to state my position, before commenting that I was baffled with the number of fans who became jealous (really jealous) and infuriated in response to the video from Coachella, where Evan is kissing a girl, that may be his girlfriend. I know some fans made joking comments expressing jealousy, but a large number of those comments seem to be for real. Even worse than that was the harassment and hate that was, apparently, directed to the girl in the video. I can't understand this attitude. It´s very intriguing from a sociological point of view. I have no idea what are the ages of the fans that engage in this type o beahviour, but it stikes me as a very infantile and naif behaviour. Do they really think that they have some chance with Evan? Do they realize that he doesn't know them? Do they think that, just because there are no videos of Evan's everyday life, that he doesn't have relationships or sex with this or other girls? All this seems absurd. One of the things I like about Evan Peters is the fact that he doesn't has social media. I tend to prefer when a movie or a music star cultivates a certain mistery. I don't want to know everything about their lifes or opinions. I prefer the enigma of not knowing. It's more appeling to me, because a crush for a famous person is nothing more than fantasy, an escape from real life, but it's not real life. I think that celebreties that post about everything destroy that aura of mistery. In spite of this, I enjoy all the speculation and gossip on your blog. I find it very amusing. I prefer the speculation to the certainty. Sorry for any mistake. English is not my first language.
